The New York Times finally drops hit piece on NY Governor David Paterson

Posted at February 24, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

The New York Times has finally dropped the long-awaited hit piece on NY Governor David Paterson.

They are claiming Paterson abused his powers as Governor, used the state police to harass a woman who claims one of his aides beat her, and that he called the woman on the telephone to menace her.

The NY Times, for all intents and purposes, might as well be edited by Rahm Emanuel.  It 100% does the White House’s bidding, and the White House vowed months ago to destroy Paterson.

We can’t know how New Yorkers will react to this hit piece, but it didn’t look like Paterson would survive the primary challenge to  him to begin with, and most certainly won’t after this.  So, why do it?  Why did the Times need to decimate Paterson like this?

We think it has to do with the race card Paterson often throws around.  That was his primary strategy against Andrew Cuomo…to claim he was the victim of RAAACISM! that Cuomo was challenging him.  The black community has been so trained by Al Sharpton, Henry Gates, and Jesse Jackson to come running, unthinking, whenever RAAACISM! is shouted, that Paterson could have inflicted considerable damage on Cuomo that would have affected him in the General Election.

This hit piece looks like it’s meant to so damage Paterson that no matter how much he screams RAAACISM! now, no one will take him seriously.  It means he now has to play defense, instead of taking the offensive race-baiting offense.

It’s a smart move by the White House, actually, to take Paterson down for good.

He have another, wilder thought tonight too.

Hillary Clinton has said she is not interested in running for Governor of New York, but we think a large part of that was the fact that she didn’t want to run against Paterson, because she didn’t want yet another black man to call her a RAAACIST! because she dared to run against him.  Now that Paterson’s out of the way, we don’t see anything that would stop Clinton from running against Cuomo.  Are the people of New York okay with Cuomo just being royally appointed to be the next Governor, or do they want a contested primary?

Would Clinton leave State to run for Governor?

Sure would be a great excuse to leave this administration, now that she used the opportunity to burnish her foreign policy credentials while at the same time exiting the Senate before she had to sign her name onto any of the crazy things Democrats have done in the last year and change.

We’d love to see Hillary Clinton as Governor of New York.  So, we’re very much biased in this instance, and acknowledge our wishful thinking.

But, this hit on Paterson makes Clinton running for Governor MORE likely, and Paterson being able to survive a primary LESS likely.

AND, as this is happening the same week Hillaryland has been buzzing and the old campaign network seems to be energized over SOMETHING, who knows.

Coincidence?

Troll Dissection 101: Can you take this troll's post apart?

Posted at February 24, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch#playnext=1&playnext_from=TL&videos=VEobMNHp1EA&v=YL8jOZ9yqRE]

Let’s try something new.

Before we dissect the following troll comment, we’d like to see if you can pull it apart yourselves.

Can you identify the following:

(1) What is the troll’s objective?

(2) What are the tell-tale troll signs in this comment?

(3) What does the troll want you to do after reading its comment?

We’ll leave this thread up for a while, blank, with just the comment.  Then we’ll come back with an update and add our dissection of the trolling being done.  Let’s see if you can break this all down on your own.

TROLL:

Ok, this made me so excited, but what’s with the Sarah Palin love.

I mean, we circled the wagons when MSM treated her poorly. That’s good. But policy, experience etc isn’t her strong points. I love wonkish leaders. Folks that can recite any issue and rattle off a 10 point plan for each. Sarah cannot.

She wasn’t as great a Gov as her polling suggests. Plus, she quit. I would never ever vote for someone that couldn’t finish the job. The country voted for Bush becasue they wanted to have a beer with him, then they voted for Obama because of his likeability. You figure this is when we need the wonks, knowledge and workhorses. No more show horses and no more American Idol presidency.

Now back to Hillary. I think she would go for Gov. But I’m keeping an eye on things… there is some restlessness in America and we need leadership badly. I don’t care if the individual is ‘boring’ at this point as long as they 1) know the issues and 2) can make tough decisions even when they aren’t popular or goes against your own party…. you know, like the Clintons. ;-)

*******

UPDATE: We were going to go through our own point-by-point take on this troll dropping, but in comments, every major point was covered.  Well done.  Excellent troll dissection.

Now, go out there to other sites and spread what you know so that trolls can become an endangered species in our lifetime.

Question: How do you feel about Marine Parks like SeaWorld?

Posted at February 24, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

We love zoos, especially the Lincoln Park Zoo here in Chicago, which is free.  It’s a treasure of our city, and a chance for parents to do something with their children that does not cost families a cent, which we love, and think is crucial to children’s development socially.  We love going there and seeing families out and about, with the kids excited to be on an adventure.

And, we believe, the children learn respect for animals at the zoos. We’ve never seen a study on it, but we can’t imagine a child with good memories of going to a zoo and learning about animals will grow up to be someone who abuses them.  Zoos are such great learning experiences.

Aquariums, especially the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, are much the same…with an added element of magic for us.  One of the most peaceful times we’ve ever had was sitting in front of the giant Whale Shark exhibit, for hours, watching the enormous fish swimming in the deep blue water, like we were looking into the sea.  It was enchanting.  If ever we head back to Atlanta, we’re guaranteed to spend a whole day there again.

We also have good memories of going to Sea World in Ohio, but frankly never liked the sea lion, dolphin, or orca shows.  We love seeing those animals, but we don’t like watching them perform.  It just never felt “right”.

And, to be honest, maybe if we lived 100 years ago we would be amzed by these shows, the way some people are dazzled by fireworks.  But, we’ve seen fireworks many times.  We’ve seen Shamu jump and splash people.  And we don’t see the point in making a big deal about these things.

But, maybe little kids love seeing Shamu jump and splash.  Maybe Shamu loves performing in these shows. We have no way of knowing.  SeaWorld is a business and has a right to exist.  Today, one of the trainers was killed by an orca in a show tank, while an audience watched.  So, SeaWorld’s insurance carrier is going to be evaluating their business model, no doubt.

We vote against SeaWorld’s animal shows by just not going to SeaWorld.  There’s a 99% chance, actually, that none of us will ever go to another SeaWorld again, as long as we live.  Not because we’re making a statement, but just because we don’t like watching animal shows and would rather go to a zoo or an aquarium.  Even at places like the Shedd here in Chicago, we don’t watch the dolphin and porpoise shows.  They just don’t interest us.

But, we wonder what you think.

Do you like watching these shows?

Do you think shows like this will continue indefinitely into the future, or were they a 20th Century phenomenon that will run their course in the next decades?

Do you like watching animal shows, or do you like animals better when they are just chilling out and being themselves in a zoo or aqurium, or even better, out in the wild somewhere?

BOOM! Taste her nightstick. Governor Palin hits the White House's unconstitutional Rationing scheme

Posted at February 24, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Governor Palin calls Dr. Utopia’s latest lemonade-and-unicorns propaganda effort “more of the same, only more expensive” and rightly draws attention to the unconstitutionality of it all.

BOOM! Taste the nightstick, socialists!

Something is DEFINITELY up in Hillaryland

Posted at February 24, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Here’s the deal:  something — SOMETHING — is definitely up in Hillaryland because too many people have been emailing, calling, and mobilizing in the last few days in “Fire Drill” mode, testing networks, and checking to make sure email lists are still valid for this to be just out of the blue.

It feels like someone from “upstairs” gave a little push.  It might have been NoLimits.org changing its social network system this last week, so people reconnected through old channels to make sure everyone was still in touch.  As we have repeatedly told you, Hillary’s Army never went anywhere, except to Winter Quarters. There are many Hillary supporters who went back to their old lives after the election and are not involved in politics anymore, the way we are.  Those, in many ways from our perspective, are smart people.

BUT, what makes the last several days interesting is the fact that THESE are the people who we have been hearing from, in spades.  ”Saw the Bat-Signal and am reporting in”, is the gist of it.  ”Is it time to kick ass or what?”.

Here’s what we think is going on:  coming from the grassroots, it looks like Hillary’s Army is mobilizing on its own to call back its general to the field, to take back the country from Dr. Utopia and end The Golden Age of Hope and Change.  What Clinton will decide to do is up to her, but it feels like her ground troops are starting to mount an effort to court her back into the political world, to leave the State Department, and to hit Dr. Utopia hard in the primaries in 2012.

The thought from many of us is that Dr. Utopia won’t even run, and will say he has Parkinson’s so he has a sympathetic medical reason for pulling an LBJ.

What we think is prompting this mobilization of Hillary’s Army is Evan Bayh’s retirement announcement and the thought that Bayh did that so he could run a primary challenge in 2012.  It feels to us that Hillary’s supporters don’t want Bayh to get the jump on Hillary 2012 before any of us have the chance to make it happen.

An excellent source for any insight onto what could be happening is The Big Pink, Hillaryis44.org. They were one of the first pro-Hillary sites out there, and are still one of the best.  We read them every day.  Keep an eye on what’s going on over there, always.  They are well-sourced, and they came on the scene two years before any of us here ever thought we’d be spending so much time on a computer.

If we figure out more of what’s going on, we’ll fill you in, but this feels like it’s a 100% grassroots effort to draft Clinton for 2012, perhaps sparked by someone upstairs, but most likely in response to the failure of this current presidency and the possible primary challenge Bayh might be mounting.

********

Something to think about, and we won’t say who told us this off the record today, but you’ve seen her on TV:

I think it comes down to two very possible scenarios:

One:  It’s already pre-arranged he won’t run for second term.  She backed off the fight for the nomination in 2008 when the agreement was made. (perhaps he cited his terminal disease, Parkinsons, etc)

Two: It depends on just how disastrous 2010 elections go – if bad enough- there will be a loud enough drum beat for her to be justified in challenging him and his abysmal fund-raising will only further exacerbate an overwhelming non-support for his re-election from the Democratic party.

********

The key to a lot of this is fundraising.  If we can mobilize a giant effort to get the wealthy and corporate interests in this country to stop giving to the DNC and Democrat candidates because they are too Liberal, then we can cut Utopia off at the knees and hasten his Parkinsons’ announcement and retirement to Hawaii.

Cut off the Left’s money sources, and we’ll cut off Utopia at the knees.

An Amber Alert Has Been Issued for Former Vice President and AGW Pope Al Gore

Posted at February 24, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Where has Al Gore disappeared to?

Why isn’t he addressing the daily exposure of new levels of scandal related to Climategate?

Here’a a great read:  The Nine Lies of Al Gore.

The author, at Investors.com, particularly hammers Gore’s claims that New York and Washington were going to Atlantis themselves into watery ruins in the next few decades, because Gore was shouting from every street corner that “The oceans are rising!  The oceans are rising!”.

Well, it’s been revealed that was just a con.  The oceans are not, in fact, rising.  ”Scientists” just made that up, because the UN needed the oceans to rise for the carbon tradeoff scam it was running to work.  The plan was to redistribute vast amounts of wealth from the West, via “carbon credits”, and put that money into the hands of Third World dictators.

Remember, the majority of the UN is Third World.

It’s becoming increasingly clear the Church of Anthropogenic Global Warming had an agenda much larger than just making its Pope, Gore, and high-priests very wealthy.  The goal was to bankrupt western, industrialized economies, loot their treasuries, and send all those riches the Middle East, Africa, and South America.  To “redistribute the wealth”.

Why isn’t Al Gore out defending his life’s work if he really and truly believes in Anthropogenic Global Warming?

As his church collapses into ruin, where is the Gore-acle?

A new kind of troll is emerging: help name the Hillary vs. Sarah troll

Posted at February 24, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

We don’t have a good troll comment to dissect, yet, on this one, but we’ve detected a new breed of troll that’s been haunting this site.  We don’t have a good name for this mutation yet, but here’s the gist of what the troll does:

* tries to start fights between Hillary and Sarah supporters

* keeps insisting someone can’t support both Hillary and Sarah

* makes extreme comments like, “Oh, so now you are throwing the Palins overboard” or “So, now you are backstabbing the Clintons” whenever we say anything supportive of Hillary or Palin, respectively

Pursuant to that last one, this breed of troll is similar to the “purist” trolls that haunt Republicans, forever claiming someone isn’t a “true conservative”.

In our very special case, of being Hillary Dems who also support Palin and other good Republicans, the “purist” aspect of this manifests in the trolls by claiming in one post we are not being supportive or loyal enough to Hillary, while in another post, that same troll will read from the second set of scripts and say we’ve now turned our backs on Palin.  Same troll, same IP address, same screen name, but talking out of both sides of its mouth.

This “purist” business is dangerous and crazy.

It’s something the Left drives, with the intent of fracturing its opposition.

Madness.

The other crazy thing that’s being done lately is all of the “What will you do if Hillary is the nominee in 2012 and is up against Palin” or “What would you do if Hillary is the VP nominee against Palin” or “What would you do if cats could talk and I found a potato that looked like a bird”.

You know there’s an election coming up, right?

There are bad people like Jan Schakowsky, Chuck Schumer, Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, and others that need to be defeated.

We believe the particular breed of troll we’re talking about today loves pushing this theoretical, time-wasting nonsense so that focus is taken off the real battles at hand.

We’re tired of answering the same questions over and over again.  Use the Search function on this site.  That’s what it’s there for.  We’re not going to get sucked in to the same rehashs of “What would you do?” again.  No more theoretical stuff.  We will only deal in the here and now, where Sarah Palin is clearly running for president and we are very clearly supporting her.  Some day, Hillary Clinton will be back in politics, we have no doubt.  Whatever she chooses to run for next, we will be there on the ground for her.  We are not going to spend our time fantasizing about what the future can hold.  There is too much to do in the here and now.

What should we name the very-specific, targeted troll that keeps trying to drive this wedge between the Hillary and Sarah camps, which overlap more than the Left seems to want.
