Former Democrats: What Was The Last Straw?

Posted at September 4, 2011 by Kathleen Gee // 2012 Elections, Debate Prep, Eeyore Breeding, Refudiate Media Attacks, Tea Party

I truly, sincerely want the readers of Hillbuzz to come together to defeat the Marxist-In-Chief. And I try to point out groupthink, eeyorism, and rumormongering with absurdity whenever I can. It’s one thing to familiarize yourself with a candidate’s views–and disagree with them. It’s quite another to unquestioningly swallow LSM propaganda and never make any effort to find out the truth for yourself.

I think about 70% of the crap spread around about Tea Party candidates is the same-old, same-old “you’re a RAAAAACIST and you hate the environment and you want us all to die from polluted air and you hate gay people and you want to kill old people” B.S. put out by paid DNC operatives and repeated ad nauseum on MSNBC, CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, etc. and even Fox News on occasion. Much of the rest is put out by Establishment Cocktail Party candidate’s campaigns and/or supporters.

Sarah Palin has to deal with this B.S. for going on 4 years (“She’s a RAAAAACIST and hates the environment and hates gay people and she’s a quitter and stupid and she thinks she can see Russia from her house.” But even if 70% is manufactured outrage/fear, that leaves a few people on our side who actually believe this stuff that has no basis in reality. And I’m truly baffled as to how to reach out to them.

In this era of sound bites, very few of these people are willing to educate themselves. Learning about foreign policy and monetary policy and economic policy takes time and effort, and most of us who are government-educated didn’t learn any of this in school.

Another thing we didn’t learn in school is critical thinking skills. Hillbuzzers know why Sarah Palin resigned as governor of Alaska. Her family was over $700,000 in debt from legal defense against totally bogus ethics charges filed by her political enemies. Most normal people understand that no one would stay in a job that cost your family five times as much as your salary. But there are plenty of real live conservatives who parrot, “she’s unelectable because she’s a quitter!!” That perjorative label, “quitter,” is enough for some people reading this to throw Sarah Palin on the scrap heap.

So, Hillbuzz readers, all of you put together are smarter than I am by myself. When it comes to Tea Party candidates, how do we get our friends and neighbors to start thinking instead of reacting? How do we get them to start researching instead of parroting?

Have you been through a conversion experience like Kevin DuJan’s? What was your “wake-up call?” When do you remember realizing that you had been sold a bill of goods? What was it that finally broke through years of LSM brainwashing? And how can we use it to reach out to our friends and neighbors who are still getting their information from the LSM?

Brainstorming needed: What’s a great term for describing the part of the gay community that serves as the Left’s goon squad?

Posted at September 4, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Action Items, Gay Bullying, Gold Team - Creativity, Hillbuzz, The Left

UPDATE: Thanks to everyone for the great creativity and inspiration in this thread.  I am forever humbled and blessed by the extreme creativity of those who read HB. I am truly grateful for the ability to run an idea by one of the world’s best focus groups and get such an interesting and effective collection of suggestions.  I don’t know anyone alive who has access to something like this, and I am awed by the willingness to help with these sorts of action items. As a writer I feel like I have this magical window to great oracles, and I really am very thankful for all the suggestions we receive here.

My two favorite ideas in this thread (of many great ones) are:

(a) The Gaystapo

(b) The GayGB

Can you please chime in with your favorite of these two?

Before we switched over to the new server, I used to be able to put up a little poll for you to click on and vote, but I don’t know how to do that anymore…which means we have to just do it the old fashioned way with you commenting on which one you like better:  Gaystapo or GayGB.

Do you think Gaystapo will cause critics to invoke Godwin’s Law?

Is GayGB too hard for some people to get right away (meaning, will it take them too long to realize GayGB is like KGB?)?

What think you?

ORIGINAL POST:

I really need some of your creative help with coining a term for the part of the gay community that actively serves as the Left’s goon squad — the people who serve as the gay complement to the Race Industry and are always ready to call someone in conservative and Christian ranks a HOMOPHOBE or a BIGOT as casually as those like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Henry Gates unfairly label anyone opposing Obama a RAAACIST.

Finding the right term for something is very important, as the Left well knows.  Words have great power.

Amazon has Sarah Palin’s Alaska for just $9.99 for the complete DVD set

Posted at September 4, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Action Items, Hillbuzz, Purple Team - Palin, Sarah Palin, TV - Sarah Palin's Alaska

If you don’t already own the TLC documentary series Sarah Palin’s Alaska, Amazon has it on sale for the very reasonable price of $9.99.

If you don’t want to wait for DVDs to arrive and would prefer watching it streaming, you can do that as well: the Amazon Instant Video version is $1.99/episode or $13.99 for the full 9-episode documentary.

I think Amazon’s Instant Video feature is amazing. I can either watch something streaming, or download it to my computer and watch it that way (and it only takes a few minutes to download completely). I have never had any problem whatsoever using Instant Videos off Amazon.

What a great price for Sarah Palin’s Alaska whether you buy it on DVD or streaming…it is a great show, and now that the weather is getting cooler, it’s going to be fun to watch all the episodes again and relive all the Palin family’s adventures in the beautiful scenery of Alaska.

You betcha!

There are no words to adequately thank the Patriot Guard for what they do to thwart evil on a regular basis

Posted at September 4, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Conservativism, Hall of Heroes, Hillbuzz

My good friend Megan Fox, host of The Megan Fox Radio Show, has been in Oklahoma for a few weeks, since her cousin’s husband was killed in Afghanistan while serving our country.

This brave man was the father of two very small children, who now have to face life without their dad, before they can even read. It’s just heart-breaking.

On top of all this, Megan’s family had to contend with Fred Phelps (five-time-Democrat-candidate-for-office-in-Kansas) and his Westboro Hate Circus, who decided to bring their peculiar brand of emotional terrorism to this serviceman’s funeral, to further traumatize his family.

There are not words to express how horrified I was to hear Phelps and Westboro targeted the funeral of someone dear to a friend of mine. I’ve always been sickened by the traveling Hate Circus that Phelps (a longtime Democrat and strong supporter of Al Gore) conjures wherever families lay fallen soldiers to rest…but to actually know some of the people being emotionally terrorized by these monsters is truly soul-wrenching.

Immediately upon hearing Westboro was coming to disrupt her relative’s funeral, Megan contacted Patriot Guard in Oklahoma and asked them to help thwart Phelps’s trademarked brand of evil.

Of course, they came running barreling down the highway on mighty hogs flying Old Glory like angels’ wings.

As they always do.

I’ll let Megan tell the full story on her own show in the next few days, once she returns to Chicago and gets back to her work, but I just had to note here how grateful I am that Patriot Guard is a part of our world.

I want to learn more about them, and see how people who don’t ride motorcycles can get involved to help their efforts on behalf of families targeted by monsters.

What do you know about Patriot Guard and how regular people can help?

ACTION ITEM: Today’s goal is to assemble the “Fast & Furious” scandal information into one easy to understand place

Posted at September 4, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Action Items, Gold Team - Creativity, Hillbuzz, The Left, Weaknesses

Today’s big project is to assemble the “Fast & Furious” scandal information into one easy to understand place.

The problem right now is that regular people who only casually follow the news don’t have any idea what “Fast & Furious” is, or why it’s such a big deal.

An “elevator speech” is a quick, under two minutes explanation of something that you could tell to a stranger in the amount of time you have together riding in an elevator.  The problem with “Fast & Furious” is that I have not yet seen anyone address the fact that people don’t know what to say about all this to someone who has never heard of the scandal before.

Someone wrote in last night that we should work all this up somehow so that people looking for info on the next Vin Diesel “Fast & Furious” movie stumble upon Obama’s “Fast & Furious” scandal instead.  That would include producing a YouTube video that at first appears to be a movie trailer for the next installment in that series…but in reality gives the details of the Obama scandal.

The media is going to ignore “Fast & Furious” because any coverage hurts Obama, and the media has vowed to protect Obama at all costs.

What do you know about Fast & Furious?

Can you type up YOUR best explanation of this scandal in comments below?

What’s your “elevator speech” on Fast & Furious?

Full text of Governor Sarah Palin’s Indianola, Iowa speech on September 3rd, 2011

Posted at September 4, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // 2012 Presidential Campaign, Action Items, Hillbuzz, Purple Team - Palin, Sarah Palin

Full text of Governor Sarah Palin’s Indianola, Iowa speech on September 3rd, 2011 (as transcribed and emailed by Governor Palin’s staff to supporters):

Thank you, Iowa. Thank you so much. The sign that says, “Thank you, Sarah,” no, I thank you. You are what keeps me going, keeps so many of us going. Your love of country keeps us going. Thank you so much. Iowa, you are good people. You are all good people who are here. Thank you.

It is an honor to be in the Heartland sharing this Labor Day weekend with you. And I thank you so much for the invitation, to these organizers who put so much work into all this. It’s so good to see the O4P and C4P people here today. Last night was fun – getting to run into some of you at that restaurant and to see so many different demographics represented and so many different states all across our great nation. We got to gather together last night – different demographics, different political parties even represented – and Todd reminded me as we walked out of that room, he said, “See, we’re not celebrating ‘red America’ or ‘blue America.’ We’re celebrating red, white, and blue America.”

So, what brought us here today out in this field? Why aren’t we catching a Cyclones game, or watching the Hawkeyes perhaps, or grilling up some venison and corn-on-the-cob, maybe some caribou with some friends on this Labor Day weekend? What brought us together is a love of country. And we see that America is hurting. We’re not willing to just sit back and watch her demise through some “fundamental transformation” of the greatest country on earth. We’re here to stop that transformation and to begin the restoration of the country that we love.

HillBuzz Open Thread: Sunday September 4th, 2011

Posted at September 4, 2011 by Justin4HB // Featured Content, Hillbuzz, Open Threads

1998 – Google is founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, two students at Stanford University. Please stop using Google as a search engine…Google is 100% a tool and weapon of the Left.  Use BING instead.  Google has been caught repeatedly altering search engine results to benefit Obama, and Google often deletes websites from blogger servers it controls if they are anti-Obama.  Don’t support or use Google!

1972 – Mark Spitz becomes the first competitor to win seven medals at a single Olympic Games. Gratuitous retro speedo shot?  Check.

1957 – The Ford Motor Company introduces the Edsel. Kind of like the Democrat Party introducing the “Obama”, right?

1956 – The IBM RAMAC 305 is introduced, the first commercial computer to use magnetic disk storage. When you were growing up, did you have any idea computers would be so small they could fit in our pockets and would become such a part of our lives?

1948 – Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands abdicates for health reasons. Direct message to another queen, the one we’ve got living in the White House right now:  Miss Thang, take a page from Queen Willy back in ’48…or channel a little LBJ…and step aside for health reasons to spare yourself the humiliation that’s coming your way in 2012.  Hope! Change! Time to resign and exile yourself to Hawaii!

I'm the kid who sat in history class imagining a World of Warcraft-style epic matchup between various historical figures and cryptozoological beasts or classic movie monsters. Calvin Coolidge could have totally schooled The Mummy. Never underestimate Silent Cal. That's all I'm sayin'.
