I agree, Hillary would have won in 2004. Kerry was so horrendous I left the Democratic party 4 years before most folks here :-)

Stacee: At this point in time, I don’t think there’s any reason for Sarah to tackle the big Dem population centers. This book tour is allowing lots of people in Hicksville to take a good look at her, and make a personal connection with her. Even if an individual gets only twenty seconds or so with her, that persona walks away with a tangible souvenir of that twenty seconds — an autographed copy of her book. In that way, Sarah builds her base, step by step.

There’ll be plenty of time to tackle the Dem strongholds. Disillusionment with the Messiah has barely begun to register in some areas. (I have friends who are still gulping down the Hopium KoolAid as fast as they can.)As the economy continues to tank (which I’m afraid it will until we get rid of Barry, Nancy and Harry), more people will wake up from their unicorn and rainbow filled dreams to the general awfulness of the current situation. The more that happens, the starker the comparison between Barry and Sarah.

About 1 week ago, a troll came over to Sarah Palin’s FB page and said some useless dribble I don’t remember now; but I do remember what I told him/her, “You Dems and Libs should fear (it was late night, “fear” was the best I could think of..)the book tour, where she’s going to the nooks and crannies of America bypassing the elitist usual stops, and meet real people. If you think that’s not “campaigning” then you are sadly mistaken.”
Today I stil say that, therefore, I agree with you…

Followed this blog everyday during last year’s campaign. As a Chicagoan you folks did our city proud unlike The Precedent.

I’m hoping Palin will run. This week’s elections showed conservatives can win if they focus on fiscal not social issues. But when it comes to social issues of concern to many commenters here, Palin’s stance is much different than Hillary’s. How does that play out among Hillbuzz readers and writers?

Liberals are trying hard to make Sarah not run for the presidency in 2012. They know if she Gets the GOP nomination it will be 100 times more historic than their messiah win in 2008.

I agree with your comparison: 2004 was Hill’s year, 2012 is Sarah’s.

And that her tour dates reveal a political strategy, not a sell the most books strategy.

I’ll add my point that this shows her powers of persuasion that she convinced her publisher to avoid the usual book tour stops. I think that’s a pretty incredible accomplishment for a first-time author!

Can you imagine her negotiating with world leaders? Combine the Stare pic you guys usually use with Sarah posts with her powers of persuasion? Wow!

She’ll be in southwest Missouri soon. I would love to see her, but am going to have to wait until she travels to my state again. I’m hoping she will make it to Jefferson City again. The Capitol in MO is very reminiscent of the Capitol in DC. Great photo ops, like the last time she was there in 2008.

Ronald Reagan was hated, abused, and dragged through the muck-raking press in the 70’s much like Sarah Palin was and is. I think she stands a really good chance of winning, especially if she continues to excite the base of the GOP and so far she has had no problem with doing that. Regardless of what the elitists in the GOP say, they need her and that need is only going to continue to grow during the Obambi Administration.

If anything, she has proven that her timing is impeccable and she is willing to risk her own political career and stand up for what she believes in. Even those who dislike her cannot diss her for being wishy-washy or flip-floppy.
