We made it!
One of the worst years in memory is over. Today’s a fresh start. We promise a full recap of New Year’s Eve in Boystown once we wake up sometime this morning, or afternoon, or maybe tomorrow. Depends on how much fun the New Year’s was.
As we start 2010, we’d like you to consider doing something special today: reach out to someone you are estranged from. It’s a new year, why not reconnect? ”I’m sorry” are two tough words to say, but a joy to hear. Even if you’re not the one who’s wrong, even if you’re not even sorry, we bet you are the stronger and bigger person in the dynamic. Someone has to take the first step towards forgiveness and reconciliation. Fair or not, it looks like that someone has to be you.
Things in this country are going to get a lot worse before they get any better. You are going to need friends and allies like never before in the coming years. People are going to need you too. So, why not put aside those old grievances, and take the “Auld Lang Syne” to heart?
Even if you are rebuffed. Even if someone won’t take your call. Call ‘em anyway. Tell ‘em we said hi. Blame us for the awkwardness if you want (’cause we sure enough get blamed for just about everything else that happens). ”I know you are mad, and I didn’t want to call, but those damn gay guys in Chicago at HillBuzz, those damn Hillary guys in Boystown, told me I needed to call you, so here I am.”
And no “Louella Apologies” either, where you bitterly screech something like, “I’m sorry you feel that way”, “I’m sorry you are mad,” or “I’m sorry I got caught and you were able to prove what I did”.
The love and compassion you show towards others today, on this first day of the year, will set your tone for all of 2010. The love you put out there today will come back to you tenfold, but only if you open your hearts to it.
2010 is going to be a year of hard work and sacrifice. We wish we could sugarcoat that for you, but it’s true. Those of us that love this country are up against horrible odds, with a White House and Congress, not to mention the entire Liberal-Socialist Democrat Party, seemingly bent on America’s destruction.
We’re ALL going to need all the friends we can get…all the support we can muster…and all the positivity we can send out there.
Today is a holiday of rest, reflection, and renewal. Tomorrow begins again the hard work to take this country back.
As always, we wish you the very best today…and can’t wait to hear what you’ve planned, what changes you’ll make, and what you are working towards in 2010.

To all posters, lurkers, and to HB – Happy New Year!! Wishing you all much love, health and prosperity.
And on Jan. 2, “Let’s Roll”
January 1, 2010 at 1:59 am
“Let’s Roll!” I had forgotten about that phrase from 9/11. How appropriate for our mission now.

Happy New Year from the CTZ!
“Our lives are made of days and nights, of seasons and years, for we are part of a universe of suns and moons and planets. We mark ends and we make beginnings and, in all, we praise God for the grace and mercy that fill our days.” – the Catholic Book of Blessings.
As of August 3, 2009, both of my parents are residing “beyond the moon and stars”. For them and for my son, I will never give up the fight for my country. NEVER.
January 1, 2010 at 10:27 am
Bless You! And Never give up.
January 1, 2010 at 1:53 am
Happy, Healthy New Year to all!
2009 was pretty awful in some ways, so let’s put it behind us and gird our loins for 2010 and the fight ahead.
We are in a classic fight of good versus evil and good MUST prevail!
Hillbuzz, you guys are just so sweet and optimistic. Bless you for caring so much and for putting your ‘all’ into this great forum!
I’m so sorry 2009 was a sad year for you, personally, and hope 2010 is much better.
Cheers.

Back atcha! And we’re honored by your presence. Many blessings on those in the land down under!
I’ve come to love your continent-country by having worked with a number of authors (on the U.S. editions of their great kids’ books) from your homeland. What an absolute pleasure they are! (As are you!)

Happy New Year to some great babes! Thanks for making 2009 more interesting and entertaining, and for motivating us all to get involved in 2010.
One question – are you going to start posting your articles on Facebook again? I would love to be able to pass them along to my FB friends too, just a thought.
Happy New year!
January 1, 2010 at 6:58 am
Sleep well HillBuzz guys! Happy New Year to all. Apologize if I’m already back in righteous indignation:
I’ve recently seen that FDIC was running in the red, and more recently heard that FDIC is back to insuring at the $100 K mark. (Sorry – too lazy to hunt up links). But have a link for the following:
Dec. 31 (Bloomberg) — The Mayo Clinic, praised by President Barack Obama as a national model for efficient health care, will stop accepting Medicare patients as of tomorrow at one of its primary-care clinics in Arizona, saying the U.S. government pays too little.
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aHoYSI84VdL0
January 1, 2010 at 8:34 am
Yep,
the US gov only reimburses about 80 cents on the dollar of actual costs! IOW, if a medicine costs the hospital at time of purchase 10 bucks, the Medicare only refunds 8 of them.
SO, they have to up their prices to the other patients.
Toss in indigent care and the hospital has to up their prices even more.
January 1, 2010 at 10:54 am
First, Happy New Year everyone!!!
I was going to ignore politics today, but then Pamela had to drop a land mine. Thanks :P
Anyway, medicare is planned to drop 21.2% on 1 March.
http://www.ama-assn.org/amednews/2009/12/28/gvl11228.htm
Washington — President Obama has signed legislation that would prevent a 21.2% Medicare payment cut from taking place Jan. 1 by freezing physician rates for two months.
The temporary patch, which expires after Feb. 28, 2010, is intended to give Congress additional time to craft a more lasting solution to the doctor pay problem. It piggybacked on the fiscal 2010 appropriations bill for the Defense Dept., which helps fund the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. The White House announced Dec. 21 that the president had signed the legislation.
January 1, 2010 at 10:59 am
Apologies, Ashter. I’m a fanatic about our republic. :(
January 1, 2010 at 11:40 am
GREAT letter from a doctor in Ben Nelson’s state (h/t to Michelle Malkin):
http://michellemalkin.com/2009/12/20/a-nebraska-doctors-message-for-ben-nelson/
January 1, 2010 at 10:26 pm
She (the doctor) nailed this one. The bad news for Nebraskans is when their physicians take the automatic 21% medicare, medicaid hit. The docs will be moving to border cities in a state next door, or simply retiring. They will have no physicians.

Happy New Year everyone.
2010 HAS to be better than 2009, doesn’t it?
January 1, 2010 at 8:55 am
basil, knowledge is power. People are catching on. ’10 will be better because we’re that much closer every day to voting many of these thugs out.
January 1, 2010 at 11:03 am
basil, getfit. In your positive context, this also is good news:
(CNN) — Americans will usher in the new decade less hopeful than they were at the dawn of the millennium in 2000, says a new national poll.
In 1999, 85 percent of Americans surveyed said they were hopeful about their own future, and 68 percent said they were hopeful for what the New Year boded for the world. http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/12/31/us.confidence.poll/index.html?eref=rss_politics&iref=polticker
It’s good news ’cause they are really gonna be ready for change now!

January 1, 2010 at 10:04 am
Happy New Year’s HillBuzz!!
you guys are the best! Will be working hard this year to oust EVERY freaking democrat/socialist/marxist OUT of office.
I am no longer a democrat(I no longer recognize this freak of a party!),I am like most Americans a freedom-loving-America-loving-citizen. And these are the type of people who will be getting my campaign time, votes and money!
January 1, 2010 at 10:26 am
The hardest thing to come up with in life is knowing what the right thing is to do. Once you figure out what that is, take a stand and trust it. Trust your actions, trust yourself. Start down the path.
What we are fighting for, MATTERS. All rhetoric aside, this is plainly about right and wrong, what works and what doesn’t.
You are not alone. Literally millions of people feel the same way. It’s time to bring back balance to our government and put the power back into the hands of the people.
January 1, 2010 at 10:34 am
Thanks Boys. We really appreciate you and everything you do every day. Love, hugs, and encouragement to you for a wonderful 2010.

Boyz,
Happy New Year, and thanks for the wonderful posts! Ran across this while looking on a site the hubs wanted me to pull up – it’s the regulations for a “Unicorn Hunting License”…..
http://www.lssu.edu/banished/uh_regulations.php
January 1, 2010 at 11:57 am
That’s cute! Must be a great college.
I never knew you could hunt unicorns – I thought they had to be bestowed by The One (from whom all bullsh*t flows). Oh, dang! There I’ve gone and destroyed the high-minded tenor of this thread by introducing political snark. I’m sorry – the residual “hopey-changitude” made me do it.
Happy New Year to all!!!

BTW HillBuzz, you may wanna see what Michlle “finally proud to be American” Antoinette wore to the Marine base in Hawaii.
It was a white sundress, see through in the light. *shuddering*
Can’t figure out if this woman is this stupid or really stupid.

Can you please write that she needs to speak out. and remember science is supposed to be questioned.
There is a reason why its called “THEORY of relativity”, its not a law of science yet.

All the best in 2010 Boyz and fellow Buzzerz!
I wanted to take the day ‘off’ but just can’t. Seem. To. Unplug.
Anyone else watch the Ball drop last night? Anyone else find it amazingly suspicious (or deliciously ironic) that the most camera hogging _Resident eveh didn’t have a remote link from Hawaii?!? So he could wish (or shout out…JayZ was in da house on NBC) his peeps a Happy New Year (like Anna hovering in V) on a JumboTron in Times Square. Can’t we all “hear” the massive reverb on Dear Leader’s ‘ahhhhs’ and ‘ummmms.’
I point this out…because since Christmas Day’s near terrorist attack…The Won has been oddly silent. Appearing disasteriously on tape, then–in an attempt to pretend he IS FDR and his only medium IS radio–the redux, audio only ‘mulligan’ the next day.
And yesterday…hmmmm…Drudge has up a photo (at an odd angle…like trying to avoid photo taking opportunities–even with tele lens) with Dear Leader looking (hair and skin tone–and hasn’t he been in sun on golf courses for the last week?) very gray; with glasses. Huh? Odd.
Just odd…
January 1, 2010 at 12:59 pm
And a very knobby shoulder bone too.
January 1, 2010 at 1:07 pm
Happy New Years Pamela!!!
And thank you for the Medicare link above…
But on Dear LeaderKs appearance…I was startled…because there had been a photo released of Barry (his Island name :) ) getting into the President Limo (the HopeMobile) and he looked like he had a bit of a paunch…skinny ‘fat’ with a belly. And the Drudge picture looks like he lost 30lbs.
Are “health concerns’ on the horizon?
January 1, 2010 at 1:19 pm
That is interesting. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him with glasses on, though it’s not surprising.
As for the gray hair, it could be a trick of the light, but I think he dyes his hair.
Let me put it this way…
You don’t fly your hairdresser in from Chicago just to give you a buzz cut that any old barber, your wife, or even yourself could do at home with clippers.
It’s not like he’s sporting a Bill Clinton hairdo, or dreadlocks, or anything that requires an actual scissor cut. I guarantee that’s nothing more than clippers.
But when you’re the president and you get your hair dyed, you want to use a professional, not some crap out of the box, and preferably someone who know exactly what color to use and exactly how long to leave it in etc.
Not that I hold it against the man for dyeing his hair. Just saying….
January 1, 2010 at 11:28 pm
It was obvious in the primaries that he was dying his hair. He also wears a lot of makeup. I’ve seen a few shots of him sans makeup, and his face is totally covered in moles. Only the one giant one can’t be covered, so that one is very noticable. Maybe he has the same hairdresser so noone else can see the big scar. I also noticed the change in color of his makeup. It used to be a lot lighter.

It sounds like the “religion of peace” has claimed another 60 lives in Pakistan, a country that utopia had graced with his presence using another country’s passport. But we won’t go there. Happy New Year everyone!

Happy New Year to you Hillbuzz guys and to all of you posters.
I have a daughter who lives in Mass. & I will try to talk to her about “Hottie”, altho I don’t know if she votes. Maybe she could talk to some people at work who do vote and have some influence about the issue.
January 1, 2010 at 9:44 pm
This is the perfect time to beg her to vote – and I do mean beg!
January 1, 2010 at 9:00 pm
God Bless you Hillbuzz guys in 2010 and Happy New Year to all!!
Thanks for the good words on reconciliation. I was estranged from my father for 18 years for what I thought were good reasons – preservation of my own sanity being the biggest one. Then after the tragic suicide of a close family member, suddenly the reasons for the estrangement didn’t seem very important anymore. The family clung together and I came back together with my father again. It’s been good so far. I’m glad we reconciled. If he passes on, I will definitely miss him – not totally forgetting the horrendous times but concentrating on the good times we have had. Reconciling is definitely the best path, if it’s at all possible…

I appreciate you for giving such a wonderful portal. Your website is not just useful but also very inventive too. We find only few experts who can think to create technical articles that creatively. All of us are on the lookout for information regarding this topic. We ourselves searched in dozens of blogs to build up on information with respect to this.Looking to many more from your site !!
