There are many times when we, as Hillary Clinton supporters, can speak directly to Sarah Palin supporters, as people who have been there, done that, and have the scars and experiential knowledge to prove it. Today is one of those days, as the MSM and Left attack the Governor for her planned travelogue/documentary series featuring the Palin family traveling across Alaska, showcasing its wonders and teaching America about our last frontier and the great energy riches inherent there.
As usual, the MSM, DNC, and RNC elite conspire to breed Eeyores amongst the caribou and arctic foxes of Team Sarah. Eeyores, for the uninitiated, are sad-sack, pessimistic, fat little rainclouds moaning DOOOOOM! DOOOOOM! DOOOOM! because the MSM spins something Palin does in a negative way…and Eeyores foolishly fall for it. Each and every time.
We, as Clinton supporters, dealt with this for the better part of a year, as the MSM constantly told Clinton “to shut up and quit” and bred Eeyores to moan and bray that there was “no way Hillary will win Massachusetts!” or “not a chance she’ll take Ohio!” and that “we’re DOOMED! DOOMED! DOOOOOOOOOMED! in Pennsylvania!”. Eeyores? More like jackasses, because we won every one of those states. The MSM and DNC knew Clinton would win too. That’s why so much effort was made to demoralize her supporters and make them second guess their commitment to Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton, a woman we personally will always go to the very gates of Hell and back for.
One of the women we’d do that for…the other being Sarah Heath Palin.
Today, as many in Team Sarah doubt the benefit of Palin filming a TV project with Mark Burnet, we’re reminded of one of the most frustrating and asinine Eeyore-isms here in Hillaryland, which went on and on and on ad nauseum from December 2008 through, well, this day for some trolls. ”She should have stayed in the Senate! She’s marginalized! She should have never taken the State Department job! Eeeeeee-yoooooor, eeeeee-yooooor, eeeee-yoooooor! Waaaaaaaah!”.
Hillary Clinton made a brilliant tactical move in leaving the Senate. It was genius for the following five reasons:
(1) Clinton was able to make the 17 million or so Democrat voters who picked Dr. Utopia and his Hope and Change parlor show over her in the primaries completely forget there was ever any animosity between her and their Lightbringer, while maintaining her own army of 18 million loyal Hillary voters. In the Senate, she would have been a defeated adversary. At the State Department, she took on a new role as Secretary of State that showed Dr. Utopia’s voters “what a team player she was”, making it impossible for “The One” to ever say a bad word about her again.
(2) Clinton was never going to get a major committee to chair in the Senate, because of seniority rules, so being in the Senate offered her no new experiences for any future plans she has. Moving to State bolstered her foreign policy credentials. If she runs for office again, it will not be as a former First Lady and Senator, but as a former Secretary of State who was a Senator before that, and a First Lady many, many years ago.
(3) Hillary Clinton did not have to vote on any of the crazy, demented, unconstitutional, and reckless nonsense the Left has forced through the Senate since January 2009. She, thus, got out of Dodge before the whole place went nuts and the Kool-Aid Crazies took over. The woman who was hamstrung by her Iraq vote in 2002 did not want to chalk up any more votes that would haunt her in the future…such as the vote on the Porkulus Wasteful Spending Bill, the Cap & Tax measures that were proposed, and this abomination of Healthcare Rationing bill. Traveling the world wherever she wants to go, Hillary Clinton doesn’t have to touch any of this madness with a ten thousand foot pole.
(4) Regarding Healthcare, the woman who was tarred and feathered for “HillaryCare” in the 90s has now watched Dr. Utopia make everyone forget her mismanagement of that policy process twenty years ago, because the bumbling and undemocratic hubris the administration is showing with this Rationing bill has eclipsed the mistakes Clinton made so long ago. She has absolutely nothing to do with this disaster. Nothing. None of this is her fault. It’s so bad, in fact, that people look back fondly on “HillaryCare” and wish we could all have that back on the table again today.
(5) Lastly, Clinton, at State, is out of politics for the time being. She, thus, does not have to travel the country campaigning to save all the many, many Leftists who will be obliterated in the November elections…many of whom are people who backstabbed her and pushed her out of the way so that Dr. Utopia could declare himself a “Lightbringer” and usurp her. In Tel Aviv or London or Moscow or Paris or Beijing, Clinton gets to sit back and watch all of these fools and idiots implode as voters take back the Republic from these radical Marxists this fall. She does not have to help them. She is, in fact, by nature of her job, precluded from doing anything to save them. ”Can’t interfere in politics, I’m Secretary of State now,” she gets to say. ”Save yourself, Chuck Schumer. Better yet, let Obama save you, since you wanted him to be president instead of me”. You know that “cackle” Dr. Utopia’s followers accuse Hillary Clinton of having? Well, insert said golden laughter here.
So, contrary to what so many Eeyores have repeatedly said about leaving the Senate being “a terrible move” for Hillary Clinton, we’ve consistently maintained, since Day One, that it was strategic genius of her to switch gears like this, and get out of the way of the runaway train she saw coming.
Similarly, we believe Sarah Palin is making perhaps the smartest, most brilliant, tactical move of 21st Century politics in pursuing the travelogue/adventure/exploration of Alaska series with Mark Burnet. Here’s why:
(1) Sarah Palin will no doubt have complete control over how she is portrayed on the Burnet show. She would never agree to such an undertaking if this was not true. That would be ludicrous. So every episode of the show will be what Sarah Palin wants America to see about Alaska, and Sarah Palin too. She will control the narrative. She will take viewers to places that have special meaning to her, and that showcase her many strengths and talents. Every episode will be a campaign commercial without most Americans realizing it. The grandeur of Alaska will unfold before their eyes, with Sarah Palin as their guide. An emotional connection will form with her, the way those connections form between viewers and the people on Amazing Race or Survivor. At home in Cleveland or Helena or Newark, people will see “their friend Sarah” out and about in exotic far-flung places, and they will share whatever adventures unfold with her. They will get to know Alaska through her, and get to know her through Alaska…and the miracle of television.
(2) Palin knows Katie Couric and Tina Fey did damage to her name and image in 2008. To this day, low-information Liberals parrot things they heard Fey, in particular say, attributing them to Palin. We remember clearly in the closing days of the presidential campaign Fey appearing on Conan O’Brien or some other show claiming she “couldn’t wait to never do the Palin character again”. In fact, she SWORE up and down she was just doing her Palin impersonation one or two times, then never again. Well, here we are in 2010, and apparently Fey’s so desperate for attention she’s going back to her old stomping ground at SNL to do the Palin impression some more…because Palin is more popular and famous worldwide than Fey will ever be. That’s really sad, actually, because it feels like someone in her 40s going back to grade school, sitting down in one of those teensy desks, getting out some safety scissors and playing sixth-grader again. If Sarah Palin is not a very big deal, when why is Tina Fey, “star” of her own TV show, going back to her old ensemble show to portray the woman she claimed she’d never portray again? Makes no sense…unless Palin remains a great and serious threat to the Left, and the MSM, DNC, and others need Fey to keep pumping out apocryphal nonsense low-information Liberals can then parrot back about Palin. The way the Governor counters this is by filling the airwaves with her own images, her own impressions for the public to latch onto. The more content Palin puts out there showing her in the best light, the harder it is for Tina Fey to invent nonsense. We’d address Katie Couric here, but why bother? Couric’s being fired by CBS because of her dismal, unprofessional performance. Apparently, she’s being replaced by the end of the year by Anderson Cooper from CNN. So, Couric, indeed is irrelevant. When Palin continues to hold more public fascination than ‘the perky one’ could ever imagine.
(3) The quickest way for Palin to end the attacks on her children by the likes of David Letterman and other Leftist agents is to show America how great the Palin family is. Heroic Track is off in the Army serving his country and fighting hard in Afghanistan, so we don’t think he’d be part of the show, but Bristol certainly has shown immense strength and maturity beyond her years in recent months, so we bet she will be on the series helping Palin teach Americans about Alaska. After reading Going Rogue, we’re certain spirited Piper will be right there at her mom’s side, since Piper’s been Palin’s sidekick since she was born. Willow, who is apparently very smart and interested in history, would be an excellent guide on this series, and with Bristol would probably help take care of little Trig, who no doubt will quickly become America’s sweetheart. We love that little guy, so we can’t wait to see him each week somewhere in Alaska with his family, exploring, learning, growing, and teaching Americans just how much a special needs little guy can do…and how much he can quickly come to mean to ALL of us. Throw in stone cold fox Todd Palin, and you’re guaranteed even guys here in Boystown would want to watch. It’s already going to be must-see TV in every female household in America, but despite the irrational hatred of Republicans here in Boystown, we bet even a good portion of our peers will be TIVO-ing to see what manly adventures the future First Dude gets up to each week.
(4) With Palin on TV all the time, it will essentially be like having free campaign commercials playing a year before the Iowa Caucus, when her boring, milquetoast, cucumber and mayonnaise on soggy Wonder Bread primary rivals like Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, John Thune, and Casper the Friendly Ghost all fade into the background, like xeroxes of mimeographs of tissue paper bathroom caulk color samples. Meanwhile, Palin gets to establish branding using all that Alaskan wilderness, all of those Alaskan animals, and all of that adventure, which more often than not will lead her to oil exploration areas, to places where Alaskans have struck out and created new business, and to wherever she thinks her policy points on national security, job development, and strengthening America can best be illustrated in her native state. She will combine policy with adventure in a way the American people will eat up. Just like watching Amazing Race, viewers will LEARN something while being entertained and traveling to distance lands vicariously through the characters on TV they watch…but this time the characters on TV will be living in the White House in 2013.
(5) Palin, as the GOP nominee in 2012, will need to defeat the world’s biggest celebrity, a man who has the entire MSM at his disposal, working as his Ministry of Propaganda and carrying out orders from the DNC itself. She’ll also have to face the RNC elite, which does not want to run a woman for president, and instead wants to send one of the Caspers up to bat: Pawlenty, Romney, Thune, Mitch Daniels, John Huntsman, or people even worse as national candidates like Charlie Crist, Bobby Jindal, or Haley Barbour. So, for Palin to defeat first the RNC and then Dr. Utopia and his Maddening Media Machine, Palin must become a bigger celebrity and media force than anything her detractors and opponents can muster. A hit TV series in which she travels with her family, showcases Alaska, and teaches Americans her policy points while letting them get to know her and her family better might not be the only way to achieve that…but it sure will work. You betcha!
So, Palin supporters defaulting to Eeyore mode and thinking this is a bad move for Palin, please listen to guys who have been going to bat for Hillary Clinton since one of us first wrote a freshman essay on her for speech class back in high school in 1990. We’ve seen everything possible thrown at Clinton. We know exactly what the MSM and DNC did to her in 2008. We know exactly why she left the Senate and went to the State Department. While we don’t know when she’ll run for President again, we know that she will do so.
We know Sarah Palin is running for President in 2012. We know this show is part of her strategy for winning.
We think it is a brilliant tactical move.
Should, for whatever reason, the Palin Family Adventure Show find its way taping an episode in Chicagoland, we volunteer ourselves as Palin’s Boystown guides, and hope to watch every episode when it airs in 2011…at which time we hope to be coordinating ground efforts for Palin as she prepares to become the first woman to win the Republican primary in Iowa in early 2012.
This is a brilliant, brilliant move on the Governor’s part, people. If you support her and believe in her, you have to learn to trust her…and shut down those Eeyores before they drag down her campaign before it can even launch.

UPDATE: Entertainment Weekly has more on the Palin-Burnet TV project over at EW.com.
A few things are interesting about this. Right off the bat, for whatever reason, vile pig Ken Tucker didn’t write up his thoughts on this TV deal for Palin. Perhaps his hooves were too muddy to slam against the keyboard, so they had Lynette Rice write the piece, who is much fairer to Palin (and everyone else who is not a crazed Leftist, which are the only people Tucker supports). Why Tucker didn’t write this blurb on a TV development is beyond us, since he takes every opportunity he can to bash Palin. Maybe the editor decided his particular brand of bacon-scented swinery was not called for this time…because the Palin-Burnet show is going to be a big deal.
In the EW article, more details come out about whom Palin is meeting with in Hollywood: it’s all broadcast networks. That appearance on Leno seemed timed to coincide with her meeting with NBC…staggered a few days later so that Nielsens could come in and show what a draw Palin would be. Very smart move for the ‘Cuda.
We like the “Commander in Chief” joke one executive told when asked what Palin was doing at the networks. He said she was doing a sequel to the Geena Davis show from a few years ago, which we LOVED, about the first female US President.
We believe the 45th President will be a woman, and she will take office in 2013. That woman will either be Hillary Clinton or Sarah Palin, depending on whether or not Dr. Utopia does not run for a second term, in which case Clinton will be the president…or if he decides on foolishly trying to Hopey-change his way through another election, the Palins will move into the White House in January 2013.
A WOMAN WILL BE PRESIDENT…and she will kick ass and take names, and have one Hell of a time trying to clean up the mess the Utopias made of this country (and more likely than not, the way they throw parties with reckless abandon, the White House itself).
March 4, 2010 at 3:41 am
agreed. now will a network pick it up? And which one. It would be a boxoffice goldmine. will the likes of NBC run it?
I think it will appear first on cable and then as ratings soar one of the networks will allow profit to trump ideology

Boyz, please make me happy. I am near tears (I know it’s foolish) watching Lawrence O’Donnell degrade and mock Sarah on MSNBC.
http://storyballoon.org/lawrence-odonnell-and-peter-bart-make-fun-of-sarah-palin/
This O’Donnell idiot must be taken DOWN! I know you’ll all say ‘why worry? he has no viewers,’ but it’s exactly the few viewers he has that will pay credence to his condescencion of Sarah & Todd. I can’t stand Lawrence, and I’m at the point where I can honestly use that mean word “hate” when referring to him for the way he’s treated the Palin family.
Is there any way we can get this garbage to stop? After seeing Sarah shine like the brilliant star she is on Leno this week, it hurts my heart so bad to hear loons like O’Donnel bray on like they do.
They hate her wish such a burning passion that it’s unbearable to me. It’s like a car crash; I don’t want to watch, but the macabre part of all humans has a need to stop and pay attention to this garbage. I feel angry and dehumanized after O’Donnell’s rant. He makes me physically want to throw up.
My love for Sarah has made me so fiercely defensive for her, but I am one lone voice.
How can I get this hurt out of my heart?
XOXOXOXO

Lawrence O’Donnell is a creek!!! He literally attacks republicans on air. He attacked Liz Cheney about “so called” torture. But SHE. DID. NOT. BACK. DOWN. She’s so awesome.
He also attacked Mark Skoussen, the guy who wrote a book defending Bush’s CIA interogation policies. It was just a lunatic rant. Skoussen held his ground too.
The more republicans stand up to him, the stupider he looks, if that’s any consolation.
March 5, 2010 at 12:26 am
I meant creep, not creek.
creek is kinda non-sensical isn’t it?
March 5, 2010 at 9:14 am
or a “crock”?
March 5, 2010 at 12:13 am
Ugh.. latest news, Jay-Z visits the White House:
http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1633199/20100304/jay_z.jhtml
Can we please get some disinfectant up in there folks? Sarah & Todd won’t be able to live with that smell.

I still love this video and have been a bit down lately with all the crap going down in this country…so I watched this to cheer myself up and hope you will watch it again and pass it along! I know it has made the rounds before..
March 4, 2010 at 4:50 am
Thanks for describing Eeyores.
I’ve seen the word on this site before, but wasn’t completely sure what it meant.
I had an idea, but you defined it perfectly.
March 4, 2010 at 5:58 am
one of the better articles about Palin that I have read lately… nice
March 4, 2010 at 6:04 am
I always thought Mark burnett was an excellent prodcucer, I mean really, who can convince people to watch a show with people on an island??
I remember when Survior first came on, I was laughing, liek who in the world woudl want to watch it??
and I was addicted, after seeing the first season.
I agree, this was a brilliant move. Sarah will control the narrative.
March 4, 2010 at 6:25 am
and again, from what I have read, its not a reality show being produced, but more of a documentary type show.
A producer produces all types of shows, and Mark Burnett is an excellent producer. He has done reality shows as well as documentaries in Australia. I have seen those documentaries and they were pretty good.
March 4, 2010 at 6:45 am
Thanks for the info about the EW writers. I wasn’t aware about the other guy being such a jerk and mistakenly took the exec’s quip about the CIC show as an insult. Finally, some fair press within the entertainment industry….which seems to point to all systems go on the Alaska series.
Geena Davis, in a strong and brilliant role, and of course helping to make the case for Hillary, was one of my favs too. They even had her embracing her ‘enemies’ and bringing them into the fold early in the series. Just like Hillary had done in the Senate. Working across the aisle with some people who had not treated her so well. Didn’t like how they had the hubby written because it was nothing like how Bill would have handled the First Dude job. But they couldn’t make it exactly like the Clintons. ;)
As far as the Alaska series, it will be so much fun to see the personal touch of an adventurous family, surrounded by the beauty of the state. Which is something that has been lacking in most of the shows on Alaska. Just recently, they’ve placed people within a couple of reality shows with Alaska as a main character. But this is the first family friendly and fun type of show that highlights Alaska that I am aware of.
Great article on these brilliant ladies.
March 4, 2010 at 7:15 am
Agreed, making this documentary (if that’s the right term) is a very smart strategy, especially coupled with the second book she’s working on, which as it’s been described also sounds like an excursion — taking readers along to meet her heroes, the elements of her political outlook, etc.
March 4, 2010 at 6:48 pm
When Sarah stepped down as Governor, she told the Alaskan people to trust her, that it would all be good. By making this move, she will surely cause people to become interested in the beautiful state of Alaska (I’ve been there twice). This can only help the tourism industry. This will filter down to help even more of the hardworking people of Alaska.
She will also be able to provide the rest of America with a view of that football size spot of land known as ANWR. As soon as she shows the world that it is not some pristine land of Eden, but rather a desolate place, more people will be convinced of the wisdom of drilling for oil in ANWR. This, too, will help the economy of Alaska, not to mention helping to satisfy, as Sarah will say, “hungry markets in the U.S.” This will reinforce a major theme of hers: energy independence.
When she introduces the populace to native Alaskans in their native communities, she will be able to instruct how they live off the land. She will show how valuable moose and caribou are to the very existance of these people. Todd being part native Alaskan will help make the emotional connection of the need to make sure that there are sufficient
levels of moose and caribou for the people to eat, thus addressing the criticism leveled against her regarding aerial shooting of wolves. Sarah is pro-life. People will be forced to choose which is of more value – a human or a wolf.
March 4, 2010 at 7:23 am
Can’t wait to watch it! P.S. Cannot stand Juan Williams! Watched him on Hannity and he is such a jerk…he better watch out for Hera!
March 4, 2010 at 8:09 am
My mouth fell open when Williams called Palin “the centerfold for conservative men.” I thought that was so demeaning and belittling. That statement really objectified her, and I am not feminist by any means. The double standard is so old.
March 4, 2010 at 9:18 am
Juan Williams is a pathetic Lib, wandering aimlessly through the swamp his party has become.
These days, he looks like a defeated man.
(Bad schedenfreude, BAD!)
March 4, 2010 at 10:16 am
I did not see Juan last night. Sometimes Hannity is too much for me, esp. when he has that Bob Beckel guy on. Juan has gotten worse. He and Bernie both dislike Palin and Beck to a great degree. I did happen to see a minute of Shep the other day in passing where he was talking about Leno and his guests for Tuesday night. He refused to even mention Sarah even though she’s an analyst for Fox. Juan used to make sense once in awhile and some of his books were pretty good or at least were readable. Now he is an Obot and can’t see past his nose. I miss the old him when he used to make sense.
March 4, 2010 at 12:42 pm
Apparently character doesn’t matter to Juan, only melanin. Such a shallow, ignorant reason to proclaim fealty to a leader … or anyone else.
March 4, 2010 at 1:01 pm
When Mark Ballentine attacked Juan Williams on Hannity last year, calling him a ” porch sitting, Uncle Tom” I was one of countless non-libs who rallied to support Juan Williams and denounce this hateful attack.
It saddens me to see that the comment that Mr. Williams made about Sarah Palin is as mean spirited as that made by Ballentine about him. This is doubly disturbing considering Sarah Palin is also his co-worker at Fox. He owes her an apology at the very least.
March 4, 2010 at 1:30 pm
Does Juan Williams have an e-mail address?
March 4, 2010 at 7:57 am
What to do about those wretched people reporting at E…Blatant lies and a most unflattering article. They even say that she was such a prima donna that no pics or interviews were permitted, then post a picture of her writing a check! Ugh! I despise these people!(O and I love how EW selects the picture of her the night she lost the election-NOT)
I think the use of the words “reality show” conjures up an opportunist connotation. I know she is not going that route. It would be so out of character.
Thank you for your analysis here as I, too believe it is the best way to manage/remake her image as defined by the Leftists. I notice many are out on these reports commenting. Wonder how many are just a couple of punks getting paid by Axelrod…
And Juan Williams calling his FNC colleague a centerfold on Hannity last night was absolutely over the line! That really angered me!!!
March 4, 2010 at 11:00 am
I did not see Juan last night but with all of you commenting on what he said, I’m furious! I think it’s time to write [email] and call FOX News on this. I want an apology from him. I want him to know how hard we grandmothers worked for so many decades to make sure men would be embarassed to even think these things much less say them in public.
Juan needs a bit of shaming for this. I am writing him and the producers today. Anyone with me on this?
Grrrrr.
March 4, 2010 at 12:53 pm
I caught the “conservative centerfold” remark and thought, “uh oh Juan, you’ve stepped in it this time.”
You’re absolutely correct, Melanie, Beckel’s the pits. Someday his pent-up anger toward and hatred of anything conservative will cause him to explode all over the Hannity set. Sean might want to hand out protective gear when Beckel’s on that dopey panel.
March 4, 2010 at 7:59 am
Wonderful analysis, and simply a pleasure to read.
You guys have the clearest insight into what is going on in America today – - no one else comes close (although Ace at Ace of Spades is really, really good).
I believe Sarah’s folks read you and take your advice very seriously, and you may well have planted the idea for this show in your series of posts a while back urging Sarah to stress the Alaska connection.
One of the three things Sarah cited on Leno’s show, when discussing what she wrote on the palm of her hand, was lifting America’s spirit.
Amen and amen!
Sarah and HillBuzz – - lifting America’s spirit in the age of Dr. U!
March 4, 2010 at 5:52 pm
Tonawanda- looks like we share similar blog tastes.
The Buzz and Ace are my top two bookmarks, hit ‘em first thing every day. They’re both great in very different ways- but both feature extremely sharp insights and great writing with outstanding commenters.
March 4, 2010 at 8:10 am
Here’s what I posted on Lucianne.com before I came here and read what The Boyz are saying.
Sarah Palin loves Alaska. She promotes Alaska. She wants more people to learn about Alaska, its people, its culture, and its resources. I believe that this is what this reality show would be about.
Before you go saying Sarah has jumped the polar bear, consider that Ronald Reagan did “Bedtime for Bonzo” and was a spokesman for Westinghouse. (I believe that was the company. It was WAY before my time when he did that.)
Consider something else: We aren’t getting a common-sense conservative belief system through to the youth via the public school system OR through public higher education. TV–friendly, conversational TV–could make that inroad.
Unconventional of Sarah? Sure. Stupid? I don’t think so.
March 4, 2010 at 9:35 am
It was G.E.
Unfortunately I am old enough to remember.
Regan used to end his comments with the line ‘Progress is our most important product’.
March 4, 2010 at 11:02 am
And I bet he’s rolling over in his grave because of the way the “progressives” have hijacked the word Progress.
I. Really. Miss. Him.
March 4, 2010 at 11:47 pm
I think it will be great for Sarah to introduce the lower 48 to Alaska. The folks in the lower 48 have a misconception of the state and its people. Sarah will make her accent acceptable, “snowmachine” will replace “snowmobile,” and we will see what a hardy people the folks of Alaska are. I can’t wait for it.
March 4, 2010 at 8:15 am
Hillbuzz, thanks for your analysis. I am going to read it again. Over at Hotair, they are in full eeyore mode as you predicted. Some on the book thread said that she “jumped the shark” on the reality show.
I also think that being apolitical will help her (with those indies that everyone keeps barking about) as well since everything in this country is so politicized. You can’t get away from it, not even watching the Super Bowl.
So, it will humanize her, and yes she will get to control the message. Some free advertising for her. Hillbuzz makes another valid point among many, that we need to trust Palin’s instincts. Look at what they said about her resignation, that she was done. She’s not conventional and thats one of the many reasons why we love her, right?
March 4, 2010 at 8:25 am
Right!
March 4, 2010 at 11:04 am
And one of the reasons the left hates her. They can’t put her in one of those little boxes they fashion for anyone they disagree with. She keeps hopping out and going her own way. Then they get whip lash.
March 4, 2010 at 1:14 pm
LOLLLL
March 4, 2010 at 8:25 am
I sincerely believe that everytime Sarah is on TV, she converts more and more people to her side. She’s a hard person to dislike and it’s getting harder and harder to call her stupid.
Being visible, literally getting in the faces and smiling at her detractors is the smartest thing she could do…..from writing her book(s), the book tour, the Fox stint, her FB page, the talk shows and now this.
She’s going to catch heck, sure— but people have short attention spans and they’ll forget the past with what they’ve seen today.
March 4, 2010 at 8:27 am
Also, didn’t Reagan use the radio to speak with the American people before he got the GOP nod? How would this be any different?
March 4, 2010 at 8:37 am
Exactly— familiarity is a good thing (if you’re a good person).
Someone who keeps their distance, or needs to control every aspect of interactions are suspect (like our current POTUS).
Think about it, in 2007, he was unknown to 99.9% of the country.
March 4, 2010 at 8:54 am
OK, I am answering my own question. It appears that Reagan went on the Sonny and Cher show, and the Dean Martin Celebrity Roast. This is a good blog post.

March 4, 2010 at 9:00 am
And what about Bill Clinton going on Arsenio Hall with his saxophone?
March 4, 2010 at 11:29 am
I don’t remember the Clinton being on Arsenio Hall, but I do remember that it was Johnny Carson that had him on after the speech @ the DNC. Also, Rush helped them during the primaries when so many were criticizing Hilary for wearing the headbands. I don’t remember exactly what he said, but it was in her defense.
March 4, 2010 at 2:00 pm
Oh yeah, I remember seeing Bill Clinton on Arsenio Hall.
A small news clip about the moment…with some footage of him playing and the audience cheering him on.
http://www.arseniohall.com/video.asp
It really set him apart from everyone else. And seeing him in dark sunglasses with the band…very cool.
March 4, 2010 at 3:57 pm
I remember the saxaphone thing, too.
March 4, 2010 at 8:43 am
Fox is reporting this isnt true.
There is no reality show.

Yes – Brian Kilmead said that Sarah called in to confirm that it wasn’t true
March 4, 2010 at 8:46 am
“A WOMAN WILL BE PRESIDENT…and she will kick ass and take names, and have one Hell of a time trying to clean up the mess the Utopias made of this country (and more likely than not, the way they throw parties with reckless abandon, the White House itself).”
AMEN to that! Idiotic, power-mongering, selfish, self-absorbed men and the women who imitate them have done enormous damage to the Republic. We’re long overdue for a standout woman to take the helm.
About the documentary: GREAT news! Can’t wait to watch. Too many Americans have never gotten out of Dodge; they’re planted in cities and suburbia and don’t have a clue what life is like in the more rural and rugged parts of our beautiful country.
About Hillary’s views on health care: I heard her say, up close and personal, at a town hall at a Las Vegas senior center (with peeps of all ages in attendance) that ALL Americans should have access to the SAME HEALTH CARE THAT EVERYONE IN CONGRESS HAS. Yes, yes we should be able to BUY in, at whichever of the many levels and plans suit our needs. She did NOT propose government-RUN health care!
About Sarah’s backing of McCain: I’m an Eeyore. The Sonoran desert corridor that runs from Nogales and up thru Tucson has been TRASHED! All manner of criminals are getting thru DAILY and wreaking havoc in all ways. No amnesty! McCain has consistently pandered to the Mexican vote at the expense of national security. He might be an honorable man, but he’s bad for AZ and bad for the country. Time to retire. I believe it’s a mistake for Sarah to campaign for him. However, that one mistake, albeit a large one in my eyes, does not negate all the good.
About HRC as SOS: in her heart of hearts, I think HRC can’t stand Dystopia and that she has a plan up her sleeve. It was a good political move to exit the Senate, but I think she has an ulterior motive that goes more toward restoring the Republic rather than merely a self-serving move. I think we’ll find out the deeper truth soon, and I’m personally glad to have her in the SOS position rather than a Dystopia sycophant.
Of Sarah, I did hope and believe that she would truly become an advocate for Down syndromers and their caretakers and would help change the system that those who aren’t rich and surrounded by family must navigate. I don’t see this happening. I can’t imagine she’ll ever respond to my (sane and polite) plea for her help (sent via SarahPac, which is the way, I was told, to contact her). OK. I guess it will have to be someone else who takes up the mantle. So, yes, I’m disappointed for now. Maybe after she’s president, she’ll actually listen to the stories of those who are not as lucky as she and Trig the lightbulb will go off. For now, people like me–sibling caretakers without financial means or family help and support–will just have to continue to slog through on our own, spending more time on B.S. paperwork, phone calls, and letters than on trying to get REAL, PAYING WORK! (If Jenny McCarthy’s kid had had Down syndrome instead of autism, we could have had her in our corner. Oh well, then.)
If I ever know Sarah and/or Hillary personally, the one thing they’d be able to count on with me is that I would tell them the truth of what I believe and perceive. They are outstanding, sterling human beings, far, far better than I, but they are not perfect. I will support them, but I will never be their sycophant.
March 4, 2010 at 8:47 am
Brian Kilmeade on Fox & Friends just announced that the prospective show is not a “reality” show in the context that some are reporting. The show is more of a documentary with Sarah as one of the producers. He did not say anything about whether or not any of the Palin or Heath families would act as guides or announcers.
I am intrigued. I have friends who moved from WV to Alaska two years ago. They love it.
March 4, 2010 at 11:43 am
Caught that this morning as well, that the project had been misrepresented in the articles.
Either way, the trip to Alaska will be fun.
March 4, 2010 at 11:52 pm
…and you know what? Some east-coast folks always make fun of her accent, but I have to tell you….I think the east-coast elites are the ones WITH the funny accents! Who’s to say what accent sounds smart and which one sounds dumb?
Case in point, Jersey Shore. We could, if we were as shallow as all the Sarah haters, paint everyone in the upper east-coast with the same ignorant-sounding broad brush as with the Jersey Shore cast.
In their vernacular… “just sayin’”
March 5, 2010 at 8:04 pm
I completely agree.
And the thing is, that in rural areas of many states there is that same type of accent or almost a southern version. In CA my Grandparents and Aunts, Uncles, etc have a similiar type of speaking and lifestyle.
It is insulting to more people than I think they realize.
March 6, 2010 at 8:17 am
Except that the cast of JERSEY SHORE are New Yorkers from Staten Island.
But yes, everyone in the country has a regional accent, and we all sound silly.
March 4, 2010 at 8:51 am
Bingo. Great job. You know, wouldn’t it be nice if Sarah and Hillary could somehow co-president? What a team they would make.
March 4, 2010 at 8:52 am
It would be great. Stranger things have happened.
March 4, 2010 at 11:12 am
belle-I agree Sarah and Hillary would be so awesome. Really shake up American politics which is so needed. All we women noticed how lovely both ladies were treated in the last election cycle. They forget women are the majority voters and we are like elephants we never forget a wrong.
March 4, 2010 at 9:22 am
ninja stars every week !!!!
and as obama claimed he will be “out ” more on tv to promote (what a drag) his life saving healthcare bill–more comparasions will be made between him and Palin….and you know what happens when they compare—obama brand diminishes……(uh uhu uhuhuh uuhh/who wants to see more of his side to side reading of his telepromter readings…)
Palin’s beauty (which the left tried to make negative) has become her greatest asset—beauty in tv is one of the most powerful weapons to fight socialists……no matter how much money people have or how smart they are in books—leftists elitiest abhor beauty–( kathleen parker trashed palin’s physical appeal)—-physical beauty to elitists is superficial and distraction….”oh cause they are so above it”….but the truth is…it is what they want most for themselves….but you can’t covet beauty–so you have to destroy the concept of it….try to change the image of physical beauty by changing the meaning of it eg. beauty=unique=m.obama……
Palin’s beauty and independence and her faith is not only ninja stars but a fireball to the disease that is socialism and it’s devastating ideas…..
March 4, 2010 at 10:32 am
Great post.
It is astonishing how much of the stark-raving mad reaction to Sarah is based on personal jealousy, with the irony being, Sarah is a down to Earth person, and her critics are privileged and out of touch.
March 4, 2010 at 11:50 am
and when her show is on,
people who love her will love her more and the people who hate her will hate her more…..
BUT the people in the middle who didn’t have an opinion of her will see her the way (at least for me and alot of the supporters here ) they way we see her, everything opposite of obama….actually living the life she wishes on everyone—-NOT telling people how to live, and what to eat etc–and then doing the very opposite of what he preaches….
real deal Palin and the hypocracy of obama—the comparision will be astonishing and anyone who underminded her will be crying in the corner….
March 4, 2010 at 9:52 am
Great analysis as usual. When are people going to learn that any negative Palin story has to be taken with a huge grain of salt, they are always proven to be lies or half truths at best. Unfortunately, even FOX was reporting the “reality show” story. There are way too many people at FOX who are willing to spread these kind of anti-Palin stories. Bernie Goldberg has even resorted to outright lies about her, then wonders why he gets so much negative feedback whenever he talks about her.
March 4, 2010 at 9:53 am
Normally, I don’t watch reality shows, except for Amazing Race (mostly because it doesn’t seem very scripted), but this is one show I’d watch faithfully (and confiscate the remote control from hubby . . . not that he’d mind watching Sarah Palin in action . . . I’m sure he’d gladly give up the remote control for that hour).

Washington (CNN) – Will Sarah Palin and her family be starring in a new reality television series? Not quite, a source close to the former Alaska governor tells CNN.
While Palin and famed reality TV producer Mark Burnett are in New York and Los Angeles this week meeting with six networks about a new series – a story first reported Wednesday by Entertainment Weekly – the source emphasized that the show would be a “Planet Earth-style” documentary about Alaska.
Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, will likely be featured in the show, the source said. But the source added that “it’s not going to be focused on her family, or in her house, or in Wasilla.
“She is just going to use her name to help produce and promote the show,” said the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
The source said Palin is following up on her promise last summer, when she resigned from the governor’s office, to find new ways to shine a light on her home state.
“This is not ‘The Osbournes Go North’,” said the source, referencing the MTV reality show that featured Rock singer Ozzy Osbourne’s family. “This is not a reality show based on the Palins.”

This sounds more like what I was thinking. There are a number of shows based in Alaska these days. I always say Alaska is new Australia…people are just facinated with it. One of my favs is The Deadliest Catch, but then there is Ice Road Truckers, Tough in Alaska, etc. I guess we can thank Northern Exposure for starting it all.
In any case, Alaska IS a beautiful state and if people can not only see how pretty it is, but also see how strong and independent the PEOPLE of Alaska are, then they will see that people like that would never have elected the right-wing nutjob that the media has portrayed her to be.
And since the only fiction shows I watch anymore are on USA, I most certainly will be watching it. I’m still waiting for her to show up on The Deadliest Catch as one of their “greenhorns”…tht would be awesome!

Another book, a documentary series, lots of speeches and events, Sarah Palin is like the energizer bunny, she just keeps going, and going, and going. She must get up every morning, and wonder what she can do today to drive the loons crazy.
March 4, 2010 at 4:55 pm
I think her unbridled energy is one of her best qualifications for office.
March 4, 2010 at 10:29 am
thanks for breaking it down. I admit to an eyore reaction at first…I do believe it was the ‘reality show’ labels. Cant stand ‘em. I really need to remind myself to slow down the adrenaline reactions and keep in mind that the media are highly trained professional chain-yankers and to double and triple check everything, especially palin related.
Thanks again.
March 4, 2010 at 10:52 am
Despite several media reports that the project was a reality show, Fox411 confirms that it is a documentary that will focus on the people, geography and wildlife of Alaska. A source close to Palin says the show has absolutely nothing to do with her personal life or her family.
ITS NOT A REALITY SHOW, TAKE IT EASY:)
March 4, 2010 at 11:08 am
I would like to see that.
I have never been to Alaska.. ever since Gov Palin came on the scene.. I want to see it.
Anyone who has been there always says its gorgeous.
March 4, 2010 at 11:07 am
hillbuzz guys: Thank you so much for the update re: Hillary’s thinking. We Hillary supporters are a loyal bunch and we know how badly and unfairly she was ripped off, by her own party no less.
I think Sarah and the Alaska documentary is a wonderful idea. I know so little about Alaska, and when a native shows the geography, points of interest etc. it so much more valuable.
I know about 5 people who went to Alaska (the cruise ships) everyone was awed by Alaska’s physical beauty. Raw, rugged, natural now we get to see and meet the citizens-it should be very interesting and informative.
March 4, 2010 at 11:09 am
Absolutely.. and she loves Alaska.. she always is so proud of her state.. this would be a great show to watch.
March 4, 2010 at 11:08 am
I haven’t watched TV regualrly for over 15 years. It start as a protest for having to paying for crap. Then I realized that I didn’t even miss it. As a show of support I would try and watch Sarah… I can see me now bothering all my friends to watch this show. Sarah knows what she is doing!
March 4, 2010 at 11:15 am
Brilliant analysis.
Echos a conversation I had with my wife several nites ago. Bill and Hillary Clinton are the smartest, shrewdest political operatives in the Dem party. Dems should trust them more. And I’m not a Dem or will ever likely vote for one!!!
Regarding the Palins – they are ermerging on the Republican side as the mirror images of the Clintons. The Texas Governor race was the proxy battle between establishment Republicans and Team Palin – How’d that work out ;)
March 4, 2010 at 11:15 am
WOW! The best writing of Palin’s Movements! This’s AWESOME! Please, continue to write for us and look for the Elite’s, RINO’s and Diablo’s antipalinistic war for her 2012 Victory for the Presidency!
Thanks!

Yikes! I just went to EW to read the entire article and take a look at the comments. There are so many leftist, mean spirited, ignorant, ugly people there I think I may need another shower. Ick. From her being a “retard” [my eyes almost exploded] to one running that old toast “she’s not Trig’s mother” line, it was just an awful experience.
Some of the “comebacks” to the ignorants were snappy and funny though…

Conventional Republican Politicos don’t get what Sarah and the Boystown Boys get: Sarah’s use of Facebook, the Printed Word, and television documentaries are what Reagan did in the late Seventies with his newspaper columns and radio commentaries.
In each case, Reagan was setting the agenda, not the media.
History may not repeat itself, but it does tend to rhyme.

Does anyone know if it’s true, or just some mean spirited reporter.

More mean spirited BS..Sarah gave everything she was given to charity plus her own money to haitian and chilean earthquake relief funds
March 4, 2010 at 1:55 pm
Sounds like a big steaming pile of bullsh*t. Remember Sarah and her family were accused of doing something similar in NY while getting clothes for the campaign. I think the media called it a “Hillbilly Shopping Spree”. Turns out that was all a steaming pile of BS too.
March 4, 2010 at 2:20 pm
More mud to sling since they don’t have anything else. I think Sarah has enough money to pay for things herself (b/t Fox, a new book deal, and the old book deal).
B/c politicans and celebrities never accept anything for free, right?
March 4, 2010 at 2:30 pm
Thanks Guys,
This is so out of character for Sarah that I’m sure you are right.
I’m so angry at the cruelty!
March 4, 2010 at 8:09 pm
MSNBC was reporting this morning and the lady repeated the insult three times with glee in her eyes and stated the story was in the NYTimes…trying to give it more cred obviously.
But when you think about it, how exactly does it work for 20 people to empty out an Oscar’s swag-bag tent when hundreds of celebrities go to these tents?
Even if every person got something from every table shouldn’t there be a truckload of stuff to supply the entire WEEK of an Oscar grab-bag tent event.
Something is off.
March 4, 2010 at 8:13 pm
Oops I guess that should be LA Times….but the lady only said “The Times”.
March 4, 2010 at 2:41 pm
The problem may be that people are calling it a reality show and we all know the quality of reality shows in this country. I think it is one of the most brilliant strategies to be employed by a politican and you can bet it will be something replicated by others in the future. And you are correct in that this is going to be an hour long campaign designed to let the American people see real conservative values at work–love of country, family, and hard work. Can’t wait to vote for her again in 2012.
Documentary on Alaska, a commentary about Alaska, call it anything but a reality show about Alaska. Go Sarah!!!!
March 4, 2010 at 2:48 pm

A FRACTION OF THOUGHT
BRIEF POINTS OF REFERENCE;
ABOUT SARAH PALIN____
Gov Sarah Palin, is very smart woman and does not take to be a phD in physics, to capture that.
As for to tagg her as merely ‘quiter’ , like someone without responsablility is quite incorrect, for at this point she did accomplished in less than three years what most others public officers do in two complete terms. With that said Alaska is in at very good vector, much more progressive than when she did start the task.
As I did my homework everyone can and should investigate as well, for auto-confirmation of facts,…in other words each one interested, takes care of the details.
In addition , beside the money saving as reslult of not to deal with puny acusations that cost a lot of money to Alaska, the State is left in good hands with many things already accomplished in advance. So , to emphasize, she has been very solid responsible.
More to say is just irrelevant , for Sarah Palin is not the regular everyday, predictalble common politician. She is, as very few can be found, of a good character, integrity, wisdom , and sensible vision, well educate and highly inquisitive. In other words we have to wait for the incoming moves.
AND WHAT ABOUT OBAMA?
OBAMA’S POLITICAL POPULARITY IS FADING….
To put it in short;
IN ONLY VIRTUALLY SIX MONTHS – NOT A YEAR – IN ONLY SIX MONTH! HE RUINED THE COUNTRY FOUR TIME WORST THAN THE WAY WAS GIVEN TO HIM…IN DIFFERENT FRONTS…NATIONAL SECURITY, INTERNATIONAL PLATEAU,..SOCI-STRUCTURE,..MORES AND VALUES,… AND SPECIALLY THE ECONOMY FACTORS____ONLY SIX BLASTED MONTHS!…to ‘PRE-SOAK’ THE COUNTRY I A SOLUTION OF TOXIC IDEAS,…and now after a full blasted year, the situation is worst since there IS NOT indication of any practical aplication, whatsoever.
In conclussion; Obama and his gand ARE NOT LOOKING MUCH LESS DOING NOTHING IN THE BEST INTEREST FOR OUR GREAT COUNTRY.
Opinion anyone?___

And how that plays out there?
AMERICA IS NOW AWAKE!____
THE PAST FRAUDULENT ELECTIONS RESULTED INTO A DECEPTIVE GOVERNEMNT STRUCTURE. The warning of serious analysts was not enough because THE EMOTIONAL FACTOR TOOK A TOLL IN THE PROCESS as well.__
However, the american public was understimated by the democrat left extremists and KNOWLEDGE TOOK PLACE and so,.. THE FALSE AND UNFOUNDED POPULARITY OF OBAMA IS CRIPPLED BEYOND REPAIR….now he is in the open,…and so WE,THE PEOPLE are on the way to PROTECT AND PRESERVE THE FUNDAMNTAL VALUES OF OUR GREAT COUNTRY.__
A BRIEF NOTE ; Gov Palin cleaned-up Alaska of CORRUPTION., and advanced the state in very productive vectors…it is not far fetch to view something similar accouring in Washington DC with her in the presidential arena.____
DEMOCRAT FACTIONS ARE NOT AFRAID OF SARA PALIN – THE SYMETRY IS OTHERWISE;____
Democrats are AFRAID of Limbaugh,Hannity,Michael Steele,Ann Coulter,Laura Ingraham,Michele Malkin,Glenn Beck, ‘WE’,THE PEOPLE’ of this great country,__and; (is anyone ready for this?)__
MONUMENTALLY TERRORIZED BY GOV SARAH PALIN, who everyone knows she could delivers much better presidential leadership than Obama.Palin’s ‘Alaska Formula’, adjusted to nation-wide proportion can implement efficient answers to the economic arena.____
After all EVERYONE KNOWS that she has MUCH MORE, BY FAR, much more DIRECTORAL – EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE, than Obama and Biden together. The public knows this, and so,the electorate are having second thougths about this current administration.__
At this time in history of our great country, PATRIOTS are in demand, for what we have at helm of our nation are evidently ENEMIES OF THE STATE – TRAITORS,… a rogue group with agenda of destruction of what this great country of our is all about.
WE-THE PEOPLE, want and need individuals of good character integrity and honesty,…people willing to give the good fight for our great land…those are the TRUE AND REAL PATRIOTS.____
Sarah Palin fits the ranks.____
GOD BLESS OUR GREAT COUNTRY.

Palin does Palin! (Her namesake Michael) – this is the type of show he did so very well, and I cannot wait to see it. So much of these types of shows have been banished from tv, mainly because reality shows are so cheap to produce as you don’t need to pay actors, and production values are way lower. I’d be interested to know what the budget of this show will be. It’s not cheap to go into the wilderness with a camera crew and do it properly – you need helicopters, planes, offroad vehicles, all kinds of tech video stuff and brilliant crews, which is expensive if you want to do it right and wow everybody.
It will be wonderful to watch. Just the sort of palate cleanser to lift your spirits after watching Odumbo and his drones try to gloom everybody into submission.
It will be a chance to show off what is magnificent about America’s wilderness, and also to show the ignorant that global warming has not in fact destroyed the glaciers and the ice sheets, nor the polar bears. I hope she touches on this subject.
Great, great idea.
March 4, 2010 at 4:35 pm
Funny, but before reading this article, I formed a new Facebook group called “Sarah Palin IS Mackenzie Allen”!! I LOVED “Commander-in-Chief” when it aired in 2005-06…..and love it even more after I bought the DVD last year, and can now compare Pres Allen to the future President Palin. I too fully supported Hillary for President in 2008 against O, and would fully support her if she challenges O in 2012…….for the Democrat nomination. However, in a race between Hillary and Sarah in the general election, I go with Sarah 100%!! I was a liberal Democrat for many years, voted twice for Bill C, and love Hillary…..and HillBuzz!! But I have seen the damage Obama’s policies have done to America, and am now a CommonSense Conservative……or closer yet, a Palin Person. One big problem Hillary could have if she does run would be explaining to America how 1) she ran against Obama in 2007 and 2008, then 2) praised and joined Obama’s administration as Secretary of State, and 3)would then return to her Bash Barack mode in 2011-12. Do I hear the word “flip-flop”??? Not by ME, but by Hillary Bashers everywhere!! I’m going with the sure winner this time, Sarah Louise Heath Palin!!!
March 4, 2010 at 5:29 pm
Boyz, I agree with everything except your point #3. Sarah should not include her children. If she does, that could make them “public figures,” and bad as they are treated now, it would get worse.
Otherwise, a documentary series about Alaska is magnificent. She can show the oil fields and how small the drilling footprint is. She can talk knowledgeably about resource conservation, national defense issues (the Alaska Air National Guard is the only one that is on permanent alert), energy policy, climate challenges and other issues. She can make Alaska a microcosm of America. She’ll be fantastic.
March 4, 2010 at 8:43 pm
I’m wondering when conservative women are going to show outrage toward Juan Williams tirade on Sarah Palin last night on Hannity. You can view it on newsbusters.org Forget about liberal women’s groups speaking out, so please stop complaining. Hey! conservative women email Fox and call for Juan Williams to publicly apologize or be fired. I can’t believe this is allowed to continue to happen on Fox News, “The fair? and balanced?” cable news source. I sent emails all over Fox today. Did anyone else do the same?
March 4, 2010 at 9:38 pm
When I first heard about this, I wondered if Palin’s role would be behind the scenes as a producer or if she would be in front of the camera. Looks like we have our answer per this piece here:
“Palin will visit commercial fishing boats and tour either coal or gold mines and other spots unique to her state. “It’s being in and experiencing the great charm and beauty of Alaska with Sarah Palin,” he [Burnett] said.”
