Senator DeMint may enter the field of 2012 candidates

Yesterday was an interesting day in the field of potential GOP candidates. Rep Mike Pence (R-IN) dropped out of the race and Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) is rumored to be considering a run. I sometimes feel like we’re discussing the Kentucky Derby instead of the GOP primaries. They both have a field of contenders complete with “favorites” and “long shots”. One may move ahead in the polls one day only to drop back the next. We still have a long way to go in this race so I think we need to pace ourselves.
Fox News is reporting that an aide told a CNN reporter that Senator DeMint would consider a run for the GOP nomination if the field of candidates appears to be not popular or conservative enough. I like Senator DeMint…a lot. He’s quiet and gets the job done and he’s very conservative. Is he too conservative for the independents or is he too “another white male republican candidate? What does the GOP establishment think of him? If he should get the nomination, would you throw your support behind him? That’s a questions that I have been wanting to ask everyone….
Will you throw your support behind the GOP nominee…no matter who it is?

Here’s my first column for American Thinker.
They asked me to start writing for them directly.
True story: I came on their radar when a Stella Paul article quoted HillBuzz over there not that long ago, and a cyberstalker I have in Indiana wrote to American Thinker to tell them not to quote me or link back to HillBuzz. It was such a strange thing for this woman to do (Hey T.B.!), that they got in touch with me and one thing led to another and now I’m writing columns for them directly on a continuing basis (Thanks, T.B.!).
It’s just like when that gay hater-site in New York links to HB to either make fun of us or attack me personally, and then all he succeeds in doing is driving up our hits for the day (Thanks, Joe!). Incidentally, HillBuzz officially surpassed that particular site in daily hits a few months ago…and he started his site about five years before we did. Ruh-roh! Somebody’s losing his relevance. Along with his hair.
You’ll have to wait for the HillBuzz book to read the full chapter on these people (rest assured it’s a doozy!), but the moral of the story is that we’re not going to ever stop doing what we do here at HB, and I’m in particular never going to stop writing. I love it too much, and since the nonstop personal attacks waged on me by the Left (and now Cocktail Party establishment GOP) for doing it, it’s all I have left. So, they’ve only succeeded in making me do the thing they hate (and that bothers them all so much) all the more. I am not intimidated by the stalkers or any fatwa that could go out because I call Islam out for the militarized ideological cult that it is. I will not call sharks “dolphins”, no matter what the PC-crowd wants us all to do. And I hope others out there see that you honestly can speak out against these loons and survive, no matter what terrible things they do to you.

UPDATE: There aren’t many things that make me really stand up and cheer, but appearing on the same page as an article written by THE Pamela Geller, a personal hero of mine, is one of them.
Justin slept over last night and I woke him early this morning when I saw Geller’s piece listed with mine. I don’t know what sort of noise I made, but it’s one he’s never heard before, and I was so excited and happy he thought either Obamacare was repealed, Rahm Emanuel was booted off the Chicago Mayoral ballot again, or there’d been several arrests for treason that installed Hillary Clinton as President in a bizarre power coup.
Justin doesn’t follow politics, so he thought Pamela Geller “is that girl from Buffy”…and in a weird way, she kind of is, as she’s as close to a Slayer as we’ll ever see in this world, outside of the one in Wasilla, Alaska.
She, and her site AtlasShrugs, are just awesomeness undiluted.

The spirit of the new HillBuzz.org site that’s coming is “Choose Your Own Adventure”.
I hope our little site lights a fire under the conservative blogosphere so that other sites stop being just places to go and read essays or chat in forums and become action centers where people trade ideas every day for how to really drive the Left crazy and throw Obama and Democrats off their games.
The new HB 3.0 site was built around the concept of ACTION TEAMS, so that everything we write and do will fit into one of the categories above, with a corresponding ACTION that can be taken after reading the post.
Sometimes, it will be a RED TEAM action, which means people should write to their elected officials about whatever it is that’s happening, or pen letters to the Editor to tell a wider audience about it.
Some items will involve MYSTERIES that need solving, either about Obama himself or all the other secretive things bad for America going on in this Administration. Something tells me this will be the busiest team of all for the next two years.
We’ll have CREATIVE things to do that are fun and oddball, intensive FUNDRAISING research into who, exactly, is funding the Left and how we can stop it, RESEARCH into all sorts of things the media doesn’t want regular people to know about, and things we can all do, together, to help Governor PALIN in her 2012 bid for the White House.
The number one thing I constantly hear from people is that they WANT to do something, but that they don’t know how to get involved or are afraid of putting themselves out there. Not everyone wants to or can go to a protest. Some people love to phone bank. Others are great at research. There are people who would write postcards out all day and mail them to everyone in Congress if they knew what to say and had directions how to proceed.
Our goal with the new site is to give conservatives the nudge and tools they need to become a massive grassroots army by 2012. We’ll be a little gay Mr. Miyagi here in Boystown, teaching conservatives everything they need to know about the Left and its tactics, so by 2012 the ACORN, Union, Black Panthers, and other thugs employed by Obama and the Democrats won’t know what hit them when they’re outnumbered 3:1 by conservatives who are not going to take any crap anymore…and now have the tools and techniques to counter the Alinsky Handbook.
It’s going to be a lot of hard work, but America is worth it.
As we wait for the new HillBuzz.org to launch in February, start thinking about areas you’d like to be active in…just a little a day…in ways that complement things you already do right now.

Radio host and political writer Andrea Shea King came up with a great idea: to wish Nancy Reagan a “We Appreciate You!” and “Happy Birthday Ronald Reagan” message and tell her how much she is missed on the national scene, particularly in her role as First Lady.
Mrs. Reagan is going to be celebrating what would be President Ronald Reagan’s 100th birthday on February 6th.
Andrea Shea King has organized something special for Mrs. Reagan, to let her know how much Americans still love her.

ACTION ITEMS involving writing anyone like this will be RED TEAM ACTION ITEMS on the new HillBuzz site, where we can keep track of these better and churn out more of them.
Sometimes they will be emails, but usually they will be postcard projects — since writing actual letters in the mail gets the best response and most attention from officials, but they use the anthrax scare excuse not to read letters in envelopes and I believe they just flat out ignore emails.
The postcards will get to their offices, though, and staff will be forced to read them.
So, if you like to write, the new HB site will have a lot of opportunities to do that.
Hero vs. Zero: the Palins vs. Obama
One of these things is not like the others, one of these things just doesn't belong.
It’s so strange to see this so clearly, but doesn’t Obama’s entire presidency and everything that’s wrong with him boil down to this one photo of him, taken during a summer 2007 campaign trip to Iowa, where he just flat-out refuses to honor and respect America.
Later, his aides said he didn’t know he was supposed to put his hand over his heart during the playing of the national anthem, in respect of our flag and country.
And no one in the media had a problem with that.
The fact is, Obama grew up in Indonesia. He admits his upbringing was scattershot and all across the board. He’s not “from” anywhere in particular and was not raised to do the things Americans just instinctively do, without being told.
With no earpiece in place or TelePrompTer to guide him, this very talented and chameleonic actor just didn’t know what to do at this moment in time.
So, he revealed a bit of his true self. The mask slipped a little.
But no one in the media noticed.
And, if they did, they didn’t say anything because doing so would have ostracized that person in Leftist ranks and ruined their chance to make history as the media team that together elected the “historic and unprecedented first black president”.
You know, the guy who didn’t know to put his hand on his heart when standing in front of an immense flag during the playing of the national anthem when everyone around him managed to do that without being told.
ACTION ITEM: Who is behind all the many efforts to keep Obama’s birth certificate and vital information hidden? Can we forensically sleuth out their budgets and identify key staffers in these efforts?

Am I the only one to wonder what the Obama Administration is doing behind the scenes to keep the birth certificate issue from hitting world headlines?
Wouldn’t hiding all his personal information be one hellacious task? There is so much at stake that I can’t help but think that there’s a whole army of bureaucrats, well organized and well funded of course, that stays on top of everything that has to do with hiding the birth certificate and all the other papers that regular Americans routinely have to come up with in order to get anything done such as getting a driver’s license, getting a passport, getting your kid into soccer, etc. etc.
It seems to me that to keep Obama’s personal papers securely under wraps it would take a lot of work as in continuous monitoring and possibly intimidation. There are government agencies such as the Hawaiian Dept of Health, at least three universities and who knows another whole host of entities involved with keeping things sealed, secret and inaccessible to the regular public. That adds up to a whole lot of people who must have at least some knowledge of a piece of Obama’s past. I’m thinking it takes significant Administration involvement to keep all these people in line.
I am wondering if we HillBuzzers could do some sleuthing. First, as in keeping track of small news items that are hidden on page 21 of the Washington Post that could indicate that something big might be going on. How about this:

Current stuff as well as older stuff. For example, how about Donald Young, the gay choir director from Chicago. What happened to him and what can we figure out regarding his untimely death? Also, the death of the Administration official’s wife a few weeks ago. That struck me as odd! We have to pay attention.
Another item that I would like for all of us to look into, is to see if we can figure out what departmental organization or individual is in charge of keeping up with anything related to Obama’s origins. Could it be John Brennan? The man who headed up the Analysis Corporation that was involved with breaching State Department files of Hillary Clinton, John McCain and Barack Obama in the first half of 2008? Can we figure out what Brennan’s budget is and whether it is reasonably big enough to staff a lot of bureaucrats who fight the birthers every day? Is it Homeland Security per chance? Do they have a division or organization that does nothing but protect Obama’s secrets all day long? Perhaps we can even do one topic a day, say about John Brennan and find out as much as we can about him and post it here. Next day, we look into another administration individual and see what we can discover. Janet Napolitano maybe? How about the Robert Mueller of the FBI? Let’s analyze White House visitor logs. Let’s look at budgets if they are available. Let’s also look at organizational charts and see if we can figure out who does what and does it make sense. If it looks funny, well then let’s analyze it some more.
I’m curious. This has got to be a mighty big and important issue with the Administration.

Let’s make this an Action Item we pursue, to solve the Mystery of the Obama Document Deceptors. Who are the people charged with hiding all of the documents Obama has spent millions keeping from public view?
If we identify the people most likely responsible for keeping all of these things a mystery, perhaps we could then track down who exactly is paying for all of this? I have a sinking suspicion that trail will lead back to whatever hollowed-out volcanic lair George Soros calls home these days.
We’ll use this thread to brainstorm where to start, and make it the first official Mystery to solve for the new HillBuzz site we’re launching. We needed a test case for the Mystery Solving Action Team, and I think you’ve just given it to us.

New HillBuzz.org site update: I know this is going to be repetitive, but I don’t know what day we will transfer over to the new server. It’s just going to happen one day, out of the blue, whenever the computer people hired to do this make it happen. There are close to three years worth of archived posts here on HillBuzz, with close to 250,000 comments made by readers…AND all the graphics we have on various threads. It’s a lot of data, and it all has to be archived appropriately and sent to the new site on the new server. I have absolutely no idea how long that will take once it starts, so we could be down for a few days once the process gets going. If that happens, whatever open thread is up that day should have this little notice to people wondering what happened to us — don’t worry, pardon the dust, we are just moving to a better and bigger place.
Related to that, today we’re starting a new project for the new site a little early. Our goal is to be more action oriented than other political sites out there, and one way to do that is to start working on solving the various mysteries about Obama and this administration the national media just won’t touch. So, if you ever wanted to be one of the Three Investigators, Nancy Drew, one of the Hardy Boys, or Hercule Poirot, then now’s your chance (we already have a lovely Miss Marple who posts in comments, so that’s a shoutout to her).
The new HillBuzz will be driven by the Action Teams, something we’ve tried to get going on the current site for some time, but we just could never seem to organize in an effective way. The new site was designed around the Action Teams, instead of trying to wedge these into an existing site not set up for them. The Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple teams will each have a set purpose going forward.
The Orange Team’s focus will be solving mysteries: researching one of the myriad Obama mysteries, addressing it, and collecting facts on an ongoing basis to ultimately form a theory we can test by presenting it to the media and government officials to confirm or deny. If you have been holding your breath waiting for actual journalists to do investigative reporting on this administration, and you are blue in the face because of that, participate in the Orange Team’s efforts, as those are lovely complementary colors.
This week, we kick off the Orange Team with “The Mystery of the Obama Document Deceptors”, as we start to identify what individuals must be involved in keeping Obama’s vital documents secret. Who are these people? Where do their salaries come from? Where can we apply directed pressure in a concerted national effort to get one of these people to slip up and reveal more than they are supposed to…which could be a clue to solving our mystery.
I appreciate everyone who comes here to read my writing on politics and to comment in threads — but if we are going to really defeat the Left in 2012, we have to actually do something every day, in our own small ways, that can add up together to real activism. These Action Teams are the best thing I can think of to do our part in what I hope becomes a national effort on the part of ALL conservative web sites, where instead of just reporting on the news and talking about how terrible the current administration is, we actually do the jobs that aren’t being currently done by either the media or the Cocktail Party GOP establishment and inform Americans about everything the Left doesn’t want them to know.
If we find fun, creative, interesting, and revelatory ways of doing this, I just don’t see how the Left, its media propagandists, or the Cocktail Party establishment crowd wins.
It’s going to be an immense amount of hard work, but I am going to try to make it fun. Together we can put together a Justice League of Conservatives who might never meet, and might not actually like each other personally in some cases, but who all love America and can put aside pettier differences to commit to ACTION that will help the conservative effort against the Left in 2012.
If you are reading this, and you are excited about the prospects of being part of this ACTION, then you are the Resistance.

Ten States Now Pushing for Birth Certificate Submission for 2012 Presidential Ballot: it’s about damn time
It’s up to ten states now, for requiring the submission of the long form birth certificate for a candidate to be eligible for the 2012 presidential ballot.
I don’t believe someone can be elected President if that person does not appear on the ballot in all 50 states, because that person would not be the president of the United States, since the states were not united in electing him. Some are arguing with this point, but this is what I learned in school. If you are legal-minded, I’d love clarification on that point.
However, with ten states now working to require submission of a long form original birth certificate before a candidate can appear on the presidential ballot, then it takes the number up to 170 in terms of electoral college votes Obama cannot win right off the bat if he keeps refusing to release his original long form birth certificate for public inspection.
This now includes states Democrats need to win to secure the presidency, like Indiana, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maine, and Missouri.
I don’t know of a combination of states that could return Obama to the White House for a second term if he doesn’t win five states. If somehow Ohio can be convinced to pass a similar law, Obama’s re-election would be an immediate nonstarter for sure.
That could be an interesting project this year for conservatives nationwide: to pass these birth certificate requirements in states that Democrats absolutely have to win in order to re-elect Obama. If the Left is already writing off the red states and would push ahead with Obama even if he couldn’t appear on the ballot in states McCain won in 2008, what will they do if these laws are passed in states that went blue for Obama?
