Variety’s reporting on Sarah Palin’s Alaska travelogue show with Mark Burnett — it looks like it will air on either A&E or the Discovery Channel.
The Discovery Channel has always felt like the best fit for this show, since the network already successfully produces shows like “Deadliest Catch” and the Ice Truckers series in Alaska. They also have an excellent reputation for quality, which is what we expect from any Sarah Palin project.
Personally, we’re thrilled this travelogue looks set to go to series. It’s been a dream of ours of someday going to Alaska and visiting all the places Palin talks about in her book, Going Rogue. Logistically and financially, that doesn’t seem possible in the near future, but we could do it vicariously through a TV show produced and hopefully narrated by Palin. Just imagine being able to experience Alaska with Sarah Palin herself as your guide, hopefully with plenty of appearances by Todd, Willow, Bristol, Piper, Track, and little Trig too.
We. Can’t. Wait.

I agree with the Boyz. I am SO looking forward to this series!
I think Alaska might be the most beautiful state.
And being geographically so far away, it’s almost like its own country.
The show could set off a whole ‘nother Gold Rush, only without the gold.
Just people wanting to get from the ‘lower 48′.
Go, Sarah!!!
March 18, 2010 at 4:10 pm
I will be watching and DVRing and buying on DVD when it’s available.
March 18, 2010 at 4:22 pm
It should be a nice adventure even if I have to view it from my tv screen.
March 18, 2010 at 4:49 pm
cannot wait for this, ratings should go thru the roof..heres rubbin it in the libs faces!
March 18, 2010 at 4:48 pm
I am really excited!
I LOVE AK. I am planning on my third trip there this year (a friend is getting married in Anchorage) and I can’t wait!
If you ever get the chance to go – don’t pass it up.

I’d be careful…they’re very, very liberal and most of their series are run by guys from the BBC. That entire “EARTH” project that sings about global warming is produced thru the BBC.
I don’t watch their shows or the History Channel’s because they do a lot of biased liberal slanting…especially the History Channel. I also don’t like the fact that they exploit people. 1000 pound teen, TREE MAN, shows about obesity clinics where 500 pound people sneak around eating twinkies…those Gosselin kids were exploited right out of a Mom and Dad….Terrible.
March 18, 2010 at 5:00 pm
Sarah needs to be careful. They have been caught producing fake reality shows…they even have tricked people into contracts and then sued them for not living up to the “lie” that they built around them. The little people community is one such group of people they used and exploited.
March 18, 2010 at 11:24 pm
Do you mean Discovery or A&E?
March 18, 2010 at 4:55 pm
Have thought about loading everything up and moving to Alaska…we are from Idaho/Wyoming so..not so different…unfortunately stuck in Indiana right now.

Boyz:
You’re welcome to stay with me if you want to come up and visit my beautiful state.

Check out this black christian anti-Obama Harlem church. This guy does more video rants than anyone and typically they skewer Obama “The Long Legged Mack Daddy”
Here is one titled “Stand up for Sarah Palin”
March 18, 2010 at 5:18 pm
Love Pastor Manning…
March 18, 2010 at 5:44 pm
Pastor Manning was a big Hillary supporter. He is as anti-Obama as they come. I am entertained by his videos.
March 18, 2010 at 5:18 pm
I do not watch much of the History Channel or the Discovery Channel. Too much “Reality TV” and too liberal slanted on the specials and shows. Life Without Humans – in other words what the Earth will be like once Humanity kills itself.
History Channel (A&E, Bio, ect) are owned by AETN which is a joint venture of The Hearst Corporation, Disney-ABC Television Group and NBC Universal.
Discovery Channel (TLC, Animal Planet, Oprah’s new channel and the rest) is owned by Discovery Communications which is now publicly traded but still has very close ties to the BBC, CBS and ABC television networks.
I refuse to be “preached” at in a documentary – I want to learn something interesting – not that they think that I am evil and a wrongdoer.
March 18, 2010 at 5:56 pm
Exactly what I was saying. They got busted for faking reality shows. And most of their documentaries are liberal slanted so I would be very, very suspicious if they are trying to lure Sarah Palin for anything…unless they want to mock her for money. Once they get a signed contract they have the right to do anything. A couple of families have been screwed that way.

Just got home and saw this from two threads down…
We lit the candles to pray for America
There are no atheists in foxholes, and you, hillbuzz, even though we don’t agree on a certain political couple, are welcome in mine.
The chips are down and we are all sitting in that hole trying to fend off the bombardment.
March 18, 2010 at 5:49 pm
Her most recent conversation with Sean Hannity was very strong.
Boyz, what’s up with the plan to go after the Dems’ donors? I put a lot of information about Boccieri’s and Kosmas’ in the two threads, but they (with all the links) haven’t yet cleard moderation. I’m gearing up to work on Scott Murphy’s (he really rakes in the cash, in comparison to them) — ought I to continue, or has it all been overtaken by the course of events?
March 18, 2010 at 5:57 pm
They STILL do not have the votes…the fight is not lost.
March 18, 2010 at 6:04 pm
That is true, thankfully! But for setting the wheels of the big donors in motion, so that the Reps get an earful, there may — it’s hard to tell — not be enough time left.
By the way, has anyone ever heard of such a thing as a Congressional vote taken on a Sunday?
March 18, 2010 at 6:30 pm
After having one on Christmas Eve? Of course they would have one on Sunday.
March 18, 2010 at 7:45 pm
Bart Stupak said for every yes vote they sway they get another no vote so it’s still short. They are trying to call everyone’s bluff and drag people over the line but they still do NOT have the votes. That is why Obama canceled his trip.
March 18, 2010 at 7:04 pm
This is good a place as any to put this…everyone say a prayer or send your positive thoughts to my oldest daughter. She has to give a speech on her “most exciting moment” in a class where the teacher is a full-on Obamabot. What was her most exciting moment you ask? Meeting Sarah Palin and getting on the news while waiting at her book signing.
Her teacher already gave her a harsh grade on her initial draft. Of course, the teacher tried to go overboard saying it wasn’t the topic but how she formatted it (or whatever). Oh well, I told her to keep me aprised and I am ready to go raise heck if she doesn’t get a fair grade.
March 18, 2010 at 7:41 pm
That was what happened with my niece when before the election she went around asking students who their parents were voting for and her GPA went down for the remainder of the school year in that class.
March 18, 2010 at 7:43 pm
Oh, please keep us posted–I’ll be pulling for her. I have a little niece–well, 13 now–and I ask her from time to time to let me know if her teachers ever do anything that seems overt or funny–esp in social studies or science (AGW propaganda). I never tell my nice how to think on anything, but I want to keep tabs on what they’re feeding the kids at public school. She’s more like my little sister; she’s only 12 yrs younger than me. Gotta look out for her.
Good luck to your daughter!
March 18, 2010 at 8:37 pm
I should add…she does have two good conservative teachers too. One of them is her social studies teacher too which is good. Both of them were very supportive when she told them about her experience with Sarah.
March 18, 2010 at 7:43 pm
nice=niece, sheesh.
March 19, 2010 at 12:50 am
Nic, according to my niece, that error is perfectly understandable.
I wanted to come and tell you guys that my best friend came over to visit and, while we were talking, she made the comment that she thought McCain would have won if it hadn’t been for “that woman” (spat out contemptuously). She said that she thought Sarah Palin was unqualified and stupid.
I took the opportunity to tell her all about Sarah Palin’s qualifications. Running a business, town, etc. and that she was on the front-line of National Defense being from Alaska, etc.
By the time I was done, I’m pretty sure my friend had changed her mind. It was fun channeling the Hillboyz (altho, I am but a pale imitation).

Okay people – this is our last chance. Give as much as you can Dick Morris is trying very hard to stop it. He needs our help, TODAY.

I’m looking forward to this. I’ve always wanted to visit Alaska. I saw an episode of “Bizarre Foods” where Andrew went to Alaska to sample the cuisine. It’s a beautiful place.
March 19, 2010 at 1:42 pm
The PR this documental will bring to the future First Family might be imitated by the Obamas. The only difference is Obama instead of the American Last Frontier will show his Muslim, Kenyan , African, Middle east roots.
