Anyone concerned about the Cult of Anthropogenic Global Warming, and interested in its takedown, needs to pay close attention to Tipper Gore and her movements.
Here’s another People magazine article on the Gores, which is 95% useless. Essentially, it’s just a blurb to keep the Gore sexual assault story in the headlines, without revealing anything new. This is a trick People magazine uses a lot — our guess is there’s a dry erase board in a boardroom somewhere, with the stories People’s editors want covered; every issue needs to have one piece on that story, even if it’s just a shallow recap, or an article quoting an unidentified “friend” weakly claiming this, that, or the other isn’t true. The principals involved in the story aren’t actually quoted, and no attempt even seems to be made to speak to them. The magazine knows it has months of stories ahead of it with the Gores…and People will string this out as long as it possibly can to sell more copies.
So, the only real interesting bit in this article is the mention of Tipper Gore “making a new life for herself” in California.
Why California?
In the article, it mentions Tipper being present for a big “family event’ at a lake somewhere in Tennessee, where presumably the Gores have many friends and family members. If someone wanted to “make a new life for herself” the natural place to do that would be somewhere like Tennessee, where Tipper would have a support system ready-made to springboard that new life.
Why choose California instead?
With all of California’s budget and other problems, not to mention the natural disasters and endemic woes, why resettle there? If Tipper wanted somewhere tropical and peaceful, there’s plenty of room in Florida and Hawaii. If she wanted someplace cosmopolitan and glamorous, there’s New York and Connecticut.
Why California?
It seems like this has 100% to do with California’s EXTREMELY generous 50/50 assets-splitting provisions in divorce.
And it feels like Tipper’s going to be filing for that divorce as a resident of the Golden State so she can take half of ManBearPig’s vast carbon-credit backed fortune.
We hope she gets as much as she can, then disappears into obscurity to enjoy her money any way she likes. We’ve never much liked Tipper Gore, and have thought she was something of a loon since her early 1990s crusade against rap music and its attempts to censor lyrics and destroy the careers of performers she did not approve of. No one appointed Mrs. Gore to be our watchdog or Culture Tsarina, and no one ever will. Take all of ManBearBig’s money, then take a flying leap, sister.
The Gores’ divorce will be very interesting for a great number of reasons, not least of all will be any insight we get into ManBearPig’s actual assets, and the full scope of how much the Cult of Anthropogenic Global Warming is actually worth.
It will also be interesting to see how effective a pope Gore will be to his cult after his fortune’s clipped in half by the California divorce, and all the exposure it will bring him.
Especially if Tipper intends to use People magazine and other tabloids, through unidentified “friends”, to further humiliate her soon to be ex husband by revealing everything about him. Maybe these little blurbs in the magazine that say nothing are something of a warning to Gore — letting him know that the magazine is committed to filling at least a page every issue on this story, so if Gore’s not generous with that divorce, Tipper could start getting chatty via intermediaries…with presumably an awful lot to tell that ManBearPig would want kept secret.
July 7, 2010 at 11:08 am
When I picture Tipper Gore in my mind, I see Joan London, the ABC reporter-turned-infomercial-queen.
July 7, 2010 at 11:19 am
Whether I agree or not with Tipper Gore’s past attempts to “clean up” the music industry, I do admire a woman who acts upon her beliefs instead of sitting idly and griping behind the scenes.
Something to think about for all of us during the next two years.
Never thought I’d look to Ms. Gore as a role model, but we all gotta get off our you-know-whats if we want our country healthy again.
July 8, 2010 at 9:44 am
Nobody in Tennessee gives a hoot about the Gore family. Okay. Maybe two or three people. The rest of us know what liars and frauds they are and have known it for years and years.
July 9, 2010 at 12:36 am
It was those hearings that lost my respect for then Senator Gore. Those musicians were lewd and crude with his wife and he wouldn’t step in to defend her. It took another senator to do so. All because she wanted notification on covers of albums. Not censorship, not banning, not making them illegal. Just a notice that warned parents/consumers of the content.
July 7, 2010 at 11:24 am
I’d would love to see what Algore’s alimony payment will be.
July 7, 2010 at 11:32 am
I’m sure the fact that they recently purchased a 9-million dollar home in California has something to do with ol’ Tipper spending more time there. A house, by the way, that will probably go to her as part of the divorce settlement.
July 7, 2010 at 3:12 pm
From what the photos show, the home and the grounds on which it sprawls are extraordinary. It’s also located in fire country. Okra’s spread is nearby. If you read that Dennis Miller put his Montecito estate on the market for twentysomething million, you’ll get the idea that Tipper’s new digs are located on some damn pricey dirt. At a measly nine million, Al and Tip got themselves a real steal. LOL
July 7, 2010 at 5:02 pm
I just thought the house was for Al to make points with what’s her name. No one ever mentions the million dollarS penthouse they bought in San Francisco. We need an update.
July 7, 2010 at 7:26 pm
My thoughts exactly. Tell me again how the pope of the AGW cult can own multiple, sprawling, carbon-spewing residences but the peons have to drive Priuses? Oh, that’s right, he’s infallible.
July 7, 2010 at 7:40 pm
He’s a lord. You’re a serf. That’s all you need to know about the Left.
July 8, 2010 at 11:48 am
What I find interesting is that they bought this house at all. California’s liberal divorce policies are common knowledge.
Is Al that dumb? Maybe. Maybe not. No question he’s a moron about science. But he has made a truly ginormous fortune since leaving the White House, so maybe where money is concerned, he’s not so stupid.
This leads me to suspect that Al agreed to buy a big ol’ mansion inside the sunny borders of divorce-friendly California in exchange for Tipper agreeing to keep her trap shut about heaven knows what number of Al’s horrible past actions.
July 7, 2010 at 12:22 pm
Her kids are grown; a small (albeit huge to us) second home in TN might serve her best. I seriously think they’ve known this poodle crap was coming for a while; the house in CA was purchased as a bribe to keep her quiet. Who knows, she might even have a poodle of her own to share it with once the dust settles.
July 8, 2010 at 1:34 am
Love the “poodle crap”. Stiff, pompous Al Gore is finding himself in some serious “doo-doo” of his own making.
July 7, 2010 at 12:23 pm
I agreed with her on the basic immorality of much of the music she was protesting, but have since read follow-ups suggesting that this was a political ploy intended to benefit her husband’s career, and conveniently dropped when it no longer appeared useful. I’m not sure if the idea that this was an expedient stance, not a principled one, is correct, but the articles sounded logical to me as the explanation was presented.
July 7, 2010 at 1:09 pm
As another commenter above mentioned, I too admire a woman who acts on her beliefs. But I also recall her activities in the early 90′s and even at that time I, as a Christian, was a little uncomfortable with her trying to impose her personnel sense of “what’s righteous” via efforts to smear legitimate business. (And I absolutely HATE rap music….) It has always bothered me that Christians and other religious seem to be so easily persuaded to “force what is right”, ignoring legal privileges held by others, seemingly never thinking that those same dynamics could be turned on them.
Shoot, I remember arguing about that in high school around 1960–when my church-raised friends wanted to act upset that Christian schools couldn’t get money from the government. I got tired of pointing out that once you accept the money, they can tell you what to do.
Anyway, back to Tipper….I have the same uncomfortable feeling with people driving smokers practically to insanity with opposition against them and their habits–when it’s a legal product. If it’s so terrible, then make it illegal and enforce and the law.
Sloppy thinking is a monster problem.
July 7, 2010 at 2:28 pm
I hope you weren’t thinking my thinking was sloppy. 8-O What I thought about the music as a Christian had nothing whatsoever to do with my beliefs about the legality of it. My point was that, all these years down the pike, much doubt has been cast (in print) on the claim that Tipper’s crusade was a principled stand, as opposed to a mere political expediency.
July 7, 2010 at 2:53 pm
Oh, goodness, Susan! Absolutely not!! I was intending to support your point and chime in with my take on the years when Tipper was campaigning. I apologize for my own sloppiness. I always appreciate your comments. mea culpa.
July 7, 2010 at 6:57 pm
What I remember of that squabble about obscene song lyrics was an attempt to put a “rating” on the album, a la PG or XX, as a way to warn parents about the kind of music kids were buying and listening to–
I don’t remember her trying to institute real censorship.
July 9, 2010 at 10:20 am
(…reading some early comments AFTER posting my own at #28)
Thank you, Thank you, FR! You are correct. She was NOT advocating government censorship, or any censorship at all! She was campaigning for the music industry to VOLUNTARILY put warning labels to help parents monitor their children’s listening habits, similar to movie ratings.
Knowing what everyone here knows about the tactics of Hollywood and the LSM, what they reported totally twisted what she was advocating because her message went against the Liberal meme and goal of capturing the minds of our children.
What we see going on today did NOT start in the recent couple of years. It has been going on for a long time, and this is a great example.
July 9, 2010 at 10:41 am
(…rereading comments after posting at #28)
Thank you, thank you FR! You are correct, that Tipper was not advocating government censorship, or any other kind of censorship. She was advocating the same kind of rating system for music albums that exists for movies.
The LSM/Hollywood crowd didn’t like her message, so they distorted it. Sound familiar? The left and their co-conspirators were up to their tricks back then too. I heard Tipper speak on this subject and I believe she was a sincere Christian mom trying to protect her kids and mine.
July 7, 2010 at 2:51 pm
One thing that tripped up Tipper (and Al) on this topic is that she was advocating government censorship, but when Wal-Mart chose not to carry rap music and insisted that recording artists offer “cleaned up” versions of their music in order to be distributed, neither she nor Al defended what amounted to a reasonable business decision that was based on Wal-Mart’s customer demographic. They sat by while other Democrats accused Wal-Mart of “censorship” and “imposing their morals on the rest of us.” Tipper’s rant about rap came near the end of the Reagan years, so it was her ploy to create the idea that Democrats had morals and worried about character issues too.
July 7, 2010 at 2:55 pm
Susan! My poorly presented comments are better expressed here by JF–that it seemed to me that Tipper’s goal actually bordered on censorship, which it seemed to me was a bit a slippery slope.
July 7, 2010 at 6:33 pm
Emma, I understood what you said. It’s o.k. Give yourself a break.
July 7, 2010 at 8:53 pm
Not to worry. It was more tongue-in-cheek than anything else. We have a common enemy. It’s NOT us! 8-)
July 7, 2010 at 12:27 pm
Not only would she be entitled to half of the assets acquired during the marriage, but spousal support as well because she and Algore have been married over 10 years.
July 7, 2010 at 12:59 pm
Yes, Tipper should take the money and run! Al just creeps me out now.
On another front, check out this latest despicable attack on Chelsea and her upcoming wedding:
http://www.politico.com/click/stories/1007/twyman_wants_clinton_gulf_prayer.html
We need to push back on Twyman’s “prayer” attack big time.
July 7, 2010 at 1:08 pm
WTF is this whackjob?
(Rhetorical question. I don’t want to know.)
July 7, 2010 at 2:54 pm
As nutty as this guy sounds, all he’s doing is advocating wealth redistribution. It’s ironic that he is attacking a Democrat’s wealth, however.
July 7, 2010 at 8:53 pm
I think he’s just trying to divert public anger about the oil spill away from BO onto the Clintons — only this time onto Chelsea. This misogynist and racist tactic is being deployed to help his Messiah escape criticism from AAs.
July 7, 2010 at 1:18 pm
I suspect the divorce is more about sheltering income than modifying their relationship/living arrangements. They clearly weren’t in love or cohabiting. They probably only see each other several times per year as it is, so getting divorced for the sake of protecting several hundred mil is a no-brainer for people like them. What a sad world.
July 7, 2010 at 1:21 pm
Personally I don’t care if any of the Gore family croaks, runs away, shits and goes blind, disappear off the face of the earth.
The earth will be better off if that happens, though.
You ‘boyz’ gotta quit reading ‘People’, it is basically worthless.
July 7, 2010 at 1:32 pm
Too bad it doesn’t come in a very soft paper which I could make good use of every day. ;)
July 7, 2010 at 1:30 pm
The most interesting part of this Hillbuzz blogpost is that Al Gore’s financials may come to light. I don’t know if it can be kept private or not. Also, who’s to say that G(wh)ore is not actively divesting of his more controversial holdings right now to keep them from ever coming to light?
July 7, 2010 at 5:08 pm
They will keep this as quiet as the Woods did.
July 7, 2010 at 2:30 pm
Tennessee also has 50/50 splitting of marital property – I believe if you have been married as little as five years. I doubt the Gore’s have enough gall to come back here anyway. Plus, we’re probably not their type of people anymore.
July 7, 2010 at 3:23 pm
She’s out in California now. All she has to do is establish residency and file and Algore bought that nice big house out there he qualifies as a resident cause he pays tax’s there. California has the worst divorce laws in the land for men. Should be fun.
July 9, 2010 at 12:47 am
I thought Utah did, actually. At least when my friend got divorced about 10/11 years ago, they were divorced in UT and she got the 50/50 split, plus child support, plus alimony, and he had to pay for her going back to school since she had quit to work for him in his medical office (where he promptly found a willing nurse who would sleep with him, leading to the break up of the marriage).
July 7, 2010 at 2:31 pm
I lost all respect for Mrs.Gore when she said the following at the Dem Nominating Convention:”Al went to Vietnam so another young man wouldn’t have to.”
Big lie there. He served for a few months as a desk reporter safely away from the war and then was sent home to go to Divinity School where he proceeded to flunk out,all according to plan.I guess at that point a real soldier got sent to take his place.Liars all.
July 7, 2010 at 5:11 pm
His daddy made him the only guy to go to war with private guards–a laughing stock–but maybe this is why he thinks he’s so special.
July 7, 2010 at 3:04 pm
With all of this crap hitting the fan for Gore, I’m happy to think he won’t be trying to run for President again. California is actually a very bequiling place, in spite of all it’s problems.
July 7, 2010 at 3:55 pm
“… the Gores’ divorce will be very interesting for a great number of reasons, not least of all will be any insight we get into ManBearPig’s actual assets, and the full scope of how much the Cult of Anthropogenic Global Warming is actually worth.”
Who will get the proceeds from the oil pumped from wells on Gore land in Tennessee … gifts to Albert Sr. from his longtime “pal” Armand “Mr. Occidental” Hammer? Seems rather hypocritical that a guy who asserts he’s so adamantly opposed to fossil fuels would allow oil rigs on his property, much less profit from their evil ozone-depleting bounty.
July 7, 2010 at 4:27 pm
Are you kidding me, he has oil wells on his property?!
Armand Hammer – another self-made tycoon communist (the contradictions – ugh!). They have all hanging out for generations, haven’t they?
July 8, 2010 at 1:09 am
Communists are the ultimate capitalists. They play for all the marbles and no holds are barred.
July 8, 2010 at 7:34 am
Not to mention that he and his family raised tobacco and then he used the tobacco industry as his whipping boy when campaigning for the presidency.

I actually voted for that turd. Now I’m glad George Bush won. My how things change.
July 7, 2010 at 10:29 pm
My oh my. I JUST said that very same thing to someone in my office today. How things change. I remember how brokenhearted I was when Gore lost. 10 years later and I realize Bush was the better man.
July 7, 2010 at 6:42 pm
(Oh how great it is to sit back for a few minutes and catch up with HB…I have found a second, regular, parttime job, so I haven’t had my usual ‘Buzz’ fix. I know, I know…need to learn to budget time…we have our Country to save and look forward to the Boyz and fellow Buzzerz ‘take’ on the issues of the day!!!)
But…imagine my chagrin this a.m. when I heard that, in the finest British tradition (think Teletubbies), the gentlemen and women of East Anglia will get a big OOOPSIE DAISY for those NAUGHTY number manipulations about Globull warming.
Here is the story:
http://green.yahoo.com/news/nm/20100707/wr_nm/us_climate_britain_emails.html
No discipline; no loss of tenure; no admittance of fraud…just rainbows, and happy (warm, HA!) thoughts.
Don’t forget though, across the Big Pond, here in PA, we STILL have Dr. Michael ‘Hockey Stick’ Mann sucking at the public teet at Penn State University. A new, Republican Governator here…and possibly, just possibly some action can be taken against Mann.
July 8, 2010 at 12:01 pm
This is why I don’t give to Penn State (my alma mater) anymore.

It might explain the 5.4 magnitude earthquake we had in San Diego today:

July 7, 2010 at 7:33 pm
I swear. You might be onto something. I just found out about Tipper’s move to SoCal, and damned if we just didn’t have another bump (5.9, centered in Palm Springs). Yikes!!
July 7, 2010 at 7:29 pm
Connecticut . . . glamorous????
July 7, 2010 at 8:25 pm
Long marriage. His recent misstep (and heaven knows what else happened before that). She will get a HUGE settlement and unbelievable alimony.
Their new mansion in Montecito will be the perfect place for her to start fresh. Tennessee is about the Gores. Pfffffft. She won’t be the first person – male or female – to reinvent themself there.
July 7, 2010 at 10:13 pm
I think the divorce is part of their plan to shield assets.More is coming
regarding the poodle’s activities….
July 8, 2010 at 7:59 am
Just wondering how much the media will let us know about the divorce. Since the LSM are AGW acolytes my guess is that a lot will go unreported. The Enquirer will come through. But then again, I haven’t looked for my news on the LSM for years. I do listen for the weather report sometimes – but I can get that pretty quickly on the net.
July 8, 2010 at 8:15 am
Good points about CA divorce laws. My ex-husband was a resident of the state when we divorced. It’s basically a no-fault state and the person who files first calls the shots. It’s great for people who are in a hurry to divorce, because the respondent has no voice, essentially. It’s difficult to counter-sue in the state, as well. But from the standpoint of collecting alimony and half of future assets, this is a good choice.
Hopefully, for all our sakes, Al won’t be making billions off carbon credits because there’s no relationship to that sham of a business and anything to do with saving the planet. Just listen to any lecture by Prof. Joel Rogers/U. WI/ if you’re not sure that’s true…
July 8, 2010 at 9:09 am
Knowing she is thousands of miles away from that blow-hole must give her relief, too.
July 8, 2010 at 9:47 am
Tennessee is a pretty conservative state. Yeah, we have Memphis which is its own planet. But the majority of the state is conservative. There is no love here for the Gore family. It would make perfect sense for them to go to California. Isn’t that where all people go when they lose touch with reality? The rich “famous” people anyway. Frankly, I’m glad. Let them leave TN and good riddance!
July 8, 2010 at 3:45 pm
Amen to Memphis being it’s own planet, but there is hope even here.
July 8, 2010 at 10:05 am
I’m truly biased concerning Al Gore. In the early 90s when my ex-husband was laid off because Al Gore hijacked the Landsat project from NASA for his “global warming” ponzi scam we had no idea what his ambitions were. Now we do. It forever changed my view of politicians and convinced me how corrupt the government is. This president is expanding the corruption and ruining our country. Al Gore is the poster boy for corruption. He is a self-made billionaire who has lied to us all and the Democrats are riding his coat tails trying to rip us off to get rich. It is the biggest scam in our history. I am counting the days and hoping with all my might that we can reverse this course before it destroys our country.
July 8, 2010 at 10:19 am
We native Californians who still live there quite happily – though not quite as happily as in the past – abhor sweeping generalizations about California.
July 8, 2010 at 10:51 am
I apologize. I tried to single out a certain population…and did a sloppy job of it. I’m referring to the Hollywood, billionaire’s club. In my mind that industry along with the rich entertainers and DNC have linked together to form this culture that just is destructive in my view. When you watch all these shows on Discovery lieing to the American people about global warming and know that 99% of it is GARBAGE it is just sickening.
So I do apologize. I am not referring to normal American people…I am talking about the rich, entertainment industry type folks who think they know what’s best for the country and to hell with the rest of us.
July 8, 2010 at 12:18 pm
No worries Bev.’
I get where you are coming from, and your comment’s don’t bother me so much as it is fact’ that California has been sent to liberal hell, and the Hollywood elites and the San Francisco freak’s sure have put this state in despair!
Like I always say– if San Francisco and LA broke off and floated away– we could bring the ole Cali back’ because most here feel the same way about those parasite’s..”
not to mention the TEACHER’S UNION’S, and the sanitary cities– ergggggg,,,! What a damn cesspool we’ve become.
If Tipper wants to take down “ASS-hole hubby” this is the state to do-it,,, and I hope to hell she does…!
July 8, 2010 at 12:32 pm
Derrr’ “SANCTUARY” cities… ergggg again”
July 8, 2010 at 2:15 pm
LOL..
Where the money is…you will find the leeches. Just like flies on garbage. We just have to have faith that good always wins over evil in the karma of things.

Does anyone know how to find out the name of Nancy Pelosi’s vineyard, or which wineries use its grapes? I want to make sure I don’t accidentally buy any wine that would enrich her even by one cent.
July 8, 2010 at 10:38 am
Have you guys seen this? Mama Grizzlies!!
July 8, 2010 at 11:58 am
Very nice strong ad, I like it.
July 8, 2010 at 2:07 pm
Is everyone here aware of Ten Buck Fridays? It is a poll that is put up every Sunday. We ask that people give ten dollars or whatever they can afford to each candidate. The candidates are fiscal conservatives that will be standing up to the Obama/Reid/Pelosi agenda of spending this country into oblivillion. If you want to nominate a local candidate that isn’t getting a great deal of attention and needs some exposure and some money please let any of the bloggers who are involved know.
Last weekend almost $900 was raised for a really good candidate in New Jersey, she is cut from the Chris Christie Cloth and she is a Immigration Attorney; since that is going to be a big issue in the next congress, she will be an asset.
July 9, 2010 at 9:43 am
“… thought she was something of a loon since her early 1990s crusade against rap music and its attempts to censor lyrics and destroy the careers of performers she did not approve of.”
I encourage you to reevaluate your opinion of Tipper in light of your appreciation of Sarah Palin and other conservative and Christian women. The LSM did a hatchet job on Tipper and distored her opinions just as they distort Sarah’s on a regular basis.
Yes, Tipper was frustrated with the vulgarity of the music lyrics. Raising children myself at the time, I was too. There was no way I wanted my impressionable elementary school-aged kid polluting his mind with that crap, yet I couldn’t keep up with all the groups and albums to know which were “safe” and which were not. Tipper’s campaign (in spite of the vilification)gave us warning labels that helped this “Mama Grizzly” protect her kid from this verbal trash.
Even as a Republican, I liked Tipper Gore, and I dare say that other Mama Grizzlies of today would welcome the Tipper of the 1990′s as a fellow crusader, willing to face the venom of the LSM/Hollywood cliques to protect her and my children!
Of course, after she really p*ssed them off, she got thrown in a closet and told to shut up so that her whistledick of a husband could court their good favor and get back into the good graces of the media/Hollywood/DC leftists for his own purposes.
