Caucus and Primaries Project for 2012

Posted at November 17, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Here’s something we want your help with, that is a long-range project that’s going to take a lot of effort, a lot of research, plenty of writing, and most likely just about all of the free time we have left.

But, we have been working behind the scenes for some time on a side project that will ultimately turn into a book of our own on the 2008 campaign, specifically focused on the vile things Dr. Utopia’s supporters did to us personally, and things we witnessed on the road for Hillary Clinton in 27 states last year.

The book started out as a travelogue for the presidential campaign, but has turned into much more than that — really, what it’s become, unintentionally, is a guidebook of what to look for, what to expect, and what we need to prevent in 2012 when the Republican nomination contests start.

We are currently working under the assumption that Dr. Utopia will run unopposed for the Dems’ nomination, so our focus is going to be on how to prevent Liberals, Leftists, and the White House (which, really, is redundant to even list after those first two) from gaming the Republican nomination and picking one of the Five Horseman of the GOP Apocalypse as the 2012 nominee:  namely Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Tim Pawlenty, Charlie Crist, or John Huntsman.

In 2007, when we first started campaigning for Hillary Clinton, we had never worked on campaigns before.  We had no idea what to expect.  We collected petition signatures for Clinton around Chicago and witnessed the nastiness of the Utopia campaign and its supporters on the ground here.  That’s the first time these thugs called us RAAACISTS for supporting a candidate other than ‘The One”.  By the time we started going to Iowa to canvass and campaign for Clinton there, we were starting to see clearly that the Utopia campaign had been organized since 2004 with every dirty Alinsky trick ready to go.

We were always playing catch-up on the Clinton campaign because Hillary Clinton, God love her, played fair and is a decent human being the likes of which we all should every day be thankful for, because she is the only responsible adult at the table in this administration.

Seriously.

And for those of you new to this site, check the banner above and the domain name.  This is HillBuzz.  We started as a site to rally Clinton’s supporters during the primary campaign, and we have kept going to continue that support for Clinton in all she does — but also to make sure what was done to our champ Hillary is never done to another candidate, particularly a woman, by the Leftists and the MSM again.

There have been many times when we’ve wanted to walk away from the Internet, to stop writing 10,000+ words a day on here, but there’s a weird energy that drives us…because we reach thousands of people a day on this site, and if we could convince just a small percentage of you to do something every day to stop ACORN, the SEIU, and the Utopia campaign from committing massive fraud and voter intimidation in the future, we can partly avenge what happened to our champ in 2008.

Sometimes, late at night, we are literally haunted by what we personally witnessed in Dubuque, Iowa in 2008 on Caucus Day.  That’s where we were stationed.  The Caucus site was run by Dr. Utopia’s people.  How they did that is beyond us, but everyone running check-in, everyone standing by the doors wore Utopia buttons, shirts, hats, etc.  They would walk outside and pull Clinton signs out of the ground and throw them away, leaving the Edwards and Utopia signs.  Old people excited to FINALLY, after all these years have a chance to vote for Hillary Clinton for something were turned away at the doors and told they were at the wrong caucus site.  And, old people being old people, they would shuffle off confused, get back into their cars, and go on wild goose chases believing the people at the door were authority figures without alterior motives.  And then, moments before the caucus started, DOZENS of young Chicagoans poured through the doors and headed straight to the Utopia side of the room.  The parking lot was filled with Illinois license plates.  None of these people checked in, and the Utopia caucus organizers just let them all vote — even though they did not live in Iowa.

We need to make sure as many people out there as possible on the Republican side know what happened during the caucuses and primaries.  Texas, if you can believe it, was even worse.

Michael Steele will be in Chicago on Friday and if have the chance to talk to him again like the last time he was here, we’re going to tell him in person, again, that reforming the caucuses and primaries should be Mission Critical for Republicans…because Democrats are already gearing up to do whatever they can to game the Iowa caucus again.  Chicagoans will once more flood into Iowa to vote…this time probably for Mike Huckabee to ensure someone who can’t win the general election becomes the GOP nominee.

People, we need to come up with a plan to make the state GOP organizations listen and take this threat seriously.  We have three years to do this.  Because the Caucuses and Primaries are party affairs, it’s technically not illegal for Democrats to do the things they did with the Iowa caucus.  It’s wrong, underhanded, and the antithesis of Hope and Change, but none of it was prosecutable because primary and caucus voting is not governed by any federal election laws.

It is up to the parties to ensure fair outcomes.

And it is up to the people on the ground to hold the parties accountable for that.

SOMEONE out there will have a lighting in a bottle, flash of genius moment an come up with a way to make sure 2008 is never repeated, not ever again.  Maybe it will be us on this site — we doubt that, but maybe.  We, currently, have no idea how to stop Dr. Utopia in 2012 because now he’s got the White House and full use of the MSM at his disposal, in addition to ACORN, the SEIU, the Black Panthers, and other hired thugs.

Maybe getting all of our stories out there, showing people what Utopia’s campaign was actually like…putting all of this down on paper and distributing it to as many people as possible…maybe that will make people stand up in 2012 and prevent all of this from happening again.

Please offer your thoughts here, because our mission going forward includes but is not limited to:

(1) Dismantling and destroying ACORN, the SEIU, and all of their affiliates

(2) Taking down the Al Sharpton/Henry Gates/Jesse Jackson/Eric Holder Race Industry

(3) Reforming the nominating contests to make the primaries fraud-proof…while eliminating caucuses completely (as they are the easiest to game)

(4) Making sure Democrats do not pick the Republican candidate they want to run against in 2012

(5) Doing whatever we can to put the MSM out of business as payback for their rampant sexism and misogyny

2012 will be here before any of us know it.  There is an awful lot of work to do.  All of the above is so important to us personally that we’re willing to skip days off, willing to postpone vacations, willing to literally give all of our free time to this.

All we ask is for those of you out there to help out too.  Just imagine if we could create a virtual community in the thousands who every day brainstorms, learns from each other, recruits friends and family to help, and mobilizes as a true grassroots army to defeat Dr. Utopia and his band of greedy socialists in 2012.

Nothing like that has ever existed in American politics.

We can make it happen.

We’ll do our part in Boystown here in Chicago, and on this site.

What will you do in your hometown?

If you are going to Palin book signings, be sure to make friends with the people in line, get their emails, and start Sarah Palin Support Clubs in your communities

Posted at November 17, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

We would love it if all the Palin supporters who read this would share this idea with all the Palin forums you go on.  It’s something we wish we had thought to do for Hillary Clinton back in 2003 when she did her Living History book tour.  It would have given us a major ground support advantage in 2008 that we didn’t have.

If you are going to a Palin book signing, don’t just stand there in line quiet by yourself or talking to whomever you came with.  Introduce yourself to the other people in line.  If you are all waiting in the cold for a store to open to have a chance to maybe see Palin for a few seconds, you are a committed supporter of hers….and in those lines you will be surrounded by hundreds if not thousands like you.

Get all their emails.

Friend them on Facebook.

Make sure they know about awesome sites like Conservatives4Palin.com that keep the truth about Palin and what she is up to out there.

Network, people, network.

You might spend a few hours in line at that signing.  That’s a few hours you could be meeting other Palin supporters near you, and over the next few years friendships could blossom that will give Sarah Palin an unprecedented ground team for 2012 — if and when she needs it.  The worst that can come of the effort is that you make a heap of new friends who also like Sarah.

Not everyone is clued into the Sarahverse online.  Not everyone knows there are people already working hard to organize for her should she run in 2012.

These book signings are a chance for people to come together organically and start to seed the grassroots efforts for 2012.

Let’s make the most of them.

Learn from everything that Dr. Utopia did to Hillary Clinton in 2008, and everything we Clinton people would do differently if we had the chance to replay the last several years.

Her first national campaign bus of her own; UPDATE: Palin on Limbaugh delivers more substantive policy in 30 minutes than Obama has in 11 months

Posted at November 17, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Check it out: a thing of beauty.

Sarah Palin’s first national campaign bus of her own. For some reason, the child of the 80s in us can’t help but running the old Transformers cartoon theme through our head. “More than meets the eye”.

Ostensibly, this bus is to promote Palin’s book, Going Rogue.

But, Transformers-style, there’s a point in the future where that bus could transform from book-tour mobile to presidential campaign coach.

In other news, today’s the day all of us here get our copies of Going Rogue.

We plan to read them all around Chicago, in coffee houses, at the gym, on the trains. Even when we are done with the books, we plan on taking the paper covers and putting them on the next books we are reading, so that we can carry around Going Rogue’s artwork all over town…so as many people see it being read out in public as possible.

We’ll keep track of the responses we get and report them back here. There’s a very good chance people will be Obot, Kool-Aid soaked hatemongers and say vile things about Palin to us. That’s what they do when we wear Palin tee shirts. For people so keen on Hope!, Change!, and Unicorns!, Dr. Utopia’s supporters sure are filled with plenty of hate.

Why is that?

Why does Sarah Palin rattle them so?

Remember, this woman is supposed to be so stupid, according to them, that she can’t even read a book let alone write one (especially since she’s never met William Ayers, so she couldn’t ask him to write the book for her).

Also, Dr. Utopia’s supporters keep telling us how everyone hates Palin, how she has no future in politics, how she’s a waste of space who should get off the stage.

So, why do these people wake up each morning as William Shatner staring into the bathroom mirror shouting SAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAH! in Wrath of Khan mode?

Why does she unnerve them so?

What are they going to do when they get a look at this bus?

******

UPDATE:  Palin was on Rush Limbaugh today, so share your thoughts on this thread too.  Someone will link to a transcript and audio feed for this at some point as well.  Apparently, Palin put forward more substantive policy points in 30 minutes than our current president has in 11 months.  Go, Sarah, Go!

Tuesday Open Thread: November 17th, 2009

Posted at November 17, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

What’s on your mind this Tuesday?

We’re still so ashamed our current president bowed and groveled before the Emperor of Japan.  H/t to Michelle Malkin for spotting a cartoon in Investors Business Daily that sums it all up so perfectly:

******
ABC late night news is reporting that Levi Johnston, the father of Sarah Palin’s first grandson, has now not only officially changed his name to “Ricky Hollywood” for all media purposes, but has also backed out of the full-frontal Playgirl deal because, in his own words, “My weiner is just too small. They tried and tried and tried to shoot it from different angles, like from below and with these big lenses, but there ain’t nothing nobody can do for me. It’s just that little. Man, Playgirl is mad too, ’cause now they got no weiners for that week and they’re gonna need to go find some more somewhere to put that online. Maybe there’s some other dude with a normal sized weiner who wants to humiliate himself in order to strike out at people who have been good to him who can step up and show his non-tiny, non-embarrassing weiner to everyone.”

It’s pretty sad that if you’re posing for Playgirl you are so ashamed of your junk that you need to back out of the deal once you see the first round of pictures and realize that even Industrial Light and Magic can’t make your manhood look non-hilarity inducing.

We almost feel sorry for Ricky Hollywood.

ALMOST

UPDATE: Playgirl released a teaser shot of Levi shirtless and in a shower…we’ve seen it, by way of HuffPo, but won’t link to it here to give them any more traffic.  We will tell you that it’s nothing impressive.  Supposedly he was working out 6 days a week at the gym, where it looks like he spent all of 15 minutes inside said gym, mostly at the juice bar.  He’s over 18, so he’s legal, and this is no aspersion on Playgirl, but we have to say the shot we saw looked like an exploited child.  It’s not sexy at all, but disturbing.  The photo’s in black and white and just screams degradation at the heights of all things pathetic and lost.  This is someone who has no scruples or sense in his head.  He likes riding in limos and being on TV, and so he seemed to think this Playgirl thing would be good for him.  It’s like when guys here in Boystown have too much to drink and take their shirts off in bars thinking they are big studs, only they’re rocking muffin tops and the beginnings of man breasts.  Sure, there are some other drunks who cheer them on, while the rest of the bar laughs at how pathetic and delusional these guys are.

That’s what Levi looks like in that photo.  If the rest of the shoot is like that, Playgirl is going to have a lot of disappointed people wanting refunds.  We’re sure Levi himself will want to take all of this back at some point too — but that’s never going to happen.  He sure seems like he’s headed towards a collision course with an E True Hollywood Story.

******
Here’s a great piece lambasting Newsweek for running that Runner’s World photo of Sarah Palin on its cover, as well as an interesting bit tying back to the misogyny and sexism directed at Hillary Clinton during the 2008 campaign.

It reminds us of one group of people we have not sufficiently gone after around here: the women who didn’t support the first viable female candidate for a presidential nomination. These SAME women are now the ones attacking Sarah Palin, many of them contributing to the attack book “Going Rouge”.

Geraldine Ferraro said during the campaign that there is a special place in Hell for women who attack other women, when they try to pull other women down out of jealousy, or for whatever other reason they do this.

All of the women who sided with Dr. Utopia against Hillary Clinton took really stupid right now. What has Dr. Utopia done for them? How did electing Mr. Hope and Change and Unicorns increase opportunities for women or better women’s lives?

Having a female president will do that. It will sure be pretty hard to limit women in business and all areas of life when a woman sits in the Oval Office with a thoroughly smashed glass ceiling.

That special place in Hell for these “feminists” needs a time share here on Earth as far as we’re concerned.

Looks like we might have a new mission around here — one that can help Hillary and Sarah both in the future. Who are these women who contributed to “Going Rouge”? What did they say about Hillary in 2008? Why are they still respected in their fields if all they ever do is tear down the women who could actually shatter that glass ceiling?

******
Going Rogue drops in bookstores today. We will be picking up a copy and reading it as fast as we can — can’t wait. Our goal is to do a little study guide/book club thing as we read it, writing our thoughts on the book chapter by chapter. We hope to have the first chapter, at least, outlined and discussed some time today. In the mean time, use this thread to talk about the book as you read it too.

Palin’s on Good Morning America with Barbara Walters this morning…should be interesting to watch. We won’t be near a TV at that time, so if you are please post your thoughts here. We appreciate it! Go, Sarah, Go!

******
Our friend Murphy over at PUMAPac.org raises an interesting point. Dr. Utopia has been in Asia on his “Lookit Me, I’m the First Pacific President Tour”, embarrassing himself and the country, bowing to Emperors and doing we-don’t-want-to-know-what in those infamous Japanese saunas (and if you’d lived in Andersonville here in Chicago in the mid to late 90s, you might have gotten to see more than you ever wanted to of Dr. Utopia at Man’s Country…when a state senator did much, much more than bow in places like that).

Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan were both “Pacific Presidents” too, spending the majority of their lives in California, a Pacific state, where they are both now buried.

For that matter, another Pacific President was William Howard Taft, who was the Governor of the Phillipines and lived there for many years. George H. W. Bush also lived in Asia for quite a while. John F. Kennedy spent a good deal of time in the Pacific himself, during WWII. Even Jimmy Carter has “Pacific” cred, having served on a Pacific-based attack sub in the Navy.

Newsweek recycles old fitness photo to subtlely attack Sarah Palin

Posted at November 16, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

H/t to our friends at Frugal Cafe for the corrections to this Newsweek cover

Here’s an interesting read from David Brody on a point we have not seen mentioned elsewhwere.  This week, we were so thrilled to see Time use a decent photo of Hillary Clinton on its cover that we didn’t stop to look at the photo Newsweek (or is that Newsweak?) used of Sarah Palin for the “How Do You Solve A Problem Like Sarah?” issue.

For starters, Sarah Palin’s not a problem.  If she wants it, the woman’s the 45th President of the United States, barring any decision by Hillary Clinton to take that title for herself.

Newsweek lifted a photo taken of Palin, an avid runner, for the fitness magazine Runners World — on whose cover the photo was appropriate — and used it in a political magazine — on whose cover it is not appropriate — to subtlely belittle Palin.  As Brody notes, it’s the rare feat of being biased and sexist at the same time.

We want to speak directly to conservatives for a minute here:  do not allow the Leftist media, which is acting on orders from the White House itself, to convince you Sarah Palin is not your candidate in 2012.  They are going to do everything they can think of for the next three years to tell you “Palin is too polarizing”, “Palin’s looks are an issue”, “Palin is crazy”, “Palin is unqualified”, etc.

You realize the same nonsense has been done to Hillary Clinton for the last twenty years, especially that polarizing part.  For Clinton, being older than Palin, she never endured the “too pretty to be taken seriously” attacks Palin gets (instead, Hillary has always been insulted over her weight, her body type, and her facial expressions).

The MSM will continue to tear up female candidates for office because unlike attacks on black people because of their skin color, attacks on politicians because of their gender are not only accepted, but encouraged.  ”Heh, heh, heh, that cover’s a good one.  Way to hit that Palin, we just hate her so much,” somewhere the collective MSM Sausagefest seems to be saying.

Americans, please stop buying Newsweek.

Stop buying TIME while you are at it, even if the cover of Clinton is decent this week.

Republicans, please start calling out misogyny and sexism wherever you see it because — even when it’s happening to Hillary Clinton or someone else you don’t typically support.

You know why?

51% of the population is female.

Democrats take women for granted, in the Camille Paglia/Gloria Steinem mindset that thinking women all have to agree with the Liberal cause and default vote Dem.

Well, let us assure you, many women have strong FEELINGS while doing their thinking…and if the Republican party became the party that’s known for standing up for women and shouting sexism and misogyny down, women will start to rethink their loyalty to Democrats in 2010 and 2012.

Just like with the LGBTQ community, cultural voting traditions are so deep for some people that you might not ever get them to vote GOP, but you might get people — people like us here are HillBuzz — to become so disgusted with how the Democrat Party operates that we move away from our dyed in the wool labels and start seeing us as Independents.

Sexism and misogyny in the media is a wedge that could drive enough female voters to Independent status to cost Dems Congress next year and the White House in 2012.

If Palin does indeed decide to run for president as we believe she will, the MSM will ratchet all of this nonsense up 100-fold to destroy her.

We pledge here today that we will continue to do everything we can to stand up for her.

Will you join us?

Will you also stand with us when they pull this stuff on Hillary Clinton?

What about Michelle Bachmann?

What about Martha Coakley, Meg Whitman, Kirsten Gillibrand, Carly Fiorina, Sue Lowden, etc.?

What’s happening is that a whole new generation of female politician is rising to prominence without kissing the ring of Gloria Steinem and the Leftist Feminist Brigade.  That causes immense jealousy.  Urban elitist women don’t like anyone who hasn’t been swimming in the same waters as them, and women like Steinem and Paglia don’t like any woman to be more successful or influential than the two of them think they themselves are.

The only women they like are ones they can say, “Oh, she’d be nothing without me.  I MADE her.  She’s only where she is because I gave her my blessing.”

Those are narcissists in feminists’ clothing.

If an article’s about a female politician setting out to promote a book that she’s written, photos of her dressed in running gear are not appropriate.

Would they run a photo of Mitt Romney in a Speedo or Mike Huckabee wearing his Halloween costume in an article about their thoughts on policy?

No.

But, that’s because Newsweek wants Romney, Huckabee, Charlie Crist, Tim Pawlenty, or John Huntsman to be the GOP nominee in 2012.

They don’t want Sarah.

Because Sarah would win.

So they have to do everything possible to destroy her every day so they can beat her into submission and convince her not even to run.

Sarah, if you’re listening, RUN, GOVERNOR, RUN!

EXCLUSIVE: Photos of Levi "Ricky Hollywood" Johnston's Playgirl photo shoot leaked.

Posted at November 16, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Levi Johnston, the father of Bristol Palin’s adorable baby boy, is now calling himself “Ricky Hollywood” (thank you, Kathy Griffith for that one) in the porn movies he’s apparently doing after the Playgirl photo shoot (“Chi Chi La Rue, I’m ready for my closeup!”).

His first day of exposing himself for all to see took place, with another shoot scheduled this week.

Through less than Six Degrees of Kevin Aucoin, we here in Boystown’s gay community know some of the PAs who worked Johnston’s photo shoot…and managed to snap a few shots on their camera phones that Playgirl and Johnston would never want you to see.

We put them all after the jump below, as some of you might not want to get caught looking at these while at work.  They certainly capture the real Levi, in all his glory, pretty much as expected.

Apparently, they even made a music video during the shoot, too, which everyone on the set insists will become “Ricky Hollywood’s” signature theme song as he embarks on his big career in, aptly enough, HollyWOOD:

Sarah Palin on Oprah: Live Blog

Posted at November 16, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Sarah Palin appears on Oprah November 16th, 2009

Please use this thread to comment on Sarah Palin’s appearance on Oprah today, which we believe is on at 4pm CST (at least it was years ago when Oprah was this relevant).  We all gave up our TVs this summer because we were so sick of the MSM that we didn’t even want Idiot Boxes in Buzzquarters anymore, but we’re at a friend’s house this afternoon watching her TV, and will do our level best, technology permitting, to live blog during the show.  It won’t be a transcript, but a running markup of our thoughts and conversation as we watch.  If it works out, maybe we’ll use the same format for other events in the future. We baked both Hillary cupcakes and our new Sarah cupcakes for the occasion (Hillary cupcakes are orange with pineapple-basil frosting and a smiling Hillary face on top; Sarah cupcakes are gingerbread with white chocolate frosting and a chocolate moose on top).

******

First up:  a word about Nielsen ratings.  Some of you are worried that watching Oprah today will boost her ratings.  What you need to remember is that this is only true if you are a Nielsen family.

Nielsen families are chosen through some top secret process (apparently, squirrels pick their names out of a large round cage somewhere in Pasadena, around the corner from where Nancy Pelosi gets her Botox done). In the mail, they (the people chosen, not the squirrels) receive a letter asking them first if they want to participate.  If they say yes, then the next day or so a package arrives.  Inside the package, there are papers.  On the papers, there is writing.  There’s also a large journal the family has to keep for a week, writing down all the things they watch in each time slot.

One of us here was a Nielsen family back in the 90s for a week.  We believe he was paid $5.00 for doing it, which came in an envelope inside that packet and was the most crisp, sharpest, uncirculated Lincoln he’d ever seen…almost as if it had just come off the printing press).  There was a lot of feel-good hooey in the packet too, talking about what an honor it was to help networks determine what people really watch.

When he filled out that booklet, he made sure to say he and his family watched all the shows he liked or had actors and other people he respected in, whether he watched them for real or not.  Shows with people he didn’t like, such as Janeane Garafalo or any of the Baldwins, he just left off that booklet and instead said he was watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer reruns or something at the time (as sometimes terrible actors and people we don’t like make their way into an otherwise good show…but we’d be damned if we’d give those clowns any ratings points to further fuel their massive egos and penchant for soap box preachings to all us ignorant Midwesterners).

Now, this was probably a decade ago — so who knows if Nielsen still does those paper books.  We imagine all of this is probably done electronically now.

But, the point is, if you have not agreed to be a Nielsen family, it doesn’t matter what you watch or don’t watch because no one is keeping track of you.  Yet.  Give the current administration a second term, and maybe that will change.

For now, the only way the networks know what you are watching is if you tell them by way of those booklets after the squirrels have picked your names.  The ghost of Brandon Tartikoff is not peaking at you through your window to see how much Must See TV irradiation you are getting this week, trust us.

This is funny, because all of us have lived in Chicago now for at least 5 years, but still think things are on the times they used to be on in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Rochester, or San Antonio.  Like we said, the last time any of us had seen Oprah was in 2004, when we were all living elsewhere for the most part.  None of us have a TV Guide ever, and so we just assumed Oprah was on at 4pm here in Chicago like it always was back in our home states.  Apparently, that’s not true.  So we missed the Palin interview completely as it looks like Oprah airs here at the ridiculously early time at 9am.

We have to wait until 11pm, as far as we can tell, to watch the interview.  We’ll do that, and will live blog it when it comes on, but hope the rest of you out there fill up the comments here with your take on things until we get our chance to chime in.

Not having televisions and being totally disconnected from things like Oprah is great 98% of the time.  This is one of the few occasions in recent memory when that didn’t really work in our favor…but we will see the program, only later tonight.

Someone out there, if you know of a way for us to watch this online or in Chicago off non-cable, regular broadcast channels tell us, as we’re eating cupcakes watching back episodes of GLEE on our computers…and if the Oprah thing can’t be worked out we feel like heading out to some bookstores to see if we can find one that broke the street date so we can get Palin’s book early today too.

******

We’re jealous Comedy Central gets to actually watch the Palin interview right now while we in Chicago have to wait until 11pm for it.  For some reason, we got a random shoutout over there for talking about Nielsen ratings and squirrels, which evidently not a lot of people know about.  Squirrels really are very useful critters.  Wish we could say the same for Oprah.

*****

While waiting for Oprah to air here in Chicago, we’re eating cupcakes and looking at the newly-leaked photos of Levi Johnston in Playgirl, which came to us through Six Degrees of Kevin Aucoin here in Boystown.  Don’t get excited, no big surprises here.

******

11:06pm: Waiting for the show to start

11:07pm: My goodness, Oprah looks more terrible than usual.  She’s wearing one of Michael Jackson or James Brown’s old wigs.  How nice for her, that she got those in the wills.

* Palin comes out to strange music.  Oprah gets right into the snub she gave Palin last year.  Palin says she didn’t let Oprah’s actions get to her.  She said, “No offense Oprah, but you weren’t the center of my universe…it’s your show, your baby, you can do what you want”.

* Oprah talks about her decision to only have Dr. Utopia on her show during the election.  She’s wearing a dress that’s bursting at the seams, with one of Mrs. Utopia’s Klingon War Belts.

11:10PM: Oprah asks Palin about being picked VP.  Palin says she got “the call” while at the Alaska State Fair.  Oprah interrupts, rudely, and says, “Whadda he say? You wonder if you were up for THAT job?”.  Palin tells her that she’s been the chief executive of a state, so yes, she was ready.  The McCain campaign evidently had information on Palin going all the way back to high school, knowing every event she’s been to, every sermon she’s ever heard at church, etc.  They knew about Bristol’s pregnancy, which Oprah brought up.

* Palin said one skeleton in her closet was that she had a D in a college course once 22 years ago.  Oprah said, “Girl, weren’t you concerned about the pregnancy?”.  Palin says she wished she could have presented it in a better way that would not seem glamorous regarding teeen pregnancy.  Oprah talks about the press release the McCain campaign sent out, and Palin said that she did not approve the press release…she said the first time she saw the press release it was on TV’s news scroll.  She didn’t want the message to be “we’re happy to be grandparents”, but that we should tackle the issue of teen pregnancy.  Palin said she tried to correct that press release to change the message, but that the McCain campaign just ran what they wanted.  Bristol had to see that released via the news, which embarrassed her and put her into tears.  ”Not just Wasilla, but the whole world now knows what’s going on”.  Palin said her children should have been excluded from the controversy, but that from the get go the press made the kids part of it.  Oprah asked, “Didn’t you know the pregnancy would become an issue?”  Palin said she and McCain talked about how hard being in office is on families…not knowing how intriguing it would be for haters and critics to take glee in going at her.  Palin said she was naive to think the media would leave her kids alone because the MSM left Dr. Utopia’s kids alone —  there was a double standard there.  Oprah tried to defend Dr. Utopia, saying he told the press to layoff the kids…and Palin said that’s not what happened but that she respects him for saying that.  What’s unsaid is that the MSM was working for the Utopia campaign and if he really wanted to, he sure as Hell could have told the press to layoff those kids — he didn’t.

* For people who don’t like Oprah, even in the slightest, we’re trying to be as objective as we can when we say this, but she really and truly does look terrible sitting there.  Like, health-problems terrible.  She’s sweaty, bloated, her wig looks horrible.

11:19PM: Commercial break.  Ads for Steak n’ Shake, Burger King, diabetes medicine, dry cracked skin ointment, adult diapers.  Are these commercials for Oprah’s viewers, or are they geared towards Charybdis herself?

11:21PM: Oprah talks about Going Rogue and the McCain campaign telling Palin who to talk to, how to dress, what to eat and a McCain campaign person telling Palin she had to go on the Atkins diet.  Palin said there were other things to focus on besides her weight.  Oprah talks about being at the Greek Temple Crazy Fest in Denver that was the DNC Convention and seeing Palin for the first time on August 29th.  Oprah said, “Woooo, girl, I saw you and I said to Gayle, girl, wakeup, who that on TV?”  Palin said she walked into the staging area in Ohio and there was a wardrobe ready for her — never thinking it would be a controversy because there was no controversy over Dr. Utopia’s expensive suits.  No other candidate had such double standard criticism.  She also said that the McCain campaign made over the entire family, and they all felt like “did we look that bad that people had to layout all the clothes for us”.  Palin said that she appreciate Hillary Clinton with this too, because there is always an extra standard for a female candidate in that they can’t just wear the same clothes every day.

11:24PM: Oprah’s asking about the debate prep cards Palin was given.  Palin talks about how extensively she was told to stay on script and how the McCain people were trying to control her.  Palin said it was her fault for allowing McCain’s staff to control her as much as she did.  Palin said her people never really found the script she was supposed to be on.  Oprah said, “Why you tried to go to Michigan when they told you not to, girl.”  Palin said her VP team wasn’t even made aware McCain had decided to pull out of Michigan because she and Todd thought they could have done well there.

11:26PM:  Palin talks about the economy tanking being the fatal blast to the campaign…in that the economy tanked under a Republican Administration.  Oprah said, “Oh, I need to take a break now.  Someone in the front row has a Baby Ruth in her purse and I AM GOING TO FIND IT”.  Palin sure looks glad she didn’t bring a purse with her.

Commercials for: Old Dogs, cheese, Huntington Learning Centers, Zicam, US Cellular

11:20PM:  Oprah said, “Oh, let’s talk about Katie Couric now. You said that was not a good interview.  What you think?”  Palin said the interview was supposed to be lighthearted, with just one segment and if it went well we would do more.  Palin said things didn’t go well and that Couric was very rude and badgering.  There were hours of tape and CBS edited them together to hurt her.  She said that CBS deliberately made her look bad in a partisan agenda. Palin said Couric’s agenda was to show her in a bad light and to make all of her mistakes known, unlike her interview with Joe Biden.  The campaign didn’t feel it was a defining moment and that it was a good interview, but Palin was made to keep doing those segments with Couric. Oprah said, “I got a clip of that interview and we gonna watch it now”.  It’s the clip of Couric getting in Palin’s face and asking her what magazines and newspapers she reads.  Oprah said, “Why didn’t you remember what magazines you read.  I read my own magazine because it is about me.  Why don’t you have your own magazine yet?”.  Palin said that no matter what she said, Couric would try to twist it. Oprah asked if Palin was annoyed with Couric.  Palin said she just came off a big rally and things were going well and she was pumped up and then Katie Couric appeared and so she had to do that interview, so that’s why she seemed revved up, because she had all that adrenaline going.  She also said that Couric kept asking the same questions over and over again, like on abortion, because Couric didn’t like the responses she got.

1136PM:  Palin said that when she was first pregnant with Trig, she thought about what makes a woman think about abortion, because being pregnant is daunting.  She said she thought about her life and how she would tell Todd, because he was working on the slope at the time.  She said that when she told him about Trig having Downs, Todd took it better than she did and he knew  itw as going to be okay.  He said he was happy but also sad.

Commercials:  Carpet cleaningWalt Disney World, Lowe’s

1141PM: Levi Johnston.  Oprah talks about Johnston.  Palin says that most of the discussion about Levi has to do with Trip and doesn’t think national TV is the place to talk about him.  She says that Johnston is going by the name Ricky Hollywood now and that he’s working in porn…he has not seen the baby in a while because of his media tours…Palin says that she prays for Levi.  Oprah says, “You are a public person.  There are circles.  And Levi is in another circle talking to circles.  You pissed?”.  Palin said that his handlers have been telling him to say false things, based on foundations of untruths.  Palin is aware of all the lies that Levi has been saying.  Palin says that Levi’s gig is to spread lies and inconsistencies and that he is not on a healthy road, that he is a teenager who doesn’t know what he is doing and doesn’t see how he is being used.  Bristol has Trip 24/7 and realizes she has it easier than most with all the family support — her public mission is to remind her sisters and other young women that there are consequences to unprotected sex.  Oprah then asks, ‘Will Levi be invited to Thanksgiving Dinner, cause if he’s not coming, can I have his plate?”. Palin says that Levi needs to know he doesn’t have to come down a road of controversy or drama and that there is an inviation to come to Aunt Katie’s house (the Palin relative that hosts Thanksgiving) for the holidays.

11:46PM: commercials — Twilight, Wal-Mart, Oprah’s Oscar winners and nominees, Brooke Shields eating celery for Colgate, Janet Jackson on ABC talking about Michael, Jersey Boys leaving Chicago, Subway sandwiches “Chicken Marina Melt”, that shoe commercial where the shoes pretend they are the Sex And the City Girls and the Samantha shoe is vulgar, Chicago Holiday Light Festival

11:48PM:  Ducks quacking…Wasilla sign…video of Palin with baby Trig (he is SO CUTE!)…Todd playing with Trig…Piper going to school…Palin and Piper going to the gym…Palin with the McCains on campaign bus…then in her SUV saying it’s nice not to be handled and to be able to go where she wants to go…it’s Halloween so they are making caramel apples…the Palin parents are there…sister Molly…baby Trig dressed as a chicken….Piper is dressed as a motor cycle ninja…Palin takes her trick or treating…we swear Piper Palin will be president herself some day…that little girl is so smart and has such an energy to her.

11:51PM:  Oprah asked, “Why Todd gone so much.  You like that?”  Palin explains to her that Todd has a job and is away working a lot, and that’s what life in Alaska is like because of the work there.  Oprah, still sniffing for that BabyRuth bar, has trouble paying attention (yet sweats effortlessly).

11:52PM: Commericals — for some kind of video game, Princess and the Frog, Elmer’s Glue

11:54pm:  Oprah is talking about McCain’s concession speech…and why Palin didn’t get to speak.  ”You looked sad, girl”.  Palin explained that she wanted to win the election and that is why she was sad…and that McCain’s team said that VP candidates don’t give speeches, but that John Edwards gave one in 2004.  Palin said there were things that she wanted to say.  Oprah then brings up the fact Palin has five children and asks how she would have managed that and being VP or President….and then acknowledges that male candidates are never asked that question.  Palin said she was asked that question all along and that men work and run families….Oprah said, “Girl, but they got wives”….and Palin notes that she has a husband who is an excellent father…and that she has been in politics for a long time and that she is a believer in making the right choices that are appropriate at the time and what her support system is.  She says her support system would blow people away because of all the aunts and uncles and friends and parents and the what not.  So that’s how she can handle anything.  Oprah still doesn’t know why Palin stepped down as Governor.  Palin said she was not going to run for a second term and knew she came back from the campaign trail with nonstop Obama operation researchers to start constant ethics violation charges and wasteful efforts against her.  Oprah has a hard time understanding this.  Oprah asks her if she’s looking forward to 2012, and Palin said that in 2012 Lil’ Trig is going to be starting kindergarten.  Palin said that she is focused on making a difference and using the years ahead to affect positive change.

12:02AM:  Commercials: sandwiches, GE appliances, Walmart, Chase Bank

12:03: “Girl one final question: should I be worried you gonna get a talk show, because I will cut you.”  Palin tells Oprah that she is the Queen of Talk Shows…and then takes a little jab at the McCain campaign and says Oprah can’t shut off her mic (like McCain’s staff did on Election Night when they didn’t want Palin to talk at the Biltmore Hotel).  Palin says the book talks alot about all the things she was able to do ‘Thanks to God and Todd”.  Oprah holds up the book Going Rouge then gives a shoutout to Willow and Piper who were in the audience, and that’s a wrap.

Liz Cheney is a national treasure: "Cheney 2012" indeed

Posted at November 16, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

The President of the United States should bow to NO ONE…but, of course, the current POTUS believes he was sent from the stars to humiliate America as much as possible, including prostrating himself before the King of Saudi Arabia to kiss his ring (“But, I couldn’t help myself, it looked so DELICIOUS! I might be ‘The One”, but I cannot resist things that are DELICIOUS!”) and bowing before the Emperor of Japan (“In my defense, I was listening to my Ipod when they told me who he was, and I thought it was the Emperor from Star Wars and that he was going to make me a Jedi so I could get one of those badass purple lightsabers like my homes Sam Jackson has.  I already got a Nobel Prize, baby, so next up is Jedi.  If they skip me on this I’m going to say it’s RAAACIST because all prizes should go to me, got it?”).

In the clip above, William Kristol (not the one who’s friends with Whoopi and made those cowboy movies with Jack Palance before he died, the other one) says, decidedly, that President Palin would not bow to the Emperor.

And Liz Cheney makes a plug for her dad, Dick Cheney, after it’s noted that Vice President Cheney treated the Emperor the way an American should:  politely, without groveling and subjugation.  Cheney shook hands and then the two sat down as EQUALS.

“Cheney 2012,” the wonderful Liz Cheney says.

We like her more and more each day — please give her an hourlong news show of her own somewhere.

Sarah Palin faces the Charybdis of Lake Michigan today; In other news, Sarah Palin prepares to slay the media Hydra

Posted at November 16, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

palin-eye-of-the-tiger

VS.

oprah-2

It’s a shame the revamp of Clash of the Titans won’t be in theaters until next year, and not just because Sam Worthington is scantily clad throughout (though, that always helps, and is a crying shame the film isn’t also a historically and wardrobe-accurate depiction of the ancient Olympics, too). Titans are clashing left and right these days, with one interesting matchup taking place on your Idiot Box sometime this afternoon in syndication (check your local listings).

In one corner will be our second-favorite figure in American politics these days, the Thrilla from Wasilla, Saracuda herself, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin — a force to be reckoned with from America’s final frontier, campaign ready three years before what we expect will be her presidential campaign.

In the other corner squats Lake Michigan’s very own Charybdis, the Beast Who Must Be Fed, with an ego the size of the Willis Tower and a gluttonous appetite for devotion, Oprah Winfrey.

Palin’s doing a round on Oprah’s daily yawnfest this afternoon, so it will be the first time we’ve watched this show in several years (since, honestly, the day she had Nate Berkus on to talk about surviving the 2004 tsunami, where he was flushed out of his luxury resort and into the flood waters and nearly drowned; watching Berkus cavort at MiniBar and seeing how he treats people when not on the air makes us much less sympathetic to him than he came across on that program, FYI).

Oprah’s ratings are in the toilet, for a combination of reasons:  she’s been at this too long, her program’s gotten increasingly more crazy every year since the Tom Cruise couch-jumping thing, her brand’s been diluted with overexposure, that school she runs in Africa that abuses the girls who attend there has done more damage to her than she realizes, and Oprah’s endorsement of and campaigning for Dr. Utopia in 2008 gives her real culpability for the mess Dr. Utopia is making of this country.  Oprah’s best days are behind her (much like her immense, eclipse-generating, ass).  While she’ll regrettably be around forever in one form or another (like Slimer from Ghostbusters), this is the final year of her original syndicated show…which might get its best ratings in decades with Palin’s appearance today.

It’s exciting to watch Palin’s rise to national prominence from the beginning, having been supporters of hers back when she was a little-known Governor of Alaska.  We wish we’d been able to make the trip up to Anchorage before she became McCain’s VP nominee, because then we could have met the woman before her rise (like meeting Hillary Clinton when she was just First Lady of Arkansas)…so we could say we had that chance to know her, even a little, before everything else happened.  We believe if she wants it, and if she follows her own instincts and keeps the GOP’s special brand of idiot/loser/defeatist advisors at bay that she’ll be the next President of the United States — barring a second candidacy by Hillary Clinton in 2012 (in which case, we’d wish Palin sincere luck but would run the cleanest, most issues-oriented, mature but determined campaign to defeat her and put Hillary Clinton in the Oval Office where she belongs…hopefully with Sarah Palin accepting a position in the Cabinet as Secretary of Energy, the Interior, or whatever other position she’d like).

If Hillary doesn’t run next time around, we here intend to work for Sarah Palin.  We will never be Republicans, but we remain gay, moderate, increasingly-close-to-being-former-Democrats-turned-Independents who are so disgusted by what the DNC, mainstream media, Utopia campaign, and Leftists did to Hillay Clinton and then Sarah Palin in 2008 that we have no qualms about working hard and going all-in for Palin in 2012.  To be perfectly honest, we truly hate Ioawa.  We spent 8 weeks there for Hillary Clinton, indulging those spoiled and naive Caucus voters, trying to stop ACORN, the SEIU, and Utopia campaign from gaming that first nominating contest back in 2007-2008, and hoped we’d never have to spend much time in that state again, but we’ll go there for Sarah in a heartbeat if she needs it.  It was brutally cold, there was little to do but canvass and phone bank, at times we thought we were going to freeze to death or be murdered on some back country road where we hadn’t seen anything but scarecrows and packs of unattended farm dogs for miles. The people were indecisive because they loved the attention lavished on them so much, never wanting to settle on a candidate because that would mean the house visits would stop, as no one pays any attention to them if it’s not an election year.  The thought of going through this all again exhausts us already, but we will do it for Sarah.

And we love the fact the MSM will go completely unhinged over her campaign, which we believe is already in motion.

Her book tour is going to be phenomenally successful.  PHENOMENALLY.  It has the potential to be the biggest selling political book of all time, drawing the largest crowds to its signings in history.

Palin will make news at every stop…gaining new friends and supporters along the way.

No matter how well any of this goes, the MSM will frantically keep trying to destroy her, but in actuality they will only be further damaging themselves.  Every hit they take at this woman bounces off of her and strikes them in their own glass jaws.  Even Americans who never thought in their lives about voting Republicans can see the media’s fully in the tank for the current president and is doing everything it can to be his personal propaganda machine.  The attacks on Sarah are coming right from DNC talking points, and all women, regardless of political persuasion, should be disgusted with the DNC for its relentless misogyny directed first at Hillary Clinton and now Sarah Palin.  Men who love and support women should be disgusted too.

All of the energy put into destroying Palin is only going to destroy the MSM and DNC themselves. It’s a story like something out of mythology, where a hero emerges from the wilds somewhere, and all the established monsters come at her with all their venom and bite, and she effortlessly slays them, one by one, using her pluck and the natural talents and abilities she was given in her simple, unadorned upbringing.

That’s a classic American tale that resonates.

Couple it with a stylish and catchy moose logo; add the Saracuda, lipstick on a pitt bull, hockey mom, and other sharp Palinesque visuals; fortify it with a campaign platform centered around energy independence, regaining control of runaway spending, and keeping the promises made to average Americans, and Sarah Palin’s got herself a winning 2012 campaign.

If she wants it.

That remains the operative part of all of this.

The media sausagefest is doing everything it can to berate and obliterate Palin, while also attacking Michelle Bachmann and every other woman who could potentially run for the highest office in the land, the same way these craven sexists pounded Hillary Clinton with every attack imaginable in 2008.  Feminists attack any woman who doesn’t owe them anything, so jealous that women can get ahead without paying homage at the altar of Gloria Steinum and Betty Freidan, or cozying up to the good side of Camille Paglia, if she’d ever show a good side.

People in the MSM will continue to discount Palin at their own peril.

Meanwhile, we will continue to support her, and to regard her career with great interest for all the Liberal monster-slaying potential she has.

If anyone in the Palin camp ever reads this, know you’ve got a committed bunch of gay guys here in Boystown who’ll work Iowa for you if our own champ doesn’t want to put herself in the race in 2012.  If Palin sets the moose loose and launches a presidential campaign, we’ll hit the ground running for her.

And we’ll spend the next three years gearing up for just that, so we’re ready just in case.

Valerie Jarrett as evidence the MSM is losing its powers

Posted at November 16, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Valerie Jarrett

Goblin

There was a terrible Merlin miniseries on NBC years ago, with Martin Short and Miranda Richarson in it, playing some kind of elf and Queen Mab, respectively (White House advisor Valerie Jarrett did not play a goblin in that movie, contrary to popular belief).  In the end, people stopped believing in Mab, and she’s finally defeated because she’s rendered powerless and irrelevant when no one pays her any attention.  She blows away into amnesiac time as dust.

This is what’s happening to the MSM, and it is the price they are paying for being shameless shills for Dr. Utopia and Liberal socialists for the last two years.  People have stopped believing in traditional journalists because they know they do not report the whole truth anymore, and they refuse to cover anything that is not flattering to the White House.

BUT, people are still finding out what they need to know…the Internet, and bloggers have made that possible.  And now that all this information is out of the bag, the MSM is further discredited when people find out the truth and angrily demand why the “journalists” didn’t tell the whole story, warts and all for this White House.

Valerie Jarrett is a great example of this — and is a woman who will be forced to resign in 2010 some time, we have a feeling.

Michelle Malkin has a post up about a controversy at Stanford, where the paper there ran a glowing propaganda piece on Jarrett, wholly ignoring the fact she’s a slum lord and has been involved in all sorts of unsavory affairs, inside and outside the White House.  Well, Stanford caught an earfull from Alumni for running that tribute to Jarrett…it was inundated with letters, emails, calls, strip-0-grams, you name it demanding to know why Jarrett’s record as a slum lord and real estate scam artist was not part of the coverage on her.

This is amazing, because a few years ago the MSM would have been able to keep any of this from getting out.  Even last year, the MSM kept most negatives from getting out about Dr. Utopia.  Most Americans do not know what really went on at Trinity United.  No one has seen Dr. Utopia’s college grades, his birth certificate, or any explanation for what he was doing at Columbia, where many accounts seem to indicate he was selling as well as doing cocaine while in NYC.  There’s also no mention of any of the shennigans state senator Utopia got up to in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood before he moved into that fabulous new mansion on the Southside and was still in a cramped condo with Mrs. Utopia whenever he was in Chicago.  Someday, all of that will certainly get out, and America at large will know what Man’s Country is too. A rub a dub dub.

Apparently, there’s something big about Valerie Jarrett that’s not out in the media yet either.  There are cryptic people we know here in Chicago that keep telling us to look into Jarrett’s past and to write about her as much as possible.  This is the cloak and dagger part of living in Chicago that creeps us out sometimes:  whenever someone has steered us onto a story, it’s been for their own interest, and there a lot of people here who want to see Jarrett go down, if only as payback for awful things she’s done to them through the years.  But, other people who tell us to keep hammering Jarrett are people who seem to just want her out of the White House so she has to stop having the ability to steer so many people like Van Jones into the administration.  Jarrett needs to become such a liability she’s forced onto the sidelines like Jeremiah Wright, another influence on Dr. Utopia that’s been mercifully removed.

Jarrett is more radical than either Dr. Utopia or his wife.  Apparently, she not only looks like one of the goblins from the Harry Potter movies but has the disposition of one too.  The adjective we hear most often about her is “dangerous”.  She has no shame for owning condemned, rodent-infested buildings on the southside where people live without heat or running water.  She tried her level best to make a fortune off Chicago’s Olympics bid.  She is a gatekeeper to the president and every day does whatever she can to get as many radicals into our government as possible.

Valerie Jarrett might not be a household name, but she is bad, bad news.

And the news media has done its level best to protect her, just like it does with the rest of the administration.

But the Stanford bit Malkin noted indicates the media does not always get what it wants…so maybe in the months ahead Jarrett will get what’s coming.

******

UPDATE:  Unrelated to Jarrett, today Drudge ran a few pieces on the MSM and the Left in general is becoming completely unhinged by the likes of Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann.  That’s worthy of a post of its own, but interesting to note here because 2008 did permanent and, we now believe, fatal damage to the MSM that we didn’t appreciate at the time.  When the networks of MSNBC and CNN, and the New York Times, TIME, Newsweek, etc. all went into the tank for the Utopia campaign, we knew they did themselves an immense disservice, but even we didn’t realize how bad things were going to get for the MSM.

It reminds us of the Titanic hitting that iceberg.

We knew the ship sustained damage, but it took a while to realize how bad it really was…and now that the ship is going down, honestly, we just don’t have any idea how these people are going to save themselves.

Sarah Palin will truly be the end of these people.
