Why are the Clintons, the Bushes, and the Carters the only ones paying attention?
Michelle Obama fell sound asleep at 10:32am CST (11:32am EST) during Ted Kennedy’s funeral. A friend of ours spotted it while watching FOX live. It’s while the priest is talking, and FOX ran a shot of Dr. Utopia looking up in the air, the way he does, with Mrs. Utopia, eyes closed, doing that thing someone does when her head’s about to topple to one side and wake her up. A few moments later, it’s time to stand up for the next part of the service, so she’s woken up by the noise of everyone coming to their feet. The video above is of her starting to nod off…but there’s a better shot off FOX of her actually sitting there with her eyes closed for a while (still looking for that clip…at 1032am CST, FOX News).
The least this woman can do is stay awake during the funeral of the murderer who gave their family that dog her husband named after his own initials.
While we can never defend the odd things our current first lady chooses to wear (such as today, where she has a giant black bow on her dress, like she’s some sort of present for the funeral), we can excuse her for falling asleep in church — since she spent so many years at Trinity United, listening to Jeremiah Wright screaming and yelling and caterwauling, rolling around on the ground, talking about how evil white people and the government are, a sedate Catholic service must be positively boring to her. No accusations of RAAAACISM! being thrown around, no talk of chickens roosting, no praise for terrorists who kill Americans. Mrs. Utopia must be BORED TO TEARS.

I noticed that President Clinton,and President Obama both, at one point, looked like their eyes were about to close. As for Michelle, I didn’t see that part. I was having difficulty watching it, for the most part, as the Kennedy family doesn’t mean anything to me. I watched only to see the interaction of those who attended. I found it interesting that when during the mass, the peace salutation showed Hillary Clinton and Vickie Kennedy giving each other a long hug, while Michelle was the last one to be hugged by Vickie, and it was short and semi-sweet.

This is the best commentary I’ve heard all day! :) I was talking with my brother on the phone during the funeral and he kept noticing how Michelle was scowling at Hillary. Noticably, when anyone would come up and talk to H. and give her a big hug! Jealous heffer! I liked watching Hillary talking with Pres. Bush and Laura. Classy!

fell asleep at a ballet-next thing it was being announced that she was pregnant with Prince William. Just wondering if the same condition just might be making Michelle so sleepy. I haven’t seen a clear picture of Michelle’s outfit, but she does love her bows and when they went on vacation probably weren’t thinking about what to wear to a funeral. Michelle is Michelle and she probably will continue to dress and act in a manner that is true to her way of doing things.

I definitely agree about the bow. It looks over-the-top and out of place. What is it with the first lady that she refuses to adhere to protocol. This is not a coktail party; it is a FUNERAL! Could she not find a decent long-sleeve black suit in her closet to wear? She has amazing arms, we get it, but for once cover yourself. ZYou are no longer some small-time Chicago Senator’s wife; you are first lady of the US. She keeps wearing those awful attires which do not do a thing for her, just because some people tell her she is “fashionable.” Sometimes mere respect demands that you put fashion aside and wear a simple, classic, stylish suit. If ever there is such an occasion, this was one and she dropped the ball.

Last nite the only time I believe the name of God was used at TK’s memorial was by Biden, and it was said in the worse of the curse words. He also cursed 2 other times. Talk about no class and UnChristian – it causes your heart to break to see how low our country has fallen – from the President on down. The Christians of American need to get on their knees in prayer everyday. You need to be aware that liberals do not believe in Freedom of Speech as the Founding Fathers conceived it in the 1st Amendment.
I teach in a NYC public school (2nd career) and what I hear the kids being taught would make your hair stand on end. So don’t be surprised by the “request” to YouTube. If the facts don’t fit, the liberal way is to alter the facts.

In Mrs. Utopia’s defense, she did clunk her head while boarding a mini-Air Force One on Friday night. Perhaps she was a bit concussed. Fox had a video of it, although there was no comment on the head clunk, only that they were leaving the Vineyard early.
