David "Popcorn" Kernell Trial Watch: Day Four
What’s the latest you are hearing about David “Popcorn” Kernell’s trial in Knoxville, Tennessee?
This is the Obama operative, and son of disgraced Tennessee Rep Mike “Terrible Father” Kernell, on trial for cyber crimes, identity theft, wire fraud, and hindering an FBI investigation in his attack on Governor Sarah Palin and her family in October of 2008.
He faces 50 years in prison, and we hope he gets every one of them.
What’s the update on the case today — any word on what will happen next week?
Boystown Comes to Riverdale: Archie Comics introduces first gay character
We haven’t picked up a comic book in years — save for the Female Force issues for Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin awhile back — but will have to start dropping in on the gang in Riverdale once in a while, now that they’re introducing their first gay character (a blond guy who looks surprisingly like our friend Robby…so, we’re totally taking that as a shoutout).
It’s hilarious, because Veronica, in the storyline, chases after the new guy, Kevin, and has no idea why he doesn’t like her “like that”, but is surprisingly good at helping her pick out a dress and can quote Buffy the Vampire Slayer with the best of them. It’s shades of Clueless with Alicia Silverstone, and also the biography of Robby’s sister, Ann-Louise, and just about every man she’s ever chased after (including Matthew McCounnauHEY,GIRL!).
When all of us were growing up, having a gay guy in Riverdale would have helped us a lot, we think. As it was, the only time we ever saw gay teens talked about was on Donahue — and, seriously, thank goodness for him. If he didn’t already deserve some kind of medal for putting up with Marlo Thomas all these years, he should get something for letting a lot of guys know they weren’t so different after all, no matter what people in Cleveland or San Antonio or Pittsburgh told them.
We’re sure the loons on the far right will attack this move by Archie Comics, and claim it’s promoting a lifestyle choice or whatever, but we’re here to tell you something different is going on. Little things like this character are part of a much more important “don’t kill yourself, life is worth living, just get through high school” effort we think everyone should join in on.
Because, being gay in Cleveland in the 1980s, with parents who wanted to beat the gay out of you, emotionally, psychologically, and physically, is no fun. When the only things you have to cling to are the rare episodes of Donahue where the studio audience’s ignorance was smacked down by “is the caller there?” Phil (and, by proxy, so was some of the grief you got in your own home when your parents came home…but just never let them catch you watching something on gay teens, or you’d be on the receiving end of trademarked Midwestern homophobia right quick), we just can’t tell you how big of a deal it would be to have a gay kid join the gang in Riverdale. Something so all-American and normal, and there you were too, invited along on the adventures.
We often think how different our lives would have been if we could have just been ourselves in grade school and high school, instead of playing developmental catchup in college, when we finally figured things out and took the leap to be real, be honest, be us.
In case the far right hasn’t figured it out, no matter how nasty you are to your sons who are gay, you are not going to berate the gay out of them. You can indeed repress them, force them into shells, and royally mess with their heads. In the end, more likely than not, you will only succeed in making them hate you. Because, they are still going to like guys…you can delay their maturation and development, and cripple them emotionally so they will never have solid, healthy long term relationships, but you won’t ever stop the hookups and the misadventures and shenanigans. At most, you’ll just guarantee they are alone for the majority of their lives, except the brief periods of serial dating and throwaway encounters that mean nothing in the end.
Why anyone would want to do that to their sons is just beyond us.
Especially those that call themselves “religious”, because clearly they have never picked up a Bible if they don’t understand the concept of unconditional love.
They’ve also never picked up a magazine or newspaper, either, or they’d know that guys who grow up without familial support, or who are cast out of their families when they figure out they are gay, are much more likely to get HIV, because they are also much more likely to engage in the kinds of risky behavior with multiple partners that increases the chance of infection.
Push your son away, berate him, or try to stifle that gay in him, and set him on a path without self-esteem, self-worth, or the ability to make good decisions about who he chooses to be with, since you’ve made him so desperate to be loved by anyone that he’ll take whatever comes his way…leading to his own destruction.
We’ve seen this here in Boystown more times than we could ever count.
No matter how any of us were raised, or how our parents reacted to the realization they had gay sons, we all ended up here. Some of us, like Robby and Panda, were damn lucky to have PFLAG moms and dads who marched in parades and treated us no differently than our straight siblings. Others of us had parents who may still, to this day, ignore reality and want no part of our lives. It just shouldn’t be that way, people.
For anyone.
And it’s nice to see it’s not going to be that way in Riverdale. For some young guy out there just figuring out who he is, this is as important as Phil Donahue taking the time to tackle gay teen issues back in our day. So, hooray for the Archies today.
Question: Can you translate Lame Cherry into English, and decipher the secret in this post?
When we were in grade school, Robert Stack used to have that “Unsolved Mysteries” show, where he would wear a trench coat and hang out by a fog-covered lake in the middle of the night, and give people the creeps. Then, the next day, he’d film an episode of his show, and talk about things like Nostradamus and his mysterious quatraines. Ooky-spooky!
Frankly, we never bought into the Nostradamus stuff, and could make his ramblings “predict” just about anything we put our minds to, the same way we can read the horoscope for any sign and apply it accurately to our own lives, whether it’s Cancer, Gemini, or Leo, or DiCaprio, or whatever.
But, we remember Robert Stack telling the audience that the reason Nostradamus wrote so cryptically was because he was afraid of being persecuted for his writings — so he deliberately hid his secrets in gibberish. It’s the same mission statement Michelle Obama uses when getting dressed in the morning: somewhere inside a cocoon of oversized Klingon war belts, embarrassingly tight sweaters, bad makeup, wigs that fool nobody, and mismatched shoes, there’s an attractive woman desperate to stay hidden — for reasons known only to herself, and the small children who style her wardrobe.
Lame Cherry probably writes the way he or she does — in cryptic, hard-to-understand riddles and opaque prose — because he or she most likely wants to hide his or her real voice in whatever he or she posts.
People are surprisingly adept at figuring out who a writer is by listening to him or her, and remembering the “voice” of what they write. There have been an interesting number of times when we’ve either been out in Boystown, or have spoken at some event around Chicago, and people listening came up and asked. “Are you HillBuzz guys?”, clandestinely whispering so they could keep our secret. It’s amazing to us that people can pick up turns of phrase and connect them from the page to the spoken word like that, but they can. Remarkably well, too.
So, when reading Lame Cherry, we get the feeling what’s said there is written so awkwardly because the person writing it deliberately wants to throw people off their trail. The same is true, to a large extent, over at Hillaryis44.com too. Either this, or the people writing are English as second or third language speakers, and the disjointed text is because it makes more sense in Portuguese or something.
But, supposedly there’s a big secret in this latest Lame Cherry post, but we just can’t decipher it. We’ll have to read it more carefully when we have time.
But, maybe you could translate what’s being said for us, and break apart the post to get to the meat of the secret?

Note on more WordPress problems: We were locked out of the WordPress system again this morning, and only regained access at 12:27pm CST. It’s yet another instance where, mysteriously, WordPress servers are down or there’s some other computer problem. It’s tempting to wonder if there’s something out there today that the Left doesn’t want talked about. Just like during the 2008 elections, it was funny how sites critical of Dr. Utopia would just mysteriously vanish, while pro-Obama sites never seemed to suffer those attacks. Very interesting. Like something out of Alinsky’s playbook.
At any rate, the goal is to have HB moved over to our own server, on a site WordPress cannot impact like this, before the end of summer. It’s a lot of work, and it’s a nightmare to find time in the day to sit down and prep a new site, but it’s just so suspicious when these lockouts happen. They always correspond with an uptick in troll comments and hatemail, too, which makes it all even more interesting. There are no coincidences in The Golden Age of Hope and Change.
For the record, if we were ever taken down completely and we couldn’t get back up and running, we’d have a plan for getting the word out on what’s happened, which would look something like this:
* We’d start a new site, immediately, and would write to Conservatives4Palin, Pumapac.org, A Conservative Lesbian, Legal Insurrection, Michelle Malkin, Tammy Bruce, and other sites we like, and know many of you go to, so they could report what happened to us and get our new URL out to you.
* We’d email everyone who’s ever written to us to let them know what happened.
* We’d be back up and running within 24 hours, if it cost us every cent we have to do it.
We mention this because this morning, for a few hours, we really thought we had to function in Doomsday mode. We anticipate every nasty thing the Left can ever possibly do, and intend to fight them back at every turn. And then, after we’re back up and running, we’d seek every possible angle to prosecute whomever was responsible to the fullest extent of the law. And — using the Left’s own logic — because we’re gay that would make the attacks a hate crime, just as it would be a racist attack if we were black.
Use the Left’s own playbook against them, always. It’s rule number eleventy on Alinsky’s list.
Continued Calls for Corruption-Buster Ann Claire Williams to Take Her Place on the SCOTUS
Here’s a great read in the Chicago Tribune today, about Ann Claire Williams and the dynamo for Justice she’d be on the bench of the Supreme Court of the United States.
We’ve met her.
We have friends who know her very well.
To encounter her is to find yourself in the presence of quiet, humble greatness — a woman of immense intellect with a common, everyday touch. Someone who is kind and sweet, quiet, but who musters the roar of a hurricane from the bench when the need arises.
Oh, she stuck it to the Daley Machine but good, upholding corruption convictions.
She was sent to the bench by President Reagan and elevated to a higher court by President Clinton — because whether you are a Republican or a Democrat, if you want Justice served with a side order of fairness and respect for the Constitution, Ann Claire Williams is who you want on that bench.
Here’s just part of why we like this woman so much (pay attention to that last line):
Before she became a lawyer, Williams was a music and third-grade teacher in the inner-city public schools of Detroit. She has an undergraduate degree in elementary education from Wayne State University and a master’s in guidance and counseling from the University of Michigan.
Williams attended law school at the University of Notre Dame, where she graduated in 1975. Her entire legal career has been spent in the confines of the Dirksen Federal Courthouse in Chicago, including a nine-year stint in the U.S. attorney’s office, where she served as the Midwest chief of a nationwide narcotics task force.
Williams has described herself as a political independent. At her confirmation hearing for the appellate post in late 1999, Williams stressed that she did not consider herself a judicial activist. “We don’t legislate in the courts,” she told lawmakers.
Judges should not legislate. Ever.
The Supreme Court should not legislate from the bench.
A certain “wise Latina” might not understand that, so here’s hoping the second SCOTUS appointment in this presidency is a woman like Ann Claire Williams, who has read the Constitution, and who knows its her duty to protect the separation of governmental powers.
There is no better pick for the court than this remarkable woman. We wish there was more we could do for her nomination than just sing her praises, but here’s hoping many of you take a look at her background and performance on the bench and come to the conclusion that this is the nomination we should all be rooting for.
Question: Are Democrats blackmailing Lindsey Graham into supporting the destruction of our economy through Cap & Tax?
For reasons his own, Lindsey Graham's official Senate photo contains this shout-out to Bette Davis. This does not in of itself prove he's gay, as it's common practice for men in North Carolina to include photos of Davis in their official portraits, just as guys in South Carolina use Joan Crawford in theirs. Hence, the bad blood between North and South continues the greatest feud in all of Hollywood.
The Eric Massa Affair proved something that’s only been speculated about for some time: that Democrats blackmail closeted gay men in Congress to do what the Left wants them to do.
When they, like Massa, step out of line and fail to follow their marching orders, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Tim Kaine, and the current White House out them, publicly humiliate them, and destroy their lives and sham families.
Massa was a Democrat, so the only chance of him ever being outed was crossing Pelosi on something, and he did that in the leadup to the Obamacare ram-down.
Closeted gay Republicans in Washington are in a stranger bind, because while Democrats will only turn on their own in rare instances like Massa’s, closet cases in the GOP need to constantly toe the line and appease their blackmailers, lest they become the new Larry Craig, Mark Foley, or Trent Lott — all victims of the Democrat-MSM politically-driven outing machine.
Whenever a Republican votes bizarrely, for something as insane and economy-killing as Cap & Tax, chances are he’s been blackmailed into doing it. Look to Illinois’ congressional delegation for men who’ve been victim of this.
It’s why we continually hope Aaron Schock comes out in the next few years — hopefully at the next National Coming Out Day. He’s a nice guy, and he’d make a great Senator. He’d probably be excellent at the national level once he’s had more experience. But, unless he comes out, he’s just going to become someone like Lidsay Graham — and will spend decades in Washington being blackmailed by the Left into supporting madness, because he doesn’t want his homosexuality exposed.
Just come out already, and take the power away from Democrats.
If Republicans would just stand up and be who they are, the Left would lose so much power. Stop lying. Stop hiding. Stop being blackmailed.
We have never seen one benefit of this Cap & Tax monstrosity. It’s a job killer. It will have absolutely no impact on the environment, as China and India refuse to enact such economy-dampening measures in their countries. The net result of this madness will be shuttered factories, which will be moved overseas, where doing business is now cheaper because of Cap & Tax. Higher costs will mean more expensive food and consumer goods, at a time when food is already the most expensive in 26 years and the government is set to increase taxes on both businesses and consumers drastically.
No good will come of this.
So, why is Graham pushing it?
What do Democrats have on him?
If Republicans were smart, they’d take the hit and out Graham themselves. If they were brilliant, they’d take the opportunity to out all gay Republicans at once. Bring them all out of the closet, like ripping a Band-Aid off quickly, in one swoop, instead of allowing Democrats the leisure of torturously peeling off one of these closet cases at a time, whenever it best serves their political agenda.
Yes, it’s scary when you first come out. People treat you differently. Family and friends won’t speak to you in many cases. Your whole life shifts poles.
But, scarier than all of this is the thought the White House, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and the DNC dangle a pink sword of Damocles over the heads of enough Republicans to blackmail them into voting against the country’s best interests because they don’t want their nocturnal adventures exposed.
If these guys would just expose themselves publicly — in the sense that wouldn’t get them arrested, like Craig — and came clean (no entendre intended), the DNC wouldn’t know what to do with itself (though, we bet, Rahm Emanuel and Obama could teach them a few tricks).

One of the things that absolutely makes guys in Boystown blanche, more than our support for Sarah Palin, is our recently found respect and admiration for Dick Cheney.
We have a framed picture of him up on the walls here in Buzzquarters, in our Hall of Heroes, and when people come over they say, “We don’t get it. Why is this funny”.
“It’s not funny. It’s Vice President Dick Cheney, American Hero and Gay Icon”.
“You done lost your minds”.
Never before in American history has anyone in the executive branch of government been more supportive of LGBTQ rights than Dick Cheney. Never before have we had a Vice President who loved America more, or who went to bat for this country with just about everything he’s got.
We, as a nation, are blessed Cheney took such a strong role in raising his two daughters, Liz and Mary, because a lot of him rubbed off on them, Liz especially.
She’s a future president herself, and we can’t wait to campaign for her, even if we’ll never get the chance to campaign or volunteer for Cheney himself. Will just have to settle for Liz as she makes her way in politics — and if you’ve seen her in action, if this is settling, then let’s all settle away. She’s a firecracker, just like her pop.
Cheneys rule.
Especially when they’re giving the smack down to some putz that deserves it — like Florida’s orange Governor, the sniveling Charlie “Sweet Charlotte” Crist.

No More Beans or Broccoli for Rahm Emanuel
Remember when some farmers went nuts in the 80s because George H. W. Bush admitted he didn’t like broccoli? There was a huge uproar that the president didn’t eat broccoli. While we love Poppy Bush, and we love broccoli too, we don’t have to go all Sophie’s Choice or crazy with that. He can not eat broccoli in the White House house if he doesn’t want to eat broccoli, and really, not even farmers should have an opinion on that one way or the other.
Now, with Rahm Emanuel, though, based on what he’s doing on the Charlie Rose Show, we’re thinking a no-broccoli, no-beans, no-Mexican food order should be imposed on the White House Chief of Staff.
If he does this while sitting peacefully in a chair, just imagine what it would have been like dancing with him when he was a ballerina back in New York in the 70s. We would not have wanted to be around when this one launched himself into the air or came landing down upon the stage, in his pastel tights, losing control and letting it all rip.
No thanks.
How embarrassing that this is the face, and the flatulence, the White House chooses to send out into the world to represent it, and by extension, the American people. A man who used to party with Warhol and Capote as a disco diva by night, ballerina by day, who spouts all manner of foul noise out both ends, and who dreams of being Chicago’s Mayor so he could, presumably, behave like this while running our city into the ground.
Rose should be thankful for small favors, though. If he had been interviewing Oprah, especially on chili day down at Harpo Studios, he might not have survived to commercial break.
