STUNNING: Ken Tucker at Ew.com actually has nice things to say about Bristol and Governor Palin
For anyone who doubted in the least the wisdom of the Palins doing Dancing with the Stars and the Alaska travelogue, please read this piece by Ken Tucker at Ew.com.
This is a man who hates Governor Palin. He delights in Tina Fey, 60, mocking her.
BUT he grudgingly admits the Palins are charming and the Alaska show is great TV and an awesome look at both Alaska and this Alaskan family.
If Tucker is compelled to admit these things, the show is working.
Big time.
Support Ron Paul's efforts to remove any immunities from prosecution for TSA agents
Today, I took my friend Althea’s two kids to see Harry Potter’s latest adventure because they wanted to see it and Althea hates “sitting in the dark, listening to strangers eat, like I’m back home in the barn in Arkansas with rats”.
As the three of us were lined up waiting for the theater doors to open, I imagined what I would do if TSA tried to strip search or molest either one of these kids (ages 7 and 10).
You would read about it on the news, I am sure.
Because you will not harm a child in my presence and get away with it, and I do not care if you are wearing a polyester uniform and have a walkie talkie while doing it.
I can’t even imagine what it would be like for a parent to watch the TSA strip his five year old son almost naked in public while he cried and cried.
That happened at an airport this weekend and if that was my son I would press child molestation charges against all TSA officials on duty in a 60 feet radius of that happening.
Just imagine something like this happening in line to see Harry Potter.
Althea and I talked about this when she came to pick TJ and Niblet up at Buzzquarters. Those two were in the living room drawing pictures of their favorite scenes in the movie so they could tell their mom all about it. Althea brought me some of the peach wings I love from the Southside as thanks for watching the Dynamic Duo (what I call them) today. As we ate, we talked about what would happen all sorts of places if some employee demanded children or old people undressed or they fondled their genitals.
At the movies.
In the grocery line.
At Shedd Aquarium.
In a school.
You name it.
Everyone doing the touching would go to jail.
Anyone who watched and allowed it to happen would be tried as an accessory.
All supervisors on duty would be fired.
The companies involved would be sued for millions.
So, no, it is not okay for the TSA to do what teachers, police, firemen, soldiers, and doctors are not allowed to do to children.
“Just following orders” did not work at Nuremberg and should not immunize TSA employees who strip little boys and fondle little girls.
When TJ and Niblet bounded into the kitchen to show Althea their happy, magical Harry Potter drawings, I imagined the horror of these two having to draw pictures of where the TSA perverts touched them.
Althea said she would flat-out kill anyone who touched her son or daughter like that.
“You can sue them and put them.in jail all you want, but I will just kill these people with my bare hands. I will figure out who they are, I will hunt them down, and I will strangle them. Then you can write a book about the serial killer who brought you peach wings before she snapped at the airport”.
Althea doesn’t play.
I really think she would indeed kill these people. She got so fired up talking about this.
And I don’t blame her.
Every day I get madder and madder at the TSA as well.

WOW: have never seen this before…a shuttered Kaplan test prep center
I have never in my life seen a Kaplan test prep center go under.
These places charge like $1,200 for a test prep class.
There are just as many students now as always.
Is it that parents can no longer afford this, or did something online replace Kaplan in the way Netflix killed the video stores?
This Kaplan was in a prime location next to the Webster Place movie theater here in Lincoln Park.
Scary.
Why won't Mike Ditka run for Mayor of Chicago?
Here is what I was told today:
1. Rahm Emanuel is committed to spending $7 million on the Mayoral campaign…which scares off challengers.
2. People are afraid of Rahm using every Alinsky trick to destroy his challengers.
3. If Republican won, it would be a nightmare to run Chicago…as the Democrat machine here would make life Hell.
These are the reasons I am being told that Mike Ditka will not run.
He enjoys being universally beloved in Chicago. He likes being retired. He does not want to expose his family to either the Hell of a campaign or the Hades of being a conservative Mayor in a Leftist machine city.
Can we convince Ditka to overlook the above and save Chicago?
Ideas needed please.

CONFIRMED: Carol Mosely Braun is stalking horse backed by Rahm Emanuel to split black vote

Rahm Emanuel is using Carol Moseley Braun to split the black vote…so that Rev. Meeks, another black candidate, does not win the Dem primary over Emanuel.
What’s in it for CMB?
A plum City appointment and huge salary if Emanuel becomes Mayor.
CMB also just wants attention.
Word is that the media is on orders not to give her any bad press.
I think this could all backfire in two ways:
1. If we use Alinsky tricks against Rahm, we can call anyone who supports him over Braun a racist…and that garbage works in Chicago whether you understand it or not…so there is a chance Braun could accidentally win this.
2. Rahm should be disqualified for residency. I learned today Mike Madigan and the Madigan Machine are desperate to keep Obama’s pet from being Mayor. Anyone but Rahm is what the Madigans want.
Do the Madigans have enough clout to keep Rahm off the ballot?
Can they drag CMB across the finish line despite her not even really wanting to win?
Is there NO ONE on the Republican side who can run for Mayor and save Chicago?
Why aren't Republicans running a candidate for Chicago Mayor? Lee Roupas decided it costs too much.
Today, I paid a visit to a very rich, very gross, large Democrat donor here in Boystown…emphasis on the large, because he’s nicknamed “Jabba” in giving circles.
As in, The Hutt…as in, got that way from too much pizza at the.
He thinks the nickname is funny, so much so that he dressed up as Star Wars Jabba for Halloween and had a little blond twink wear a slave-Leia jockstrap and kept him on a leash all night.
Which is as gross as it is hilarious.
Well, amongst many things I talked about with Jabba today was why Cook County GOP Cocktail Party Chair Lee Roupas decided not to even run a Republican candidate for Mayor.
Jabba told me he heard Roupas had a meeting not long after Mayor Daley announced retirement, and Roupas told them it would be a waste of $2 million to even bother running someone against Rahm Emanuel for Mayor.
Republicans in Illinois are broke because Cocktail Party state chair Pat Brady (the guy I thought was a friend of mine, but who called me “a f###ing faggot” to a big GOP conservative donor) has alienated all the big money people by joining Roupas in a bizarre war against Eloise Gerson, Chicago GOP Chair.
Gerson is short, Jewish, female, and Hispanic.
Declaring war on her was insane…because everyone who sides with Brady and Roupas against Gerson is open to charges of being a bigot on so many levels.
REMEMBER: Chicago is the epicenter of identity politics.
No one is giving money to the GOP as long as Brady and Roupas are in their positions.
So, Roupas has triaged matters and has said there is not the needed $2 million to run a Republican for Chicago Mayor.
There is, of course, a slew of GOP holiday parties on the calendar. Black tie, of course, held in only the best private clubs.
Why not cancel those and use that $200,000 or so to just run someone – anyone – for Mayor?
AT LEAST TRY.
Did you know Roupas did not run a single Republican for judge in Cook County?
He said there was no money for that, and he didn’t want to make Democrats mad by challenging them.
“I need Democrats’ help because I just passed the bar and am just starting my law practice, so I can’t make anyone mad,” is what Jabba told me Roupas has been saying.
You need to know just how bad the Cocktail Party in Illinois really is.
They are in politics just to advance themselves or gain titles to feel important.
They do not really want to win elections.
Hell, sometimes they won’t even field a candidate!
Doesn’t someone out there have a way to contact the billionaire Koch Brothers?
Can’t Republicans nationally raise enough to thwart Obama, usurp Lee Roupas and Pat Brady, and run a Republican for Mayor of Chicago.
