Ooooooh, this is going to be GREAT.
Sarah Palin has completed her memoir, set for publication November 17th.
We. Can’t. Wait.
If she can send liberals running and throw Dr. Utopia’s administration into total disarray by just posting 1,200 words at a time on Facebook, just imagine what she’ll stir up when her BOOK drops.
We continue to watch everything Palin does with great interest. She, essentially alone in the Republican party, is making every correct move needed to position her self effectively for 2012 and give Dr. Utopia a real run for his money.
We continue to hope she’s so successful in all she does that Dr. Utopia’s defeat becomes assured…and Democrats are forced to shake up their own race and grant Hillary Clinton the nomination she should have had in 2008. If it’s Dr. Utopia vs. Palin, we side with Palin. It if’s Clinton vs. Palin, we fight for our own champ Hillary, but would relish the election and cheer for whichever of these great women won in the end.
It really seems the fate of a certain effeminate black man to constantly be up against strong, unique, one-of-a-kind white women.
Go, Sarah, Go!

— rogu·ish \ˈrō-gish\ adjective

Can’t say I like the title of Sarah’s book. It does not fit her at all. None-the-less, I love the real character of Sarah Palin and will support her in whatever she does.

The definition of the adjectival form is what’s correct, relevant to the title:
Main Entry: 3rogue
Function: adjective
Date: 1872
1 : resembling or suggesting a rogue elephant especially in being isolated, aberrant, dangerous, or uncontrollable
(Definition # 1 is most appropriate, especially that elephant reference. LOVE IT!!!)

And we all know that in a political context, it means breaking out on one’s own, unfettered by a’hole political-party dictums. Being “handled” by no one but herself.

Here! Here! I’m waiting for it to appear and I’ll get my copy as well. Thanks Sarah! and HB boys!
September 28, 2009 at 7:19 pm
Ah, yes. Good call. She is definitely not a RINO!!!!!!!
Now I’m on board with the title.
Thanks, Garlic.

Garli, I can see that quote on the dust cover.
Perfect!!!

“Rogue” instantly conjures up the character “Rogue” from the X-Men comics in our mind.
The most powerful member of that team in many ways — able to sap the powers of others and turn people’s strengths against them, expending little effort of her own and finding her unique niche and exploiting it marvelously.
Sarah Palin’s use of Facebook reminds us of this…knowing she couldn’t take on Dr. Utopia using the traditional Kool-Aid media, she found her own way, and turned the media’s strengths against them, and against the White House.
MARVELOUS.
And very, very ROGUE.
It’s also a natural step away from McCain’s trademarked “maverick” while keeping some of that spirit.
This woman certainly knows what she is doing. In time we believe she’ll be seen as one of the most brilliant political strategists of our time, with instincts so good the left will never see her coming.
September 29, 2009 at 12:01 am
I also think it is a slap at the media and “inside anonymous McCain Staffers” that claimed she went rogue during the campaign. They tried to discredit her and scapegoat her.
However, It can’t be an insult if you own it!
She is turning the tables and knocking everyone of every party on their arses!!!
I am a bit sad to here you say you wouldn’t side with Sarah vs. Hillary. I too am a strong Hillary supporter but I think her time has passed and I don’t want to see her run again because I know what Dr. Utopia and his ilk will try and do. It is one thing to attack the opposition party. That would be expected with Sarah. It is another thing to attack within your own party in a manner like they did Sarah. Hillary has been thru enough. I don’t think I can stomach anymore. I really don’t want her to run for POTUS. I do want her to run for Gov. of NY. I think she would be fabulous and make everyone regret not giving her the Dem nomination. I am very thrilled that Palin called herself a libertarian while giving her Hong Kong speech. I hope that she sticks with the libertarian conservative mold like Reagan.

Palin finishes memoir, ‘Going Rogue,’ out Nov. 17
By HILLEL ITALIE (AP) – 1 hour ago
NEW YORK — That was fast.
Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate, has finished her memoir just four months after the book deal was announced, and the release date has been moved up from the spring to Nov. 17, her publisher said.
“Governor Palin has been unbelievably conscientious and hands-on at every stage, investing herself deeply and passionately in this project,” said Jonathan Burnham, publisher of Harper. “It’s her words, her life, and it’s all there in full and fascinating detail.”
Palin’s book, her first, will be 400 pages, said Burnham, who called the fall “the best possible time for a major book of this kind.”
The book now has a title, one fitting for a public figure known for the unexpected — “Going Rogue: An American Life.”
Harper, an imprint of HarperCollins, has commissioned a huge first printing of 1.5 million copies. Sen. Ted Kennedy’s “True Compass,” published by Twelve soon after his Aug. 25 death, also had a 1.5 million first printing.
As with the Kennedy book, the digital edition of Palin’s memoir will not be released at the same time as the hardcover. “Going Rogue” will not be available as an e-book until Dec. 26 because “we want to maximize hardcover sales over the holidays,” Harper spokeswoman Tina Andreadis said Monday.
Publishers have been concerned that e-books, rapidly becoming more popular, might take away sales from hardcover editions, which are more expensive.
Palin, who abruptly resigned as Alaska governor over the summer with more than a year left in her first term, has been an object of fascination since Sen. John McCain, the Republican presidential candidate in 2008, chose her as his running mate, making an instant celebrity out of a once-obscure public official.
Although Democrat Barack Obama easily won the election and Palin was criticized even by some Republicans for being inexperienced, she remains a favorite among conservatives and is a rumored contender for 2012. Interest in her is so high that a fan recently paid $63,500 to have dinner with her, part of an Internet auction for a charity that aids wounded veterans.
Palin, 45, spent weeks in San Diego shortly after leaving office and worked on the manuscript with collaborator Lynn Vincent, a person close to her said. She was joined in San Diego by her family and her top aide, Meghan Stapleton, then spent several weeks in New York working around the clock with editors at Harper, said the person, who wasn’t authorized to comment and asked not to be identified.

I won’t post the link, but there’s blood in the water over at HuffPo, over 2,000 “Sarah’s so dumb….” comments to the same AP article. LOL, I don’t miss the looney left at all.
September 28, 2009 at 9:11 pm
If HuffPo is at 2k, then that must mean the KosKooks must be up to dozens and dozens of hits. At the DUmp I am sure there is much bitc#ing, whining and gnashing of teeth…and that’s just over which DUmmie loves The Won the most…by their show of Palin Derangement Syndrome. Will PDS be a pre-existing condition under ObamaCare?
September 28, 2009 at 9:27 pm
So I guess that means she didn’t miss the first deadline and was going to miss the 2nd so she had to get “some guy from the neighborhood”, (who used to be a terrorist)to write it for her?

Love it! Good one, lyn.
September 28, 2009 at 7:42 pm
It’s on my list for Santa fo sho!
September 28, 2009 at 8:36 pm
I just checked amazon.com and found it is also a title of a comic book. Oh boy, the libs are gonna have a hayday with this.
September 28, 2009 at 10:49 pm
We’ll probably be seeing a lot of Sarah on TV while she is promoting her book. That should be verrrry interrrrresting…
September 28, 2009 at 11:33 pm
I’m excited to read her book! I think Going Rogue is a fabulous title. Rogue is the sci fi definition, the military usage, as in not following orders, not checking in with the mother ship, going your own way.
John Stewart did a fabulous parody of Palin “going rogue.” Maybe it was intended to make fun of her or something, but it didn’t quite work out that way. Instead it came across as kind of inspiring. Here is a woman who won’t be bossed around and controlled, someone who can really lead.
September 28, 2009 at 11:48 pm
Sarah has thrown down the gauntlet. Her book is another middle finger to the establishment. I can’t wait to see the inside scoop on the McCain campaign – what she REALLY thought of the strategy. I suspect Sarah has too much class to trash John McCain, whom she genuinely admires, but I have a feeling she will shred the strategy that sent her into a six-hour “death panel” with Katie Couric, and refused to set her free to fraternize with the traveling press corps.
September 29, 2009 at 12:05 am
I am very curious to find out why she bumped the release date.
Is it to preempt a right before Thanksgiving vote on healthcare? Is it to preempt Levi or Meghan McCain’s books both due out in the spring??? Is it simply to boost holiday shopping?
Sarah likes to be proactive and not reactive so I will be most interested to see if her motivation is revealed.

Publishers decide release dates, and what they take into consideration is which date will be most beneficial to press and sales. I’m sure they’ve thought of each of the items you’ve mentioned. Naturally, as you’ve surmised, they don’t want anything else to eclipse the release.
Personally, I’m wondering if they held back the release of bound galleys, like they did with Gov. McGreevey’s book (which I worked on). I’m guessing they want to keep interested parties champing at the bit for bound books and ignorant of foreknowledge of the book’s contents.

Thanks for this, Hillbuzz. I went straight to bn.com – did not pass go; did not collect $200 – and pre-ordered her book!

It is number 1 on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. It is ever ahead of Dan Browns fiction book!
