One of the most surreal things we did during the last days of the 2008 presidential campaign was spontaneously having lunch with Lynn Forester de Rothschild after a Democrats for McCain event near Toledo, Ohio. She is one of the most remarkable, wonderful, and patriotic women we have ever met. She is a longtime friend of the Clintons, and like us used to be a lifelong, dyed in the wool Democrat. She used to be one of the DNC’s leading fundraisers, but no longer recognizes the Leftist-controlled Liberal-Socialist Democrat Party as legitimate.
She is, in a word, MARVELOUS.
Love. Her.
Here she is telling America “I Told You So”. Please read every word of it.
She captures the spirit we share with her, in that we love this country more than any party. She, like us, did everything she possibly could to stop Dr. Utopia from becoming president, since we knew exactly what he and his Leftist thugs would do once he took office.
Now, Lady Lynn is advocating a Resistance Movement to stop Dr. Utopia in the three years he has remaining in office, by creating a “militant middle” in this country that will lead conservatives and moderates of both parties in all-out war against the Left, to save America from socialism and lunacy.
Sign us up, Lady Lynn, sign us up.

I love the way she talks.. her diction and voice.
March 2, 2010 at 7:50 am
She’s a Jersey girl! ;)
March 1, 2010 at 11:46 pm
I love Lady Lynn too, and I love her involvement and support of the PUMAs. PUMAs rock too.
We will defeat Mr. Hopium.
March 1, 2010 at 11:51 pm
Great op-ed. Too bad it had to be written. :(
March 2, 2010 at 12:08 am
That was great & how wonderful that you got to sit down to lunch with her. She was one of my heroines during 2008. Brave & inspiring! And she says great stuff in this op-ed too. Maybe will forward this to our VA senators Webb and Warner who represented themselves to us as dems who were actually American and love their country.
The Daily Beast has really sprung some surprises recently, but the comments section is sadly full of vitriolic lefty loonies. Ick.
March 2, 2010 at 12:24 am
perries, you are so right about the comments.
Unbelievable in the degree of the obvious derangement!
March 2, 2010 at 12:08 am
Wow. The comments. Jeez. Such hate, such anger, such foaming-at-the-mouth anger at any suggestion that Teh Won is nothing like what he promised. Every ounce of hatred they spewed at Bush hasn’t subsided, they just re-direct it to anyone who dares disagree. All hate, all the time, cranked up to 11.
If you make people like that mad, there is no doubt in the world you are doing the right thing.
When you throw a rock in such a pack of dogs, the yelping makes you think the rock never hits the ground, bouncing from mutt to mutt.
I simply cannot relate or understand how someone can honestly say Dr. Utopia is a centrist–still! After all he’s said and done! After all the far-left extremists he daily consorts with! “The health care bill is centrist/moderate.” “The stimulus bill was half spending, half tax cuts.” There are people out there who are dead serious when they say such “the sky is really purple” comments.
Blows. My. Mind.
March 2, 2010 at 12:10 am
hear hear
I really think there is a price to be paid for choosing to be like that. It’s like choosing to become insane. For those individuals, that train is not heading anywhere good.
March 2, 2010 at 12:15 am
The future might, just might, provide great benefit to Mrs. De Rothschild’s request.
If the liberal hijackers continue to “Rahm” this healthcare reform down the throats of all Americans, and if they pass this legislation using reconciliation, the republicans should create an immediate platform point. All conservatives running in 2010 should use “reversing the healthcare bill” as the platform for their election. If conservatives could win majorities in the house and senate, using that platform as a keystone, the mandate from the people would be so resounding all political power would belong to the new speaker and majority leader. Obama would, for all purposes, be a lame duck seated president with no power. Nada. Zippo. Zylch.
Under that scenario you might as well just lock him in the WH and let him spend his time giving tours to school kids. The White House would have lost all power period.
March 2, 2010 at 12:16 am
I like Lynn. I remember her during the campaign, and thought that she herself would be a great candidate for political office.
March 2, 2010 at 7:52 am
I agree. I wish she’d run for guv of NJ.
March 2, 2010 at 12:26 am
I agree with the main body of the piece, but her conclusion that there is a “middle ground” between Progressivism and smaller government is erroneous. “Progressivism” is, by definition, progressively larger government. It’s the result of the compromise in the early 20th century between the people who thought that Russia and Italy and Germany had the right idea, and the people who agreed with them but knew that such an ideology would never take hold in America if presented outright. It was, as Beck has said, designed to eat the Constitution, to “progress” beyond it, as it was, to their thinking, such an old and outdated document. A dinosaur really.
It’s like something I posted the other day, how there are people who think that Progressive ideology is compatible with Christianity. I appreciate those people’s wishful thinking, but it’s simply not so.
And now I’m the wet blanket of the thread. :( I really did like the rest of what she had to say, though, and I pretty much agreed with her all the way up to the conclusion.
March 2, 2010 at 12:49 am
I applaud her for seeing through BO before the election and speaking up and campaigning for McCain, though her conclusion here was disappointing.
You are not alone, angelaisms, in your assessment.
March 2, 2010 at 7:08 am
I was going to post this article earlier in the day because I know the Boyz love Lady Lynn but, I was so repulsed by her conclusion. Sorry Lady Lynn, wrong. Progressive is death to America, next.
March 2, 2010 at 7:58 am
She said a “progressive country.” I can’t verify this, of course, but I’m educatedly guessing that by a “progressive country”, Lady Jersey Girl means being open to such ideas as gay marriage/spousal rights for gays; stem cell and umbilical cord blood research; legalizing marijuana; and like that.
If she wanted a huge, bloated, overreaching government, she’d have fallen in line with B’Utopia. I think she likes the Constitution just fine as is.
Perhaps she’ll write another piece to clarify.
–garlicnosedhoinjersey
March 2, 2010 at 11:54 am
I also read “progressive” in the context she used it as being socially progressive.
March 2, 2010 at 1:38 pm
I see your point, and I agree it’s possible that that’s what she meant. If so, then we need to come up with a new word for it.
I read it as her saying that total government a la Obama is ridiculous, but so is the Constitutionalism being advocated by many in the Tea Party — surely there must be a middle way. The problem with that line of thinking is the only result of a compromise between two such ideologically opposed groups is to give the more ruthless of the two the advantage.
Quite frankly, I don’t give a flying leap about social issues at the moment, and I don’t think I’m in the minority here. Once we put out the fire Dr. U has been pouring gasoline on for the last year, then we can worry about them — and really, social issues are pretty much states’ rights issues anyway.
March 3, 2010 at 9:53 am
Thanks for clarifying! :) I saw it as her saying that people on both sides of the aisle have good ideas that are not contrary to the spirit and the letter of the Constitution.
She confirmed that to me by what she said on FOX NEWS. She definitely does not want the country to traverse a Socialist route.
March 2, 2010 at 12:33 am
Not knowing much about her, I just did some googling and found this video.
That moron, Wolfen Blitzer, tries to spank her for supporting McCain/Palin, but she slaps him silly.
Awesome!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDIsCBrtfxU
(OBTW, speaking of deranged Libs and their vile comments, you’ve got to check out some of the ones with this vid. They go as far as to accuse Lynn and her husband of arranging to blow up the WTC on 9/11!! WTF??
These people are insane.)
March 2, 2010 at 12:34 am
I was hoping you would pick this up today. I didn’t know if you knew her. I’m impressed.
March 2, 2010 at 12:35 am
I liked what she had to say about the issues. She was forthright. She made an excellent assessment of your present predicament. She summed it up perfectly.
If that lady entered into politics, she would have a bright future in the Congress. She is what middle America which consists of Dems, Repubs and Indies really need at this point in time.
I hope that people hear what she has to say and that they will rise up in a movement just like in the 1960s when people marched on Washington against the war in Vietnam.
Yes, I am old enough to remember those days. They had similar marches in Australia. I avoided them like the plague.
March 2, 2010 at 12:49 am
The comments on that Daily Beast article were insane!!! Most Dems don’t seem to understand how corporatist the democrat party is. When Dems constantly regulate business, then they let that business lobby them so-as to make the regulations work in favor of that business, then Dems are going to be friendly with big business. Why don’t the Libs seem to understand that?
March 2, 2010 at 1:41 pm
I didn’t read very many of them — they were, for the most part, incredibly vile.
That’s what happens, though, when you turn the lights on — the roaches flee, and curse you for flipping the switch.
March 2, 2010 at 12:59 am
Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild is a real deal. She is even more impressive seeing her speak.
Wonder if she would ever consider running for office?
March 2, 2010 at 1:02 am
I hope she supports Sarah again and can fundraise for her because it will take a billion dollars give or take to beat Obama and he has all the left wing billionaires on his side.
March 2, 2010 at 3:00 am
George Soros is, in my opinion, the #1 most despicable, destructive, dangerous man on the planet.
March 2, 2010 at 8:00 am
AGREE! He is the devil incarnate and a treasonous traitor. He should be hanged.
Although, I must say that I just saw him on TV yesterday, and I “smell” death a-coming.
March 2, 2010 at 2:36 pm
But doesn’t he have a couple of sons who are involved in his “work”?
March 2, 2010 at 3:52 am
I was impressed that she took a stand in 2008 election. It was nice to see someone with courage during that firestorm of hate.
Nice to know you were able to have lunch with her, it must have been a great experience.
Stepping up for the truth and logical solutions is exactly what the country needs right now.
March 2, 2010 at 8:07 am
Speaking of The One:

its just amazing that the majority voted for this unqualified egomaniac.. what a snow job that was!
March 2, 2010 at 9:30 am
I’m with you Boyz. Love her! She was such a class act during the 2008 campaign pointing out how sexiest the state-run media is. I’m so happy she’s out there again rubbing their collective noses in the Obama debacle.

LMAO
March 2, 2010 at 9:51 am
She spoke for most of us who felt the DNC did Hillary wrong…especially ignoring the 18 million voters who were told “you’re either with us or the hell with you”.
And the PUMAs were born :D And when the PUMAs were ignored, the Tea Party gave us a louder voice! How surprising to find so many “former” Dems swinging signs at the D.C. March along with thousands of moderate voices screaming D.C. is broken and Obama ain’t gonna fix it.
Oh, and those comments at The Daily Beast are digusting attacks on her by the drooling desperate left. Blood in the water! Lynn struck a nerve didn’t she?
March 2, 2010 at 11:48 am
DeniseVB-Lynn spoke eloquently for all of us Dems, as a Hillary supporter I went through the stages PUMA, Tea Party. I always thought of myself as center right, mostly middle-so now if I have to become militant middle so be it. We will take back our country, now that we are aware of where so many of the problems lie-we can make our country better than it ever was. Eliminating corrupt and inept people in government will be a good first step.
March 2, 2010 at 11:30 am
THANK YOU for this. I learn so much from you guys, (I knew nothing about her), and nothing excites me more than a “former” dem who sees the light, because I think it lends so much to the total picture. From her article, I quote:
“It is telling that under Obama’s presidency, according to Sunday’s CNN Poll, 37 percent of Democrats, 63 percent of independents and 70 percent of Republicans see the federal government as a threat to the rights of Americans.”
threat to the rights of Americans.
threat to the rights of Americans.
threat to the rights of Americans.
Nothing could be more true or frightening.
Here’s very good article, and below that, an even more important link to a video: http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=35828

Lynn is very classy.
Notice the way she dresses: as you would expect a FLOTUS to dress.
No boob belts or gauche colors. No hip boots or greasy legs.
No crossed legs and tight, short skirts hiked up with fat thighs showing. No camel toe slacks or see-through fabrics.
Can we draft Lynn for stand-in FLOTUS?
March 2, 2010 at 2:12 pm
Agree, Lynn is gorgeous, which is all the more reason to like her because, as we know, nothing drives the Lib nutjobs crazier than beautiful women with brains.
Wait..I’m wrong. There IS something.
It’s beautiful women with brains and bags of money!! LOL!
Go, Lynn! Go, Sarah, Go, Michelle B!!!
March 2, 2010 at 3:08 pm
Not to mention NOW must hate her too for all the reasons you mention Bijou !
NOW was and always will be the biggest disappointment of 2008. Supporting The One over Hillary and Sarah was unforgivable.
