Donny Deutsch says Sarah Palin is “Snooki”

This morning on MSNBC’s “The Morning Joe” show with Joe Scarborough (RINO extrordinaire) and Mika Brzezinski (big blonde scary”strong like bull” lady) everyone was fixated on Sarah Palin and her interview with Sean Hannity last night. They continue to sit around and scratch their heads and say things like “what is the big deal with Sarah Palin? We don’t get why she is so popular”. Of course they get what the big deal is and they are scared to death of her. This morning they brought in the “oh so bright and wise” Donny Deutsch to weigh in on the issue and here is what he had to say…
“Why the fascination (with Sarah Palin)? It’s very simple and I’m not going to be glib here. She is Snooki. It’s the same math. A younger generation they want to watch this character with big character with big hair who’s funny…you don’t know she’s going to say. It’s no different but for a higher demographic! We watch her she’s interesting looking..whats she going to say? She’s campy, she’s kitschy, it’s telegenic, its television, its entertaining that’s the fascination. Beginning, middle and end of story, she’s Snooki.”

NAACP disrespects George Washington at MLK rally in South Carolina

The annual MLK observance at the state house in Columbia SC had an interesting twist this year. The event is held on the north side steps of the statehouse. Prominent at that location is a large bronze statue of George Washington. This year, the NAACP constructed a “box” to conceal the Father of His Country from view so that participants would not be offended by his presence.
I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw this picture of the MLK Day rally in Columbia, South Carolina yesterday. This rally was sponsored by the NAACP and they said that they covered the statue because they “didn’t want to offend anyone”. Really? George Washington is the father of this nation. How is he offensive to anyone? Can you imagine what would happen if we covered the statue of Dr. King on President’s Day? Of course, this disgusting display of anti-Americanism wasn’t covered at all by the national media and only the local paper in Columbia had a little piece on it. It has been covered a little by the blog-world and I think the word needs to get out to the general public that this is what the NAACP is all about…..militant, hateful and racist. In doing this, they disrespected Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I bet he would be equally disgusted. Awful.

Michelle Obama turns 47
Yesterday was Michelle Obama’s 47th birthday. She happens to share the birthday with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. so in honor of that, she and the first family spent the day doing a community service project at Stuart Hobson Middle School in Washington. I hope she at least got to do something exciting for dinner. I will say that she looks mighty happy hugging Sasha. In fact, this is one of the happiest I’ve seen her (that smile looks very genuine to me).
