GOP Leadership Shops for Upholstery Fabric for Titanic Deck Chairs

H/T TomLLewis.com
Elected in an historic anti-Democrat landslide in November of 2010, the GOP leadership, who owe their election to profound voter discontent with Democrat party policies in general, and deficit spending and the National Debt in particular, gathered today at a JoAnn Fabrics location in Falls Church, Virginia, to plan their epic capitulation to the losing side in November’s electoral bloodbath.
In a massive show of force, the House GOP leadership today caucused on upholstery fabrics for deck chairs located on the Titanic’s Boat Deck, location of the First and Second Class promenades, and, not coincidentally, the unsinkable ship’s inadequate fleet of lifeboats.
A Congressional aide who spoke on condition of anonymity reported that Speaker of the House John Boehner (R?-Ohio) lobbied for a tasteful polished Chintz from Laura Ashley featuring English ivy and cabbage roses. “It’s an excellent compromise,” the Speaker was quoted as saying. “We don’t want to ruffle the Administration’s feathers with something outlandish. Tomorrow’s another day. We have to be able to play golf these people after the election, after all,” the Speaker is reported to have said.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R+/-, Va.) fought hard for a more durable cotton duck, expressing regret that the Federal government’s current $14.7 trillion dollar deficit made it hard to justify the cost of a Laura Ashley design. “I love cabbage roses as much as the next person,” Cantor was quoted as saying. “But we really need to get practical here. In the few hours we have left before the hull fills with watery death, we’ll need to get as much use out of these deck chairs as possible. Cotton duck is the only rational option. Normally, I would have lobbied for ScotchGard, but in the middle of a fiscal crisis, we need to demonstrate that we’re serious about being good stewards of our Chinese lenders’ money.”
Meanwhile, Mitch McConnell (RINO-Ky.), proposed a plan that would put the Obama adminstration in charge of navigating the ship in a circular pattern that would allow the luxury liner to hit the killer iceberg more than once. McConnell’s plan would also put the Obama White House in charge of assigning seats in the few remaining lifeboats. “That way we can’t be accused of favoritism,” said McConnell. “When this boat crashes into the ocean floor, the Obama administration will totally own that, and the mainstream media will finally stop being mean to use for no reason. There won’t be any way the New York Times can blame this on us.”
Media criticism was a repeated theme in the meeting, leading to contentious arguments that were audible as far away as the Beading & Jewelery-Making and Knitting & Crochet departments. According to an insider who was eavesdropping on the meeting from behind a display of Novelty Cotton Prints and Panels, If there was still time after completing the comprehensive reupholstery project, the GOP leadership reportedly also plans to re-arrange the Titanic’s deck chairs in a way they hope will “make Chris Matthews like us.”
Allen West needs our support
Well…things are really heating up in Washington between Debbie Wasserman Schultz (aka DWS) and Allen West. The Democrats are screaming for Col West to apologize for calling DWS the most “vile” member of Congress and saying that she is “not a lady” (nothing wrong with that….he speaks the truth). The female congressional democrats are especially hot under the menopausal collar (of course). So far…..Mr. West has not apologized.
Good! Please don’t apologize Mr. West!
DWS is using this event to do some major fundraising. A “please give me money to show your support”. Well, Col. West has also asked his supporters to give $25 to show their support for him. I searched the Internet and can’t find the site for his exact request or site where you can give but…I want to give.
I’d like to call for an “Allen West Money Bomb” today so here’s his campaign website link.
If anyone can find another specific site to give to support him in his fight against DWS…please post it in the comments below.
This is a Green Team Action Item.
Allen West is just the kind of person we need in Congress (and the White House).
He’s doesn’t fall for the Washington PC game and he speaks the truth.
Let’s show our support for him and what he stands for.
Go Allen Go!
Joe Walsh…will you marry me?
Where has Joe Walsh been all my life? Finally…someone who can SHUT UP Chris Matthews. You can tell that he came prepared for this interview with Matthews. I love how he continually says “Hey Chris” and “my friend”. He stops Matthews in his tracks. Throws him completely out of sorts. He leaves Matthews stammering and studdering.
Yeah…Chris Matthews….where’s the President’s plan?
Where is it?
Obama doesn’t send a thrill up Joe’s Walsh’s leg.
This man is awesome.
Go Joe Go!!!

Isn’t that a creepy picture? Yikes.
The picture was taken at an SEIU gathering in which Obama was the headline speaker (of course).

Interesting difference in current media headlines
I noticed this afternoons headlines of several online media outlets are very different…..showing that the differences in Fox, CNN and MSNBC are as big as the Continental Divide.
Here are their headlines right now:
Fox “End in Sight for Debt Ceiling Standoff?”
CNN “Brooks: ‘Shocked” at hack of murder victim.” and “How did execs do at hack hearing.”
MSNBC “Obama endorses Gang of Six Deficit Plan” and “Murdoch, Brooks apologetic over phone-hacking”
While Fox was mainly focused on the national debt crisis and how the talks are going (they did have a small piece on the Rupert Murdoch hearings) CNN was all about Murdoch and the hacking scandal. Most of the smaller headlines were also about the hacking hearings. MSNBC was a mix but notice their headline heralds Obama as a hero…”Obama endorses”…as if he has swooped in to save the day.
The Rupert Murdoch hearings have replaced the Casey Anthony trial as the blood thirsty tabloid fav. The LSM would just love to see Mr. Murdoch go down. He won’t though.
I bet Eric Holder is breathing a sigh of relief that the heat of Fast and Furious has been momentarily tabled.
Don’t get too comfortable Mr. Holder….the bloodhounds are still in hot pursuit.
Jane Fonda’s past comes back to haunt.
It looks like QVC has cancelled an appearance by Jane Fonda (to hawk her book) because viewers complained about Fonda’s “communist” past. QVC claims that it’s due to a scheduling conflict but “we the people” have a lot of power. Money talks and QVC listened. I wish they would just admit they didn’t want an anti-American idiot on their station.
Ms. Jane didn’t like their decision one bit….
“Bottom line, this has gone on far too long, this spreading of lies about me! None of it is true. NONE OF IT! I love my country. I have never done anything to hurt my country or the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for us. I do not understand what the far right stands to gain by continuing with these myths.”
Too bad Hanoi….you slithering, slimy communist nut. Nobody cares what you think.

Here’s a trivia question….how many times has Obama attended church since taking office….not including holidays. (I don’t know the answer….so enlighten me).
What do you suppose he’s praying for? Forgiveness? If he’s not, he should be.
