This is a matter of grave concern to us, because we believe the current president’s unprecedented decision to maintain his political campaign organization, in perpetual campaign mode, during his presidency means that in 2011, if not sooner, Democrats will work aggressively to select a doomed Republican presidential candidate for 2012. We believe, as we repeatedly say here, the MSM is already at work on this, pushing “The Five Horsemen of the GOP 2012 Apocalypse”. Currently, the men being pushed for 2012 by the media are Mitt Romney, John Thune, Tim Pawlenty, Charlie Crist, and John Huntsman. Some weeks, Bobby Jindal replaces Hunstman. On rare occasions, Haley Barbour or Newt Gingrich are up there instead of Crist. None of these men can do what needs to be done in 2012:
(1) Provide an obvious, clearcut, immediate remedy to Dr. Utopia, since a winning GOP candidate must be a narrative answer to all of Dr. Utopia’s failures
(2) Excite supporters to hit the ground, phone bank, donate, and work their tails off to take back the White House
(3) Control the campaign’s message despite the media’s every effort to sabotage and destroy it
Republicans need to understand they are not just up against the DNC and the White House. They are also going to have to run against the MSM itself in 2012. The MSM is 100% committed to re-electing Dr. Utopia. Many, such as Chris Matthews at MSNBC, have said on air their job is to see that he succeeds. The only positive thing we can say about the MSM, thus, is that they are so open about what they are doing. They are no longer journalists, but de facto political staff volunteering for Dr. Utopia while being paid as “journalists”.
Here is what we think is going to happen as 2012 approaches:
(A) The MSM will continue, every day, to throw everything they can at Sarah Palin in efforts to destroy her personally, and to break her spirit so that she decides it’s not worth running. The MSM is engaged in what we can only liken to the Blitz on London: they will saturate bomb the Palins for the next two years so that someone in the family breaks and convinces Palin herself that they can’t take any more of this and want her to get out of the spotlight. Of course, the flaw in this is that such a thing will never happen. The Palins need to realize they are now one of “America’s families”. Too many people love them, too many hate them, and too many are fascinated by them for the MSM to ever let them go. Even if Sarah Palin retired completely, as the MSM would like, and lived the rest of her life as a hermit on an obscure island in Alaska, the MSM would continue to report on everything this family did. They all are, honestly, just too damn interesting for the MSM to let go of. So, they’re in a very weird position. Damned if she runs, damned if she doesn’t, and guaranteed to be pummeled and harrassed no matter what, really.
(B) The DNC will coordinate with ACORN, the SEIU, and other criminal organizations to rig the Iowa Caucus just as they did in 2008. This is so very easy to do. The caucuses in Iowa can only charitably be described as “wonton chaos-fests”. The people running them are very, very old and in many cases senile. Dr. Utopia’s operatives gained control of the doors and voter registration tables for the 2008 caucuses. If you didn’t look like you were going to vote the way they wanted you to, you were not allowed to caucus. WE SAW THEM DO THIS. They will do it again in 2012, only this time they’re going to push Pawlenty or Romney to a win in Iowa to stop Sarah Palin. Democrats will bus down from Chicago to vote Romney or Pawlenty. It will be unreal and wholly transparent, but the MSM will refuse to cover the story and will instead pretend, all of a sudden, everyone in the world is excited about Tim Pawlenty — a man who looks like he’s made of mayonnaise, Wonderbread, and bathroom caulk.
(C) After Romney or Pawlenty wins Iowa, the MSM will next work to make sure whoever that is comes in second in New Hampshire, so the race looks like it’s a “Romney or Pawlenty” choice, forcing Palin out – the way they repeatedly tried to force Hillary Clinton out of the race and that vile, deceased pig Tim Russert used to bellow loudly “Get out! Get out! Get out!”.
(D) Starting in South Carolina, with Palin out, the MSM will then start to push whoever is the absolute worst of the men left in the race. That would be either Jindal or Crist. Jindal is the single ugliest politician the Republicans have put forward for any elected office in our nation’s history. He is awkward, goofy, ugly, and once participated in an exorcism. There will never be any national movement to have this man’s face put on portraits in every government building in the country, let alone our money. Crist is, of course, a former patron of the Green Iguana bar in Tampa, Florida, whose recent marriage to novelty products and fake beards heiress Carole Rome fools no one. Both would be electoral college disasters.
(E) The MSM does not want Dr. Utopia to squeak by with a win, they want him to have a blowout. So, the MSM will push whatever man they think could flame out most spectacularly in 2012. Ain’t no bigger flamer than Charlie Crist. At least that’s what they say down at the Green Iguana. The racial cudgel could be used to push Jindal, with the MSM insisting Republicans would be RAAACIST not to push the first Indian-American as its nominee. We doubt that would work, but The Marginot Line teaches us entrenched organizations tend to fight future battles with successful tactics of the past. Since race-baiting worked so well in the 2008 campaign, and the MSM so thoroughly enjoyed engaging in it, with personal glee, expect it to be used again in 2012.
(F) The wildest thought we have had about 2012 involves Levi Johnston, and we didn’t really know where to fit this into the mix, so we’ll leave it here at (F). It sure feels to us, living in a big city and being familiar with the bar and party scene, that the MSM is pushing Johnston on a road to self-destruction. He keeps getting these invites to Hollywood parties, where drugs are available, and to weird adult-industry gatherings, where drugs are available. It feels like there’s a deliberate and coordinated push to get this kid hooked on drugs so that he hurts himself in the future — and possibly even ends up dead from an overdose or car accident or something. THEN, the MSM will start accusing the Palins of murdering him. It’s the only thing they have not accused this family of, yet. It feels like people are saying, “Hey, get that kid over to an open bar and let’s see what happens. Could be fun. He could really f*** himself up and that would be great TV”. Here in Boystown, if you don’t like someone at work or wherever, you start giving them chocolates. Then, after a while, you start bringing in pastries, working up to doughnuts, giving them candy all the time, until you make them fat. Then, you sit back and enjoy the mess you’ve made of them, as they’re depressed they’ve gotten fat, so then you can start bringing in pizza for lunch to make them fatter. We swear, people here play manipulative games like this. Beware Greeks bearing gifts, and gays holding chocolate.
Democrats are already plotting and scheming to hold onto the White House in 2012.
Republicans, meanwhile, are staring up at the ceiling or sitting on their couches refusing to think about 2012 until sometime mid-2012. Like they always do.
The only way to stop the MSM and the DNC is to start thinking about what can be done NOW to prevent them from running one of The Five Horsemen against Dr. Utopia.
How can we stop the DNC from gaming the Iowa caucus itself, which needs to be gamed to set their whole plan in motion.
What think you?

You have not only hit the nail on the head, but are the absolute first to make it a project. My donation follows.
December 30, 2009 at 12:38 pm
I don’t know about other Republicans, but I started thinking about 2012 shortly after election night.
As for how we can respond, why not do what they’re planning and fight fire with fire? If we already know they’re going to try to skew Iowa, why not be prepared for that probability and send in our own “troops” as it were to make sure they can’t create the outcome of their choice?
We can’t count on the establishment GOP. They’re close to worthless. Just look at MA…where they’ve only sent 50K to the GOP candidate up there vying for Kennedy’s seat.
So this will take some kind of coordination with the 912ers and the Tea Partiers who understand the stakes.
December 30, 2009 at 12:41 pm
Gut reaction: The Hillbuzz Boyz need to choose Republican ballots on primary day, Tuesday 2 February 2010. One of you contact the Cook County GOP and see what you can do to become an appointed Republican committeeman or whatever they call them in Cook County. (It is too late to be elected unless you meet the deadline to become a write-in.) Then attend Cook County Republican meetings and any Illinois Republican meetings you can. Don’t let your voices be drowned out. You want to be heard in the GOP? Just put on the hat and tie . . . you cannot be hushed.
That’s a gut reaction. And the rest of us have to do the same in our own towns, cities, villages, etc.
December 30, 2009 at 1:23 pm
The true power of the Democratic war machine is the way the Network News (ABC/NBC/CBS) treat most of what Obama/Biden say with kid gloves, while being hyper-critical of Republican candidates.
CNN is just as bad, and MSNBC might as well change it’s name to the Obama channel. Chris “Obama thrills my leg” Matthews has become a complete joke in terms of credible, non-partisan journalism. Olbermann used to be a Hillary supporter, even calling her a “friend” at one point, yet he viciously attacked her to help Obama gain the nomination.
Take away the influence of the MSM, and you defeat the Democrats plans.
I’m not sure what WE can do to help this happen, besides refusing to watch, complaining to those networks whenever possible, and getting our friends and family to do the same.
However, the MSM is marginalizing itself by its clearly jaded and dishonest coverage. Obama will likely find a much smaller and far less enamored audience come 2011.
December 30, 2009 at 3:28 pm
Oh do I EVER remember how Olberman kicked Hillary to the curb.
What a petulent, slithery little snake he is…
(Apologies to any actual ‘snakes’ I am NOT a reptophobe…)
December 30, 2009 at 7:33 pm
I’ve yet to understand why the teapartiers haven’t had a march on the all the state run media outlets. Hit every paper, tvnews network, magazine, etc. Imagine what millions of people storming these a-holes would do.
December 30, 2009 at 1:26 pm
Hillbuzz – you’re right on. The MSM is an instrument in Utopia’s re-election. We have to do what we can to neutralize the MSM. The alternative media will have to kick into action. I’ve already made up my mind to contact the GOP and ask they’ve finally grown a spine yet. In the past, I’ve hurled my criticism at them and yet, I’ve casted my vote for the GOP candidate in order to prevent the election of a liberal. I’ve not been vocal enough and been convincing enough to them. Not this time – I’ve seen that we’ve lost too much not to be proactive, and I will start at the local level and work towards the national level. I’ll put it to them, this is where my values are and I want the candidate to support them. Because if the GOP uses the same tactics as in the past in order to avoid any possibility that they are called a racist, then we are truly doomed. Starting on Jan 2, I’m hitting the ground running.
December 30, 2009 at 1:29 pm
A huge step is also to close primaries.
Too many democrats voted in the republican primaries to get McCain nominated rather than anyone else, simply because they knew he was the last choice any republicans wanted to get the nomination. We also have to really work to get all of the skeletons out of the Obama closet for all of the world to see.
December 30, 2009 at 1:31 pm
The Iowa and other states problem can be solved locally, because I do not count the RNC to do anything good.
So, the Tea Parties people MUST take over the local organizations, which are responsible for the caucuses and such.
The new blood into the political system is our only chance we have.
December 30, 2009 at 2:39 pm
Right on cobra, that’s EXACTLY the right prescription. Everyone needs to get involved locally, and the Tea Party infrastructure must meld itself or impose itself on the current GOP framework. Only this infusion of new blood, as cobra so aptly puts it, will revitalize the pathetic, weak sorry state of the GOP.
Also, Re-reading Alinky’s Rules for Radicals, and informing yourself with their tactics, as Hillbuzz is already doing, will greatly help us proceed accordingly.
December 30, 2009 at 1:32 pm
I have said it before. Bears saying again: HAVE YOU PRESENTED YOURSELVES TO THE DUMB ASS REPUBLICAN MOB BOSSES??? You are too clever, possess too much shrewdness about human beings and the political machinations of the criminal elements in our government and are too much of an asset to just be writing about this. How about a speaking tour??? Something to get your voices heard by the brain dead and clueless in America? How about a you-tube series? Can you write for other web-sites as guest columnists? You have a twist to your sensibilities about how the left wing works because you have been there, done that, and are surrounded by it. Believe it or not there are still people who think the media wouldn’t lie to them. Ran across one the other day in Walgreen’s and wanted to lambaste her with the 2 liter bottle of Pepsi on sale. Took everything in my power not to jump her in the aisle and start the hair pull from hell. And she’s almost 60 and stood there blinking in disbelief. My words meant nothing because I am viewed as someone with an axe to grind and who comes from a particular point of view and therefore bends and shades to conform to the view. That the media would do likewise is something that never occurred to this person. We need to hear your voices, your humor, you stories. We need to see your humanity, your deep love for America, we need you to speak. NOW, gentlemen.
December 30, 2009 at 1:45 pm
I completely agree!!
That u tube is awesome AND it is way beyond local!!!
It can hit everyone every where and then come down to mayor of Podunk and help him too.
A picture is still worth a thousand words guys… please GO FOR IT>>
i have about 100-150 in my reg email and could have 500 if i need to– multiply that by ????? AWSOME!!!
December 30, 2009 at 1:34 pm
Send as much information about the tactics used to rig Iowa and game the election to as many people as you can in Republican leadership at all levels!
December 30, 2009 at 1:36 pm
You guys are RIGHT! If only these good Romney supporters and these blind Gingrich supporters and these naive Jindal Supporters and these crazy Ron Paul supporters could see what you guys see.
“Looking presidential”(Kerry-Dole-Romney) is not enough to win elections.
The MSM and even Larry King will fight to have this kind of GOP men in the spotlight.
Crazy Catchy lines like “Huckabee surges as the GOP leader” or “Romney seems to be the man” or “Jindal still a player” might even come in 2011.
December 30, 2009 at 1:39 pm
Good news are: Sarah Palin has been there and done that. She has proven she can overcome the media, a sitting governor, smears and get tons of money and support. She will be the NOMINEE.
December 30, 2009 at 2:20 pm
That is the logical choice, but we can’t sit back and expect the logical course to be taken. Washington and the criminals they have running elections in the states have already proven to be anything but logical.
December 30, 2009 at 3:24 pm
Yes, but so did Hillary. We all thought she would be the Dems nominee and how’d that work out?
No. We can’t assume anything. These guys play dirty. The best thing we can hit them with is the TRUTH. The gaming of the caucuses needs to be exposed. Voter registrations need to be tightened (IOW voters must PROVE who they are and that they are indeed eligible to vote IN THEIR DISTRICT).
Mostly I think people need to be informed about what has gone on and still IS going on. We need to network. The Hillboyz idea of multiple blogs and commenters coming forward is a very good strategy. Some people choose to be uninformed. We can’t allow that.
December 30, 2009 at 1:40 pm
In one of his recent columns, Dan Savage openly encouraged Levi Johnston to start doing gay porn, to really embarass the Palins.
Before that,he’d made a video offering himself as Sarah Palin’s gay best friend, the assumption being that she has no gay friends. Maybe you could make a counter-video to the effect that Sarah has way better choices for a gay best friend than Savage.
I keep wondering if you guys couldn’t become some sort of anti-Dan Savages: have you thought of pitching your blog to alternative magazines? Savage has degenerated from a once funny guy who wrote about sex to a boring but tendentious moron who talks nothing but liberal politics for dummies.
The reason I think it’s important is that the MSM treats him seriously. Savage has been mentioned respectfully at least twice in the Economist, and in February 2006 actually managed to get the Economist’s editor to write him a simpering letter desperately assuring him that the Economist is very liberal on a whole bunch of issues.
December 30, 2009 at 1:42 pm
On Jan. 20, 2009 Obama made sure his campaign funds for the 2012 re-election were signed. sealed and delivered with the stimulus bill. Stimulus money has a very short life span, people soon forget what it was used for. If he had used all 800 billion in January every one would have forgotten what it was used for by 2010, thus the greater amount of funds being used will not be available until 2010, just in time for the election, so Democrats can claim all the wonderful programs that they have created. The remaining funds will be released in 2011 when he begins his re-election campaign. Our tax dollars are being used as his campaign funds.
We are running out of time.
Somewhere, someplace there is a qualified person who will be able to defeat this man and Sarah is looking better everyday. This is America, we can do it!!
December 30, 2009 at 1:59 pm
I’d also recommend that we look into some kind of security measures for these things. Sunlight is the best disinfectant… and these people won’t be able to get away with things using their typical M.O. like they were in the past since we’re aware of their tactics and we can and will find ways to keep a light on them.
December 30, 2009 at 2:13 pm
Yes, Mary Beth, you are on to something: Bring the rotting corpse out into the sunlight. Shout the evil from the rooftops. Do not let the LSM brown shirts keep the lid on Dr. Utopia’s evil.
December 30, 2009 at 2:10 pm
I’d like to see you guys interviewed on Rush (the radio guy, not the street in Chicago), Hannity, Greta, etc. You guys have such an interesting and absolutely entertaining perspective and writing ability. (Entertainment is not to be underestimated in this culture! It is a very powerful tool.)
How do we make this happen? How do we get you guys “out there” to be seen?
I have a vision of you guys being embraced by conservative evangelical Christians and other rightwingers–neither of your groups completely understanding the other, but having a helluva lot of fun defeating the enemy: Dr. Utopia and his merry band of socialists.
People like you are key. What can I do to help?
December 30, 2009 at 2:16 pm
I agree with this. I think your perspective, given a more visible platform, would be an incredible help in this effort.
December 30, 2009 at 8:34 pm
Ditto.
December 30, 2009 at 2:13 pm
You’re right. The MSM is pushing Pawlenty for 2012, but are struggling to stay awake because he is so boring. Did you see that latest Newsweak article/interview with Pawlenty written by Evan Thomas? The first 3-4 questions were an effort to elicit an inter-party brawl by throwing in Pawlenty’s face that Palin is more respected by the base than Pawlenty.
So I had to ask myself, would Evan Thomas give a rat’s ass about Pawlenty if Palin was not the star she is? Nope.
Oh, and I’m from Chicago.. Englewood. Yeah, I know… Thanks for your condolences. Yeah, look for the population of Iowa to increase by 20% during the 2012 caucus. Throw in the fact that in the state of Illinois, the number of dead people voting is catching up to that of the number of live ones.
I predicted last year that the media and Obama would be intertwined throughout his term. They helped get him elected, so in effect, they became his protectors. Unfortunately, as his ratings plummet, so does the MSM’s ratings. In any light, if Obama keeps up his ass-hattery, he and the legacy media will be laughed out of town.

I do not think that the Republicans will support Sarah for the 2012 Gop presidential nomination. Even though I would vote for her, I do not think that they would do it. They would buy into the MSM’s narrative of her and not even dare to select her. I still think that the best bet to beat Obama is for Hillary to run in 2012. I know that she said that she would not-but why wouldn’t she run? Hillary would beat him in the primaries because she did it in 2008.
The bottom line is that we have to get Obama out of office to save our wonderful country.
December 30, 2009 at 4:06 pm
Sarah Palin: She was seen from the very beginning as a rising star — a cultural awakener similar to Andrew Jackson — bringing a whole new cultural paradigm to the political process; a new heartland spirit of individualism and self reliance as per Emerson and Barry Goldwater. The widespread, deep and immediate hysteria in the MSM was a sure indication that she was a threat to the old temple and would be a vital new force in the rising century. This week the non-partisan Research 2000, which conducts research and focus groups, states simply, “Palin will be the 2012 GOP Nominee.”

“Apocalypse Now: Sarah Palin’s “Going Rogue” Number 3 Bestseller in Bay Area…”
http://www.weaselzippers.net/blog/2009/12/apocalypse-now-sarah-palins-going-rogue-number-3-bestseller-in-bay-area.html
In the Bay Area?!
Is the country waking up?
December 30, 2009 at 8:30 pm
I would imagine a feminist or two in the area went into Barnes and Nobles/Borders in the area. They saw the book/sales display and chuckled to themselves “what an unqualified idiot she is”. They then picked up the book and thumbed through it… “Hmmm five kids huh?. Ran a small business…, not chained to a stove…, husband is smoking hot and is not some typical smug suit… He is rugged and stays at home with the kids while the wife runs the town, then the state… Kid in Afghanistan…, daughter knocked up and trying to make the best of it… Her life reflects half of the women in the neighborhood I grew up in. No need to choose between a family/husband and self reliance and independence! You can have both!… Come to think of it, everyone admits she and Hillary got treated in a way no male candidate EVER would; AND YET N0 ONE HAS A PROBLEM WITH IT!?!?!?”
Her story is far more compelling than one where a nebulous figure suddenly appears out of the most corrupt political machine in the country, has no history (he has one but no one will dig into it), knows all, calms the waters,…. and has never put his own skin the game or so much as ran a lemonade stand.
December 30, 2009 at 2:39 pm
Republicans need to start looking for an articulate, artful, highly intelligent and physically attractive candidate who has a strong sense of who he is. It’s only that kind of person with confidence in who he is who can not become ruffled and put off by the MSM and Acorn and the WH attempts to smear and demean him.
Start thinking everybody. I thought it was Ensign until he got into trouble. How about governors? I like Cantor, but being Jewish might be a big problem in the south and midwest. It needs to be someone entirely comfortable with speaking in front of large, unruly crowds and someone who knows how to fight and isn’t afraid to get down and dirty when confronted with same.
We only need one, so let’s start thinking.
December 30, 2009 at 2:49 pm
We have identified her – her name is Sarah Palin!
Why do you assume that the next Republican candidate has to be of the male gender? I, for one, am sick and tired of what the Republican party thinks is a good candidate. It’s Sarah or nothing for me.
December 30, 2009 at 5:00 pm
I am not a Sarah-or-nothing person, but SJ in VA is right. Sarah Palin is the best candidate. She has star power. She is an outsider. She sticks to her principles. She is good looking. She is down-to-earth and practical. She is ethical. . . . The list goes on.
December 30, 2009 at 5:51 pm
I am in agreement with you about Sarah but for one reason: the country just is not ready for a woman president yet. I’d like it to be otherwise, but I don’t run from reality.
She needs to be a highly visible cabinet member or Senator and perform on a world stage first. When people see her act as I suspect she will act with decisiveness, good judgment and sophistication, and gets more experience under her belt (yeah, I know, I know, Obama had less experience than she, but look where that’s gotten us….no, I’m in no way comparing Sarah to that jerk) I think a majority of the voting public will welcome her with open arms and she’ll be a great president. I look forward to that day. I just don’t think she’s a sure enough bet this time around and frankly, there is so much at stake that we can’t take a chance on alienating enough voters to allow the Dems to win.
December 30, 2009 at 7:17 pm
You have forgotten that many people have only just received their very own copy of Going Rogue and may not have had time to even read their book, yet. (I know, I gave 4 as presents.) So like a good stew which must simmer, we need to give people time to read their book, digest her side of things and then draw their own conclusions about Sarah and her readiness to be president. I think they will view Sarah in a very different light from the picture painted by the MSM. Then, when she speaks, they will be listening from a different perspective.
December 30, 2009 at 2:47 pm
Correcton: Senator Cantor.

December 30, 2009 at 3:10 pm
Guys-you have the answer here right here on your web-site. Scott P. Brown. This Democrat in sufferage former Hillary supporter would vote for him in a heartbeat. He has all the credentials. I looked him up due to you he won Public Servant of the Year. Love it. He would win too.

Boyz…I fear there is being groomed a Sixth (omeninous number there) Horseman of the GOP Acopalypse…Rick Santorum.
Yes. Even here in PA…there are rumblings. Though he has been a ‘semi-regular’ on Fox…that pesky Kathleen Parker puff peice of a few weeks back haunts me. Well…haunts is strong word…more like ‘iritates like a blister caused by a pair of shoes (Santorum) you thought you really liked…then found out they hurt like hell (when they supported Arlen Specter)…but I digress.
Santorum is (hauntingly) floating up trials (Parker being one) in ghostly fashion.
Here is the Parker ‘marshmallow:’

I agree on Paul Ryan. I’ve watched him for awhile and he seems to have the whole package.
Name recognition? He’ll need to hustle to get lots of face time and I don’t see the media as helping much with that.
Still, it’s hopeful that he’s not a name the liberals have trashed like most other Repubs.
December 30, 2009 at 4:24 pm
HB- The DIRECT ans. to your ques. “to stop the dims from DICTATING who our candidates are to be” is GOP MUST have CLOSED PRIMARIES as the FIRST step. The previous excellent ideas will not happen w/o primaries to place OUR slates in the fray. My mantra for a long time. Tnx.
December 30, 2009 at 4:33 pm
Oops, hit wrong key; wanted to add: 2012 Palin POTUS, 2010/2012 Bachmann Speaker of the House. Other GOP need not apply!
December 30, 2009 at 4:52 pm
Two Words, Papa, almost as frightening as ObamaCare…RomneyCare.
What Romney did to Mass. is being ‘heralded’ (even though it is in the red and an abysmal failure) as the ‘proof’ that the Country NEEDS socialized medicine.
Up is down; ice is hot; and look for ‘anti-Mormonism’ to be an appendage to ‘RAAACIST.’
The lamestream WANTS Mitt…like they wanted McCain.
December 30, 2009 at 6:52 pm
Hear ya Mary! hope all see MY light at the end of the tunnel: it’s a locomotive coming this way and her name is Sarah, you betcha!
December 30, 2009 at 7:34 pm
Pfft. Pretty sure the LSM had zero problem with anti-Mormonism in the form of Huckabee tanking Romney’s presidential bid, or in the form of Prop 8 protesters sending envelopes full of white powder to Mormon temples.
The thing is, despite the multiple grievances we Mormons could stick into the public eye while shouting about restitution, it’s never been our way. While there are some Mormons, sure, who will support a Mormon candidate no matter what, I think that most of us will will take umbrage at being classified as hapless victims by an institution that has repeatedly and reliably aided and abetted the perpetrators. It’s like, if you’ll forgive the Harry Potter reference, when in Half-Blood Prince the Ministry of Magic wanted to buddy up to Harry without so much as an apology — not even a private one — not for the purpose of setting things right, but to try to salvage their own trashed reputation.
Honestly, those books are mighty timely.

Angelaisms…please my post was not a slight or a criticism of LDS/Mormons. No…I fear, in the manipulative world of the Pressitutes, any criticism of Romney will be construed by THEM as ‘anti-Mormon’ bigotry; the same way any criticism of Dear Leader is met with cries of ‘thats RAAACIST!’
All smoke, mirrors, and playing on good people wanting to be ‘good’ nonjudgmental people.
Huckabee was wrong to play against Mormonism like that…the same way Uptopians are wrong to tie all issues to melin.
So sorry, did NOT mean to offend!

No, I didn’t think you were offensive at all!! The offensive idea to me was the LSM trying to cozy up to us after, well, the rampant anti-Mormonism that’s happened in just the last two years that they’ve either let pass by without comment or even encouraged.
In fact, I completely agree with you that I could see them try it — my counterpoint is that I don’t think most Mormons will buy it. If we were a lockstep voting bloc like most groups championed by liberals, we’d all be cheering Harry Reid rather than the most common reaction of us being embarrassed by him.
Seriously, no offense was taken at all. I think Mitt Romney has done some wonderful things in the public eye, but he’s raised some serious eyebrows too. I have no doubt that he’s a good man. But he’s not the central rallying point we need. I do think that Palin announcing her intent to put him in as Sec. of the Treasury would solidify her base incredibly, though.

Hi Boyz -
I am a conservative independent voter. I have no faith in the Republican Party, but I do have faith in God & pray daily for our country. There are millions of people waking up to the horrors of this administration. I think the problem will be to unite them behind a strong candidate.
J.B. Williams has started Freedom Force to begin to unite Patriots & raise money now for 2012. Check out the website: http://www.FreedomForce.us
Also check out TeaPartyNewsWatch.com for updates on all activities including precincts. They are making real progress in Nevada by taking over the local precincts.
(Sorry, I don’t know how to make live links.)

There are two things that need doing:
1. elminate caucuses
2. hold closed primaries
Now, getting the RNC to actually go with that agenda, that’s another story.

I hope this keeps going. I have a lot of time, although not a lot of money. I’m downstate Illinois in a county that already goes Republican and there’s nothing to worry about at my precinct, so I’m really wanting to get involved helping elsewhere after I do my local voting. Or whatever.
I guess the first place I’ll start is the local tea party and 912 project groups that are started up.

Great post!
I think you give the media too much credit. You really think MSNBC and CNN can influence an election? They couldn’t stop Bush in 2004 or 2000. It was actually FOX of all people who almost did in 2000 with the DUI story.
The Obama loving media were so powerful in 2008 that as of the middle of September their self-anninted Messiah was on the verge of losing an unlosable election. On the verge of being the victim of the greatest upset in political history. Fortunately for him Lehman collapsed and dozens of other companies soon followed sending the market to its worst crash since the Depression. The economic meltdown rescues him from an almost certain defeat.
Heck even with all their anti-Hillary actions she still walloped Obama in OH, TX, PA, CA, NJ, NY, pretty much every big state. She beat him in NH when they were ready to fellate him en masse during his victory speech.
No Republicans or conservatives watch the networks or MSNBC or CNN. How will the MSM be able to push Romney in 2012 against a real conservative who the base actually likes in Palin when the entire conservative establishment(beltway, money men, National Review/intellectuals, social conservatives, etc…) got behind him in 2007 and couldn’t carry him past a former loser in McCain who was and still is despised by most conservatives and Republicans and made his career by telling conservatives and the party to go f themselves?
If Romney with all the establishment backing in 2007/8 couldn’t beat McCain and even worse couldn’t even beat out Mike Huckabee in Iowa despite outspending him by more than 10-1, I wouldn’t be all that worried about him. He tried to make the sale and it wouldn’t take.
I don’t see much changing for a Mormon with his moderate record, especially in heavily conservative Iowa(60% evangelical) and in South Carolina, the 2 states where the nomination will be decided.
Pawlenty simply doesn’t have the name ID or recognition and the GOP doesn’t pick guys no one’s ever heard of. Look at the past: McCain, W, Dole, Bush, Reagan, Ford, Nixon, etc… all long time party guys with high national profiles and many(McCain, W, Reagan)with some extra special quality or star power to them. If Sarah Palin is a rock star, Tim Pawlenty is some guy doing an open mic at local coffe house with 2 or 3 guys watching. Just not his time. If he gets well known this cycle, perhaps 2016. But the GOP doesn’t pick guys who come from nowhere.
Neither do the dems, really. Even Obama was a huge star before he ran.(Pawlenty is like a GOP Bill Richardson, only even less known). Clinton is the only exception and he was sort of a fluke in that none of the dem stars of the time ran because they all though Bush was unbeatable after the Gulf War.
Also, the MSM will know much money the stand to make from a Palin/Utopia campaign(way, way more than any other combo) and they’ll want her simply from a financial standpoint.
2010 will be all about laying the groundwork for her with the Party(and trying to corner the Tea Party market). It’ll be about supporting various candidates nationwide and getting to know the local party folks and the candidates, who will no doubt owe favors should they win. Like Brando in The Godfather “Someday, and this day may never come, I may ask a favor of you…”. It’ll be like how Nixon set the stage in 1966 for 1968. She’ll be seen as a a key figure in a conservative resurgence with the midterms, or at least that’s the plan.
That’s followed by book #2 which dominates the charts following the big GOP win, over the holidays and through the new year. Maybe another book tour.
Then she announces on Reagan’s 100th birthday, Feb 6th, 2011. It all fits.

Primaries should be closed affairs run and financed by each party, not by the states. They could even be conducted at conventions with only dues-paying members participating. Those that are serious will pay dues and show up. This is done for nominations of persons to run for state offices in many states. Why not for the party’s presidential and Veep candidate? Why should any old person on the street be able to vote in a GOP or Dem primary? What business is it of theirs if they don’t care enough to join a party? Yes, this means the unaffiliated masses are stuck with the general election candidates chosen by the closed parties. Oh, well.

Excellent post and analysis. And spot on. The bottom line is that there is no one right now who fits the bill, who is “right” for the job, as it were. Fringe media or no, we don’t even have a potential candidate who can win over all conservatives, let alone indies and mod dems. *sigh*
