What Robert Reich’s Obama/Clinton Fantasy Doesn’t Address: Why Would Hillary Make Herself a Scapegoat for an Obama 2012 Loss?

Posted at December 29, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // 2012 Elections

Robert Reich is the latest writer of fantasy and fiction who claims that Barack Obama will remove Joe Biden from the 2012 ticket and replace him with Hillary Clinton (before replacing her at the State Department with a newly unemployed Biden). Because Hillary Derangement Syndrome (HDS) still runs strong and deep in far too many people, Reich probably knows that writing anything related to Hillary Clinton becoming Vice President will get him a lot of attention — and the HDS-afflicted in political circles would run feverishly wild with this fantasy without ever bothering to ask a very simple question of Reich (or any of the other pundits who’ve put this “Hillary replacing Biden” fetish forward).

Why would Hillary Clinton make herself a scapegoat for an Obama 2012 loss by jumping onto this ticket?

Hillary Clinton is a lot of things to a lot of different people.  My boyfriend Justin’s parents are incurable HDS sufferers who believe Hillary is behind almost everything that happens in their lives, and that she secretly plots against them.  They also truly believe that Hillary Clinton personally murdered Vince Vaughn…who is an actor that they misidentify and confuse with Vince Foster. Reich’s article was designed to get the attention of the HDS-suffering crowd, who are worried about Hillary jumping into the 2012 race to save Obama.

Hillary is a lot of things, but she’s not stupid folks.

She’s also never been someone who has gone out of her way to save Obama from anything — and why should she, after what he did to her in 2008.

I’m sure if Hillary Clinton really wanted to be Vice President she, not Biden, would have been on the 2008 ticket with Obama.  Hillary gains nothing by joining the 2012 ticket when all indications point to a loss for Obama (unless Republicans foul things up for themselves and snatch Defeat from the jaws of Victory yet again).

In case you’re someone like Reich who can’t instinctively see this for yourself, here’s what would happen to Hillary Clinton if she would replace Biden on the ticket and Democrats lost next year:  Hillary would be blamed for the loss, and the drumbeat would be that “if only Obama had stuck with Biden, then he would have won!”.  Hillary would be demonized in Democrat ranks for “costing Obama a second term”. The Left would re-write all history to reflect a meme that Obama was on the way to winning re-election, but then Hillary Clinton had to foul it all up. “It’s All Her Fault!” would become a top-selling bumper sticker emblazoned next to the fading Obama ’12 stickers slapped on the bumpers of every Prius in the country.

There is no way Hillary Clinton would set herself up for a nightmare like this.

But, in fairness to Reich, there is one — and only one — scenario where I see Hillary Clinton pushing Biden off the ticket and seeking the VP slot for herself.  There are three things that need to happen to see an Obama/Clinton ticket:

1. Willard Mittens Romneycare needs to be the Republican nominee.  Romneycare is the only Republican who will lose to Obama, since that picture of him stuffing cash into his pockets at Bain Capital was the inspiration for the whole “Occupy Wall Street” bowel movement.

2. The Occupoopers, ACORN, the SEIU, the Black Panthers, the Gaystapo, and other Alinksy Goon Squads stumping for Obama on the ground in 2012 need to be a strong enough show of force that Clinton could be convinced that they’d overwhelm the Tea Party and guarantee an Obama re-election.

3. Jon Huntsman runs as a third party vote-splitter and attracts enough of Ron Paul’s disgruntled fans to make a strong enough showing in key swing states for Obama to snag Missouri, Ohio, Florida, Virginia, and North Carolina.

I debated on adding a fourth stipulation above, and that’s if Romneycare’s the nominee and he selects someone equally bland and lackluster as his running mate, such as Tim “Droopy Dog” Pawlenty.  If Clinton believes it will be a Romneycare/Pawlenty ticket, I think she might be tempted to go for it.

But, the woman is not going to risk being a scapegoat unless she is guaranteed Obama is going to win re-election. And for that to happen, Romneycare needs to be the nominee, the Left’s Alinsky-inspired troops need to be a strong and determined force, and Huntsman’s third party bid needs to secure the lion’s share of Paul’s supporters once Paul is out of the race.

If Obama would lose with Clinton as his VP on the ticket, Hillary will be punished and Obama will get another chance in 2016 to be the Democrats’ nominee. As it stands right now, Hillary has the best chance of being the party’s 2016 standard bearer. She’s a patient woman.  I’m sure she’s already looking at a 2016 run.

She would not jeopardize her chance to be the nominee four years from now by replacing Biden on the ticket in 2012 if she had any fear Democrats would lose and she’d catch the blame for it.

If you’re someone who is forwarding Reich’s fantasy, you really need to take a deep breath and remember who you are dealing with in Hillary Clinton.  This is not a woman who would ever willingly be a scapegoat…and she was already screwed over by Obama once for the nomination in 2008…she is not going to make that same mistake again in her plans for 2016.

More Proof Michele Bachmann Is Fishing for A Cabinet Position Promise from Romneycare: Her Super-PAC Is Now Pushing Romneycare

Posted at December 29, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // 2012 GOP Candidates, Michelle Bachmann

It’s been clear to me for the last two months that Michele Bachmann is only still in the presidential race for one reason:  to split the “Not-Romney” vote enough for Willard “Mittens” Romneycare to attempt to win the Iowa Caucus and New Hampshire primary.  Bachmann has treated Romneycare with great deference throughout the debates and has served as a persistent (and oftentimes shrill) attacker of whomever the leading “Not-Romney” candidate was at the time.

I started to wonder if Bachmann was on Romneycare’s official payroll, considering the way she’s behaved herself.  But, more likely, Bachmann’s fishing for the promise of a Cabinet-level position in a theoretical Romneycare administration.  Ambition is strong in Congresswoman Bachmann, and she wouldn’t be the first candidate to make a deal to split opposition vote in the early voting states in exchange for the quid pro quo of a Cabinet slot if things work out well for a candidate like Romneycare.

Today comes more confirmation of what Michele Bachmann is really up to: her Super-PAC has switched to advocating for Romneycare. This follows the announcement that her Iowa Chief of Staff has abandoned her campaign-in-name-only for Ron Paul.

I have to give credit where it is due:  the Cocktail Party GOP establishment has played its hand incredibly well during the leadup to the Iowa Caucus.

Bachmann, Rick Santorum, and Jon Huntsman remain in the race despite having no chance of being the ultimate nominee.; their assigned role is to prevent the “Not-Romney” vote from coalescing behind either Newt Gingrich or Rick Perry, so that Romneycare squeaks through with a win, his opposition dividing amongst a half-dozen candidates.

If you are backing anyone other than Gingrich or Perry at this point, you are only helping the Cocktail Party GOP establishment push Romneycare to a win.

HillBuzz Open Thread: Thursday December 29th, 2011

Posted at December 29, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Featured Content, Open Threads

[ Note: the trees above are from the "An American Christmas" display at the Reagan Library in Simi, Vally California.  This is the "1790s tree", with decorations meant to evoke life in the American 1790s.  What can you spot on the tree that brings that period of history to mind? ]

If you’re amenable, I’d really like to ask you to say some prayers today for three people who really need it:

* Justin’s sister Darcy had a c-section yesterday, after a pregnancy with a lot of complications. Darcy’s not doing well after the operation, but the baby is having trouble breathing and had to be airlifted to a special hospital and put on all sorts of machines.  Justin’s family is very scared and needs your prayers for Darcy and the baby.

* A very special friend of a friend is in the hospital in the last stages of a debilitating disease – it’s touch and go whether this will kill him today, or if he’ll bounce back and live to fight his condition again in the future.  He’s a very talented computer whiz who has done a lot of good fighting the Left in various ways, but his body is giving out on him. His would be a great loss for more people than you would know, so I hope you pray for him to get well. His name is George.

* Finally, a very close personal friend of mine was just served the eviction papers for her foreclosed home. Her house is being put up for sale by the bank in February. Please pray for her to find the strength and presence of mind to deal with this. I haven’t the first clue where to even start or how she can make a stand, so if you know anything at all about foreclosure situations in addition to prayers please offer your insights below.  There are a shocking number of people in this boat across the country in this Obama economy.

I believe very much in the power of prayer and hope you consider including the three situations above in your thoughts, especially the last one for anyone who has experience dealing with foreclosure situations.

What other things are on your mind today?

What are people talking about in your part of the country?

Letter From a HillBuzz Fan. Maybe You Should Become A Subscriber Too.

Posted at December 28, 2011 by TheTamminator // Hillbuzz

Hello, dear readers.  Tamminator here. I’ve been away from HillBuzz for the holidays, and the first thing I noticed in my in-box when I returned was this lovely letter from a fan of this site.  I thought you should see it, because without the support of readers like you, HillBuzz can’t stay in business.  I hope you consider becoming a monthly member to help us defray the costs of running this website.
Dear Kevin and HillBuzz Team:

I’ve been following your site for a few years now, and I have learned so much about politics from you that it’s really changed my life.  I don’t see the political parties the same way I did before.  I used to think that the people in office were looking out for us, but I’ve learned from you that this isn’t often the case.

I don’t post any comments on your site, because I don’t really want to engage with strangers that much.  I guess you would call me a “lurker”.
But I still read your columns every day, so I hope that counts for something.

The other day one of your readers suggested that people subscribe to be members of HillBuzz , and a few people did that.  I have been thinking about all of the things that I’ve learned from you, like the cocktail party Republicans, and the dirty Chicago politics, etc., and I realized that I’ve been getting an education from you for free.  I know you’ve had some horrible health problems, and hate mail and other things to deal  with, and yet you still keep on writing.  And I have benefited from what you give of yourself for free to anyone who wants to read it every day.

So, I’ve decided to become a HillBuzz subscriber too.  I figure that $5 a month is the least I can give back for all that you’ve given me. It’s less than what I spend at Caribou Coffee on my way into work every day. Your writing makes me think and many times it makes me laugh so hard that I have tears running down my face.  I look forward to reading your essays every day, so the least I can do is contribute to your site.  It’s certainly better than the crap I read in the newspaper, and that costs 75cents a copy where I live.  HillBuzz comes out to something like 17 cents a day if I’m a member.  And that’s one hell of a deal, if you ask me!

Anyway, I just thought I’d let you know.

Thank you for everything you do, and keep it up!

Sincerely,

Beth

(I changed her name for privacy’s sake but wanted you to read her letter)

QUESTION: Why Did Jack Ryan Drop Out of Illinois Senate Race in 2004 (which paved the way for Obama’s rise)

Posted at December 28, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Cocktail Party GOP, General Stupidity

Dear HillBuzz,

I had always heard that Jack Ryan dropped out of that race (the 2004 Senate race where Barack Obama ultimately was elected to the Senate). Are you saying that the Repubs pressured him out, or that he could have run if they had stuck by him?

(Backstory: When Jack Ryan was running against Dr Utopia for the US Senate, the Ryans’ (sealed) divorce records were mysteriously unsealed and leaked to the press. Though the divorce itself was amicable – Jeri “Seven of Nine” Ryan had nothing to do with the leak – the records were deeply embarrassing to Jack Ryan. He ended up leaving the race. The Party of Stupid decided to run Alan Keyes in his place. And that’s how Barack Obama became a U.S. Senator.)

Thanks,

A.A.

*************************************

Dear Readers,

The above was a comment that I lifted off another thread and wanted to answer here because a lot of people don’t know the story of how Barack Obama’s rise to the presidency was set in motion. The only reason Obama is President today is because the criminally stupid Cocktail Party fools in the Illinois GOP — the very same people who are pushing Willard “Mittens” Romneycare’s nomination in 2012 — demanded Jack Ryan withdraw from the Senate race in 2004 after he had already won the nomination.

Ryan is the ex-husband of Jerri Ryan, a woman who played a cyborg of some sort on the Star Trek series that many people apocryphally believe starred Katherine Hepburn as a spaceship captain; Ryan, the actress, currently plays a mortician on some CBS show where Dana Delany drinks chardonnay while solving crimes as a medical examiner. During their marriage, Jack Ryan used to openly talk about sexual fantasies he had of his wife Jerri, the most graphic of which is that Jack wanted to fly his wife to Paris and take her to the Cleopatra Club — which was a high-priced sex dungeon where the two of them could have sex in front of other wealthy people while utilizing various swings and other contraptions.  The Ryans never did any of this — it was purely Jack’s fantasy, and he wanted to do this with his own wife (while other men and women watched them).  When filing for divorce, Jerri’s divorce attorney put references to these fantasies into the filing to embarrass Jack (who wanted to have a political career).  The intent on Jerri’s part was to force a quick and lucrative divorce settlement so that the Cleopatra Club fantasies would never get out into the open.

In essence, Jerri Ryan blackmailed Jack Ryan into a much more generous divorce settlement than she would have received if she hadn’t made his unrealized sex fantasies a part of the filing.

The divorce agreement was supposed to be sealed and unavailable to reporters; once she had her loot, Jerri Ryan never talked about any of the Cleopatra Club stories again. Her intent was never to hurt Ryan, just to blackmail him for the best divorce settlement possible.

Flashforward to 2004.  The Obama Senate campaign illegally obtains Jack Ryan’s sealed divorce filing and sees the Cleopatra Club references.  Obama’s operatives release the embarrassing sexual fantasy material to the media, and the criminally stupid Cocktail Party here in Illinois makes the decision to force Ryan to withdraw from the Senate race after he was already picked as the nominee.  I need to use bold for this, but Jack Ryan would have won that Senate race if the Cocktail Party GOP establishment had not forced him off the ballot.

Barack Obama would not have been elected to the Senate in 2004, and he would not have been elected President in 2008. None of the terrible things that have happened to our country in the last three years would have taken place if the criminally stupid Cocktail Party hadn’t forced Ryan to withdraw from the Senate race for having sexual fantasies about his own wife.

After they got rid of Jack Ryan, the Cocktail Party decided it was Alan Keyes’ turn to run for Senate…even though he had never lived in Illinois.  Keyes quickly bought as small a parcel of land as he could find and the Cocktail Party slapped him onto the ballot to run against Obama.  The end result wasn’t even close.

A Senate race the Republicans would have won was lost in Illinois because the Cocktail Party GOP establishment insisted “Alan Keyes was more electable” and they maneuvered to take the man people wanted to vote for off the ballot and force their “it’s his turn!’ candidate in his place.

That’s all in bold, too, because the Cocktail Party is up to these sorts of trick in Virginia and in other states as the 2012 primary race is underway and they are doing everything they can to force Willard “It’s His Turn!” Romneycare onto voters as the GOP nominee…when fewer people want this than wanted Alan Keyes in 2004 here in Illinois.

This is how the “Party of Stupid” has earned its reputation.

But — amazingly — EVERY SINGLE PERSON responsible for this still has his job with the Illinois GOP, is still calling the shots in Illinois, and is currently working for the Romneycare campaign.

K.D. for H.B.

What Are You Willing to Do For Candidates in the Leadup to the Iowa Caucus?

Posted at December 28, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // 2012 GOP Candidates

[ Click above to embiggen: what are you willing to do to volunteer for the Republican candidates for President? ]

I’d love for you to chime in with what you are willing to do for each of the Republican presidential candidates in the leadup to the Iowa Caucus.

Here is how everything shakes out for me:

Primary Season Goal: To do everything and anything I can to make sure Willard “Mittens” Romneycare is not the GOP nominee.

General Election Goal: To do everything and anything I can to make sure Barack Obama is defeated.

I will vote for whomever the Republican nominee is, but I can only think of arguments to make FOR Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry, and Michele Bachmann (in that order of preference).  If the Cocktail Party GOP establishment succeeds in forcing Romneycare as the “it’s his turn nominee”, I can’t think of a way to plausibly campaign for him, so I’ll have to just focus on campaigning AGAINST Obama. With the other three options noted above in Gingrich, Perry, and Bachmann, I could at least campaign for them while simultaneously working against Obama.

I firmly and truly believe that the only way Barack Obama wins re-election is if the Republican nominee is Romneycare. I also sadly believe that the Tea Party movement should be declared officially over if Romneycare becomes the nominee — since the Tea Party should prevent his nomination.

Should Romneycare become the nominee and then lose to Obama, I hope you join me in seeing to it that everyone responsible for pushing Romneycare as the “it’s his turn!” nominee is removed from any position of influence at all in the Republican Party.  This should have been done in 2008 with everyone responsible for John McCain’s “it’s his turn!” nomination.  Should the Cocktail Party get its way next year…and should Romneycare go on to lose to Obama as expected…I really hope you dedicate yourself to making every single Romneycare establishment cheerleader out there eat their words on the unemployment lines and that you never again allow any of these people into the halls of political power.

But, all of this is a fight for another day.

Our focus should be on doing whatever we can to stop Romneycare’s nomination.

There is nothing in the world that I hate more than phone banking.  I detest the telephone, particularly when it comes to cold calling strangers for anything.  But, it’s not possible financially or for health reasons for me to go to Iowa and canvass door to door in the leadup to the Caucus as I’ve done in years past…so I am going to make calls into Iowa from home.

I’m making those calls on behalf of Newt Gingrich, whom I am supporting in the Iowa Caucus.  My second choice for the nomination is Rick Perry, a man I like very much on a personal level (especially since he’s decided to sue Virginia over the misapplication of rulings that allowed Romneycare onto the Virginia primary ballot without having his petition signatures scrutinized as Perry’s and Gingrich’s were). I wish every day that Perry hadn’t stumbled and bumbled his way through his campaign launch or in his debate performances; he seems to be a very good man, who is just bumbling in front of a live audience on a large stage.  For that reason, I still don’t trust him to handle himself well against Obama in a general election, so he’s stuck at number two in my book while Gingrich is in the race.

Michele Bachmann is another great disappointment to me, because her only role in the nomination race so far has been as either the attacker of the best-polling not-Romney candidate or as a self-promoter akin to the diva character Rachel Berry on the TV show Glee. It’s a shame, because before she ran for president I liked Bachmann very much. I wanted her to be the next Speaker of the House. Now, I just wish she’d take her negativity and endless “Look at me! Pay attention to me!” attitude and return to Congress. She’s, in my opinion, only still in this race because she wants to help Romneycare by dividing the Not-Romney vote…and in short time she’ll be stumping for Romneycare with the quid pro quo of a Cabinet appointment in a theoretical Romneycare administration.

Under no circumstances would I ever vote for Ron Paul or Jon Huntsman and would never do anything to volunteer for them.

If Rick Santorum runs for the Senate again, I’d phone bank for him in that race. But he needs to get off the stage at this point so his share of the Not-Romney vote can go to a candidate who can actually beat Romneycare in the primaries and then take down Obamacare and its namesake in the general election.

Where do you stand and what are YOU willing to do in this last week before the Iowa Caucus?

PHOTOS: The Exact Replica of the Oval Office in the Reagan Library and Museum

Posted at December 28, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Conservativism, Political Figures, Political Figures - The Right

I wanted to post these photos of the exact replica of the Oval Office that’s displayed at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California — because they are an excellent resource for anyone who enjoys photoshopping and would like to use them for political cartoons in the upcoming election.

It’s hard to find photos of the Oval Office without people in them, so on a recent trip to the Reagan Library I took shots of the replica from every angle imaginable so that I’d have access to whatever possible image I’d ever need of an Oval Office in the future.
