Who is Edward Davis, and why doesn't he get parking tickets in Chicago?

Posted at May 31, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Can you get confirmation on the owner of this car?

We need some sleuthing help here.  The more people who can do this, the more cover it gives all of us in going up against the Daley Machine and corrupt Democrats here in Chicago.

Tomorrow, when the Secretary of State’s office opens here in Chicago, if it is at all possible, please go down there and ask how to identify the owner of IL-plate X55 0474, a silver 2002 BMW. This is the “unticketable car” in our “Mystery of the Unticketable Car”.

We got a tip the owner’s name is Edward Davis, but we need this confirmed, and we don’t know if we’ll be able to make it to the Loop and talk to the Secretary of State’s office ourselves.  If you work in Chicago, and you get a lunch break, maybe you could do some sleuthing and email the results to us at HillBuzz@gmail.com.

If the owner of this car really IS Edward Davis, then which Edward Davis is it?  Doing a quick Google search, there are several potential EDs out there.  One of them is a Daley appointee to a planning committee.  Another’s a caterer.  It sure doesn’t make any sense a caterer wouldn’t be getting tickets when parked in that yellow zone.

So, once we’ve solidly ID-ed the car’s owner, we can then work on the mystery of why this person’s being protected from getting tickets.

Then, it’s a matter of figuring out who else is getting this kind of protection.

And what system is in place within Chicago city government to carry out this protection.

This could actually be much, much bigger than one silver Beemer consistently parked illegally in Boystown.

Or, it could end up being this was the luckiest guy in the whole wide world until we happened to notice what he was getting away with for so long.

Either way, we need your help to solve the mystery once and for all.

More on the Giannoulias-Kirk race in Illinois

Posted at May 31, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Here’s an interesting read in the Sun-Times today.

In it, the loathsome Jan Schakowsky is depicted as careening around Washington in her car, like Cruella de Vil, haranguing a reporter for daring, in Chicago, to talk about what a vile candidate Alexi Giannoulias is for the Senate.  Schakowsky also doesn’t like people talking about the fact that against anyone else, Giannoulias would surely lose this race — Mark Kirk is a fatally flawed candidate that gives Schakowsky hope that “The G”, as he calls himself, can still turn things around and win this race by raising and dumping large sums of money into TV ad buys this summer.

Here’s what we think is really, really interesting in the article:  look for the part where Schakowsky brings up gay marriage.

We’ve been wondering why “The G” has been doing so many Equality Illinois events in Chicago lately…the more bad press that was in the news about Broadway Bank (the mob bank, which the Giannoulias Family ran), the more Alexi would find a reason to stand on stage with Equality Illinois head honchos like Art Johnson and others.  To us, it’s clear Giannoulias is using these people, for these photo ops, which is a shame because in many ways Johnson especially is to Boystown what Harvey Milk was to the Castro.  He’s worked hard for LGBTQ causes his whole life, so to see Giannoulias use him so shamelessly is just a hard sight to take in.

But, we wonder, what’s Giannoulias really up to?  He’s never shown a passion for LGBTQ causes before.  Democrats have a lock on the LGBTQ vote, so there’s really no reason to even campaign on this issue.  He’s not doing these events as fundraisers…so why is he doing them?

It sure feels like it fits into the theory we had back in 2009 that Giannoulias’ plan all along for winning the Senate seat was to take Mark Kirk down as a hypocrite for not supporting spousal equality and the repeal of DADT when Kirk himself is gay.

Giannolias is a lot of things, but stupid he’s not.  He knows full well he’s a rotten candidate.  His family was the mob’s bankers.  He’s deeply connected to all the political crooks this state has to offer.  The only way he wins is by taking down Kirk as a liar and hypocrite and ending his campaign with a big scandal…in much the way Obama took down Jack Ryan back in 2004.

We told you this was going to happen months ago, long before the GOP in Illinois insisted on making Mark “it’s his turn” Kirk the nominee.  Illinois Review, a little-read fanfiction site run by Fran Eaton, attacked us for warning Republicans about what Giannoulias would do to Kirk.  It’s all going down the way we told you it would because at various Democrat events we went to in 2009, this exact plan was spelled out for us.

1. Giannoulias will be the nominee

2. Giannoulias can never overcome being the mob’s banker

3. Democrats will do everything possible to make Mark Kirk the Republican nominee because he is fatally flawed

4. The media will give Kirk a “McCain treatment”, where they oooo and aaaaah over him, call him “a maverick”, and pump him up…so they can tear him down when they need to

5. Kirk will be forced to go against something the LGBTQ community wants because he is running as a Republican, so he will have to side against spousal equality and the DADT repeal

6. The above will break the pact Kirk-the media-LGBTQ activists have, whereby Kirk does not side against the LGBTQ community and instead does whatever it wants because he is being blackmailed

7. Kirk will be outed in a spectacular way

8. Republicans will abandon Kirk not because he is gay, oddly enough, but because he is a liar and a hypocrite

We told you this was coming, and apparently in the next few days Mike Rogers, from the documentary OUTRAGE, is going to out Kirk.

Do not think for a moment that Rogers is going rogue in doing this.  He very much has the approval of the DNC and the LGBTQ community at large.  In our opinion, being the one to out Kirk is Rogers’ prize for putting together the excellent OUTRAGE documentary, which centered mostly on how ridiculous Governor Charlie Crist’s heterosexual kabuki is.

If Rogers is moving on this, it’s because the Giannoulias campaign decided now is when they wanted to pull the switch.

Rogers primed the pump last week, saying he would reveal what he knows after Memorial Day…so it’s been that tantalizing morsel all weekend.  Most likely, it was to also see what Kirk himself would do, and what Republicans in Illinois would start to do as well (ie, will they start to dump Kirk like they did Ryan, and call in Alan Keyes again).

Because Giannoulias wants as big of a punch as possible from this, revealing it during Memorial Day Weekend would be ridiculous, as most people are more concerned with picnics and out of town travel and fun through tomorrow.

But, Tuesday or Wednesday of this week would be a great time for something like this to drop against Kirk…since people who avoided the news during the long holiday will try to catchup with gusto…and then, BAM, here’s this takedown of Kirk.

Just as we said it would happen.

But, instead of preparing for this inevitability and getting Kirk to drop out of the primary so a winnable candidate could have had the nomination, the GOP in Illinois and Fran Eaton at Illinois Review deliberately sunk their heads into the sand and pretended this was not true about Kirk.

We’ve been at events with Eaton, waiting in foyers for doors to open, and have actually talked to her about Kirk.  SHE’S ONE OF THE PEOPLE WHO TOLD US HE’S GAY.

We’ve heard this consistently since we all moved to Chicago between 2004-2005, but people like Eaton affirmed this from the GOP side between 2008-2010, as we started working with Republicans because of the McCain campaign.  Everything we had ever heard about Kirk in Boystown was confirmed by Republicans who came into our lives in the 2008 election and beyond.

So, Eaton and Illinois Review have a lot of explaining to do when Rogers makes whatever announcement he makes.

Readers of Illinois Review should know they are being lied to by Fran Eaton, because if she claims she’s “Shocked, shocked, shocked!” by whatever Rogers says, we still have our pocket notes from the Michael Steele dinner at the Union League Club…and we still remember exactly what Fran Eaton was wearing that day…when she stood in the foyer with us and talked an awful lot about Mark Kirk…before she schizophrenically changed her tune and decided to attack us for speaking out on something everyone else was talking about anyway.

And that would be the simple fact that Kirk’s candidacy was doomed from Day One not because he is gay, but because he is a liar and a hypocrite who has been blackmailed by the LGBTQ community for years…which explains his voting record, and the odd votes he cast against his constituents’ wishes whenever his blackmailers pulled his strings. It was unavoidable that in the Senate race, however, in trying to keep the downstate vote, that Kirk would have to either choose alienating conservatives or upsetting his blackmailers.  He chose the latter, and the end result will be whatever Mike Rogers sets into motion against him.

This is why Aaron Schock and other gay Republicans in office just need to come out already.

Seize what’s going to happen to Kirk as the opportunity for you ALL to come out, all at once.  Every last one of you.

If you can, get some conservative gay celebrities to come out too…which would be a double whammy, because they’d be coming out as CONSERVATIVES as well as being gay.

That’s our best advice for mitigating what’s to come for Kirk — the only way he can ride this storm out is if Aaron Schock steps up to the plate and helps diffuse the issue.  There’s a third gay Republican male member of the Illinois Congressional delegation that could come out as well.  The more people who do this, all on the same day, the less focus will be on Kirk and his lies and hypocrisy.

As for us, Illinois Review created a very personal stake in this that we can’t ignore.  Fran Eaton broke a personal and professional confidence by not only outing one of our personal names on this site — which was deliberately anonymous because we did not want to be attacked by the Left in our personal lives — but she used the fact that we were Facebook friends, on a personal level, not professional, to steal pictures from our personal Facebook accounts to use in her pieces on Illinois Review.  She knew why we wrote anonymously until she outed us, because we’d had the conversation with her.  But, she chose to use the fact that we spoke out on what was going to happen to Kirk’s campaign as an excuse to maliciously reveal one of our names to the public…so that the Left could do whatever the Left was going to do to destroy us.

There should be consequences for Fran Eaton and Illinois Review when Mike Rogers outs Kirk and the whole Giannoulias plan unfolds the way we told you it would.

We have no idea if Eaton can legally be held liable for all the damages the Left has caused us because of her outing, but we’d love to pursue that.  All we’ve been waiting for is Giannoulias to kick the plan into gear to prove us right.

So, if you read Illinois Review, all 12 of you, you might want to ask Eaton what she has to say about Mike Rogers and what she knew, and when she knew it, about Mark Kirk.

Memorial Day Open Thread

Posted at May 31, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

We’re going to be busy today doing some volunteer work for people who need a little help around their homes — it’s how we are choosing to spend Memorial Day.  None of us were ever able to wear the uniform and serve our country in the military, but we have utmost respect for all those who have done so, and are currently doing so.  We’re wearing red, white, and blue today, and are keeping in mind all those who can’t be here today because they lost their lives serving our country.

So, we’re not going to waste a minute of the day today, realizing what a gift it is, and appreciating how precious said gift is because of the high cost paid by all those braves lives taken in defense of our freedom and liberty.

Whatever you do today, make it special.  Do it loud and proud and relish it, because every day has been given to you by those who were brave enough to stand up to the villains of their time and assure there was an America here today for you to be able to do it.

H/t Chrissy the Hyphenated

Update on the “Mystery of the Unticketable Car”. Looks like we’ve got a name and an address for the owner, but the address is north of Boystown so it makes no sense that this car is parking at Newport & Halsted.  Now we need to figure out WHY a man named Edward Davis is allowed to park in yellow curb zones without getting tickets in Chicago.  Figuring out who he is and why he is such a VIP will lead us to the answer of whether a “DO NOT TICKET” list really does exist in Chicago.

41 Days Later, Obama Still Hasn't Solved the Gulf Oil Spill Problem (but finds time to go on vacation…again)

Posted at May 30, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Can someone please explain to us — because we really and truly do want to know — why Obama has not solved the Gulf Oil Spill Problem yet?

In 2008, the Media and DNC told America to push Hillary Clinton to the side, because her experience and proven competence didn’t matter, because Obama was “unique” and “special” and “could do anything”.  He was “The Lightbringer”, “The One”, and he was sold as a bill of goods that could magically solve all of our problems.

In the general election, the Media and the DNC told America to push John McCain to the side, because his experience and years of service to this country didn’t matter, because Obama was “unique” and “special” and would usher in a Golden Age of Hope and Change.

Well, when does that start, exactly?

Is the photo above Hope, or is it Change?

Sure looks like a bird covered in oil that should be chirping a happy song somewhere, perched on the horn of a unicorn, according to what the Media and DNC promised of the Obama presidency.

Epic.

Fail.

Mike Rogers from the movie Outrage and Mark Kirk

Posted at May 30, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Read this.

After Memorial Day, Mike Rogers from the movie Outrage (a film about closeted gay Republicans like Charlie Crist and Larry Craig) has promised to out Mark Kirk, using Kirk’s betrayal of DADT to expose his hypocrisy.

This is what we told you months and months ago would happen…and this is what we kept warning Republicans the media would do to save Alexi Giannoulias once Giannoulias started to tank as a Senate candidate because of Broadway Bank.

If Rogers goes ahead and does this, and Kirk is outed, the way we said this would go down, then certain people at Illinois Review and the GOP in Illinois have an awful lot of explaining to do — since they attacked us with full force, on a personal level, after we warned Republicans this would happen to Kirk.

We WARNED them of this because we did not want to see Giannoulias win that Senate seat.  We tried to HELP the GOP, and instead Fran Eaton at Illinois Review decided to publish one of our names in a piece she wrote. Prior to Eaton’s article, we were all 100% anonymous on this site, but Eaton did that to punish us for talking about the open-secret of Kirk (we know Eaton from political events in Chicago, as she’s known to never miss anything that has a buffet or so much as a passed cheese tray attached to it…she’d attend the opening of an envelop if there was at the very least a Snickers promised).  All of the attacks that have come from the Left in 2010, and all of the damage that has been done on a personal level to one of us, was because of Fran Eaton at Illinois Review…ostensibly working on behalf of Mark Kirk, to hit us back for speaking the truth about him.

So, if Rogers does what he says he’s going to do…and Kirk’s outed the way we warned you he would be…then we’d like to see Illinois Review and Fran Eaton herself answer questions about why they did what they did, to people who only tried to do all that they could to stop the GOP from running a fatally flawed candidate who was destined to lose a winnable seat.

We saw all of this coming last year, and told you all as much.

It’s going down just as we told you it would, Fran.

QUESTION: How can you personally change the way business as usual is done in government?

Posted at May 30, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

We don’t have a lot of time today, as we’re caught up trying to solve another mystery, this one “The Case of the Unticketable Car”, and we’ve got some people lined up to interview and meet with about what could be a much bigger story than just one BMW being on a “No Ticket List”.

But, in the last few days, we’ve now encountered two separate oddities here in Chicago that we realize could change the way government conducts itself.  There’s the fact that ordinary citizens can report on something like the “Do Not Ticket List”, and apparently expose those behind it, where the Chicago Tribune and other “real reporters” never bothered to bring any of this to light.  Then, there’s the union waste we spotted the other day on the Belmont Red Line stop, where we saw one man sweeping while four union “supervisors” and “safety inspectors” watched him work — while all of them collected full pay, at a time when the Chicago Transit Authority claims it is broke and has no money to properly continue services.  YET, it has enough fund for the union to send five lazy guys to a train stations to watch one of them do a half-baked job sweeping an already clean platform?

We believe, as citizens, we’re experiencing a personal evolution…it’s become clear to us that we need to carry video equipment with us at all times and start recording every instance of waste and corruption we can spot in Chicago.  We’re going to meet with someone who can teach us how to make and post YouTube videos right here on our site, and build that capability into a new site when we can get that online too.  We certainly can’t spend all of our days chasing after stories like this, but when they fall in our laps we’re going to make noise about them — when, in the past, we would have noticed it, complained about it to ourselves, then never taken it any further.

Well, we’re committed to taking things further from now on.  We’ve reached a point where this site, as a hobby, has more or less become what we do…and we don’t intend to go anywhere.

If we root out the stories and make our videos or catch things on film, we need your help to do the research that will go into the essays we write about these things.  Every mystery or oddity we encounter can be a little project, pooling all of our resources.  Five guys in Boystown can’t change the world, but combine us with all of you out there, and we might just change the way business is done in our government.

If we’re effective, we hope we become a model for others out there at other political sites…because just imagine if every politically motivated person out there started DOING SOMETHING about the problems in their cities, instead of just reading about all of this garbage, sighing, telling family members about it at the dinner table, then feeling hopeless that no one is paying any attention.

Do you realize you could be playing a major part in getting them to pay attention?

You can take that step from being an observer into becoming an activist.

That’s NOT the dirty word we always saw it as…it’s, in fact, a synonym for “patriot”.

All of this takes an awful lot of work, but we think America is worth it.

The Tea Party Movement proves there are many of you out there who think the same thing.

We do not need to wait for a rally or a protest to send a message to those in government…we can all do that every single day, by calling them out on their waste and busting their corruption wherever we find it.

There are many mysteries to solve.

How can you help us?

Sunday Open Thread: May 30th, 2010

Posted at May 30, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

What’s on your minds this Sunday?

What are people talking about in your part of the country?

What are you doing tomorrow to honor those in uniform on Memorial Day?

*******************************************************

Can you help us solve a mystery?

It’s the “Case of the Unticketable Car”, and we ran a post on this yesterday we want you to read if you didn’t catch it.

What we need now are the names, phone numbers, email, and mailing addresses for everyone you can think of who needs to know about a “Do Not Ticket” list that’s apparently out there in the City of Chicago.  As the comments in the Second City Cop thread indicate, this appears to be much bigger than just this one BMW in a yellow curb zone in Boystown.

If there really is a list of cars that the Parking Meter people aren’t allowed to ticket, because they are VIPs of some kind, then the public needs to be made aware of this so that everyone and their mothers can apply to be on this “Do Not Ticket” list too.  Those of you in other states should apply as well, just in case you ever drive to Chicago, so that you won’t get any tickets and will be free to park anywhere you like as well.

How do we get the light shined on this “Do Not Ticket” list?

Ideas?
