ALABAMA GROUND REPORT

Posted at October 19, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Dear HillBuzz,

Here on the ground in Florence, Alabama–the N.W. corner 13 miles from the Tennessee state line and 30 miles from the Mississippi State line, one of  the last democratic strong holds in Alabama.

Here we have several places that there should have been a republican running– but it is next to impossible, in this area to win as a R. I know several republicans that have run as dems — just get elected– things like county clerk and  sheriff ect. This is a huge  union  area — The fact that most of the union  jobs and  3 plants are no longer here and all of our kids are leaving  to find work has not resonated I guess.  THis area has a large 65+ group and quiet a few voted for obama..today it is not easy to find anyone that voted for him.. my in-laws have never voted for a republican in their life for anything.. they believed until just rescently that GW blew up the levee after katrina and caused every problem they have had in the past 8 years..-but– what the dems did to Hillary (they still love Bill and Hillary) opened their eyes –THANK YOU LORD.. they despise obama  and  will be voting R  this go round (my mom-in-law may just stay home but her hubby will vote).

I noticed that they have not  bad mouthed sarah  lately.

I know for a fact things are changing. Lauderdale county, Alabama may just go red in my life time..  if “he” runs in 2012– oh yeah I can see Nov. 1012 from my house..
I have not seen a lot of Dem signs in yards — on the highways and empty lots — bit not inside the yards… last time there were signs every where– made me ill..
thank you obama– he has done what no one else could do — opened the eyes of normal, lazy, and complacent people all over the great USA.

Faye in Alabama

Dear Hillbuzz,

Wanted to put my 2 cent ground report from down here in Sweet Home Alabama!

I live near the center-left city of Montgomery, and from what im seeing down here, Alabamians has had enough of the democrats, its really so bad for the dems that our congressman Bobby Bright (who miraculously won thanks to the tides of hopenchange in this R+16 district) is running ads claiming that he is the “most independent member of congress” (he is one of many “Bright” people that though voting for Nancy Pelosi for speaker was a good idea) Well now ever since Pelosi started shoving her “accomplishments” down our throaths BB cannot get far enough away from her.  In fact the Republican challenger, a young Momma Grizzley, Martha Roby has outraised BB in the third quarter (illbeit, not alot) and all the money Roby raised is through individual donors in the district while BB’s money come from political pacs from outside his own disctrict (so we could use some more help though donations at martharoby.com )

From the way things are looking, we are going hand over every single george-wallace-democrat-rear-ends  from the the governors race all the way down to the local offices where i live, in fact, for the first time in 136 years, the republicans may take control of the state legislatures (both houses) I mean even in a city as left as Montgomery you have more republican candidate signs than the democrats have(!)

Bottom Line, things are looking really good down here, but remember, just because the situation right now looks like it favors our side, doesnt mean we can get complacent, everybody needs to remain focus, continue to help candidates like Martha Roby, do phonebank or donate or yard sign, ANYTHING!!

Thats all i got for you down here, keep up the good work boys, love reading your stuff!

God Bless,
Robby, Alabama

NORTH CAROLINA GROUND REPORT

Posted at October 19, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz
Dear HillBuzz,

I tend to keep a low profile and don’t post much.  Not long after the Stimulus Bill was jammed through, the Obama supporters in my office (and there are many) have gone silent.  They won’t engage in conversation, it’s all sports all the time…nothing about the healthcare bill, cap and trade, etc.  With such a tough economy, I steer away from political discussions in the office. My family is depending on me to keep my job.

I live just outside of Raleigh, NC which puts me in NC-04 district.  My Rep, David Price has been in Congress for the past 22 years, his seat is viewed as “safe” it contains very liberal Chapel Hill and Durham, he usually wins re-election by at least 50K votes.  This year he is nervous.  His opponent, BJ Lawson, is very conservative, in fact, he’s really a libertarian running as an R.  For the first time I can remember, David Price has campaign signs out.  He was elected to Congress at the same time as N. Pelosi. I’ve been knocking on doors and find voters eager to get to the polls.  I did run into one Democrat who said, Obama isn’t radical enough.  I did well to keep my poker face, I listened to her point of view, engaged in some polite back and forth exchanges and went about my business…it was apparent, she was set in her ways and not going to change.  We politely parted ways and I wondered to myself how she ended up with such views.

Price may win just by having such a numbers advantage of registered Dems v. GOP but the good news is, the Dems have to spend $ to defend it.  BJ could pull the upset, the parts of my district that have grown are more conservative than Chapel Hill and Durham.  I was shocked to learn that Durham is starting up a Tea Party Group, that’s big!

Nearby districts are NC-02 Renee Elmers v. Bob Etheridge (Mr. Who Are You thug).  Word from insiders at the cocktail party is she hasn’t run a smart campaign, she’s refused to participate in several fundraising events and not taken advantage of offers from volunteers to help her, but I will continue to make calls on her behalf.  One race flying under the radar is NC-13, a gerrymandered district w/ Bill Randall trying to beat incumbent Brad Miller…I think Bill has a real chance to win this one, I cannot find one voter who supports Miller.  I have met Bill, he’s seems like a good man.

Sen. Richard Burr is up in the polls but there is a libertarian running who will pull votes from him.  I like the libertarian but it’s too risky to vote for him and hand the seat to a real progressive, Elaine Marshall, currently NC Secretary of State.  She would be a rubber stamp for BO and SEIU.

Both of state house and senate have been Blue since reconstruction, the GOP is confident they will take both houses which is key for re-districting.  I found this link which might interest political junkies like yourselves.

Best,

NC Citizen

IOWA GROUND REPORT

Posted at October 19, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Dear HillBuzz,

I’m a young man, a university student, who lives in Indianola, just south of Des Moines. I’ve lived here all my life, in the same house that I spent my childhood in, and I love my fellow Iowans–warts and all.

I’m frankly embarrassed that the state went to Obama in 2008. Iowans are trusting to the point of gullibility. We always assume the best of people and are extremely tolerant of mistakes.
BUT–once you betray our trust, your name is shit. Forever. Well, not forever, but once that trust is broken you have to bleed a river of blood to redeem yourself.
That is currently where Obama is now. The many young people, late teens to mid 20s, who voted for the first time are either indifferent to Obama and his allies now, or are actively working against Obama and his allies. The lower middle class, which occasionally votes Democrat due to union loyalties (pretty weak in Iowa since it is a Right to Work State, but it is still present), has utterly turned against him.
If the election were held today, the 2008 election results would be flipped towards the GOP. I firmly believe this. The Leftists that control the Democratic Party has revealed itself to be the Godless, anti-American authoritarians that they are.
I think the GOP will pick up a House seat here in the Midterms, and you can count on our 7 electoral votes for Sarah Palin in 2012.
Hope this helps,
Gaige

Hilarious: Left tries to ridicule Governor Palin for "don't party like it's 1773 yet" tweet but doesn't know that's when the Boston Tea Party happened

Posted at October 19, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Check this out over at Pefunction.

Michelle Malkin also has an excellent run-down of the latest Daily Kos attack on Governor Palin…trying to ridicule her for saying Republicans shouldn’t, just yet, “party like it’s 1773″ because celebrations should only happen when the Left is defeated and Americans take back Washington.

The ignorant, basement-dwelling, Hot Pockets-muching Lefties kept saying “What happened in 1773?” and tried making fun of Palin, thinking she meant to say “1776″.

The fools had no idea the Boston Tea Party happened in 1773…which was the inspiration for the modern Tea Party Movement, which Governor Palin is very much a part of.

Whenever the Left attempts to attack and ridicule anyone, they normally just damage themselves, without realizing it.

This is especially true when it comes to Governor Palin.

The blind, irrational, misogynistic hatred these people have for her clouds their minds and judgment.  They are so eager to smack at her — hard — that they never stop to think about what they are doing, or how foolish they look because they are so often dead wrong in what they attack her on.

Hilarious.

CONNECTICUT GROUND REPORT

Posted at October 19, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Dear HillBuzz,
From SW CT – our local newspaper has now resorted to articles about how good the economy is doing.  For example:  finding one factory owner whose factory is 40 miles away talk about how his business is doing good.  Or putting a spin on all the news around here, how things are improving.  Excuse me??  We still have 9.6% unemployment and some of us are still FUNemployed!

Our business closed and filed bankruptcy 18 months ago.  Despite numerous attempts by some of us former employees to purchase the service part of the business and run it ourselves, the bankruptcy court has been unable to get this together.  We have tried every way possible to keep the business going to no avail.  Some of us still service our customers for FREE.  And have been doing it for 18 months.  Sometimes I can’t help but feel eyeorish and I’m not a pessimistic person.  Reading your blog is one of the things that has kept me going and I really appreciate it.

Many of my friends in this blue, blue state are liberal.  But they are the harmless liberals and don’t realize that they have been taken for a ride.  Most of them have no clue what is happening to their country and get their news from the alphabet channels.  They know where I stand but I don’t shout about it all the time.  One of the “Obama Lovers” actually asked us why the economy wasn’t getting better.  We educated her without mentioning any party ever and she has been quiet ever since.  But the wheels are turning.  Hopefully, there are enough of people like her to keep this idiot Blumenbore from being gov.  I still see signs for dems up by at least 2 to 1 to the reps but I keep hoping.  Around here maybe the rep voters are scared and just quietly going to do their talking at the polls.  We can only hope!

Conservative woman in a blue state

****************************************

Dear HillBuzz,

The one thing I notice here in liberal CT … there are no “moderate” democrats anymore.  I remember in ’08 feeling afraid to mention my conservative leanings to acquaintances and friends because I knew for sure they would laugh uncomfortably and look around for a way to escape our conversation.  NOW, if the topic arises, which it normally does not, they join in albeit feebly … I will be honest with you that my friends are largely housewives who don’t seem to put lots of thought into political matters.  We are very concerned about preschools and bpa free bottles … still I am no longer closeted about my beliefs.  I am not shy and I think my years of mousing around hiding my common sense in some way contributed to the utter disaster that surrounds us now.  I should have been outspoken!  My goodness how many of us were there out there mousing around each other afraid to say the obvious re Obama and progressive policies.  Shame on me!!  SHAME ON US!!!

I have quite a political voice through facebook … I post all kinds of fun things and get lots of heated conversations started with my points of view.  One good friend of mine, a social worker in SF with a gay brother, is on my outreach program … I hammer away at her mercilessly but not so much as to cause her to defriend me.  I am about to post your DADT post on her page, the one that changed my mind about that whole topic.  You guys are very influential in my little world.  Anyway, another girlfriend told me her husband is my biggest fb fan that he looks every day to see what I will post next.  The guy never says a word … he is some kind of lurker.

I love you all, even though I have no idea how many they are… I wish you well and pray for you all when I think of it.  I normally pray for you to have strength to stand up like you do.  I pray for you to get to know the amazing God I serve,  I won’t lecture you about any of that because you are going through your life as I am going through mine …still, if  you have other, more specific cares, I will pour my heart out to God for you!  God bless you, dear boys.  This time of the year, I start to worry about you folks being alone on Thanksgiving and such.  The normal prayers I pray for you just might be enough but feel free to add a bit more!

Lisa in Connecticut

************************************

Dear HillBuzz,

You asked what people ’round me are saying about Obama and Democrats.

I live in southwestern CT – basically a NYC suburb – and I’ve noticed something that intrigues, frustrates, and angers me, all at the same time.  Though I have little contact with Democrats on a daily basis (thank you God), I pay close attention to “talk” at the market, the gas station, local talk radio, etc.

Democrats are foaming at the mouth.  BUT THEY DON’T KNOW WHY.  Or at least, they cannot FACE WHY.  Circuits are exploding in their heads.  As though reality is ramming itself into their heavily protected “identity as a democrat” heads and they cannot process the information.

This is what I hear (and see) often.  The lib/dem will shake their head and say something about how horrible things are in the country.  They will always say this looking down at the floor.  Never any eye contact.  With anyone.  Then, if you nod some sort of agreement, they loudly proclaim that, “they all stink!”  “They’re all corrupt.”  But of course while the democrats may be bad right now, republicans are always worse.

Its pathological.  Interestingly, I see it most often in what look to be the over 55 folks.  Equally male and female.
I have to add (hope its OK to say), many blacks around here are very, very angry.  At something.  The women in particular.  I suspect because the person who truly did promise them great hope has proven to be a fraud, a liar, and a loser.  And that makes me feel really sad for them.

Love you boys.  Keep up the great work!
Michele in CT

PS: One item of note that I forgot to mention: bumper stickers.
There aren’t any.  On any cars.  Anywhere in my area.  And I’m out and about on the roads alot.
I have no idea what to make of this but other people have remarked on it too.  Two years ago Hopey Changey, and even McCain stickers were everywhere.  In every other election year that I can recall, there have always been stickers plastered to many, many cars.
In addition to the McMahon/Blumy race, there is also a very important congressional race going on here (for Chris Shays old seat).  But judging by people’s cars, you’d never know it.
Again, I don’t know what this means but thought you might find it interesting.

GREAT MERCIFUL ZEUS: Obamacare intentionally designed to give Muslims free healthcare and make Christians pay for it

Posted at October 19, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Obamacare forces YOU to bow to Islam, too!

We invite all of you, especially lawyers and scholars, to punch holes in our reasoning with this if you can…but last night when the lot of us were sitting around talking about Obamacare something dawned on us that we have not seen reported anywhere.  The puzzle pieces are all there, but no one has apparently put them together to reveal one of the true, deliberate intentions of Obamacare — namely to give Muslims in this country free healthcare and make Christians, Jews, and all non-Muslims pick up that tab for this new, favored elite under Obama.

In Islam, this is called a ‘jizya”, a financial penalty incurred for all those who have not submitted to Islam.  It is the stick that’s part of the effort to convert all non-Muslims into Muslims, so then they don’t have to pay this penalty.

Obama deliberately forced this into Obamacare as part of his personal effort to Islamize America.

Muslims are exempt from having to purchase health insurance under Obamacare, because the current president has awarded them special status under this law. Muslims consider insurance to be a form of gambling, and thus Obama has waived the requirement they join Americans in paying either for the insurance or incurring the noncompliance penalties.

Let’s think about what this means, in practical terms, considering the full scope of what Obamacare means for our economy and national healthcare system.

Michael Barone and many others have been noting since 2009 that Obama’s real goal with Obamacare is to drive private insurers out of business so that a single payer, government system emerges in this country similar to those that are imploding right now in the socialist “paradises” of Europe.

Already, we are seeing health insurance rates DOUBLING in states like Connecticut and major companies either being forced to drop employee insurance plans (or being given selected waivers, along with labor unions, that exempt them from Obamacare).

It’s plain to see the Obama administration has no idea what it is doing — or does it?

If the intent was to keep insurance companies in business but extend coverage to everyone, then Obama would appear foolish and inept, because Obamacare is skyrocketing rates, collapsing insurance companies from within, and forcing businesses into layoffs and even bankruptcies because of this draconian change in regulation.

If Obama’s intent was to drive the insurance industry out of business so a government single payer entity could take over, then his plan is marvelous, because this is exactly what this nation is slouching towards.

If we extrapolate this mess into the future, we arrive at a time and place where Obamacare remains the law of the land, private insurers have collapsed, and the world we live in demands either purchase of Obamacare or severe jizya for not complying with Obama’s mandate.

Meanwhile, Muslims don’t have to pay these penalties, because they are Muslims, but Muslims will be entitled to all the healthcare they want — which you, a non-Muslim will be paying for.

If Obamacare is the only insurance available, and all healthcare is “free” in this system because every non-Muslim is required to be enrolled in it or severely penalized, then Muslims can walk into any hospital, clinic, or medical center and get whatever they want…without paying a dime for it.

That’s because you, a Christian, paid their bill for them.

Welcome to dhimmihood…in America.

Can you put the various, deliberately obscured pieces of Obamacare together in a way that does not eventually reveal this same horrible picture?

Isn’t it unconstitutional for Obama to grant Muslims this favored status in America, exempting them from having to pay for their medical care, and putting their burden on non-Muslims as a form of jizya?

Do voters know what Obamacare as done…essentially making Islam our de facto state religion and turning this country into a nation where not being Muslim means having to pay higher taxes and penalties, just like the Koran dictates?

Please chime in and tell us if we’re wrong here, but this is how the pieces of Obamacare fit together for us.
