Be my guest. For some time now, I have felt called to to write and send email attachments as an alternative to blogging on a web site.
I was invited to become a regular blogger at Girl Pundit and encouraged to set up my own space by one of my fans. And I gave it a lot of thought and prayer.
For many reasons, I came to the conclusion that I should continue servicing my personal email list.
One of the “signs” I had was that in 2005, I created a funny little graphic where I just combined a nice photo of a bear standing by a tree and a funny ‘I wanna be a bear’ thing that was already circulating. I did not take the photo or compose the funny. I just formatted the graphic as an easy to email, forward, download, and/or print graphics file.
In the years since, I have gotten the same file emailed to me THREE TIMES by three different people, none of whom knew I made it. I am absolutely sure it’s my file, because there’s a small error in the text.
Somewhere along the line someone added a red “forward this” note to the bottom, something I never do since I think if someone’s going to forward it, they will and if they aren’t, me bossing them isn’t going to make a diff.
Another reason I chose to stick with my email list is that I think it reaches a different audience. Loads of people are blogging, but not everyone goes to blogs. And you have to GO to a blog. Email comes to you.
Having committed to this, I now have been told that my emails are forwarded to hundreds of people by the small handful I send to. (I use BCC to protect my list.) And I’ve been picked up for reprinting by Girl Pundit and Hillbuzz.
Now … about passing my stuff on. The easiest thing is to link to the blog here. If you want a graphic for your own use, double click on it to get it to open up the full-sized file I created. Then copy and paste into your own graphics file.
I pass on graphics that I made and graphics that I swiped off web sites that allow it. Software exists to block people from using the copy-paste function. E.g., go to Snopes. You CAN’T get their stuff. At least, you can’t with any techno-tricks I know! LOL
So I kinda play a little fast and loose with copyrights, hiding behind my anonymity and lack of interest in getting credit or making money off this stuff. I’m mostly about educating the public to save our country.
That being said … I do try to give credit where credit is due and source my material for people who want to follow up. I have to admit, though … yesterday when I was doing this set, I was working on a parallel project and I realize now that I didn’t credit any of these graphics.
The photos of the Dalai Lama were from news sources. AP or something like that. Definitely copyrighted, but also spread all over the’net. The nifty multi-colored, kinda 3D floor plans of the White House are from a wonderful site:

Even if it was true that the Garbage Route was more convenient for him to exit (and it clearly is false, thank you Chrissy), that’s absolutely no excuse for parading a guest past your trash and across the ice in his sandals. If the most convenient route happened to be through a nuclear waste dump, would they have used that too?

To me, whether or not he’s an asshole doesn’t matter. The White House is symbolic of America and Americans; anyone who is invited there should be treated with respect and cordiality. I can think of a lot of people who have been invited there since 1/09 that are think are clearly assholes, but I wouldn’t want them treated badly while there.
It’s protocol, it’s respect, it’s patriotism, it’s keeping our standards high and turning the other cheek. It’s more than one president.
I think that’s the whole point…what kind of person did we elect who cannot seem to understand or respect this? Don’t they have a protocol office who is supposed to assist him with how to treat people????

Not just one picture. At Fox News, there were literally STEP BY STEP photos of his trek from the doorway and all the way out and around the trash.
This is the White House, “Secret Service” central. They have ABSOLUTE control over photographs. My dd was NOT allowed to have her camera inside the building.
There is ONE photo of Obama with the Dalai Lama in the Map Room and it was taken by Souza, the White House’s in-house photographer.
NO press were permitted near them when they were together. Total control. So clearly, the slide show of the trash walk exists because the White House wanted it.
This whole thing just makes me sick to my stomach. This is our national home.

Here is the potential problem:
While it is easy to write this stuff off as childish passive/aggressive nonsense, it cannot reasonably be regarded as simply that.
Nations engage in symbolic gestures all the time. A poster above insightfully pointed out how China sold billions of dollars of our debt as a symbolic protest of Dr. U meeting the Dalai Lama. China was demonstrating the leverage they have over us if we do not heed their wishes.
But national gestures are pointless if classless, personal, kindergarten things. A nation sends the fleet around the world, it does not make an esteemed figure walk through garbage.
What Dr. U does is personal in a thuggish, mafia way, like sending a wrapped fish; or like a street criminal setting fire to a car owned by the mother of a witness. It is crude.
But it is a mistake to think Dr. U does not understand it is crude. The crudity is part of the message. The nasty disrespect is part of the message.
And what this portends, is that Dr. U has a nasty surprise in mind for this country. He is telling us to go f ourselves. When it happens, we will know: “yes, this is exactly what I mean – - I hate you, and it is my greatest ambition to have you know that you are hated.”

This Dalai Lama diss has me ill. Since it was first published (released by the WH–thereby showing its true ‘intention’) it has made me think of not the policies alone of the the group in power…but the true personas behind the power.

Thank you for posting the White House layout. I hard copied the posting to really study what happened. Even if a person didn’t agree with the theocracy that ran Tibet before the Chinese invasion, the Chinese destroyed centuries old art and philosophical manuscripts. Here in the S.F. Bay area there are many study centers of the various Tibetan forms of Buddhism that try to preserve that cultural heritage. It doesn’t matter if one is a Buddhist, the art and writings represent a people’s attempt to explain the mystery of life and any culture’s copping with life is worthy of respect. Shows what a phony the O admin. is , some respect for their precious “diversity”. I actually think that this incident will come back to haunt the O gang, the entire incident gives me the creeps.

China always claims that no country has any business meddling in their internal affairs, yet Chine sees no problem dictating sovereign leaders from meeting the Dalai Lama.
I am very disappointed to see that the leader of the free world President Obama going out of his way to keep the visit low key. It almost seemed like he was somehow embarrassed to receive one of the world’s most revered leader. He should have given the Dalai Lama the kind of welcome deserving of him on behalf of the people of America.
Again, I hate to say that Obama failed to stand up to bully. Americans and the world community had much more faith in him than someone who keeps flip-flopping.
Obviously, Chinese are testing the young inexperienced Obama how far they can push him. Remember how he was received in China last year and how they dealt with him in Copenhagen during the Climate Change Conference. I think Americans were shocked by how President was stood off and his handlers never saw it coming.
