Media Manipulation (And Eeyore Breeding) Alert: Herman Cain on Homosexuality
Those of us in the Pro-America (and thus Anti-Obama) Coalition have to remain eternally vigilant for LSM attempts to divide us. We also have to be aware of the LSM’s efforts to manipulate the GOP primary process and pick another completely beatable John McCain moderate “reach-across-the-aisle” RINO for the GOP nomination.
A comment by Hillbuzz reader /wiz tipped me off to an excerpt from a CBS interview with Herman Cain that includes this quote:
“I believe homosexuality is a sin because I’m a Bible-believing Christian, I believe it’s a sin,” he said. “But I know that some people make that choice. That’s their choice.”
Cain was asked: “So you believe it’s a choice?”
“I believe it is a choice,” he responded.
This put /wiz‘s panties in a bunch, with the implication that this statement completely disqualifies Herman Cain from the Presidency. /wiz reacted with something that seems like knee-jerk Eeyoreism. This provided me with a teachable moment.
(Remember, Eeyores inadvertently demoralize GOP voters by repeating LSM memes like “candidate so-and-so is unelectable,” while Concern Trolls are paid operatives who demoralize us on purpose.)
I don’t believe Herman Cain is bigoted against gay people (certainly not in the same way that the LSM is bigoted against Christians.) As Kevin DuJan has said many times, as a Gay man, he has faced far more abuse and discrimination from Leftists (who want him to die a painful death) than he ever has from Christians (who, at worst, have threatened to pray for him).
Now, why would Lamestream Dinosaur Democrat Media Outlet CBS News want to put a soggy black raincloud of doom over the head of Herman Cain? Why would CBS want Republican and libertarian voters to dismiss this self-made man, who won the first GOP primary in South Carolina, has a track record of turning around failing businesses (and who, P.S., is black)? Why would the LSM want to use social issues to drive a wedge between libertarians and religious conservatives?
If you’ve been following along at home, the answer is “Because the LSM and Democrats (redundancy alert) believe Herman Cain can beat Obama.”
Herman Cain’s religious beliefs are shared by millions of Americans on the “religious Right.” (They aren’t shared by me, as it happens, but more on that in a moment.) I believe this news story was designed to drive a wedge between this segment of the Anti-Obama Coalition and libertarian-leaning GOP voters like myself.
And before Kevin DuJan taught us all about Eeyorism, I would have fallen for it.
If Herman Cain’s religious beliefs bother you, I’d like you to take a deep breath, and give the issue more thought than the LSM wants you to. I expect my take on this will be extremely controversial. But I’m going to go out on a limb and treat Hillbuzz readers like thoughtful, intelligent adults, unlike the LSM. (I realize this is a risky thing to attempt on the Internet. But I think the Buzzverse can handle it.)
The US is $14 TRILLION in debt. US bonds are practically at junk bond status. Real unemployment is at 20%. The US has the highest corporate income taxes in the developed world. Obamacare is 2 years away from destroying the best healthcare system the world has ever seen. The United States is waging an illegal war in Libya, financed with money borrowed from China. 40% of home sales are foreclosures or short sales. Home values have dropped for the 7th straight quarter. The dollar is plummeting in value. Gasoline costs twice as much as it did before The Messiah took office. The US borrows 43 cents of every dollar it spends.
So my question is, given the fact that the US is careening toward the edge of an economic cliff that could destroy the country as we know it, why I should care what Herman Cain (and millions of Christians) think about homosexuality?
On a personal basis, my home has lost over 60% of its value since Teh Won’s ACORN buddies stole the election and installed him in the White House. My income has dropped by about 60% as well. My retirement account has lost 30% of its value. My health insurance premiums have gone up by 26% in two years. I work 12 hours a day to make less than half of what I made three years ago.
It’s against Federal law to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation, and if Herman Cain were elected President, there’s not a thing he could do to change that.
So tell me how Herman Cain’s personal opinion about homosexuality is going to impact my life and ability to make a living. Tell me how his opinion on gayness is going to affect me on a daily basis. Tell me how it will affect the price of gas or the National Debt.
Herman Cain cannot inflict his personal opinion about gayness on me. He’s not my preacher. He can’t excommunicate me for disagreeing with him.
Tell me again what Herman Cain’s personal religious beliefs have to do with unemployment, the plummeting value of the dollar, the unending corruption in Washington, the flight of capital out of the country, $4 gas, the ban on offshore drilling, or selective enforcement of Federal election law by Eric Holder’s Justice Department.
The answer is, as a libertarian, Herman Cain’s personal religious beliefs are immaterial, and of no concern to me, because the First Amendment and Federal law prevent him from inflicting them on me.
Our Founding Fathers were geniuses. They created a public system that would allow for a diversity of private opinions. The Constitution and Bill of Rights protect non-religious people like me from the tyranny of a religious majority. The First Amendment prevents any candidate from inflicting his or her personal beliefs on me.
Remember, the LSM is totally and completely in the tank for Obama. You must evaluate all anti-GOP political coverage in that context.
Recognize this CBS news story for what it is…yet another transparent attempt by the LSM to divide the Anti-Obama Coalition and pick our candidate for us!
How many more times are conservatives and libertarians going to fall for this?

A Welshman from Harvard speaks of American Exceptionalism
A couple of weeks ago, I had the honor and privilege to attend graduation ceremonies at Harvard. I was so impressed with the many speakers that gave speeches that day but none were as wonderful as Adam Price, a welshman who gave the Graduate English Address. All I can say is….wow! His love and respect for America brought tears to my eyes. I was in awe that a man from Wales could speak so patriotically about a country that wasn’t his homeland. He spoke about what makes America great…individualism. That we must work together but never lose our identity. America is the land of opportunity…where anything is possible. We can forge our own paths and make our own destiny.
None of this will be possible if our Government stands in our way. Big government creates small people….which is just what the Obama administration is moving us towards…..a nanny state where everyone is dependent on the government for everything. The government wants to watch our every move and regulate just about everything we do. They want to tell us what car to drive and what kind of foods we can and can’t eat. Isn’t this what we call slavery? How ironic… the first black president wants to bring back slavery.
Adam Price gets it.
The best part?…..Adam got a rousing standing ovation that lasted several minutes. Even though we were sitting in Harvard Yard….on one of the most liberal campuses in the country, I felt like everyone there got it too.
Bravo Mr. Price!
There is hope.

Newt Gingrich’s entire senior campaign staff resigns
It’s being reported that Newt Gingrich’s entire senior staff have quit his 2012 campaign. Not a whole lot more is being said except that Gingrich made a statement (on Facebook no less) that he will continue his bid to become the 2012 GOP nominee….
“I am committed to running the substantive, solutions-oriented campaign I set out to run earlier this spring,” Gingrich wrote. “The campaign begins anew Sunday in Los Angeles.”
Apparently his campaign staff weren’t on board with all of Newt’s solutions…
“When the campaign and the candidate disagree on the path, they’ve got to part ways,” said Rick Tyler, a longtime Gingrich spokesman who was among those who left the campaign.
Hmmm…very mysterious. I guess we’ll know more when these staffers start to say more but as of now, they’re being pretty tight lipped. I think maybe this could be the beginning of the end of Mr. Gingrich’s campaign.
I bet Anthony Weiner is LOVING this little media distraction.

Does vile comedian Christopher Titus threaten Sarah Palin’s life?
The dialogue in question (from the Adam Carolla Show) happens at the 3 minute mark in the clip…..does this disgusting idiot threaten Sarah Palin’s life? Here is the exact quote…
“You know what man? I am going to literally — if she gets elected president, I am going to hang out on the grassy knoll all the time, just loaded and ready — because you know what? It’s for my country. It’s for my country. If I got to sacrifice myself, it’s for my country.”
Sure sounds threatening to me. I think the 3 of these scumbags talking in the video (Adam Carolla, Christopher Titus and some unknown witch) should be ashamed of themselves and Titus should issue a public apology to Governor Palin.
I think we should let him know how we feel.
You can send your comments to Titus here.
Whether you like Sarah Palin or not….this kind of hateful and violent rhetoric has to be punished.
