If you are looking for work, go apply for a job with the US Census.
We’ve heard they are paying $18.25 an hour in some places, for up to 40 hours a week of work. These are temp jobs, obviously, and will finish some time in 2010, but that’s really good money while you are looking for permanent work.
In Chicago, Census jobs are being advertised with the following information. We think this works for the whole country:

If anyone applies and gets hired, or has other information, let us know in comments. It seems like a good way to make some extra money, or to float you until you find a permanent gig…and we bet the people you meet through this would be interesting.
Also, we think it would be good to have conservatives, moderates, and independents in the mix…and not just the Liberal leftists this White House is trying to stock the Census Team with.

I applied approx one year ago. Never heard a word yet they continue to take applications in this area. I think they are targeting minorities for employees – take a look at the 1000′s of minority organizations the Census has partnered with. They do have a test you need to take and can find a sample online. I’m sure I passed with flying colors, however, they give extra points to veterans, widows of veterans, etc. I honestly don’t think I would work for them if they called now due to the fact that I don’t think I will even provide any more information than the age and number of people in my household. I don’t want Acorn or union thugs having a look-see of any of my personal information.

P.U.M.A.s need to fill those jobs (so ACORN workers do not).
Also the applicants need to observe closely and compare who gets employed with who does not get employed so any patterns of “discrimination” for Obama’s allies and against everyone else can be reported!

I *know* they are targeting “nationalities” ;-) that allow them access to “diverse populations” that “reflect a community’s make up” with knowledge of how to reach out to “underrepresented populations.” These are not direct quotations of a policy, but of behind the scenes PC bureaucratese. Therefore, apply! Patriots need to fill the ranks!
PLUS, these jobs are keeping the unemployment from crashing even further — wonder what the numbers would be without them + seasonal hires.

If you’re white and middle class, whether upper or lower, and you don’t get the job, say in VERY loud but even tones: “Is there a problem with my being white?”
I’ve done this before in a different but related situation, and it WORKS! People freak and immediately move to mollify you.

P.S. It helps to open your eyes very wide and turn your head slightly to the right. For some reason, it implies the RAAAAAAACISM that actually is happening to you.
