“Obama Sucks” carved into walls in unexpected Chicago places

Yesterday, Justin had to go to Ford City Mall to return something his parents had bought him from there. It’s a crumbling, almost abandoned mall in Cicero, near Midway Airport. 90% of the shoppers there are black. One cashier we spoke with called it “the mall white people used to go to”.

I was stunned to find the above grafitti carved into a partition wall in the men’s room.

“Obama sucks”.

If this had been Man’s Country in Andersonville, Globe Magazine reports would have given that a whole other meaning…but in this part of Chicago it seems to mean that while black support for Obama remains at a stunning 90%, not everyone is still rolling on the hopeychange bandwagon in Chicago’s black neighborhoods.

If people think Obama sucks enough to take the time to carve that into the wall of men’s room, instead of a dirty limerick or a something else ribald, then there’s real anger out there against him manifesting itself in these little ways.

Have you noticed anything like this where you live too?

Obama State of the Union Address ratings down 11% from last year

Posted at January 27, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Hillbuzz, Political Figures - The Left, President Barack Obama, The Left

http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/01/26/obama-address-viewership-falls-from-last-year/

His ratings are down 11% from last year on a night when no counterprogramming explains that loss and all major broadcast and the cable networks all dutifully carried the speech.

He’s down 18% from 2009 for those counting.

What do you think that means?

For those of you who listen to him speak, how do you do it?

I mean that.

I am surprised he only had the 11% drop. His voice and repetitious speech pattern are just so grating. Those of you who can sit through large chunks of him droning are marvels to me.

Thursday Open Thread: January 27th, 2011

Countdown to the new site

What’s on your minds this Thursday?

What are people talking about in your part of the country?

***************************************************

NOTE: We’re going to be moving to our new site in the very near future.  We don’t know what day it will happen, but it will be sometime around the first week of February, maybe sooner if we can get things together before then.  This is a project two years in the making for us, and we’re very exciting.  Should you have problems loading the site in the next few days, or see a day where we aren’t posting anything, it’s most likely due to the transfer to the new server away from WordPress.  There’s a lot of work to do in the next few weeks to make this happen, so just remember whatever down time we might have will be short.

If honor killing was legal in America, who would survive?

Posted at January 26, 2011 by Bridget // Essays - Islam, Hillbuzz, Unveiling Islam

Someone tweeted this statement the other day and it really made me think.  If honor killing was legal in America, who would survive?   Well?

Faleh Almaleki and his daughter Noor

A man in Arizona is on trial for the honor killing of his 20 year old daughter.  This murder originally got some national attention but now seems to only be getting local media attention.  This is the case of a father (Faleh Almaleki) who plowed over his daughter (Noor Almaleki) and another woman in a parking lot in Peoria, Arizona back in 2009.  Family members say that the father was angry with the daughter because she was becoming too westernized and wouldn’t adhere to strict Muslim traditions.  After the incident, he sped off and left the country.  He was arrested in London and was brought back to Arizona to face charges.   I will continue to follow the progress of this trial and give you updates as they are reported.

Noor Almaleki with friends at her 20th (and final) birthday party

Honor killings are commonplace in the Arab world but it is something new to our country.  There have been several cases of these killings over the last few years and they all send a chill down my spine.  This is precisely why Sharia law can never creep into this country.  We can never make an exception for murder in the name of  religion or culture or beliefs.  We are a country of  laws and our citizens are protected by laws and anyone who is here must abide by them.  So, I’ll ask the question again…

If honor killings were legal in America, who would survive?

Not me.

SCARY: Egyptian president’s son and family flee to Britain

Posted at January 26, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Breaking News, Featured Content, Hillbuzz

This is really scary:  Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak’s son and family have fled to Britain, which must mean Mubarak’s not 100% certain he can hang onto power there.

That’s a frightening thought for a great many reasons, most of all because an Islamist government replacing Mubarak’s regime would be bad news for Israel.

All of this under the watch of Obama, oh he of the Hope and the Change and the bowing to Islam.

American Thinker: Ten Reasons to Support a Herman Cain Campaign

Posted at January 26, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // 2012 Elections, Conservativism, Hillbuzz, Political Figures - The Right, Tea Party

Herman Cain is an excellent choice for Governor somewhere...but he needs to hold an elected office first before he can run for president.

The number one reason NOT to support a Herman Cain campaign for president needs to be said before we get to why he would be an excellent and invigorating candidate: but sadly the man has never held any elected office.

I don’t think “President of the United States” is the first office someone should ever hold. Be a Mayor. Serve as a Governor. Then run for President.

But, to be honest, I don’t think someone serving in Congress is much of a qualifier either, as Obama has proved. We need a Chief Executive who has been an actual chief executive at a lower level. You don’t take a high school athlete and put him in the major leagues until he’s had a lot of seasoning on the field, and as talented as Herman Cain is, his presidential ambitions feel like a very promising eighth grade pitcher thinking his next stop is playing for the New York Yankees. I’d like to see him play on the college varsity team first.

I’m gay and not all into sports so I hope I didn’t whiff the very apt analogy.

That said, I really enjoy Herman Cain and love that he is a part of our political world. C. Edmund Wright over at American Thinker has a great piece up today giving the Top Ten reasons why he thinks Cain would be a great presidential candidate, even if he doesn’t go on to win the nomination.

Please read this excellent piece and come back here afterwards.

Having Cain in the race is brilliant, politically, because he is the polar opposite of the soggy sandwich Cocktail Party Republican crowd.  Wright notes that “Cain will only reach across the aisle to smack someone down”, which is the attitude Republicans need to always take.

This whole “bipartisanship” nonsense is a giant scam engineered by the Left and media (redundancy alert!) to turn Republicans into Democrats-lite.  I can think of no instances where Democrats became “bipartisan” and walked across the aisle to do what’s right for this country.  Instead, they are constantly pulling a center-right country Left, and the Cocktail Party establishment helps them.  That garbage has to stop.

But, it won’t stop so long as Cocktail Party establishment “it’s his turn!” candidates keep being pushed for nominations.

I like Herman Cain because he drives that whole crowd crazy, and the more crazed and agitated those people get then the better things are for this country.  We need to disrupt as many old boys’ club cocktail parties as possible between now and 2012.

So, while I want to see Cain run for Governor somewhere — and win — before I think he should run for president, I’ll tell you this:  if Governor Palin decides not to run for president, despite her being exactly what the nation needs, I think someone like Herman Cain, but with more experience in an executive role, would be our next best hope.

That man is Congressman Allen West, who has been successfully elected to Congress after his executive leadership role in the military, governing the soldiers and resources put under his command.

I think the more exposure Cain gets nationally, the better.

Let’s find some way to help in tap that energy into a gubernatorial campaign at our earliest possible convenience.

GHOULISH: Loretta Sanchez asks for Gabrielle Giffords to be removed from committees she would like to put her friends on instead

Posted at January 26, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Hillbuzz, The Left

Honestly, if you are someone who is upset easily, then please do not read this article over at HotAir:  it’s upsetting.

There’s really something wrong with Loretta Sanchez.

She’s asking for Gabrielle Giffords to be removed from House committees so that friends of hers can take Giffords’ place.

Since Republicans control the House now, it doesn’t matter what Democrats sit on which committees, since the committees will rule the way Republicans want them to rule.  So, Giffords’ recuperation has no impact on voting.

Sanchez doesn’t care, and ghoulishly wants Giffords’ removed anyway.

It’s strange, and cold-hearted.

Worst thing a Democrat has done this week, and considering the company in that bunch, that says a lot.

WOW. TobyToons really nails it. “The Same Old Bipartisan Routine”

Posted at January 26, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Cocktail Party GOP, Consistent Mistakes, General Stupidity, Hillbuzz, The Left

H/t Redstate.com

This is without a doubt the very best cartoon TobyToons has done…and that says a lot because all of them are great.

Perfectly captures Obama with his snuggly and TelePrompter, “Telly”.

It also depicts how perpetually stupid the Cocktail Party GOP establishment is.

MISSION: to get all conservatives to understand whenever anyone on either side says “bipartisan”, that word really means “Democrats yanking the football away from Republicans yet again”.

Often, for the twelfth time that day!

QUESTION: Are you upset when live fish and baby chicks are thrown and killed at a high school pep rally? Do you think the students involved should be punished? Then how do you feel about the things Muslims do worldwide to get attention?

Posted at January 26, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // CAIR Bears, Essays - Islam, Hillbuzz, Hillbuzz Graphics, Hypocrisy, Multimedia, No Pattern Here, The Left, Unveiling Islam

The "misunderstood CAIR Bears of Islam" strike again!

As I read this story about a high school pep rally that featured throwing live fish and baby chicks at people, with the animals being tortured and then killed, all I could think of was how much howling the Left will do about this event and how quick all the PETA-members in the media will be to condemn all the students, teachers, administrators, and parents who allowed this to happen.

Rightfully so, because this was a senseless, sick, and cruel waste of life.

I have never once seen this same sort of outrage directed against Muslims, however, when the media reports on the latest murder spree someone commits in the name of Allah somewhere, like in Moscow this week where 31 people died because “The Religion of Peace” decided to bring its peacefulness to the Domodedovo Airport.

Human beings were blown apart by a Muslim male between the ages of 17-40, yet the Left not only won’t admit there’s a pattern of behavior that warrants security profiling for that demographic cohort, but it also fails to place any blame for this activity on the Muslims who stand by and say nothing when these things happen.

Unlike a pep rally where fish and baby chicks are thrown around and harmed, where the media indicts everyone who had anything whatsoever to do with those involved, because they helped raise “bad kids who hurt animals”.

Well, what about the terrible Muslims who murder people by the dozens in the name of Allah?

Where’s the scrutiny and condemnation of everyone who helped those Muslim males between the ages of 17-40 become the monsters capable of creating so much death and destruction?

Is it that the Left just hates humans and loves animals, or is it that the Left is terrified of ever asking for any moral responsibility of Muslims, period?  Is it a form of racism on the part of the Left, that Muslims are not treated as equals by the Left and media…therefore they do not have to behave the way civilized people behave and these acts of terrorism are instead reported with the same level of shock and dismay as shark attacks?

When people are eaten by sharks while enjoying a sunny day at the beach, the media dwells on the carnage for a day or two, gets plenty of reaction shots from the gaping, sobbing crowds, and then quickly moves onto something else the next day never spending any time asking for sharks to gain accountability for their actions or for other sharks to demand the super-bitey ones rein it in.

This is essentially how Muslims are treated. Like sharks, expected to hurt a lot of people every now and again, because that’s what they do, but Muslims on the whole aren’t ever held accountable for their behavior because, like sharks, the Leftist media seems to believe they are incapable of behaving like rational human beings.

The Left gives Muslims the treatment and accountability of animals harming humans…whereas civilized humans harming animals at a football game pep rally are treated like war criminals, where anyone ever associated with them is indicted for their crimes as well.

Do you see this happening with the American media as well?

What think you?
