Well, later this morning we’ll find out if it’s Rio or Chicago (or maybe even Tokyo or Madrid) hosting the 2016 Olympics Games.
One of us might, just MIGHT, be making an appearance on the BBC to talk about the “Save Our City” efforts here in Chicago, as so many of us here in the City tried our level best to let the IOC know what financial disaster awaits the Olympics in the hands of the crooks running Chicago and the state of Illinois. We don’t know what time we’ll be interviewed, or if they’ll even use us, but if we get on we’ll update here so you can listen. Heaven knows the American press is strictly prohibited from reporting on the 47% of Chicagoans (in the latest polls) who DO NOT WANT THE OLYMPICS TO COME HERE, primarily because we do not trust our Mayor or city government to manage the finances properly, without graft and corruption.
What seems to be the biggest motivator in people saying NO! to the Games is the parking meter debacle that forced many residents to open their eyes to Daley’s corruption. That parking meter deal…where the City sold the rights to parking meter collection to an outside company for $1 billion dollars…will most certainly go down in history as the mistake that shook the Daley Dynasty from power, permanently. Daley sold the rights, then the private company promptly tripled the parking fees, and has a lease on them for 99 years. Daley sold off a major source of City revenue for pennies compared to what those meters will generate longterm.
If Chicago loses the Olympics today…we think it will be largely because of the lack of public support for the Games here, and for the parking meter and Block 37 (mismanaged real estate project with cost overruns in the hundreds of millions in the heart of the city) debacles that shined a light on the City’s corruption and poor track record with money.
If Chicago wins, we know we’ll be busy around here for the next seven years, as Chicago will be a nonstop feeding trough of graft that we’ll report on from the ground as long as we live here.
Sometime by noon, we’ll all know how this thing shakes out.
UPDATE: We’re booked for the BBC’s “World Views” radio program from 2-3pm CST. We will be talking about Chicago’s culture of corruption and the capacity for the Olympics to be the largest graft enterprise in American history — with Mayor Daley using the Games to install himself as King for Life and fund his cronies for generations. Depending on how things go with the bid, the BBC may or may not use us as they have people in Tokyo and Rio ready to talk as well. Right now, we’re one of two Chicago commentators ready…the other being someone who drank the Kool-Aid and believes the Games will be Hope, Change, Light, and Unicorns. We have no idea how to catch the BBC’s radio program on American channels, but believe a podcast will be up with the BBC eventually.

Hello
I’m a Republican, so I didn’t follow the primaries at all. I figured Hillary was the nominee so why bother. After the “coronation” of “the One” as the nominee, information started to trickle out about the way Hillary was treated in the primaries and all the skulduggery that went on. The way Obama has handled himself since his “ascension” to the Presidency, is there a collection on any Hillary or Puma website where I can read exactly what was done? I have no doubt after the Presidency that I have witnessed so far, that the Hillary supporters are correct in their assertions about Barack and his henchmen. I got on record saying that I would much rather have Hillary leading the nation instead of this socialist we have now.
thanks for any info, I know the MSM covered it up for the Chicago thug.

Yes, a wonderful lady, Dr. Lynette Long, followed the primary in detail and documented the caucus fraud. There were pages and pages of details and reports from people all around the country who witnessed first hand intimidation, fraud, cheating, false voter registration, by Obama zealouts against Hillary. I have put a link below to an article by her. She did have a web-site up during that time and it was public access. I have tried to get to it this year and I think she has put security functions on it to keep it from being destroyed.

Dr. Lynette Long is amazing. Some of us here crossed paths with her many times during the campaign….and only recently realized we had a bunch of her books on our shelves at Buzzquarters. She writes great books on Algebra, Geometry, etc. that are great for freshing up on math and prepping for GREs etc. How funny we bought those before we met her and didn’t realize she wrote them until later. Such a great person.
October 2, 2009 at 10:08 am
I’m pretty sure the site is locked because Dr. Long is ill. I have a whole ream of info that I printed out during the primaries. I witnessed ACORN-SEIU caucus cheating firsthand in NV. In addition, non-BO voters were subjected to physical abuse (e.g., being spat on), verbal invective (“Racist!” “Race traitor!” “Shriveled-up ho!” etc.), misdirection (“Go there to vote” when there was no “there” there). Being locked out if you wore a Hillary button, rules violations, etc.
For a taste of the caucus cheating, go to YouTube and search “We Will Not Be Silenced 2008.” The producer and director are getting ever closer to releasing this documentary about the caucus cheating.
That would be a good place to start. Oh, and WELCOME! PUMAs are good, decent patriots, and most of us love Sarah Palin.

just watched the bid live on fox… That wasn’t Michelle O speaking that was big bird!!! god help us.
October 2, 2009 at 3:44 am
I heard on one of the shows..Obama wouldn’t have made this trip, “if” he wasn’t sure Chicago would get the deal. I think he knew it was a shoo-in. Hope I am wrong.

I did what I could. Go Rio! But if I had to bet, Obama going cinched it for Chi town.

HillBoyz…keeping my fingers crossed…saying a prayer…lighting a candle…want ‘Epic Failure’ on the Obama resume.
Could they have all been ‘played’ with the ‘get ready for the celebration’ plans???
Would that be delicious or what???

I’m from MN and it’s troubling to know that there are good folks like those of you here at Hillbuzz who have to watch your city being destroyed by corruption. I’m putting the good people of Chicago and Illinois in my prayers that your truth and goodness will be what saves your city and state.
October 2, 2009 at 7:55 am
I did what I could too! Sent emails to some of the people you posted. I dont think they really care, but I’m hoping they do. If u guys get em’, maybe some countries will boycott Dr Utopia’s ground zero for corruption. Kepp smilin’, happy Friday, Sean

Fear of Unemployment Dragging Down Our Economy.
October 2, 2009 at 8:19 am
I think Chicago will win. Perhaps this will wake up even more of its citizens to expose Daley, Jarret, bho the fraud et al.
bho the fraud made a fool of himself and further endangered America and her allies at the U.N. So of course he has to waste a million bucks flying to Denmark for a PR “win” that will further destroy the USA.

I knew this guy had “issues.”

Texas Playright,
I think you are absolutely right. If Chicago gets this bid, they will be watched like a hawk and they will not rest in trying to hide their cronyism. Look at this presidential election. Would Americans be engaged the way they are, had McCain won this election? I honestly don’t think so. If they get this bid, the next seven years could be a living hell for the Daley administration and the hacks who prop it up.
October 2, 2009 at 9:53 am
Uh…no.
You haven’t lived here for almost 50 years.
They get away with whatever they want. Only meaningless interchangeable assistants pay the price.
Daley is the Teflon mayor.

Dear Hillbuzz: Wish I could hear you guys on the BBC but I am working. Thanks so much for all you do for our city. With Best Wishes, Susan

October 2, 2009 at 10:27 am
I just heard – on the streaming – that Chicago is out of the running! Ooh, that has to be embarassing for Teh Wun…
October 2, 2009 at 10:34 am
Or maybe not. It could have been Tokyo that was eliminated and I just misheard. God, that’s embarassing. Sorry about that.
October 2, 2009 at 9:51 am
If Chicago gets the Olympics, which the coverage is starting to sound like it is, (BOOOOOOOO!!!!) let me tell you how it happened.
Like all things here, palms were greased. Money and/or favors promised. This is not about sport (whatever those unintelligible Meechelle remarks were supposed to mean). This is about money.
o that will be the story to follow from here on out.
Really, it will be a tragedy, as all the attention that should be paid to our schools, to our children, to the overwhelming violence spilling out of the “bad” neighborhoods into good will be diverted away toward the construction of slipshod housing (well, it’s only gonna be temporary, right?), useless venues, and other cosmetic changes that will line the pockets of the friends of the Chicago cognoscenti.
And when Olympic tourists are pick-pocketed as they ride the L, don’t say we didn’t warn you.
October 2, 2009 at 10:11 am
Can’t wait until noon Pacific to hear the ‘Buzz Boyz on BBC radio!!!
Does anyone know at what time the IOC’s announcement is expected?
October 2, 2009 at 10:14 am
P.S. I still think Rio will get the nod.
October 2, 2009 at 4:28 pm
Great call GNHo,
I woulda bet my last dollar that Chicago had it. Barry’s not used to not getting his way. Too bad he couldn’t cheat, lie and steal this time to answer the call of his thugs yelling “show me the money”
October 2, 2009 at 10:30 am
Chicago has been eliminated in the first ballot.
October 2, 2009 at 10:31 am
Hooray! Kudos to the Olympics Committee.
October 2, 2009 at 10:32 am
Tokyo also eliminated.
October 2, 2009 at 10:32 am
YES YES! Party Time!!! They can see through him too. LOVE IT!

NOBAMA!!!!!!!!
October 2, 2009 at 10:37 am
Caught Michelle’s speech this morning.
Me…me…me…Dad…me…me…me…Dad…me…bro…me….me.
Obama’s speech…well…you get the idea.
Though he did try one humble part but it was still about him despite claiming it wasn’t.
Why did they think this tactic would go well with the IOC?
If you catch the speeches get your remote so you can channel surf when the feeling to hurl comes up. They didn’t show the other countries and their presentations but I suspect it had less to do with the speechmakers and more to do with their country.

KArma, your name says it all. Only hope the karma they all deserve starts coming back at them, starting with getting his butt out of office and making him a lame duck with the 2010 elections.
October 2, 2009 at 10:40 am
You know this is almost as bad as the three automakers flying to DC on individual private jets. It appears they forgot to bring their ACORN minions to vote.

I finally got an e-mail from the New Agenda. What took so long ladies, but I guess better late than never.
Dear Friends:
In response to your emails and comments, TNA is springing into action!
Earlier today, The New Agenda created an online petition titled JAIL POLANSKI and here’s what it says:
The New Agenda invites you to join us in sending a loud and clear message that CHILD RAPE IS WRONG AND PERPETRATORS SHOULD BE PUNISHED. We are asking organizations, blogs and individuals to sign our petition. In doing so you are expressing your displeasure with the signatories of Free Roman Polanski and therefore agreeing to BOYCOTT films that such signatories have directed, produced, acted in or otherwise participated. Don’t go to their films. Don’t rent their films.
Within a few short hours of posting our petition, we have already collected over 100 signatures from individuals, blogs and organizations.
NOW WE NEED YOUR HELP:
Please sign our petition here! Once we have collected 1000 signatures, we will be issuing a press release! And help us spread the word through Facebook, Twitter, etc.!
Also, if you have not yet done so, become a member today!
