Question: Why won't the most "transparent and open", unicorn-stuffed administration in history answer questions about the bribe offered to Joe Sestak to drop out of the Pennsylvania Democrat primary?
Chime in with your theories on what’s going on here, but Robert Gibbs sweats profusely whenever the media asks a question about the bribe the White House offered Joe Sestak to drop out of the Pennsylvania primary so that Arlen Specter could have won the Democrat nomination.
Gibbs flat out refuses to answer these questions. If Saturday Night Live really did its job, they’d lampoon this by having Gibbs start reading favorite family recipes instead of talking about what he was asked. ”Why did the White House offer Sestak that bribe?”. ”Uh, here’s Aunt Sally’s pound cake recipe. First, you need some butter, then…”
It really is that bad.
Our gut feeling is this business has legs, if Republicans can find a way to make the general public aware of it.
We think Rahm Emanuel is behind the bribe. It’s the sort of thing Emanuel does, when he’s not screaming nude at someone in a gang shower, or doodling “Rahm Beiber” in his notebooks in the bulbous empty space inside large, swooping hearts.
This is the sort of job-offer-for-quitting-something that happens every day here in Chicago. Chicago went to Washington January 20th, 2009 to make things extra hopeychangey, so if pressure is really put as to who dreamed up and offered this bribe — which appears to be a federal crime — it could very well land Emanuel in an orange jumpsuit.
While, knowing him, he’d love the accommodations and adventures that come with it, that color’s still a bitch to accessorize.
Even for someone as talented as the current White House Chief of Staff.
