The Word Governor Palin was looking for on Greta tonight was "Cocktail Party"
It’s a Tea Party vs. Cocktail Party battle for the soul of the Republican Party, with conservatives destined to win in the end…if we just define the GOP establishment in a way that regular people can immediately understand, so that people who don’t follow politics that closely can appreciate exactly WHY the establishment needs to be cleaned out by 2012.

Dancing With the Stars Results Show Thread
Does anyone here know if there’s a way to watch ABC’s Dancing with the Stars over the computer streaming?
For people who don’t have a TV and want to watch it.
If someone can get us a link, we’ll live-blog the results, but otherwise please use this thread if you are watching to tell us what’s happening and if they tell us how many votes Bristol Palin got from America. We need to know how many votes she’s getting to determine if Palin supporters are effectively organized and mobilized to keep her in the show as long as possible.
Please chime in as the show airs with anything else you want to say about DWTS.

UPDATE: Looks like you can watch the show live via PalinTV. Right now, at 612pm CST, they’re playing Wheel of Fortune, which we haven’t seen or thought about in probably 20 years. And Pat and Vanna look exactly the same, which is kind of wonderful because we really like them both.

UPDATE: If you haven’t already done son, could you please head over to Bristol Palin’s Facebook page and “like” it? We still don’t really understand this social networking stuff, and we frankly think it’s silly, but we know it’s important to a lot of people…and that if we want to keep on top of things we should get with the program. Bristol is at 4,000 or so “fans” at the moment, and we’d like to see her get much, much higher. Can we get her an extra thousand people off HillBuzz? That would be great if we could help her pass another milestone.
Looking over her page, and seeing the things she’s written there, we have to say that we just keep getting more and more impressed with this young lady.
To be honest, we never paid much attention to her before, because she wasn’t running for anything and didn’t take a speaking role during the campaign, so we just saw her as a very nice girl who made an understandable mistake then owned up to it, assumed her responsibilities, and grew into a mighty fine mother and admirable adult (overnight).
But, seeing Bristol on DWTS and reading her Facebook page, she really and truly is a VERY NICE young lady. She’s respectful and kind and full of light and life. You can just tell in the pictures she posts…her personality really comes through, especially in all the silly shots where she’s hamming it up with Mark Ballas or other friends.
She’s totally the kind of girl we remember being friends with back in high school…and for a politician’s daughter she reminds us a lot of Chelsea Clinton, whom we saw a lot of during the 2008 campaign, and who ranks as one of the nicest people we’ve ever met.
You can’t fake nice, folks. You can’t learn to be kind the way you can practice and perfect dance moves. This girl was raised right, and maintained her true nature despite being attacked nonstop for two years. A weaker character would have cracked under that strain. There’s no Megan McCain bitterness. There’s no spoiled Princess Caroline Kennedy entitlement. There’s no Gore girls vapidness.
It’s really refreshing.

Carl Paladino is like a real-life Bullworth. We think we love this man.

Man alive, this is funny stuff.
All of five of you have probably seen the 90s movie Bullworth (which feels like the last movie Warren Beatty was ever in).
It’s the story of a politician who one day decides to stop playing all the games, mincing his words, and being afraid of speaking the truth to the media.
So, he just lets loose, tells it like it is, and voters love it…because THAT is what they have wanted from politicians for YEARS.
Americans are plain-spoken, sassy, smart-aleks by and large. This is who our heroes have always been: people who are sharp, quippy, and tells-it-likes-it-is.
This is a large part of why we instantly liked people like Governor Christie, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, Governor Jan Brewer, Lt. Colonel Allen West, and Governor Palin, from the moment we first heard any of them speak. They just punch ugly right in the face and don’t hold back.
Can you imagine it — REPUBLICANS standing strong and decking the idiots and hecklers?
Never thought we’d see the day.
Apparently, Joy Behar was running her mouth on The View, saying all sorts of weird and petty things about Paladino, so he shot back at her (and how ridiculous she looks). Here’s what he said, getting a nice jab in there about both Behar’s hairstylist and her hot flashes.
Behar is an unfunny “comedienne” of the Janine Garafalo/Kathy Griffin stripe who sure can dish the disses, but can’t hardly take them. We’re sure when she heard Paladino’s response she wailed and howled, not comprehending a reality where a Republican punches back.
Do you see, conservatives, what sort of malignant legacy the Cocktail Party has built up in this country…where the Left, in the form of talking heads like Behar, is so used to pounding Republicans because the GOP has never hit back.
“Take the high road”, GOP consultants always advise.
“You must not be combatative”, the Cocktail Party poohbahs warn.
“If you fight back, you won’t be invited to any good events and the media won’t write nice stories about you,” the elite caution.
All of these people are fools.
DAMN FOOLS.
This is a country that’s put their butts into seats for HOW MANY Rocky movies at this point? Eleventy.

Please say a prayer for Jimmy Carter — fell ill today on a flight to Cleveland
This is really a weird coincidence, but the woman quoted in this story, Jacquelin Mayo, the spokesperson for Delta, went to high school with one of us (she’s darling). So fun that she got into PR (we remember her from French and Drama clubs, and she was so nice).
Anyway, Jimmy Carter got sick on a flight to Cleveland today and had to be rushed to MetroHealth Hospital, where several people we know work. He had to cancel an appearance at the Joseph-Beth bookstore in Lyndhurst (that we used to go to all the time…especially when Sebastian was with David, because David’s family lives very nearby, and they’re all terrible, so when visiting Cleveland with him we’d make every excuse possible to go to this mall and spend all day there…AND there’s a Cheesecake Factory there too…it’s one of those malls that’s setup like an imaginary village with all the stores in building that look olde-tymey and magical).
Carter was doing a book tour, for his latest anti-Semitic tripe about how terrible Israel is and how wonderful Muslims are. Some people waiting in line for him to show up thought he actually wrote the book “Carter Beats the Devil”, an autobiographical account of his successful battle against Satan in the 1970s. Those people are stupid, because (1) Carter didn’t write that, (2) he’s not even the “Carter” in that book (it’s really about Noah Wylie), and (3) Carter never beat anyone other than Gerald Ford at anything.
Still, as much as we don’t respect or like the man, former president (small p) Carter is sick, and he’s being treated in our hometown of Cleveland, so please pray he gets better. No matter what you think of ANYONE, never ever wish suffering on them or delight in their illness. You can disagree with people politically all you want and can rail against them for all the evil they have done, but we are all human, are all frail, and are all in need of prayers when our bodies fail us.
We want Jimmy Carter to be in good health and of good cheer so that before he dies he might one day realize the extreme error of his ways and make amends while he has the chance. This is the same wish and prayer we held in our hearts for Ted Kennedy for all those years, hoping he’d admit to murdering Mary Jo Kopechne and plotting against the US government with the Soviets in the late 70s/early 80s. We also hope the current occupants of the White House realize the error of their own ways and apologize to America as often as they’ve apologized FOR America to all the many tyrants of the world.
We heard from friends at MetroHealth that when Carter was admitted he had soiled himself and was extremely embarrassed at the state of his clothes and how he was presented, so today was a very hard day for a man who’s 85 and got sick on that plane.
Please pray for him…for his health…his dignity…and for him to gain wisdom enough to appreciate just how awful he’s been for so many years.
The Most Bizarre Pejorative Used Against Governor Palin: Calling Her A "McGovern"
Here’s a piece I just did for Conservatives4Palin about what has to be the dumbest article I’ve read in a while, where Peter Beinart claims Governor Palin is a “McGovern” for the Republican Party.
Read the whole piece at the link, but here’s where this is crazy:
(1) McGovern was a “McGovern” for the Democrats because he pulled the party far to the Left in a Center-Right country. He, and Carter after him, gave Democrats a bad name for a generation because Americans came to view Democrats as crazy people controlled by anti-American Marxists and Jacksonian Democrats fled the party and became Reagan Democrats until the Clintons emerged in the 90s to pull the party — against its will — to the Center.
(2) The Left hated the Clintons for the above, and vowed to pull the Democrat Party back to the Left…hence Obama…and the 2008 takeover of the DNC by the Left…and the mess we’re all in now.
(3) The country wants to push back across the Center and into the Right to repair the damage the Left has done. Just like it did with Reagan in 1980. Governor Palin has emerged as the woman on the scene ready to take the reins and do this pulling. She is going to take the country where it wants to go…as opposed to McGovern, who pulled the nation in the wrong direction, and destroyed the Democrats for a generation just as Obama’s done in the last two years.
(4) Beinart at The Daily Beast is a Leftist, and he’s actually trying to address the Cocktail Party in the GOP, because he’s attempting to give them a new pejorative for establishment Romney types to use against Governor Palin at cocktail parties. ”Can’t run her. She’s a Republican McGovern! We need to run Mittens! No one hates him. The media loves him. That Palin’s too polarizing! And, she’s a lady, so she has cooties!”
(5) Palin, like Reagan before her, will pull the country in the direction it wants to go — to the Right — and Leftist writers like Beinart are going to howl and wail about it like vampires doused with holy water and garlic.
(6) It’s going to take a generation for Democrats to recover from Obama and what the Left has done. Beinart won’t admit this, because Beinart is a Leftist who thinks this country SHOULD be pulled Left. All of his colleagues in the Old Media agree with him. They wishcast instead of broadcast and write in a fantasy world where all their dreams need to come true. They think the American people are stupid and don’t know what’s best for them. Their only hope of Obama getting a second term is for Republicans to make Mittens Romney the nominee. In 2012, voters want to have a real conservative candidate on the ballot. They do not want Democrat-Lite. In fact, they never wanted Democrat-Lite, that’s why Republicans lose so many elections.
(7) The Cocktail Party GOP establishment needs to be removed from power. This Democrat-Lite stuff needs to stop. Governor Palin, Governor Chris Christie, Lt. Colonel Allen West, Governor Jan Brewer, Gubernatorial Candidate Nikki Haley, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann…THIS is where the GOP needs to go for leadership. No more Mittens. No more Tim Pawlenty. No more Mitch Daniels. No more John Thune. No more squishy RINOS.
I don’t care how many times I have to repeat this or how loudly I have to say it…I am going to keep writing about this on every platform available to me until conservatives out there wake up and listen.

Do you remember Elvira, from the old TV show? She also made a movie and did beer commercials.
Well, she works for NBC now and is the Director of Something or Another and she sent us an email a few minutes ago because in one of our articles yesterday or the day before she said we used too much of NBC’s content, so she asked us to remove it and just put a link to it instead.
We wrote back and told her we’d do that, and asked her what she was going to be for Halloween, but she hasn’t written back yet.
Maybe that was a dumb question, since she’s Elvira, and is probably going to be Elvira for Halloween.
Every so often someone famous like this writes in and it really does make our day…even if they are sort of mad at us about something.
ACTION ITEM: Help us make the term "Cocktail Party" ubiquitous when it comes to the GOP establisment
Here’s a little behind-the-scenes action for you from Chicago.
Currently, the Cocktail Party GOP establishment here, in the form of the Cook County GOP, is desperately trying to figure out who are sources are within the Republican Party. Mainly this is Lee Roupas, Cook County GOP Chair, and Beth Christie, multi-millionaire cougar, being upset that we keep exposing the terrible things the two of them do in Chicago, but it also involved Romney people who are mad we’ve told you the story of Mittens’ “spicy sandwich”, which gave us the idea last year to start calling the guys the GOP establishment is pushing for 2012 “soggy sandwiches”.
We weren’t supposed to know about what happened at that luncheon because it was held at one of the super-exclusive private clubs here in Chicago last year, which we weren’t invited to, where Mittens Romney met with several of the Cocktail Party establishment guys — in supposed secret — to lay down the foundations for his 2012 Chicago-based ground team (where Mittens knows the Chicago team will actively run ops in eastern Iowa for the first nominating contest, just as Obama’s Chicago team organized from our turf to hit Iowa for him in 2008).
At the luncheon, someone we know was there, and watched Mittens send a sandwich back THREE TIMES because he kept insisting it was “too spicy”.
It was a processed turkey sandwich, on white bread, with mayonnaise and iceberg lettuce.
And Mittens thought it was “too spicy”.
He was polite about it, and very nice to the waiter, but he’d take a bite, his face would scrunch up, and he’d waive his hand in front of his face as if he was biting down on fiery habaneros.
The other men at the table followed Mittens’ lead, and soon all of them were complaining about how spicy their sandwiches were too. Meanwhile, back in the kitchen, the chefs laughed and laughed at these clowns…since there wasn’t a spice to be had in those sandwiches. Not even a little cumin. Not a single spec of paprika. Let alone a zing of chili.
“These sandwiches sure are spicy guys, I just burned my tongue!”
“My sandwich is so spicy I need to call the fire department!”
“There’s so much spice in my sandwich my tummy is hurting and I’m going to have an uh-oh. Good thing my wife makes me pack extra undies in my briefcase! Just in case!”
“That makes it your “just-in-case-case”, right Governor?”
“Ha, ha, ha. That’s right! In case I encounter any spicy sandwiches like these!”.
This really happened folks.
The dialogue is us being us, but Mittens really had an epic problem eating a processed turkey sandwich in Chicago back in 2009 at a top-secret Romney 2012 planning meeting. He might be a nice man, and by all accounts he really is. We think he’ll make a fantastic Treasury Secretary. We like his wife Ann very much and we’re glad she keeps his “just-in-case-case” fully loaded and ready to go.
But Mittens can’t be the 2012 GOP nominee. He’s just not man enough for the job…in a year when the person that is happens to be a woman.
The GOP Cocktail Party is, right now, as we speak, working hard to institutionally prevent Governor Palin from becoming the 2012 nominee because these impotent, limp, “my sandwich is too spicy” guys have already decided “it’s Romney’s turn” since “Romney wanted to be president since the 70s”.
At cocktail parties in large cities across the country, these guys in their blazers, with women in their best Ann Taylor, get together and scorn the Tea Party and its grassroots energy. They don’t believe the Republican Party should be run from the bottom up, because they enjoy being in the Union League or City Club looking down on the rabble from their penthouse view. Scotch on the rocks in one hand, with their resumes in the other, these Cocktail Party Republicans see political campaigns as networking opportunities to advance their careers and afford them opportunities to get better, more important jobs in the future by way of the political connections they’ll make if Mittens Romney is the nominee.
The Cocktail Party GOP establishment does not believe in conservativism.
The Cocktail Party GOP establishment does not particularly care about America…or Americans…and, frankly, looks down on anyone not wearing a blue blazer or cream Ann Taylor just as much as Democrats do. These are elitists of the worst kind, in politics just for the lucrative opportunities it affords, and not because of the chance it brings to do something for the country and the hardworking men and women in it.
We need regular, average Americans of the conservative bent to cast off the Cocktail Party GOP establishment and replace these blue-blazered snobs with ordinary folk who will seek office to get the job done, not angle for high paying jobs in a losing Mittens Romney campaign.
We think a great way to do this is to use the “Cocktail Party vs. Tea Party” imagery as much as possible…to highlight just how out of touch these Union League Club Republicans are.
Americans like spicy sandwiches. The spicier the better.
Their tummies are cast-iron and can take it. None of them have had any “uh-ohs” for many years now. They are field-hardened, hand-calloused, hard-working, red-blooded Americans like Governor Palin…and President Reagan before her.
It’s really overwhelming, sometimes, to realize that we don’t just have to battle the Left for the next two years, but we really and truly do need to take the fight to the Cocktail Party. These guys are incredibly well-funded. More than that, they really and truly do need those jobs that Mittens Romney is promising them in his campaign. They have committed to Mittens, and they are going to do everything they can to make sure he gets the nomination…so they get their handsome rewards.
To save America, and to take the White House away from Obama in 2012, we’re going to have to crash the Cocktail Party to the ground, and yank these Romney Guys from their pedestals of influence in politics.
That is NOT going to be easy.
But, we’re telling you definitively that the Romney 2012 people DO NOT like the spicy sandwich story being told, and are aggressively trying to figure out who at the meeting told us about it.
They also do not like that we’ve coined the term “Cocktail Party” and they do not want this to spread, because it immediately defines the GOP establishment in negative and understandable terms the American voter can readily appreciate.
Help us brand the GOP establishment as the “Cocktail Party” in all media…so that voters naturally contrast these wimps with Tea Party candidates…and Americans boot not just the Left in the years ahead, but these self-serving RINOs as well.

Here’s the latest cucumbers-and-mayonnaise boring Cocktail Party Republican being pushed by the media today: John Thune edition.
Are we the only ones who see through this garbage?
This is the same sort of nonsense the media used to write about John McCain…and that they wrote about Bob Dole back in the mid-90s, when the Cocktail Party establishment wanted Dole to be the nominee (which was fine with us back then, because we wanted the Clintons to have their second term).
Now that we’re committed to defeating the Democrats in all that they do, we’re not going to let the media push these born losers like Thune as the GOP 2012 nominee without getting conservatives to take a long hard look at what the media does.
You do see that the Cocktail Party GOP establishment is working hard every day to make sure that Governor Palin is not the 2012 nominee…and that the state media actually helps the Cocktail Party get what it wants, because it knows soggy sandwiches like Thune won’t win an election against Obama. You see this, right?
Sometimes, when we read this junk the media puts out there, we feel like a little kid at a bad Children’s Theater production, where someone is in disguise trying to fool the other characters on the stage and the more observant kids can’t help but shout out “Don’t listen to him! That’s the bad guy! Don’t let him fool you! It’s a fake mustache!”.
There’s also something seriously creepy about John Thune that we just can’t put our finger on.
It might be that his name, John Thune, feels like something out of an Ira Levin novel or 1970s Richard Donner horror movie. ”John Thune” makes us think of “Damien Thorne“. And that’s something we don’t want anywhere near the presidency.
He might be the nicest man in the world, but he seriously does give us the creeps, and it’s not just his name. There’s SOMETHING not right about him, in his eyes, when he smiles. We don’t trust him…in the same way that even before he hit it big on the national scene we found Obama to be creepy and not trustworthy. In life, we’ve found it best to always go with our gut on things like this.
The Cocktail Party keeps telling the media to push Thune, though.
We don’t know why.
Can any of you shed some light on this?
Frankly, the man is not someone we’d even want considered for Vice President. He can stay a Senator in South Dakota for as long as the people there want him, but we’re telling you, there’s something about him that gives us the CREEPS. That does not happen often, either.
