Goodbye 2011…hello 2012…Happy New Year!

Posted at December 31, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Hillbuzz

A new year’s dawning in just a few hours for us here in Chicago.  It might already be 2012 wherever you live now. It might be 1985, too, if you happen to find yourself in a Delorean, flying or otherwise.

I hope wherever you are and whatever you are doing that you are doing it safely to celebrate the ringing in of a new year.

If you are drinking, please drink responsibly…and don’t for any instant think you are okay to drive when you aren’t.

2012 will be a big year for our county…and we need YOU alive and well and ready to do your part. I don’t want to harp, but a fun time can be had without the alcohol; a champagne glass filled with ginger ale at a bar looks just like the real thing.  No bartender alive will refuse the request to do it, either. Just a simple New Year’s trick from Boystown to you for those whose friends pressure them to drink when they know they shouldn’t…well, now you don’t have to, and the peers-who-pressure will never be the wiser.

I you are staying at home tonight, and have a few moments to spend at your computer or on your phone, maybe you can take that time to tell the people you care about just how much you love them and how important to you they were this year. It would be nice if you could dash off a line or two to each individual, and not one big blanket Facebook post.  Let the people you love know you care about them, and invite them to make 2012 the best year ever for all of you by sharing its birth together.

If you are estranged from someone you love, why not let that estrangement expire at the stroke of midnight? Let it be a part of 2011, gone into the history books forever.

Everyone gets a fresh start on New Year’s Day in my book — though, many will no doubt do something awful to affirm whatever negative things I thought about them last year. But, with the new year, I do always strive to give people that second change. Or fifteenth, as the case may be. Even the cyberstalkers. Life is too short to maintain an enemies’ list in triplicate. No one really needs that paperwork or stress on their soul. That doesn’t mean you have to forgive and forget and let the villains of your life get away scot-free…it’s just a chance to free yourself from the shackles of having to be actively mad at those people every day. It’s a wonder what you can accomplish when you dwell only in the sunlight and invest your time and energy in the positive causes that matter to you, instead of the time you may have in the past spent carrying stale grudges. There are so many more things worthy of your time and precious energy.

My boyfriend Justin is with his family this New Year’s Eve, where every one of them is on pins and needles waiting to see if Justin’s newborn niece Astor will survive into 2012.  I miss him terribly and can’t imagine what he’s going through, and am beside myself worrying about Astor and praying she makes it. I hope whatever weakness and illness that plagues her gets evaporated into the ether with the dawning of 2012…like so many bad memories and so much grief that I know many of you had in your own lives this last year.

Tomorrow I want to talk about the things I want to work hard on to accomplish in 2012.  These won’t be New Year’s Resolutions, but things I think we could all work on together that will make a difference in the election at hand. Defeat Willard “Mittens” Romneycare in the primaries; Defeat Barack Obama in the General Election; Save the country from ruin at the hands of the Left. It’s a tall order, but America’s been up against worse foes in the past…and Americans always persevere when things might look at their absolute worst.

But, all of this talk is for tomorrow.

Tonight I want to listen to Mariah, and to the other versions of Auld Lang Syne that are out there. I want to send my emails out to friends thanking them for making a difference in my life in 2011 and asking them to remain at my side through 2012.  I want to call Justin and hear his voice and ask him how Astor is…and ask him again if he’ll join me in a civil-union next fall so he and I will never have to be apart like this again, on New Year’s Eve or any other day.

For all the health problems and other hardships that 2011 brought me, I somehow managed to find the best friend I’ve ever known and the guy I want to spend forever with in Justin.

So 2011 wasn’t such a bad year after all in my book — no matter what the talking heads and other Eeyores out there will try to convince you, as they read the tired old scripts they regurgitate every single year, for want of anything original to say.

We are all only dancing on this Earth for a short time; what we say and do and how we live matters. We all make a difference in our own ways and the stances we take or choose to ignore are important. We all have a part to play, so I hope I’m not the only one in 2012 who looks forward to you playing YOURS…in whatever way God has intended.

With deepest and most loving thanks for all your support, friendship, and readership in 2011 as we gear up for the most important political year of our lives.

HillBuzz Open Thread: Saturday December 31st, 2011

Posted at December 31, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Featured Content, Open Threads

[ Note: the above are snaps of the 1810s tree in the Reagan Library's "An American Christmas" exhibit.  For those who wonder why we're running images of Christmas trees after Christmas Day, it's because the "12 Days of Christmas" you've heard about actually run the twelve days AFTER Christmas, not before -- from Christmas Day through the Epiphany.  I thought it would be fun to take a close look at these "decades-trees" to look at bits of American history hidden in the ornaments.  What can you see in the 1810s ornaments that tells you something about American history? ]

Since it’s New Year’s Eve, I’d love you to use this thread to record the things you felt were most important about this year.

One of the things I’d like to draw attention to is the fact that so many very lazy and cliche-prone writers and pundits will be droning on today about what a terrible year 2011 was and how glad they are to see it go.

If you step into your Delorean and remember what these same people said in 2010, they thought THAT was a terrible year, too.

As was 2009, 2008, and every single year before it.

People, every year will have challenges.  We’ll all struggle through and endure enormous trials and challenges.  Each year, people we love will be lost and dreams we’ve nursed for years will be shattered. Such is the nature of life.

But, I think it’s a very Michelle Antoinette Obama sort of attitude to constantly piss all over everything on New Year’s Eve.  “I’m only proud of 2011 for the first time in my adult life now that it’s over,” I can imagine Michelle Antoinette grumping…before sinking her teeth into delicious barbeque on the beach in Hawaii, on the umpteenth vacation she’s taken since moving into the White House.

2011 was a rank and festering bear of year for me in a lot of ways, with medical issues that have sunk me farther in debt than I could have ever imagined was humanly possible.  I was demoralized and heartbroken that Governor Sarah Palin did not answer the call and run for president, and I remain stymied and dejected that no candidate I’m passionate about has a chance to be nominated on the Republican ticket next year. I’m horrified by the things Barack Obama has done to our country this year and could rank 2011 as one of the worst years ever solely on the basis that the Left seems to have accomplished more of its goals towards destroying this country than ever before.

But, 2011 is also the year that I got serious with my boyfriend Justin…and it’s the year we moved in together and started planning on a civil union.  2011 is the year I got to spend the week after Thanksgiving volunteering for Operation Gratitude and sending care packages to our troops. 2011 is when I teamed up with my good friend Megan Fox to solve political mysteries on the radio together; it’s the year I met some of the wonderful people who I hope to be lifelong friends; it’s the year I finally saw the “gay community” for what it was and began fighting back against its concerted efforts to malign Christians and separate gay men from their religious friends and family.  2011 is the year when Justin’s first niece, Astor, was born — and her struggle for life as she came into this world makes me appreciate and cherish just how special and important every life is.

Very few things went the ways I wanted them to this year, but that’s the beauty and the magic of life.  We’re all here to do the very best we can…for ourselves, and all the little Astors who may be in our lives.  This is our watch, folks, this is our time to stand for something and to do SOMETHING important with the time we’ve been given.

In the year 2011, we had access to more technological wonders than in any year before it.  In 2011, more people in this world had food to eat and places to sleep than in any time in history.  In 2011, we were all alive and sentient enough to make friendships and enjoy the company of loved ones when billions of people who existed in history are dead and gone and afforded no such wonders.

However you plan to signify the New Year tomorrow, please don’t let the Michelle Antoinette Obamas of the world seep into your attitude towards 2011 or any year of your life.  Be proud of yourself, your country, your life, and your YEAR not for the first time in your adult lives…but EVERY DAY of your lives.

Be excellent to those around you.

And be ready to kick off 2012 on a positive note and make a solid effort to ensure that EVERY day in the new year carries that same life and life.

An Open Letter to Andrew Breitbart, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, and Others: Please Help Bare Naked Islam Rebuild After Deletion By WordPress.com

Posted at December 30, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Best of Hillbuzz, Featured Content

This is an open letter to Andrew Breitbart, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Dennis Miller, and other high-profile political writers, speakers, and thinkers in conservative ranks.

I implore you to do whatever you can to draw attention to the recent deletion of the website www.BareNakedIslam.wordpress.com –  which the web hosting provider WordPress.com deleted yesterday after receiving threats and pressure from the CAIR Bears of Islam to obliterate this valuable and extensive peek behind Islam’s odorous veil.

Serendipitously, this week I came across a story being covered by “Penny Arcade” — a site popular with comic book and video game fans — about Paul Christoforo, the President of PR firm Ocean Distribution, who engaged in an absurdly ill-advised and foolish hatemail session with a video game fan, during which Christoforo stooped to unprofessional insults and other attacks that backfired upon him in a very big way when Penny Arcade published his emails — and a large swath of the “gamer” community joined together to hit back at Ocean Distribution. In short order, the “gamers” took action against the manufacturer of a certain game controller promoted by Christoforo, succeeding in lowering its Amazon rating to one-star. That manufacturer promptly fired Ocean Distribution from its PR team, and in just a few days the debacle has caused Ocean Distribution to cease business operations altogether.  Paul Christoforo is finished in the video game industry, all because the readers of Penny Arcade mobilized to hit back against this one PR bully.

I bring this up because this never happens when anyone in the ranks of conservative writers is targeted by the Left’s Alinsky Death Star.  Conservatives just don’t stick together, and the “heavy hitters” out there with big time name recognition (like yourselves) don’t use your platforms and podiums to expose the Left’s attacks on individuals or make the Left sorry they targeted a site like BareNakedIslam.

Meanwhile, the Left picks off conservative writers one by one, crushing individual sites like an Alinsky Death Star roving cyber space with unlimited power and free rein to rain destruction upon all the “little guys” who make easier targets than the few and select “heavy hitters”.

I grant that there’s a huge difference between the worlds of political and video game writing. I also realize that “gamers” had no legitimate fear of Paul Christoforo launching a jihad against them or declaring a fatwa on their lives in retaliation for taking part in an effort to shame him.  But, too often the Left — and entities like CAIR whom the Left enables — is allowed to use emotional terrorism and weaponized Alinsky tactics against little sites like BareNakedIslam, which are disappeared without notice by the “heavy hitters” in the conservative political world.

The response to something like this should be a call to arms by every political writer and high-profile pundit to vociferously condemn the actions taken by WordPress.com in deleting BareNakedIslam.

I’ll geek out and liken what WordPress and the CAIR Bears did here to Dark Vader and Moff Tarkin firing up the Death Star to blast Alderaan to bits. The Left counts on everyone to be terrified of a deletion like this happening to them, and CAIR certainly wants political writers to believe that if they speak out against Islam their own sites will be deleted too. For years I’ve felt that conservatives are too afraid of becoming next on the Alinsky hit list to get involved in the plights of other conservatives…and many of these writers in particular are scared of being labeled racist, homophobic, or bigoted by the Leftist goon squads if they’d stand up against Alinsky bullying of others.

There are exceptions to this of course — people in conservative ranks who happily take double portions of whatever the Left’s dishing out that day.

Andrew Breitbart, in particular, is the real life equivalent of Han Solo in the political world. Often times, Ann Coulter’s got the required cinnamon rolls stapled to her head as our Princess Leia.  Rush is kind of like Chewbacca some days, and I mean that in the most flattering and laudatory way possible.

But, these people — powerful in their own spheres — never seem inclined to team up on anything or shout in one clear, loud voice that the obliteration of sites critical of Islam or Barack Obama WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

There’s a line in Star Wars where Leia, witnessing the destruction of her home planet Alderaan, testifies that the tighter the Evil Galactic Empire forced its grip, the more star systems would slip through its fingers.

I hope that’s the case with every conservative writer’s focus on the CAIR Bears of Islam.  They may have scored a temporary (and ultimately meaningless) victory in aiming the Alinsky Death Star at BareNakedIslam and deleting it from existance…but I hope this event sparks an Alliance of Conservative Writers that hits Islam and its apologists harder than ever before.  A rebel alliance, with common cause, opposed to the Left and would-be unrelenting global caliphate.,

I hope the heavy hitters out there of the Breitbart, Limbaugh, Coulter, Malkin, and Miller variety provide whatever assistance they can to see BareNakedIslam restored completely on another server where it can never be deleted again. Rebuild this resource twice as detailed and impressive as before, and make it absolutely obliteration-proof.

I ask these big names in conservatism to take things a step further and expose the CAIR Bears and WordPress.com for the actions they took in tandem against conservative writers dedicated to exposing the truth about ‘the religion of peace” — which is neither peaceful nor religious and is instead a medievalist and militarized death cult at war with western civilization, no matter what its apologists claim.

I’m shocked at how effective video game lovers can be with just a small post on “Penny Arcade” to inspire them to hit back against a bully in the PR world.

But, I’m dismayed at how seldom conservatives ever band together like this to strike back against the CAIR Bears or the Left in general and how often the “heavy hitters” of the right tend to turn a blind eye and allow these things to happen without a coordinated response aimed at the heart of the Left.

I hope if the obliteration of BareNakedIslam was not on your radar before, that it is now.  I know it’s inspired me to write more about the CAIR Bears than I ever have before and to lobby every webmaster I’m familiar with to abandon WordPress.com for a paid server of his or her own so that what’s happened to this one conservative site will not happen to any others.

Please help BareNakedIslam rebuild while engineering a major blowback on WordPress.com and the CAIR Bears for this site’s deletion.  I don’t think that collectively you are our ONLY hope (as Princess Leia would say, holographically projected by R2), but you sure as heck could give the CAIR Bears and folks at WordPress.com great pause before they’d ever attempt a stunt like this again.

May courage and defiance be with us.

Respectfully,

Kevin DuJan

UPDATE: Please do everything you can, whomever you are that is reading this, to sound the alarm about what was done to BareNakedIslam.

I see that many sites out there are picking up these clarion call and are condemning WordPress.com for kowtowing to the CAIR Bears and Islamists.

I also see many noting the obvious:  why is it that WordPress.com chooses to obliterate sites critical of Islam but allows Muslims to maintain sites that spread hatred of gays, Jews, women, and everyone who opposes Islam?

If you or anyone you know use WordPress.com to host your website, PLEASE move to a paid server. It’s expensive, but maintaining a conservative political site on a free hosting platform like WordPress or Blogspot is just not smart.  If you are not part of the Left’s echo chamber, you will ultimately be deleted the way BareNakedIslam was obliterated.

The only sites safe on WordPress or Blogspot are sites that agree with the Left’s politics, sites that promote the Islamization of the world, or sites about innocuous things like knitting, candy corn, or celebrity gossip.

If your politics are conservative, you cannot risk having your entire archive of work wiped away because Muslims complain about you and demand that your site be deleted (or else Muslims will start murdering the people who provide your hosting).

WordPress Shuts Down “BareNakedIslam” After the CAIR Bears Threaten Violence Against WordPress Staff

Posted at December 30, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // CAIR Bears, Unveiling Islam

[ H/t GatewayPundit for noticing BareNakedIslam's deletion by WordPress.com ]

The WordPress hosting service has deleted the site “BareNakedIslam” after receiving threats of violence from CAIR, Islam’s PR wing that operates in the United States and aggressively targets anyone who speaks the truth about “the religion of peace” — which is neither religious nor peaceful, but instead is a militarized criminal enterprise at war with western civilization.

I want to give you some personal insight into what it was like to deal with WordPress when HB was a WordPress-hosted site.

At least once a week towards the end of our time on the WordPress hosting service, WordPress would lock me out of the HB account while it “investigated” some complaint submitted by Obama acolytes who were determined to shut down anyone who opposed him and what he is doing to our country.  The people who run WordPress are devote Obama cultists and kept locking me out of the HB control mechanism to intimidate us to stop writing about Barack Obama.

These lockouts would also happen following nearly every article we wrote about the weaponized death cult that is Islam.  I was never told who was behind it, but someone out there would file TOS (terms of service) complaints about those articles, and WordPress would suspend my access to HB while they “investigated” them.

I was forced to pay a retainer to an attorney who’d swat back against each of these suspensions; it got to a point where we’d have these things cleared up and completely removed in under a day, because we got so used to them.

What’s very interesting to me is that WordPress governs itself with a complete and obvious political agenda with these sorts of things because it does not handle TOS complaints in the same manner when it’s someone they agree with politically that is being complained about. For instance, there are several websites out there that are dedicated to attacking both HB and myself on a personal level, where the authors defame me, have organized an effort to make me unemployable, have encouraged fellow Leftists to go after my employers so clients will not hire me as a freelancer, and where these hate sites have actively directed people to come after me physically here in Chicago.  I’ve filed repeated complaints against these WordPress-hosted sites with WordPress, and every time I have been given a form letter response that “WordPress does not get involved in these matters and you need to take this up with the courts”.

That’s a stark contrast with WordPress.com making the clear and distinct decision to shut down BareNakedIslam, in the same way WordPress.com repeatedly blocked my access to HB (and on several occasions, mysteriously made this site disappear for a day or two as well).

This is why I made the decision to move HB to a paid server early in 2011 so that WordPress could not delete the site whenever they wanted, like they did to BareNakedIslam.  During the 2008 campaign, Google’s Blogspot hosting service was caught deleting anti-Obama sites during the Democrat primaries. They were forced to stop when too many people noticed what they were doing and put it together that a concerted effort was underway to eliminate all opposition to Obama.

The same thing is happening now, with sites targeted for standing up to Islam.

Muslims attempt to terrify people into keeping quiet about the medievalist, barbaric agenda of “the religion of peace” in much the same way that the members of the Church of Scientology have for years attempted to terrorize anyone who exposes their cult for what it truly is.  Because Muslims go a step further than Scientologists and threaten gruesome death to those who speak out against Islam, entities like WordPress cave to their demands and censor anything that does not praise “the religion of peace” and apologize for its death toll.

Though I don’t always agree with her style or some of the extremes she goes to, Pamela Gellar is a great hero of mine because Islam has declared an all-out fatwa on her for speaking out against the Ground Zero Victory Mosque and other efforts by Muslims to celebrate the murders committed by Islam on 9/11. I know the CAIR Bears have attempted to shut Gellar down repeatedly, and have made her life a living Hell because of her truth-telling, but she carries on.

I hope BareNakedIslam finds a home on a paid server of its own so that no entity like WordPress.com can delete it when it reforms.

It’s a huge expense to pay for hosting services because of the unpredictability of bandwidth usage on a political site. Every month around here at HB it’s a shell game of trying to find a credit card with enough room on it to pay for the hosting costs, but one or two articles that hit it big and make it onto to Rush or other highly-trafficked sites mean whatever bandwidth we’ve paid for gets gobbled up in a day when it was planned to last a full month.  That means more bandwidth needs to be purchased or the hosting company threatens to delete the site the next day without additional payment. It is a brutal, never-ending, stress worrying about paying the server bills each month — but it was either that or having worry about WordPress deciding to delete HB one day if they thought they could get away with doing that and no one would notice.

Many of you have no real idea what goes into keeping a political site alive and have never had any experience with the “Scylla and Charybdis” that political sites must navigate on a daily basis:  if a site remains on a free server like WordPress.com, then the site is vulnerable to being deleted at the whim of WordPress.com if an entity like the CAIR Bears threatens the lives of the WordPress.com staff and forces the site’s deletion; a site can avoid the scratching claws and venomous fangs of the CAIR Bears and other cyber-terrorists by paying to host itself on a commercial server, but the danger becomes just how much the cyber Charybdis will personally cost the site owner each month in bandwidth charges.  The more popular a site is, the more expensive it is, and the more hundreds of dollars need to be charged to credit cards to keep the site afloat. Ads pay pennies a month and are not enough to cover the server costs, so paying for server space comes out of the site owner’s pocket and forces a lot of people deeper and deeper into debt every month.

We decided this year to protect ourselves from Scylla and deal exclusively with Charybdis, while BareNakedIslam got burned by trying to avoid the paid server costs and taking a chance that WordPress.com would not delete them because of the endless complaints of the CAIR Bears.

I am sure BareNakedIslam will reform on a paid server and I hope people out there become paid monthly subscribers to help defray their costs in continuing forward — since it’s unlikely the people behind that site will ever again want to take the chance of existing on a WordPress.com-hosted site.

Each month when the server costs come due around here I have often regretted the decision to move to a paid server because of the huge burden this has caused financially…but now I’m reminded of why we chose Charybdis over Scylla and I’m reminded that it was the best decision for us, whatever the costs because we never have to be afraid of the CAIR Bears or other cyberstalkers shutting us down again.

***********************************************

NOTE: It appears the CAIR Bears of Islam did this to BareNakedIslam because of the site’s participation in the pressure put upon Lowe’s to yank their advertising from the “An American Muslim” propaganda show on TLC. The timing on all of this is very suspicious, but typical of the way Muslims retaliate a week or two after suffering some setback.  I’m sure there are just as many good and kind Muslims out there hiding under their veils and sheets as there were good and kind Germans living meekly under the oppression of Nazi Germany — but identifying individual nice Muslims today (or Germans in the 1940s) does not mean Islam or Nazism need to be treated as if they are “just another viewpoint” when the books they are based on, the Koran and Mein Kampf, have more in common than either has with actual peaceful, religious scriptures of true religions of peace in the world.

Jib Jab’s 2011 in Review Video: Barack Obama is Just a Sad Footnote

Posted at December 30, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Lamestream Media, The Left

Jib Jabs is an online greeting card company that makes fun, Year in Review videos for the end of December what they see as the most important events of the year.

Typically, the American President features prominently in these videos…but for 2011, Barack Obama makes only a minor appearance in a crowd shot.

The Jib Jabbers used to depict Obama as a superhero sent from the stars to solve all of the world’s problems with his patented, unicorn-dropped, Hopeychange.

That’s apparently not the case anymore, as attested in the video above.

For comparison, here are the previous years’ “Year in Review” videos, along with a piece of Hopeychange cult worship Jib Jab produced when the Obama Kool-Aid was strongest in his acolytes.

2010

2009

2008

2007

2006

2005

Now, look at how Obama used to be depicted as a magical, unicorn-riding, demigod sent from the ether to become the god-with-a-small-g for the godless Leftists:

My, how times have changed.

[ Note: the above photos are of the "1800s" trees displayed at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California as part of the "An American Christmas" exhibit that runs through January 8th.  What ornaments from the 1800s can you spot that make you think of that time period? ]

PRAYER REQUEST:

I need to ask you to please pray for my boyfriend Justin’s newborn baby niece, Astor, as she’s in critical condition today. Astor was born by emergency c-section three weeks early due to complications related to her mother Darcy’s pregnancy. Darcy’s a diabetic, so Astor developed differently than most babies; she’s the size of a three month old at birth, but her lungs are three or four weeks behind schedule in development.  Astor’s little body can’t get oxygen pumping correctly.

They had to airlift Astor to a special hospital forty-five minutes away from Darcy, and have kept Astor on a chilled ceramic plate to lower her body temperature so her little arms and legs have turned purple.  There are intubation machines that are breathing for Astor; she’s at 97% oxygen content, but that keeps being increased to 100% oxygen because Astor’s condition deteriorates. The goal is to bring the oxygen content down so that Astor can breathe normally on her own in time.

The doctors have told Justin’s family that Astor is on the razor’s edge between life and death right now.

PLEASE find it in your heart to pray for little Astor and for Justin’s family, especially Darcy, who is in incredible physical pain because of the c-section and is now traumatized on top of that by not even being allowed to hold her little daughter yet, as she’s been in critical care treatments since birth.

Justin is an absolute wreck.  He is truly the sweetest and most loving man I have ever known, and he loves his little niece with all his heart.  He feels totally powerless to do anything to help little Astor, and I share in that because I can do even less than he can from here in Chicago while Justin’s at least with his family while all of this is happening.

The only thing that any of us can do today is pray for little Astor and for Justin’s sister Darcy.

Please pray for little Astor’s lungs to kick in and start working big time. Pray that the oxygen gets to where it needs to go in her little body, and that her tiny heart starts pumping that vitality through her blood so that she can be taken off the machines.  Please pray that all the doctors and nurses remember absolutely everything they learned in medical school and are able to give Astor the very best care possible.  Please pray that all the nasty germs and microscopic bugs that lurk in hospitals are kept at bay so that Astor can heal without their interference.  Pray that Darcy is enveloped in God’s love and feels thousands of people coast to coast rooting for her and her newborn baby.

I need to testify to the awesome power of prayer.  When I was sick earlier this year and didn’t think I was going to make it, two very wonderful friends named Dick and Mary prayed for me and asked everyone on their email lists to do so as well.  I didn’t even have to be told when they were doing it, I just knew.  I felt a sense of peace and comfort that calmed my nerves and removed worry from my mind.  My body was able to heal as the peace of prayer allowed me to surrender my fears and trust in God’s will.

I would like Darcy to have this same blessing, and for little Astor to be sent a retinue of the most powerful of all angels to stand guard over her crib and allow her the opportunity to fight for her life and to serve her purpose in this world.

Please pray that a very special guy named Justin gets the chance to be the incredibly devoted and ever-present Uncle Justy I know he was destined to be.

If you are anyone with medical knowledge, I’d love for you to chime in on this thread and relate any experiences with cases like Astor’s and Darcy’s.  All of the info I get is through Justin, who is not medically trained.  At one point, Justin said Astor was placed inside a giant egg and taken into a special room to be warmed, but that sounds like something out of science fiction. Everything that’s happening is being filtered through Justin, relayed to me over the phone, and then processed in my mind’s eye…which makes it all the more terrifying to think about, since I have no personal experience with babies and am inclined to anticipate the very worst in all things.

I would never be able to thank you enough for any insight or prayers you can offer up today.

What are the top stories people are talking about in your part of the country?

What are people saying about the Iowa Caucus?

Do you think this will — FINALLY — be the very last time that Iowa is allowed to have such disproportionate attention lavished on its resident divas in a presidential election year?

Do You Believe That Mitt Romney Has the Guts to Elmonate Funding to PBS and NPR?

Posted at December 29, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // 2012 GOP Candidates, Mittens Romney

One of the main reasons I don’t support Willard “Mittens” Romneycare for the Republican presidential nomination is that I perceive him as a wimp who will say and do anything in front of an audience to get elected…but he lacks the courage and conviction to stand for, well, ANYTHING when push comes to shove and he’s threatened with negative media coverage for taking a necessary but unpopular stance.

Do you honestly believe that Willard will have the guts to eliminate the funding to PBS and NPR?

It needs to happen…especially in regards to NPR.  For decades now, taxpayers have been funding these media outlets that exist as Democrat propaganda machines.  It’s not appropriate for all taxpayers to pay for television and radio programs that promote the Left’s agenda…and it’s damn foolish for Republicans to allow this to keep happening.

I don’t trust Willard “Mittens” Romneycare to actually follow through on defunding PBS and NPR — both of which would survive and thrive without taxpayer money.

Sesame Street is a multi-billion dollar brand that could have its own channel if it wanted; the brand is so large, in fact, that it could survive on the air by merely paying for its OWN commercials for all of its toy products.  Sesame Street is never going to disappear.

Of course, that’s the threat the Left will make.  If a Republican president pushed the elimination of public taxpayer support for PBS and NPR, the agenda-driven media will slam him with images of children crying and Big Bird asking if he’ll be evicted.

Is Willard Mittens Romneycare tough enough to stand up to this and do what needs to be done?

I don’t think so, based on how he’s always conducted himself.

But, what do you think?
