INDIANA GROUND REPORT

Posted at October 18, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Dear HillBuzz,
I travel central Indiana for my job.

I was recently in Joe Donelly’s district.  Democrat.   His district is HEAVILY union.

I saw only a handful of homes with his sign in front.  A TON for his republican challenger.

I also saw 3 billboards.   Huge monsterous billboards.

1st one.   Shame on Joe Donnelly for voting for Federally funded abortions. (he claims to be pro life)

2nd one had Joe Donnelly attached to strings and Nancy Pelosi was the puppet master….”Joe Donelly… Nancy Pelosi’s puppet”

3rd one said  Vote No to socialaism  .. Vote republican.

I was shocked.. in all my years in Indiana (I’m 42 ).. I have never seen so many billboards, homemade signs ect in yards.

One guy by Lafayette has his entire yard covered in it… all home made.

Another home has “buy your own damn healthcare”  … each word has a separate sign….takes up his entire front yard.

Even a business in an Indy suburb changes its sign  out front every week to something against Obama.

I have never seen people so riled up that they cover their yards in signs.

Kristi

Do the number of yard signs for a candidate mean anything?

Posted at October 18, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Can you research-minded readers look for any sort of article out there that delves into whether or not the amount of yard signs out for a candidate corresponds at all to the actual support that person receives at the ballot box?

It’s tempting to think “Oh, I haven’t seen any signs for so and so, so that must mean people hate him and he’ll lose”…but in 2008 in all the traveling we did first for Hillary Clinton and then for McCain/Palin we ran into many situations where areas that had zero Obama signs but plenty of Clinton/McCain/Palin stuff still went for Obama.

We see a lot of mentions here and there of people talking about how many signs they spot for a candidate and just wonder if you have ever seen a definitive research minded look at the correlation between the number of signs and who wins an election.

Our gut is that you CANNOT judge a candidate’s support by the signs you see out…though it is tempting to.

Let’s see if we can find a real answer to that.

Bristol Palin Dancing with the Stars Watch Thread

Posted at October 18, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Bristol Palin will be on Dancing with the Stars again tonight.

Don’t forget, you can start dialing for her the moment the show starts….and you can vote for her up to 8 times on www.ABC.Com.

We won’t be able to watch the show tonight, but hope some of you can live-comment on it as it’s on so that we can catch up when we get home.

This last Saturday Margaret Cho was in Chicago doing a show and was very sour grapes about Dancing with the Stars.  A friend of ours works at the theater she performed in and said Cho, backstage and off mic, was very nasty towards many of her co-stars, including Bristol Palin, whom she called “fat and dumb”.

Well, all we can say to that is LOOK WHO IS TALKING MARGARET CHO.

“Fat and dumb” are two of the nicer things Margaret Cho can accurately be called.

She also had a real problem with Florence Henderson, of all people, and made racial jokes about Brandy.

None of this should surprise anyone who has followed the career of Margaret Cho through the years.  Make that “career”.  She has one joke, and it’s making fun of the way her Korean immigrant mother talks, just putting that character into disjointed sketches where she expresses outrage over something sexual or pornography, in broken English/imaginary Korean.

Not funny.

As for ripping on her co-starts and bemoaning she was voted off in the second week…not classy.

We’ve really grown to admire, respect, and feel protective of Bristol during this competition so hope you do all you can to keep her in this race.

Just think how much that will tick off Margaret Cho.

Calling for on-the-ground reports from wherever you are…what are people saying about Democrats where you live?

Posted at October 18, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Email us at:  HillBuzz@gmail.com

Yah, yah, you’re not a writer.

Blah, blah.

You’ve got something to say, we bet…and you know more than you realize about what people are saying about Democrats in the circles you keep.

Don’t worry about making it good.  Don’t worry about being perfect.  Don’t worry about spelling or style or whatever.

Just write us an email, noting where you are writing in from, and tell us what your friends, family, and neighbors are saying about Democrats and Obama where you are.

We love these woman-and-man-in-the-street reports from all over.  We’d love to get more of them.

They do more good than anyone individually could know because they are these fascinating little peeks into other cities, and sometimes even other countries, that help us all here get a better picture of what’s really going on out there than even the media itself has.

Use this thread to comment in this vein as well…and if you are a lurker, one thing you could really do to help in this election is to de-lurk and start chiming in.  We need to hear from you because you may just have an idea or insight that could spark an idea that would clobber the Democrats hard.

The Left is on the ropes…and continued efforts on your part could be what’s needed to really send them into a knockout doom spiral.

Sign your emails however you want…we respect privacy…and just put into a few paragraphs what you are seeing and hearing around you in terms of the public’s opinion of Democrats.

Wouldn't YOU rather see a horse in a soccer tournament than stand behind a rope waiting for Michelle Antoinette to wave in your general direction?

Posted at October 18, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Here’s another article about how badly the Obamas behave in Washington, mistreating top Democrat donors and carrying on the way they probably imagine King Louis and Queen Marie did at Versailles (if both of them bad been big queens and unapologetic narcissists).

Our favorite part is this, where Maureen Malek describes why she turned down a chance to stand behind a red velvet rope and await the illustrious presence of the Obamas:

“I didn’t go. My granddaughter was in a soccer tournament. Or maybe it was her horse. I can’t remember exactly what it was, but it was on the same day,’’ she explains, making her priorities clear.

We think we would remember if a horse we knew was in a soccer tournament.

Because that day would be recorded on our calendar with neon writing that read:  MOST AWESOME DAY EVER!!! SAW HORSE IN SOCCER TOURNAMENT!!! DIDN’T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE BOUGIE OBAMAS EITHER!!!

The article above gets into the weird new White House practice of using thick red velvet ropes to keep the current president and first spouse away from White House guests.  The current president doesn’t like to shake people’s hands and take pictures with them (unless, weirdly, they are men like Gregory “Greggors” Dingens…who Obama lit up around like a seventeen year old girl at the prom). The ropes prevent his having to mingle with commoners.

Since they also, apparently, run through underground networks of pipes and tubes (just like Ted Steven’s conception of the Internets) and terminate in a shadowy, secret lair kept by George Soros, the ropes appear to be part of the way this supervillain controls the current occupants of the White House. Like proud of their country for the first time in their adult lives ventriloquist dummies.

No other president has used ropes like this in the White House.

The Reagans.  All the Bushes. The Clintons.  They met guests in receiving lines and mingled with them in the various reception rooms.

The Obamas, instead, have roped off areas at all their fancy parties where they can be seen but not approached.  They claim this is the Secret Service insisting upon this — but it just seems like more of their bad behavior.

HOWEVER, we will momentarily consider the Secret Service really being behind these rope lines…because Obama is more protected than any president before him because he is black.  The Secret Service must realize the racial nightmare that would unfold if the “historic and unprecedented first black president” received any harm on their watch.  Not only would the Secret Service be excoriated for that, but many in the black community would seize that occasion to riot in large cities like LA, New York, and Chicago.  In the aftermath of that tragedy, America would be faced with an Obama that became a god…everything possible would be named after him…his face would be everywhere…the Left would demand this new martyr be put on the money…on Rushmore…and NASA would be refunded solely for the purpose of flying back to the moon to carve his grinning face into the lunar rock.

So, those red velvet ropes might just be small evidence of the Secret Service ramping up presidential protection for this administration to avoid not only harm coming to the man himself, but to he nation in the wake of his forseeable deification.

It should be absolutely everyone’s daily prayer that the Obamas remain healthy, protected, and unharmed for the remainder of his two years in office…so we do not end up with “Obama the God” as part of the indelible American experience for the rest of time.  He needs to be defeated at the ballot box in 2012 and shipped off to Hawaii in 2013, where he’ll begin his Jimmy Carter-esque post-presidential career as an anti-American, anti-Israel, pro-Islam, national embarrassment.

So, maybe this rope line business is 50% hubris and Versailles-grand narcissism and 50% Secret Service enhanced protection.

Since the latter is a very real possibility, we are totally for it.

Rope everything off if need be.

Dennis Kucinich in trouble in Cleveland — when undecideds factored in, he's losing by 4pts.

Posted at October 18, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

This is amazing.

Perpetual loon and eternal moonbat presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, who was portrayed by Amy Poehler on SNL in 2008 Democrat primary sketches, is in grave danger of losing his seat to Republican Peter Corrigan in the Greater Cleveland area.

Right now, he’s only leading by 4 points but with a large amount of undecideds.  When these people are factored in, after fully grasping Kucinich’s pro-amnesty love affair with criminal aliens, then Corrigan actually takes the LEAD by 4 points.

There’s a damn good chance Kucinich could lose his seat and be booted from Congress unceremoniously the way Clevelanders kicked his sorry can out of the Mayor’s office in the 1970s…and he was so friendless and broke he had to move to California where he lived in Shelly Winters’ pool house and skimmed leaves out of the water and replaced the chlorine cartridges because he didn’t have any money to pay her rent.

That is a true story.

With Winters now, sadly, dead…who knows whose cabana Kucinich will have to live in if he’s kicked out of the House.

Every day, the midterm elections look to be shaping up to be more and more of a historic, regime-cleansing tsunami straight out of Democrats’ worst nightmares.

All thanks to Obama…who admitted the difference between 1994 and 2010 was this time Democrats “have (him)”.

Boy, do they ever.

Have him…to blame.

Operation NOT THE CHANGE YOU HOPED FOR? palm cards — help us set the wording for distribution effort

Posted at October 18, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

h/t ShortTermer

UPDATE: 10/18/10 330pm: The tagline under Obama in this image should read: “Not the CHANGE you HOPED for?”

Can someone photoshop that for us, keeping the same font and smurf-blue coloring of the HOPE in the above and format the JPEG so that it would be the exact size of a business card?  What I picture is the Obama Sheperd Fairey picture elongated so that dark blue of his suit is stretch more at the bottom to accommodate more words.

Then in place of hope, “Not the CHANGE you HOPED for?” is inserted.  Only CHANGE and HOPED are in all caps for easy of reading.

Then the reverse of the card will have facts about what this administration has done since taking office.

The question on the reverse side of the card is “Why are you voting for Democrats when this is what they do in Washington, despite what they promised?”

UPDATE 10/18/10 300pm: Please read through the comments below and pick out your TOP THREE ideas that you like best for the cards and then list them 1., 2., 3. in the thread below.

What we’d love for the front of the card is to have that Obama “Hope” picture, but to add a question mark to it and somehow work in a riff on HOW DID HOPE AND CHANGE WORK OUT FOR YOU? instead of just the “Hope” that’s up there.

What do you think of “How did pinning your HOPE on him work out for you?”

“How did pinning your HOPE on Democrats work out for you?”

Something like that…which makes people think about the consequences of keeping Democrats in power.

And then on the reverse items about how Obamacare and other things Democrats have pushed have detrimentally impacted the lives of so many Americans, despite all those promises of positive hope and change.

*************************************************************

We don’t have much time so we want to close the loop on this by Tuesday afternoon so we can start hitting the streets here in Chicago with these — and you can do the same thing where you live.

Use this thread to brainstorm and formulate some great ideas for what should be on palm cards that we can pass out at train stations, put on cars (hopefully while parked), stick into people’s doors, and leave all over stores, gyms, libraries, and other places people frequent.

IDEA:

* Cards will be the size of business cards to maximize the number that can be printed on a single sheet of cardstock paper

* In Boystown, this is how people advertise events — instead of printing large posters or flyers, these cards are just left all over the bars, tacked up to bulletin boards at Starbucks, and left in empty gym lockers

* Even if someone picks it up and throws it away, they still saw it.  It’s in their head now.  And if they junked it the cost invested is minimal

THEME:

* How has Hope & Change worked out for you?

* Cards should remind voters of what Democrats promised in 2008, and what they did to the country instead.

* Cards must get people to think about their financial situations and ask them if Democrats have made things better or worse since taking office.

* Cards should ask people if they feel good about their children’s (and grandchildren’s) futures with Democrats in control

AUDIENCE:

* Cards are really geared towards Independents

* Nothing nasty about Obama on them — just facts, asking people to think about what Democrats have done and if this in fact improved their lives.

* No mention of Republicans on the cards — just making voters focus on the job Democrats have done and asking them to judge whether they should be allowed to stay this course for another two years or if they should be fired and replaced by someone else.

GOAL:

* Get people on the fence to vote against Democrats

* Get Independent and loosely-identifying Dems to just stay home if they don’t want to vote Republican

* Cards will have no impact on Obama cultists…there is no way to turn these people

* Presumption is that conservatives are already fired up…this is an effort to address the casual voter and person not too invested in following politics who doesn’t read websites like this or watch much political coverage on TV

We think Governor Palin’s Facebook posts can be mined for all sorts of great things to put on these cards.

Who can start looking back on those and finding some great quotes, information, and stats we can include on the palm cards?

Getting her ideas out there to a wider audience who would not necessarily read them on Facebook is a big help to the cause.

Start filling up this thread with information you think would be persuasive if someone found it on a card, and tell us any ideas you have for a simple, small graphic that can catch the eye on one side while not taking up all the room so as much text as possible can be included on the cards.

This needs to be sharp, clear, and concise…with every word counting and needing to be as powerful and impactful as possible.

Let’s get creative and get these designed.

Once we’ve done that, we can find a way to formulate them into sheets that can be automatically printed somehow as a PDF file…maybe even setup to print on business card paper so that people can run them off at home or taken them to Kinko’s if they need to.

Maybe someone out there can find a printer who’d be able to print these for a value price and could overnight ship them so that if people ordered from that printer they could have cards the next day.  This would be a great way for a small printing business to make some money off this project — so if you are such a place, or know of one, let us know and maybe we can set up a permanent link to drive this business to you to pump out as many palm cards as possible.
