We're so thrilled someone caught this on video: geese flyover million-strong crowd at Restoring Honor rally at EXACTLY 10 am when the rally was set to commence

Posted at August 30, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

It’s funny, but just about everyone around us at the rally saw these geese fly over the crowd, and everyone remarked on how beautiful it was to see them.

Glenn Beck called it “a flyover from God”.

That reminds us of the scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where Sean Connery’s on the beach, with his professorial briefcase and umbrella, and he uses the gulls scuttling across the sand as weapons against the Nazi fighter barreling down on Indy and him.

“Let my armies be the rocks and the trees and the birds in the sky,” Connery says, telling his son he’s quoting Charlemagne.

The birds in the sky, indeed.

And the Legos on your YouTube:

The Left is really wigged out by the Restoring Honor rally: troll comments and hatemail are up

Posted at August 30, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

That phenomenon we’ve told you about is happening again:  whenever something has the Left worked up, and they are scared about the reality they are facing in November, they lash out at all available targets…and being one of those targets, we experience an uptick in hatemail and troll comments on this site.  Both in the venom and nastiness of the remarks, as well as the volume of nastygrams from the Left.

It happens every time something rattles them, and they don’t know how to process that, so they default to what the Left has always taught these people, and it’s to berate, bully, bite, claw, and attack their perceived enemies.

This brings to mind something remarkable we saw in the crowd at Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor rally this weekend.  A woman was frustrated because dozens of people kept pushing in front of her to get passed in the crowd, because a makeshift aisle had opened up where she was standing, though she had to keep moving all of her things to let the parade of people through.  She was a very nice woman who lost her cool for a moment because she literally had been up and down, up and down, up and down a dozen times and just wanted to settle back in and wait for the rally to start.

Well, a very elegant southern woman in a beautiful red, white, and blue American flag jacket asked politely if she could walk passed the frustrated woman, and instead of just letting her pass, she decided to put her foot down and say, “NO! I’ve been up and down so many times, I just can’t keep track.  I just want to sit down and rest and I’m so tired of people trying to come through here.  I’m sick of it.”

“Today is about love,” the elegant woman said, in a voice as warm and friendly as peach cobbler.

“Today is about me drawing the line somewhere, because I don’t want all these people to keep walking over me”.

“I pray for you to receive patience,” the elegant woman said, as others in the crowd shifted positions so she could walk by.

Her perfume trailed behind her a little, very gently, the way an angel’s light would linger once she’d left.

The effect on the frustrated woman was instantaneous and remarkable.

“She’s right,” the woman said. “I should be more patient. Today is about love.  I just am so tired, from camping out here all night, and I just want to rest before the rally starts.  I don’t want to keep getting up and down all the time”.

“Well, you come sit next to me, sister, and no one’s going to make you move,” a man a row ahead of us said.

When I looked over to see who it was, I realized it was a big bear of a vet, in a wheelchair, with a hook for an arm and a big grin on his face.  The friend of his that was sitting next to him got up out of his chair, and traded places with the frustrated woman.  Then, she got to sit safely next to the big vet, in a place no one would try to muscle through passed her, and that’s where she stayed for the rest of the rally, next to her new friend, with everyone happy.

All of this comes to mind for several reasons:

(1) No matter how much the trolls and goblins out there hit us with, we’re never going to allow them to get to us again.  The more effective all of us are, the more they are going to lash out, with everything they’ve got, because that’s all they know how to do.  Our response needs to be that of the elegant, Southern woman:  pray that they one day see the error of the ways, for they know not the evil they do.  Pray that they someday receive the blessing of hindsight and realize how badly they lived their lives, while there is still a chance for them to remedy this. Pray that wisdom someday is given to them, so that they might find better ways in the future to express their disagreement with someone — instead of the vile, venomous, nasty attacks they make such frequent use of.

(2) All around us, there are people like that big vet in the wheelchair who are potential allies, mentors, guides, teachers, and problem solvers when moments arise that require them.  We never know where they are, but they are out there, and if we have faith, they’ll reveal themselves when we need them most.  This is true of any situation, including times when we’re plagued by the trolls and hatemailers. As another vet told us once, if you aren’t taken flak, you aren’t over the target.

(3) Remember what we said before about Quest Theory:  the troll attacks and hatemail upticks are clues that tell us whatever we’re doing is getting to the Left, and since that’s what we want to do, then we’re being effective.  If we are driving these lunatics crazy, then we are doing something right.  AND, every time some Leftist site links here to attack us, they hand us thousands of more hits that day, which makes us a more valuable site and helps us get that much closer to our 11 Million Hits Mark (which is coming in September, with this site only existing on WordPress since July of 2008…so that’s 11 million hits in a little over two years…many more hits than some of these sites that attack us, combined, which probably makes these loons all the angrier).

That elegant woman in the crowd was an angel, we’re convinced of it.  Her voice, her diction, her bearing, her presence.  All of it.  Just too perfect, too authoritative, too elegant to have just been some random, coincidental stranger in the crowd. She was there to teach us, and the frustrated lady herself, a lesson.

And we hope we were able to pass this lesson onto you, because from now on whenever anyone says anything horrible to us, after we say our usual snarky comeback, we’re going to top things off with an “I pray for you to have…fill in the blank with virtue of your choice”.

How do you come back at someone when they say something like that to you?

You can’t.

It’s even better than saying “Thank you for your opinion”.

It’s the perfect peach cobbler response.

Glenn Beck has called for people to send him accounts of acts of kindness evidenced during the Restoring Honor Rally this weekend

Posted at August 30, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

We’ll have our list up in the morning, which will be lengthy, as the entire rally was one large display of kindness, with multiple fractal layers of smaller kindnesses summed together into the historic gathering of one million Americans at the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday…but Glenn Beck has asked everyone to email him acts of kindness they witnessed at the Restoring Honor event.

We’d like you to do that, and in this thread tell us what you witnessed in person if you were there, or from home if you were watching on TV.

It was an honor to be on the ground at the rally, and it’s an experience we’re never going to forget. It honestly changed us in a few ways that we’ll talk about at length in the days ahead, once we’ve had time to sit down and quietly reflect on the meaning of it all.

But, for now, we’ll say that what Glenn Beck gave America on Saturday was an immense gift to not just treasure, but use practically in our every day lives.  It was really a blessing, and we’re so proud of the leadership Beck showed in bringing a million people together like that.

So, please email him your list of kind acts at the rally once you’ve compiled them.  It’s the least we can do to thank this man for putting together the rally.

SPECULATION: How do you think the Republican primaries will shake out in 2012?

Posted at August 30, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Every once in a while, we think it might be fun to take a look at what you think will happen with the Republican primaries in 2012.

Let’s use this thread to speculate on this, and also gather what facts we know at this point, such as any dates that have already been set that we need to watch.

Who do you think will be on the field when the primaries start…and at what point do you think these people get bumped off?

Who’s left standing at the end, in your opinion, and why?

You know how we stand on this, but we want to hear from you, and your take on it.

Have at it, prognosticators.

Are these two fools REALLY trying to figure out how to get an umbrella through this gate?

Posted at August 30, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Are they really THIS stupid?

Seriously?

Are the current occupants of the White House REALLY trying to figure out how to get this giant umbrella through that iron gate?

And neither of these Ivy League graduates were able to figure out that all they had to do was close the umbrella and it would slip right through with them?

Seriously?

Doesn’t the state media tell us, twelve times a day, how “brilliant” this pair allegedly is — while one of them dresses like a clown in drag, and the other one wishes he could get away with that. In public.

Fools.

Abject, utter, irredeemable, FOOLS.

They don’t even know it’s not RAINING.

Alaska Senate Watch Thread: will Princess Lisa Murkowski succeed, with RNC help, at thwarting the will of the people?

Posted at August 30, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Please help us stay up to date on developments in Alaska today.

We’ve talked to everyone we know who is well-versed in statistics and there is no mathematical way Princess Lisa Murkowski can legitimately come from behind and defeat Joe Miller for the Republican nomination in Alaska.

The last we heard, when early and absentee votes were being counted, she was only winning votes at a rate of 54%.  To make up the difference between herself and Joe Miller, she needed to pull in those votes at a rate of 60% at least.

So, she’s not going to be able to overcome Miller’s lead without trickery and ACORN-grade voter fraud.

The RNC has dispatched operatives to help her, because she’s the establishment candidate and this is what the Soggy Sandwich Society does: protect its own.

We can’t allow them to cheat…and, bigger picture, we need to all work together to clean house in the Republican ranks so the cocktail party cucumbers-and-mayonnaise go-along-to-get-along Romney Republicans are no longer calling the shots.

We need Joe Miller in the Senate.  We need Palin Republicans coast to coast in as many elected offices as possible.  We need Momma Grizzlies and the men who love them to take back the Republican party from the Romney Republicans, as a first step before taking back the country from the Left.

And, today, we need YOU to help us keep an eye on Alaska, you betcha.

It’s a busy day for us at Buzzquarters working on all the material we want to get out regarding the Restoring Honor rally, so help pick up some slack by keeping your eyes on Murkowski’s shenanigans for us.

Posted at August 30, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

We’ve been invited to appear on one of our favorite shows tomorrow, The Andrea Shea King Show. It will be at 9pm EST/8pm CST.

We’ll be talking about the Restoring Honor rally and the elements of it that we believe are going to have a big impact on the November elections.

Please tune in if you can. Here’s a link for the show.

Andrea Shea King is delightful and informative so if you aren’t already a daily listener, we’d highly encourage you to do so. She’s a hoot, always has interesting guests, and most importantly, is a very nice person who loves this country as much as we do.

Hope you tune-in!
