This is a purely speculative thread, but what do think is going to happen this weekend?
Do you think Democrats are really so suicidal and stupid as to pass the Rationing Bill on Sunday, as Nancy Pelosi keeps threatening?
Do you think the would be stupid enough to actually try to use a “Slaughter Slam” to force that madness through without even voting on it?
Do you think that whatever happens, this weekend is the last stand for this Rationing insanity?
There are a lot of wild cards in play right now. We truly don’t know where the dust is going to settle come Monday. Frankly, we don’t see how Pelosi pulls this business off, because if she had the votes, she would have voted on this today and been done with it.
We’ve come to the conclusion that she really is insane, and much of the DNC is mad too, so what they do doesn’t have to make any sense any more. There’s no master strategy. There’s no real end game. They’re just doing as much damage to the country as they can every day, like termites chomping through the Constitution one bite at a time. They will continue to do this so long as they are in elected office. It appears to be what they were born to do.
What’s your gut feeling about all of this?
Where do you think things will be come Monday?
We’re very curious to know what your feeling is on this — not what you know, or what you’ve read, but what you are FEELING.
March 19, 2010 at 7:15 pm
If Stupak and company switch from no to yes, it will pass. That also means that group of 12 will be responsible for the demise of America and we Americans can and will blame those 12, starting with Stupak!!!
If they don’t cave – we win!
March 19, 2010 at 7:16 pm
Stupak has a press conference tomorrow.
He cut a deal.
Its going to pass.
March 19, 2010 at 7:43 pm
It’s not clear that he — or really, Pelosi — has succeeded in doing so, according to this report:
http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=NjQ5ZDU1NzA5NzI0MWVmZjM3ZDlhODI3MWY4ZjVhOTk=
If there is in fact a deal that he was hoping to reach, according to this information, it would have involved further hardly-ever or never-used procedural maneuvers, and other voting blocs in the House would be alienated in the process.
So, take heart!
March 19, 2010 at 7:49 pm
And another,
http://hotair.com/archives/2010/03/19/new-stupak-drama-pelosi-leaning-on-pro-choicers-to-make-a-deal/
March 19, 2010 at 7:52 pm
More praying ahead tonight from me.
Thanks for the update.
March 19, 2010 at 7:44 pm
And check this out:

March 19, 2010 at 8:02 pm
And this — what its significance is, is not exactly obvious, but remember that the Democratic Senators had no compunction about going public with their support for reconciliation:

March 19, 2010 at 8:18 pm
Now we hear that Reid is going to make this letter public, but without revealing which Senators have signed it:
http://www.politico.com/livepulse/0310/Reid_to_release_letter__without_signatories.html#
(via a comment at Ace of Spades)
March 19, 2010 at 8:39 pm
Yeah, but everyone who has called a pressy has turned to yes. I’m keeping my fingers crossed but I’s skeered.
March 19, 2010 at 8:19 pm
This is quite off topic but I felt an urgency to post this as soon as I found out about it—-online poll of Obama vs. Sarah……Vote early, vote often in this online poll then post it on every conservative website you blog at!!!!!!!
http://www.annarbor.com/news/president-barack-obama-v-sarah-palin-former-rivals-will-both-deliver-keynote-addresses-in-michigan-m/
March 19, 2010 at 8:47 pm
Run Sarah, run!
March 19, 2010 at 9:28 pm
She is up by 10
March 19, 2010 at 11:06 pm
Correction….she’s up by 29 points—no contest.
March 20, 2010 at 12:37 am
Sarah is double…. :)
March 19, 2010 at 11:08 pm
She’s kicking his butt…
March 19, 2010 at 9:03 pm
When I spoke to a staff member in Stupak’s office today I got the distinct feeling he was going to cave. Nothing I could put my finger on, but as I was thanking Stupak for standing strong, etc, etc, etc, the staff member was strangely silent, as if he knew Stupak had already changed sides.
Stupak has already gone on record saying that he hopes he can vote against the bill (not that people really are voting for or against the bill, which is just one of many problems at this point), but that it will pass.
It’s pitiful that it’s come to that. He wants to feel ok with his conscience yet hopes the bill will pass anyway. One can only wonder how much he truly believes in his principles. If he did, he shouldn’t want the vote to pass.
One way or another, the word coward is applicable to most of our elected officials.
Where does integrity fall apart in our growing up?
March 19, 2010 at 9:29 pm
But they are supposed to vote how their constituents wish .. not how they wish..and his constituents don’t want it.
March 20, 2010 at 12:59 am
Stupak has always wanted to vote for this bill. Only the pro-life language is holding him back. If he makes a deal with Pelosi to get a vote for his tie-back legislation and it passes, then he’ll vote for the bill.
Greta interviewed him tonight and he said, except for the abortion language, he wanted to vote for this bill. Health care is something he’s been working on since he got elected, 18 years ago, so he really wants this crap sandwich passed.
I think Nancy’ll give him his vote. The best thing is for the Repubs to vote present, and the legislation fails. From what I’ve read, Stupak wants his legislation voted on after the senate bill is voted on (he’ll vote yes). This is extremely stupid of him. If the Repubs vote present his legislation fails, he’s screwed and it’s his own fault.
The guy’s a major dink.
March 19, 2010 at 7:16 pm
One additional item this weekend the hard core Commies and SEIU will be in DC at the same time the Patriot Tea party group will be there–fireworks???
March 19, 2010 at 7:16 pm
Plus I am really feeling that we are going to defeat this!
March 19, 2010 at 9:03 pm
I hope you are right, KT. I will be in DC tomorrow with my family to do what we can to fight this thing. I am praying every night for courage and strength…
March 19, 2010 at 11:25 pm
I soooooooo appreciate you and the others that are able to attend. Thank you, and don’t forget to bring your rolled up newspaper. According to one of the other blogs I read today, it makes a mighty weapon if you have to swat “at something.” Take care and God bless.
March 19, 2010 at 7:20 pm
I’m feeling that it will pass because I think Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Rahm, David Axelrod and the evil democratic machine has bulldozed the weak members of Congress. I believe members have been brainwashed into believing that this is “historical” and noble and that even if they get voted out in November, it will be worth it because of what they’ve done for Dr. Utopia’s legacy. It’s all about Obama and his narcissistic plan to make “history”. And the fact that Pelosi is making them vote on this on the Sabbath, the Lord’s day, is so disgusting to me, it makes me nauseous. They’ll have to vote to include federally funded abortions on the Sabbath. Evil Evil Evil. I’m so sad right now for my kids and future grandkids at this moment. They’ll have to pay for all of this.
March 19, 2010 at 7:27 pm
They won’t be able to pay for this, Brenda.
The Treasurer from the State of Massachusetts(where they already have this government care) said that the country will be broke in FOUR YEARS.
The system will collapse.
Money will be worthless.
There will be riots.
Obama is intent on destroying this country. Mark my words.
March 19, 2010 at 7:28 pm
I agree. He is ruining the country on purpose.
Prepare folks. I am not sure if we have even 4 years.
March 19, 2010 at 7:47 pm
I have always thought the the election of 2010 is the very longest we have to stop this.
March 19, 2010 at 8:10 pm
If there is an election!
March 19, 2010 at 8:52 pm
There will be an election. The denial of an election would the the anvil that broke this country’s back.
March 19, 2010 at 9:08 pm
Getting my food storage ready and am moving to AZ in 2 months to be near family…they are well prepared and I want to be close to them if it hits the fan…
also, really don’t want to be this close to DC anymore it just makes me physically ill.
March 19, 2010 at 7:38 pm
It doesn’t matter if they can’t pay for this. This has nothing to do with healthcare or paying for anything. It has to do with seizing control over you.
March 19, 2010 at 7:46 pm
I know that, noodle.
But maybe the American cattle don’t understand that.
March 19, 2010 at 7:54 pm
American cattle.. hahahaah
March 19, 2010 at 7:50 pm
I saw something a few weeks on the “nature” and dynamics of all money…and the bottom line was that all of our money is basically worthless now, because of the spending and “bookkeeping” that has gone on. The only thing that is keep world wide financial “systems” sustainable at this point is that no one has “called it” and demanded that everything be put on the table yet.
It would only take one major financial market or stock exchange to choose to “stop playing the game” and the whole thing would come down.
I wish we could guess–30 days out–when that would happen so that we could all stop paying all our bills, hang on to all our cash, so that we would have a 2-3 week window to get to where we are going to do our surviving. Hubby and I simply cannot get trapped here in northern Minnesota. We have no family here at this point, and have to get to an area where winter weather can be survived without much outside help.
March 19, 2010 at 8:26 pm
Emma:
You and your husband can come to Minneapolis and stay with me.
I have plenty of room as my husband is in the Middle East.
No kids.
We’ll help each other.
March 19, 2010 at 8:43 pm
The only problem with calling in the debt is that everyone else will go down with it. It’s like a line of dominos. One falls (like Greece) and we all fall. Just a matter of time if we don’t stop the spending and I’m not seeing that happen any time soon.
March 19, 2010 at 8:52 pm
Tamara, you’re a Bigheart! we have one son in Oregon and one in Colorado…that’s our ultimate destination, but we may not make in time for this mess….but thanks!:)
March 19, 2010 at 9:40 pm
Well, it’s an open invitation. If you ever need help, you can come here.
That’s what neighbors do for each other.
March 19, 2010 at 10:08 pm
Brenda,
I mistakenly thought Sunday was Palm Sunday and was enraged that they would require their members to vote/work on such a meaningful and holy day in the Christian calendar. But you are absolutely right. Every Sunday is meaningful and holy…It’s the Lord’s day. And forcing their members to vote for a bill that will fund abortions with the citizen’s treasury and will ration care for the most vulnerable elderly…it’s an abomination! I’m ashamed of all of them.
Hillbuzz wants to know how we feel about it. I “feel” a lightening bolt coming down on the Hill Sunday. We won’t see it but the Holy Spirit will be there. Either something will stop this vote and we will know that it wasn’t man inspired – or the actions of those who vote yes will be written in the Book to be dealt with as He sees fit. Perhaps in November.
I would not want to be among the gallery and watch the members do somthing so repulsive and shameful and know that it certainly could have waited until a normal work day. It could have waited forever since it’s such a pig of a bill with goodies for all the pigs in congress.
Grrrrr.
March 20, 2010 at 11:09 am
Well said JerseyGram. And I do believe that making members vote on this travesty on a Sunday will be their downfall. Do they not see the irony of this? God has patience in all things, but He has his limits. I believe HE is getting pretty pissed off right now and this one vote, on the Sabbath, will push Him over the edge.
March 19, 2010 at 7:21 pm
I feel ill, much the same way I felt the night of the presidential election. I refused to have the tv/computer on until I had my little ones in bed. I was scared. When I saw the outcome, I cried (nasty snotty crying) for 2 hours. I cried for Isreal, I cried for the US….I cried.
I feel the same now, way down in the pit of my stomache. They are doing something evil. Only bad will come of the outcome the Libs are “praying” for.
March 19, 2010 at 10:46 pm
I did the exact same thing. I couldn’t watch the election results and when I finally did I started sobbing. I knew this country was in for something bad, bad, bad. We HAVE to take this country back. Or it’s “lights out” for freedom all over the world.
March 19, 2010 at 11:12 pm
Same here… Felt at the time that we were doomed.
March 19, 2010 at 7:23 pm
Maybe this will be a bit of comfort.
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aghrqNBEBtIc
Remember how bad the Revolutionary War started.
Remember the Battle of Britain.
Sometimes a kick in the teeth is what is needed to wake everyone up.
March 19, 2010 at 7:38 pm
EZBurns Thank you great article. The Democrats have also revealed their utter contempt for the Constitution, WE THE PEOPLE, laws, rules-tactics that include bribery, coercion-death threats (?) wouldn’t put that past them. Terrible bill, at a terrible time in our history, the American people hate it-hence the shoving down throats, with all the lawsuits planned it may not be over with until election time. The thing they worry most about anyway. Due to their past performance, the Dems losing big time is a foregone conclusion. The American people are thoroughly disgusted with them and their antics.
March 19, 2010 at 8:20 pm
I believe I will forever after this vote against the dems. There will never be enough opportunity to assuage my need to vote against them.
March 19, 2010 at 8:54 pm
My parents after Carter..
never voted Democrat again.
Carter forever changed thier mind.
Obama will do the same for my generation.
March 19, 2010 at 10:14 pm
My father voted for Reagan because of Carter’s failed presidency. He was so angry with Carter. He never looked back – even when Nixon was impeached. He was a life-long Democrat and a township committee man. I totally understand how you feel.
March 20, 2010 at 4:06 am
Nixon was not impeached. He resigned before the process took place… like an honourable man should resign.
March 19, 2010 at 7:24 pm
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I feel angry and frustrated.
Frustrated because people were elected to represent US, and instead of doing that, they are only looking out for themselves.
How could anyone in Congress pass a bill without reading it?
How could these Representatives of the people be so stupid?
How could that idiotic 52% of people who voted for Obama be so blind to his intentions when he has so openly admitted his intentions?
I’m sickened at how selfish and stupid the American people are.
“Give me free stuff! Give me free stuff!”
What a bunch of cattle.
Following this Messiah to their own slaughter.
I will not be a “subject” of this government, and I will fight ’till my dying day to stop this takeover of our freedoms.
I feel angry and frustrated.
And I pray.
A lot.
March 19, 2010 at 11:13 pm
ditto… I will fight the fight also.
March 19, 2010 at 7:24 pm
I think it will pass because Demoncrats are in control. They have thrown the rules into the toilet and flushed. And the media is happy they have. They are sick, demonic scum
March 19, 2010 at 8:01 pm
comments off
March 19, 2010 at 8:27 pm
Why comments off? I love your line, “sick, demonic scum”.
Brilliant!
And so true.
March 19, 2010 at 9:49 pm
They are MISCREANTS! (Man, I love that word!)
March 20, 2010 at 4:09 am
sick demonic scum fits very well with the anti-christ Nancy Piglosi.
I have been stewing about her comments concerning praying to St. Joseph. The hilarious part is that she fouled up… the feast is not St. Joseph the Worker.
I have been stewing because this woman is no Catholic… she was chewed out by the Pope… but since there is nothing between the ears… whatever he said to her… went in one ear and out the other… without making any impact upon her dead soul…. (Catholics should understand that souls can be dead spiritually – )
March 19, 2010 at 7:27 pm
I’m FEELING that this will get jammed through. I don’t think the Democrats care at all about the consequences of it; they just want to “win” this one and then gloat about it.
But then the lawsuits and the mass civil disobedience and the secret guerilla war against the dirty krats (Democrats and their enablers) begins.
I’m also thinking that maybe if we really want to get the krats off our backs, then having HamfistedIRSHealthCare jammed down our collective throats sideways is one of the things we might have to put up with in the short run before the final defeat of the krats becomes doable.
March 19, 2010 at 9:42 pm
I concur with this.
March 19, 2010 at 7:29 pm
Hillbuzz guys-Michele Bachmann is still working trying to defeat this bill. Lawsuits are being constructed even as we speak against this bill, many states going with the 10 Amendment-38 states so far I think, more in the works to ban this bill in their state. Huge marches planned for this week-end, Tea Party, Michele Bachmann, Jon Voight. I hope Stupak and group does not cave, all those who did previously are considered sell-outs or bribe takers polite for scum. Why would Hillary supporters be surprised? When DNC broke it’s own rules to install Obama, what’s a little piece of paper like the Constitution? to Obama “just words”. The Democrats either way are finished, the party will be destroyed, no one except criminals and hoodlums will remain in it. No decent American will want to have anything to do with them. They have found new levels of corruption even Caligula and Nero could not imagine.
March 19, 2010 at 7:35 pm
They can file all the lawsuits they want… but.. federal law trumps state law.
I feel sick.
March 19, 2010 at 7:39 pm
That’s not true, Kristi.
Especially with all of the sweetheart deals in the bill. You can’t write a Federal law that doesn’t apply to all of the States. If it passes, it will be overturned as unconstitutional.
March 19, 2010 at 7:43 pm
I was just watching lawyers.. they all believe the states wont win.
I hope they are wrong.
I really think our only hope is rescind it with a republican president in 2012. BEFORE it even starts… once we have it.. we will never get rid of it.
March 19, 2010 at 7:48 pm
Also at the end of the day… the ONLY thing saving us—we have a conservative Supreme Court!
March 19, 2010 at 7:50 pm
Thank God for that!
March 19, 2010 at 9:46 pm
I wouldn’t listen to a bunch a lawyers unless they are constitutional lawyers. Trial lawyers are in the tank for Obama because they see $$$$ in this health care bill.
March 19, 2010 at 7:47 pm
Don’t forget, though — if they deem it passed, rather than passing it, whether it is law at all is very much in doubt.
March 19, 2010 at 7:51 pm
Now that.. I think a lawsuit would have a chance.
March 19, 2010 at 8:57 pm
Yes. I am tempted to Deem them all treasonous scum. Deem them guilty….
March 19, 2010 at 8:06 pm
The 10th Amendment doesn’t give the Federal gov’t the right to control healthcare.
March 19, 2010 at 8:15 pm
bingo!
I called VA atty general’s office today, and I asked them about the Supremacy clause.
And they stated that they and other AGs, over 30 across the country, the supremacy clause will only work when the federal law itself is constitutional.
and they are 100% sure, mandates like this ARE NOT.
and I also said, states like AZ are putting this on a ballot, and other states are as well, what happens when so many state’s people reject this nonsense on a ballot, and the VA AG’s office explained, that the ballot intiatives are very hard to overturn.
THIS ISSUE IS NOT GOING AWAY IF THEY RAM THIS POS BILL THRU. THE BACKLASH IS GOING GROWING.
March 19, 2010 at 8:30 pm
Thank ssmith, that was a very enlightening phone call. The thing about the pushback is that it will go on and on and on. Because unlike countries that wanted socialized medicine, we didn’t.
March 19, 2010 at 8:58 pm
Thanks for that clarification, ssmith.
March 19, 2010 at 10:50 pm
Indeed, Devon.
That’s why so many State legislatures have introduced bills to nullify any federal mandates regarding healthcare. Here’s a list:
http://www.tenthamendmentcenter.com/nullification/health-care/
My mom couldn’t get through to her federal Rep, so I suggested that she start calling her State Rep and Senator to demand that they stop the Feds from dumping hundreds of millions of dollars in Medicaid mandates on the state. Unemployment here is 13.9% (!!!!) and the traitors in Congress and the WH want to just pile on. I think the tipping point is almost here. My mom and I almost cried on the phone the other day. It’s getting bad.
March 19, 2010 at 9:53 pm
Kristi,
The states can, in fact, nullify the bill by refusing to follow or adopt any part of it.
It’s ugly, and the Dims will piss and moan, but it would work.
March 20, 2010 at 4:11 am
No… your federal law does not trump the states. Read your Constitution. The states do have rights….
March 19, 2010 at 7:30 pm
Merlin is so cute! Great sign!
March 19, 2010 at 7:32 pm
Physically — since the question is about feeling — I’m horribly on edge, pretty much as on the eve of the House vote in November and the Senate vote in December.
Much rides on the turn-out at tomorrow’s rally. I’m hoping for some stirring strong words, capable of swaying some of the Reps who say they’re still undecided. How I wish I could be there in person!
Boyz, I think your main point is on the mark. If they can’t usurp control over this vital sector of the economy and over “our bodies, ourselves,” then they’ll settle for spreading sheer chaos far and wide.
What will happen starting Monday if they do manage somehow to win their vote on Sunday? All I know is that the temperature in America is going to rise drastically (and not as envisioned by Al Gore).
March 19, 2010 at 7:34 pm
“They’ll settle for spreading sheer chaos.” Yes, you are absolutely right.
Sunday, I think I am going to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows to pray for my mom and for this country.
March 19, 2010 at 11:47 pm
Speaking of Al Gore, did anyone get an answer from him regarding why Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn are also showing signs of significant warming? As far as I know, none of us have been trampling around on them with our carbon footprints.
March 19, 2010 at 7:32 pm
The Boyz compare Pelosi and company to termites. Time to call the exterminator, folks!
Now to how I feel . . . what’s in my gut . . . I fear this monstrosity will pass. At the same time, I do believe in miracles . . . that it won’t.
What is REALLY pathetic is that one has to say “I believe in miracles” when it comes to something good coming out of THIS Communist Congress.
I look forward to the day that Utopia is humiliated beyond all measure. That will be a good day. And he will have earned the dishonor.
March 19, 2010 at 7:32 pm
I too am thinking this is going to pass.
However, I do think that a lot of Americans have woken up and are not happy with this administration. I think November can’t come fast enough.
Perseverence and determination – these 2 words I have to live by in order to make it to November.
It will be an interesting weekend in DC. You also have the big amnesty march on Sunday as well.
The RGA – Republican Governors Alliance – came out with this video. Makes me hopeful.
March 19, 2010 at 7:48 pm
The Democrats (scum division Obama, Pelosi and Reid) have given so much material in these videos alone for the Republicans to have huge victories in November. Obama’s numbers have been in the tank since June 30, he was -21 on Rasmussen again today. Dem’s keep acting like it’s the day after the election,it may be recorded as one of the worst days in America’s history and he was a failure in only 6 months. Fastest slide in our history-this is not a success story.
March 19, 2010 at 10:34 pm
We are hearing from the pundits that his new whine to wavering Democrats is that they have to vote “yes” to “save his presidency”…!!!!!…
Even he knows he has failed.
What we all don’t understand is why any of the Blue Dogs would go against principle and do it. Why are some no’s switching to yes’s? It’s not the power of the presidency so much if he is begging them to save him. It’s what he can offer them. Job security – if they get smashed in November, he’s offering them a safe landing so they can collect even more of our money in pension points.
He’s such a despicable EGO, I don’t think I could offer him my support, even if I knew I would not be re-elected.
God be with us all during this unsettling time.
March 19, 2010 at 7:56 pm
Great video. I’m reading up on the 10th amendment. Here in Cal. we have referendum, recall, and ballot initiatives. Even if you live in a state without a Repub. governor, if you have state wide initiatives people could still start taking back the country. This is war but as Mohandes Gandhi proved war doesn’t mean violent physical force. Gandhi called it Satyagraha. We in English have no direct equivalent word. Some call it truth force, I call it the force of freely flowing information. We’re already all doing this by being honest with each other here on the internet.
March 19, 2010 at 8:36 pm
I had a huge brainwave along these lines last night – about a war that has no physical weapons, but our strengths are the weapons. I will share in a post at bottom.
March 19, 2010 at 10:00 pm
You know, every day I pray for the truthtellers, big and small, ordinary and prominent. I honestly believe that those who stand in this “truth force” stand closest to our Creator. We will be guided and protected because we stand in that light of truth. It’s what helps me to remain positive during these times.
March 19, 2010 at 8:37 pm
this was a really kickass video.
March 19, 2010 at 7:32 pm
Here’s another brave Minnesotan who is fighting against this Health Care.
She’s also fighting against the State taking a baby’s DNA at birth. Did you guys know that they can do that without your permission?
I guess the Socialists want to track you from birth to death.
http://www.cchconline.org/
March 19, 2010 at 7:51 pm
Tamara-Im beginning to think socialist means a bunch of busy bodies with way too much time on their hands, peeking and probing into other peoples lives. They should get a life or a reasonable facsimile thereof.
March 19, 2010 at 8:31 pm
It is a bunch of busy-bodies, Michelle.
And sadly, most of them are Democrats. Perverted Dems, who feel superior to others and want to tell YOU how to live, what to eat, and what to think.
I never felt that way about Democrats until this Marxist was elected. What happened to the JFK Dems? Where did they all go?
Sorry for my rant. Off topic.
March 19, 2010 at 8:36 pm
We quit.
March 19, 2010 at 9:42 pm
Thank you for quitting, Perries.
March 19, 2010 at 9:43 pm
Tamara
“What happened to the JFK Dems” we are still here-I was a little kid when he ran/elected/assassinated-3 days when the entire world stopped. We are the purists, I guess. JFK hated Communism, he thought it was the worst evil that ever was-
“Freedom is indivisible, and when one man is enslaved, all are not free”
“…the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God.”
“Let both sides unite to heed in all corners of the earth the command of Isaiah–to “undo the heavy burdens . . . (and) let the oppressed go free.”
Pray God-Isaiah in his wisdom imparts upon some to the Democrats a/k/a the oppressors and undo the heavy burdens Obama and minions are trying to lay on the people. They are anti-JFK and any known spirituality-POWER and MONEY are their major issues.
March 19, 2010 at 10:30 pm
Michelle:
If JFK were running today, he would be a Republican.
The Democratic party has been usurped by do-gooder know-it alls who tell us how to live.
JFK:
What can you do for your country?
Well, I am listening to him now.
And Martin Luther King:
Judge a man by his character.
Still listening.
When will the Democratic party listen?
Not until they are thrown out of office.
March 19, 2010 at 7:34 pm
We’ll survive.
And we’ll continue to fight.
We’ll commiserate, share stories and tactics.
If everything goes to hell in a handbasket, we’ll share resources, food and shelter.
March 19, 2010 at 7:53 pm
I wouldn’t bet on that. They will have destroyed the non-union workers, empowered the Unions, gave preferential health plans to Unions and all Federal employees, penalized the go-getters and the wealthy, to the point that what revenue there is barely will cover cost, and we will then become a third world entity….which seems to be the plan they have set into motion. It has nothing to do with Health Care.
March 19, 2010 at 8:33 pm
Joanne, I’ a member of TWO unions.
SAG and AFTRA.
Both Unions have destroyed our work with their demands.
The Unions don’t care about their workers. They care about their workers DUES money, which they use to manipulate the government for more power.
Unions should be abolished.
March 19, 2010 at 9:45 pm
Tamara
the mob calls it “protection”-I have always failed to see the difference, extortion by any other name is still extortion.
March 19, 2010 at 10:03 pm
I look to the day when more American workers see that pro-union now translates to anti-independent worker.
March 19, 2010 at 11:51 pm
I think it is important to preserve the right of workers to unionize. However, I don’t think unions should be nationalized. They should actually have to be made up of the workers of a particular company.
We have a friend who owns a business who has had to fire good workers, men he knew had families to support, because they couldn’t afford to pay the dues and so were on the outs with the union. Union rules said they couldn’t have non-union at the company, so he had to fire someone who was decent, a hard worker, because he didn’t pay the dues to a union that is supposed to protect him. How’s that for worker’s rights?
March 20, 2010 at 9:49 am
We need unions to protect us — all of us — from the unions!
March 19, 2010 at 8:53 pm
er,
I was talking about soap, jam and duck eggs.
March 19, 2010 at 8:58 pm
Sorry, EZ. I could use a few chickens in my yard. And maybe I should call my pig farmer cousins in Iowa for a few sows. LOL
March 19, 2010 at 7:36 pm
I’m feeling that on Sunday, they will vote on it using the Slaughter House Rule and pass it that way. But that will not be the end. It will not be over. Lawsuits will be next. If they pass this Obamination by deeming it passed, then IMO they (those who vote for it) will be oathbreakers and traitors to the Consitution. I don’t care if SCOTUS upholds it as being constitution or not. If they can “deem” this bill passed, then they can “deem” just about anything passed. Next up will be amnesty, because they’re going to need those extra votes in the fall.
March 19, 2010 at 7:41 pm
Amnesty will happen next. Free healthcare for MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of illegal immigrants and thier families.
March 19, 2010 at 7:50 pm
And don’t forget the Cap and Trade bill.
March 19, 2010 at 10:48 pm
Last time they tried it, we shut their computers and their switchboards down. If they continue to fight us, we’ll continue to fight back. If we can’t get them to stop before November, we’ll take them to the courts and hold things up that way.
Lobbyists will make a bazillion dollars between now and November on both sides. We’ll call them out and boycott those who give them money.
March 19, 2010 at 7:48 pm
Any supposed “law” created in this manner will no doubt also be challenged in court.
March 19, 2010 at 7:50 pm
I agree with you. From what I have read today, I think the bill will pass. However, I to think that the lawsuits are going to hit shortly thereafter. And for some reason, I believe that the SCOTUS will deem it unconstitutional. They will have to, because there are so many things within it, and how they passed it that are flawed.
I have felt ill this entire week. And even though I pray constantly, my heart aches for our country.
March 19, 2010 at 7:41 pm
My gut feeling is the same feeling I had before the election. I don’t want to say it because this is worse and I feel like throwing up.
And silence. Where is anyone representing our side, from congress, front and center and loud on camera…and if the commie media won’t oblige…get colorful on those that will. The louder and more colorful, the others will have to report it.
March 19, 2010 at 7:42 pm
I think we should strongly step out in support of the idea that there must be a roll call on the final vote so we KNOW who voted in favor of the Obamanation Legislation:
http://gopleader.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=177260
March 19, 2010 at 7:44 pm
To your first three questions, yes, yes, and yes….although whether or not she actually has the vote, we don’t know. I still have a 1% hope that some democrats who remember what it is to be an American will have a “standing up inside” moment where they will realize what they are participating in and will refuse to go along.
I have never in my life seen such group betrayal (for which individuals must be held accountable) on the part of alleged Americans. I am grateful that they were clumsy enough and stupid enough to let it be this public and obvious….it probably saved us some time. It made it quite impossible for people to keep pretending that the things these vile persons want to do are just a matter of a difference of opinion.
My further feelings would require words I really never use and would not choose to use in this forum. Fury. Fear. Indignation. President Hussein’s supporters should be very pleased with themselves, I suppose, for what he is doing to this country. And, at the moment, I really don’t want to hear from those would say, “But we didn’t know.” Well, several million of us DID know, and I really don’t believe it’s because we’re so all-fired smart. We just comprehended what we were looking at and believed what he himself said about his goals and intentions and his opinions about America. Maybe I’ll be ready to listen to the deceived voters at some point. Not today. We are on the precipice. If you voted for him and are sorry for it–my suggestion is that you keep your mouth shut about it in big groups, get on the barricades and we will all stay there until this is beaten back.
Then we’ll have a coke together and push forward to try to rebuild what’s left.
March 19, 2010 at 7:58 pm
I totally agree with you Emma. Also, how many red flags went up before the election that foretold the evil that was coming? I certainly knew of Obama’s past and his voting record, the fact that he sat in a marxist’s church for 20 years, that he’s good friends with Ayers/Dorhn, that his parents and grandparents were marxists/socialists. I’m not a rocket scientist, but I was able to figure all this out (and a whole lot more) before the election. Why didn’t his supporters figure this out? Answer: they didn’t want to. They wanted a black man in the Oval Office. Period.
March 19, 2010 at 8:34 pm
Bingo. Blinded by some white guilt notion reparations on the cheap.
March 19, 2010 at 8:35 pm
And by electing this traitorous Marxist, the country won’t see another President of color for another fifty years.
Nice job, you ignorant cattle voters!
March 19, 2010 at 9:06 pm
I hope that’s not true, there are some wonderful politicians I’ve met this past year who happen to be black.. but I’m afraid you’re right.
March 20, 2010 at 4:24 am
There are other good men and women who happen to be AA… they are not Democrats…. and they are not incompetent. They have had successful careers.
March 19, 2010 at 8:53 pm
This is an interesting dynamic that you two are describing. It’s voluntary mind control; it means refusing to see what is in sitting right in front of you for fear of being politically incorrect. The end result is willingly subjugating yourself to others. Our press now isn’t any better than Tas or Pravda and they did it to themselves!! They didn’t need to be threatened with the Gulag or a one-way trip to Siberia; they were happy to become a propanda wing for our government. When I first read 1984 as a teenager, it seemed pretty farfetched. Now, I live it everyday. This can happen when the approval of other people is a higher priority than thinking for yourself and acknowledging truth.
March 19, 2010 at 9:37 pm
Well I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Haven’t you taken your Soma?
Nice analogy.
And it’s all coming true.
March 19, 2010 at 7:46 pm
I am feeling like I will fight this to the bitter bitter end. Liberty or Death. If this goes through I really do believe there will be a revolution. Be prepared.
March 19, 2010 at 7:46 pm
Larry Sabato has tweeted that the Dems have the votes and it is over. The so called Blue Dogs, such as Suzanne Kosmas, are starting to line up with Pelosi. I hope that conservatives walk away from this debacle with a full understanding that there are virtually no moderate Democrats. Blue Dogs are simply Dems who posture as fiscally conservative but, when it comes time to vote, reliably support the Left. Going forward, let’s quit playing into the hands of Dems and dismiss Blue Dogs as the frauds they are.
Conservatives need to learn another lesson and be as stubborn and committed as the Left. The liberals were like the shark in Jaws; they just kept coming and coming and never gave up. In the future we need to be just as relentless and as committed to fighting for what we believe in as leftists are.
I have never donated money to a political candidate but I can’t wait to whip out my checkbook this year to support whoever runs against Kosmas.
The Left may think this is over but it we have to make sure it is just the beginning….
March 19, 2010 at 11:12 pm
It’s now after midnight and I haven’t heard any “breaking news” on any of the cable channels. She may be telling Larry Sabato that she has the votes, but if she did, she would have told them all to come to the House and vote. She hasn’t. She’s still romancing the dogs.
March 19, 2010 at 7:47 pm
Even if it passes, it’s not over. 36 states have bills pending to refuse to go along with it. There are supreme court challenges brewing. And states are having financial problems, being unable to afford to meet the mandates will force them to fight it.
I just want people to keep their chins up and to remember that this country has passed other atrocious bills in our history and gone on to repeal them later. Just because a bill is passed and signed doesn’t mean the fight is over.
March 19, 2010 at 8:40 pm
Hey, great point. I raise my glass of wine in memory of Prohibition.
March 19, 2010 at 9:24 pm
I don’t know if this is true or not, but I heard somewhere that they’ve put clauses in this bill that it can’t ever be repealed by another Congress.
Does anyone know if this is true?
March 19, 2010 at 9:55 pm
That’s like putting a no compete clause in someone’s contract. It’s all well and good but what court would take away your livlihood and not allow you to earn money for your family.
Anyway, I’m off on a tangent but there is nothing that cannot be repealed. The key is that the public has to still not want whatever it is. Once the masses get dependent on the free stuff, it’s awful hard to take it away. Fortunately with this bill the masses won’t see the free stuff until after the 2012 election.
March 19, 2010 at 10:00 pm
Ya, the Senate Bill has some ridiculous super majority requirement in it, but its so laughable, no one would be fool enough to attempt a defense of that provision. The constitution sets forth voting and overide standards, not any single stupid congress.
March 19, 2010 at 10:11 pm
Thanks G8rMom7 and blowbama–you’ve made me feel better about this!
March 19, 2010 at 11:14 pm
Talk about unconstitutional. The sitting congress has no right to prohibit future congresses from voting the interests of their constituents. Idiots. All of them.
March 20, 2010 at 4:52 am
If the Constitution can be amended, this bill can be repealed. The Dems need to learn that just saying it doesn’t make it so.
March 19, 2010 at 7:48 pm
I don’t know. My husband said that even though we have gone to all the other Protest in DC, we need to go tomorrow. So, we are going. I can’t tell you how tired I am of going to DC to be ignored by the Democratic inmates of the Washington Asylum, but not going isn’t an option. The Dems seem to think that now they can steam roll anything in their socialistic wish bag into law, by either deeming it, or by Pelosi and Obama simply telling us it is so. They are dismissing not only the People, but now the Congress and Senate. Early on I told my husband I would be surprised if there was a Presidential election in 2012….he isn’t laughing so hard at my prediction anymore….after all, Obama can “deem” himself President for Life, since that is the way they seem to read the weak members of Congress & the Senate. Boy, am I getting myself Depressed.
March 19, 2010 at 8:25 pm
Thank you for going to DC.
March 19, 2010 at 8:37 pm
After you rally tomorrow you won’t be depressed dear Joanne.
I’m a tea party protester, and showing up to fight for America made me feel stronger!
Thank you for fighting for us! I wish I could be there with you, but I have to work here in Minnesota.
But I’ll be there with you in spirit, you brave soldier!
March 19, 2010 at 8:41 pm
Thank you for going Joanne.
March 19, 2010 at 8:44 pm
Thank you from me too! I am clear across the country in Arizona…and if I could be there, I would be. Have a safe trip, and please know that many of us are with you in spirit!
Give em’ hell!
March 19, 2010 at 8:55 pm
Joanne,
Don’t be depressed. You are not taking this without a fight. I also am going to DC tomorrow, and it is the only option. I can’t sit home and let this takeover occur without doing something. I hope that this one makes a difference. We have to keep trying. I am tired also, but doing nothing will drive me crazy. I would rather be in the fight than giving up and letting the Marxists take over. We have to at least give them a fight! (A Peaceful fight!)
March 19, 2010 at 9:27 pm
Joanne/Michelle,
I’ll be joining you there as well. This is just too important to miss.
March 19, 2010 at 10:44 pm
I will see you all there.
March 19, 2010 at 10:59 pm
I live in Florida, and there’s no way I could afford to travel to DC right now. I wanted to say thank you to everyone who is travelling for us to DC tomorrow. I may do my own solo impromptu protest along a major road in Pasco County Florida tomorrow. I love you guys!
March 19, 2010 at 8:57 pm
Thank you for going again. Thank you. And now the tears start—I’m SO MAD!!!!!
March 19, 2010 at 8:57 pm
I wish I could go!
Thank you for going and PLEASE tell us all the details.
March 19, 2010 at 9:08 pm
To all of you going to DC tomorrow, thank you from the bottom of my heart. But please, please be careful. I fear the next ‘phase’ will be riots and this is ripe tomorrow with all the different factions there.
March 19, 2010 at 9:07 pm
Thank you. These are hard times. But although it seems our voices are not heard, we still must all do our part every day to take a stand and speak out. Thank you for going to DC (again) to be a true patriot, even if you are weary and frustrated.
March 19, 2010 at 9:56 pm
Thanks Joanne! If it makes you feel better, we will be with you in spirit.
March 19, 2010 at 10:02 pm
Yup, thanks for going. I actually considered the drive last night but realized there’s no way I could make the 1800 miles.
March 19, 2010 at 11:03 pm
Please be careful. It’s a sure thing that the Obama thugs will be out at all the Tea Partys this year–causing trouble and blaming it on us. I’m going to one in my state April 15th.
March 19, 2010 at 11:17 pm
But we will not ignore you. Thank you for showing up. I’ve been working on some of the “girls” here. I think I’ll be there too. I expect a call from 2 of them at 6 AM. I’ll be dressed and ready to go.
So. I’ll be the one standing next to the gorgeous blond lady with the huge “Deem This!” sign. Come over and say hi!!
March 20, 2010 at 12:16 am
I’m looking forward to meeting you!
March 20, 2010 at 1:10 pm
Thank you so much for going and for continuing to go…I’m too far away to go to any of them, so I appreciate those of you who do!
March 19, 2010 at 7:51 pm
On the vote, I think we’re royally f*cked. Our only chance is to beat it in court.
March 19, 2010 at 7:55 pm
Passing the health care bill makes perfect sense when you pair it with the information from the documentary; Endgame. I believe it is not about money or power. It is about population control. If you watch “Endgame” the government’s control of life and death is the missing piece of the puzzle and then it all makes sense. We really need to defeat this bill. I am very worried today.
March 19, 2010 at 7:56 pm
I’m angry at “conservatives”, “Christians”, “liberals”, “libertarians”, WOMEN!, “independents”. You are the ones who haven’t (and even THIS YEAR won’t) vote in the Primary Election. Almost every single sitting member of the US House (& the 1/3 of the Senate that’s up) will be on the ballot in November. The only exceptions will be those who retire. Then you will have to choose between two evils – the crappy incumbent and an equally crappy career politician from the other party.
YOU are the reason this is happening. It is Primary season right now, and the turnout has been HORRIBLE so far in almost every state.
Until WE kick the bastards out in the Primary so they aren’t even ON the General Election ballot, we deserve every horror they inflict on us.
What will it take to jerk America away from Nancy Grace, Runaway Prius Guy & American Idol long enough to VOTE in the Primary where it really matters!? Complaining doesn’t do diddly squat!
Turn off the TV long enough to find out when the Primary election is and vote for the candidate in your party who is challenging the incumbent. You don’t have to do any research. Retire the incumbent. Don’t make it harder than it is. You have all the power and you have put these fascists in office and kept them there for a lifetime by omission or commission.
March 19, 2010 at 8:07 pm
OK. I am a conservative, christian woman and my two sisters are also and we vote in EVERY election, even the small ones. Let’s not start name calling. It’s hard for people to wake up when the entire media and educational system is brainwashing people. This has been an amazing year. I just wish it had started sooner.
March 19, 2010 at 8:08 pm
amazing in the public outcry. In August I thought I was the ONLY one.
March 19, 2010 at 8:58 pm
I agree.. I am a christian woman.
I always vote.. always.
Every single election.
March 20, 2010 at 1:10 am
ME TOOO!!!
March 19, 2010 at 8:42 pm
How DARE you!
You’re going to blame conservatives for this mess?
Screw you.
I’m now a Republican delegate, have never been involved in politics in my LIFE, and I’m coaching FOUR candidates.
STFU and take a midol.
Maybe YOU live in a loser State, but I DON’T.
Why don’t you turn off your hatred for your own party long enough to see who the real enemy is: DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISTS and MARXISTS.
March 19, 2010 at 8:43 pm
Oh, and no offense to Hillbuzz and the Dems who have seen the light.
The Democratic party has been usurped by Marxists, and people here know it.
March 19, 2010 at 11:06 pm
Please call it the Democrat party. They are not democratic. They are socialistic. Republicans are democratic.
March 19, 2010 at 9:08 pm
Go Tamara!!!!!
March 19, 2010 at 11:13 pm
You might be being a little hard on this person. I get the gist of
what he/she is saying. He/she is lamenting the general lack of interest in voting, other than in general elections which are
by no means exceptional as far as participation is concerned either. This person wasn’t picking on any one particular group, and maybe if he had just indicated people in general as opposed to trying to list the different group labels (like conservatives or liberals), his point would have been better made. You have to admit that typically it’s the activists who end up choosing the candidate that is run during the general elections.
March 19, 2010 at 11:22 pm
If I remember correctly from past comments, rutabaga is not a
Democrat.
March 20, 2010 at 4:35 am
Hey, I have no choice when it comes to voting. In my country it is compulsory.
Tamara – good job. :)
March 19, 2010 at 8:58 pm
Whoops….cool yer jets there. Many of us vote in EVERY election, small and large, including my husband and myself.
March 19, 2010 at 9:01 pm
You’re yelling at the wrong group.
March 19, 2010 at 7:57 pm
I read on Power Line an interesting take on Brad Ellsworth coming out with a yes vote. The postulate he would be a the top of the list of allowed no votes. He is going to run for Senate in Indiana for Evan Bayh’s seat. A yes vote will doom him and the DNC must know that. If they have need his yes vote, they a desperate.
March 19, 2010 at 8:00 pm
He will NEVER win Indiana.
Whatever his vote is.. he wont win Indiana.
March 19, 2010 at 9:49 pm
shhhh – don’t tell him that – we need his ‘no’ vote
March 19, 2010 at 10:19 pm
Hahahahah
the ba$tard already announced he was a yes this afternoon.
March 19, 2010 at 8:00 pm
Nancy and others deluded can deem (pretend) all they want, we are still going to know who voted for this bill. We will soon find out how cheap/expensive they sold out the American people and their tawdry little selves. Patriots, not in this group of Democrats except for a small minority. Republicans continue to fight the good fight. We will help them every way we can. I am a registered Dem who will be voting Republican from here on in. We Hillary supporters were thrown under the bus long ago, I wouldn’t want to be associated with Obama and thugs anyway. Yuck Obama, Pelosi and Reid.
March 19, 2010 at 8:02 pm
It is times like these that I wish I was a person who lived in denial…then I think that they would probably deny me healthcare for that and snap myself back into reality.
I have never wanted to curse like a sailor so much in my life…
March 19, 2010 at 8:16 pm
I know. I wish profanity was allowed on this site. At least today.
March 19, 2010 at 9:00 pm
I agree….and I don’t even use profanity;) …. but I think once we started, we’d have a hard time stopping, so we’re probably better off not going there!!:)
March 19, 2010 at 9:46 pm
Ha! Let it out! Go into a closet and say all of those words that you’ve been dying to use.
Then say a prayer, and get back to the work of fighting for your country.
March 19, 2010 at 8:06 pm
San Diego is holding a Flash Protest/Tea Party tomorrow, in conjunction with the DC event. As are about 90% of the other Tea Party groups we know in the region.
We will be preparing contingencies for all possible outcomes. Anyone in the Southern California region might want to check here:
http://templeofmut.wordpress.com/2010/03/19/san-diego-flash-protest-this-saturday-mar-20-at-10-am-no-longer-about-obamacare-but-the-us-constitution/
March 19, 2010 at 8:06 pm
Well, I for one remain optimistic. Maybe because I’m avoiding all the eeyores in the MSM and blogospere. I’ve been following the whip count at http://news.firedoglake.com/
So far here’s their count:
NO:209 LEAN NO:5
YES:202 LEAN YES:6
UNDECIDED: 10
NEEDED TO PASS: 216
This is not over. Don’t fall for the psyops warfare the Dems are waging. It will be close. But I still think this thing is not in the bag at all for the Dems. They have an uphill battle yet. They currently do not have the votes. They need 216. They don’t have them.
March 19, 2010 at 8:11 pm
UNDECIDED/UNKNOWN: Now at 9
March 19, 2010 at 10:07 pm
I agree. Dems are waging psychological warfare on the bloggers and Twitter people. This is not in the bag. But creating an air of inevitability could help them. Let’s not fall for it.
March 19, 2010 at 8:08 pm
I feel that this weekend will mark the beginning of the actual second Civil War. Secession will be openly discussed Monday morning. Coalitions will begin to form. All eyes will be on Texas. The regime in Washington has suspended the Constitution with the Demon Pass. The SCOTUS is an impotent joke. There will be only one branch. After this, the only way for states to exist under the Constitution will be to secede and form a new confederation, adopting the 1787 Constitution as the founding document and law of the new land. I’m not sure how the rest plays out, but I hope it involves Obama, Pelosi and Reid being frogmarched into custody in shackles to await trial for treason.
God, help us.
March 19, 2010 at 8:36 pm
Embrace the moment, don’t fear it. This is our moment in time. We’re all here for reasons we can’t even comprehend. I believe we are all here to WITNESS GREAT EVENTS. All through out history men and women have done great things And there were always witnesses to these great deeds. We are all witnesses!
March 19, 2010 at 8:47 pm
I think you are right Ernst. Just like hillbuzz said that it seems that the dems were born to chew through our constitution, I feel like I was born to be here too, not for greatness, but to be a member of the army of opposition.
March 19, 2010 at 9:35 pm
I love your post, Ernst. You give me hope, and your perspective is helping me to see things in a new way. Thank you for that.
March 19, 2010 at 10:09 pm
God love ya, Ernst – thank you for those wonderful words.
March 19, 2010 at 8:12 pm
Prayer still welcome and encouraged…

March 19, 2010 at 8:13 pm
Check out this video of an anti-obamacare ‘honking protest.’
http://patriotroom.com/
March 19, 2010 at 8:25 pm
AWESOME!!!
WOW!
March 19, 2010 at 8:59 pm
Thanks perries. I really needed that, and according to their information, they are 7 votes short. There is still hope.
March 19, 2010 at 8:18 pm
Why not a ‘honk if you oppose obamacare’ sign like in this video:http://patriotroom.com/article/honk-to-stop-obamacare-protest-32-seconds-of-noise
March 19, 2010 at 8:19 pm
oops – fixed:

March 19, 2010 at 8:47 pm
LOVE THAT!!!!
March 19, 2010 at 9:42 pm
I second the author of that post, “Wow, just fricken wow.”
Brought tears to my eyes. Going to email it now.
Thanks for posting this!
March 20, 2010 at 12:42 pm
Yeehaw! That’s MY Arizona!
March 19, 2010 at 8:21 pm
The Slaughter Solution is a poisoned chalice. By drinking from it, the Democrats would not only commit political suicide. They would guarantee that any bill signed by Mr. Obama is illegitimate, illegal and blatantly unconstitutional. It would be worse than a strategic blunder; it would be a crime – a moral crime against the American people and a direct abrogation of the Constitution and our very democracy.
It would open Mr. Obama, as well as key congressional leaders such as Mrs. Pelosi, to impeachment. The Slaughter Solution would replace the rule of law with arbitrary one-party rule. It violates the entire basis of our constitutional government – meeting the threshold of “high crimes and misdemeanors.” If it’s enacted, Republicans should campaign for the November elections not only on repealing Obamacare, but on removing Mr. Obama and his gang of leftist thugs from office.
Jeff Kuhner of the Washington Times
March 19, 2010 at 8:51 pm
I don’t think they will go the Slaughter solution. They are buying the votes instead from the remaining not 100% commie dems.
March 19, 2010 at 8:22 pm
my guess?
no it will not pass.
But, if they ram it thru, the public will revolt. States have already lawsuits ready to go.
If it passes with straight up and down. THE BACKLASH WILL BE SEVERE, the repeal movement will start immediately. States have legislation and ballot initiatives and lawsuits ready to go as well.
Either way, THIS IS NOT OVER.
Do you guys even know that yes the declaration of independence was signed on July 4th 1776, THE WAR WAS STILL BEING FOUGHT 5 FREAKING YEARS LATER!!!! George Washington was pretty much putting his entire life on hold, this is when the Delaware crossing story happened.
REMEMBER, SUNDAY IS NOT THE END OF ANYTHING IF THIS SHIT PASSES, IT IS ONLY THE BEGINNING.
How many Pumas are here online?
Have you forgotten what happened on May 31th, 2008?? Seriosuly, do these fools think we will forget this $hit they are trying to do to us in a mere 7 months???
March 19, 2010 at 8:52 pm
I will NEVER forget! November can’t come soon enough. I still consider myself a liberal democrat (of the Truman, FDR, Clinton tradition) but if voting republican come November is what it takes to stop this destructive madness that is destroying my country and my party then so be it.
March 19, 2010 at 11:22 pm
I am a true Republican and I appreciate your patriotism in choosing country over party.
March 20, 2010 at 4:44 am
three cheers. I am Australian. I appreciate that there are many Democrats who love their country. I applaud your stance.
Trust me…. what happens in USA has an impact elsewhere. This affects the world.
Dr. Utopia is a laughing stock right now.
March 19, 2010 at 9:09 pm
Great comment. Thanks for it.
March 19, 2010 at 8:22 pm
Sadly, I think it will pass and the lawsuits will fail. The courts have no history of interceding with how congress does it’s job. They look at it as seperations of power. They will only look at the law itself. Our real hope is not funding it in the future.
There are many things that are passed but then never funded. Unless the republicans totally screw up, they will be in the majority in the house, and may take over the senate.
Which is why I think that it will pass. They see the handwriting on the wall. They know that they are going to lose, so they may as well go for it. This is the holy grail to progressives.
I went to the little pep rally Obama had today, and the audience there was lapping it up. I live in area that is full of progressives and they are still madly in love with him.
March 19, 2010 at 8:30 pm
I hate to be blunt, but this such eeyorism.
I really don’t care if they ram or pass it straight up or down.
This is not some short term fight.
I saw on May 31th 2008, votes outright stolen from one candidate to another. I have not forgetten that nor will I forgive it, and that was 2 years ago!
After that, I swore I would campaign and work as hard as I could for conservative, I voted and donated to Bob Mcdonell and then with scott brown.
Stop the eeyorism!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Either decide we are going to do everything possible to stop it now, or if it is rammed thru, do everything for however long IT TAKES to break it up into little pieces.
That is the choice. You can make a choice to live with this or not.
Freedom is not free nor is it easy.
(I am not ranting agn this poster, I am just strongly urging everyone to start thinking long term if that is what is needed to stop these fools.)
March 19, 2010 at 9:21 pm
I’m with you ssmith. This is not over no matter what happens on Sunday. I haven’t given up. I love this country and my kids too much to give up this easily.
March 19, 2010 at 11:53 pm
Me too ssmith.
Remember, Just a Conservative…we are in uncharted territory here. We’ve got a socialist for a president and our congressional majority is “hope-mo-tized”. It’s quite a perfect storm.
The courts will not have a choice but to take the cases. The constitutional lawyers are preparing the cases and will go all the way up to the supreme court. Now lets hope none of them leave because we have some pretty thoughtful conservative men on that court.
But before we get to that point, let’s take a breath and pray that we don’t have to get to that point. Our fates are joined together and we are all in God’s hands now.
March 20, 2010 at 4:48 am
You have a Marxist-Maoist-Stalinist President.
Germany has a Socialist President… sort of ….
March 19, 2010 at 8:50 pm
How would you be able to get into a rally for Obama? Are you a member of SEIU or ACORN?
March 19, 2010 at 9:11 pm
there were about 30 of us that went to protest. One of which got thrown out by the secret service. It was open to the public anyone could have gone.
I was hoping he was going to take questions, but he didn’t. We went to ask him why he thinks that Americans don’t care about process.
I also don’t think this is over. It is going to be long ugly battle.
Ultimately, I think that Obama has done one good thing, he has opened the eyes of many people who otherwise didn’t pay much attention to the government and how it went about it’s business. That is the hope for change. People standing up and saying no.
They may not be listening right now, but eventually they will have to. The pressure will force them to.
March 19, 2010 at 9:21 pm
Open to the public? Now I KNOW that you’re lying.
You wouldn’t have gotten within 1000 yards of the President.
March 19, 2010 at 10:13 pm
It was open to the public – I got the notice from the Richmond VA tea party on Wednesday asking us to go because it was open to the public. I wasn’t able to go to DC but I know some people here who went.
March 19, 2010 at 10:17 pm
Hi. I know JACG, we have been blogging together as conservative blogroll buddies for over a year now. She is for real. Click her name and see her blog. She has pictures she took herself from today’s rally. And while most patriots could not handle being in Obama’s vicinity, she bravely went there, leaving her infant child at home. She went with the thought of “Knowing Thine Enemy” in the great tradition of Sun Tzu. You may not agree with her Eeyorish position and that is fine. But she is a for-real conservative blogger and one of the best and most sincere writers on the internet.
March 19, 2010 at 9:12 pm
There isn’t enough money in the world that could get me to an Obama pep rally. I would vomit first.
March 19, 2010 at 9:33 pm
Me neither.
I would NEVER go to an Obama rally.
March 19, 2010 at 9:43 pm
Tamara, the meeting today was open to the public. Het got 8000 in a 10000-person space. Couldn’t even fill it!
March 19, 2010 at 9:49 pm
You mean 800?
This guy has to PAY people to come see him speak. Open to the public?
PULEEEZE.
March 19, 2010 at 9:01 pm
Your use of “I live in area that is full of progressives…” gives you away, my dear troll.
Conservatives NEVER use the word “progressive” … we use: liberal, Nazi, Commie, marxist, 0bama-bot, baby-killer, etc.
You morons are so easy to spot …
March 19, 2010 at 9:38 pm
Good call Billy
March 19, 2010 at 11:13 pm
I dunno. I use the word “progressive”, and I’m a right-ish libertarian on the Nolan chart — basically, what most people would call “conservative”.
“Progressive” is, after all, what Statists called themselves at the beginning of the 20th century, too. It’s a word with history behind it (see Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism).
Woodrow Wilson, FDR & his gang, Margaret Sanger, the technocrats, the central planners, they were all progressives. Progressives had a mass-crush on the Communists and Nazis. Progressive women used to swoon over Mussolini.
Why shouldn’t a town full of progressives be just eating up ObamaCare? Progressives really are like that. It sounds like the truth to me.
March 20, 2010 at 4:54 am
Just on the same point… when I was in USA in July last year… and on the train…going upstate New York then into Canada – to Montreal – I observed one town (the train stopped there) where it seemed that everybody at the station, waiting for people to get off the train were “progressives for Obama”. they still had stickers all over their cars….
March 19, 2010 at 9:05 pm
I disagree. Clinton v. New York is an example of where the courts got involved.
March 20, 2010 at 4:55 am
exactly right… Clinton vs New York… and I think that Clinton lost that one.
March 19, 2010 at 11:01 pm
Boy are these liberal trolls getting sloppy in their posts.
Go back to DailyKolostamy and writhe around in one another’s socialist filth.
March 19, 2010 at 11:37 pm
I repeat. JACG is NOT a liberal troll. She may be feeling a little down this weekend. Please cut her a little slack. I thought it was brave of her to go to Obama’s rally. Sun Tzu says to keep your friends close and your enemies even closer. She did the dirty work and has blog pictures to show for it. She was there and can dispute the MSM’s claim that there were 8K people there. There were not. The 10K arena was only half full.
Also, there are plenty of blog posts on her blog. Go and see what kind of blogger she is for yourself, click on her name. Instead of @$$uming.
March 20, 2010 at 1:32 pm
I did go look at her site, and I agree…let’s all be careful. Everyone is on edge, and we have to be united.
I don’t see a problem with going to see Obama. I force myself to listen to him every time he’s on TV…study his facial expressions, mannerisms, and yes, pay attention to what he’s saying! In this case, she was able to document visually that the arena wasn’t even full, which wasn’t what was shown on TV, so…good for her!
March 20, 2010 at 4:46 am
if you are a troll, then nice try but you are wrong.
There is a lot of difference between prior use of this same kind of rule and what is being attempted.
It is clearly unconstitutional. In fact if it goes to one court and loses, then it will go all the way to the Supreme Court.
Who says that the Supreme Court will not interfere? There will be sufficient grounds to take a very close look because of those very differences.
March 19, 2010 at 8:24 pm
OK, I thought you all need to see this. We were wondering if Stupak is planning to cave….
Stupak is reportedly trying to change the abortion language through a procedure called a “concurrent resolution,” but a parliamentarian expert told The Daily Caller that such a move would face huge hurdles.
The House would likely have to pass the Senate bill, and then hold it back from going to the president for his signature while they voted on the concurrent resolution. That resolution would then have to go through the Senate.
http://hotair.com/archives/2010/03/19/new-stupak-drama-pelosi-leaning-on-pro-choicers-to-make-a-deal/
Reading this tells us a few things:
1) If she has to even make a deal with Stupak, it tells us that she isn’t comfortable with the number of votes she currently has. Either she doesn’t have the votes people say she has, or she believes their support is soft.
2) Also Stupak appears to be trying to do what the Slaughter strategy was originally intended to do — namely, keep the bill out of Obama’s hands until after the Senate’s acted, which is the only leverage the House has over Reid to follow through. This is going to keep the bill from becoming law. We all know that the Senate is going to have a hell of a time in reconciliation, and this could mess them up. BIG TIME.
3) By even making any sort of deal with the Stupak group, she is making her pro-choice members angry. Which will also soften their support of the bill.
March 19, 2010 at 8:27 pm
Pro-choice members summoned to her lair and told one-by-one reportedly “visibly angry” upon leaving. Makes one wonder though. If the abortion thing was never an issue (as Nancy and iObama claimed REPEATEDLY) and it would not change how things are now, then WHY would said pro-choicers be “visibly angry”? Angry is reserved for when you are not getting something you thought you were.
And if Stupak falls for Pelosi kabuki in any way, shape, or form, he has NOT been paying attention.
Also, when is this press conference? Anyone know?
March 19, 2010 at 8:30 pm
I think it is tomorrow.
March 19, 2010 at 9:14 pm
You know, this is a wild hair of an idea but – the Stupak group could switch parties. After all, there seems to be no place for them in today’s demonic party. And if they switch parties – basically they would be heroes and get re-elected.
March 19, 2010 at 9:23 pm
Excellent thought Perries.
March 19, 2010 at 11:37 pm
I was wondering if he was working with the Republicans to kill the bill. That is why he is doing this deal…he knows the pro-choice women would raise hell and would kill the bill. Could they be working together?
March 19, 2010 at 8:25 pm
during the primaries, i ‘volunteered’ for bo, getting phone numbers and pretending i was calling. so, they have me on their list.
i just received an email from them, asking me to call my representative. well, i did, but i don’t think i gave the script they wanted me to follow.
the point is, they are using their stored files of internet users to push this thing through. this has convinced me that they absolutely do not have the votes.
and so, i am going to paste a copy of a list i got from another site of ’swing’ representatives. some of them have already declared. i would hope everyone calls at least some of them. and if you happen to be in one of their districts, even better.
here it is….

Does this not seem like a REALLY LONG list of people who are not a firm yes? And some strange names on here, like why call Kucinich? He’s declared and Markey. Those two at bare minimum jump out at me as to WHY they would be encouraging you to call them if they are already “firm yeses.”
March 19, 2010 at 8:49 pm
Alot of those people already are a yes.
Elssworth.. YES
Gutierrez.. yes
ect.
March 19, 2010 at 8:50 pm
Then why would they be encouraging people to call them? To thank them for their vote? Why would you disperse your pressure?
March 19, 2010 at 9:04 pm
Most just announced today.

The better qu qusestion would be; Is the DEM party American or not?
March 19, 2010 at 8:50 pm
No. It is Communist.
March 19, 2010 at 8:29 pm
My feeling is that praying without ceasing can help prevent Pelousy from getting what she wants. Pray that couple of Democrats that intend on voting “yes” mysteriously can’t make it to vote on Sunday because an otherworldly force has prevented them from doing so. Pray that these lawmakers have nightmares tonight and tomorrow night that shake them to their very cores, which then encourage many of them to defy Nancy and vote “no” whenever she calls the vote. Pray that a massive number of people show up in Washington DC to show their disapproval of this health care bill so that any Democrat who still has a conscience understands that he or she needs to vote “no”. Pray that Nancy Pelousy becomes incapacitated for a day on Sunday, and unable to explain why, she just gives up, and acknowleges that she has been misleading the public. Pray that electrical power is inexplicably shut down in the House with no ability to take a vote. Pray that Nancy’s numbers never reach the amount that is required to go forward. Have a prayer bomb at the top of each hour from
now through midnight Sunday, then sit back and watch the power of prayer. The power of prayer is very powerful, and it is the one thing that can stop the madness. Let’s see it work!

Prayed more in the last 2-3 days than I have since my wife almost died several years back.
Evil will lose.
March 19, 2010 at 10:11 pm
Last night I was crying for our country. Fear had its grip on my emotions. When I was 18, I went to Romania with the Greater Hartford Youth Orchestra. In those days, Romania was a Communist country. I was privileged to make friends with my tour guide and he told me what it was like living under Communism. I couldn’t believe that my country, the USA, would be on the brink of destroying our Constitution and becoming a Third World Country.
Today I worried that it might pass. Tonight I got down on my knees and prayed for God to forgive me for my sin and to forgive our country for its sin. I asked for mercy on our great country. I prayed that the eyes of the blind would be opened. I prayed that those who are lacking courage to do the right thing would be given courage to do the right thing. I prayed that those who have stated that they would vote yes would actually be vomiting tonight – not that they would be ill, just that they would vomit. I don’t know why that thought came to me, other than to think that vomiting is such an unpleasant experience that perhaps they will have second thoughts and vote no.
As I type this, I am feeling a sense of peace. I am aware that God judges nations for their sin. I also know that God has been known to withhold destruction for the sake of ten righteous people in the land. I know that there are many more than ten righteous people in our land.
The thought occurred to me that if this awful bill passes, and there is rationing of health care, then people may have no other option than to turn to God to be their Great Physician. It wouldn’t surprise me if we were to see miracles of healing on a scale not previously known to modern man. This could be the thing that brings about a Third Great Awakening.
Proverbs 29:2 says:
2When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when a wicked man rules, people groan.
May God grant that the righteous will rule the day on Sunday and beyond.
March 19, 2010 at 11:10 pm
Lets pray San Fran Nan would lose her mind and never get it back.
March 20, 2010 at 12:07 am
Well, since that “miracle” already happened…
We should pray that she wants to “spend more time with her family”…
March 20, 2010 at 5:10 am
Does she have a mind to lose?

Is it just me, or does this seem like the longest time since Obama was sworn in EVER? It seems like a lifetime since then. He and the dems have done more damage in 1 1/4 year than I ever would’ve dreamed anyone could do in 4. I feel drained and tired…..
March 19, 2010 at 9:01 pm
It has been a nightmare since day 1 of Hussein. Every day you fear learning what new outrage they’ve foisted upon us.
I RESENT spending this time in fear of the government rather than enjoying my life. They’ve severely disrupted my pursuit of happiness. Those days seem distant.

March 19, 2010 at 8:36 pm
I also read that Reid will not publicly release the names of the Senators that will support reconciliation in the Senate. Some say that he doesn’t have them….that is why. So will House members trust that the Senate will follow through?
March 19, 2010 at 8:38 pm
Would YOU trust the Senate at this point?
Well, would you?
March 19, 2010 at 8:40 pm
is Hairy Red just not releasing them to the public or to the House critters?
March 19, 2010 at 8:51 pm
It was a Roll Call article and it did not say. It said that Reid has the private assurances of Senators, but that they did not want to go public until the House has passed the bill.
The House doesn’t trust the Senate, and the Senate doesn’t trust the House.
March 20, 2010 at 12:09 am
And WE don’t trust either of them and their “leader”…
March 19, 2010 at 11:15 pm
Reid is full of you know what,he is the first one to go.

We’ll certainly know in the morning, but Nancy Pelosi is fast running out of options without members of the ubiquitous Stupak bloc.
Harry Teague, one of the few remaining undecided votes, will vote No again as he did in November, blaming cost controls.
“I had hoped to have a chance to vote on a bill that provided affordable health care options to all American families, but after reviewing the final health care reform proposal, I do not believe that the bill does enough to contain costs and it definitely does not do enough to rein in the out of control insurance companies that are driving up healthcare costs in this country,” Teague said in a statement.
“In fact, I believe we are doing more for the insurance companies than we are for the people who need this coverage, and that is why, despite the positive steps it takes, I must vote against this bill,” Teague said.
If you look at the numbers below, you understand why this is consequential. Teague puts the definite No votes at 210, with five leaners, four of them part of the Stupak bloc. There are only 8 undecideds left, and 208 Yes votes with leaners. So Pelosi would have to get all 8, including Stupak bloc member Kathy Dahlkemper, and hold Marcy Kaptur (who probably shouldn’t be a lean Yes). Failing that, she could try to flip Glenn Nye, or go to one of her committee chairs voting No (Ike Skelton, Collin Peterson) and ask them to walk the plank.
But that’s a very tough road. And so Pelosi is talking to Bart Stupak. Because there doesn’t look to be another option for passage. That may result in an annual standalone vote on choice in the exchange. It may result in some “tie-bar” legislation (although that is procedurally unlikely). But it’s almost certainly going to result in something.

I’m glad YOU can read firedog. That blog is so Leftist that it makes moderates look like Libertarians.
March 19, 2010 at 9:20 pm
firedoglake is pretty much the only whip count I’m following. I also read Dan Perrin at RedState. He is one of the few conservative optimists on healthcare from the get go. Dems need to run the table. I don’t think they will.
So I think ObamaCare goes down in flames and his presidency disintegrates in 2010. Just a prediction FWIW.
March 19, 2010 at 9:23 pm
From your mouth to God’s ears, Jane!
March 19, 2010 at 9:33 pm
I love Dan Perrin at RedState as well. The guy gives great insight as to what is going on within DC. He has kept many of us from losing our sanity over this mess.
March 19, 2010 at 9:39 pm
if the Rationcare rams thru, his presidency disintegrates even faster.
March 19, 2010 at 8:53 pm
I think SanFran Nan will be able to buy her votes and this fiasco will be rammed down the people’s throats.
I then believe that God will save us from ourselves, as He always has.
I don’t know how He will save us, maybe through state AG lawsuits, a SCOTUS challenge, or a civil war … but I do believe God will give us the means to preserve our freedom.
I really do believe that this is the path we are on.
March 19, 2010 at 8:59 pm
I agree. It will pass, but never be implemented.

Great article.

Wow – great piece. This really lifted my spirits!!! Thank you.

Dr. Utopia and buddies have awakened the Bear. And the Bear is ANGRY! The Bear will not be going back to sleep and will not forget come November.

Just the title of this articl is good enough for me. I feel just fine reading it. We the People will fight this fascist, corporate controlled Congress/dictator puppet in OUR White House/propaganda Lame Stream Media cabal tooth and nail. Whatever happens, the fraud loses. Either his demon krat party loses the vote on this illegal bill or he loses any faux, idol worshipping respect the sheeple had for him as they find out what’s actually in the bill.
Think how long it took the American Colonies to evolve into the USA. We must prepare ourselves to fight long and hard for our country–at least a generation.
I honor my country. I feel pride and chills every time I hear our national anthem, “God Bless America,” “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” “God Bless the USA,” or a roomful of people reciting the American Pledge of Allegiance.
I’m using my feeling to act on behalf of my country. I feel just fine, and I’m ready for the long haul. We the People, dig in and get busy.

Betrayed, tired, hopeful. In general agreement with Billy Pickle up there.
Sore, too. Crossfit hurts.
March 19, 2010 at 8:59 pm
Sort of off subject, but..
I was just watching Hannity and there is a dingbat liberal woman on the panel that just called a black Reverend a racist! Does it ever end?
However, the Reverend told the nutcase that he is black so obviously she is the racist..but I can’t be sure because a “break” was taken immediately and when Hannity came back on air, the panel was long gone and a new segment came on. How about that… interesting, no?
Back on topic. I think how many show up for the planned rally MAY have some influence on the fence sitters. If not enough representatives take heed but continue to ignore the people, I’m not holding out a lot of hope.
I spent most of this week calling and emailing. I can only hope and pray that enough others did the same thing to make an impact.
March 19, 2010 at 10:23 pm
I saw that! The guest, Mr. Bond I believe, said he now refers to the White House as,Big Mommas House!
It was funny in a sad sort of way, I guess.
You wanna know what I feel?
I feel grateful that Barry Soetoro(who ki!!d D0ald Y0ung?)

Like never before in OUR lifetime.
UNITED against a heartless, thug acting, cold blooded machine. AND WE WIIL PREVAIL IN THIS FIGHT!
And you wanna know what else? IT FEELS DAMN GOOD, TOO!
COMMUNISTS SUCK! Born losers. Die that way, too!
BTW-Is George Soros dead yet?

Guys… I spoke with the AZ’s gov’s office… after her appearance on Fox this afternoon, and I asked can a ballot initiative be possible to stop this chit, these mandates?
and I was told yes, I am going to inquire about this in VA.
For a question to appear on the ballot, it requires a certain number of signatures, if states so this, and PEOPLE vote NO. The courts will be very very very very hard pressed to overturn the will of the people.
If someone can please send this info to the Tea Party orgs.
I am researching this for my home state of VA. VA’s leg. meets for 2 times per year, if they can get this done right before the novmeber elections, then not only VA’s laws do not allow this chit, but the people/voters would have defnitely spoken as well.
March 19, 2010 at 9:38 pm
The local tea party for the Loudoun/Fairfax, VA areas can be contacted via Ron Wilcox, who I’ve already contacted.
Their website: http://www.northernvirginiateaparty.com/
List of tea parties in VA: http://www.reteaparty.com/teaparties/?s=virginia
I haven’t yet had the opportunity to work with him directly; all I have at this point is my subscription to NOVA Tea Party’s mailing list. I’ve already passed the information/idea on to him.
March 19, 2010 at 9:50 pm
JT… thank you!!!
When I called AZ’s governor’s office, they told me in AZ, there are 2 ways to get a ballot initiave.. a set number of signatures or a legislative directive.
Not sure what the rule is in VA, signatures will not be hard to get, people are pretty pissed in VA, and if it takes a legislative directive, that should not be hard either, considering that they just passed a NO federal mandate rule.
Yes, thank you again for passing this info on.
I will continue to inquire on how to make this happen, and keep you updated, please let me know what the VA tea party people say as well.
March 19, 2010 at 10:07 pm
I should be thanking you. Feels good to have a plan.
March 19, 2010 at 11:46 pm
I got a response (REAL fast) from the NOVA crew, Ron particularly. He’s passing the idea on to people who know about these things (I’m paraphrasing).
He also mentioned two things they’re working on (his words):
“We passed the Healthcare Freedom Act recently and it is the law of Virginia. We are also pursuing the identical Healthcare Freedom Amendment which takes two cycles of legislatures to pass.”
Not quite as good as killing O-Care, but it’s some protection. About as much protection as the California potheads have, but we still have guns.
March 19, 2010 at 11:21 pm
ssmith, I don’t know who your delegate is, but mine is a conservative. I think he would support a ballot initiative (assuming that one is available). AG Cuccinelli’s office might be able to offer us some advice on how to get this started, too.
March 19, 2010 at 9:02 pm
I, too, am feeling sick to my stomach. I’d give ObamaCare about a 75% chance of passing… one way or the other.
I’d say the odds of it being thrown out in court are tiny. I’d say a repeal is risky too: given the mood of the country, repeal should be possible; given the realities of the political process, repeal is unlikely.
Still, when a thing is awful enough, you fight tooth and nail for even a small chance at stopping it. A 25% chance of avoiding ObamaCare is not nothing, particularly considering how bad ObamaCare would be.
If you caught a horrible disease, and the only cure worked only 25% of the time, you wouldn’t say no to it just because it had a 75% chance of failure. 75% failure is better than 100% failure, which is what we’d surely get if we weren’t fighting.
So… Keep fighting…
I’ve sent nearly 400 faxes in the past week to representatives and their donors, not including mass-faxes done through a mass-faxing service, and tonight I’ll send some more. (The reason for my high fax volume is that I stammer when I talk to strangers on the telephone in a high-pressure situation, and so I tend to avoid calling Congressmen. Also, I can’t bring myself to lie about my ZIP code on House e-mail forms, and almost no representatives seem to accept e-mails from outside their district anymore.) I’ve signed petitions, donated money (maybe I should have donated more). Tomorrow I’m going to a protest…
For the first time ever, I am being a fiercely political animal, not because I enjoy it, but because I don’t want to look back and say I didn’t fight. This is too important to leave alone.
I am so grateful to have a place like Hillbuzz to visit during this time. All y’all — Boyz and commenters alike — are fabulous, a real blessing.
No matter how pessimistic we feel, we will be Happy Warriors till the end.
March 19, 2010 at 9:11 pm
DO NOT GIVE UP.
THE FIGHT DOES NOT END SUNDAY. EITHER WAY.
My family struggled to come to this country to escape socialism, it took them a few years to be able to come here.
I will not give up and nor should ANYONE ELSE on this board.
THIS IS A FIGHT FOR THE LONG TERM, will we tire? of course! The march will continue.
I look at this thing as a blessing. SO many people’s, even democrats/indies like me, have had their eyes now completely open to these radical freaks, and that disgust will not go away and will be fought all the way!
March 19, 2010 at 9:16 pm
ssmith:
Any time you are in Minnesota, call me.
I love your spirit, girl!
March 19, 2010 at 10:58 pm
Your spirit ain’t bad, either!
March 19, 2010 at 10:01 pm
Oh, I’m not giving up, ssmith. No risk of that. I’m b*tching & moaning a bit, but not giving up :-)
I’m not easily roused, but when I am (and boy, am I right now), I don’t back down. The politicians in Washington may cave, but I won’t.
I love your passion. We will fight all the way!
March 19, 2010 at 9:32 pm
And we WILL be warriors to the end, Xena.
Great post.
Keep up the fight!
March 19, 2010 at 10:02 pm
Thanks!

Sarah On Hannity right now.
March 19, 2010 at 9:06 pm
I am sorry… . She is on Greta.
March 19, 2010 at 9:33 pm
SHE ROCKS! I know for a fact she would not allowe herself to be BOUGHT OFF like the prostitutes in congress now!
March 19, 2010 at 10:15 pm
I know, she wouldnt sell out for anything!
I love her!
March 19, 2010 at 9:05 pm
This is what I warned against yesterday. Stupak may be against the abortion clause but without it he would *still* vote for the bill!!
So all Pelosi has to do is come up with some more trickery which she has plenty off as she just seems to pull it out of her *ss.
March 19, 2010 at 9:06 pm
I do appreciate that when conservatives get mad, they don’t just going around breaking things and getting drunk. They educate themselves, start working, start communicating, read, think, develop ideas……the statist have NEVER faced conscious, serious opposition in these United States. NOW THEY DO. Their Alinsky tactics are being used against them and aren’t working against us any more. They WILL have a meltdown. Don’t know when or where or to what effect. But they WILL have a meltdown…..maybe the boy king will resign. I need a break from the stress, so I’m just going to visualize that for a moment.
March 19, 2010 at 9:14 pm
I think there is a lot of truth in that and you won’t need to visualize it for long.
It’s going to all be okay. I have complete faith in the people of this country to keep their government in check. I even go so far as to believe that this is one of the best things that could have happened to us as a country. People are sitting up and paying attention, they’re taking action.
March 19, 2010 at 9:37 pm
I just have to ask–is that your cat in the photo?? Many years ago we had a black cat we called Charcoal who was about that fat and that relaxed. Love dogs and cats–each for different reasons…but I just LOVE that kind of fat-cat!!!
March 19, 2010 at 9:09 pm
A “call to arms” from Palin:
Please stay involved throughout the weekend on the Obamacare debate. There will be another very important rally in D.C. at noon on Saturday. If you are anywhere near the Beltway or can travel there this weekend, I urge you to participate. Jon Voight and Rep. Michele Bachmann and many others will be there.
Click here for details. (Michelle Malkin has a link here to grassroots organizers setting up transportation to D.C.).
If you can’t attend the rally, you can still make your voices heard by calling and writing your Representative. Sign the petition here to remind Congress that “November Is Coming.” As Rep. Boehner said today, “Republicans can’t beat this bill, but the American people can.” Stand strong together!
The implications of Obamacare will reach into every aspect of our lives, from the value of our paycheck, to the quality of our health care, to the opportunities that will be stripped from Americans as we’re shoved under the enormous burden of more government growth and control. We must stop this now. “United We Stand, Divided We Fall.”
- Sarah Palin
March 19, 2010 at 9:20 pm
Oh one thing I plan to do and hope ya’ll can as well. If you’re in any public place that one of these sleezeballs is in (their family as well) make them feel the heat. Make sure everyone else knows who they are and what they did. I don’t care if I make a fool of myself, it’s worth it to get my country back. I hear that happened to the Nebraska slime and his wife was pretty ticked she couldn’t go out anywhere.
March 19, 2010 at 10:07 pm
Yep…this is part of my plan…scorn and ridicule.
March 19, 2010 at 9:12 pm
Don’t worry, if it passes, we will sill defeat it. We are not the french.
WE HAVE SARAH!
March 19, 2010 at 10:59 pm
WE HAVE OURSELVES!

Here’s a piece on the status of things, including Stupak:
Democrats Woo Abortion Foes in Push for Health Bill
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/20/us/politics/20health.html?partner=rss&emc=rss
March 19, 2010 at 9:14 pm
Different topic, but did you hear Obama has instructed that Acorn funding be restored. Read it at Big Government.
March 19, 2010 at 9:18 pm
Stupak is going to be on Greta in a couple minutes. I doubt he’s going to “tip his hand”, but who knows?
March 19, 2010 at 9:18 pm
My thoughts… by hook or by crook they will be able to pull this off. I’m hoping that some dem just tired of all the arm twisting has said yeah, I’ll vote for it but secretly they won’t and then yay for all of us and they will be a hero!
But if that doesn’t happen this IS what will happen… it has to go back to the senate, they may like us all to think it goes to obumbles but it doesn’t, because of the reconciliation bit. Since it’s back in the senate the pubs can amend and amend and amend until their hearts content. They could amend right past nov and until Jan when it will be safe again. Now if the dems manage to find a work around, this is a whole new ball game and the senate may not pass it, there have been a lot of rumbling that way. But they still have to vote on it. But if they do pass it, there have now been changes and it goes back to the house… Now we’ve had more time to work on our reps and it’s going to sit in both houses for a very long time, past nov, until Jan. And then we are safe.
At least that’s what I think will happen. And there is the court thing as well, but it seems like no one really knows what will happen with that and then of course we could always call a Constitutional Congress, but I think we all don’t want that to happen! There is hope, after all didn’t obumbles say that?
March 19, 2010 at 9:45 pm
If the bill passes the House on Sunday, Obama can sign the bill because both houses have agreed to it. It becomes law. The House “thinks” they are going to have reconciliation in the Senate, but that isn’t going to happen because Obama has his bill.
The Senate can delay all it wants to, but with the bill already signed, Obama has the healthcare bill he wants, and the House Democrats are screwed.
March 19, 2010 at 10:14 pm
The House Bill which may be voted on using the Slaughter Solution (which was approved earlier this week) is a “reconciliation” bill, but it also contains the Senate Health bill, which the House bill will “deem” passed. If this happens, Pelosi can simply strip out the deemed passed Senate bill and send it to Reid who in turn can send it directly to Obama for signature into law. No Senate vote or reconciliation is required in this case. Then the Senate could take up the rest of the House bill, and use the reconciliation process to approve that-but I really doubt they will do that since they don’t really like the House amendments anyway. So the House will have approved the Senate Healthcare, and will in all likelihood never get their amendments. Those House members who rely on the Senate assurances within their own party are suckers, as well as traitors to the American people.
March 19, 2010 at 11:51 pm
Unfortunately, I have to agree with Doris, it will be law if it passes on Sunday. And I read somewhere (I can’t remember where now, I’m sorry) that the Repubs will have to have each amendment scored by the CBO before it can be presented and supposedly the CBO is “backlogged” with all the crazy goings-on in the House. Whoever wrote the article said that the Repubs won’t be able to offer many amendments because of this rule. *sigh*
But hopefully the piece of junk will go down in flames on Sunday so that none of this is even a worry!

btw… I cannot stand Huckabee… cannot stand this man.
March 19, 2010 at 9:23 pm
He sure would be better than Oblahblah….
March 19, 2010 at 9:35 pm
I do not like him either. He is making jokes and playing games while the damn country burns. Sarah is all business and attacking Obama and his cronies!
The men in the GOP need to grow a pair!
March 19, 2010 at 9:52 pm
Can’t stand him either, ssmith.
He will never run for President, so don’t worry.
He likes his little Laurence Welk show on Fox.
March 19, 2010 at 11:53 pm
“Lawrence Welk show on Fox”
HAHAHA! I love it!
March 19, 2010 at 11:31 pm
Huckabee makes me queasy, too, ssmith. (Shudder)
He’s not a limited-government guy, more like a Christian Statist. And Christian or secular, a Statist is a Statist.
Honestly, I’m not sure if Huckabee would be that much better than Obama.
March 19, 2010 at 11:44 pm
Let me add my vote to the “can’t stand Huckabee” list. He has one interest. . .himself.
March 20, 2010 at 1:57 am
HE IS WIMPY AND GOOFY– NOT PRESIDENTIAL!!!
March 19, 2010 at 9:22 pm
I feel like we have a dictator now. I think Obama is going to feel invincible and the mask will come off and they are going to laugh in everyone’s face and tell us they won…F*** you.
It’s going to take revolution and drastic measures to get these leeches out of our government. And I think they will get it.
I tried to find a bumper sticker today that said IMPEACH CONGRESS and IMPEACH OBAMA and every google search lead to “We are so overwhelmed with orders there is a six week+ backlog in orders”….
We are headed for a lot of unrest in this country.

Gene Simmons of KISS… HATES the rationcare bill. Telling congress not to vote for this POS bill
March 19, 2010 at 9:25 pm
and shocker!
he voted for the Marxist Messaih.
and HATES this POS bill
March 20, 2010 at 12:45 am
I can’t watch it. Does he hate it because it doesn’t go far enough, or because of loss of freedom?
March 19, 2010 at 9:25 pm
I am feeling dumbfounded—that our wonderful country is in the hands of a bunch of lunatics.
I am feeling sad that my 3 children will have to face the consequences of this administration’s failures.
I am feeling sick that our freedoms…our Constitution seems to mean nothing to this administration. Seeing Obama wear the American flag pin turns my stomach.
I am feeling like this bill (whatever it is, since I doubt anyone can really say what is in it) will pass on Sunday. I will be in church, praying to God, and remembering that He is in control. That will make me feel at peace at least.
March 19, 2010 at 11:01 pm
Believe me, you’re not alone. I think we’re all in a state of shock and disbelief. The good news is that we’re not allowing these feelings to stop us from taking action.
March 19, 2010 at 9:27 pm
There is a letter signed by 130 economists saying the healthcare bill will be harmful for the economy. Rep. Boehner has it on the minority leader website: http://republicanleader.house.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=176995
I hope it might give democrats support for a “no” vote.
March 19, 2010 at 11:33 pm
Maybe those of us who can afford it should mass-fax the economists’ open letter to every congressman.
Even if they’ve already seen it before, the fact that ordinary citizens are sending this letter themselves might send a message.
March 19, 2010 at 9:30 pm
My thoughts? If this is passed this weekends, I can’t imagine what the congressional Easter is going to be like. We think that they may be afraid of not be re-elected. Well, there is anger building up like I’ve never seen before. Ever. Most of these people will take out their anger in the ballot box. But there are always some who let their Winchesters speak for them. And then there are those who don’t get violent, but… there will almost certainly be a lot of “shunning” at the LEAST everywhere these traitors to America go in their home states… maybe even a little moisture gob might land from one mouth to another face. I don’t know. I can only imagine. But the level of anger is so high right now that I think these guys have more to be afraid of then just not be re-elected. There is a “powder keg” of anger that is about to explode; and if this is passed it’s going to be throwing a firebrand onto the powder keg…
March 19, 2010 at 9:44 pm
I agree and have thought that ever since they started talking about having to get this done before the Easter break. Do they not know what they will face if they go home?
March 20, 2010 at 12:27 am
They’re all headed for the Cayman Islands or some other “spring break” kind of place. I would bet they will not be in their home states.
March 19, 2010 at 9:32 pm
Gov. Jan Brewer of AZ… just told the dems .. NO DEAL and her state aint’ doing this chit!
March 19, 2010 at 9:49 pm
Thanks for posting this. I am not a real fan of our governor, but on this I support her.
March 19, 2010 at 10:01 pm
Woohoo! So glad I am moving to AZ in 2 months! Can’t wait to get away from The People’s Republic of Maryland!
March 19, 2010 at 10:46 pm
So, according to the video, the Arizona Attorney General has refused to file the lawsuit? Did I understand that part correctly? If so, he must be a Democrat.
March 19, 2010 at 11:43 pm
He is, Terry Goddard is a Democrat. And rumored to be running for Governor this fall.
March 19, 2010 at 10:46 pm
I hope to God that she’s not blowing smoke and that 38 governors really are going to bring suit against the feds regarding this.
What she describes is true, but are they really going to back it up?
March 19, 2010 at 9:33 pm
well… hate to be an eyore.. I live in Michigan and as good as Stupak has been, you cannot trust him… I look for it to pass.. and then I look for the media to absolutely go nuts with excitement. But… just remember how down we all were the night of the election and how far we have come together…
March 19, 2010 at 11:03 pm
I think we’re all trying to stay strong and keep fighting while also bracing ourselves for a crushing disappointment. Either way, even in the fact of the hardest feelings, we will continue on and continue to fight. We have no choice. Anyone who loves their country must be politically active. Relentlessly.

Exactly.
March 19, 2010 at 9:38 pm
My mother grew up during the during the depression, with dying livestock, not enough to eat and barefoot. Then she was a teenager in during WWII.
Granted, she had her faults (some left scars) but she was strong, cold and stoic– but totally a survivor….and she told me about how when Pearl Harbor was bombed, they passed from the fear of starvation to the fear of war. Finally, she told herself that nothing happened that was predicted and being afraid wasted time and energy. She made herself not be afraid anymore.
That was how strong she was…
I remember living with roommates fresh out of college when the Iranian hostage crisis started and how frightened we were then, there was talks of war, nuclear bombs, you name it…. but it opened the door for Reagan.
I also remember that there were some very happy times with friends and family during those years. I married my first husband during that time.
I am not the cheeriest bulb on the tree, I struggle to find middle ground, and it is a struggle. That is where I am now, trying very hard not to let them steel a bit of whatever happy might find it’s way in right now. Nothing every happens as you think it will—- I have to keep reminding myself of that.

and anything else I missed.
March 19, 2010 at 9:58 pm
It’s interesting to me that you don’t mention 911 in that post. I didn’t live through the depression, and I barely remember the Iran hostage thing.
911 was the wake up call to pay attention. I woke up!
But America went back to sleep.
Now most of us are awake.
Other than the cattle, chewing their cud.
We WILL find a middle ground EZ.
It’s called the constitution and freedom.
March 19, 2010 at 10:08 pm
I was older when 9-11 heppened…
It was heartbreaking, but it didn’t scare me (I don’t know why, maybe because there’d already been a bunch of deaths and losses in my family)…. but it wasn’t as pivotal as it was just part of finalizing my transition from liberal to conservative.
And yes, I kept remembering my mother’s mantra.
March 19, 2010 at 9:48 pm
Like many others here, I fear that it will pass through some corruption of the process.
But at the same time, I am praying that the members of Congress will remember their oaths and the people that they represent. How many November voters reported here that they went into the booth intending to vote one way, but when it came to marking that vote, they just couldn’t do it?
I am praying that this weekend God will touch the hearts of those elected to represent the people.
I have long believed that the American people are fundamentally solid, and that they will reject these attacks on their country and the Constitution. I want to believe they will rise up against this. (But a part of me is afraid. If they don’t, heaven help us!)

I am sorry that I don’t name call, it is not my style.
What is Clinton V. New York – Is that on point to what could happen to this bill?
March 19, 2010 at 10:05 pm
just read you went to protest today’s rally.
thank you!!!!
(just read that the Marxist Messaih couldn’t even fill a 10K stadium in at a college, they had to bring in dem activits to fill in the seats)
March 19, 2010 at 11:37 pm
Clinton v. City of New York is the case where SCOTUS said that the line item veto is unconstitutional. It’s a little different than the Slaughter House Rule situation, though, because it involved a question of Constitutional process between two separate branches (Executive and Legislative). With Slaughter, it’s a question of process between the two houses of the same branch (Legislative). Not sure if the courts will intervene or not. They might decide that they will not intervene because it is a “political question”.

I had this great little fantasy today: Several of the Democrats who have opposed this in the past but are now being considered “yes” votes are letting people go right on thinking that so a vote will be called. Then they vote “no” in the name of liberty, the unborn, and the American people. Dream on, not going to happen. I know. But it was a lovely few minutes of reverie.
In reality, I do think that they will get it through, one way or another, and will use further steps, smoke and mirrors to try to take it even further after that. I don’t want to be an eyeore. I want to be wrong! We need to keep fighting with hope no matter what.
It’s just that people of this ideological ilk have been working on this “fundamental transformation of America” for decades, and have never had the stage set as favorably as now to shove into place a huge keystone of the new structure. That’s not a point when people give up. They will do ANYTHING.
I think the pro-abortion “language” will also come to fruition one way or another, even if it’s later on through other pushes or tricks.Obama’s a hard core ideologue, in the pocket of Planned Parenthood and their entire mission. If he appears to abandon them in any way, it’s only an illusion and only temporary.
It gets intense if this legislation goes through, that’s for sure.
The good thing is that as long as We the People remain engaged in the fight, with faith and with the spirit of liberty alive, we can still have hope!

Ok everyone – a little bit of dark humor that’s making the rounds:
Now, let me get this straight……we’re trying to pass a health care plan written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn’t understand it,
passed by a Congress that hasn’t read it but exempts themselves from it,
to be signed by a president that also is exempt from it and hasn’t read it and who smokes,
with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes,
all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese,
and financed by a country that’s broke.
What the hell could possibly go wrong?
March 19, 2010 at 10:10 pm

On Friday March 19, 2010, 6:33 pm EDT
WASHINGTON (AP) — Congressional budget scorekeepers say a Medicare fix that Democrats included in earlier versions of their health care bill would push it into the red.
The Congressional Budget Office said Friday that rolling back a programmed cut in Medicare fees to doctors would cost $208 billion over 10 years. If added back to the health care overhaul bill, it would wipe out all the deficit reduction, leaving the legislation $59 billion in the red.
The so-called doc fix was part of the original House bill. Because of its high cost, Democrats decided to pursue it separately. Republicans say the cost should not be ignored. Congress has usually waived the cuts to doctors year by year.

Keep praying, all for the Glory that is our Lord. He is working on them right now!

Well, she converted an on the fence friend about her. The more she talks, the stronger she gets.
March 19, 2010 at 10:30 pm
I don’t know what is going to happen, but I tell ya…I’m SO tired of feeling anxious. I wish so badly I could go to DC tomorrow. My prayer is that a TON of people show up there but I’m not sure how many are up for it again. This one Tea Party guy I know just got back and is driving back up tonight. I honestly cannot figure out what he does for a living and can only assume he is independently wealthy somehow.
I’ve got four beautiful babies…well, they aren’t really babies, but to me they are. All I want is for them to have the same carefree childhood and bright future that I had. I can deal with any kind of emotional issues, first crushes, boys making fun of me, etc. I cannot look them in the eye and tell them…sorry, you have no future.
I’m also extremely happy with my husband. He told me tonight he heard that Suzanne Kosmas changed her vote to “yes” and he actually wrote a letter to her. This is something he has NEVER done. I read the letter and he did a great job. He is definitely getting some tonight!
March 19, 2010 at 10:40 pm
OMG your post brought everything to home.
Thanks.
Your kids will be fine, because we will fight to make it so.
And your husband is a doll.
I bet he will be smiling tonight, you little vixen. :)
March 19, 2010 at 10:47 pm
As I suspected, Pelosi doesn’t have the votes that is why she is going after Stupak. She needs him and their votes. But now she has another problem…and it is a big one.
Stupak Abortion Language to Be Substituted for Senate Language in Deal to Secure Health Care Votes
http://ow.ly/1oHrW
March 19, 2010 at 10:54 pm
Here is more details…
The deal calls for Stupak to have a vote on his amendment either before or after the House votes to confirm the Senate bill on Sunday. Stupak is confident that he has the votes to pass the measure, and is happy to have the vote after the House passes the Senate bill. He believes that by using a “tie bar” approach, his amendment would be “tied” to the health care bill — which would require just 51 votes in the Senate.
Pro-choice members of the House, however, are demanding that the vote on the Concurrent Resolution happen before the House confirms the Senate bill. If in fact it passes, they plan to vote against confirming the Senate bill. They want Rep. Diana Degette to release the names of the 41 cosigners to her letter who pledged to vote against any bill that restricts a woman’s right to choose, and they are angry that the White House has been whipping to push through the Stupak deal.
http://firedoglake.com/2010/03/19/stupak-abortion-language-to-be-substituted-for-senate-language-in-deal-to-secure-health-care-votes/
March 19, 2010 at 11:08 pm
Anything can happen, but judging from these new twists — really, this ugly thing has more wrinkles than some of Michelle’s dresses — tomorrow and Sunday there could be a sort of reprise of the dynamics of the House vote in November, though with the group of no votes coming from the left-wing of the Democrats being this time around large enough to sink the bill.
Stranger and stranger.
March 19, 2010 at 11:28 pm
Rut Roh!!!
Down thread, I posted ‘trouble in Utopia…’ and then I saw your FDL link and followed it.
Wow!!! Do I feel better…because the circular, Democratic firing squad has assembled.
No doubt evoking St. Joseph once again, SanFranNan has cut a deal with pro-life Joe Stupak…but, like Rush Limbaugh had said all along…abortion WAS IN ObamaCare if not, the prochoicers would be screaming…
Well…their screams are pretty loud and clear. Without protecting choice…there are about MORE pissed off liberal Democrats WHO NOW PROMISE NOT TO VOTE for Obamacare (as they see women thrown under the Barky Bus); without the Stupak ‘NewAmendment’ the prolife crowd won’t vote for ObamaCare either…what’s a false, undocumented Messiah worshipper to do?
So…could this be that ‘hand of the Divine’ I was mentioning down thread??? Because, to little ole Catholic moi, it seems that after bringing the earthly father of Jesus into the fray, the wheels of the ‘run over anyone in our way bus’ came off tonite, for the quasi-Catholic Mrs. Pee.
Tomorrow…Barky, in all his superior, narcissitic ways…(and it will be a beautiful Saturday in DC/Camp David…and no golfing for him!!!) will have stay in the White House to deal with the Democratic Congressional hoi polloi to get his ‘historic’ Bill passed.
And on Sunday, the Sabbath, in Lent…it will be the issue of the ultimate innocents that brings this down.
The circle is assembling, they are locked and loaded and aiming at each other…
March 19, 2010 at 10:50 pm
What a great, loooooong thread.
Here is my take. I DON’T THINK IT WILL PASS…because…dare I say…I have ‘hope.’
I trully believe that the hand of the Almighty has been ‘seen’ steering, quiding and ‘hope’fully this Sunday, smacking those who need it upside the head.
Memba folks…Chicago was SUPPOSED to get the 2016 Olympics, but the OIC gave a push back…
Cap and Trade and Carbon Trading (again, Chicago in the mix, with that Carbon Exchange) and a blizzard; surly, demanding delegates; and Hopenhagen was a bust.
The Obots FAIL (at times epicly) when they are supposed to have a slam dunk.
From wonky state dinners, to misguided vegtable gardens, to sudden blizzards, all ‘things’ they promote crash, burn, and fizzle, with a sense of Divine irony…that some force of nature, of the cosmos, is not amused by their antics.
There is soooo much double, triple, back door, front door, dealing going on. Dissent is palpable in all 57 states…Tomorrow Barky, with Harry Reid, and his triple top secret as to who signed it letter, will ‘corral’ ALL the Democratic House members…of which one leaked this nugget today:
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Medicare-fix-would-push-apf-2700343586.html?x=0&.v=2
All is not well in Utopia. Somebody who was trusted with this CBO projection decided (kinda like the kind soul at East Anglia University with AGW emails) that the Country ‘needed’ this knowledge.
My take…this will fail. And some handiwork of ‘Divinity’ will be seen…by those of us who believe that the Almighty has both a sense of humor and irony.
In a move that is still inexplicable to me (as a Catholic) Nancy Pelosi evoked the good name, and holiness of St. Joseph today…linking him to ‘workers,’ ‘health care’ and ‘abortion’ in one idiotic, quasi-Catholic skreed.
Now…my ‘faith’ is in the Saints…honest it is. They are passing this, blaspheming the faithful, betraying the sacrifices of generations who gave all to protect and defend our Constitution, on a Sunday, during Lent…
Who are ‘they’ to mock?
Epic Fail.
March 19, 2010 at 10:59 pm
As another Catholic, I believe too that God is watching out for us. And with the problems Pelosi is having getting the votes, especially with the Stupak people over abortion, I think God is showing us he is listening.
Don’t give up people. All is not lost. Keep fighting, praying, and keeping the good thoughts. We can still win this.
March 19, 2010 at 11:41 pm
I love your sense of humor, Mary Q-C. Your posts always make me smile.
March 19, 2010 at 10:50 pm
(Side 1)
Thanks to Pelosi, my health care will be better than yours.
(Side 2)
And cheaper, too.

Love that photo of Merlin. He is sooo cute.
March 19, 2010 at 11:00 pm
My take (which I just decided on just now):
Nancy thinks she has the votes, and then when it goes to the floor, people she had thought she had sufficiently bullied surprise her with a nay. Then the entire world gets to see her explode into a shrieking, thwarted ball of rage, from which display she will never recover. I suggest you all DVR it.
March 19, 2010 at 11:10 pm
OMG…I have had the same fantasy in the last 24 hours! Sort of like Survivor when you are sure you know how the vote is going to go and someone pulls a switch-a-roo and it’s big ol’ shocker! I hope and pray that this will happen. And the bonus of seeing Pelosi explode would just be icing on the cake!
March 19, 2010 at 11:11 pm
Yes, that is my fantasy exactly. In my version, though, I think the ones casting surprise “no” votes shout something like “For liberty and the American people, born and unborn!” after their vote. It would be wonderful drama. Sigh.
March 19, 2010 at 11:12 pm
How many of us had that fantasy re: the (un) Democratic convention….
March 19, 2010 at 11:12 pm
I like this a lot! May it be so.

I called Markey(CO)’s office here in Colorado and in DC today, several times. I finally asked about the Doc fix, they said it’s passed, so I asked them, so with how much that will cost and how much this bill is, it will be over a trillion dollars, RIGHT??? She didn’t have anything to say after that. I told her(aide) that they all in DC are living in LaLa land..
March 19, 2010 at 11:39 pm
I just had a thought. I’ve seen astroturfing at work here in Denver and it is the stock and trade of this bunch. Pelosi is having her Whip constantly counting votes. What if on Sunday they just don’t have the votes? Do you really think President Hopium really wants to have his nose rubbed in it after all of this arm twisting? The mood of the public is UGLY right now. The Capitol’s phones have been clogged for four days. Pure hell awaits a lot of Members of Congress when they return home to their districts for Easter.
What if come Sunday there is no vote? These guys are swimming in the River Styx right now.

Hang in there y’all. : )

I’m having this vision that tomorrow, when all the protestors convene at high noon at the Capitol, that they will start singing the Ray Stevens song, “We the People.”
Go over to You Tube and listen to it again.
“If you vote Obamacare, we will vote you outa there. We the People…”
Good luck and thank you to all who can go to DC this weekend.

Followed up with Caribou Barbie
March 20, 2010 at 12:21 am
I wish I could be in DC tomorrow. What I’d love to see is hundreds of thousands of people surrounding the capital holding hands and praying while the vote is happening. Can you imagine the power of that? I know I and millions of Americans will be praying non stop until this nightmare is over in 2012.

Democrat Stupak is caving based on the following deal made with Pelosi. Sadly to say they will have the votes. They are wheeling and dealing throughout the night.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has made a deal with Rep. Bart Stupak in order to secure his vote and that of other anti-choice Democrats for the health care bill, which is scheduled to be voted on this Sunday. According to a member of Congress who was briefed on the matter, Pelosi has agreed to let Stupak have a vote on his amendment either before or after the House votes to pass the Senate bill. It instructs the Senate to substitute the language in his amendment for the Senate language on abortion.
FDL has obtained a copy of the concurrent resolution (PDF1, PDF2, PDF3, PDF4), which includes cosponsors Marion Berry, Sanford Bishop, Joseph Cao, Kathy Dahlkemper, Steve Driehaus, Marcy Kaptur, Dan Lipinski, Alan Mollohan, and Nick Rahall. A second source confirms that with the exception of Cao, these are the members of Congress who are still on the fence. Cao is still considered a firm “no” vote.
March 20, 2010 at 1:22 am
Hope the girls demand the vote to be first and get it. I don’t think (I’m hoping) Repubs will vote with Stupak on this – they’ll vote present instead of yay or nay. Hey, even nay would be great. When Stupak’s legislation fails, he and his group will be forced to vote no.
If Stupak demands his vote to be after the senate bill vote, then he’s a moron.
Anyway, I think this is all for show by the pro-choicers and Pelosi. No way would Pelosi jeopardize the pro-choice votes for Stupak’s measly 10 or so votes.
This whole thing smells fishy.
March 20, 2010 at 1:24 pm
Why do you call them anti-choice?
March 20, 2010 at 12:59 am
Good for us! By the way, I attended every one of them held at the capital and each time the crowds doubled in size. Can’t wait for April 15th.
March 20, 2010 at 1:45 am
If Pelosi goes through w/ the vote on Sunday she has the #’s. Maybe, there are some good Dems w/ a soul that will stand up to the Leftists! Alas, I fear the time of moderate Dems is passed!
March 20, 2010 at 1:55 am
It’s nearly 3am DC time and Stupak’s DC fax is still busy. I wonder if there’s some sort of late-night dealing going on…
I hope not. Pray there isn’t!
March 20, 2010 at 6:05 am
Call me an eternal optimist. In my heart of hearts, I believe this bill will fail. As much nastiness as we have seen these past two years, I still refuse to believe that there are 216 house members who hate this country so much that they will vote to send us into socialist hell. The first vote last fall was easy — it was the first step in what they probably imagined would be a long negotiating process. It is real now. Even if there 216 votes to pass this, I have faith in the American people to fight — through lawsuits and elections and other legal means — to keep Obamacare from becoming a reality. Regardless of what happens on Sunday, the fight is not over.
March 20, 2010 at 8:29 am
I would wonder how Pelosi can look at herself in the mirror, but I remember that that she has no reflection
March 20, 2010 at 12:13 pm
LOl!!!!!! Nice one.
March 20, 2010 at 9:11 am
As of the time of this post: Votes are still not there, 209 or 211, the evils need 216. The 215 total will send them all home. Come all double up the prayers!!
March 20, 2010 at 11:43 am
Well peep’s’ the only way I see that we can stop all this spending, and to get this damn congress to listen to the American people, is to “TAX REVOLT”– No one pay your income Tax’s….” I know that asking US to break the law’ and puts a lot of folk’s in a very scary place– but’ it would work..”
Take away the fund’s that they are counting on to pay for all this BS– Middle America and out Tax dollar’s….! The well went dry congress,,,,” you b@#dards…..!
March 20, 2010 at 12:29 pm
Tamara,
Perhaps you are proud of the effectiveness of the Republicans in Congress. I am not. Maybe you like incumbents who remain in Congress for life. If conservatives voted in Primaries, all the Republicans in Congress would be conservatives. They are not. At most there are 2 conservatives. That means the Republicans who won the Primaries (& the General) were voted in by a tiny number (usually 18% or less of registered Republicans) by RINO voters. Which means conservatives voted at a rate of about 8% or less in the Primaries. D you think that’s working out well for America? I don’t. Same thing goes for the Democrats in the Primary. People wait until November to vote. The Primary is controlled by a tiny number of people who personally benefit from the incumbent, and that is where the real choice is made. In the General you have to pick from the candidates who won the Primary. Think about it. Until we own up to our own role in this debacle, nothing is going to change.
March 20, 2010 at 2:31 pm
Amen. The primary is where the real vetting should AND must occur.
March 20, 2010 at 1:09 pm
They just reported at the codered rally in DC the Dems don’t have enough votes!
March 20, 2010 at 3:44 pm
I don’t have a feeling on it, per se. My feelings are in suspense.
I do have a sobering awareness that even if they don’t pass it this time, they will surely try again.
We have to win time after time after time. They only have to win once.
