The current president just sold a judgeship to secure a vote for the heatlhcare rationing Reconciliation push.
He’s now bribed an undecided Congressman by awarding his brother a coveted position on an appeals court.
This follows the president offering a bribe to Joe Sestak not to run against Arlen Specter in the Pennsylvania Democrat primary: the bribe was the position of Secretary of the Navy.
After that, the president tried to bribe Andrew Romanoff not to run against Michael Bennett for the Democrat nomination in Colorado: the bribe that time was for a position in the Interior Department.
This has become the most corrupt administration in United States history.
Somewhere, the ghosts of Ulysses Grant and Warren G. Harding are spectral high-fiving, now that they’re off the hook.
March 3, 2010 at 7:02 pm
“He’s now bribed” – that is a federal crime.
March 3, 2010 at 7:32 pm
Is it impeachable?
March 3, 2010 at 7:34 pm
Federal crimes are impeachable.
This is influence peddling!
March 3, 2010 at 8:23 pm
A felony is a ‘High Crime’ (as in High Crimes and Misdemeanors.)
The Sestak story is getting attention:)
March 3, 2010 at 9:40 pm
Is Sestak the criminal, bribe-able Congress cockroach?
March 3, 2010 at 11:02 pm
No. We should respect him for a couple of reasons. I would still not vote for him if he happens to get the Democratic Senator nomination against Specter, though. In the general election for the Pennyslvania Senate seat currently held by Specter, I’d vote Republican in that race regardless of who the Democratic candidate turns out to be (either Specter or Sestak) as part of the “destroy the current Democratic party” campaign.
1. He has served the US by serving 31 years in the U.S. Navy, rising to the rank of three-star Admiral.
2. He was not shy about publicizing the bribe that the Obama administration offered him to prevent him from running against Arlen “I want to live in the Senate” Specter.
March 3, 2010 at 11:07 pm
Sorry about the double post. I do not know how that hapened. Also, the numbered reasons in my comment should have preceded my spiel with regards to not voting for the Democratic Senatorial candidate in Pennsylvania.
March 3, 2010 at 11:18 pm
Now I’m confused as to who…..
Oh well.
Just VOTE THEM ALL OUT!
March 3, 2010 at 11:25 pm
The guy you were asking about is the Democrat Rep in Utah by the name of Jim Matheson. It looks like Obama is trying to bribe him.
March 3, 2010 at 11:51 pm
Thanks thanks thanks!
I needed that!
March 4, 2010 at 3:56 am
I hope someone is keeping a log of these impeachable offenses.
It should start with perjury when he gave the oath of office. He lied because he had no intention of upholding the oath of office.
March 4, 2010 at 1:15 pm
If I were a betting woman, I’d bet Mark Levin is keeping a close watch.
March 4, 2010 at 11:31 am
And he seems to be quite blatant at doing it. You have to consider – what DON’T we know about him. What is he doing in the dark that we DON’T hear about? More bribes? Is he threatening anyone? i.e. the Chicago Way?
He looked very confident yesterday and he also looked very angry. Blazing eyes and mean sarcasm. I think he’s given up on trying to get everyone to “love” him. I think he’s now conentrating on making sure we all “fear” him.
March 4, 2010 at 5:13 pm
I just heard this afternoon that HObama is taking his mircle snake oil sales circus once again around the country to “sell” us all on his Death Panel Health Care Rationing Bill!”
Sure worked last time didn’t it!
March 4, 2010 at 5:16 pm
The more he’s out there working Obot crowds, the more people see his smarmy sarcasm, his anger, his determination to crush anyone who disagrees with him.
So, it’s probably a good thing he’s out there.
March 3, 2010 at 7:04 pm
The only thing transparent about this administration is that it is entirely corrupt.
Seriously, we have so much to be concerned about in the here and now … but each such piece of corruption is an additional argument for impeachment proceedings once the ‘Pubs are firmly back in control of Congress.
March 3, 2010 at 7:18 pm
http://weeklystandard.com/blogs/obama-now-selling-appeals-court-judgeships-health-care-votes
So does Rep Matheson change his No vote to a Yes and forever be known as the guy that Obama himself bribed, or does he win points by keeping his No vote and be the man who stood up against Obama?
I hope he (and others) are no that the latter is the much smarter choice than the former.
Once again – can you even imagine the outrage if Bush did this?
March 3, 2010 at 7:25 pm
Also, what sort of rulings may be expected from a judge who positively relishes the appearance of impropriety in his own nomination?
March 3, 2010 at 7:29 pm
Good point. So what will happen. Rep Matheson’s brother will pull his name from consideration. Then several months from now when the dust has settled, he’ll be quietly nominated again.
For me, this demonstrates how arrogant Dr. U is. He thinks he can do this and it won’t get reported. Well, he’s right – it won’t be by the LSM – but since no one listens to them anymore except U-Laid drinkers, everyone will find out about this.
March 3, 2010 at 8:17 pm
Yes, if the “brother” so appointed to the position by HObama has any integrity, he would start the legal proceedings against HObama himself!
March 4, 2010 at 5:15 pm
Wouldn’t it be rich if that Utah senator DOUBLE-CROSSED HObama!
What if his brother accepts the appointment and then the senator votes NO!
lol
March 3, 2010 at 7:24 pm
I don’t even know what to say to this.
I have no faith in this govt being now run by chicago thugs.
It might say America, but it sure feels like the former soviet union, this govt no longer represents my best interests or any of my fellow Americans.
March 3, 2010 at 7:53 pm
I don’t know what to say either. I’m speechless. Everyday you get up and it’s another travesty committed by this administration, I can hardly believe it’s all happening.
March 3, 2010 at 9:07 pm
We tried to warn people.
They didn’t listen! They fell for the slick, phony with all of his corrupt cronies.
God help this country.
I hope we can balance the power in November, but whatever happens between now and then is up for grabs.
March 4, 2010 at 12:22 pm
Yeah, the packaging is so important to the left, and the kids, and he was packaged well. The R’s saw it – even so many of Hillary’s D’s saw it but most voted for him anyway crossing their fingers in “hope” he wouldn’t be as bad as they thought or that someone would stop him when he got out of control. What most Independents saw in him I don’t know – except perhaps only that he wasn’t George Bush.
But he certainly has awakened the masses. We don’t like him. We don’t trust him. We are going to vote in November in huge numbers to control him. Let’s hope we can scare enough of the congress and senate that they throw that pig of a “health care reform” bill into a demolition pile and that they don’t pursue other tax and spend schemes until we get more control down there. And then we’ll vote them out so that those we vote for know that they’ve got no choice but to listen to us when we KNOW something they are doing is ruinous to the country.
March 3, 2010 at 7:24 pm
This vote buying, bribery, backroom shady deal making stuff just makes it more evident how bad this legislation is.
If the legislation was good it would stand on its own merits. Not to mention having to buy the votes of your own party to get support for it. Yuck!
This whole thing stinks to high heaven.
March 3, 2010 at 9:29 pm
This the Chicago way.
Now you know why Illinois ex-Gov Blagojevich wants ALL the tapes played in open court during his trial. You’ve got to suspect Rahm et al were really pressuring him to name who they wanted named to replace BHO in the Senator’s seat. Blago claims he was simply negotiating as all politicians do for things for the people of Illinois, not for himself.
There are a lot of Chicagoans who think Fitzgerald, the special prosecutor, had his press conference letting the cat out of the bag about the Blago wiretaps because the investigation was getting too close to the WH. Soon we’ll see whether the judge will let us hear Rahm et al on their phone calls to Blago. Don’t hold your breath, the trial’s in Chicago.
March 4, 2010 at 12:23 am
I’d like to hear those tapes. Who ultimately decides on allowing them to be used in court?
March 4, 2010 at 12:46 pm
I’d like to hear them too. I think this is why that trial has not gone forward. Someone – perhaps lots of someones – are going to be embarassed by these tapes.
Look how fast this same prosecutor indicted Libby for his alleged “lying” about who leaked Valerie Plame’s status.
In addition, since Blogo’s lawyers have asked from the get-go for those tapes to be made public, he’s got a solid appeal if he’s found guilty for anything. And until they release the tapes, they wouldn’t be able to retry him.
A citizen [even one who bends the "rules"] has a right to confront his accusers [5th amendment] and that is why prosecutors are required by law to turn over all evidence to the defense. All evidence. they can be disbarred if they don’t. Especially heinous if they have exculpatory evidence and do not turn it over. They can be prosecuted for prosecutorial misconduct.
March 3, 2010 at 7:41 pm
anyone who wants to… PLEASE call the representative..
I sure as hell plan to tommorow and ask :
will the bribing of a judgeship for the congressman’s brother affect the congressman’s vote?
this should go over real well, he;s from UT:
PLEASE CALL… and put these assholes on the spot! Do not let them hide, call them out on this crap!
never did I think I would see crap like this in the USA!
Phone – (202) 225-3011
March 3, 2010 at 8:11 pm
What state is this guy from?
March 3, 2010 at 8:17 pm
Utah.
That’s a red red state, right?
I will be calling to ask him, did the bribe of a judgeship for his brother change his vote??
I am serious, everyone PLEASE PLEASE call. Be polite, but do not let these a$$holes hide away.
Question them directly!
Send this to all your friends. and encourage them to call.
March 3, 2010 at 8:32 pm
Rep Matheson is the ONLY Democrat representative from Utah!
March 4, 2010 at 2:07 am
He’s MY rep!
I might roll over to his office tomorrow. If he switches his vote, I imagine he’s toast. I’ll also call the Utah GOP tomorrow to see who they are going to run against him.
March 3, 2010 at 8:56 pm
I just sent an email. So can you. Send one today and call tomorrow.
https://forms.house.gov/matheson/contact.shtml
March 3, 2010 at 11:17 pm
Thank you! This is what I just sent:
Dear Rep. Matheson,
It looks as if President Obama has given you a fork in the road. You either change your “No” vote to a “Yes” and show the American public that you can be bribed with judgeships for relatives, or you can maintain your “No” vote and be the first person to publicly stand up to, what is undoubtably going to be, the first publicly known bribe made by the President. Only you have that choice.
The first path will most likely assure your defeat in November and forever label you as the Representative who lost his seat because he caved to a bribe to ram through a health care bill that most Americans do not want. The 2nd path places you in the position of standing up to the bribing, back-room dealing organization that this President and the current Congress are now known for and saying “NO, I will not be bribed.” The first path shows extreme weakness, the second path demonstrates great strength.
Even if your brother should decide to remove his name from consideration, you are not free from the scrutiny that this set of circumstances has placed on you. Is it any coincidence that the White House has a press release regarding the judicial nomination the same day you are invited to the White House? There is nothing coincidental about anything this administration does.
Please hold true to your moderate values and show that you cannot be bought, or bribed or threatened.
With (hopefully) Respect,
March 4, 2010 at 12:51 pm
BRAVO, KJA!!
You laid it out perfectly. Firm, polite, gave him a choice of being a hero or a slug.
Silent no more.
March 3, 2010 at 7:46 pm
Shouldn’t this sort of thing be illegal? It is outrageous that they can bribe congress members like this to pass a bill that the American people do not want. Aren’t these guys suppose to represent the people that elected them? How can they sleep at night? This is no representation at all, with a Congress that is clearly hell bent on passing their Leftist agenda against the will of the people.
March 3, 2010 at 8:12 pm
Like Eric Holder is going to do something….
March 3, 2010 at 8:37 pm
Now I can sleep at night.
March 5, 2010 at 4:07 am
Eric Holder is the biggest crook of all. He should not hold that position at all.
It is a real shame that the position is one by appointment and that it is such a political role.
March 4, 2010 at 12:55 pm
It is a felony. If proven [always the stickler] he could be impeached and spend some time in house, so to speak. If Matheson asked for the favor for his vote, he can be impeached himself. He’s selling his vote.
Bribing officials for favors – even if it’s another offical that is doing it – is against the law.
March 3, 2010 at 7:53 pm
Do the brothers actually like each other?
March 3, 2010 at 11:19 pm
Who knows, but the Utah Rep’s recent signals as far as possibly changing his mind and supporting Obamacare after being against it would lead me to believe that he may do something blatantly irresponsible and arguably illegal as a thank you to Obama for nominating his brother for that particular judgeship.
March 3, 2010 at 8:04 pm
Ulysses S. Grant unfortunately trusted a lot of people he shouldn’t have, and they betrayed his trust. He was, himself, honest and honorable; just way too naive about the people he appointed.
For an alternative viewpoint of President Grant, try:

March 3, 2010 at 8:04 pm
Something to consider. Point One: Just a few weeks ago Obama promised to redirect attention to the economy, jobs, etc. Yet within those short weeks, he went right back to trying to jam his so-called health care reform down America’s throat. Point Two: Last week George Soros, on CNN, pointedly said that he was not happy with Obama, and that he wanted Obama to get on with nationalization and quit delaying. Point Three: When the Capo de Capo publicly says he is not happy with his minion, said minion obviously got that message loud and clear.
March 3, 2010 at 8:05 pm
ya know, I have been a democrat, but I always thought of myself as American first.
When I read this, I am so sick to my stomach. I cannot believe what is happening to this beloved country.
As much as I could not stand Bush during my Bush Derangement syndrome years, I never felt this level of disgust.
I am just so sick to my stomach right now.
March 3, 2010 at 8:06 pm
Hey, give Grant some credit, here: he wasn’t a bad general, you know?
March 3, 2010 at 8:18 pm
Grant accomplished more good in his life than HObama will ever do.
March 3, 2010 at 8:36 pm
Grant was instrumental in sparing the South from the Versailles treatment. We saw how well that worked out in 1939.

I am amazed at peoples creativity. COOL!
March 3, 2010 at 9:56 pm
I usually can not listen to this rap/hip/hop music but, the message to young people and the video is good.
I want the OTP sticker!!
Who is the group?
March 3, 2010 at 11:33 pm
Excellent. Imagine this on the radio. People need to start requesting this for airplay.
March 4, 2010 at 12:21 am
I ordered 10 of their magnetic stickers.

This is Chicago “mafia” politics at it’s best: the “offer you can’t refuse”. “I’m gonna offer ta buy your business. It’s a very good offer. Yeah, it’s lower than youse think it’s worth, but it’s a very good offer. If you don’t take it we’ll destroy your business. Take it or leave it.”
March 3, 2010 at 9:09 pm
Time is running out, do whatever you can to stop this horrible HC being rammed down our throats!

I know Murtha is still on the list, but he will vote, trust me!!!
March 4, 2010 at 1:13 am
Writing to, or calling John Murtha would require psychic intervention as he died recently. But knowing my beloved Demobrats, they’ll find a way for John to vote in favor of Obamacare.

Done! Thanks, Lee.

Is this going to become the permanent protocol in D.C.? Bribes and back room deals? I know the Repubs do it too, and I’m wondering what we as Americans can do to stop this behavior.
The best idea I’ve heard so far is the brilliant one that Hillbuzz came up with–calling out donors.
I hope it works, guys.
It’s GOT to work!
March 3, 2010 at 9:42 pm
YEAH!
CUT THEIR MONEY OFF!
March 3, 2010 at 9:20 pm
Isn’t this the same crime that Blago is being indicted for? Or lost his governorship for? Or whatever?
March 3, 2010 at 9:43 pm
I do think it is!
March 3, 2010 at 11:29 pm
That’s exactly what I thought! Crooks, Chicago crooks, D.C. crooks, doesn’t matter they are all crooks!
Only now it is widely out in the open & seems quite acceptable!
March 3, 2010 at 9:21 pm
Maybe we all need to start witholding our taxes to the feds!
March 3, 2010 at 11:13 pm
Actually taxes on our labor are not constitutional..but that old document doesn’t matter anymore right?? We just go along and pay it and continue to let them threaten us..we should all just stop! Besides it is time for a revolution!!!

The single “group photo” aspect of all of this unAmerican corruption that absolutely disgusts and terrifies me is that we HAVE a Congress that is SUPPOSED to represent us and DEFEND the Constitution of These United States.
And apparently….they are either all tongue-tied, have been threatened, are being blackmailed or are OK with this????? Which is it?
The deafening silence on the part of Congress in the face of all of the travesties and tyrannies of these thugs is reason enough to vote them all out (and take away their pensions). Vile, vile, vile people.
March 3, 2010 at 11:14 pm
Domestic terroists I say…
March 3, 2010 at 11:32 pm
Yes. He. Did!
Mark Levin is all over the story and said tonight — he will keep escalating this story — every single day.
Impeach Utopia….he is the worst President ever elected.
March 5, 2010 at 4:25 am
there is now sufficient reason to impeach him…. beginning with perjury relating to the oath of office. It is just a start… the corruption is definitely impeachable.
March 3, 2010 at 11:34 pm
Just came across from another moderate site — http://potluckbloggers.wordpress.com/2010/03/03/michelle-bachman-calls-for-investigation-of-white-house/
March 3, 2010 at 11:38 pm
Here is the original story Mark Levin credited.
As he said tonoght — isn’t this similar to Blago — pay for favors????
