TRANSCRIPT: Sarah Palin on Greta tonight talking about her decision not to run for President in 2012 — does anyone have a live feed to watch online?

Posted at October 5, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Hillbuzz

Sarah Palin will be on Greta tonight.

Does anyone have a live feed to watch her on FOX online?

Please add one to comments if you can find one.  Without TVs, online is the only way many of us can watch Greta.

UPDATE:

Here’s the only live link to FOX News online I could find:

Watch FOX News Online

I have never used this before and have to tell you the site is a little hard to navigate, but it is indeed live streaming FOX News for me so I can watch the Great interview with Governor Palin.

*********************************

LIVE BLOG:

I’m watching Greta now and will live-blog it.

Right at the top, Governor Palin is on. They are talking about Steve Jobs dying first.

The Governor talks about Job inventing the Ipad and little Trig using it to play “Talking Tom” that’s helping him learn and communicate. The Governor thanks Jobs for contributing so much to society.

Then, Greta asks the Governor why she is not running.

The Governor says she can be a voice and play a role in getting true public servants elected coast to coast.  In the House, the Senate, in Governor’s races, the Governor wants to be a voice.

The Governor apologies to those who are angry she is not running.

The Governor is proof you do not need a title to make a difference in this county.

She wants Senate seats to go to Constitutionalists and members of the House who will stand up to Obama and the Left.

Greta asks if there is any sadness…and the Governor says there is some sense of that and she went back and forth whether this is the time…and if there will be another opportunity in the future.

She said she made the decision today and it’s the right decision.  She will now join others in being effective in helping change what is going on in the country.

Greta asks about Governor Christie also saying now.

The Governor watched Christie and made her announcement in the form that she did because she didn’t want a big press conference or anything.  She says it is not about her or Christie or one candidate.  It is about Americans understanding we need to get the right people in office to reduce tax burdens, to become energy independent, and to become the leader we were in the past.

We need to be a team effort to strengthen the Republic.

Greta asks who Governor Palin says is the leader who can do the things that Palin wants done?

Governor Palin says there is no one perfect candidate.

She says don’t be disappointed in any politician…no one will make you happy always…you have to listen to candidates’ ideas, understand their records, and to not just put all of our faith in one individual.

It has to be through the debates that we will see their records and hear their ideas and know what they represent.

Listen to the will of the people.

Greta is curious who has been calling the Governor to get her endorsement.  Todd is getting all those calls and setting up meetings.  She will be meeting with people soon.  Have Todd as a guest on the show because he is handling the phone and manning the TV camera now.

Politicians are calling the Governor and she is looking forward to working with them and deciding who the nominee will be to unseat Barack Obama.

Greta starts talking about the candidates. Starting with Cain.

Palin:  Not surprised Cain is doing well.  He is not a politician.  He is a businessman who understands Job Creation.  That’s an American story of pulling himself up by boostraps.  Wants to hear more about 9-9-9 and how to reduce taxes and shrink government.  She believes he can do that and wants to hear his details.

Greta asks about Obama’s strengths and weaknesses.

Palin: Obama’s weakness is his record of failure. His only success was thanks to Navy SEALS. He is absent from reality and gets an F in terms of economic success.  His strength is that he will have a billion dollars and 90% of the media in his back pocket.  But enough Americans have awakened to his notion of transforming America and enough people have seen that we would be ruined with liberty eroded and that we will replace Obama no matter how much money he spends or how much the media pushes him.  People are awake they want change and they do not want to be a bankrupt and dangerous place.

Greta: Kathleen Kennedy Townshend agrees with Palin on some issues.  Surprised a Democrat would agree?

Palin: I appreciate her boldness.  I think it is proof that crony capitalism is a problem across party lines.  Cronyism will bankrupt our country if we don’t stop it.  Enough is enough.  Both parties need to unite for no more pay for play deals.

Greta: I just thought it was interesting. Thank you and good luck Governor Palin.

Palin:  Thank you Greta.

— then on to more obituary for Steve Jobs –

Steve Jobs, Rest In Peace – Anti-Capitalists, Bite My Ass

Posted at October 5, 2011 by Kathleen Gee // Conservativism, Essays - Conservativism
Steve Jobs, Rest in Peace

Steve Jobs, Rest in Peace

I’m crying as I note the passing of visionary Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple Computer, co-founder of Pixar Studios, innovator of iTunes, the iPod, the iPad, and the co-inventor and inventor of over 200 U.S. patents.

He died an incredibly wealthy man, whose ideas…IDEAS!…created jobs for literally millions of people around the world. He changed the music industry. He changed the publishing industry. He changed the software industry. He changed the consumer electronics industry.

He made massively powerful technology available to normal people everywhere in the world. He made it easy to use. He made it fun. He made it beautiful.

Steve Jobs’ vision, passion, and burning desire to make Mac users happy made the entire world a better place.

In other words, Steve Jobs embodied everything these worthless Marxist losers gathered on Wall Street hate.

How many anti-Capitalist troglodites are tweeting “Down With Capitalism” from their iPhones tonight? How many of them are listening to Che Guevarra speeches on their iPods?

Tools.

UPDATE: Here’s a transcript of the commercial:

Autocratic “Big Brother” figure on screen:
“Today we celebrate the first glorious anniversary of the Information Purification Directives.

[Apple's hammer-thrower runs toward screen, pursued by storm troopers.]

Big Brother:
We have created for the first time in all history a garden of pure ideology, where each worker may bloom, secure from the pests of any contradictory true thoughts.

Our Unification of Thoughts is more powerful a weapon than any fleet or army on earth.

We are one people, with one will, one resolve, one cause.

Our enemies shall talk themselves to death and we will bury them with their own confusion.

[Beautiful blonde athletic woman hurls hammer at the screen]

Big Brother:
We shall prevail!

[The screen explodes as the hammer hits it.]

Announcer:
On January 24th Apple Computer will introduce Macintosh. And you’ll see why 1984 won’t be like ’1984.’”

You know what this means…Hillary 2016 is now definitely going to happen

Posted at October 5, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Hillbuzz

Since Governor Sarah Palin today announced her decision not to run for president in 2012, it means that Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton retains her chance to become the first female United States President in 2016.

There’s little doubt a Republican will win in 2012; that could have been Governor Palin, but will instead be Herman Cain, Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann, or whomever becomes the ultimate GOP nominee.

I believe President Palin could have made the difficult changes needed to get the economy back on track beginning in 2013, because I know she would have clobbered the Left and Cocktail Party GOP establishment alike while in office.  There’s just no way to turn the country around without taking down both the Left and the Cocktail Party establishment.  If someone like Mittens Romneycare becomes the GOP nominee, he’ll be a one-term president like Obama because I just don’t trust Mittens to make the tough calls that are needed to save our nation.

That means Hillary Clinton will have four years to not only rebuild the Democrat Party after Obama’s defeat — and purge it of his acolytes — but restore the country’s faith in the Democrat brand and position herself as the woman who will, at last, clean up the mess left by Obama and his Republican successor.

This all presumes Hillary will want to attempt all of this, but after following her career for over twenty years and working on the 2008 campaign, I can’t imagine she wouldn’t take one more shot at the presidency in 2016.  And I don’t even want to hear anyone start up on “she’ll be too old”.  She’ll be 69, and if Obama’s successor hasn’t brought us out of the Obama Depression by 2016, the last thing anyone will care about is her age if she presents a viable and realistic plan for saving the country from economic ruin.

I highly doubt Hillary would have challenged an incumbent President Palin in 2016…since that ‘first female president” moment would have passed and there would have been that much less incentive to put herself through another grueling national campaign.

Without Governor Palin in the 2012 race, Hillary 2016 becomes all the more likely.  A great many things depend upon the 45th President’s success in office — whomever this Republican ends up being — and just how well the country recovers from Obama’s “Golden Age of Hope and Change”, but Governor Palin’s decision to stay out of the race in 2012 definitely keeps the Hillary 2016 option open.

I highly doubt even she can repair the damage Obama has done to the Democrat brand, and I don’t even know whether she’d make an attempt at this Herculean challenge, but if Hillary Clinton still wants to be president, then 2016 is — as of today — still open to her.

And 2020 is definitely open for Governor Palin, I will also note, since she wouldn’t run against a sitting Republican in 2016 and will have another eight years on the national stage with which to establish herself as a Party leader and build her network for a future run.

Remember…the Republican Party has always been about the “it’s his turn in line” candidates who have often waited years to become the nominee.

If Governor Palin wants to be president some day, perhaps this factored into her decision today, along with the realization that much work from the sidelines must still be done to dismantle the Cocktail Party establishment and bring down the Left.  Perhaps this is part of a plan for 2020…but we won’t know until things play out in the years ahead.

It’s a sad day, because I would have relished voting for Governor Palin next fall. Instead, I’ll have to just use every day between now and then working for candidates coast to coast who share the Governor’s vision for getting the country back on track and removing as many Leftists and Cocktail Party establishment types from office as possible.

I know I will never vote for a Democrat again, because the Democrat Party did too much damage in 2008 and the years since for me to ever trust another Democrat in office.

I will vote for whomever the GOP nominee is come 2012…but will work hard to do anything I can to make sure that nominee is not Mittens Romneycare, and is instead someone who sees just how imperative it is to take down the Left and the Cocktail Party establishment.

A warning to Palin supporters: expect horrific hatred directed at you over the next several days from both the Left and the Cocktail Party GOP establishment

Posted at October 5, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Hillbuzz

I am sure if you’re a Palin supporter you are seeing this already, but I just want to take a minute to clue you in on the typical operating procedures in the Leftist and Cocktail Party GOP establishment ranks…in the next few days, there will be a concerted effort to tune you out of the 2012 election completely.

The Left intends to alienate you, to drive you off on a craze “third party” delusional path off into the wilderness, and to marginalize you so that you are removed as an impediment to Obama in 2012.

The Cocktail Party GOP establishment, meanwhile, is comprised largely of very nasty, smarmy, sophomoric types who just want to gloat that Governor Palin didn’t choose to run for the presidency in 2012.

Don’t let the Left drive you out of the presidential race just because your (and my) desired candidate is officially not running.

Don’t allow the Cocktail Party GOP establishment to win now, either, and have its way by making Mittens Romneycare the “its his turn” Republican nominee.

The things Governor Palin supports and believes in are much bigger than just Sarah Palin the individual.  The Governor is not going anywhere and will remain a powerful force in American politics. She won’t be a candidate, but she will still provide great leadership in the upcoming election.

Today is an emotional day…and the next few days ahead will be incredibly hard.

Expect the Left and Cocktail Party GOP establishment to infect every Palin supporting site with trolls who will attempt to beat down and demoralize everyone who wanted to see a Palin 2012 campaign happen.

It’s going to get ugly, and there’s nothing you can do to stop it…but you can steel yourself for this onslaught knowing it’s just another page out of the Alinsky playbook that’s being used by those who honestly know only one thing in life:  to use the Alinsky Playbook to great effect in pummeling political opponents.

Nothing has changed in your desire to defeat the Left and the Cocktail Party GOP establishment alike. Though we must adjust to the reality that we won’t be campaigning for Governor Palin in 2012, we certainly can continue our mission to campaign for the platform she’s putting forward for restoring America’s prosperity, renewing our pioneering spirit, and revitalizing our economy.

I know I will support Governor Palin in all that she does in the next stage of her career…including any and all offices she seeks in the future…and will no doubt very enthusiastically support all candidates for office she endorses.

It’s going to be tough for a few days, but I hope once the shock and surprise sinks in, and you’ve had a chance to pray on it a little, that you won’t fall into the trap set by the Left and the Cocktail Party GOP establishment and instead follow the Governor’s leadership and continue to work hard to defeat Obama and his acolytes in 2012.

Thank you Governor Palin for your continued service to the nation and for the role you will play in the 2012 elections

Posted at October 5, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Hillbuzz

Today Governor Sarah Palin announced she will not seek the presidency in 2012.

Everyone who supports the Governor should know that Governor Palin will continue to play an important and determined role in the 2012 elections and will no doubt be a strong presidential candidate in the future…but just not in 2012.

I respect and admire the Governor immensely and will continue to do anything I can to support her and her mission going forward.

I must not I’m disappointed by her decision not to run, but look forward to seeing whom she ultimately endorses.

I want to strongly encourage Palin supporters to work tirelessly for whomever emerges as the ultimate Republican nominee because defeating Obama and the Left is the goal in the days, weeks, and months ahead.

I’m confident the Governor will be a powerful force in the 2012 race and that, after no doubt much prayer and consultation with her family, Governor Palin decided her best role in the election ahead is that of strategist and campaigner but not as a candidate for office herself.

I know many of you are extremely disappointed today — and that’s understandable because a Palin Administration is just what this country needs — but I have no doubt the Governor will be a part of the next administration, whether it’s a Cain, Perry, Bachmann, or even a Romney presidency.

Without the Governor on the field, I’m going to take a longer, stronger look at Herman Cain, as he emerged as my second choice for the nomination in the last few weeks and I want to imagine what a Cain administration would really and truly be like.

Politics is a tough little world to be a part of — where raw emotions and charged passions run very deeply.  Believe me — I know what disappointment feels like knowing the candidate I support is the absolute best person in the world for the job, and then not seeing a campaign happen as I’ve envisioned.  This same thing happened to me in 2004 when Hillary Clinton decided not to run and let John Kerry be the nominee instead.  And then in 2008, the DNC usurped the nomination from Hillary and made Obama president instead.

It’s not easy watching from the sidelines and seeing things like this happen to people you support.

So, take all the time you need to adjust to and accept the Governor’s decision.

And then, take a good look at Herman Cain or your second pick in the presidential race and start thinking about how you could work just as hard for that man or woman’s election as you would have for Governor Palin’s.

Though I would have loved to campaign for Governor Sarah Palin, the more I look at Cain, the more I like about the man…and I remain incredibly anxious and curious to learn whom Governor Palin herself will support in the days ahead.

Governor Palin Open Thread

Posted at October 5, 2011 by Bridget // Hillbuzz

I was just listening to Mark Levin and he had Governor Palin on to announce she was not going to seek the 2012 GOP nomination. She said that she has spent much time consulting with her family and praying about the decision and she feels that she can be most helpful to the country by helping other conservative candidates get elected.

I thought an open thread was needed for this news so we can all vent…

Have at it…
