Recall efforts are underway for AWOL Wisconsin Senators

Posted at February 22, 2011 by Bridget // Alinsky Methods, Hillbuzz, Politicizing, Tea Party, The American Reistance, The Left

Robert Wirch (D-Pleasant Prairie)...hiding under a rock somewhere

A Wisconsin newspaper is reporting that residents are beginning to form committees to recall the senators who went missing this past week.  So far, not one of the senators has slithered home but I bet it won’t be long.  I would love to be at one of their town hall meeting when they finally have to face their constituents.  Yow!

One particular senator (Robert Wirch) had better wear a wig to disguise himself because, according to news reports,  the residents in his district are hopping mad.

BURLINGTON - Cheryl Herrick, 51, of Burlington, has a message for her “missing” state senator, Sen. Robert Wirch, D-Pleasant Prairie. “Come back and vote,” said Herrick, who works in retail. “Elections have consequences.”

Wirch, who represents Burlington and most of Kenosha County, is one of the 14 senate Democrats who fled Madison last week when the state Senate was scheduled to take a vote on Gov. Scott Walker’s proposal to essentially eliminate collective bargaining for public workers.

Wirch has not returned calls for comment for several days.

In downtown Burlington on Monday, the consensus among area residents selected at random was that Wirch should go back and vote. Many, including Herrick, said they would like to see Wirch recalled for avoiding his vote. By running away, he is not doing his job, said Kellie Kerkman, 39, of Burlington.

“All I see is this teaching our younger generation to run away from problems. It’s time to grow up,” said Kerkman, who owns Kerkman’s SplitEnds, a hair salon at 316 N Pine St.

Down the street, Carl Schultz, 61, of Twin Lakes, said Wirch should be fired for avoiding “his responsibility.”

He recalled firing a worker from his car part manufacturing business, Five Star Fabricating, for repeatedly missing work after receiving multiple warnings, he said.

“If they are hired to do a job, they should be there,” said Schultz, who feels that way about his employees and his state legislators.

And the possibility of a recall may become a reality.

Dan Hunt, 51, of Pleasant Prairie, where Wirch lives, is looking into forming a committee to recall the senator. So far he has 175 volunteers who have signed up to help circulate petitions to recall Wirch, he said as of Monday afternoon, but he said he would need about 300 volunteers to successfully launch a campaign. According to the Government Accountability Board he would need about 15,000 signatures for a recall election.

For now, Hunt said, he is waiting to see if Wirch goes back to vote.

“The longer he stays away, the greater the likelihood,” Hunt said of a recall effort

I say recall them all!

American Bar Association is fighting for Sharia law in the US

Posted at February 22, 2011 by Bridget // Essays - Islam, Hillbuzz, Unveiling Islam

(h/t Al Noor)

I’m dumbfounded by this one….although I have to consider that it is the ABA so I shouldn’t be surprised.  How on earth could the American Bar Association argue for something that so un-American?

(from American Thinker)

The American Bar Association (ABA) has decided to undertake the fight for Sharia law. The ABA’s Executive Counsel “has organized a Task Force to review the legislation of 14 states — Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming — in which anti-Sharia legislation has been introduced.”

The goal of the ABA’s Task Force is to fight against these legislative initiatives by free people, and to develop “an informal set of ‘talking points’ that local opponents of these initiatives could use to make their case in each of these states.”
Here’s the relevant extract from the ABA’s International Policies 2010:

Oklahoma referendum related Rule of Law initiatives.

The Section’s Executive Counsel has organized a Task Force to review the legislation of 14 states — Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming – in which anti-Sharia legislation has been introduced.  The goal of the Task Force is to have a Report and Recommendation against such legislation as well as an informal set of “talking points” that local opponents of these initiatives could use to make their case in each of these states.  We received a lot of interest from members and have forwarded your interest.  At this point, the task force is in the planning and organizing stage. We will keep you updated as to the progress and we may call upon some of you who expressed their interest in this matter to volunteer.

In reality, Islamic law is the most radical and intolerant system of governance on the face of the earth. It denies the freedom of speech, the freedom of conscience, and legal equality for women and non-Muslims. That’s why so many states are trying to ban it. The ABA should be on the forefront of this battle. The Oklahoma ban was brilliant but poorly worded (which is why a liberal judge found it so easy to overrule the will of the people) and had 70% of voters approving of it — it is clear that American people understand the Islamic threat to our constitutional republic.

Instead, our cultural warlords in the mainstream media, academia and entertainment strictly enforce the blasphemy laws of Islam, which command that one must not insult or slander Islam. In Muslim countries, blasphemy is punishable by death; in the West, it is your character that is assassinated if you dare to speak out against the Islamic supremacist agenda. Our last line of defense was always the rule of law. So it is particularly jarring and deeply disturbing to come upon this latest initiative from the ABA, the last line of defense against sharia creep.

Furthermore, the ABA’s “Middle East Law committee” has promoted Sharia finance for some time, with the same warmly positive slant.

Unfortunately, the ABA is not alone in this. In late January, New York State Senator Kevin Parker introduced a bill to set up an alternative bond market that would comply with Islamic law regarding financial transactions.

Has Kevin Parker ever heard of the separation of church and state, or in this case, mosque and state? I’ll be damned before my hard-earned taxpayer dollars go to zakat (jihad), or to the prohibition of pork, alcohol, and some forms of adult entertainment.

This is the financial jihad.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles City Council passed a resolution recently that decried “Islamophobia.”

The term “Islamophobia” itself is an enforcement of Islamic blasphemy laws. Islamic law commands that there be no candor about Islam or criticism of Islam. Any truthful statements about Islamic supremacism and violence are considered blasphemy. That’s why it is shocking that Los Angeles, which is just this side of Sodom and Gomorrah, is passing resolutions that accord with Islamic law. No one in America cares what and who you worship; just don’t force it upon us. I don’t care if you worship a stone, just don’t stone me with it. And stop telling us how many Muslims don’t commit jihadi acts. Of course they don’t. So what? I don’t believe in rewarding people for doing the right thing. I don’t believe in congratulating people for not committing acts of violence against people outside their religion.

Thus the Los Angeles City Council’s passage of this resolution opposing “Islamophobia” and repudiating violence against Muslims is a step back centuries into the dark ages. According to the FBI, “hate crime” against Muslims is at its lowest in a decade, but acts of jihad are accelerating at warp speed. Yet the Los Angeles City Council passes no resolutions against jihad, honor killings, misogyny, gender apartheid, Islamic antisemitism, kuffarophobia, etc.

Sharia is being imposed across state lines, across the country, by way of these varying initiatives. We must push back.

And the ABA has nothing to say about any of this; it is too busy fighting against anti-Sharia, pro-freedom laws. It is yet another terrible sign of a morally inverted world

I bet the ABA is getting paid a pretty penny to fight the anti Sharia initiatives.

Once again, I urge you to write your state representative about introducing anti Sharia initiatives.

We won’t go down without a fight.

This video was shot at a town hall meeting that Congressman West hosted last night in Pompano Beach.  The man asking the question is an executive from CAIR.  Once again, Congressman West is truly the man of the hour.

Awesome.

Simply awesome.

Governor Scott Walker’s getting death threats on Twitter

Posted at February 22, 2011 by Bridget // Climate of Hate, Hillbuzz, The Left, Unions

Don’t people ever learn?  I know that Governor Walker is getting hundreds of threats via email but putting them up on Twitter for the world to see is a little bold.  I bet that most of these threats are from kids who haven’t a clue as to what’s really going on in this world.  They are just spitting back out what they have heard from their progressive teachers.

Hey Wisconsin….this is who’s teaching your children…

Progressive Wisconsin teachers do not care about the kids

Homeschooling is always an option.

Gang of 4 Muslim Monsters slash teacher’s face and fracture his skull

Posted at February 21, 2011 by Bridget // Essays - Islam, Hillbuzz, No Pattern Here, Unveiling Islam

Shariah...a deadly disease

A religious education teacher in the UK was brutally attacked this past July because he was doing his job.  A gang of 4 Muslim maniacs decided to attack this teacher because he was teaching their sisters religions other than Islam.  This teacher is a religious education teacher so it’s his job to teach about all religions.  The teacher survived the attack but not without major trauma to his face and skull.

Here’s what a British paper was reporting today….

Four men launched a horrific attack on a teacher in which they slashed his face and left him with a fractured skull because they did not approve of him teaching religion to Muslim girls.

Akmol Hussein, 26, Sheikh Rashid, 27, Azad Hussain, 25, and Simon Alam, 19, attacked Gary Smith with a Stanley knife, an iron rod and a block of cement.

Mr Smith, who is head of religious education at Central Foundation Girls’ School in Bow, east London, also suffered a fractured skull.

The four now face a jail sentence.

Detectives made secret recordings of the gang’s plot to attack Mr Smith prior to the brutal assault.

The covert audio probe captured the gang condemning Mr Smith for ‘teaching other religions to our sisters’, the court heard.

The RE teacher was targeted as he made his way on foot along Burdett Road in nearby Mile End on July 12 last year, Snaresbrook Crown Court was told.

Prosecutor Sarah Whitehouse told the court: ‘The evidence from what was said on the probe points overwhelmingly to a religious motive for this attack.’

It is believed the gang had made two earlier attempts to get at the teacher.

They were due to stand trial for the attack at Snaresbrook Crown Court but pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Religion of Peace?

I hope these 4 thugs go to jail for a long time.

A very very long time.

Will Libya fall?

Posted at February 21, 2011 by Bridget // Foreign Policy, Hillbuzz, White House Policy

I think the better question would be “when will Libya fall?”  It appears that the anti-government protests have moved from the small outlying cities to Tripoli causing the police (and Qaddafi) to panic and go into protective mode.  Hundreds have been killed during the protests.  Libya has been fighting back much harder than Tunisia and Egypt but the big question is….how long will the police and military continue to back Qaddafi?  As soon as that tide turns…Libya will fall.

(from Fox)

Libyan protesters celebrated in the streets of Benghazi on Monday, claiming control of the country’s second largest city after bloody fighting, and anti-government unrest spread to the capital with clashes in Tripoli’s main square for the first time. Muammar al-Qaddafi’s son vowed that his father and security forces would fight “until the last bullet.”

Even as Seif al-Islam Qaddafi spoke on state TV Sunday night, clashes were raging in and around Tripoli’s central Green Square, lasting until dawn Monday, witnesses said. They reported snipers opening fire on crowds trying to seize the square, and Qaddafi supporters speeding through in vehicles, shooting and running over protesters. Before dawn, protesters took over the offices of two of the multiple state-run satellite news channels, witnesses said.

A major government building in the capital was on fire Monday morning, a Reuters reporter said. The building is where the General People’s Congress, or parliament, meets when it is in session in Tripoli.

Smoke was also rising from two sites in Tripoli where a police station and a security forces bases are located, said Rehab, a lawyer watching from the roof of her home.

The city on Monday was shut down and streets empty, with schools, government offices and most shops closed except a few bakeries serving residents hunkered down in their houses, she said, speaking on condition she be identified only by her first name.

The protests and violence were the heaviest yet in the capital of 2 million people, a sign of how unrest was spreading after six days of demonstrations in eastern cities demanding the end of the elder Qaddafi’s rule.

Qaddafi’s regime has unleashed the bloodiest crackdown of any Arab country against the wave of protests sweeping the region, which toppled the leaders of Egypt and Tunisia. More than 200 have been killed in Libya, according to medical officials, human rights groups and exiled dissidents.

The spiraling turmoil in Libya, an OPEC country that is a significant oil supplier to Europe, was raising international alarm. Oil prices jumped $1.67 to nearly $88 a barrel Monday amid investor concern over the turmoil.

EU foreign ministers said on Monday they will prepare for the possible evacuation of European citizens from Libya. European firms have taken the lead in developing Libya’s oil industry. About 500 Libyans attacked a South Korean-run construction site near Tripoli on Monday, triggering a clash that left five people injured, Seoul’s Foreign Ministry said.

The Internet has been largely shut down, residents can no longer make international calls from land lines and journalists cannot work freely, but eyewitness reports trickling out of the country suggested that protesters were fighting back more forcefully against the Middle East’s longest-serving leader. Most witnesses and residents spoke on condition of anonymity out of fear of retaliation.

It won’t be long.

Goodbye Qaddafi.
