Research Project: Document the MSM's use of "polarizing" against Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton

Posted at February 17, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

This is another long-term project, which will take a while, but we’d like to see where the use of the word “polarizing” as a weapon against Sarah Palin started.

This is an easier task than figuring out where “polarized” was first used as a weapon against Hillary Clinton.  The MSM has been doing this to her for decades.

The MSM attacks on Palin, however, began August 29th, 2008.

We think we can ultimately create an excellent graph and chart from this data, illustrating the use of  “polarizing” as a concerted attack on both women, with the American media colluding to destroy these two female candidates.

“Polarizing” is a code word, in the way the black community and various race-baiters like Al Sharpton, Henry Gates, and Jesse Jackson forever claim every other word is coded RAAACISM! against blacks.

Well, “polarizing” is a misogynistic, sexist, gender-based weapon aimed at women.

To stop it, we need to identify how it’s used, its history in the MSM, and the impact it has on female candidates.

It’s a big project, but we have to start somewhere.

Question: How much trouble do you think Barbara Boxer is really in?

Posted at February 17, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

All the various political sites are saying Barbara Boxer is really nervous about November’s election, since she doesn’t break 50% of the vote against any of her possible Republican opponents (we like Chuck DeVore best…he of the demon sheep lampooning of Carly Fiorina’s bizarre attack ad against another opponent).

We think it’s worth taking the time to look at California objectively and determine whether or not Boxer really could lose that seat (you know, the one she disrespects military men because of, insisting she “worked hard for (her) title”).

What can we learn about the situation from Dianne Feinstein’s decision not to run for Governor of California?

Does Feinstein think she’d lose to Meg Whitman…because for a long time now we’ve felt Feinstein wanted to be Governor, closing her life’s work in Sacramento, not Washington. This was her chance, but she opted not to take it. We think a large part of that is because her polling showed Democrats are in for a bloodbath this fall…and Feinstein wanted to stay safe right where she is.

So, does this have any reflection on Boxer’s chances in the fall?

California seems to vote Democrat as blindly as Boystown does.

We’ve been wondering if there are any issues that would make the guys we know here in Chicago vote Republican or sit home on election day — thus breaking decades of blind party loyalty to Democrats.

The only thing we can think of that would make Boystown vote Republican would be if the GOP clearly articulated that voting Republican would mean everyone would have jobs again, that people would be able to have their old carefree lifestyles back again, and that the storm clouds over all of us would disappear. If the message was clearly articulated in simple terms the non-political could understand…and that message was that voting Democrat takes money out of their pockets, keeps them unemployed, and jeopardizes the party-every-day world they live in, then MAYBE we can see guys we know sitting the election out, at least, if not pulling a GOP lever.

Is it fair to see California the same way?

What we’re getting at is this: we believe it is POSSIBLE, if not probable, to get through to blind party voters…if the election is kept strictly to economic concerns, employment, and addresses the angst and uncertainty people are feeling now. People are scared, and Democrats have done nothing to make the situation better. They’ve in fact made it worse.

Now, Democrats and the MSM will try to make SOCIAL issues the focus, as they always do, since social issues are emotional ones and that leads to the default, blind party loyalty voting the LGBTQ community, in particular, engages in.

But, if Republicans can articulate an honest, clear, directed ECONOMIC message…we think there’s a chance that could actually be listened to, for once, because of how bad things really are for so many guys we know.

Maybe this isn’t true for Californians. You can’t lump all Liberals together. Gay male libs might be totally different from straight female California libs, for instance. The DNC has a magical hold over certain people, and we wonder what it will take to break that spell. Is it one counter-spell to de-thrall them all, or does each individual identity voting bloc in the Democrat coalition need to be addressed and targeted separately to concern troll them into staying home in November…or even fire them up to vote GOP for the first time ever.

What are your thoughts on this?

Do you think it’s possible to really take down Barbara Boxer?

We think it could happen…we want to see it happen. So, we just need to figure out how to MAKE it happen.

Class vs. Crass: A History of First Ladies

Posted at February 17, 2010 by HillBuzz // Class vs Crass, Featured Content, Hillbuzz, Hillbuzz Graphics, Multimedia

H/t Chrissy the Hyphenated

If the White House and Utopia propaganda machine that is the American media keep insisting on comparing the current First Lady to Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis, then, no the photoshopping needed for them to make that comparison is most certainly NOT off limits.

We met Jackie Kennedy several times in the 80s.

Though she was not a friend, we knew who Jackie Kennedy really was.

We met Michelle Obama several times here in Chicago before the election.

Michelle Obama is no Jackie Kennedy.

Hat tip to Lloyd Bentson.

Wednesday Open Thread: February 17th, 2010

Posted at February 17, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

What’s on your minds this Wednesday?

************

For those of you who “give up something for Lent”, we’d like to make another suggestion, that’s proactive and paying things forward instead of just depriving yourself of something you like.

Can the “something you give up” be a little of your free time?

Can you consider volunteering somewhere a few times during Lent — like with the USO, or at a nursing home in your area, or as a reading tutor in a local school?

Here in Boystown, almost all of us grew up Catholic.  The last time any of us were in church was for a friend’s funeral.  We aren’t religious in the least, but the “give up something for Lent” is part of our cultural DNA.  After having a great time last night for Mardi Gras, today we’re thinking about how we can get more involved in the LGBTQ community here in Chicago.

We write about Boystown, and observe what goes on here, but aside from the personal volunteering we do for people who need some help, we aren’t part of any organizations in the community.  That’s something we are changing starting today — because not only could we give up some of our time for a good cause, but maybe we could help influence those organizations, bringing a different perspective and approach to the community.

So, we’re going to step things up a little starting today.

Give up chocolate or donuts if you want, and that’s fine and personal to you. But at least consider how you can give up one or two days a month to become part of something in your own communities…so that the time you are “giving up” for Lent goes towards something bigger than yourself.

Just a thought.

Two Year Anniversary Open Thread: February 17th, 2010

Posted at February 17, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

On February 17th, 2008, a group of us were huddled in an office in downtown Chicago working on YouTube videos to convince Texas voters to back Hillary Clinton in the upcoming primary/caucus in March.  Checking our personal email, we each had hundreds of messages from people we’d met during the campaign, asking for the latest updates, everyone pretty much repeating the same questions in each email.

We realized a better way to communicate with everyone was to just start a blog, where we could post the articles we found interesting regarding the campaign, as well as make our comments about what we heard through the grapevine and what analysis we could run counter to what the Utopia-adoring media was dishing out.

None of us had ever blogged before.  None of us knew a thing about websites.

But, we started the first blog on Blogspot.com on February 17th, 2008.  The name “HillBuzz” came to us immediately, and we ran with it.  Once Blogspot started being attacked continuously by Dr. Utopia’s supporters, and anti-Utopia blogs were being deleted suspiciously by Blogspot, we moved HillBuzz to wordpress.com, where it’s still hosted now.

We never dreamed we’d still be at this two years later, or that things would have evolved into what they are now.

We’re committed to keeping things running until at least Election Day 2012, where we hope we can celebrate together the defeat of Dr. Utopia and the beginning of his exile to Hawaii, where we imagine the egomaniac and narcissist will nurse his wounds Nixon-style, suffering the humiliation of watching his cult of personality crumble for good.

Some of you have been around since Day One, and we truly appreciate that.  Others have joined us at various points along the way.  It’s been a long, strange trip.  Who knows what the future holds, but we hope you stick with us and help us continue to evolve into whatever it is we’re becoming.

Thank you everyone for all of your support!  We couldn’t keep this up without you!
