h/t Big Government for this one.
It’s the best picture we’ve ever seen of what’s defacto Air Force Three, Nancy Pelosi’s personal flight as Speaker of the House.
After 9/11, the government realized the third in line to presidential succession should be traveling on secure military flights. Speaker Hastert had a small military plane reserved for himself, which he used sporadically.
Nancy Pelosi, upon becoming Speaker in 2007, demanded an upgrade to a 757 because she said San Francisco was too far to travel to in a small military jet. She also needed more room for her family and friends to travel with her. Apparently, she had an Aliyah-esque fit or two over luggage, and how much luggage said planes could accommodate as well.
We personally believe there SHOULD be secure aircraft reserved for the following people:
(1) The POTUS
(2) The VPOTUS
(3) The FLOTUS
(4) Speaker of the House
(5) President Pro Tem of the Senate
(6) Secretary of State
The government should know where all of these people are at all times, and they should have a dedicated flight available to them to do what they need to do to serve the country.
We believe naming these flights Air Force Three, Air Force Four, etc. would also lead to more acountability.
As things stand now, the flights these people are all on are labeled “Special Air Mission XXXX”, so it’s harder to tell looking at flight manifests who was going where and what the purpose of the flight was.
With Pelosi, in particular, the more scrutiny the better.

Can we route that plane through Tehran?

Just think how much money the taxpayers would save if we voted her out in 2010 :)

Just think of how much fun it would be to tar and feather her.

Then maybe she shouldn’t have run for speaker if the sacrifice was too great for her. Why should the rest of us pay?

Agree that accountability should be sought, you know, “transparency” and all. And I agree with your list of presidential succession having their own secure flights – certainly in this, a post-9/11 world (even if the far far lefties want us to be stuck in a 9/10 world). No offense to plain old “lefties” that read this. We need 2 solid parties, not the 4 we have now (Dems/Repubs – Extreme Far Left Lefties and the Conservatives – not to be confused with the Far Far Right righties, often mislabeled as the Evangelical Right, who have no real influence right now). Nope, 2 solid parties, to keep each other honest, where neither border on fascism.
Anyways…just remember, there’s no such “plane” as Air Force 1, or 2, or 3. They all have unique tail numbers. An aircraft is only “Air Force 1″ or “Marine 1″ or “Army 1″ if the president is actually on-board. And each of those missions are indeed Special Air Missions. And while tracking them would be cool – for us – it was also be cool to terrorists…I’m just sayin’…While I am not sure I would whiz on Pelosi were she on fire, we don’t need her martyred. Same goes for any of this current admin that belongs to the Outright Crazy Far Far Left. God how I miss the good old days of basic liberals and conservatives…didn’t know how good we had it.
