Glenn Beck’s excellent new adventure
Rumors…rumors…rumors….everywhere. It appears that Glenn Beck is going to transition from his television show that airs at 5pm on Fox to another venture project with Fox. Of course… the left-leaning main stream media is salivating over this…claiming that Fox has fired Glenn because his ratings have dropped and advertisers have boycotted his show (is any of this true?). After reading several press releases….it sounds to me like Fox and Glenn are working on another joint project.
(GlennBeck.com) NEW YORK— FOX News and Mercury Radio Arts, Glenn Beck’s production company, are proud to announce that they will work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the FOX News Channel (FNC) as well as content for other platforms including FOX News’ digital properties. Glenn intends to transition off of his daily program, the third highest rated in all of cable news, later this year.
Roger Ailes, Chairman and CEO of FOX News said, “Glenn Beck is a powerful communicator, a creative entrepreneur and a true success by anybody’s standards. I look forward to continuing to work with him.”
Glenn Beck said, “I truly believe that America owes a lot to Roger Ailes and FOX News. I cannot repay Roger for the lessons I’ve learned and will continue to learn from him and I look forward to starting this new phase of our partnership.”
Joel Cheatwood, SVP/Development at FOX News, will be joining Mercury Radio Arts effective April 24, 2011. Part of his role as EVP will be to manage the partnership and serve as a liaison with FOX News.
Ailes said, “Joel is a good friend and one of the most talented and creative executives in the business. Over the past four years I have consistently valued his input and advice and that will not stop as we work with him in his new role.”
“Glenn Beck” is consistently the third highest rated program on cable news. For the 27 months that “Glenn Beck” has aired on FOX News, the program has averaged more than 2.2 million total viewers and 563,000 viewers 25-54 years old, numbers normally associated with shows airing in primetime, not at 5pm. “Glenn Beck” has dominated all of its cable news competitors since launch.
Sounds like a win-win for everyone.
Go Glenn Go!
Extreme tree hugging
I thought you could use a little lunchtime entertainment. I had to watch this video a few times to make sure that these people were for real. I mean…..I love trees and flowers and plants and all things nature but this is over the top. I hate to make fun of people but this is a little crazy. I kept expecting the little men in white coats to show up.
Just a little something to brighten your day.
Happy Wednesday!
Ann Barnhardt rakes Lindsey Graham over the coals…LOVE IT!
Thanks Hillbuzzers for enlightening me about Ann Barnhardt…my new hero. She is so awesome that I thought she deserved a post of her own. She is spot on about Graham (that moronic wimp who calls himself an American…..please).
I am ashamed that Lindsey Graham represents the great state of South Carolina. We can do better.
How many times does she call him “jackass”? Terrific!
Go Ann Go!
Wisconsin Supreme Court race too close to call
I was up very late last night watching the election returns for the Wisconsin Supreme Court and since I don’t live anywhere near Wisconsin…I had to follow it through Twitter. I gave up watching around midnight. This is a race between Justice David Prosser ( a conservative Scott Walker supporter) and leftist pro-union pawn JoAnn Kloppenburg. A few months ago, this wouldn’t have been a close race. Justice Prosser was predicted to win fairly easily, but because of Gov. Walker’s new legislation that would strip the public unions of collective bargaining rights, the union thugs climbed out of their holes and put their full force behind Kloppenburg.
(Politico)
The race for a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court that has become a proxy for the state’s fight over public sector unions was too close to call as of early Wednesday morning, and the vote appears headed for a recount. With 99 percent of precincts reporting, incumbent conservative Justice David Prosser leads challenger JoAnne Kloppenberg by 585 votes out of the 1.4 million votes cast. The Associated Press stopped counting votes just before 3 a.m. ET.
Just two months ago, Prosser’s easy win of a second 10-year term on the high court would have been a foregone conclusion. In a nonpartisan primary in February, Prosser won 55 percent of the vote, while Kloppenburg, an assistant state attorney general, came in second with 28 percent.
But Republican Gov. Scott Walker’s legislation curtailing the collective bargaining rights of public sector unions reframed the race as a referendum on the controversial law, which he signed in March after the Republican majority in the state Senate forced a vote with no Democrats present.

More than $5 million in outside money from both sides has been poured into the race, from labor unions, progressive activists, tea party groups and businesses. Blogs across the political spectrum have been abuzz and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin weighed in to voice her support for Prosser. Election officials in Madison, Milwaukee and throughout much of the rest of the state observed higher-than-usual voter turnout for the kind of election that typically brings out only the most dedicated of voters.
I hate waiting.

Yep…I’m feeling like a mean girl today so watch out.

There’s a new strategy to cut down the number of illegal immigrants caught crossing our border.
Notice that the title of this post doesn’t say “cut down the number of illegal immigrants crossing the border”…that’s because the new strategy doesn’t actually cut the number of illegal immigrants but….it will cut down on the actual number caught. According to federal agents….they have been told to reduce the number of arrests they are making of immigrants trying to cross the border into the US.
(Fox) An Arizona sheriff says U.S. Border Patrol officials have repeatedly told him they have been ordered to reduce — at times even stop — arrests of illegal immigrants caught trying to cross the U.S. border.
Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever told FoxNews.com that a supervisor with the U.S. Border Patrol told him as recently as this month that the federal agency’s office on Arizona’s southern border was under orders to keep apprehension numbers down during specific reporting time periods.
“The senior supervisor agent is telling me about how their mission is now to scare people back,” Dever said in an interview with FoxNews.com. “He said, ‘I had to go back to my guys and tell them not to catch anybody, that their job is to chase people away. … They were not to catch anyone, arrest anyone. Their job was to set up posture, to intimidate people, to get them to go back.”
Dever said his recent conversation with the Border Patrol supervisor was the latest in a series of communications on the subject that he has had with various federal agents over the last two years. Dever said he plans to relay the substance of these conversations when he testifies under oath next month before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
What? Really? Scare them away?
Good job Janet. Great plan to secure that border.
I feel safer already.
Time Magazine’s Bobby Ghosh thinks the Bible is just a storybook.
Bobby Ghosh is an editor for Time Magazine and he appeared on Hardball a couple of days ago to discuss the Koran burning in Florida. Listen carefully to the above YouTube clip of the show.
Here is the quote that I’m really irked about…..
Mr. Ghosh says , “The thing to keep in mind that`s very important here is that the Koran to Muslims, it is not — it is not the same as the Bible to Christians. The Bible is a book written by men. It is acknowledged by Christians that it is written by men. It`s the story of Jesus. The Koran, if you are a believer, if you`re a Muslim, the Koran is directly the word of God, not written by man. It is transcribed, is directly the word of God. That makes it sacred in a way that it`s hard to understand if you`re not Muslim.”
Of course the Bible is written by men. The Koran was also written by men. What he is saying is that Christians just see the Bible as a nice little story about a man named Jesus. He seems to think that Christians do not consider the Bible the word of God so burning a Bible would be ok since it’s just a book. On the other hand….he gives those lunatic radical Muslims a pass for their murderous rage when a Koran is burned because Muslims consider it the word of God.
This is absolutely ridiculous and it’s an in-your-face example of what many leftist non-Christian media types think of Christianity. It means nothing to them so therefore…it should mean nothing to everyone else.
Hey Bobby…news flash…the Bible is THE word of God and it should be sacred to ALL.
It’s the word of a kind and loving God. A God who does not call for the murder of innocent people. A God who cares about and loves everyone. A God who forgives…..forgives even you.
Remember that.
Attack of the Spam Monster….Part 2
Ok folks……I’m trying to weed through the spam as fast as I can but there are some posts that I can’t get out of the spam folder because I am not the administrator of the site. I wish I knew why but I don’t. I just want you to know that I am not censoring any of your posts….if they don’t show up in the comments section then it means that for some reason, the spam monster ate it permanently. It’s very frustrating.
The good news is that the new site will be up in just a few days. Kevin has been busting his butt to get it going and..believe me….it will be well worth the wait.
Thanks for your patience. Bridget
