Thanksgiving Hatemail of the Day
This was too funny not to share, part of the DWTS hatemail that’s still pouring in. This woman actually took time away from friends and family to write this:
I know you are probably busy with Thanksgiving and everything but I just had to tell you how much I hate you. I read about you and how you ruined dancing with the stars. This is an american tradition and you ruined it so I hope you are happy. You made it a laughingstock. I hope you choke on something and nobody finds you for days or weeks. Happy Thanksgiving.
Margaret Miller
Davenport, Iowa
My favorite part was the “Happy Thanksgiving” bit at the end.
That was inspired.

Great read
Where did the modern turkey (the bird, not the terrible place) come from?
http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-marciano-turkey-20101125,0,2461782.story
Here’s a fun read with more dinner conversation material about the origin of the modern turkey.
Turkey as in the edible bird, not the terrible place I don’t want to go to ever again.
More objections to Rahm Emanuel's residency in Chicago
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/11/24/official-objections-to-emanuel-candidacy/?ref=politics
There is currently a behind the scenes war over Rahm Emanuel’s residency status here in Chicago.
I know that Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan is behind this push to remove Emanuel from the Mayor’s race.
Obama’s Organizing for America and all its thugs and kooks are helping Rahm.
Clinton people in Chicago are rooting against Rahm.
I still have not figured out what the Daley Machine wants.
Tea Party needs to target major Democrat Donors, not CEOs
The Tea Party needs to research and target the people funding the Left.
I have talked about this before, as someone who has worked in political and nonprofit fundraising for ten years now.
Most wealthy people who give to Democrats do so because it is fun to have pictures taken with politicians and to go to, and host, fancy events where famous people will be.
Make it the opposite of fun to be a big Dem donor, and dry up the Dem fundraising machine.
THIS should be Tea Party strategy.
"That strawberry Cool-Whip pretzel delicious thing"
http://www.cooks.com/rec/search/0,1-0,strawberry_jello_pretzel_salad,FF.html
So, “Thanksgiving Eve” is actually one of the busiest, most drunken nights in Boystown.
I was at Sidetrack with my friends Robby and Panda watching Craig Gernhardt, President of Gay Chicago Magazine, make an ass of himself. He was so drunk, grabbing people’s behinds, shouting “I am Craig Gernhardt! Don’t you know who I am?” and yelling at bartenders when they cut him off…then escorting him out of the bar.
Happy Thanksgiving from Gay Chicago Magazine!
After that floor show, which stopped all conversations to a screaching halt, I overheard a woman next to me try to restart talk in her group by telling them about “the most delicious thing I have ever had in my life that I can tell you about without blushing”.
And then she started talking about this strawberry, cream cheese, pretzel, Cool-Whip desert that was big in Cleveland when I was growing up…which was ubiquitous at every church picnic, bake sale, Fourth of July cookout, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
After listening to her talk some more, it turned out the woman talking was from Independence, Ohio…a suburb of Cleveland.
For Thanksgiving, all sorts of people turn up in Chicago, from everywhere, but it was fun to not only run into someone from Cleveland, but someone who likes that pretzel dessert as much as I do.
There might still be time for you to make some for your holiday meal too if you want to try it.
Restore federalism: "The Repeal Amendment"
http://dailycaller.com/2010/11/24/voter-anger-fuels-support-for-%E2%80%9Crepeal-amendment%E2%80%9D/
This is another great conversation piece for today…”The Repeal Amendment”.
This would give states the ability to remove an act of Congress by 2/3 vote.
Think Obamacare…if 2/3 of state legislatures want it gone, they could band together, vote, and remove that monstrosity from Congress.
It would be a federalist check on out of touch, imperial Washington.
Read the article above and then come back here to let us know what you think of “The Repeal Amendment”.
Thanksgiving Survey: Five great dinner conversation questions for your gatherings
Thanksgiving will bring together a lot of interesting people you might not see in one room like that more than twice a year.
It is, thus, a great chance to score some focus group political intel…especially if you have a mix of conservatives and Leftists at the table.
Clearly, gauge your audience: if you will ruin dinner by talking politics, don’t ruin dinner an disregard this idea.
But, I can’t imagine at least one of these things coming up in natural conversation even if you don’t start it.
Tonight someone I don’t even know asked me at the urinal in Sidetrack what net neutrality is, and I don’t think he even knew I am a political writer. He was just making conversation, while peeing, the way Keith Olbermann does live on the air behind that desk he has on his show (which explains why he is never shot standing up).
Questions:
1. What do you think of “Hope and Change” two years after Obama was elected?
2. How is Obamacare impacting your job and insurance rates?
3. What does “Sarah Palin is polarizing” mean?
4. Do you know what “Pigford” is and do you believe the federal government should pay “reparations” money?
5. Do you believe Democrats engineer voter fraud in elections?
Please feel free to add more questions if you like.
I am fascinated by answers to these five however…as they are all germaine to projects I intend to run here at HB in December.
Cocktail Party GOP blue blood estaBUSHment officially in Open War against Governor Palin
In one of the radio spots I did this week, someone asked me what I was going to do now that DWTS is over.
I think declaring open war on the Cocktail Party blue blood estaBUSHment and running interferance for Governor Palin would be fun.
What should we do and where should we start?
I have a plan forming, which involves taking down Mitt Romney’s ground team here in Illinois as a start…and then spreading out to hit the Cocktail Party soggy sandwich centers in the rest of the Midwest, too.
I refuse to allow the Cocktail Party and media to work together to take down Governor Palin the way the Left and the media (redundancy alert!) took down Hillary Clinton in 2008.
The Cocktail Party blue bloods are already in 2012 campaign mode so if you are someone waiting until Governor Palin officially announces her campaign in 2012, then you are foolishly keeping yourself out of a battle already in progress.
This is all great Thanksgiving dinner conversation material.
GREAT MERCIFUL ZEUS: Christine O'Donnell might be on Dancing with the Stars next season

I really like Christine O’Donnell.
The article above says Governor Palin suggested to ABC that she dance on DWTS next season…but SarahPAC denies this happened.
I really love the idea though, whether or not the Governor originated it.
We could have more fun driving the Left crazy by keeping a woman they hate on the show week after week and O’Donnell would build the sort of national brand name recognition she would need to run for office again or become a big time pundit on FOX (which is where I see her future).
Personally, I would love to see Track Palin on DWTS…mainly because I kind of really want to see Track in a tux being awesome.
If not him, let Willow dance.
There are enough Palins to keep this up for years.
You betcha!
