Super creepy Joe McGinniss on Today Show promoting his slimey “book”

Posted at September 16, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Action Items, Hillbuzz, Purple Team - Palin

[ Joe McGinniss interview on The Today Show 9/16/11 ]

Sometimes, I think it’s a public service to sit through some of this garbage so that you don’t have to.

The Today Show calls Joe McGuinness “longtime political author” — but I can think of a few better descriptive words more apt for a man who moved next door to the Palin family to stalk them and peep into the windows of young girls, the way McGuinness did last summer. “Longtime political author” is not the word I’d use to accurately convey the disgust his behavior generates.

I have no idea what this woman’s name is (the new Today Show talking head whose head is talking in the clip above), but she’s the latest mimeographed Today Show female host, succeeding Meredith Viera, who herself replaced “the perky one” Katie Couric, who was the pale replacement for Jane Pauley (ignoring Deborah Norville completely, as everyone should). These hosts seem to get more generic and less competent as they continue to be churned out of “journalism school”.

Whatever her name is (I think it might be “Savannah Smiles”, honestly, which wouldn’t surprise me in the least if it was true) sat down with Joe McGinniss in his cluttered, ramshackle home and kept calling his book “a bombshell” and “a takedown of Sarah Palin”.

Othertimes, he was distracted and seemingly looking about in corners or on the ceilings for the trolls, nymphs, and brownies he believes live or are baked there.

McGinniss has a creepy, whispering, fey voice and reminds me of a lonely old man in the neighborhood well-informed mothers would insist their kids avoid come trick-or-treating time. I don’t think McGinniss would put razor blades in the candy or anything, but I also wouldn’t trust him to not do anything inappropriate around children when unsupervised either.  He’s just creepy.  If your frisbee lands in his yard, kids, let him keep it. I don’t think it would be hygienic to ever want back anything that had been in his possession when the doors are closed.

Savannah Smiles goes on to say McGinniss spent four months in Wasilla, Alaska, but forgets to mention he was stalking the Palin family at that time.  She makes it sound like his car brokedown or his plane was diverted there, in the middle of nowhere, and he looked up and said, “Oh, Wasilla.  I can either write about the Iditarod or I can stalk Sarah Palin.  Let me toss this coin and see how I’ll spend my life”.

Apparently, he walked up and down the various streets in town and ended up speaking to 200 people who had heard of Sarah Palin in order to write his book.  I suspect some of his “interviews” were with various woodland creatures and ghosts or other things he may have made up, since most of his “interview” subjects are anonymous in the book.

McGinniss lies in the interview and says it was just “happenstance” that he moved next door to the Palin family and started peeping in their windows; he claims the woman who owned the house practically forced him to move there and rent it, and it was never his idea.

Yah, right.

Then he claims that he didn’t include  in the book anything he learned about the Palin family from living next door.  What really happened, that The Today Show doesn’t tell you, is that the Palin family filmed the Sarah Palin’s Alaska TV show during this time and were away for most of McGinniss’ peeping expedition, so all of the minors in the family were well-protected at a safe distance from this man when he was holed up next door, doing whatever it was he did all day, with binoculars.

McGinniss makes a point of repeatedly calling the Governor “Sarah”, as if he personally knows her.  Stalkers always do this, because in his imagination he probably has a manufactured fantasy relationship with the Governor. It would not surprise me in the least if he dressed up as her “for Halloween” and had arguments with himself in the mirror about whether or not the Governor is being a good friend to him.

Creepy!

Another clue to McGinniss’ mental health is how mad he gets when telling Savannah Smiles about Todd Palin “tromping” through the yard to tell him to behave himself and stop peeping on the Palin’s minor children.

Savannah reads part of a statement from Todd describing how the Palin family feels about McGinniss’ creepiness and his obsession with the Governor.

McGinnis sits there, listening proudly, like he’s receiving a commendation.

Then McGinniss accuses the Governor of being a bad mother and of using cocaine.  Savannah asks him how he knows these things, and McGinniss blushes and says, essentially, “I just know”. He makes a point of saying he’s not accusing the Governor of doing anything like this now, probably because he doesn’t want to be sued for defamation.

The next weird bit reveals what a racist McGinniss must be, because he tells Savannah Smiles it’s a big scandal that Governor Palin allegedly dated a black basketball player before she married Todd — which is a scandal only to the agenda-driven media and hypocrite Leftists like McGinniss because even if the Governor had indeed dated this man, an unmarried woman dating a black man is not a scandal.

Except, of course, to the hypocrite racists in the agenda-driven media who would invent a scandal over that.

McGinniss then says the Governor is not going to run for President because she’s just interested in easy money.

Which is interesting because the Governor turned down about $10 million to film another season of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” for TLC, which would have gone into production this summer and aired next year, but she clearly didn’t take that easy money.  $10 million is a lot of money to turn down for what would essentially be an all-expenses-paid summer long vacation with her family that would then be aired as a TV series promoting herself — if all she was interested in was easy money and attention as McGinniss claims.

Todd Palin is right:  McGinniss is creepy, and many people who came in contact with him while he was in Wasilla agreed with the depiction of him as an obsessed and disingenuous man with an ax to grind.

I have a friend who works at bookstore who is allowed to borrow books for free, and she’s going to lend me McGinniss’ book for a few days so that I can read it, do a write-up on every accusation he makes in it, and then return it. This way, people can know what lies McGinniss has told without them ever having to read this tripe for themselves.  It will be worth staying up all night reading this garbage myself so that other people don’t have to, and so they don’t send any royalties McGinniss’ way from buying his work for use as anything other than toilet paper.

Honestly, McGinniss is one of those people who make you want to take a shower after having watched and listened to him.

Sarah Palin on “The Bob & Mark Show” in Alaska at 930am PST 9/16/11? UPDATE: Bob & Mark Show just playing games, Palin never intended to be on the show

Posted at September 16, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // 2012 Presidential Campaign, Action Items, Hillbuzz, Purple Team - Palin, Sarah Palin

UPDATE 130pm CST 9/16/11: The Bob & Mark Show and station KWHL were just playing games with this.  On the show today, Bob and Mark admitted people were calling the station as early as yesterday afternoon, asking if the Governor would be on.  The station deliberately played coy, telling people they’d just have to listen to find out.  The way the person at the switchboard said this led people to believe there would indeed be an appearance by Governor Palin on the show today. This was picked up by Simon Conway in Iowa, another morning radio host, who blasted it out on his Facebook that Governor Palin would make an announcement today.  People then used FreeRepublic.com to propagate links to that Facebook posting.  I heard about all this at around 240am and put up this posting to investigate whether this was true or not.  It sure sounded plausible the Governor would appear on the radio show, since she’s done that several times before.  But, as you can read below, I questioned how an entry into the race today would fit with the announced GOP presidential debate schedule.

The Governor will announce when she wants to announce, in keeping with her strategy — which at some point in the future I’m sure you will look back on and see why she’s done everything she’s done.  The Governor knows what she’s doing.

Bob and Mark, however, are just playing games and KWHL should know better than to enable them. I don’t know why Simon Conway did what he did, either, but it did lend some excitement to the morning listening in to see if the announcement would be made.

There is no other Republican who generates this sort of excitement, or whose potential appearance on a radio show could make people who never listen to the radio tune in on the off-chance she’ll appear.

Just imagine the explosion of excitement that will occur when she does indeed announce.

*******************************************************************************

ORIGINAL POST 245am CST 9/16/11:

“The Bob & Mark Show” broadcasts out of Anchorage, Alaska, with hosts Bob and Mark on KWHL. [Click here for a link to their site, where you can listen to the broadcast LIVE! ] In the final episode of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” on TLC — which Governor Palin herself produced and had complete creative control over — the Governor promised to let Bob and Mark know, on the air, when she decides to run for president. Since the Governor personally chose to have that bit included in the episode, there has to be a reason for this. “The Bob and Mark Show” broadcasts Monday through Friday.

Though tomorrow is Constitution Day, today’s when Constitution Day is observed in most of the country.  It’s also a day when “The Bob and Mark Show” broadcasts. Many believe the Governor will announce her presidential bid on the show today — since she appears to indeed be scheduled as a guest at 930am PST…which is 1130am CST and 1230pm EST.

I have no idea what will happen on the show, but I’m going to tune in just in case. If you hear anything else pertaining to this, please share the info in this thread. It sure is interesting the Governor is booked on this show, today of all days, since restoring respect for the Constitution is one of the main planks in what’s presumed to be the Governor’s presidential platform.

Tune into “The Bob & Mark Show” to see what happens!

********************************************************

PS: I’ve been trying for a few weeks now to determine if Governor Palin has any public events scheduled for Constitution Day (observed today, or tomorrow 9/17/11). I have not been able to turn up anything, which is intriguing in itself. We don’t know what this means yet — if anything — but I’m sure going to listen to “The Bob & Mark Show” to see if she’s really going to be on, and to listen to what the Governor says if she does in fact appear on the show.

****************************************************************

UPDATE: It looks like the source of this rumor is Simon Conway, who is a drive time radio host in Iowa, who said on Facebook that he saw something posted at a Palin supporting group about the Bob & Mark appearance before it was taken down. Conway seems like he wanted to be the first to say she was going to announce today, so he would get the attention that would come with that. Looking at the GOP schedule of debates, though, I don’t know what to think to be honest.  Rick Perry loses more steam every debate, and the next debate is not until September 22nd.  It sure keeps with Governor Palin’s past announcements to declare her candidacy on a symbolic day like Constitution Day…but it also seems like part of her strategy to keep allowing Perry to further implode before she joins the race. We all know the moment Governor Palin announces, she’ll be the sole focus, and guys like Perry won’t get the vetting and media attention they need as her opponents. The debate after the 22nd is in October, on a day when the Governor is scheduled to give a speech on economics in Korea.

Technically, she could fly back in time to participate in the debate, since she’d make up time on the 14 hour flight back to the States, though I don’t know if she’d be inclined to do this. It seems odd for her to participate in the September 22nd debate, but then skip the one on October 18th, and then rejoin the group a debate after that…unless her intention is to begin participating in the debates after the 18th. That would give her opponents two appearances on the stage without her to attack her, and I don’t see her allowing that to happen though.

I think even the Governor’s detractors need to admit she’s a masterful strategist who keeps everyone guessing. She really brings great excitement to American politics. Honestly, my boyfriend Justin asked what I was typing so late and I told him, and now he’s too excited to sleep and has actually woken his mother up in Arkansas to tell her to listen to this radio show. I told him not to do this, but he’s excited at the mere prospect of Governor Palin announcing today. I don’t think even Mittens Romneycare’s own family are excited by anything he does. Let alone complete strangers.

Can you imagine someone like Justin calling his mother long distance in the middle of the night, waking her up, just to tell her there’s a chance Mitt Romney could be on an obscure radio show in Alaska later that morning — and that she would be excited and happy he did this?

**************************************************

UPDATE: 1130am CST  Trying to listen to Bob & Mark, but the little radio feature of their site won’t work.  Maybe too many people are listening in. If you know of an alternate means of listening, please share.  Is this station picked up on any other internet site people can listen in to?

UPDATE: 1145am CST I finally got the streaming to work, but Bob & Mark are talking about an event being held at the Anchorage Wal-Mart to benefit the Fisher House, which helps soldiers coming back from war recover and readjust to being home. There’s a raffle that’s helping the cause. It’s really nice they’re spending so much time on this cause…I give them a lot of credit because it seems like they’re big supporters of our troops. They’re taking calls now from people….and someone just called and asked if Sarah Palin is going to be on. Chris from Ohio is on now. She asked them if they’re going to have the Governor on, but they say she’s not scheduled.  Todd apparently is moose hunting and they called him yesterday and he had no idea about the Governor being on. Bob & Mark is actually a very fun show…much better than morning radio here in Chicago…but I’m going to stop listening now because it’s clear the Governor will not be on.

UPDATE 1153am CST: So, there you have it.  Simon Conway of Iowa drive time radio started this rumor yesterday on his Facebook page, and we investigated it, but it turns out Simon was wrong and the Governor did not in fact announce on the Bob & Mark Show 9/16/11. Tomorrow is actually Constitution Day, so perhaps something will happen then, but it’s not happening on the Bob & Mark Show today, contrary to what Simon Conway said.

UPDATE: 1210pm CST  Looks like Bob & Mark are now saying Governor Palin will be calling in within the next hour. In the meantime, they’re playing some really great music, if you have nothing to listen to at work.  It’s actually fun.  And exciting wondering what the Governor will say when she calls in.

UPDATE: 1215pm  Before they went to commercial, they said “Sarah, up next”

UPDATE: 1221pm  – they’re promoting a comedy show now, and giving the menu to a restaurant, where they have different sandwiches for $9.95.  You get free onion rings and fries by mentioning the Bob & Mark Show.  Don’t tell Michelle Antoinette Obama though! Sarah Palin is supposed to call in any minute now.

UPDATE: 1225  while they are waiting for her call, they are playing comedy calling-in bits

UPDATE: 1227pm Now they’re saying to someone named April Weatherwood that Governor Palin will not be on the show. [ I think this was recorded earlier though ]. April also said that she called the station’s switchboard yesterday and they said for her to listen in at 1030am CST.

UPDATE: 1230pm CST, where I’m from in Cleveland, the morning radio show people played games all the time…so I honestly have no idea what’s going on or if the Governor really is calling in.  They might just be trying to keep people listening as much as possible, as I bet they’re getting great ratings numbers off this.

UPDATE: 1232pm Now they are playing some kind of hockey song about being a badass in the wild, wild west.

UPDATE: They say that in just a matter of moments Governor Palin is calling in.

UPDATE: 1234pm CST — they have a man pretending to be Sarah Palin, talking about doing a 5 mile run.  Then they start playing the 80s song “Sarah”.  And then they start playing some kind of country music song about a guy divorcing his wife, the song is “I Pray For You”.

UPDATE: 1238pm They’re taking a break again…and not mentioning Governor Palin again…it’s very strange how they are going back and forth like this.  I think they are just playing games.  Now they’re talking about Toyota trucks at some dealership.

UPDATE: 1242pm CST  It’s fun listening to the Alaskan commercials, but I think Bob & Mark are playing games.

UPDATE: 1247pm a young girl in North Carolina said she called into the station yesterday and asked if Governor Palin was going to call in today, and the station wouldn’t tell her either way. Bob & Mark then said that when Governor Palin DOES announce, she will do it on their show, but now they are implying she won’t call in today.

UPDATE: 100pm CST  The Bob & Mark Show was just playing games.  Governor Palin had never agreed to be on.  This was just morning show radio “hijinks”.

At last: Lee Roupas finally resigns as Cook County GOP Chair, after a disgraceful tenure in which the Cocktail Party refused to fire this longtime “Romney Guy”

Posted at September 16, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Chicago Politics, Cocktail Party GOP, Consistent Mistakes, Hillbuzz, Illinois Politics

There’s great news in Chicago today.

Republican News Watch is reporting that disgraced Cook County GOP Chair Lee Roupas has at last resigned, and has now been replaced by Sig Vaznelis, who appears to be someone more up to actually doing something worthwhile in his position.

The reason this is interesting for those of you far from Chicago is that it’s classic Cocktail Party GOP establishment nature to protect guys like Roupas no matter how badly they perform, because these guys are being groomed to replace Cocktail Party guys higher up the cucumber and mayonnaise chain, ensuring the status quo remains the same in Republican ranks indefinitely.

This is what America’s really up against, on a national scale, because every GOP entity at the state, county, and local level is more likely than not run by people who hold these positions for the sheer prestige and honor of holding the position.  They are not interested, at all, in winning elections.  They just want to look fancy in their sharp blue blazers and hand out the nicest, most expensive business cards at networking events.

When one of these guys screws things up royally — as Roupas did repeatedly — the Cocktail Party GOP establishment circles the wagons and protects him for as long as possible, instead of firing him straight away and finding someone more competent who could actually work towards winning elections.  The reasoning in the Cocktail Party ranks is that if any one of them is ever dragged out of office, it could mean the rest of them would be vulnerable like that as well.

This makes the Republican Party’s organization — coast to coast — more like an exclusive fraternity than a political organization focused on winning elections.  In many cases, like here in Chicago, the GOP doesn’t even want to TRY to win elections.  Republicans didn’t even bother to field a candidate for Mayor in this spring’s election.  Roupas and the rest of the Cocktail Party boys here were more focused on planning their next networking event, because they’re only involved with the GOP to see how this involvement can advance and enrich their own personal careers.

They have fun at events, they like posing for pictures, and they use the connections they make in the GOP to build lucrative careers for themselves…just like they’d do in a fraternity at an Ivy League school.

The older fraternity members protect and mentor the younger ones, and donors to the Republican Party at every level fund all of this, even though guys like Roupas have no real intention of ever doing anything to stop the Left or beat Democrats at the ballot box.

In case you haven’t figured it out, guys like Roupas are the biggest supporters of Mittens “Mood Ring” Romneycare because Romney would undoubtedly give them all well-paying, fancy-titled positions on his presidential campaign.  No one really cares if Romney will win or not, because they’re just after new business cards that prove they were important to the campaign, so they can use all this on their resumes for better jobs the next year.

I know nothing about Sig Vaznelis, but there’s no way he can do a worse job as Cook County Chair than Roupas.

But, as bad as Roupas was, I’m sure you’ll see him pop up somewhere again, maybe in another state, since the Cocktail Party tends to recycle these guys and give them endless mulligans whenever and wherever they fail.

If you don’t think Mittens Romneycare is a terrible choice for the 2012 nomination, maybe Jimmy Carter’s endorsement can convince you

Posted at September 16, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Cocktail Party GOP, Hillbuzz, The Soggy Sandwich Society

The second-worst President this country has ever had, and the worst ex-president who’s ever lived, Jimmy Carter, has endorsed Mittens “Mood Ring” Romneycare for the GOP presidential nomination in 2012.

Carter maintains Barack Obama will be re-elected with ease, of course, but then again, Carter thought he’d be re-elected himself, so take that into consideration along with the fact that Carter doesn’t want Obama in the ex-presidents club while he’s still alive, since Obama would steal his remaining thunder as America’s chief critic and primary national embarrassment.

Beginning in 2013, Obama’s going to use his post-presidency to travel the world giving speeches denouncing the United States as much as possible, writing a book every year or so that people will largely ignore, essentially following the Jimmy Carter template for ex-presidents.

If you are someone who even believes on some level that Mittens Romneycare should be the GOP nominee, I’d love for you to chime in below in comments and tell us how Jimmy Carter’s endorsement affects your opinion, if at all.

HillBuzz Open Thread: Friday September 16th, 2011 CONSTITUTION DAY (Observed)

Posted at September 16, 2011 by Justin4HB // Featured Content, Hillbuzz, Open Threads

1991 – The trial of the deposed Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega begins in the United States. I was still in grade school when this was happening, but I remember the US Army blaring rock music at Noriega’s house for hours until he finally surrendered.  I still think it was cool they finally got him out by wheeling giant speakers in front of his mansion.

1919 – The American Legion is incorporated. Today I’m going to read up on exactly what it still does today, since I’ve never known.  This prompts me to remedy that!

1810 – With the Grito de Dolores, Father Miguel Hidalgo begins Mexico’s fight for independence from Spain. Meanwhile, in 2011, the Reconquisto Movement continues to ship unwanted third world peasants from Mexico into the US, where they can resettle and eventually vote in elections to turn large swaths of territory back to Mexico. It’s pretty much the whole point of La Raza, isn’t it?

1620 – The Mayflower starts her voyage to North America. It’s sad, but interesting indeed, to see the West now being colonized itself…in America, by the third world illegal Reconquistas, and in Europe by Muslims who are working to establish a foothold to create a global caliphate. You aren’t supposed to acknowledge or talk about any of this of course, but it’s indeed happening.  The Left knows it, and wants it to happen, since they think this will even the scales historically for all the evils set forth from the landing of the Mayflower and other things normal people celebrate as achievements, but the Left is now teaching in schools were actually great evils.

2011 – Constitution Day (observed) What do YOU think the big story will be today for the history books?

What are people talking about in your part of the country?

What are you doing to get yourself ready to help in your own unique way in the 2012 elections?

Here’s a depiction of the SEIU that Redstate ran yesterday, which is just spot-on perfect.  There’s no artist’s tag, so if you can identify who made this or where it originally came from, we’d love to give the creator the credit she or he deserves because this just solidly says it all about the SEIU in ways the general public can clearly understand.

Note: If you are an artist, always watermark your work in the lower right hand corner somehow, so if people stumble upon excellence like this, they can make sure you get the credit for your ideas and work.  We really wish we knew who made the above, because this logo deserves to be used by everyone whenever writing about the SEIU.

I'm the kid who sat in history class imagining a World of Warcraft-style epic matchup between various historical figures and cryptozoological beasts or classic movie monsters. Calvin Coolidge could have totally schooled The Mummy. Never underestimate Silent Cal. That's all I'm sayin'.
