Only part of this is because of the personal attacks the Left has made on us this week, but another large part of it is something we read over at www.Hillaryis44.com, regarding the need to eject every single Democrat from office in 2010.
It took us a long time to come to this point, but the Liberal-Socialist Democrat party needs to not only be defeated in 2010, it needs to g-damn be EVISCERATED. Every last Democrat needs to be brought down, because we have had all that we are going to take with these nuts.
Saying this could very likely get us killed in a place like Chicago. So be it. The Left has already destroyed one of our ability’s to ever earn a living in this town again. The DNC sanctions these kinds of attacks, if not directly orders them. THAT is what the Democrat Party has become. Breaking Godwin’s Law, we state the obvious and call this Liberal-Fascists what they are: g-damn Nazis.
Oppose them in the slightest, and they will destroy you.
Speak out against them, and they will get you fired from your job and make you unemployable.
Stand up to them, and they’ll ruin your friendships, chase relationships away, and launch full-on war against you.
THAT is what Democrats are all about today.
In the 30+ years we’ve each been alive, the worst a Republican ever did to us was tell us, to our face, we were going to Hell because we like guys. Some added, “I will pray for your illness” when they found out we were gay. We’ve been through most of the states in the South. We grew up in places like Cleveland, Pittsburgh, San Antonio, Rochester, and Milwaukee. We’ve been lectured by Catholics, Protestants, Fundamentalists, and Jews of the Republican persuasion, and never once did these people ever do anything worse to us than saying, “Boys, you ain’t right”.
Democrats, however, have sought to destroy us, working page by page through the Alinsky Playbook.
We know people at the DNC monitor this site.
We know there are very important people who read us. Trust us, that shocks us as much as it might shock some of you. But we know this for a fact.
We are telling Democrats right now that you have destroyed the Democrat Party, perhaps forever. If you alienated lifelong, dyed in the wool Dems like us, you people are toast.
These lunatics really and truly believe that attacking moderate Dems like us who do not agree with the current Administration is an actual, sound, policy move. Great Merciful Zeus, this is coming directly from Donna Brazile we bet. That woman is crazy. During the 2008 primaries, we emailed back and forth with her a few times, and she is as rude and vile as can be. This was the genius behind Gore’s failed 2000 campaign, and the woman who dreamed up Obama 2008. She’s the one who repeatedly said the Democrats do not need moderates, the working class, the blue collar voters, or “average Americans”.
Democrats believe they can exist with just blacks, immigrants, jews, liberals, gays, and the urban elite.
Well, we’re gays who commit today to doing everything we can to bring Democrats down in 2010.
Part of it is because of what the DNC did to Hillary Clinton in 2008. Part of it is because of the attacks launched on us this week. But, mainly, it’s because Democrats are bad for this country. The party has gone completely insane and is out of touch not only with voters, but with reality itself.
There are no longer any moderate Democrats to speak of.
This was proven by the votes on the Healthcare Rationing bill. All 60 Dems in the Senate voted for a bill they did not read, did not understand, that they tried to ram through passage in the dead of night when no one was looking.
In our opinion, every last one of these people belongs in prison — for treason. Since we can’t make that happen, we will focus instead on defeating as many of them as we can.
As we said yesterday, looking at our resources, and our time schedule, we can commit to driving an effort behind FIVE good Republicans who can defeat bad Democrats in 2010.
One of these races is Michelle Bachmann’s. If you have any contacts with her, let her know a bunch of gay guys in Chicago want to go all-in for her. We want to make her Speaker too. We are willing to do whatever we can to make that happen.
For the other four races we want to get involved in, we want to pick four really good Republicans we believe in who will defeat Democrats that need to be made examples of.
One of those Dems is Barbara Boxer. Whomever runs against her will have our undying daily support.
We want Harry Reid defeated, but that’s going to happen without us, so we are not going to put our effort there. Part of us wants to take down Evan Bayh, just because we are so disappointed in the man for his behavior in the week before Christmas. If ANY Democrat should have stood up and shouted down the madness of this Healthcare Rationing bill, it should have been Bayh. This is a man we like very much, on a personal level. This is a man we’ve had multiple conversations with. This is a man we would have loved to have seen become Vice President under Hillary Clinton.
But, he betrayed this country. All Democrats in the Senate did. And now he disgusts us.
We’re torn on what to do about Bayh. Indiana is so close, we could very easily get involved there. But we admit we have lingering loyalty to Bayh for how steadfast he stood with Clinton two years ago. So, he’s tabled for now.
That means two of our berths are now filled. We will be supporting:
(1) Michelle Bachmann
(2) Whomever is the nominee against Boxer (we hope it is Chuck Devore)
And the other three slots are empty.
The qualifications to earn our support are:
(1) Candidate must love America
(2) Candidate must hate socialism
(3) Candidate must not have supported Cap & Tax, the Healthcare Rationing Bill, or Dr. Utopia in any way
(4) Candidate must embrace the Tea Party movement, which we are a part of
(5) Candidate must not be evil to gays
Republicans, stop talking about gays, period. Across the board. News flash: there will always be gays. No matter how much you try to convince us otherwise, Jake Gyllenhaal is hot, Madonna is cool, and a night at Sidetracks beats just about anything else on Earth. Especially Showtunes night. You can threaten us with fire, brimstone, and the fires of Hell all you want, but we’ll never, ever, not a day in our lives be attracted to women. Nor will we ever wish we were. We drink Pilsners. We adore Lady Gaga. Every drag queen in town knows our first names. We like guys.
Deal with it.
Because we’re here. We’re queer. And we are willing to put ourselves on the front line to take down the Liberals. While Republicans are at their cocktail parties, we are manning phone banks and plotting strategy to take down the corrupt, lunatic, out of control DNC itself.
Reinforcements from the cocktail party, martini in hand, set would be appreciated.
The DNC should take another look at the Daily Kos and DemocraticUnderground to see if they are really getting their money’s worth — because instead of shutting us down, these goblin factories REVVED US UP MORE THAN WE HAVE EVER BEEN REVVED.
These fools took the battle to Boystown. They made things personal. And in 2010, we are going to fight harder than we have ever fought for anything to bring these lunatic socialists down.
Who’s with us?
January 27, 2010 at 4:14 am
I got to this same point back in 2008. I tried to warn friends and relatives prior to the election that year. They thought I was nuts but now, those same friends and relatives have come around and they know that O is bad for the country. It’s still hard for them to accept the fact that the DNC isn’t what it used to be because they don’t fully understand what happened.
Dems need to know more about the Congressional Progressive Caucus and what they represent. They need to know why progressivism is bad. I’m a liberal but not a progressive. People need to know that there’s a difference. You can be a social liberal and a fiscal conservative.
January 27, 2010 at 12:05 pm
Beck tried to explain the relationship between today and yesterday with his special last Friday. For anyone who won’t watch Beck, here is my explanation of what progressive is and why younger people don’t get it (education has them brainwashed). Anyway:
For anyone who doesn’t get the truth of Beck’s special, the problem is one of the terminology and interpretation. “Progressive” has an innocent root: progress, which means to go forward. The term progressive implies incremental progress which certainly sounds innocent enough.
In politics “progressive” is a wink and a nod word in that it can be construed to mean different things to different people. The direction/misdirection is intentional. The word itself defines direction to fellow progressives while it provides misleading values to non-progressives because it “sounds good.”
The key is what is meant by the user of the word “progress.” Margaret Sanger’s eugenics was considered progress. (From answers.com: “The assumptions of eugenicists came under sharp criticism beginning in the 1930s and were discredited after the German Nazis used eugenics to support the extermination of Jews, blacks, and homosexuals.” For the rest of the world progress meant cars instead of horses for transportation.
Maybe this will help anyone who has relatives and friends who don’t get the difference between then and now. The progressives of today convince with the happy-face model while in the background they keep the sour-puss model alive, well, and out of sight–for now.
January 29, 2010 at 9:42 am
How about another one that is simpler? Progressing towards communism. That is a word that most understand. Whatever word you choose it means your lack of freedom as understood in the Declaration of Independence. At our house we use that phrase because it doesn’t require some egghead response to it. We all understand what it means and we understand that we don’t want any part of it.
January 27, 2010 at 4:21 am
Love you all! And thanks for standing up for Sarah. This Marylander has got your back HillBuzz! Don’t worry…karma’s a bitch and it will come back to the haters ten fold. Just keep doing what you’re doing. Stay true to yourselves!
January 27, 2010 at 9:18 am
Ashley, I am a Marylander too. Have you heard Charles Lollar? He is taking on Pelosi’s henchman Steny Hoyer, and he is fantastic! Also Erlich is going to challenge O’Malley. If we could only get rid of Cardin and Mikulski.
January 27, 2010 at 11:04 am
I am a former Marylander. We had to put up with Cardin as our Rep for way too many years. Same with Mikulski. And nothing would make me happier than to see Steny Hoyer disappear from politics. Let him run for dog catcher. All of them are so arrogant. That is their Achilles heel. Exploit it and you will be free at last. Then Maryland will be the Free State once again.
We moved to get away to get away from the above politians. It was OK for a while until we ended up fighting our own Democrat senators. Keep on fighting. These guys are toast this year. Make sure the dream comes true
January 27, 2010 at 12:01 pm
Another former, Marylander here! I feel sick now thinking about the fact that in 2006 I voted lock-step democrat, therefore, I helped the dems who are currently there.
I only wish I was still there so I could help, starting this election season, booting them out. I’m in TN now, so the chances of Reps. losing is not that likely. I will vote of course, I can’t wait! But TN is definitely not a nail biter election, they went for McCain/Palin and in the Primary they went for Hillary(on the dem side)! So I am proud about that. :D I don’t know, but I’m thinking red states could turn even redder this November, while blue states turn red from the bloodbath at the polls! :D
January 27, 2010 at 12:22 pm
Steney always makes me think that the family had him exhumed to make sure he’s really gone.
January 27, 2010 at 12:25 pm
Granny, That is just to good. Thanks for the laugh.
January 27, 2010 at 2:15 pm
Granny! How right you are. The bad news for Steny is that he has looked like this since he was young. When I first saw him MASH the TV show had just started and he reminded me of Frank Burns!
January 27, 2010 at 4:24 am
Count me in, fellas! Wow. The great battle of our times, for freedom and liberty. Thanks for firing up this American Dad.
But I’m STILL gonna pray for you!
Actually, you could say a few prayers for me,too. Maybe all of us.
January 28, 2010 at 3:44 am
Any Democrat who either supported or did not back stab Hillary Clinton, or simply chose to wait until ALL democratic voters had voted before backing Barack Obama should be safe harbor.
January 27, 2010 at 4:25 am
Voting for healthcare trainwreck the first time around, crap and trade and the stimu-turd payoffs to their cronies among other things.
January 27, 2010 at 4:44 am
..its 4:30AM in ny, couldnt sleep, so here i am reading your latest rant on the libs..
go for it,we’re all behind you 100%..
our founding fathers would be proud of you, i know i am!
lets throw the bums out!
January 27, 2010 at 5:02 am
Hi, HillBuzz Guys,
As a conservative — registered Republican, but first and foremost a conservative — I think the best way to reconcile the aspirations of the gay community (I hate the “_____ community”; it is a convenient phrase, though) and the feelings of religious conservatives is just what the Founders intended for such problems: FEDERALISM!
As always, thanks for all you do.
January 27, 2010 at 9:07 am
I agree with this federalism strategy. I’m a GOP-er, but also staunchly pro gay marriage and gay rights. So this is one of the many things I love about the Tea Party movement – its complete avoidance of any social issues, which allows dems and repubs to unite behind liberty, love of country, and fiscal conservatism. This has proven to be such a healing movement, allowing Americans from so many diverse backgrounds to drop their differences and join forces to take our country back. As a republican, I find it particularly wonderful that so many repubs in this movement are getting revved up by liberty and classic conservative values – like federalism. Because the more any GOPer (or dem or anyone, for that matter), who happens to be against gay rights, gets passionate about liberty, the more they will feel hypocritical putting limits or stipulations on that liberty. It is my hope that the Tea Party movement, for now, remains united on broad issues and avoids becoming splintered on social issues. I think saving the country from socialism is the most urgent and important cause facing our country, and I think this means remaining laser-focused on the issue of fiscal conservatism, liberty and limited government, and back burnering social issues. But it is my hope and my belief that once the Tea Party has successfully ousted every last liberal from govt and we’ve come back from the brink, that it can evolve into something that stands for unbiased, unlimited liberty for all. With that, I believe gay rights will naturally follow. And one of the best catalysts to getting there is by appealing to the libertarian, federalist streak that most, if not all, in the Tea Party movement hold.
January 27, 2010 at 9:36 am
Hear, hear, Kelly! I could not agree more. I know I always crush on Ron Paul, but the best thing about working on his campaign 2 years ago was his ability to bring so many diverse kinds of people together for respectful discussion and honest debate. The key is pushing power down to the local level, where the framers of the Constitution intended it to be. It’s only when the federal government is big enough and powerful enough to pick winners and losers that politics becomes so divisive.
January 27, 2010 at 10:03 am
Well said.
January 27, 2010 at 11:08 am
From what I see, on the divisive social issues, the Tea Party people are not demanding that EITHER position be taken. Those in the movement are free to personally advocate for whatever their beliefs are, and no one is getting silenced, or told they MUST agree one way or another. It’s an “agree to disagree” thing.
What we are mostly saying is that there is clear and real danger to this country coming out of Washington DC, and everyone needs to focus on that. That sort of unity is the real kind – not demanding that one side or another STFU for the sake of some fake Kumbayah.
Advocates of top-down power (from either party) will always try to divide a bottom-up movement emanating from the people. Not going to let that happen. We are a nation of individuals, with varying views – not sheep to be herded.
January 27, 2010 at 11:11 am
Amen. You are right about that. The top-downers always aim to divide, such that they can conquer.
Try as you might, big govt goons – Tea Party movement is sticking together!
January 27, 2010 at 12:16 pm
This has been my position for a long time now. Save country and constitution first, so we can live to disagree another day. It’s through social issues that the dems will try to marginalize the tea party spirit. All we have to do is focus and not take part in their agenda. We have have our own.
January 27, 2010 at 1:06 pm
I couldn’t have said it better myself.
January 27, 2010 at 5:35 am
Guys, I’m more of a lurker and linker than a chatter- I usually don’t say much.
I want all of them out. Every damn office holder from local level, up to the top. Every party.
It’s past time to try a new pack of thieves, and keep tossing ‘em until we get some we can stand.
January 27, 2010 at 5:14 pm
I disagree. There are some good ones, let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water. Just like lawyers, while there are some crooks and bottom feeders, they are not all bad.
March 1, 2010 at 4:49 pm
Backhoe am with you all the way.But also know when people get in voting booth, half go brain dead.
January 27, 2010 at 6:47 am
I am soooo with you Boyz…and I pray for your safety daily.
Another Sinator that needs to go…(But he is so awful; so feeble he maybe he is a “Reid” and will fail on his own) is Snarlin’ Arlen Specter in PA.
I will find a link to a Toomey (the R running against Specter later) and post.
Blue PA needs to go purple; then red when Casey’s term is up. These two are Obots of the highest order. They need to go.
January 27, 2010 at 9:04 am
Not to mention Casey using his father’s name and the pro-life community. Its one thing to flip-flop, but to use abortion to get elected and then vote for a bill for taxpayer funded abortions is sick. At least Specter is up front about his belief system.
Plus, Casey hid all summer long from voters. We called his office for town halls and he never had ‘em. Specter, at least, faced the music. However, its Specter’s time to go.
January 27, 2010 at 11:04 am
The Spectre didn’t do himself any favours the other day when he dissed Michelle Bachmann.
He knew he’d stepped in it big time, and called her to apologize immediately.
Hahahaha…too little…way too late!
LOOOOOOSER!
January 27, 2010 at 11:15 am
I agree spector is a loser I will vote against him along with my wife. I tried to get ahold of bachman and tell her I was sorry for the remarks made by spector but could not get on her site.
January 27, 2010 at 11:23 am
Mary, I just came across this, hot off the presses.
Toomey is leading Spectre(sic) by 14%!
More good news. It looks as if (at least for now) a lot of Dim voters are going to ‘sit this one out’.
Traditionally, there is low voter turnout for the ‘mid-terms’, but the Pubbies are fired up this time around!
http://www.philly.com/philly/hp/news_update/82769067.html
January 27, 2010 at 12:29 pm
Bwahaha!! *Sinator* I love it.
January 27, 2010 at 12:31 pm
If you could’ve seen the complete fool Sphincter (aided and abetted by Biden) made of himself during the Clarence Thomas hearings you’d detest him even more. It was painfully embarrassing to watch so-called “leaders” of this country comport themselves like a couple of ignorant, dirty-minded teenagers.
January 27, 2010 at 2:22 pm
Granny,
I love someone with a memory and yours is flawless! Who could ever forget the Swimmer going after Robert Bork trying to pin a “racist” title on him? The Lib’s politics of destruction is officially over. We aren’t going to take it anymore!
January 27, 2010 at 7:06 am
I’m in Florida’s 20th district and I think it’s time for my rep, Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D)to find other employment. There are 3 guys that want the seat. Of them, Robert Lowry (R)is a conservative family man, a business owner, son of a preacher and the gay group, Sunshine Republicans is backing him.
Ms. Wasserman Schultz turned tail on Clinton during the primaries even though HRC won Florida. I voted for Clinton. Unfortunately, the DNC was only giving me 1/2 a vote a the time. I wish Ms. Wasserman Schultz would have stood up for my vote.
Alas, she did not.
January 27, 2010 at 7:36 am
Felix,
I am COMMITTED to taking down Wasserman-Schultz. She has been labeled as a rising star in the Democrat party. She is Nancy Pelosi’s lapdog. She sold out all of the elderly bringing Pelosi here to talk up health care at a retirement community. This hooker needs to go back to walking the streets on Biscayne Blvd.
The other thing is, She is so stupid. If she was a Republican the media would have smeared her. This is one dumb dope.
I say we take this witch down!
January 27, 2010 at 8:02 am
Thanks for the laugh!
Yes, most of her actions have been self-serving for political purposes. As far as I’m concerned, turning her back on the candidate that won the state of Florida was by far the worst.
I do think Lowry might be the ticket to unseat her. I will be very involved this year. Still need to get through the primaries though.
January 27, 2010 at 7:38 am
Oh, I would love to never have to see Wasserman-Schultz on TV again – what a smug, condescending woman.
January 27, 2010 at 8:04 am
et tu, Beth? I thought I was alone in my dislike of her. Good to see I’m in good company.
Yes, “condescending” is a good word to describe her. I think “patronizing” to describe her attitude towards her constituents is another very good word.
January 27, 2010 at 9:12 am
Oh, I so agree! She sure does make her rounds on TV, and I cringe every time I hear her speak.
January 27, 2010 at 9:42 am
Wasserman-Schulz personifies arrogant smugness as badly as Chuck Schumer. I reached the point with her, as I did with Schumer long ago, that I have to change the channel if she is talking. Her rapid rise the past two years speaks volumes about the nature of today’s Democrat Party. She is a sure candidate for your must-defeat list, but I don’t know what her district is like.
January 27, 2010 at 10:12 am
Steve, you nailed it for me. I couldn’t put my finger on it, and I knew it wasn’t just the words that were coming out of her mouth. It’s her “arrogant smugness”. Thanks.
January 27, 2010 at 10:23 am
Steve, I’m her district. The problem being we have a very large numbers of the elderly, and a very large Jewish community. We also have a large number of gays (Ft Lauderdale, afterall) and African Americans. These are all usually groups that vote based on party affiliation. However, even die hard liberal-proggresives are saying, “enough.” That is my one hope of getting a Republican into the seat. So many people are fed up with the elected, elite ruling class of which she is a perfect example.

January 27, 2010 at 7:08 am
I love you guys. As soon as I can interview and get back to you on Charles Lollar I will. I would sooooooooo love for him to take down Steny Hoyer! I’d really love for someone who represents Prince George’s County in Maryland to actually be familiar with PG County, to like, oh, VISIT PG County.
Because, really truly, if we can take PG County for the GOP, you can take ANYWHERE GOP. Trust me in this – having watched the Michael Steele race and having watched so many blacks here gladly say racist crap about a black man in favor of some milque toast white guy simply because of the (D) behind his name was unbelievable. When I called them on it, they just didn’t care. Any black man who votes conservative is an Uncle Tom to them, a race traitor and EEEVIL!
January 27, 2010 at 7:18 am
You’re in PG? So am I. I definitely agree with you about that. I’d like to see Mikulski gone, gone, gone. She’s been in her seat far too long. Unfortunately, I don’t see any realistic challengers taking her on.
January 27, 2010 at 7:28 am
The problem with MD (I live here too, so I know), is that it’s soooo gerrymandered along the I-95 corridor that the rest of the state doesn’t count for much in electiontime.
And the I-95 corridor has been so steeped in demo-hogwash, they actually believe, kid you not, that Jesus was a Democrat. *rolls eyes*
That said, I was proud of Steele coming out of MD (though he’s disappointed me some since).
The other problem is that there are so many federal employees in the area, who aren’t as steeply effected by bad economic times as the rest of the country. As long as their agency gets $$, they’re happy. So most of them tend toward Dems (‘cept many of us DOD employees. . . )
January 27, 2010 at 2:11 pm
Woot for the DOD!!! NAVSEA Rocks!
Well, I’m hoping that if we can get enough grassroots out there up in arms, maybe we can take over Hoyers seat.
I know the Hill Buzz guys like Mikulski. Can’t stand her. Plus, just on general principle, it’s time to replace her.
What I would love love love is to start running some moderate to conservative Democrats who have a fighting chance. But that breed went extinct long ago in Maryland.
January 27, 2010 at 7:50 am
Lola – this is completely off-topic – is that handspun yarn in your little picture there?
January 27, 2010 at 9:51 am
Yep . . . sure is. Craft blog in my name link . . .
January 27, 2010 at 9:56 am
You don’t want to know what I thought it was! :)
January 27, 2010 at 2:07 pm
Um, Lola, you and I need to get together for some knitting. My knitting skillz are quite lacking. I’d like for my stockinette to not roll the heck up! You’re in PG, I’m in PG…Maybe?
January 27, 2010 at 2:32 pm
Lola, I’m a spinner, too, and I raise Colored Angora Goats and French Angora bunnies!
January 27, 2010 at 6:42 pm
Lola, you are a talented lady! Love your recipes on your blog, and love that someone else spins something other than bicycles!! LOL!
January 27, 2010 at 8:09 pm
knitting? Did someone mention knitting? and crochet, and tatting and…..? :)
Truly no one would know that this lady has a degree :)
January 27, 2010 at 9:26 am
Once people hear Lollar they will be enthusiastic–he is a dynamic speaker. There is a grassroots group from the Eastern Shore of Maryland called Americans for Prosperity that had a clip of him a few weeks ago. The blogsite i saw it on was “Salisbury News”. Hillbuzz guys you have more class and integrity in your litle fingers than virtually anyone I know. I will help you fight to the end. Because we ARE truly fighting to save our Country and our freedom people!!
January 27, 2010 at 2:09 pm
Yup, I saw that one of Lollar. Plus, he works in PG! Imagine that, he’s a politician who wants to represent PG who actually frickin employs people who live in PG and is in PG every bloody weekday. Go figure.
January 27, 2010 at 7:32 am
I’m in! You guys are so inspiring!
January 27, 2010 at 7:45 am
WOO HOO !!!Don’t mess with HILLBUZZ!(or freaking America!!)
Bachmann
DeVore
Marco Rubio (FL)
Reid~ Lowden or Tarkanian
Patrick Hughes (IL)lg percentage undecided primary is Tuesday!
It’s tough to settle on 5!XO
January 27, 2010 at 12:25 pm
Rubio is great. I heard him speak for the first time on Neil Cavuto’s show the other day. “Fantastic!” was all I could think. He’s got IT. Politically and personally he is dynamic. (Scott Brown type of appeal: handsome, smart, conservative.)
January 27, 2010 at 8:02 am
I am with you ALL THE WAY!!!- Soldier for Liberty
January 27, 2010 at 9:06 am
There is my dear friend Desiree from Twitter hi ya!–HillBuzz you have a loyal fighter in her!!!!
Also love love Marco Rubio hope he makes your list.
Another I wish you would look at helping is Beth McClung running against probably the most liberal socialist of all Grijalva AZ Dist. 7–he is co leader with Pelosi of the Progressive caucus. She is a physicist, strong Tea Party conservative.
January 27, 2010 at 8:11 am
Boyz, I am with you 100 percent and will do the best I can in Downstate Illinois to achieve the goals you outline.
You are absolutely right about the gay thing: Republicans need to give it up–the issue, I mean. (That could be taken another way and make some Republicans rather nervous!) Every Republican I know either doesn’t have a clue about my orientation or doesn’t care or both.
A couple of couple of years back, I spent the whole day with a small group of middle-aged Republican good-ole boys at GOP Day at the State Fair. We had a helluva lot of fun. I contained my lisp and swish (just a joke–I don’t have either–unless I’ve been drinking) and it was all above board. I have great respect for those guys and they have respect for me.
Also, when you are willing to do thankless jobs like organize 52 volunteer slots for 10 days at the GOP tent at the county fair, people don’t care how queer you are. They are just glad you are there and they don’t have to organize!
January 27, 2010 at 5:30 pm
As the Boyz said, the worse thing a Republican has done to them has said that them that they don’t agree with their lifestyle. As a general rule, Republicans don’t care if you are green, purple, yellow or blue or if you are male or female, they believe in Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness for all Americans. If you’re willing and able to do the job, then we don’t care. We look at you as a person, not a part of a group of victims.

HillBuzzers’ Favorites 2010
I followed along the preference thread (25/01/10) and extracted these 15 favored candidates. I believe the HB bias is against RINOs & politics-as-usual candidates. I’ll update and repost the list later with any other recommendations.
Any opinions on Larry Sinclair – FL?
Michelle Bachmann – MN
Chuck DeVore – CA
Marco Rubio – FL
J.D. Hayworth – AZ
Pat Hughes – IL
Allen West – FL
Rick Perry – TX
Sue Lowden – NV
Jim Talent – MI
Rand Paul – KY

Is Larry Kudlow running? Be still my heart. Which gives me another brainstorm. Has anyone approached Rick Santelli about running for office in IL? He is an awesome guy – very sincere and REAL. I set up a tour of the trading floor at the Chicago Board of Trade for a couple of my clients (cowboys) and they ended up talking to Santelli for 20 minutes right before he went on the air. He is the opposite of “elitist”. That’s what we need.
January 27, 2010 at 12:32 pm
The thing that is appealing about Kudlow is that he has a $30m war chest already because he was considering running against Chris Dodd. He has residences in Ct. and NYC. He can out spent Screwmer easily. And with the new decision by the Supremes Screwmer is perfectly set up for a take down.
January 27, 2010 at 2:08 pm
Santelli is very popular , everywhere it seems. Yesterday I was at the Physical therapist and they had the TV on CNBC. When Santelli came on , everybody stopped what they were doing to listen to him. At the end several people commented that he should run for President! I was surprised that in the middle of deep blue NJ people would express themselves that way outloud.
January 27, 2010 at 10:52 pm
Not sure now he’s running. There seems to be a move to draft him for a Senate run, but he may have other committments.
January 27, 2010 at 8:16 am
You are showing bias to Bayh, he is a socialist progressive, I want you to fight with me to un seat him. I have supported you, you need to support me. Hilery can be you love, but please, she is not the issue here, Indiana needs support to oust Bayh. please put him on you target list…Its about america and freedom, Bayh uses Anita Dunns PR firm to promote himself, Anita Dunn loves Mao, can you support that???????
January 27, 2010 at 8:22 am
Who do you have there that can unseat Bayh? I heard that Pence dropped out.
January 27, 2010 at 8:49 am
Evan Bayh vs. Mike Pence 2010 44-47
Evan Bayh vs. John Hostettler 2010 44-41
Evan Bayh vs. Martin Stutzman 2010 45-33
January 28, 2010 at 11:38 am
Marlin Stutzman is our best chance to unseat Bayh. You can learn more about him here:
http://GoMarlin.com
http://twitter.com/GoMarlin
http://twitter.com/MarlinStutzman
He’s a conservative state senator from Northern Indiana and he is a smart campaigner. (ie, he won’t bring guns to an airport or insult a cancer patient like Hostettler has done before getting the boot in his last election, losing by more than 20 points)
We need fresh faces and youthful campaigners to oust the likes of Bayh. Marlin is a proven leader who is the opposite of what DC has become.
January 27, 2010 at 9:09 am
Bayh just comes off as a phony to me. Supposedly, behind the scenes, he was twisting Senators’ arms to vote for the healthcare rationing bill. Now, he is talking about bi-partianship, bashing reconcilation, and talking about “learning a lesson from MA?” Are you for real? Just keep your mouth shut, b/c when it counted to actually stand up for “bipartianship” and “moderation” he was silent.
Hillbuzz, I know you like him. But that’s how I see it. He can’t have it both ways. You can’t call yourself a moderate and vote for the healthcare rationing bill, the stimulus garbage and the like.

Thank you for your links to these articles. I had come across them but couldn’t remember where. I agree with you in not trusting him. Someone on the American Thinker site yesterday commented on how two Doctor friends had gone to DC to meet with Bayh in December. After 5 minutes or so he got up and said “I’m going to vote with my party” and walked out on them. Like O, he represents himself first and his party next. The voters are just an inconvenience.
January 27, 2010 at 2:31 pm
Evan Bayh will talk like a conservative from now on because it is close to election time. If he gets re-elected then he will go back to DC and be his regular lefty self. Do not fall for this again, Hoosiers.
January 27, 2010 at 4:09 pm
you are right on Betsey
January 27, 2010 at 5:36 pm
Same with McCain. He needs to go home to AZ. 2 things that I’m grateful to McCain for: 1) bringing Sarah Palin to the national stage, and 2) Staying on the Republican side this year ~staying elected is his #1 priority~
January 27, 2010 at 10:54 am
Bayh has to go. He says one thing while he is campaigning in Indiana and does another when he gets to Washington. The key will be to find a credible candidate to go against him. Does anyone have any feedback about the Tea Party candidate–Behney? He is not a politician, he’s a plumber. Per his website, he is not looking to make a career in Washington. He wants to do what he can to take the country back for the people and then go home and resume his business. Sounds like the kind of candidate Palin has indicated she would support–the reluctant candidate.
January 27, 2010 at 4:12 pm
you are right he has to go. I personally know Behney. He is a true american, a tea party member and was doing ok until the others started to run. I also know Stuzman and told the GOP that he was not a strong candidate. Bayh is going to be on fox at 4:13 right next after commercials
January 27, 2010 at 12:53 pm
One more thing . . . We can go after Bayh without the official support of Hillbuzz. They are giving us the tools we need to be successful. If, for whatever reason, they do not feel comfortable jumping into the fray, I respect that. I don’t know about all of you, but I support the Hillbuzz boys because I believe in what they are doing, not because I expect something in return.
January 27, 2010 at 12:57 pm
Every Democrat in elected office currently should be defeated.
Every last one of them.
They have done THAT much damage to this country and we are THAT mad.
We are going to give Bayh one last chance to be the hero we need him to be. If he doesn’t rise to the challenge and join the fight against the Left, then we will add him to the list of races we will involve ourselves in — on his opponents behalf.
It is put up or shut up and get booted from office time for all Democrats who claim to be moderates.
January 27, 2010 at 1:31 pm
of course he is going to pretend to get re-elected, then resort back to the socialist agenda. HE CANNOT BE TRUSTED, HE HAS shown his real beliefs. What are you, Hillbuzz, going to measure Bayh against to determine he is a changed man fighting the left? He will not have town how meetings, he will not take calls, he will not face tea party people. He is ignoring ALL requests to meet
January 27, 2010 at 1:59 pm
I agree. Hillbuzz has given us a place to exchange thoughts and meet other like-minded people. Having them focus us on what we need to do and using this site to strategize is a big help.
If they have to choose and do not pick him to go after, it doesn’t stop the rest of us. Thank you for allowing us our freedom to speak here.
January 27, 2010 at 2:28 pm
Let us be clear: EVERY Democrat in office needs to be booted.
We, however, cannot go after hundreds of people and follow hundreds of races.
We know our limits. At Pie Hole, we’d love to have an extra large sausage and marshmallow After School Special AND a Miss Fozzie (ham and pineapple) extra large AND an extra large Buff Chick (buffalo chicken), but we just couldn’t manage all that pizza in one sitting. Especially if Panda’s not with us, and Oprah’s out of town and can’t slurp up the leftovers.
We know our limits.
Five races of in-depth analysis we can do. 400 and something, not so much.
Maybe Bayh will end up being a Dem we work to defeat.
Our preference is that we, the lot of us here at Buzzquarters, strike out against bad Dems we have never actually met, an don’t like on a personal level. If there are none of those we think are important, then we can start going after the people who it’s breaking our hearts to have to oppose.
If Bayh chooses to go down the route he’s heading, then anyone who opposes Bayh is A-OK in our book, no matter who our five races end up being in terms of which ones we’ll put blood sweat and tears into.
Gosh, we love pizza.
January 27, 2010 at 2:09 pm
Hopefully Pence will run, I could get behind him.
January 27, 2010 at 3:56 pm
Pence bowed out to remain in present position in HoR (without the extra letters). It looks like you and Sarah are on your own in generating a viable candidate against Bayh. Go for it!
I’ve a longtime friend in IN, but she’d probaby rather commit seppuku than vote Repub. So no help there!
January 27, 2010 at 4:08 pm
no we are not alone, major tea parties in Indiana and Michigan against him. AND there are a few more on this site that want him out. too bad about your friend
January 27, 2010 at 8:33 am
IN!!! Boxer HAS TO GO. I ain’t resting until that joke of a senator has joined the ranks of the unemployed.
May I also suggest Chuck Schumer?
I think Schumer for sure warrants Top 5. HE IS AWFUL. He was a key player in the housing bust – he (and Dodd and Frank) played a crucial role in forcing the banks to lower, yet again, their loan requirements. Yet he has conveniently forgotten this and instead rails against Wall Street greed and blames Bush every chance he gets. (He also conveniently forgets that in 2004, Bush sounded the alarm on Fannie & Freddie and called for more oversight on them, but Schumer, Dodd and Frank made sure that didn’t happen.) Schumer’s career can best be described as a barrage of decisions aimed at destructing capitalism and creating government dependents, simply to create more voters loyal to the socialist party. This man can’t open his mouth w/o lying. There’s a bit of a Kennedy seat situation w/ Schumer here in NY – he’s been an NY politician for so long that I think people just sorta automatically vote for him and figure there’s no point in considering another option. Well it’s time. It’s time for NY to have its Scott Brown moment.
Not Top 5 – but we gotta make sure DeMint gets reelected. Not that I can imagine he wouldn’t, especially this year. But he’s up there with Bachmann – loves this country and fights like hell.
I’d also love to see McCain go…You just never know which way that one’s going to go. He has progressive tendencies. He makes me nervous. JD Hayworth has a far more consistent voter record, one that lines up a whole helluva lot more with capitalism.
January 27, 2010 at 9:23 am
Good old Chuck is on my list, and has been since he claimed, when they were trying to pass that stimulus boondoggle last year, that American’s don’t care about the pork.
It’s a mere 16 second clip, but it was that short clip that cemented my feelings about that guy. Anyone else?
http://michellemalkin.com/2009/02/10/schumer-the-american-people-really-dont-care-about-pork/
January 27, 2010 at 2:36 pm
Chuck U Schumer is indeed a candidate for removal. I don’t think he is up this year, though. Keep him on the list as all of them need to be voted out. My biggest concern is that people will forget that the Dems are not your friends. People will fall for their old worn out message of helping the little guy again in a few years. Teach your children well.
January 27, 2010 at 7:10 pm
Chuckie Boy IS up for reelection this year! As is Gillibrand.
Two Scott Brown moments in NY???
January 27, 2010 at 8:02 pm
Schumer is up this year. I’ve been asking around for months for someone to run against him.
Kudlow may just be a dream come true.
In the last election, both Westchester and Long Island threw out incumbent Democrats and put in Republicans for county executives and Westchester is blue.
This little tidbit got lost in Doug Hoffman NY-23 race. But it’s a big deal by itself.
So the time is right to get rid of Schumer
January 27, 2010 at 8:01 pm
I live in NYS and Chuck will be hard to beat. He is a good politician and always remembers to keep his name in all the local papers. He is always seen as a moderate at home and always getting things done for the state in local ways.
I don’t vote for him, but it’ll be hard to unseat him.
I hate what he does on the national stage. He is much more progressive in Washington, than when he visits Western New York. In his home state he acts like he is fighting for his constituants and only talks about local issues. he don’t talk about those national issues he works on in Washington.
The person that can easily be toppled is Kristen Gillibrand. She has not traveled the state as senator. I don’t think there is any allegience to her. Probably most people in NYS don’t even know her name. She has been completely silent in NY, since being given her senatorial seat.
January 27, 2010 at 8:13 pm
Yes, Boxer HAS to go – we’ve had enough of her high and mighty arrogance. She NEVER spoke out for Hillary against all the vileness that was done to her during the primaries -she waited to see which way the wind blew and kept her trap shut, then started worshiping at the feet of “The One” once he was selected as the nominee. The disrespectful way she talked down to that general was appalling – I’ve never gotten over that. I want her GONE!!! I’d vote for freaking Paris Hilton over her.

NRA is pushing past 4 million members, and they’re politically very active. It would be wise to check for their endorsement of a grassroots candidate.
“Modern Day Shot Heard ‘Round The World: On behalf of the four million members of NRA, we would like to offer congratulations to Senator-elect Scott Brown (R) on his hard-fought and well-deserved victory in the Massachusetts special election for U.S. Senate. We would like to thank all gun owners, hunters and NRA members in the Bay State for seizing this unique opportunity to elect a supporter of our Right to Keep and Bear Arms to the U.S. Senate. Brown was endorsed by the NRA’s Political Victory Fund (PVF)”.
Okay, I’ll shut up for now!

January 27, 2010 at 8:44 am
Retirements bring Retirements.
Spoke to Josh Kurtz, Roll Call, and Josh Kraushaar, Politico, and John Fund, WSJ, re the growing lost of retirements by Democrats in purple districts. The Democrats are now at a divide. Six to ten more retirements in purple seats will put the majority at risk. The pro ops are watching carefully:
Reps. Leonard L. Boswell (Iowa), Rick Boucher (Va.), Lincoln Davis (Tenn.),Bob Etheridge (N.C.), Paul E. Kanjorski (Pa.), Collin C. Peterson (Minn.), Ike Skelton (Mo.) and John Spratt (S.C.).
If these men retire, then it is game on for the GOP to take all forty seat needed for the majority in 2010. Also add one new name as of today: Earl Pomeroy (NC). John Fund says these men are mightily tempted to go out winners rather than spend the next eight months raising money in a headwind and risk going out a loser. The Marion Berry (Ark.) retiremement yesterday rocked the majority when he recounted a story of his visit to POTUS. Pomeroy told POTUS that healthcare would put the party at risk such as in 1994. POTUS replied that the difference now was that POTUS is popular and is not Bill Clinton. Pomeroy is still bothered by the POTUS detachment, indifference, presumption?

Another retiring Dem. Representative to add! Bart Gordon, Middle Tennessee. I don’t know much about him, because I’ve only been in TN for a few years, though, I do know that he has been in the congress for almost as long as I have been alive, that just doesn’t seem right, then again, there are senators still there who have been in the senate 2 times that long.
January 27, 2010 at 5:51 pm
Kristin, where in TN are you? I’m in Memphis. I wish we could get rid of Cohen and not by replacing him with King Willie Herenton. I’d consider it, but I’m in the district that John Tanner is retiring from.

One day soon the Democrats may be called the McCarthy Party, after their biggest bête noire — a force for witchhunts, blacklists, and general destruction.
January 27, 2010 at 9:19 am
As Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, Dave Obey (entrenched for 40 years in Congress) authored the Stimulus Bill. He famously dismissed concerns that it was wasteful by saying, “So What?” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BO2skjwkGlY&feature=related
Sean Duffy has a very energetic campaign to unseat Obey. This might finally be the year. I’d love to see Duffy on your radar.
http://duffyforcongress.com/
January 27, 2010 at 9:28 am
That’s a good commercial for Sean. I wasn’t very familiar with Obey, but after watching it, I have very negative feelings toward Obey.
I was never too fond of negative campaigning, but it works.
January 27, 2010 at 10:09 am
Van Jones of Apollo Alliance was credited as the major broker in writing the Stimulus bill and Harry Reid thanked him in a public speech for it. Van Jones, as you know, is a communist (he claims the title) radical. He may have gotten forced out of public office but he’s still involved.
January 27, 2010 at 9:23 am
Can you provide us with email and physical addresses to everyone that is up for re-election? I say create another team. One that actively contacts these democrats and goes full on counter ops. Tell them how much we need the public option. “If only health care was for everyone…” Why are we letting the earth burn to death. Encourage them to support Cap and Trade. Tell them to support card check, because unions are the only thing that will keep the middle class from eating at the soup kitchen. In other words, help stear these dems right off the cliff. The only way dems are going to loose is if they keep on doing what they have been doing since Obama got elected. If they hide their spots then they just may retain their seats. We need to reassure them that this nation is really a center left country and we really do want a nanny state europeanized America.
January 27, 2010 at 2:18 pm
You need only go to the House or Senate website. Their email addresses and phone numbers are available there, easy-peasy. You will need to provide a zip code to prove you live in their district. That’s easy enough.
Also, it provides a way for you to find out who represents you in case you don’t know.
January 27, 2010 at 2:26 pm
They’ll do all that to themselves without conservative help, Marie. And those 60 spotted senators in the conservative crosshairs have been outed. They are about to lose to any competent conservative.
But as a precinct organizer posted here a while back, it’s tough to even find a new candidate who has:
`no skeletons
`ability to communicate to a crowd
`free time
`$20,000 disposable cash to launch a run at just the local (training)level.
Grassroots orgs have to find, finance and set up any state and federal candidate, so it’s going to be a very busy year for all of them.
January 27, 2010 at 9:38 am
I’m a conservative (not a Republican, though I tend to support them more than Dems, especially lately), but I couldn’t agree more with “Republicans, stop talking about gays, period. Across the board.” I’ve said that a few times myself; it only causes problems (and, in general, it’s also wrong). I have a few gay friends who’ve left the liberal plantation, and I’m sure I could convince a few more if certain Republicans weren’t helping to lock the gates.

Lt. Col. Allen West
I feel selfish asking you to campaign for Allen West as I reside in his district. However, I truly believe that he is an awesome candidate. He almost won last time without any RNC support at all.
Also, we can shove the RAAAAAAACIST BS right down the progressive’s throats as Allen West has their preferred skin Color.
I believe West has a great future. He is everything that is right with America.
Please consider him. I beg you.
January 27, 2010 at 10:29 am
He is also one of the few courageous voices out there who is taking on Islam, head on, without fear. This guy is AWESOME. I hope he becomes a big mover and shaker in the republican party.
January 27, 2010 at 11:00 am
I also live in his district and in 2008 I had not heard of him (bad of me, I know). As soon as I get a few things straightened out in my personal life, I am planning to contact his office to volunteer. The only problem I see is that there was the instance where he was in trial for something that he did in Iraq. Nothing that would stop me from voting for him but you know that there are going to be loads of people that would make a big thing out of it. It had to do with interrogating an Iraqi and pulling a weapon and shooting it next to the Iraqi.
January 27, 2010 at 12:35 pm
So what. He got the answers that he wanted and SAVED officers lives. That is what Americans want, not Eric Holder BS.
January 27, 2010 at 3:03 pm
He talked about that on Red Eye and said if it saves the lives of the men under him and protects the US, he’d do it again. I think the American people are pissed about this “kind” treatment of terrorists that the O admin is intent on proceeding with, so hearing that this baddass soldier scared a terrorist so bad he wet his pants and started talking, will only help him IMO.
January 27, 2010 at 8:18 pm
I saw him being interviewed on Hannity (I know, I’m embarrassed I was watching)but I was very impressed by this guy, too. He seems like a great candidate!
January 27, 2010 at 11:04 am
Yes…concur on West…he is awesome!
January 27, 2010 at 1:37 pm
I came in here to make sure Allen West was on the Boys list. The video we have all seen is awe inspiring, but, he gave an impromptu speech a couple of weeks ago during a delay at a conference that took my breath away. I’ll dig around for it.
January 27, 2010 at 5:54 pm
This guy is awesome. I don’t live in the area. Let us know what we can do to help from afar.
January 27, 2010 at 10:09 am
HillBuzz: I agree with everything you have said here. I too have been disenfranchised from the “former democratic party” – as a white woman over 50 who strongly supported Hillary Clinton I was not wanted/needed in the “new” democratic party being formed by Donna Brazile. However, I just want to caution one thing: When republicans get into office, they are no better. The GOP dogged Bill and Hillary from Day One into their presidency and sought to destroy them (this culminating in Bill’s impeachment). It was George W. Bush that put us into this disastrous Iraq war and killed so many of our innocent young people. I do agree however, I have never seen such vileness that has come from the Left except from Joe McCarthy. Extremists on either side are bad news. The GOP from 2000-2008 was highjacked by staunch evangelicals who “ruined” the good things the republicans stood for (fiscal conservatism, strong national defense and smaller government interference) and wanted to impose their ultra-conservative views on everyone in America. So my point HillBuzz is, that yes, many democrats now in Congress have already run their course and should be replaced, but we need to be SMART about who they are replaced with. What really hurt me when the Dems got in office, I realized “they were just as bad as republicans”. I thought they would be better and found out they were worse! Sarah Palin is a strong conservative but she does not seek to impose her views on everyone in the world. IMO, that is what we should be looking for. Hope what I have said here makes any sense.
January 27, 2010 at 10:32 am
As a Hillary democrat, I don’t agree with your premise that evangelicals “ruined” the Republican party. Much of their concern deals with abortion which I just happen to agree with them on that particular issue. Typically, I am in agreement with you with regards to being careful about who one votes for, but right now the apple cart needs to be disturbed. Demoncrats need to be ousted NOW to teach them a lesson that they dearly need to learn. If not now, then when? I would accept the worse Republican who actually supports the constitution than a Democrat who seems reasonable, but ends up supporting then insane Democratic party agenda on its march to subverting the constitution. It’s a principled stand. Once the Democrats retreat from their foolishness, if that ever were to happen, then I’ll consider their candidates again. It is the actions of the Democratic party today that has helped me come to this conclusion. If the Republicans fail us in the future, then they will suffer the same dismal fate as what I believe the Demoncrats will suffer in the near future.
January 27, 2010 at 11:17 am
Agreed: most “religious” conservatives are just concerned about abortion and the flith they teach in schools. I am not an evangelical, but know some. Don’t fall for the MSM trap: to tar and feather people of faith as such. It serves their collective purposes very well, b/c they are masters of “wedge” politics. Liberals: think projection, ALL THE TIME!
January 27, 2010 at 11:20 am
Dear Nobama: I do not care if you are against abortion, that is your right to feel that way, but what I do care about is that it should not be the #1 issue (along with anti-gay rights) that many conservatives care about to the exclusion of other issues. It may be very important to them, but there needs to be a separation of church and state in this country and if republicans want to get back in power, they need to put pro-life on the back burner in terms of the GOP’s platform. In 2004 I worked for John Kerry’s campaign and we called many many registered republicans in Iowa, TX, MI, OH (that is how desperate the DNC was at that time) and I was told over and over again they like John Kerry but could not support him because he was not pro-life. Many of them admitted they did not like the war in Iraq and had concerns about George W. Bush in a second term, but sorry, pro-life trumped everything else. I am not trying to offend you or anyone here, just to make the point that in my opinion, the issues that will help get republicans elected will be to back off pro-life and focus on fiscal responsibility, strong national security and the like. Nobama, we are on the same side!
P.S. Americans are trying to send the message to Washington, we don’t care what party you are from, we just want an honest government, we want you to listen to us and work for us, not for yourselves and your own pocketbooks. Those who understand that message should be put into office.
January 27, 2010 at 12:06 pm
I hear your point, Susan, but if one drills down, you discover that the abortion issue and economics are tied together. Marxism, as an economic system, NEEDS to reduce the human person to a unit of economic value in order for it to work. Marxism can not tolerate the elevation of the individual to personal sovereignity, much less infinite value (the Christian position). So in the long-term, reducing a certain class of people to zero value, as abortion does, is completely incompatable with free market capitalism and federalism and essentially leaves the door cracked open for Marxism to creep in again and again under its various guises.
January 27, 2010 at 1:26 pm
I think this the narrow-minded type of thinking that the MSM tries to push on all of us. As Nobama pointed out, abortion is not necessarily a religious issue. For some people it is, but others just don’t like the idea of “killing” fetuses (apart from the whole “God created life” thing.)
People have a right to feel that this is the most important issue to them if they want to. If the gov’t said it was okay to kill people over the age of 70, would ANYONE stand up and say “Well, I don’t agree with that, but the economy is more important?”
I think that we should all refrain from placing judgment on what is important to people unless we’ve walked in their shoes.
BTW…Electing responsible politicians is not just about sending a message. More importantly, it’s about electing responsible politicians.
January 27, 2010 at 8:23 pm
I think that the far right Republicans are exactly the same as the far left liberal Democrats. They’re both extreme factions of each party. This country is now and probably always will be a center right country and that’s what we should be looking for – moderate views – from our politicians. I don’t want ANYTHING EXTREME from either party!
January 27, 2010 at 10:22 am
I’m a Christian conservative with a lot of gay friends…kinda weird huh? But there are so many SOCIAL issues like abortion and gay rights that I feel should be totally taken out of politics…they are both local, community and moral issues that are all very personal. They should be discussed outside the political arena.
I would love for you guys to support Marco…I’m sure he is pro-life and anti-gay marriage, but like you said…he doesn’t focus on that stuff. He is like Obama was…he stays on message every time I see him…like a lazer beam he keeps talking about limited gov’t, freedom, liberty, etc. And it doesn’t hurt that he’s good looking too!
January 27, 2010 at 10:43 am
This Democrat will vote for Marco in Florida if he is the Republican nominee. Charlie Crist is bad news. He is Obama-lite. I remember when Crist was running for governor. He had three massive images of himself draped from the skyscrapers of Tampa. I found that to be very creepy and narcissistic which is a dangerous trait for a politician to have.
January 27, 2010 at 2:54 pm
Agreed. Imo, abortion, religion, and sexual preference are social and personal issues. We will never agree on any of them. The State has no business in:
~the hospital
~the church
~the bedroom
Yet the politicians and the media typically use these issues as wedges to divide the factions (pro vs. con) of the competition. People shouldn’t fall for it, but they do so every time. The lesson from the grassroots and from our experience here at HillBuzz should tell us to just drop those issues from the political agenda.
January 27, 2010 at 8:25 pm
Being anti-abortion isn’t the state getting involved in someone’s “private medical decision” or whatever the currenly favored euphemism is. Abortion isn’t a hysterectomy or a sex change or a vasectomy or any other medical procedure that affects one set of DNA and one beating heart.
January 27, 2010 at 10:10 pm
I understand that you are not in favor of abortion as a form of birth control. I respect your belief on that.
I’m trying to say that the State should not legislate for or against any medical procedure, that this should be a (very) personal decision between patient and ethical practitioner. And that it shouldn’t be politicized by the wedgers, or me, or you.
And I hope this doesn’t generate a pro vs. anti firestorm here.
January 27, 2010 at 6:45 pm
I’m also a Rubio supporter, evangelical Christian, and I’ve got gay friends too!
When they hit us with the wedge issues, we (I) have to figure out a good way to turn the conversation back to the “real” issues that government should concern itself with. We need to force them to discuss substantive issues, and refuse to back up/down because we’ve been hit with a leftie talking point.
January 27, 2010 at 10:34 am
I was a Hillary supporter also, this DNC-there are no words low enough to describe them. What party goes to the most corrupt place on earth South Side of Chicago cesspool of corruption to find the most corrupt candidate on earth-Obama/Jarrett-slum lords(community organizers)and you wonder why the country has troubles. Root out corruption, that alone will restore our country.
January 27, 2010 at 10:37 am
You know, at the risk of rousing a lot of anger here, I’ve been thinking for the past year now that McCarthy was “on to something” back when he was ranting that communists were infiltrating the government. His only problem was that he was using the wrong wrong. Not communist but socialists and nazi’s. And what we know now, and he didn’t back then, was that this is being done in first taking over a political party (the D’s), and thereby taking over America. I think we should have listened more closely to him back then and “done our homework”. IMHO we wouldn’t be in this mess now if we had.
January 27, 2010 at 10:51 am
ps- I’m all for everything you say. I am a conservative independent who usually votes R, but who looks back longingly at the JFK days. No, not “Camelot” but the days of the democrat party that was for tax cutting, national defense, and less government. In other words, the days the D party was like the “talking points” of the R party today. I’m looking for the day when ONE of the R party does more than just talk about these things, but DOES them. I feel very much like the days of the American Revolution… that we have “taxation without representation”. We have someone SUPPOSEDLY representing us… but they seem to have forgotten what that word really means. Sorry for rambling… but… I’m with y’all! AMERICA FIRST!
January 27, 2010 at 10:50 am
And vote them out of office is exactly what I will be doing in 2010…Oh yeah, Hillbuzz, we support you 100%…..
January 27, 2010 at 11:04 am
I am happy you are planning on helping Michelle Bachmann. Me too.
After serving one more term as a representative, I would really like Michelle to take Amy Klobuchar’s place in the Senate.
When I told that to one of Amy’s aides on the phone he snickered at me. But all Michelle has to do is run an ad that shows blindfolded Amy signing her name to the 747 billion dollar “indentured servitude” bill, while playing the historic clip of the supposedly “crazy” Michelle yelling out “Whose looking out for the American people?”
January 27, 2010 at 11:17 am
Say what you will about the GOP and the Good Old Boys network, It isn’t a political machine bent on conquest. A conservative in his right mind has no desire for power over others despite the religious conservatives out there.
January 27, 2010 at 11:20 am
Please, can we not stereotype “religious” conservatives?
January 27, 2010 at 11:40 am
I’d like to caution all who speak against Christian Conservatives. Those who “bash” Christian Conservatives are guilty of doing the same thing as those who “bash” the gays. It’s opposite sides of the same “coin”. Let’s not point fingers at those who attacks guys, while doing our own attacking the other way. We need to get our focus OFF of gays and OFF of Conservative Christians, and back on AMERICA. Country First.
January 27, 2010 at 11:19 am
…saw that one coming a long time ago. ;)
I was just waiting to see how long it would take you boys to see it.
In the words of Rush Limbaugh, “Welcome Home”.
It’s what he says whenever someone calls after having had their eyes fully opened.
Might I now suggest, we all keep our eyes fully open. I know that I have blindly followed party at times. And that is not the way to bring about true reform.
January 27, 2010 at 11:20 am
Today I lift a glass to the 1894 voter revolution. May history repeat it’s self.

THIS is the type of leaders we need:
“Last point on this. We must not seek to create an alternate ego “rock star” on the other side of the aisle. Put not your total faith in any man or woman….and I mean that of myself as well……..put your faith in each other, in America, and its constitutional principles and values. If we do that, we can restore the ideals of this great country.”
January 27, 2010 at 11:49 am
I am definitely with you guys. Chuck DeVore is THE candidate to beat Boxer. A great website for all you Californians to get is the Flash Report:
http://www.flashreport.org/
Here is a great article on Fiorina responding to the love-in she had/has for Jesse Jackson. This chick is an opportunist all the way. And an idiot. Totally disconnected from the Repub base and a major suck-up to the beltway-RINO establishment.
http://hoguenews.com/?p=7653
The other guy in the race is Tom Campbell, the biggest panderer to the lefties in this state – he’ll say and do anything to get elected.
The word out here is that Meg Whitman told Campbell that if he’d drop out of the governor’s race and run against Boxer instead, that she would have her deep-pocket donors open their checkbooks for him. Since Campbell was raising NO MONEY for his campaign, he agreed.
Whitman sees that she’s going to win the primary and doesn’t want Fiorina on the same ticket – she sees Fiorina as a drag-down, which she is with all her H.P. baggage, not voting, etc. – so she’s unleashed Campbell to go after Fiorina.
Really, all Chuck DeVore needs is MONEY and he can win the primary.
I say line up all the candidates we support by the dates of their primaries and, as a collective, donate/work on each one. We can achieve things much better as a group.
I know this is long, but PLEASE support Pat Hughes in Illinois. If you thought the Brown win was significant, can you imagine if a conservative Republican took Dr. Utopia’s old seat? The primary is less than a week away – please, please, please donate what you can! Sign up at his website – if you live in Illinoi get yard signs, etc.

I think there are more and more conservatives who could not care less about if someone is gay or not. I’m a pro-life Christian, but it doesn’t bother me in the slightest if the gay couple next door wants to get married. Leave the church out of it, and I’m fine. I am willing to bet that there are many, many more out there just like me.
As a liberal turned conservative, let me just say welcome!
January 27, 2010 at 2:38 pm
Pretty much. Civil Unions = Awesome. Forcing me to change my religious beliefs = not awesome.

Mary Jo Kilroy OH-15 has to be defeated, and can be. In the last two elections: she lost the first to the incumbent by a few thousand votes, then won the open seat by a few thousand. She’s the poster child of out-of state union money, progressive/commie/whatever bad ideas, and totatlly dismissive of her constituents. Please help us.

I typically don’t post but read this site often, great work you do!
David Price NC04 must go, he’s a pull the lever D voter, it’s a tough district (can you say gerrymandering), contains liberal Chapel Hill but Frank Roche is a solid candidate, if anyone would like to support him, check out his site http://www.rocheforcongress.com/
Here’s a list of the DSA memebers of Congress, it’s scary, is anyone taking on Waxman? Waters? There are so many

YES, let’s get Price out of here. Indy, are you in the Triangle area? I’m here for school and have plenty of free time to volunteer for a solid opponent to Price.

You patriots
are not only pulling down the curtain that these radical Libs have been hiding behind, but you are also kicking over barriers between gays/lesbians and conservatives.
When your buds in Chicago give you crap over what it is you are doing, be sure and tell them that you have accomplished more in two weeks by yourself than what the whole gay and lesbian movement has done in 10 years.
Hang in there! We’re pulling for you and praying for you.

Former Dem here saying, yes, every Dem who is up for re-election (from Senator to Dog Catcher) must be voted out in 2010. The party has pulled so far to the left it’s gone beyond the pale. And their cluelessness (and/or complicitness w/the enemy) is so dangerous it could get us all killed.

FYI
Coakley Conceded More than an Election
Excerpt:
Coakley and this election are a wake-up call for the left and for the Democratic party.
No, actually, it’s an ear-shattering warning siren going off, and if the DNC doesn’t dig
the crap out of their ears and start listening to the very people who voted them into
power a year ago, every hard won victory they’ve had is in jeopardy…
The right had over eight years to screw up this country with an unjust war, a devastated economy,
and incompetency in the face of natural disasters and man-made ones alike before the voters had
finally had enough of it and got rid of them – with the only other option available – our guys.
Don’t you believe for a second that by defeating them in the last election that they can’t come back….
Our guys, the Democrats, with the popular backing of the country and complete control
of the House, the Senate and the White house have blown it… in only a year.
From Crooks & Liars which I to which I will not link.
January 27, 2010 at 2:23 pm
Also FYI….
From Not Your Sweetie’s blog….
Obama is LOSING the liberal and gay base in NYC’s East Village. See what she found there today on her walk.
“Oops! There goes Obama’s base in NYC – photo
I was walking a mere 2 blocks away from where they lined up in droves to vote for him in November 2008. In east Village.
And this is what I saw.”

From “progressive(?) Bart Cop:
“The DNC isn’t interested in your vote. They’re interested in your donation.
No donation, no time. No donation, no invite. No donation, you don’t exist.”
— osisbs
I remember in 1998 I dropped by the DNC in Washington.
They told me I wasn’t allowed into the building.
I told them, “But I’m Bartcop.” and they said they never heard of me.
At the time, I was one of the only “bloggers” sticking up for Clinton.
January 27, 2010 at 4:26 pm
It’s the same at the RNC. Now they are short on cash. Apart from Steele’s rediculous wage, contributors are now sending money directly to their favorite candidates, rather than to the Party organ (love that Russian word for a nefarious political organization).

January 27, 2010 at 4:28 pm
PLease, oh please make it Dennis Cooksinich
January 27, 2010 at 4:30 pm
Hey Hillbuzz guys – I love your site and it’s now required daily reading. I would love to see you throw your support against anyone running against Dennis Kucinich – they don’t get any kookier or left-fringier than this nut. But the little Ukranian ladies on the West Side love him. Same thing with Strickland – he needs to go before he destroys Ohio’s economy completely. Here’s one very Catholic, very conservative voter who doesn’t give a crap who you marry, what you do in your bedroom, and wants the government the hell out of all of our lives. I think we have a lot of room for agreement on everything else!
January 27, 2010 at 8:42 pm
Great statement, Jane. Liberals have been casting Americans against each other for a hundred years. And we have allowed this to happen! They have placed us into tiny compartments of differences and baited us to snarl at each other. Here we go…men v womem, black v white, straight v gay, city v country, Christian v Jew, rich v middle class, Democrat v Republican, and on and on…when the reality is that we are all Americans First, and can work on those social differences only when our Constitution is safe. So, lets get to work as a unit and get rid of the evil bunch trying to shred our Constitution.
But we must, must avoid a third party. A third party will only keep Obummer and Company in office another four years.
January 27, 2010 at 4:40 pm
go HILLBUZZ!!!!! good for you ….. gays relying on these corrupt buffoons to advance their causes will go personally bankrupt before they see ‘change’ from thugs like Obama .
Next up hopefully are blacks who finally see that even with a hard left black president , their lot in life only gets worse and they renounce the evil Sharpton , Jackson , Obama troika and realize they will have to work in life and depend on themselves vs fake liberals who keep them enslaved on the liberal plantation .
February 1, 2010 at 12:07 am
Just found this site thru a posting on SmartGirlsPolitics. This is great! Please look into Keith Smith and the FDR movement – his website is under construction but should have a lot of things being added within the month. http://www.conservativemessenger.com. Trying to get back to core values and explain to blacks that they were not born Democratic – that the government (and Democratic Party) are the current day slave owners. But now the slaves are of all races not just black.
I have been voting mainly Democratic because of the social issues but realize now that we have to get the country back first then discuss these other things. If the Republicans can back off these issues and just stick to the FDR Life Empowering Values of Respect for the Constitution, Respect for Life, Belief in Limited Goverment, and Belief in Individual Responsibility they can count on me.
Sounds like the Republicans may be able to finally cross the aisle and bring in the gay/black/women voters – what more of a majority do you need?
January 27, 2010 at 4:46 pm
I don’t expect this race to be on your top 5 by any means, but I will be voting for (and assisting, if possible) Jaynee Germond for OR district 4. Peter DeFazio is the D incumbent, and while he did vote against cap-and-tax, citing the complete failure of it to anything useful in Europe, he did vote for the DeathCare bill. And he then has the gall to have a national debt counter on his congresisonal web page! My MiL says that he’s always been good on veterans’ affairs, but the HCare Rationing Bill was a line in the sand for me as well, and I cannot support him.
The other Oregon race I’m keeping an eye on is Oregon district 1, currently held by David Wu. There are a few people duking it out for the R nomination; the only one I know about is John Kuzmanich, and he would have my vote in a second. He actually reached out to me on Facebook (he saw I was on Tammy Bruce’s frind page), and I’ve liked what I’ve seen thusfar.
I mentioned before that Sen. Rod Wyden is up for re-election this year, and that the OR R party seems to be contemplating their collective naval rather than picking a viable opposing candidate.
The other race I’ll be watching is a state legislature race. The man currently in that seat is my old high school principal, and a very nice man, but he’s been on board with growing government and increasing taxes, so I really can’t support him anymore.
Also, I had no idea that Oregon SoS Kate Brown was one of Soros’ lackeys. I unwittingly voted for her in ’08, and I kinda take that personally. So she’s on my poop list as well. Not sure when she’s up for ouster, but I’ll get on that.

Wow. What a pleasure to read gays who are principled, patriotic, thoughtful, humane, and ballsy in the best senses of that word…
I’m glad I found your blog. I hope you are getting the support you need to expose those on the right and left who fail to understand the true pluralistic nature of liberty.
January 27, 2010 at 5:57 pm
This conservative hetro man is 100% behind you guys!
Thank you so much for braving the fascists that is becoming the Democrat party.
January 27, 2010 at 6:04 pm
Boy do I agree with you on the gay issue. I have always voted Republican, but as I said on another thread, I’m more libertarian. I’m not terribly concerned about who is gay or not, or most social issues. I cannot say I want my child to learn in elementary school that sleeping with men is just another lifestyle decision, BUT, what grown adults do is of no concern to me.
People need to look how Bob McDonnell won the VA governorship. He is a strong conservative, is pro life and pro tradional marriage. But those issues were not raised during his campaign. All he talked about was jobs, the economy, no Obamacare, and death to terrorists. He acknowledged he is a traditional values guy but didn’t push it. THAT’s how you build a Reagan-like coalition of Repubs, moderate Dems and independents.
January 27, 2010 at 7:04 pm
I just want to thank Hillbuzz for bringing back what it means to be American – respect, working together, and lots of humor!
Thank you, guys, and I hope you realize that by you going after these bottom-feeders, you are breaking the machine of Dr. Utopia. And it started with the campaign and election of Scott Brown.
Thanks and God bless.
January 27, 2010 at 7:06 pm
Hey, I forgot to ask, what do you guys (HillBuzz) think about Dr. Utopia lifting don’t-ask-don’t-tell? Can he buy his gay base back with that?
January 27, 2010 at 7:15 pm
There’s some thinking that Susan Hutchison might attempt to run as the Republican candidate to replace Senator Patty Murray in Washington State.
She would seem to meet the criteria and be worth checking out.
January 27, 2010 at 8:26 pm
It’s the most transparent pivot ever just to divide based on social issues.
My little gay self ain’t going back to that kool aid. Obama wouldn’t march in CHICAGO PRIDE; as if the Dems — lest of all HE — care about gay rights.
DADT won’t go anywhere. This “call to action” is just a tool to distract away from the issues Americans — gay, straight, and everything else — actually care about.
Economy, economy, economy. That’s where America is 90% united.
January 27, 2010 at 7:15 pm
I started browsing your website during the last presidential election. I have been hooked recently and lurk everyday now. Even though I’m not a Hillary supporter, I agree with most of what I read here. For the record, I’m a mostly conservative Republican and I really couldn’t care less with whom you share your love live. Good luck with the slander fight.
January 27, 2010 at 7:29 pm
I appreciate the stand you guys are taking. While I don’t agree with your life style, when it comes right down to we’re all Americans and have a love of country.
The Democrat Party has become corrupt and become the home to socialism, marxism and communism.
Perhaps together we take down this corrupt machine. Stay in the fight and don’t give up.
January 27, 2010 at 8:04 pm
BTW guys, as a Rebub, or a Libertarian or whatever you want to call me, I could really care less who you love and who you want to sleep with.
Just keep fighting the good fight!

Just recieved word that Rubio is ahead of Crist by 3 points in the latest Quinnipiac Poll. Crist has lots of money, and some time to collect more. Lets not lose this momentum for Rubio.

This republican could care less if y’all bat for the other team. Coalition building focuses on issues, not what y’all do with consenting adults in the privacy etc.

Another wonderful candidate for office in 2010 is Michael Williams. He is running for Kay Bailey Hutchinson’s Senate seat in Texas. She is supposed to resign in March. Michael has been a Railroad Commissioner for several terms and has perfect conservative credentials. He will be a great replacement for KBH who is not all that conservative. Please check out his website williamsfortexas.com.

I am a lifelong Republican and I want every incumbent Republican out. Anyone that has been in office needs to be put out.

I agree with you about the whole gay thing. There are much greater battles to fight. Who cares anyway? It’s just another “tool” politicans use to against us. I’ve had gay friends for over 40 years, long before it became an “issue”. I say BS!
Let’s move on to important things such as the Boyz suggest…like getting rid of the “progressive” idiots in elected offices.
We must all work to save this country by working extra hard.

Okay, ANYONE WHO IS RUNNING AGAINST CLAIRE.
That subtle enough?

I’m a gay dude who grew up in the midwest, and used to be a Democrat. Then I realized I wasn’t an individual to the socialist wing of the party. I was merely to be incorporated into the machine. I was not to think for myself. Funk that.
Welcome aboard boys. We should all be libertarians. Let em fight for our votes with the quality of their character and the weight of their arguments.

What took you so long? And can I reprint part of this on my blog and cite you?

A friend posted this. If you live in Illinois or have friends that live in Illinois please copy this note’s address from your navigation bar and share this with your friends. Squash Marktha Kirkley!
Tomorrow, Friday, January 29, there is a TEA PARTY RALLY to say NO TO RINOs in FEDERAL PLAZA in downtown Chicago. The rally is at 2:30pm. Immediately following the rally, going to be a MARCH ON MICHIGAN AVENUE to let Chicago and Illinois know we need conservatives NOT RINOS (MARK KIRK). All attendees are PLEASE to bring signs, banners supporting Patrick Hughes and signs and banners saying NO to RINO Mark Kirk.

I was originally going to follow up about how much I believe in Indiana’s best US Senate Candidate, Marlin Stutzman, but it’s more time-sensitive to talk about Patrick Hughes. A friend of mine is Hughes’ campaign manager, so I called him last night and he says they’re doign well but it’s still going to be an uphill battle.
So please go to http://PatrickHughesforSenate.com and donate to the campaign, even if it’s just $5, it will help with the last minute push.
Hughes’ campaign isn’t pulling any punches and I hope we all appreciate that when he’s running against a complete RINO like “Marktha Kirkley”.

[...] Among the many, many reasons I’m mocking this not-as-funny-or-edgy-as-they-think-it-is idea is that, first of all, my wife is as free of Obamessiah brainwashing as I am; so I’m not risking anything by continuing to oppose a hostile takeover of our health care which will drive costs up and drive both “health” and “care” way down. Secondly, as I just posted in yesterday’s “Won’t Get Fooled (So Easily) Again” (along with a picture of an actual real-world liberal who’ll actually want to have sex with you, unlike those Hollywood “Rock the Vote” airheads that you’ll never get near no matter how you vote), liberal propaganda and bribes just aren’t working for them anymore. They really should be falling back on the actual facts and trying to make a reasoned argument – but they can’t. They know damned well, and always have, what a loser this bill is which is why, from the very beginning, they have been using smoke and mirrors, artificial haste, secrecy (not letting anyone read the bill, keeping the discussions off of C-SPAN), lies, bribery, and extortion to try to ram this thing through as fast as they can, before anyone catches on and tries to stop them. Regardless of the polls saying that most Americans don’t want this, regardless of recent elections which were made into referenda on Obama (in which Obama himself campaigned for the Democrats, who lost every time), regardless of the Constitution itself, they simply refuse to back down from their glorious dream of bringing socialism to the masses. And, as many have observed, one can no longer honestly use the term “moderate Democrat”. Every single one of them has supported this outrage, which is why every single one of them has to go. [...]
