Tonight, we’ve accepted a VERY generous offer from a dear friend to treat us to dinner out at a Brazilian steakhouse, which we’ve never tried before, and frankly can’t afford at the moment, to celebrate Rio’s victory over corruption, graft, and the current White House (with its Chicago political machine roots).
A Brazilian wax was not an option. Brazil nuts are hard to swallow. But a great Brazilian-inspired meal sounds GREAT.
If you have any Brazilian restaurants near you and can afford to treat yourself, please give anything Brazilian a nice bump in business today in your area. Think of it as a “Chicago Stimulus Package” and share in our relief and joy tonight that the city we love will not be destroyed by 7 years’ of Olympics graft and mismanagement.
Political watchers here in Chicago are now confident Mayor Daley will end his Zeus vs. Kronos battle of the Titans with his dead father in 2011, after surpassing his dad’s term in office on Christmas Day 2010. By losing the Olympics today, Dr. Utopia and his wife have now term-limited Mayor Daley. ”Short Shanks”, as he’s known around here, will not run for another term now. He will not have the finances to stay afloat now that the Olympics money train has permanently left the station. In the days ahead, intense scrutiny will fall on the $50 million+ Chicago wasted on this fool’s errand…and people will start to think about what good that money could have done in the dangerous, and often fatal, Chicago School System, run by an inexperienced Daley protege who is being groomed to be the next Mayor.
Perhaps the Olympics debacle will put an end to that scheme, too.
We’re looking very much forward to a Rio Olympics. And with seven years to save up…maybe we’ll make a trip down there and enjoy the Games in person, loving every minute of not having any of Rio’s coming headaches and worries to deal with back home in Chicago.

Chicagoans react to news that the Obamas and Oprah lost the Olympics for the city.
The looks on these fools’ faces is priceless…something they better get used to doing for the next three years.
Barack Obama is not “The Lightbringer”.
He is not going to deliver on any of his campaign promises.
He is not going to “fix the hole in the ozone, lower the oceans, eliminate nuclear weapons, and give everyone a unicorn” the way these fools believe.
He is not going to “heal your broken souls”, as his spoiled and indulged wife insists.
He is not “The One”, as a corpulent, flatulent, gas bag of a talk show host claims.
People stupid enough to buy the MSM’s propaganda campaign pushing the current president as THE GREATEST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE are in for reality checks much like Chicagoans in Daley Plaza today.
Chicago didn’t even make it past Round One of voting. THAT should tell you something about what the world REALLY thinks of the Obamas. This is a weak president, who wants to weaken America, to the point where the world no longer even gives us the basic consideration of MAKING IT TO THE SECOND ROUND OF VOTING.
Brace yourselves for three more years of humiliation and apologies at the hands of this weak and effeminate president — the new Carter, but without a good woman like Rosalyn at his side.
Heaven help us all, really and truly.

BREAKING: Michelle Obama largely blamed for Chicago Olympics' loss: came off a little too Marie Antoinette for the IOC
Why didn't Michelle Obama, international fashion icon, deliver the Games as she promised? Could it be that no one really likes her? And that she wears hideous clothes?
Michelle Obama seems to be one of the main reasons Chicago lost the Olympics in the first round…her behavior in Europe was typical for her, coming across as spoiled, entitled, pushy, and arrogant.
Her remarks about spending more than $10 million dollars of taxpayer money to fly first class to Europe, stay in fabulous hotels, wear designer gowns, and hold court being “a great sacrifice” on her part really rubbed people the wrong way.
Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey walked around Copenhagen thinking they were gods, if not royals. Oprah pushed and shoved her way through events yesterday in a pumpkin orange dress, spending just a few minutes gracing IOC members with her presence, then whisking away to private events where she could be adored in a more intimate setting.
While the MSM in America indulges these two, the rest of the world doesn’t buy into any of that.
Michelle Obama is not the fashion icon or beloved figure the MSM keeps trying to convince all of you she is. This is indeed the woman who says she’s only proud of this country when she’s getting what she wants. She’s the woman who was given an Ivy League education and a job at Sidley Austin, the fifth largest firm in the world, and complained her whole time there about having to do actual work. She complained the whole time she worked for the City of Chicago, too. All she wanted to do was play all day. This is a woman who thinks $600 in tax rebates “won’t even buy a nice pair of earrings”, who planted an “organic garden” in the White House to showcase her arugula without bothering to look into whether the soil there could actually grow anything.
To know this woman is not to love her.
It sure as heck looks like the vote today by the IOC proves that.
Blame it on the Bossa Nova…the world is going to RIO…DE JANIERO!

Chicago Eliminated — IOC sees corruption potential; FLOTUS and Oprah epic fail; world rejects Obama; humiliating defeat of the self-proclaimed "Lightbringer"
Breaking…Chicago was eliminated in the first round of IOC voting.
It looks like Dr. Utopia and Oprah fell flat on their faces. We’re hearing the IOC voting members thought Oprah, in particular, was quite obnoxious, pushy, and overbearing in her dealings with IOC members.
And the big joke around the IOC was that a new sport at the Chicago Games would have been “corruption”, not rugby or golf.
UPDATE: Can anyone explain how Tony Blair and Vladimir Putin were able to deliver the Olympics for their countries, but the Obamas could not even get Chicago past the first round of voting?
How long before the current US President claims it was RAAACISM! behind this decision? The way RAAACISM is driving everyone who opposes the Obamas or Oprah or Henry Gates or any other diaper babies out there.

UPDATE: How much taxpayer money went into the Obamas’ whirlwind trip to Europe, including the extra cargo charges to bring Oprah Winfrey along?
Why are US taxpayers footing the bill for that Air Force One travel?
Shouldn’t the Obamas personally reimburse taxpayers for that? Shouldn’t Oprah pay her fair share for that joyride? Shouldn’t Chicago itself, at the very least, have to pay for that?
These are questions people need to ask nation-wide.
Additionally, the big question is WHY Chicago lost in the FIRST ROUND. If the world is supposed to love Obama so damn much, then why on Earth did Chicago lose out in the first round?
It really and truly does feel like Michelle Obama, in particular, probably has a lot to do with that. She is not a nice woman, is not a fashion icon, and does not “dazzle people” the way the media claims. She is a rude, pushy, petty, and caustic individual — one we’ve personally encountered here in Chicago. She alienates people who walk into a room hoping to like her. But everyone is always too afraid of being called a RAAACIST! to speak the truth about her. The same can be said about Oprah…Oprah is not a nice woman by any stretch of the imagination. It is no surprise the two of them are fast friends. And it’s no surprise the two of them probably very much indeed did keep Chicago from winning the Olympics.
We have never in our lives been so proud of the current First Lady.
EPIC FAIL.

The United States of Europe takes another step towards reality today
We’re not sure how we feel about this, but the United States of Europe has taken another step towards reality today…all dependant on what Irish voters decide in terms of the Lisbon Treaty.
Essentially, here’s the deal. Ever since the Treaty of Rome in 1957, Europe’s been on a path towards becoming the United States of Europe (USE). Just like the separate and sovereign US colonies that joined together first under the Articles of Confederation and then as the United States under the US Constitution. Various treaties have been enacted through the years drawing France, Germany, Austria, Italy, the Netherlands, Great Britain, and the rest together, closer and closer, right up to today, where we’re incredibly close to seeing a President of Europe…who will most likely be Tony Blair, former British Prime Minister.
The current presidents and prime ministers of individual European countries would then become something like regional governors, with one Supreme Commander over the whole continent.
Speaking as an American, a strengthened Europe to rival us is not in our best national interests. In many ways, Europe’s fecklessness, indecision, and bumbling benefits the US because when we need or want European support for something, we can play various countries against each other and get what we want. A united Europe, whose territories of France, Germany, etc. become similar to Georgia, Alabama, New York etc., would be an instant rival to the United States, which we don’t especially want or need.
But, on the other hand, the USE and USA could get an awful lot done if working together, without the usual nonsense of France deliberately sabotaging some agreement or enterprise because it wants to team up with Russia to sell arms or make money somewhere strife-ridden. Those sorts of machinations would, we assume, be curtailed under a USE setup, as France would be able to make as much trouble as California or Texas does in US foreign policy.
The Treaty of Lisbon does not create the USE, but more or less creates an Articles of Confederation system for Europe that’s the last step before The United States of Europe. Tony Blair’s may be the “first President of Europe”, but watch for something like a “Supreme Chancellor” when the USE comes along in 5-10 years.
Similar movements are underway in Africa, where Quaddafi for years has been trying to start a “United States of Africa” or “African Union”…with himself as President, of course.
The Bilderberg conspiracists believe these “continental governments” are themselves the precursors to the “One World Government” they believe is evolving, to be in place within 50 years. That gets into tinfoil hat territory…but it is interesting to think about. If Africa ever gets its act together, there might be cause for concern over that…but we still doubt it would ever be possible.
Though, we imagine, it’s Dr. Utopia’s dream to be President of the World and will do everything he can to make that happen.
Friday Open Thread: October 2nd, 2009
Well, later this morning we’ll find out if it’s Rio or Chicago (or maybe even Tokyo or Madrid) hosting the 2016 Olympics Games.
One of us might, just MIGHT, be making an appearance on the BBC to talk about the “Save Our City” efforts here in Chicago, as so many of us here in the City tried our level best to let the IOC know what financial disaster awaits the Olympics in the hands of the crooks running Chicago and the state of Illinois. We don’t know what time we’ll be interviewed, or if they’ll even use us, but if we get on we’ll update here so you can listen. Heaven knows the American press is strictly prohibited from reporting on the 47% of Chicagoans (in the latest polls) who DO NOT WANT THE OLYMPICS TO COME HERE, primarily because we do not trust our Mayor or city government to manage the finances properly, without graft and corruption.
What seems to be the biggest motivator in people saying NO! to the Games is the parking meter debacle that forced many residents to open their eyes to Daley’s corruption. That parking meter deal…where the City sold the rights to parking meter collection to an outside company for $1 billion dollars…will most certainly go down in history as the mistake that shook the Daley Dynasty from power, permanently. Daley sold the rights, then the private company promptly tripled the parking fees, and has a lease on them for 99 years. Daley sold off a major source of City revenue for pennies compared to what those meters will generate longterm.
If Chicago loses the Olympics today…we think it will be largely because of the lack of public support for the Games here, and for the parking meter and Block 37 (mismanaged real estate project with cost overruns in the hundreds of millions in the heart of the city) debacles that shined a light on the City’s corruption and poor track record with money.
If Chicago wins, we know we’ll be busy around here for the next seven years, as Chicago will be a nonstop feeding trough of graft that we’ll report on from the ground as long as we live here.
Sometime by noon, we’ll all know how this thing shakes out.
UPDATE: We’re booked for the BBC’s “World Views” radio program from 2-3pm CST. We will be talking about Chicago’s culture of corruption and the capacity for the Olympics to be the largest graft enterprise in American history — with Mayor Daley using the Games to install himself as King for Life and fund his cronies for generations. Depending on how things go with the bid, the BBC may or may not use us as they have people in Tokyo and Rio ready to talk as well. Right now, we’re one of two Chicago commentators ready…the other being someone who drank the Kool-Aid and believes the Games will be Hope, Change, Light, and Unicorns. We have no idea how to catch the BBC’s radio program on American channels, but believe a podcast will be up with the BBC eventually.
