UPDATE: Behold the State of the Union Address, circa 2013
***********************
What did you think of Palin’s speech?
In short, Sarah Heath Palin is the defacto Shadow President of the United States right now. We hope very much she runs for President in 2012. She could change the world. She can save this country. We listen to her and are awed.
And not a TelePrompTer in site.
Imagine that.
Go, Sarah, Go!
You say the word, and we’ll be your ground team. GLADLY. And we bet more than a few of our regulars on this site will join you too.
February 6, 2010 at 9:56 pm
Had to watch on C-SPAN.
Whore-Aldo was harshing my Sarah mellow! LOL
Sarah was so awesome, I’m still almost speechless and can’t talk about it because she makes me so happy!
February 6, 2010 at 9:58 pm
She is so REAL, and so HONEST! No wonder the politicos hate her!
February 6, 2010 at 9:59 pm
The convention is being broadcast on Internet TV.—- Www. PJTV.com

Good grief, what was Fox thinking…Geraldo just cut her off.
Stay with cspan! Best use of our tax dollars.
February 6, 2010 at 10:25 pm
I met Jerry once in person.
He is just as annoying as he is on the telly…only full sized.
February 6, 2010 at 10:27 pm
I believe CSPAN receives no tax dollars, nor does it accept advertising. Its funding comes from cable subscriber fees. It is beholden to no one.
February 7, 2010 at 12:27 am
I agree about Geraldo — he was talking over Breitbart’s intro, and for this reason I also switched over to CSPAN.
That said, I just watched Part 1 of the speech here, from Fox, and Gov. Palin comes off WAY better than she did on CSPAN.
On CSPAN, she just didn’t look right — the lighting and maybe even the camera angles used didn’t were unflattering — and when they showed shots of the hall, the place had a dark, grim, low-rent look about it.
I don’t know if whoever shot the speech for CSPAN did this on purpose, or because they’re bare-bones and that’s just how it is, operating on their limited budget; but going from their version to Fox’s, I felt like I’d watched two different speeches.
Anyone else notice this?
February 7, 2010 at 1:43 am
I watched coverage on CSPAN yesterday and I definitely noticed camera man high jinx. While a speaker was talking, they’d shoot random empty tables, people walking out of the room, people talking to each other and looking at their watches. Pretty obvious.
February 7, 2010 at 2:03 am
“they’d shoot random empty tables, people walking out of the room, people talking to each other and looking at their watches.”
Exactly. Plus the angles and lighting looked off, dim and sort, so that when they focused on people talking to each other or getting up, it had sort of a deflated feeling.
Something was definitely up w/CSPAN’s coverage of the speech.
February 7, 2010 at 2:04 am
Oops, I meant to write “dim and sort of askew”.
February 6, 2010 at 10:04 pm
i know this doesn’t count, but i dreamed last night that i met sarah in the dairy section of the grocery store and she told me she had planned to hire me to work on her campaign until she found out i was too argumentative.
off topic. but i had to share. it’s been making me laugh all day.
in my dream, i chased her to the parking lot assuring her i could change (which i’m not entirely sure is true). she said “i’ll take that into consideration.”
February 6, 2010 at 10:10 pm
What a great dream, Indie! Don’t despair. Tact can be learned. Believe me, I am like you… very outspoken. But I had to learn to temper my speech, and it can be learned. You may be destined to a Palin job afterall.
February 6, 2010 at 10:13 pm
thank you, babchie! you’re a sweetie!
i love this site and the people who hang out here!

While you’re at My Webshots, you can also check out the little pic of me and hubby that was taken on our 25th anniversary. <3

You are so talented! Beautiful, beautiful jewelry! :)
February 6, 2010 at 10:07 pm
I just watched Gov. Palin speak at the TPC, she is so awesome and lovely. That’s really the only way to describe her. She certainly has a way of making you feel as if you’ve known her all your life. There is Hope!
February 6, 2010 at 10:10 pm
Just finished watching – she was fantastic – as usual!! Geraldo has to go change his pants.
February 6, 2010 at 10:12 pm
Sarah Smackdown!
February 6, 2010 at 10:12 pm
Oh, My GOD!
She was absolutely on FIRE!
HillBuzz:
I know you don’t have TV anymore, but watch her on PJTV.
Honestly, the woman has “it”.
I’ve worked in Hollywood, with media, with PR people, with celebrities, and you can’t FAKE this.
She should be the next President of the United States. I pray that she runs.
It’s hilarious to hear the obvious “trolls” call in to CSPAN to deride Sarah. HAAAA!
We’re on to you SUCKAS!!!!
February 6, 2010 at 10:15 pm
for anyone who wants to call c-span, I bunch of astrotruf idiots are hogging the lines
indies: 202-585-3887
tea party member:202-585-3888
repubs: 202-585-3885
February 6, 2010 at 10:17 pm
They are obviously paid TROLLS.
THANK YOU, Hillbuzz for making me smarter every day. I GET it, and am now working with a local candidate on how to fight these fakes.
THANK YOU!!!!
February 6, 2010 at 10:22 pm
yes they were.. 3 of them used the same exact line.
“she means well, but things are so complicated”
same chit I heard with hillary
“she’s good, but sooo polariazing”
February 6, 2010 at 10:31 pm
oh crap. the indie line is ringing after several attempts and busy. now i’m nervous!
February 6, 2010 at 10:17 pm
The line I enjoyed was ” We need a commander in chief not a professor of law behind a lectern”.
February 6, 2010 at 10:17 pm
WOW!! Just Wow, that was graet. I love it when she told conservatives to just plough through all the liberal lies and bias, don’t give in to their crap.
Also when she called the Dems on faking bipartisanship, that was awesome.
February 6, 2010 at 10:30 pm
Did anyone else notice the notes written on inner wrist and palm of left hand.??
February 6, 2010 at 10:39 pm
nope, I tivoed it, and looking at it right now.
She looked at her palm, but she was already talking at that point.
I really do not see this “palm- reading”
during the Q&A, she looked at her palm to put her microphone on her palm, so I doubt she’s reading from her palm.
So, no, I am wathcing it replay on tivo right now, I see nothing.
February 6, 2010 at 10:39 pm
This is an email sent to me by a Patriot who I choose not to identify.
Don’t worry. He’ll never read this blog, but his thoughts make me think of the Tea Party Movement:
George Washington was America’s first President, serving two 4-year terms from 1789 to 1797. After the successful war for independence against the British, the new national (Federal) government assumed the war debts of the 13 colonies. But by 1791 the government had failed to retire any principal on the debt and interest costs were rising. Alexander Hamilton (Treasury Secretary) proposed a tax on all distilled spirits and Congress passed this new excise tax. Large distillers paid 6 cents/gallon with one payment due each year. Smaller distillers paid 9 cents/gallon and had to remit every month. (SOUND FAMILIAR?)
The smaller distillers tended to be farmers located in the western counties (western frontier) of each state. Since roads were bad or non-existant (SOUND FAMILIAR?) they converted their excess grain (before it rotted) into spirits which required less volume (cube) per dollar to ship back east for sale. The tens of 1,000s of small farmers hated the tax, especially the 50% surcharge. So in 1794, led by counties in western Pennsylvania, they began an armed rebellion. THE WHISKEY REBELLION.
Albert Gallatin of Fayette County, PA was a moderate who became leader and spokesman for the rebels. ALthough he was a moderate and advised against use of arms, the Federal government dubbed him a terrorist and issued arrest warrants.
Ultimately, President Washington had to call-up (Nationalize) state militia to put down the farmers’ armed rebellion. More than 12,950 soldiers were organized, more than the number of troops used by Washington’s army to defeat the British.
When a squad of miltia came to arrest Gallatin, he got them so drunk that they forgot their mission and let him escape. About 20 other leaders were arrested, but all charges were dismissed. One prisoner died in jail before he could be released. Two Minneapolis police offices happened to be in Pennsylvania at the time and they beat him to death in his cell.
After Washington left office, he began distilling whiskey on his Mount Vernon estate (farm). By the time of his death in 1799 he was the largest distiller in the country!
So, after 212 years very little has changed. The Federal government passes a new tax which favors big business, the roads are bad, individual citizens are pissed off, and elected officials use their government service for personal gain! What else is new?
Let’s all raise our glasses to Albert Gallatin, a patriot with a constant hangover!
February 6, 2010 at 11:13 pm
Tamara, you’re right, I missed the intent and got hung up on the history.
Raising my glass of wine to Albert Gallatin!
February 6, 2010 at 10:40 pm
I love that. No teleprompter from this REAL person! HAA!
February 6, 2010 at 11:02 pm
“Two Minneapolis police offices happened to be in Pennsylvania at the time and they beat him to death in his cell.”
Say what? Following from Wikipedia:
Minneapolis is the largest city in the state of Minnesota in the United States, and the county seat of Hennepin County. The origin and growth of the city was spurred by the proximity of Fort Snelling, the first major United States military presence in the area, and by its location on Saint Anthony Falls, which provided power for sawmills and flour mills.
Fort Snelling was established in 1819, at the confluence of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers, and soldiers began using the falls for waterpower. When land became available for settlement, two towns were founded on either side of the falls: Saint Anthony, on the east side, and Minneapolis, on the west side. The two towns later merged into one city in 1872.
Please tell your Patriot to take a look at what he is passing around.
Back OT: I’m a retired Navy veteran and I would have been proud to serve under Sarah as my Commander in Chief. I still work with the Navy and even though a majority of the military won’t openly discuss politics, some of them do, and they’re horrified by the man in charge.
I am in agreement with the people at the convention tonight – Run, Sarah, RUN!
February 6, 2010 at 11:05 pm
SJ in VA:
You missed the point of the article, but that’s okay.
I’m sure my friend misses exact historical evidence.
The point is:
FIGHT BACK .
DUH.
February 6, 2010 at 10:51 pm
I, too, taped it. I was able to grab a shot of the palm of her hand. No words were there. Also none on her fingers. Her jacket sleeve came down to her wrist and there was a bracelet on her wrist, so I fail to see how she could have read anything on her wrist.
Troll?
February 7, 2010 at 2:17 pm
HuffPo (barf) putting her down for four 1 word notes on her palm, with pics, but no mention of Oba-Marx and his teleprompters??? She’s on Fox right now! Her brain is cruising at 100% and the facts are flowing true. God love her!!
February 6, 2010 at 10:19 pm
She’s brilliant as usual. The only flub I saw so far is she accidentally said “Alaska” once when she meant “America.”

hmm… just watched huckbee on fox with idiot geraldo, and he looked scared.
cannot stand geraldo.. yuck!
please Fox News fire this idiot and use your money for some real talent
February 7, 2010 at 2:42 am
Heck…fire BOTH of them.
The Huckster makes me puke, with his dyed hair, big gut and holier-than-thou BS.
February 7, 2010 at 3:12 am
Cheers!
February 7, 2010 at 2:20 pm
Amen!
February 6, 2010 at 10:23 pm
Also just finished watching Sarah speak — I feel more optimistic after hearing her speak of our path forward must be guided by our Constitution, Love of Country, and Common Sense!
One of the best lines for me was one directed as Utopia. . .After the election results in NJ, Virginia, and Massachusetts, it is time to stop talking and start listening!
She left the stage with everyone wanting to hear more. . .sign of a great speaker!
Wonder if Utopia was watching on a jumbo screen somewhere — I’ll bet he cannot ignore her speech and will probably make shots back at her in the coming weeks!
As for me, I feel I just got a booster shot of optimism!
February 6, 2010 at 11:08 pm
I think you are right that he will not be able to control himself because he is a thin skinned mean spirited arrogant bully. But that would be the absolute WORST move he could make politically. After that hideous attempt of appearing “prayerful” last week, to attack a woman who has no office and at this point is not running for one, he would appear weak and running scared of someone he once intimated was a “pig”.
Hmmmm. Now that I’ve thought it through, I hope he does attack her.
February 7, 2010 at 3:14 am
She’s got him by the short hairs.
February 7, 2010 at 1:11 am
When asked if he planned to read her book, Obama said no, so I’m quite certain he didn’t watch.
February 6, 2010 at 10:23 pm
Thought SP did well. She is not the greatest of orators, but speaks with an ordinary nervousness. I was rooting for her to do well. Only two issues.
#1. Mistake with saying “Alaska” as becon of light comment instead of America.
#2. The notes written on her left hand palm. Watch the Liberal Attack Left go after her for that BIG TIME!! Most noticable during 3rd question when asked about the top 3 priorities. She positioned her palm directly under the bottom of the mike and glanced at what she had written.
I would anticipate comments about Obama needing TOTUS compared to Sarah needing sharpie etc. etc. Overall, personally I found it kinda regular and endearing, but it does suggest some advanced notification of the Q&A at the end.
I thought she did well. But, I bet the house that #2 is going to be the mother of all negative attack spins!!!!!
February 6, 2010 at 10:29 pm
I got no issue with it.
overall, I thought she did very well.
I actually did not notice that looking at her palm. and I was wathcing it live on C-span. sersioly they are going to go after her for that? for those that still watch MSM, I feel sorry for them at this point.
I did notice that Alaska versus America slip up, not a big deal.
Again, a very good speech.
loved her laugh lines… “no body messes with Joe”
and HEY… LSM… She ain’t spliting the repub party, democrats/independents like me are voting and campaigning for conservatives for the first time b/c of the tea party movement, and love Sarah Palin for introducing us to what conservatism really means!
February 6, 2010 at 10:36 pm
It would’nt worry me too much if it were not for the exact moment (question) that she used the notes for. They are going to spin it to make her look stupid. That could be a problem. It was something that any “ordinary” speaker would do. That the problem. The criticism shat she faces is not “ordinary”.
February 6, 2010 at 10:41 pm
they are going to make her look stupid no matter what….it will always be something… they have their product to prop up to the consequence of anyone else
let’s just move on… :)
February 6, 2010 at 11:16 pm
Ahhh, I’ve got it:
She was looking at her WATCH!
As a speaker, I know that sometimes I have to look at my watch to stay within a time frame.
Some speakers turn their watches around to the inside so that it’s not that obvious that they are looking at their watches.
SOLVED! Oh, and I’m sorry that I said I wouldn’t be back to comment.
I’m just so excited for Sarah!!!
February 6, 2010 at 11:21 pm
Or as Sarah said…”Just plow through it.”
And by the way, I Tivo’d it and it looked to me like she was looking down to change her mike from one hand to another. I looked very carefully and I did not see any “writing” on her hand.
Bottom line: Like Reagan, she’s going to have to plow through tons of criticism. Hollywood and Harvard elites laughed at him when he ran for governor of California – and won – twice. They split their sides about him being a B actor when he ran against a sitting president of his own party – and almost won. And they were ROTFLTA’sO when he ran for president – both times – and he won – both times. Plain talk with pleasant and truthful sarcasm. It’s what they have in common. Those moneyed “swells” have already blown everything they have at her.
By the way…she was covered by FOX, CNN, MSLSD, and CSPAN. So despite what they threw at her, she’s got their attention.
February 7, 2010 at 12:01 am
“By the way…she was covered by FOX, CNN, MSLSD, and CSPAN.”
MSLSD — heh. Very good, my fellow Levinian.
February 6, 2010 at 10:30 pm
I noticed that look at her hand and thought the same thing, but then I wasn’t sure that’s what it was because I didn’t see anything on her hand. Also, she gave a quick glance to her hand but then her eyes sort of went forward a bit.
I think for someone to make fun of her for that, they would have to prove she had something on her hand, which would be fairly easy to do. Not that the left will bother with the facts or anything.
February 6, 2010 at 10:38 pm
I watched it on fox. There were several moments when it was obvious. My wife noticed it when she was at the podium. Left inside wrist to bottom of hand. It’ll blow up easy on hi-def. The moment she looked at it is the issues I see, not the notes themselves, but the question she used them for.
February 6, 2010 at 10:58 pm
You’re the only one claiming to have seen anything on her hand. Unless it was invisible ink, I don’t know how you are so sure she was reading something on her hand? I did notice what you were talking about during the Q & A, but saying that you noticed her looking at her wrists during the speech is kind of odd. I didn’t see that at all. Not to mention our POTUS has to use teleprompters to talk to grade school kids. Gimme a break!
February 6, 2010 at 11:06 pm
G8rMom7, I love Sarah. C-SPAN shots you can’t see. But, FOX you can. At podium she did’nt use during speech. It was just visible when she raised her left arm. I never said I saw her looking at her wrists during speech. It looked like the only time she used it was when commentator asked the question about what 3 things would she recommend. I love her. I thought she did great. But, I thought oops, I could see the left pundits capturing that shot and using it to reflect a couple of issues. I will mention no more in the hope that me and wife were only ones that spotted. However, unlikely that is.
February 7, 2010 at 12:18 am
You said above your wife noticed it when she was at the podium. And I watched it on FOX too and me as well as numerous other people in posts above did not see any ink on her hands. Glad you love Sarah…I just don’t think she was looking at her palms. Assuming you are NOT a troll, you have to realize that they do exist and search for stuff like this from supposed Sarah supporters so they can blow it out and make it into a big fat hairy deal!
February 7, 2010 at 2:45 am
Oh, give it up, already!
As Sarah said, ‘WHO CARES?!’
February 7, 2010 at 6:37 pm
someone will whine about something– give me a break!!!! SHE DID BEAUTIFUL!!! LEAVE IT BE AND MOVE ON!!!!! NO TELEPROMPTER IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR MOST FOLK AND IF NOT –GET OVER IT AND MOVE ON!!!
February 6, 2010 at 10:35 pm
I’m sure Saturday Night Live will have to bring in Tina Fey next week.
The crib notes — real world and endearing.
Nothing wrong with knowing some of the questions in advance — if any Lib critiques, we can just point to Utopia speaking to his own party’s Congressional members last week — the questions – from the Congressman and the Utopia answers were scripted.
No matter what Sarah does, the Left will smear her — she is after all, a Conservative and a woman.
February 6, 2010 at 10:39 pm
I just replayed it.. I didnt see anything on her hand???
Looks like a shadow to me.
Did you see her choke up after she talked about Reagan and disabled children? I had to rewind to make sure.. and she did.
I love Sarah Palin!
February 6, 2010 at 10:44 pm
Look at the part when seated and the guy asks her a question about what 3 things she would ____? It was around 3rd or 4th question. She is holding mic in right hand and puts fingers of left hand under bottom of mic to read while speaking. Left hand, wrist to palm. Sharpie. We watched on FOX, it was obvious.
February 6, 2010 at 10:56 pm
hmmm… well I watched it again and there isnt anything on her hand.
She opens her palm several times and there isnt anything.
Maybe I am blind but I have watched it now 3 times and I dont see anything.
I saw she looks at her hand but several times before and after her palm is open and there isnt anything…
Oh well.
February 6, 2010 at 11:28 pm
It was OBVIOUS????
Huh?
Wow.
Let’s STRING HER UP! OMG, she dared NOT to use a teleprompter!
A SHARPIE? Do you know how obvious that black ink would be from the moment she came onstage til the time she left?
YOU sundancefan, are a TROLL.
sundancefan? DUH.
February 7, 2010 at 1:23 am
If you watch her hands during the speech, she waves her hands quite frequently and there is nothing written on her hand. Unless she wrote something during the minute between the end of the speech and the Q & A sections.
February 7, 2010 at 1:37 am
I just finished watching it on Fox, in HD on a big screen. I saw it too. Could have been anything though…maybe Piper wrote her a note of encouragement…
February 7, 2010 at 2:47 am
sundance, you’re delusional. Give it up. This is HillBuzz, and we ain’t buyin’ it.
February 7, 2010 at 6:38 pm
SUN –GET A LIFE!!
February 6, 2010 at 11:18 pm
So what if she had notes…I don’t see a problem with that. I was a public speaker for many years and I carried cards with me to the podium. Just let it go and enjoy what she said…who gives a rats patootie if she wrote notes all up and down her arms, legs whatever…she gave a great speech and only flubbed once that I could hear.
February 7, 2010 at 1:44 pm

February 6, 2010 at 11:15 pm
What the heck is your hang-up with looking at her hands.
What is your point?
You think she is trying to cheat at her own speech?
Troll?
February 6, 2010 at 11:29 pm
Obama “CHEATS” on every speech he gives!
HE READS FROM A TELEPROMPTER.
February 7, 2010 at 12:23 am
And he STILL doesn’t get it right. His team will probably go to spelling thing phonetically after the corpse-man flub.
Do you think they put in all those “uh, uh, um, uh’s” or is that him just trying to sound out the words?
February 6, 2010 at 11:48 pm
OMG….Give us a break….
She. wrote. on. her. wrist.
Right.
Because she was too stupid to think about using notecards?

I am a foreigner. I would rather listen to Sarah Palin speak than the clown in the White House. I absolutely hate hearing his voice…
February 7, 2010 at 3:32 pm
The lame scream media will do anything, even criticize her use of sexy skirts to show her legs when she is a Christian…whatever ever!
February 7, 2010 at 6:39 pm
THEY NEED TO GET A LIFE ALSO!!!
February 6, 2010 at 10:27 pm
Huck is in a pickle…if she runs as a third party candidate which he keeps talking about, she’ll take votes away from him and he won’t win. If she runs as a Repub, he doesn’t even get in the race.
And Juan Williams obviously didn’t even watch the speech…all he could come up with was the TP movement was simply anti-Obama. They are but that is not all it’s about. Moron!
February 6, 2010 at 10:35 pm
Juan is a an idiot.
If you have not noticed, he has 2 gigs… one on Fox News, and one on NPR.
He is nothing but a liberal on NPR and moderate on Fox News.
I was listening to him ON THE SAME DAY — in the morning heard him on NPR and in the evening on FOX.
pretty stunning the 180 he did. So, really who the hell knows what he thinks?? I really don’t care. Nor should you.
These pundits really don’t get b/c of the internet we can instantly get our information.. completely UNFILTERED without their crap to clutter things up, and we now make up our own minds.
And this is why the LSM is scared as well, the LSM only has power if people believe them, the thing is they are so freaking biased at this point, even democrats/indies like me can see thru them and therefore do not trust one word they say
February 6, 2010 at 10:53 pm
Dude did you see Juan’s sweater ? He totally lost credibility wearing that .
February 6, 2010 at 11:28 pm
LOL! I thought I was the only one who thought “what’s up with that awful sweater?” Well, maybe his mother in law gave it to him and he wanted to make some points?
February 7, 2010 at 6:41 pm
JUAN IS PATHETIC I WOULD THINK THAT ROGER COULD FIND SOME ONE (LIB) WORTH LISTENING TO BESIDES THIS PITIFUL LITTLE MAN!!
February 6, 2010 at 10:41 pm
I really don’t think SP is looking to run as a 3rd party candidate. I think she is trying to move the political spectrum to the right, to responsibility to THE PEOPLE.
I think she is trying to send a message to all candidates that the conservative Tea Party can make or break any candidate, so they better take notice.
She may be available as a candidate, however I don’t think that is her primary cause. I believe that she wants the Republican Party to readopt the ideals of Reagan. If not, she will support those candidates who do, regardless of their party.
February 6, 2010 at 11:09 pm
She has stated repeatedly that she is not in favor of a third party. I don’t understand why the idiots in the media keep bringing it up! I yell at my tv every time one of them mentions it. Bringing the Republican party into alignment with the Tea Party principles is what she wants to do. I’m praying that she can do it.
February 6, 2010 at 11:15 pm
Sarah will not run as a third party candidate
February 6, 2010 at 11:16 pm
Yeah– Juan “who has his head so far-up Obama’s ASS” Williams,,, doesn’t disappoint!
February 7, 2010 at 5:34 am
You would not want Huckabee to be the front runner anyway.
There is only one other worthy candidate and that is Mitt Romney.
February 7, 2010 at 5:15 pm
Romney? You mean the guy with youtube videos all over of him saying to Kennedy “I’m more pro abortion than you” and “I’m more pro gay than you”; and then, when running for POTUS decided he was anti abortion and anti-guy? THAT Romney? If so, he either lied like a trooper when he was on MA government, or he lied like a trooper when running for POTUS. Either way, I don’t want ANOTHER liar in for POTUS. I’d rather have Romney than Obama; but it’d be just trading a D liar for a R liar.

I forgot to add what a pleasure it is to have a speech delivered without teleprompters and a constant “tennis-match” head bobble!
February 6, 2010 at 10:43 pm
YESSSSS!
February 7, 2010 at 5:36 am
and a pleasure to see someone using eye contact.
February 7, 2010 at 5:16 pm
AND how wonderful to not hear “Uh”… “um”… or “Let me be clear” in a speech!!!
February 6, 2010 at 10:31 pm
“I will live and die for the American people….”
Isn’t THAT what a president is supposed to sound like?
February 6, 2010 at 10:38 pm
You betcha! ;) lol
February 6, 2010 at 11:29 pm
And Amen!
February 6, 2010 at 10:40 pm
That’s exactly what a future president sounds like….oh yeah!!
I think I’ll put some money down on intrade.
February 6, 2010 at 10:39 pm
Here’s the full speech @ C-Span:

Exact moment 50:55 on this video. CNN and FOX camera angles were from rear of room C-span camera from stage right.

February 6, 2010 at 11:18 pm
Yeah, well Obama didn’t even write his own books, if you want to go down that path.
I know one thing, Obama’s next speech is going to echo Palin’s.
I just want to know if he will be able to deliver it without a teleprompter. Now, he might have to have notes on his hands, and Biden’s, and Meechel’s.
February 7, 2010 at 1:07 am
Well, BO has tried to sound like A. Lincoln & Reagan. Why not Sarah?
Ha! Too funny.
February 7, 2010 at 5:18 pm
I’ll want to see that. I think O would gag on trying to get out that he would live and die for America and Americans. It would get stuck on his throat and he’d choke to death on it. Hmmm.. maybe not such a terrible thought for him to try to copy that speech of hers after all? LOL..

She uses her hands a lot when she speaks. I’ve noticed it before, I’m one of those people too so it stands out to me. How in the world could she have something written on her palm, when she flashed her hand palm facing out to the audience so many, many times. Well, she obviously didn’t, but she does have a habit of touching her nails (I noticed this during the GB interview) and flicking her nails together. My guess is that she does this when she’s a bit uncomfortable or nervous.
This woman has that special something to be sure, and I hope she is preparing for a run in 2012. She stands out above all the rest. Remember people, the msm said all the same crap about RR, and he still won.

I. LOVE. SARAH. PALIN.

She told us we could make this country work again. I like that. To get behind us to cheer us on to believe in our country. We need that in a leader.

In Russia government make media say what they want – even if lie.
In USA “mainstream media” try make government what they want – even if lie..

ok, to the person who keeps talking about her palms. I have tivo and am able to zoom onto her palms. When she is sitting down, she opens her left palm often, and I freeze framed it and zoomed in, and saw nothing written on her palm or inner wrist.
So prior to 50:55 point in the c-span video you mention in one of your posts, she does look down at her left palm.
BUT, when I zoomed onto her palms prior to that time, there is NOTHING on her palms.
Yes, she looked at her left palm, but there is nothing written there.
At this point, lets drop this. THere is nothing to this, no story here.
February 6, 2010 at 11:36 pm
she is wearning a bracelet on that left wrist, it almost looks like one of those army bracelets (but I could not tell completley).
February 7, 2010 at 12:28 am
She actually has notes on the lectern. Perfectly fine with me. Reminder of high points just makes sense.

We have 67″ tv and watched in hi-def on Fox. We noticed. Obviously no-one else did. No big deal. We just panicked thinking “oh God, what fun Olberman would have with this”. We just did’nt want to see her made fun of. That’s all. Sarah Palin is a true patriot. We love her.
February 6, 2010 at 11:56 pm
You DO realize that because you’ve fixated on this one thing, and added nothing else to the discussion other than this negative, bracketed with “but we love Sarah”…
EVEN WHEN NO ONE ELSE CAN SEE IT…
Make you look like someone who hates Sarah and wants to disrupt the group.
Just saying your feet are looking big and hairy.
February 7, 2010 at 12:07 am
sorry, sorry, sorry.
Great speech.
February 7, 2010 at 5:40 pm
I’m finally getting to reading the comments here the day after. This is the “big thing” that MSM is doing. My guess is that they couldn’t come up with a REAL complaint against her, so they MADE UP something and handed it out as the “talking points” of the dems and MSM. And, for some reason, sundancefan got a copy of the “talking points” and was well prepared to “insert” in right away! Your troll trainers should be proud of you sundancefan! You did your job well by planting this so quickly, and sticking to it so well. The only problems are:
1) we LOVE Sarah Palin and aren’t going to be distracted from her THAT easily
and
2) you didn’t count on so many who could easily disprove these “talking points”!
February 6, 2010 at 11:59 pm
understood, they will make fun of Sarah no matter what.
The thing is, the people listening to him is shrinking enourmously.
there is a reason why shows like moron chris Mathews are only getting 58,000 viewers some nights.

‘Cause your mouth is ruining your reputation, so called.
February 6, 2010 at 11:36 pm
OMGosh! Dr. Utopia just said, “If everyone would just turn off cable news, FOX, CNN and the blogs and just talk to the guy down the street…” Whatthe..? Don’t be informed? Don’t look for intelligent commentary on the events of the day?
Just because EVERYONE is criticizing “the one” he says we should tune out on all our news and analytical sources? How hypocrital can he be?
February 6, 2010 at 11:41 pm

Guy Down the street: “He’s a freakin’ dumba$$!”
February 6, 2010 at 11:38 pm
I have one more thing to say about Sarah tonight and that is that JerseyGrandpa was watching with me and when she was seated to take questions he said, “Great legs!” and then he looked at me and said…”not as great as yours…” Hahaha. Gotta love that quick mind…and that loyalty. And that’s why I think she could win on her own for any office she wants. She believes in our country; she wants the best for everyone; she’s honest and truthful; and she has great legs!! [and a gorgeous husband, and the sweetest kids...]
February 7, 2010 at 1:22 am
It’s obvious why you two are still together after enough years to be Grandparents! :o))))
February 6, 2010 at 11:42 pm
She’s pretty darn amazing. Nothing energizes people quite like Sarah Palin.
I have to laugh, some of her detractors keep trying to argue that she isn’t fit to lead. Hello! She’s been leading for the past year and a half.
Her speech was definitely more partisan and her Republican leanings were more pronounced. I don’t believe she has any intention of running third party.
February 7, 2010 at 12:04 am
I just started watching Sarah and I notice she has notes at the podium. If she has notes, no reason to write anything on her wrist. She might have to occassionally look at an outline she’s written, but Obuma must look at every single word or he’s lost.
Go, Sarah!
February 7, 2010 at 12:06 am
If any of you read her book and remember the V.P. debate (she had a big bandaid on her left palm) you’d know the shadow is the scarring from her fall when she was out for a run at McCain’s place. She said she should have got stiches, but was too embarrassed so it left an ugly scar.
Btw, Loved. The. Speech.

February 7, 2010 at 12:22 am
PJTV has it on their site (free with registration) in it’s uninterupted intirety…plus Breitbart’s introduction. If you have time check out Breitbart’s speech at the convention! There ARE more tapes and he warned the 2010 election cycle was going to make or break for the MSM…I CANNOT WAIT!!!
February 7, 2010 at 12:28 am
I haven’t visited this site regularly (until today) and so there’s surely some history I’m missing. I like Sarah Palin and I’m glad everyone on this site does too, but I’m just curious. I wouldn’t think that Palin’s policies and political philosophy would be that attractive to people who supported Hillary Clinton.
I’ve got to tell you, I would never have supported Mrs. Clinton. (again, as I noted in another comment – I was appalled by what was done to Mrs. Clinton in the primaries. I didn’t think sexism was that big of a deal until I saw it practiced by the Left.) Also, I’m glad to be a comrade in arms with moderates, independents, etc., to kick out the Leftists.
So – and I don’t mean this at all sarcastically or snarkily – those of you who consider yourselves supporters of both Mrs. Clinton & Mrs. Palin – can you tell me how you view their disparate policy positions and how you support (or would support) both?
February 7, 2010 at 12:34 am
Does everyone spot the concern-troll Judith at work?
Can anyone dissect this post and point out all the tell-tale troll things Judith has done here?
Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
February 7, 2010 at 12:22 pm
boyz’ this is the same person who’s post was the sample “TROLL-DISSECTION 101″
the wording and phrasing are similar, assuming one party compared to the other,,,etc. Identifying themselves as a supporter of HILLBUZZ and yet completely ignoring that it’s neutral ground for both Sarah and Hillary..” I know there is more, but’ I believe this is some of the clue’s..”
“weak I know” but still learning..” :)
February 7, 2010 at 2:34 pm
things like:
“I like Sarah Palin and I’m glad everyone on this site does too” – trying to make the connection with readers
“I’ve got to tell you I would never have supported Mrs Clinton” – distancing from Hilary (heh I do not like Hillary either but I never phrase it like that)
“I am glad to be a comrade in arms” – RED FLAG
“I wouldn’t think that Palin’s policies and political philosophy would be that attractive to people who supported Hillary Clinton.
Then the last question
“can you tell me how you view their disparate policy policy positions”….. typical question in trying to drive a wedge amongst the Hillary and Palin supporters.

Thanks Maggie–
just going back-over my previous post’s…Thank’s for pointing that out to me!

February 7, 2010 at 1:04 am
My answer to your question: I would be happy with either since I view them as pragmatic and lovers of our country. Yes, they may sit on opposites sides of center, but since neither is an extremist, and I am not so ideologically set in my political views, I could live with either one as president. I also believe in compromise on some proposals, so as long as I think that a proposal is basically sound and not in the least harmful to our country, I will grudgingly accept
some proposals that I may not agree with 100%. It’s probably why I consider myself a centrist or moderate.
By the way, sorry that you were accuses of being a troll. I think your newness to this blog, which has become very sensitive to trolling, has led to the accusation.
February 7, 2010 at 11:44 am
Now you are apologizing for what the Boyz write on their OWN Blog?
February 7, 2010 at 4:31 pm
No. I feel bad for people when they feel wrongly attacked.
By the way, screw you.
February 7, 2010 at 4:45 pm
And I doubt that drive by trolls would defend themselves as she did, and donate their hard earned money to them to boot. Yes, his/her writing might have had what some believe as trollish aspects, but in reality, I think that there are more than a few people, who probably are not so ideologically driven, that wonder the same thing that was asked. Personally, I find the question interesting and thought provoking. There’s no need to get snotty with me porkchop, so zip it. When you show me a little civility and respect, you’ll get mine in return. You may not know me, but that’s no reason to be a Pelosi.
February 7, 2010 at 6:40 pm
Wow you are just lovely. I don’t care IF you know me, I’ve posted “civilty” to you many times before, but I certainly won’t bother to respond to you anymore.
and YES I do think it was rude, to apoligize for what the boyz write on THEIR blog. Your follow up to me just proved you are rude.
and I think it was pretty funny yo came back to write even more nasty things to me 15 min after your first post.

February 7, 2010 at 12:38 am
Wow! I just got done watching the first video, and I had to break away to leave this comment before I continue to watch the remaining videos. Sarah Palin is absolutely FANTASTIC. The handful of times that she skewered FObama and his supporting cast made me smile, and shake my head in agreement. She can dish it as good as (actually much better) than what is directed at her. I believe it is her time, and I pray that she continues to present herself in this manner. She mocks the mockers, and now that America has gotten a year’s taste of the sour left, many will love this sweet revenge of a god fearing, family oriented, American loving, and STRONG female. So nice to see this before I go to bed tonight.
February 7, 2010 at 1:14 am
This is way off topic, but I have the song Lark Ascending by the composer
Vaughan Williams on in the background and it is absolutely beautiful. I never thought of myself as a big classical music lover, but I guess I am changing (just like my politics). It’s sooo relaxing.
February 7, 2010 at 1:35 am
Sarah did great as usual. I like the revolution comment. Time to sack and pillage the elites in Washington and New York.
February 7, 2010 at 1:39 am
I’ve now listened to the second video. I think I heard two sentences in which Sarah misspoke with one dealing with “billions and billions of dollars in bonuses”. I think I heard her correctly on that. She should have said millions, not billions. Also, when she was listing FObama’s foreign policy weaknesses, I think that she should have specifically mentioned the situation in Honduras because it would have resonated with most constitution loving and democracy loving Americans. Still an excellent speech, though.
February 7, 2010 at 4:42 pm
4 Billion was going to ACORN. I’m sure her reference was right. We are into the Trillions now.
February 7, 2010 at 2:00 am
I can tell from this speech: She is so running for President. And more power to her. Sarah Palin is the “EveryAmerican” candidate, and the first one to make me want to stand up and cheer since the inimitable Ronnie himself. I have no doubt that this woman knows how to create jobs, and I have no doubt that she would take no crap from America’s enemies, unlike the grovelling Dr. Utopia. Go, Sarahcuda!
Palin/Petraeus 2012, baby!
February 7, 2010 at 2:10 am
I finished listening to the speech and I have to applaud Sarah. She is real hope, not the manufactured hype currently in DC. Bravo!
February 7, 2010 at 2:26 am
I remember when libs accused Bush of having some kind of device under his jacket during the 2004 debate with Kerry. They spent hours trying to determine the “bulge” they thought they saw on his back and some believed it was some kind of pace maker, or a communication device.
LOL … this is going to be the same thing with Sarah looking at her palm. I have no idea what she was doing, but I’ve seen the woman in two live speeches now. She doesn’t need crib notes.
February 7, 2010 at 4:42 am
In reply to a comment above about watching Gov. Palin’s speech on CSPAN on TV, I wrote:
“On CSPAN, she just didn’t look right — the lighting and maybe even the camera angles used didn’t were unflattering — and when they showed shots of the hall, the place had a dark, grim, low-rent look about it.
… going from their version to Fox’s, I felt like I’d watched two different speeches.”
I just turned on the TV and Fox is rerunning Gov. Palin’s speech, and the difference is even pronounced on cable than it is watching the Fox videos online.
I don’t know what they did, if it was on purpose or who knows — but please check it out, because I’d like to hear some other opinions regarding this.
February 7, 2010 at 4:50 am
Whoops — made a couple of sloppy errors in the post above. My meaning is probably clear, but just in case it isn’t, what I meant to say is that the camera angles on the CSPAN coverage were not at all flattering to the Gov. or to the venue itself.
Also: “the difference is even *more* pronounced”…
Sorry for the sloppiness, but in fact *I’m* not to blame — IT’S GEORGE BUSH’S FAULT!
February 7, 2010 at 3:26 pm
I noticed that too. I watched it on Fox except for the parts where Geraldo was blah-blah-blahing. Can NOT stand that man.
February 7, 2010 at 4:40 pm
God, he is awful, isn’t he? I shut him off on Fox because he was blah-blahing during Breitbart’s intro.
Another one who talks too much is Beck — even though I sometimes enjoy his show, he talks over his guests. I shout at the TV, “Shut up!” You have experts on a given field, history professors, economists, that they bring in to explain stuff, and Beck talks at least half the time they’re there — after doing a 17-minute monologue to open the show!
February 7, 2010 at 4:50 pm
The thing that was really awful about Geraldo was that they didn’t mute the sound of what was happening at the convention, so he was trying to talk over it all. I didn’t need him to tell me what was going on.

OK, HuffPo has pics of the so-called “handprompter”, I can’t tell if they’re photoshopped or not.
February 7, 2010 at 7:52 pm
Yes, they are photo-shopped. I zoomed in, especially, on the c-span video of the Q & A.
THERE ISN’T ANY WRITING ON HER HAND!
Sorry for shouting, but this ticks me off. This thread was hijacked last night by sundancefan (and his mystery wife) and now the different sites are defending Sarah, when she doesn’t need any defense, of the so what if she did variety.
Nice job trolls of hijacking Sunday’s after Sarah speech posts.
February 7, 2010 at 7:54 pm
Ditto, even though Sundance swears they aren’t a troll, really behaved badly and now the liberals are running with it too.
Thanks for nothing.
February 7, 2010 at 8:51 am
Sarah’s speech in many regards was unprecedented and is indicative of her popularity and the “winds of change.”
First, can anyone recall a time when a speech was given by an American citizen -holding no political office -that was broadcast on major networks and is being dicussed by prominent talking heads?
Secondly, she managed in less than an hour to call out Obama’s feckless handling of American affairs. Took DHS and the Federal Reserve to task, reduced Joe Biden to a caricature, dismissed mainstream media, defended those less fortunate, outlined a course for recovery in three easy steps, inspired average Americans to take charge of their country, and essentially vowed to give her life for her country and its citizens. All the while providing a much needed dose of optimism AND looking damn good doing it.
Hollywood couldn’t do better if they tried.

I did not see the speech, but it must have been amazing. My local paper (Baltimore Sun) had a write up on it from Dave Zurawik (a frequent SP basher), and he said it was very good.
On another note, anyone see the hit job on SP done by NBC Nightly News Friday re: “The Shadow Governor”. The gist was that Todd Palin gave counsel to his wife. Pathetic. Non-story to anyone who has ever been married. No doubt the timing was planned to coincide with her speech. You guys are right, she likely scares the current president and his minions.

February 7, 2010 at 3:17 pm
Loved how Palin speaks naturally without use of the teleprompter unlike some people we know! Refreshing, after the pompous up-turned nose, overly staged, phoney Dr.O speeches that any good first year method actor could pull off!

The new Zogby poll shows Sarah with overwhelming support from women…there is that prophesy of Brother Braham saying ” There arose a most beautifull woman in America…with overwhelming support of women’s votes…”
Just a food for thoughts
February 7, 2010 at 4:31 pm
Wow! I was wondering when women would wake up to someone that would empower them, not enslave them. All this love for Islam that Dr Utopia espouses makes me nervous, though, of course, it is the “religion of peace”.
