Illegal immigration debate heats up in Georgia
Things are heating up down south…and I don’t mean the summertime temperatures. On May 13th, Georgia Governor Nathan Deal signed into law HB 87 which will crackdown on illegal immigration. Georgia needs this bill because they have one of the highest percentage of illegal immigrants of any state in the country (the 7th largest amount of illegal immigrants to be exact). The new law adds more criminal charges to illegals who are arrested…similar to the Arizona law. It also would make it a criminal offense to harbor or transport illegal immigrants. This and several other parts of the law were blocked by a federal judge a few days ago but the e-verify clause remains intact and since the Supreme Court upheld the e-verify challenge in May, this part of HB 87 won’t be challenged. This has many in Georgia screaming. Most of south Georgia is agricultural and farmers and politicians (from both sides of the aisle) are not happy. Protest rallies are being held all over the state and things are really getting ugly.
I like to read the Marietta Daily Journal because I used to live in Marietta and it’s a pretty conservative newspaper. They have a columnist named D.A. King who’s specialty is illegal immigration. He is the founder of the Dustin Inman Society which is a group of citizens who educate the public and elected officials on what’s really going on with illegal immigration….especially in Georgia. They know the law and it’s their mission to let the public know when the law isn’t being enforced. Mr. King wrote an article on June 17th titled “ Pro-law Americans turning tide on immigration” that got a lot of people hot under the collar.
Here’s a little piece of his article that sums up what he thinks…..
A recent survey of Georgia farmers requested by the governor revealed that only 5 percent had used the legal method to obtain farm help. They have been using the illegals because they could.
The agriculture industry receives billions of tax dollars in subsidies – and then howls that obeying American immigration law is “too costly.” If we enforce the law we will end up with that famous $10 head of lettuce? Guess what? According to many economists and studies, including one from the respected Center for Immigration Studies in Washington, labor costs comprise only 6 percent of the price consumers pay for fresh produce. If farm wages were allowed to rise 40 percent, and if all the costs were passed on to consumers, the cost to the average household would be only about $8 a year. Much cheaper than the $2.4 billion annual expense Deal cites as Georgia’s cost of subsidizing the illegals.
While his article is very good, what’s most eye-opening and more than a little frightening are the comments at the end. I encourage you to read all of the comments but here’s one of the ones that I find unbelievable…

We have a destiny to fulfill in the land that historically has been ours for forty thousand years. And we’re a new Mestizo nation. And they want us to discuss civil rights. Civil rights. What law made by white men to oppress all of us of color, female and male. This is our homeland. We cannot – we will not- and we must not be made illegal in our own homeland. We are not immigrants that came from another country to another country. We are migrants, free to travel the length and breadth of the Americas because we belong here. We are millions. We just have to survive. We have an aging white America. They are not making babies. They are dying. It’s a matter of time. The explosion is in our population.”
Yikes! Can we stop the invasion? It feels like we are under attack from all sides doesn’t it?
There are a lot of people who want to see America fall.
Perhaps our biggest enemy is living at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

White House lied about the Afghanistan plan?
I know that this won’t come as a surprise to anyone but…the White House has been caught in a blatant lie in regards to the plan to remove troops from Afghanistan. Lt. General John Allen testified yesterday under oath to the Senate Armed Services Committee that the plan that Obama chose was not one of the options presented to him by General Petraeus. Stephen Hayes of the Weekly Standard was quick to pick up on this.
(Weekly Standard) In response to questioning from Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Allen testified that Obama’s decision on the pace and size of Afghanistan withdrawals was “a more aggressive option than that which was presented.”
Graham pressed him. “My question is: Was that a option?”
Allen: “It was not.”
But wait….hasn’t Obama and his administration been telling us that the plan to withdraw troops from Afghanistan was within the range of options presented to him by military advisors? Every quote from White House senior officials says that Obama’s plan falls within the range of options presented to him by General Petraeus yet the new top commander in Afghanistan has said (under oath) that Obama’s plan was not one of the options.
Not only was Obama’s plan not one of the options but top military officials are very worried about the specifics of the timeline.
“Among their greatest concerns: the White House’s insistence that the 2012 drawdown of the remaining 23,000 surge troops be completed by September. That means that drawdown will have to begin in late spring or early summer—a timeline for which there exists no serious military rationale. Afghanistan’s “fighting season” typically lasts from April through November. (Last year, it continued into December because of warmer than usual temperatures.) So if the White House were to go forward with its policy as presented, the largest contingent of surge troops would be withdrawn during the heart of next year’s fighting season.”
Hmmmm…the military is concerned about withdrawing troops by September 2012 because it’s a security risk for our troops but Obama doesn’t care about that. He only cares about being re-elected in November of 2012. The GOP should be howling over this little detail.
It’s so disgusting to me that Obama would put politics before the well being of our troops.
November 2012 can’t get here soon enough.

Intercontinental Hotel under attack in Kabul
This is breaking news and as far as I can tell, the attacks are still going on. The Taliban are claiming credit and CNN and other news outlets are comparing it to the attacks in Mumbai.
Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) — Fighters armed with bombs and small arms attacked Kabul’s InterContinental Hotel, where they fought Tuesday with Afghan security forces, Chief of Criminal Investigation Mohammed Zahir told CNN.
Among the attackers were suicide bombers, he said.
Taliban bombers were responsible for the 10 p.m. attack on the hotel, Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said.
Initial reports indicate that multiple suicide bombers, mostly likely wearing explosive vests, carried out the attack, a U.S. military official told CNN. There were no indications that U.S. military or diplomatic personnel were at the hotel, the official said.
The death toll so far is 10 but I expect this to climb. What a mess. Afghanistan is such a quagmire of evil.
Is this an “in your face” to Obama’s troop withdrawal plan? Is the Taliban trying to make the point that they are in charge in Afghanistan and the US can go to hell? Let’s face it….they’re Muslim so who the hell knows what they are thinking. They’re so crazy and messed up that it futile to try and figure out what’s really going on.
But the good news is that Iran is claiming that they have missiles that can reach all they’re favorite targets….including the US.
Love that Religion of Peace.
Oh happy day!
“Why I’m a Democrat”…priceless
There’s a video that’s been floating around that features young people (supposedly college students, I think). They each state why they are a democrat. It was featured on Ace of Spades yesterday (it even inspired a top ten list) and on Moonbattery. Glenn Beck did a 10 minute segment about it on his television show. The producers have pulled it off of Vimeo probably because it was being ripped apart by people with common sense. Dave Blount of Moonbattery managed to find it somewhere else so he posted it on his website last night. Here it is…
“Why I’m a Democrat. The video.”
Hurry up and watch it before it disappears again.
Great example of young lefty parrots….they just spit out the same old sad tag lines.
I wonder if their parents are proud of them?
Did they send them off to college with these ideas?
Do they realize that they have paid upwards of $50,000 per year for their kids to be taught this garbage?
My favorite line in this video…”I’m a democrat because America is a democracy, not a theocracy”.
Wow…I’m speechless.
What are your favorite lines in this video?

New GOP Governors are getting the job done.
I read an article in Saturday’s Wall Street Journal’s that really laid out the big picture for where America should be heading. It was written by Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell and it was one of the best op-ed’s I have ever read. He reviewed what the new GOP governors have been doing to bring their states back from the brink of economic disaster. The new GOP governors that he spotlights are ones that took over for an outgoing Democratic governor. Their states were on the verge of economic meltdowns with huge debts and underfunded pension funds. They have been quietly going about their business…doing the job that they were elected to do…and with great success. Only a couple of governors have been getting a lot of attention, Governor Chris Christie and Governor Scott Walker….but that’s because they have taken on the unions and unions have big mouths and won’t go down quietly.
Here’s a list of the governor’s and their accomplishments to date.
Governor Bob McDonnell (Virginia): He brought the state’s spending back to its 2006
level and put a hiring freeze on state government employees. He refused a $1.8 million tax hike that had
been proposed by his predecessor, Tim Kaine. When Governor McDonnell took office the state had a budget shortfall of $6 million but after only a few months, they now have a budget surplus and the unemployment rate has fallen from 7.2% to 6%.
Governor John Kasich (Ohio): He is just about to get his Jobs Budget passed which would close an $8 million deficit while still keeping an income tax cut for his state.
Governor Scott Walker (Wisconsin): We all know about the new law that limits the union member‘s
collective bargaining rights but Governor Walker is getting ready to sign a budget that would turn a $3.6 billion deficit into a $300 million surplus. The business community loves this and already 25,000 new private sector jobs have been created.
Governor Rick Snyder (Michigan): He has eliminated the Anticompetitive Business Tax and has balanced the budget by reducing spending by almost $1.2 billion.
Governor Rick Scott (Florida): He eliminated a record $615 million from the state’s budget, signed
a corporate income tax cut and added millions to Florida’s rainy day fund. The state’s unemployment rate has dropped steadily every month he has been in office.
Governor Chris Christie (New Jersey): We all know that Governor Christie can take on the unions like no one else. This week he signed a bill that will reform the state’s public- employee benefits. Their pension funds were grossly underfunded and the state’s health care obligations to their employees put a huge burden on the state’s budget.
So, as you can see…things are getting done. These states are examples of what direction the country needs to go. It’s happening right in front of our eyes yet the main stream media doesn’t report the positive results that come from good economic policies. We only hear about the “poor union worker that will have to pay a little more for their healthcare” or that the new conservative healthcare policies will “kill your grandmother”.
These governors are proof that these sound economic policies work. I hope America is paying
attention to what these gentlemen are doing because 2012 is just around the corner.
We literally can’t afford 4 more years of Obama.
NYT’s David Carr and weasel Bill Maher think most of America are stupid and have “low-sloping” foreheads”
I didn’t see this exchange live because I absolutely HATE Bill Maher and refuse to watch his show….I think he’s a pathetic lost soul…with a little evil thrown in. I ran across this story on Real Clear Politics. It left me speechless. Please watch the video clip here (I can’t get the video embedded). The two idiotic lefty elitists are yucking it up over what Chris Christie is doing in New Jersey and in the course of the conversation, Bill Maher says that states like Alabama and Kansas are stupid but he can’t understand why New Jersey (a smart state) allows Chris Christie to continue moving the state to the right. David Carr (of the New York Times) goes on to say that people from Kansas and Missouri have “low-sloping” foreheads. I assume this means that they are stupid (I’ve never heard this phrase before).
Well, well….this is what we are dealing with in the 2012 election. I was livid after watching the clip but then I started to laugh. They are doing us a HUGE favor. If these bozo’s continue saying things like this about the American people, it doesn’t matter who the GOP nominee is….people are going to vote against the left just because they are pissed off. It’s a free GOP campaign ad.
So…
Wake up America.
This is the left.
These are the progressives.
This is the Democratic Party.
