On June 8th, 2009 David Letterman “joked” about 33-year old Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees statutory-raping 14 year-old Willow Palin during the game at the new Yankees Stadium. Willow Palin was the only Palin daughter at the game with her mother, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Letterman “joked” that Palin’s “daughter got knocked up by Alex Rodriguez” during the game. Sex between a 33 year-old and a 14 year-old is statutory rape. Letterman then followed this vulgarity up on June 9th, 2009 by comparing 14 year-old Willow Palin to one of disgraced former Governor Eliot Spitzer’s prostitutes, while calling Governor Palin herself “a slutty flight attendant”.
Every day, add the advertisers you see on David Letterman or his website to this thread so a constantly updated running list is maintained.
Tell the following four companies you will no longer be patronizing them so long as they continue to advertise on Letterman:
Mars Candy (click for address and C-suite names)
Kellogg’s (click for address and full list of C-suite execs)

We’ll have better results if we focus all our might on the four advertisers (like Olive Garden, Mars Candy, Kelloggs, and Johnson + Johnson), but here are other advertisers of David Letterman as well. As one poster put it, “Aside from the cars and electronics, most of Letterman’s ads are for baldness, sexual dysfunction, pain relief, and vitamins. What does that tell you about the man?”

If is far, far more important for you to contact CBS’s advertisers. Only pressure on CBS’ revenue stream will get the executives there to take action against David Letterman. Think about it: CBS knows EXACTLY who and what David Letterman is. They have never had a problem with him or the vulgar, misogynistic things he says and does before. Only if advertisers abandon the network will CBS rethink its commitment to airing the Late Show with David Letterman. Write to the biggest, family-friendly advertisers above first and foremost, but here’s CBS’ contact information as well, in case you are looking for that too:
CBS Contact Info: (212) 975-4321
CBS Executives:
Nina Tassler = nina.tassler@cbs.com
Kelly Kahl = kelly.kahl@cbs.com
Kim Sartori = kim.sartori@cbs.com
Les Moonves = lmoonves@cbs.com
Reason: remember when Michael Phelps was caught with his marijuana bong? Kellogg’s cereal dropped him like a hot potato because its brand image is child-focused for most of its products. Speedo won’t ever drop Phelps, no matter what he does, but we doubt he’ll ever have his face on a McDonald’s happy meal again either.
No candy company will want to be associate with raping 14 year-olds.
Kelloggs won’t want to be involved in another messy advertising relationship after Phelps.
A concerted effort against family-friendly advertisers of Letterman will work, but it will require persistence.
“M&Ms: the candy for people who think rape is super funn!”
“Kelloggs: the breakfast cereal for misogynists and perverts who exploit minor children!”
“Johnson + Johnson: household products for when a 62-year old pig’s own johnson needs statutory rape to get going!”
Now, this should have brand managers racing for the phone if a focus and spirited effort is directed at hammering them each and every day until their ads stop appearing on Letterman’s show and website.
In this economy, a loss of three or four big advertisers like that will indeed be noticed by CBS.
UPDATE #2: Some advertisers, such as Best Western, are claiming they do not advertise on Late Night with David Letterman. This is apocryphal: Best Western buys banner ad space on CBS.com, and these ads appear on CBS.com when you click on the David Letterman page on that site. Best Western, Aerosoles, Paramount’s new Star Trek movie, and other banner ads pop up on every page of David Letterman’s site. This is paid advertising Best Western and these other companies CHOOSE to buy from CBS.
If you are an advertiser upset people who despise rape and refuse to allow Letterman to get away with promoting the rape of minors in New York, then you need to get on the phone to your ad buy account execs and yank your web ads from CBS.com.
No one believes you do not have the power to do this. If Best Western has agents who can post here, then you have agents who can call your advertising firms and stop giving your money to CBS and David Letterman.
It was consistently reported that WILLOW Palin, 14 years old, was in New York, attending events with her mother. Not 18 year old Bristol.
There is NO EXCUSE for Letterman and his writers to “make the mistake” of attacking “the wrong” Palin daughter.
None.
Just as there is no excuse for Best Western or any other advertiser to justify their support for Letterman by claiming, “we only buy ads online, not on TV”.
Best Western: the hotel to stay in if you love jokes about raping minors!
UPDATE #3: Some advice on how to write a good letter to corporate America.
UPDATE #4: Sarah Palin on The Today Show, 6/12/09. As Palin states, there was only one Palin daughter at that Yankees game: 14 year-old Willow Palin. Letterman deliberately said the Palin daughter at the Yankees game was impregnated by Alex Rodriguez during the game. That’s statutory rape of a 14 year-old by a 33 year-old baseball player. Palin calls Letterman out for, days later, trying to spin it that he was talking about “some other daughter” being forcibly impregnated at that baseball game — a daughter who was thousands and thousands of miles away, while 14 year-old Willow was the Palin at the Yankees game, in proximity to Alex Rodriguez. The joke makes no sense if it was indeed about Bristol, and the fact that Letterman never used “the Palin daughter’s name” seems like he deliberately built wiggle room for himself with his Obots and MSM enablers if he got called out for his joke about statutory rape.
Anyone advertising on Letterman’s program shares accountability for the content of his show because without your ad dollars corporate America, Letterman wouldn’t be on the air.
UPDATE #5: Why Democrats like Al Sharpton effectively use boycotts to affect public policy and corporate responsibility — and why conservatives allow the MSM to attack their own with impunity: it all boils down to the simple fact that Democrats never give up, never let up the pressure, while Republicans have poor follow through and don’t effectively organize. More on this from Sebastian Gray, with inisight into how David Letterman could inspire Republicans to see all this as a very teachable moment.
UPDATE #6: As of June 18th, Olive Garden, Embassy Suites, and Hellmann’s Mayo have all pulled their advertising off The Late Show with David Letterman, costing CBS millions of dollars in ad revenue through the end of this year. We’d like to see the pressure continue on Mars Candy, Kelloggs, and Johnson + Johnson until Letterman loses these three big advertisers as well, so keep making those calls, writing those letters, and faxing these three big sponsors until they join Olive Garden in sending Letterman and pigs like him the message that statutory rape is not funny and sexism and misogyny will no longer be tolerated in a world where Letterman could have never gotten away with making racial statements in the same vein. Continued pressure on Mars Candy, Kelloggs, and Johnson + Johnson will make Madison Avenue advertising execs see that attacks on women inspire a whole army of Al Sharptons to stand up for women in the same way the black community rallies when it believes racism is afoot.

THANK YOU for compiling the list of sponsors. I will contact every single one of them to voice my disgust. I never watch his weirdo show but I will tonight and will make a list of his Chicagoland sponsors. Reporting back later….

If you wish to file a complaint with the FCC (I contend that statutory rape & pedophilia fall into the obscene language category, which is prohibited at all times):
http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
or complain to CBS:
http://www.cbs.com/info/user_services/fb_global_form.php
or comment on Dave’s Top Ten Spot, which they probably won’t publish unless you worship Dave:

Thanks for these links!
I am making up my own top ten list of why I why Letterman is a has-been. Maybe we should all send one to the third link.
June 14, 2009 at 7:26 pm
That’s a good idea! We could also cross post the lettermankus that are on twitter (5 syllables/7 syllables/5syllables). One of mine:

Dave attacks Willow
Uncool to insult children
When will he retire?
June 10, 2009 at 1:44 pm
THANKS for this info, HB! I am copying it to my e-mail program so that I can address the three advertisers you singled out (great thinking on your part!) and write to the CBS execs you listed.
June 10, 2009 at 1:46 pm
I’m really encouraged that so many are motivated to fight back against this. But I think it’s important, not just to address the child-rape “joke”, but also to decry Letterman’s sexism in general, as well. I think the child-rape “joke” is part of his larger sexism, and while drawing attention to the child abuse material is very important, it’s not enough, IMO.
I think the sexism which was “allowed” in the primaries gave a lot of these creeps more “bravery” to show their sexist selves.
I think Sarah’s letter was excellent – the way she tied his comment into the growing trend of sexual abuse of minors by older men really put his attitude into perspective. The way she put it made it clear that people should be *ashamed* to make jokes like this, because they are minimizing and possibly contributing to the rape, of children as well as grown women.
IMO, that’s the proper framework – *he* is *shameful*. Not just unfunny – he is a part of the problem of real rape and child rape – he is guilty of perpetuating the problem. I hope all these letters put him on the defensive, where he should be.
June 10, 2009 at 1:49 pm
“he is a part of the problem of real rape and child rape”
clarification – the “real” refers to adult rape and child rape, as opposed to a joke about rape. (the sentence structure made it look like child rape isn’t real).
June 13, 2009 at 3:01 pm
The only way to keep the smutty remarks like Letterman’s about Palin’s daughter is to let the advertisers and the CBS Network know how one feels about it. What has been missed in that imbroglio was the indifference of the audience. What happened to the boos? The silence of disaproval was was deafenning. Is this where we are heading where no matter how repugnant everything goes?
June 11, 2009 at 7:35 am
Excellent post. We must STOP this sexism. It affects all women.
June 10, 2009 at 1:50 pm
I don’t think that David Letterman would think a joke about kidnapping his son would be very funny.
June 10, 2009 at 5:06 pm
And neither does the dumba** sitting in the Montana prison who tried it.
June 15, 2009 at 2:39 pm
After what he said, then I have to assume that the mother of his son is a slut – they aren’t married and his kid is after all a BASTARD just like his father…
June 10, 2009 at 2:01 pm
I’ve already emailed about 6 of the sponsors. None of them have contact info that’s easy to access, but you can make do with what they have. To make things a little easier, here’s some possible links for email contact with the three.
Best Western: Do NOT use the advertising contact link, it will reject your email. It may be screening for keywords Palin or Letterman because it’s hard to believe that an advertising link doesn’t work. Try http://www.bestwestern.com/email/marketing.asp
Btw, BWI will respond with:
“Thank you for your email concerning Best Western advertising on television. We apologize for your dissatisfaction.
We appreciate you taking the time to write and thank you for your comments.
Best Western International is not affiliated with any network channel, or programs shown. Advertising time is purchased through a media agency, not the actual network.”
Not good enough, as the media agency works at BWI’s direction.
Mars: http://www.mars.com/global/Contact+Us/Contact+Us.htm
Embassy Suites’ press/media addresses aren’t published on the website. Easiest access is customer service: http://embassysuites1.hilton.com/en_US/es/customersupport/feedback.do
FWIW:
Capital One

Thanks for the links so I can send an email to theses companies. I am going to send them an email complaining about David Letterman and that I will be boycotting their products/services as long as they continue advertising on his show and CBS. I will also emplore them to pressure CBS into demanding that Letterman issue a public apology to the Palin family and especially Willow Palin. Thanks again for the links!!!!!
June 10, 2009 at 2:20 pm
Thank you. I know how much work this is to do, as I’ve done this on occasion. I’ve written some on the list already.
Thank you too, Hillbuzz, for mobilizing this.

Again, thank you for contacting us about this important issue.
June 10, 2009 at 2:21 pm
When I call my local station I intend to tell them that I expect to see an apology in the local newspaper. It will be necessary for them to do what ever it takes to get that apology in print because no one I know will be watching their station to see it on air.
June 10, 2009 at 2:34 pm
Sorry if this has already been posted, but I just saw it on Team Sarah:
“Any ‘jokes’ about raping my 14-year-old are despicable. Alaskans know it and I believe the rest of the world knows it, too.”
– Todd Palin
“Concerning Letterman’s comments about my young daughter (and I doubt he’d ever dare make such comments about anyone else’s daughter): ‘Laughter incited by sexually-perverted comments made by a 62-year-old male celebrity aimed at a 14-year-old girl is not only disgusting, but it reminds us some Hollywood/NY entertainers have a long way to go in understanding what the rest of America understands – that acceptance of inappropriate sexual comments about an underage girl, who could be anyone’s daughter, contributes to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others.’”
– Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska
June 13, 2009 at 6:42 am
Sarah & Todd:
I will not buy products nor be watching this Stupid Has Been. I have never enjoyed watching the show the few times I have tuned in.
God Bless your family!! Your comment about not coming on his show just to raise his ratings was brilliant!
Backing you all the way Sarah! Keep up the conservative movement!!
Mike
June 10, 2009 at 2:40 pm
Thanks Hillbuzz!!
I will spread the word. It is encouraging to see so many stand up for children. This isn’t just about Palin’s kids, it is about all kids.
I have mixed emotions with payback. There is definitely a part of me that wishes we could find an outrageous European comedian who was liberal and brave enough to take ALL the absurd attacks against Palin and her kids/family and repeat them toward Michelle and their kids. Not necessarily for payback but to show a point. America is losing it’s soul.
Could you image if Obama was accused of incest the way Todd was? or Michelle being compared to herpes the way Sarah was the other day? or if someone said that their youngest should have been aborted or isn’t even Michelles? Oh wait, what if jokingly of course A Rod committed statutory rape against one of the Obama girls or someone called Michelle a slut, a bimbo or scary. Let’s not forget all the attacks that occurred during the campaign.
It makes my stomach turn just thinking about it because it is WRONG no matter what side is attacked.
Letterman is a pervert.
Ok, that’s my vent for now.
June 10, 2009 at 2:54 pm
thanks Hillbuzz.
we have heard the rallying cry.and we will respond,
LETS GET THIS PIG LETTERMAN FIRED.
maybe jailed.YOU BETCHA!!!!!!!!
June 10, 2009 at 3:00 pm
OT – Shepard Smith on Fox is covering this morning’s shooting at the Holocaust Museum in Washington. He is talking with a former FBI guy, and wanting to know how they tell when a person with crazy ideas on the internet crosses the line into violence.
Smith said this violence justifies the release by Homeland Security of the paper saying veterans may become domestic terrorists, and he also labeled people who want to know about BO’s birth certificate as crazy people who may cross the line into violence next.
I remember Smith from the election coverage – he also made disgusted, unbelieving faces whenever he reported something negative about Obama. I don’t know what his politics are, but I think when it comes to BO, anyway, he is a bot.
June 10, 2009 at 6:32 pm
i CANNOT STAND shep smith…ugh.

What’s with Shep and the makeup? He wears more the Kardashian girls AND their mom combined.

Child rape is not funny, Dave.
You should be fired now!
Pick on the children.
Does that make you feel big, Dave?
You are pathetic.

I posted them for you with a link to this page.
June 10, 2009 at 3:06 pm
Great job on this story, Hillbuzz. I am going to update my blog with some of this information.
I stand with the Palins.
June 10, 2009 at 3:11 pm
We also let it be known that we will NOT patronize Letterman’s guests from this point on. We won’t watch their TV shows. We won’t go to their movies. We won’t buy their CDs and their books. Associate with Letterman and we WILL NOT have anything more to do with you.
His guests this week (I’m giving Monday nite guests a pass) include:
Tuesday, June 9
Julia Roberts
Black Eyed Peas (CD, “THE E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies)”)
Wednesday, June 10
Stupid Human Tricks
Kathy Griffin (Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List)
Sonic Youth (CD, “The Eternal”)
Thursday, June 11
Denzel Washington (The Taking of Pelham 1, 2, 3)

Top Ten with Regis Philbin
Friday, June 12
Sandra Bullock (The Proposal)
Comedian Pete Correale
P.J. Harvey with John Parish (CD, “A Woman A Man Walked By”)
Let’s turn up the heat on this bastard. What he said was MUCH WORSE than what Imus said. He needs to lose his job or at least have a “time out” of several months. Bastard.
June 10, 2009 at 6:33 pm
NO PROBLEM boycotting Julia Roberts and Kathy Griffin! Even Denzel is starting to get on my nerves…
June 10, 2009 at 3:15 pm
Please note, Embassy Suites is NOT a sponsor of the David Letterman Show.
June 10, 2009 at 3:24 pm
Thank you for gathering and posting this information. I will call each and everyone of Letterman’s advertisers and tell them my family and I will not purchase their products unless Letterman offers a sincere apology to sarah Palin and her family.
June 10, 2009 at 3:27 pm
Embassy Suites says that they’re not a Letterman sponsor, just got an email from their press office.
June 10, 2009 at 3:42 pm
They were advertising on CBS’s home page for The Late Show. That’s sponsoring.
June 14, 2009 at 7:43 pm
It might be prudent to print out a screen shot of the Late Show’s webpage to point out their ads to back up your claim.

An email at Engelman’s is: marcy@engelmanandco.com
Remind them what we the consumers of this country did to Tom Cruises career, or the outfall from Christian Bales F-bomb tirade. I once watched a You Tube video about Julia stopping on the road to rip some poporazi a new hole for following and filming her and her kids in their mini suv. She was irate. So she only cares if other peoples kids get rape threats? Obviously I wish her kids no harm but come on Julia show you really are caring and tough and take a damn stand.
June 10, 2009 at 3:55 pm
‘buzzers, take it easy on LifeLock. Here’s the response that I got:
“At no time has LifeLock ever sponsored David Letterman or any other national CBS talk show. It is possible, however, that depending on where you live that your local station inserted one of our advertisements into an open slot. We have no control what these stations do with the open slot or where the station places our approved advertisement.
We appreciate your email and assure you again, that we have no affiliation with Mr. Letterman’s show.”
June 10, 2009 at 4:07 pm
That’s two now (Embassy Suites and Lifelock) who are claiming to have no affiliation with the show – despite ad placements that seem to suggest otherwise. If it is indeed out of their hands, it will be interesting to see if they specifically see to it that their ads NOT run during this show.
June 10, 2009 at 4:40 pm
Of course, maybe they just shouldn’t advertise on CBS. Period.
June 10, 2009 at 5:14 pm
Which is even better. You support CBS, you support Letterman. No stone should be left unturned and no excuses made. If CBS keeps them and sponsors pay them, then they are responsible. Period.
June 10, 2009 at 9:45 pm
What’s probably happening is that they DO advertise on Letterman but they don’t know it.
This happened last year with a company that bought a bloc of advertising (print, web) through a broker who buys the space. The advertising company doesn’t know where the ads are until someone (cue Hill buzz and many PUMAs) calls the company and says “boycott”.
Expect a release with that explanation from both these companies. Sooner if too much hell is raised.
June 10, 2009 at 5:14 pm
Since I worked in this industry, you guys need to understand that the LOCAL advertisers have NO control over the time placement of their ads.
They buy “lots” of time and the Network throws them on when they have space.
But the National companies DO get to choose, as they pay for a “late night” slot. And since we all know what show is on “late night”, they full well know their ad will show up during Letterman.
Either way, CBS is going to take notice, as they will probably LOSE advertisers who don’t want to take the chance that their product will be associated with Letterman.
Keep it up!
This isn’t a one day thing, and if you stop after one day the whole thing will disappear.
The key is consistently hitting them over and over, calling friends, having them join in with the campaign as well.
I had to work this afternoon, but I’m going back to emailing and writing letters.
That son-of-a bitch makes me want to puke and I want him to feel some pain.
June 10, 2009 at 4:12 pm
Letterman is sick, but I was also disgusted at the obtuseness of Contessa Brewer. Thank you Hillbuzzers and Hillbuzzees for the lists and info. I will gladly start tippy-tapping away at my keyboard to support this cause.
June 10, 2009 at 4:21 pm

It helped me reach all but one.
NOTE: The company’s are getting these letters. Just got a quick note from a company to inform me that they are not a sponsor. oooops. :)
June 10, 2009 at 5:28 pm
LES MOONVES is one to truly focus on. He is the bigwig.
June 10, 2009 at 4:31 pm
I work in advertising and one of the most efficient ways to purchase online ads is through ad-networks where a clients ad could run on one of a hundred different sites based on what other types of sites the computers user had visited (behavioral targeting).
However despicable Lettermans comments were, not every company whose web banners appear on the LateShow site are “sponsoring” his show or his network. They cannot control what sites they end up on…and it can also take some time to suspend any ads once a situation is brought to light.
June 10, 2009 at 4:37 pm
I know I have mentioned the new agenda here before. They are nonpartisan and will come to the aid of women who are the victim of any sexism and misogyny. It seems they have some things goin on over there.

June 10, 2009 at 4:55 pm
Thanks MichL. I’m glad to hear such an organisation exists.
But everyone, aren’t the Letterman comments beyond political comment? Isn’t it about time Michael Steele said something?

My pleasure! They really are a fantastic group that formed because of the media crap against women this political season.
June 10, 2009 at 4:50 pm
I just received letters from two different people from Lifelock saying that they are not a sponsor of the David Letterman show.
June 10, 2009 at 5:16 pm
Their banner add was on the home page of The Late Show, just like Embassy Suites. They may not specifically sponsor Mr. Letterman, but they do sponsor ads on CBS.com.
June 10, 2009 at 4:54 pm
Hi, everyone!
Thank you so much for the info–my e-mails are sent.
I know we’ll truly make a difference!
All the best,

So did I.
June 10, 2009 at 5:35 pm
Ask them if they buy advertising on CBS.com, because their banner was up there last night.
June 10, 2009 at 5:26 pm
I just called CBS around 6:30 EST, and the girl who was serving as operator sounded EXHAUSTED. When I asked to be transferred to the “Late Show” desk, she sighed and said the comment line was “all filled up” (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and that I should call tom. AM to talk to a live person. I will. Oh, I will.
She was polite to me, and I was polite to her, but tomorrow they will not be so lucky if I’m in the mood I’m in now.
I’m gonna give them hell. I know all of Hillbuzz will. Dave deserves hell for this. Enough is enough.

Here’s Sarah on the radio. I bet this was BEFORE her and Todd wrote their statements.
Man, this woman has class.
I would have lost it and started swearing….
June 12, 2009 at 5:26 am
She’s great. Reminding people of the purpose of the visit – including helping disabled people.
Would still like to see Todd deck Letterman, though. Live across the world.

Yes excellent. You know, I recenyly learned that there are analytics companies that measure ALL social media chatter about their client and report on the TONE of the conversation about the product and the customer experience. So if we start bad mouthing how these sponsors condone Letterman, it will show up on the reports (which anonymously track twitter, FB, blogs, forums, videos, etc).
Anyway, we also need FACEBOOK posts.
June 10, 2009 at 6:00 pm
Thanks for the list. I sent emails to the four CBS execs, as well as to the Mars Corp, Ancestor.com, and ebay. I don’t use the others, and felt contacting people I may actually have to stop dealing with was more “real” than saying I won’t deal with someone I never have. Letterman is sick, the audience was sick, and the executives who do not deal with it, are sickest of all. I think he truly “lusts in his heart” after Sarah, and maybe thinks kinky thoughts about both….sick, sick, sick. You know the drill, had a conservative talk show host talked about Michelle Obama, or their girls that way, he would have had to hire security. Letterman doesn’t even get a slap on the wrist. If I were A-Rod, I would mop the floor up with Letterman. He suggested Rodriguez would impregnate a 14 year old. Would Letterman think it was funny if someone suggested he was a pedophile, or if Hanitty said Michele Obama’s own taste in clothing was slutty?…Now that Michelle has personal trainers, makeup artist and people to select her clothes, she still comes off some days looking like she had a really bad night….but most of us usually decline to mention it.

Thanks HillBuzz for all the addresses and phone numbers.I have been phoning and e-mailing all day.I am so mad at what they are doing to Sarah and Willow and all females.
Mad and a little sad too that this is tolerated in our country.I hope we can get all the women and their supporters together and really make a difference.Thank you HillBuzz guys for being so supportive of women.I love you all.

Isn’t “flamboyance” a code word for absolutely awful?
Her outfit emphasizes all her bad points – namely her large, ungainly hips and thick waist. Does she not listen to whoever is advising her what to wear? No, of course, she would know best. I’d hate to be the person trying to tell her otherwise.

June 10, 2009 at 6:22 pm
Letterman’s remarks were also racist. To imply that a black professional baseball player would go after white jail bait is also a disgusting anti-black male trope.
I wonder if Rodriguez is annoyed at his name being used in this way. I hope he sues Letterman.
Deborah
June 10, 2009 at 6:58 pm
I didn’t think he was black, but he could be a latin-black mix.
I looked up his bio on mlb.com, and he’s got two little girls, one 4 and one a little over a year old.
I think if you could get him to comment off the record, he might have a few choice words for Letterdouche.
June 10, 2009 at 8:10 pm
I want to know what A-Rod thinks about the piggish statement. I wish he’d say something. As a baseball fanatic, I really, really don’t like the guy (steroids, plying the game the wrong way on a few occasions, etc.), but it’d do a helluva lot to win him some points with me (not that he really cares about that, or knows I exist, but still).
June 10, 2009 at 9:18 pm
Alex Rodriguez is Puerto Rican..and that half-assed apology was laughable. So according to Letterman, it’s not Ok to want a 14 year old raped, but an 18 year old being raped is fine and dandy. I don’t know who wrote that BS for Letterman to say but that was just HORRIBLE. Continue with the boycott, continue with the phone calls to CBS. I want his ass fired. Enough is enough of this. If a comedian wants to be funny, fine, be funny, but to want a child, a woman, I don’t care the age, to be raped, is not only disgusting but shows what has happened in our society regarding what is considered to be “funny.” Hit him where it hurts, in Letterman’s pocketbook as well as CBS
June 10, 2009 at 7:00 pm

Letterman’s bullcrap response is here:
http://news-briefs.ew.com/2009/06/david-letterman-responds-to-flap-over-sarah-palin-jokes.html
So, it’s ok to joke about raping an 18 year old. He’s essentially saying ‘my bad, I got the daughters confused.’
I’m even more outraged now!
June 10, 2009 at 8:01 pm
Nice try. He’s still a sexist pig. Take this to heart, my friends. Obviously raising a ruckus in the advertising world and the affiliates gets the attention of Mr. Letterman and CBS. Keep up the pressure.
June 10, 2009 at 8:11 pm
“Keep up the pressure.”
EXACTLY. Do not relent. Because they are counting on the fact that this will “blow over”. Prove them wrong.
June 11, 2009 at 8:26 am
Last p.m. on BO’R, the deeply sensitive Alan Colmes chuckled and – in his usual smarmy, patronizing manner – assured viewers that this would indeed “blow over” in a day or two. The remark was made by one of them that CBS won’t do anything to Letterman because too much $$$’s involved. Hope they’re wrong.
June 10, 2009 at 8:45 pm
What a BS response.
God, I hope Sarah says “HELL NO!!!!!” to an invite to appear on his show.
But she may go on just to confront that bully.
June 10, 2009 at 7:56 pm
Hi – I have been lurking today and sent a few letters to CBS and advertisers.
I just got a response back from Best Western:
Dear Lisa,
We have been inundated with e-mail today regarding this subject.
Unfortunately Best Western does not advertise on network TV. We only
advertise on Cable networks. Did you actually see our ad during the
David Letterman show?
Jamie Daer
Best Western Advertising
Was the Best Western ads in a panel on the website?
June 10, 2009 at 8:41 pm
I just received an email from Best Western. According to them, they do not advertise on network stations only cable. They have been inundated with emails today. Where did the info come for advertisers on David Letterman?
June 10, 2009 at 9:03 pm
Their banner ad was all over Dave’s home page on CBS.com last night.
They can say what they will, but if you don’t know what you are advertising on, you aren’t doing your job.
I understand that there is a lot of nuances to this advertising business, but if I owned a company I wouldn’t just willy nilly let my company’s name be on something and not have any control over it.
June 10, 2009 at 9:21 pm
I agree. I refuse to believe that they don’t know where their advertising banner is being posted. And if they don’t, then it’s time they spoke with CBS.
June 10, 2009 at 9:26 pm
I have to agree. I worked for a big company that had a whole PR and AD dept. that knew when and where their ads would see the most hits. Keep up the pressure.
June 10, 2009 at 9:43 pm
I’ve got screen shots of two different Best Western ads on the Late Night with Dave Letterman Show Top Ten page – the one featuring featuring the Palin Top 10. These aren’t random Google ads – not on a site like this.
June 10, 2009 at 9:45 pm
I’ll be recording the show tonight to check out the national (not local) advertisers. But I’ll Tivo it so I can skip the show and watch the commercials. LOL!
June 10, 2009 at 10:40 pm
Hi, watchful. I got a letter from Best Western also. “We have been inundated with e-mail today regarding this subject.
Unfortunately Best Western does not advertise on network TV. We only
advertise on Cable networks. Did you actually see our ad during the
David Letterman show?”
June 10, 2009 at 10:48 pm
They have ads on the Late Show website.
June 10, 2009 at 10:59 pm
BTW TXMom – I think you asked me about this on a previous thread, and I sincerely appreciate your caution. This last thing I want to do is falsely accuse any company of advertising with David Letterman, if they indeed are not. This is why I’ve been cross-checking the list originally posted by MizzouGal and backing up the proof with screen shots. I’ll also be recording the show tonight to check out the commercials.
June 10, 2009 at 11:19 pm
watchful, I don’t remember asking you about your lists on another thread; if I did, I apologize. The question: ” Did you actually see our ad during the David Letterman show?”
That was JAMIE DAER, Best Western Advertising asking ME that question in the note from him that I just posted. Please read it again. Maybe I was not clear. :)
June 10, 2009 at 11:26 pm
My bad – I thought you were asking! LOL. Clearly they’re feeling some pressure, don’t you think?
June 10, 2009 at 11:39 pm
It looks like Jamie is anyway. He said they are inundated with mail. GOOD! ha ha
June 11, 2009 at 2:04 am
Jamie Daer is a woman. I called their 800 number and asked for the advertising dept and got Ms. Daer’s voice mail…She called me back and we talked for a bit..She also told me that they only advertise on cable…
June 10, 2009 at 9:03 pm
Hello,
FYI
Best Western is not a sponsor of the David Lettermen show. They only advertise on the cable networks.
June 10, 2009 at 10:09 pm
See my note above about their ads on the Late Show website.
June 10, 2009 at 10:08 pm
thanks for posting this information. I have just written Mars, Emb.Suites and Best Western and advised that I sent this link to everyone in my email contact list asking them to examine their heart and if they feel as disgusted as I do about what he said then to write the advertisers of his show. Thank you again.

My response to Best Western’s e-mail informing me that they do not advertise on networks:
Dear Jamie,
Best Western had a banner ad on the CBS.com page of David Letterman’s show last night.
I mentioned in my initial e-mail: “I am sorry to see that your company advertises on CBS’ Late Show with David Letterman, either on the show or on his website.”
While Mr Letterman offered an off-hand excuse this evening about his “jokes” being about Gov Palin’s daughter Bristol (18) and not about Willow (14), it is disingenuous. First, it was publicized that Gov Palin would be at the game with her daughter WILLOW. That means Letterman’s staff was either too lazy to do research or didn’t care if it was a 14 year old, they just wanted to craft a joke at Gov Palin’s and her daughter’s expense.
Second, even if they did think it was the 18 year old Bristol in attendance – it is still inexcusable to attempt a joke about a politician’s child. Aren’t the children of politicians supposed to be “off limits”? President Obama said that back during the campaign.
Regardless, David Letterman made that joke about the daughter of Governor Palin who was at the Yankee’s game. And that daughter was WIllow, who is 14 years of age.
Still not satisfied. Not in the least bit.
Thank you,
Lisa
June 10, 2009 at 11:23 pm
Wow, Lisa. Your response is sooo much better than mine to Jamie. I think we are keeping Jamie a little busy, don’t you? ha ha
June 10, 2009 at 11:19 pm
Is this what Letterman calls an apology?
Smugly asking if he should apologize to the supposed rapist for raping a 14 year old.
Calling our second woman vice presidential candidate a slut!
Grinning and stuttering like a 12 year old.
Here’s a 60 yr old disfunctional alcolholic man, with a Bastard son, a mother fixation and a common law wife passing judgement on
a Christian woman who’s trying to run one of the biggest states in the union, while raising a family.
CBS and Letterman can kiss my ass. I’m not waiting for a call to boycott Letterman.
I’ll never watch his show again and if CBS does not demand a true apology from this radical left wing asshole I’ll boycot CBS as well.
His Palin jokes weren’t funny. They will never be funny.
They were disgusting and sophmoric.
Monakino
June 11, 2009 at 12:06 am
He never apologized..people on FreeRepublic posted what he said, he made more jokes, while half ass apologizing for what he said..not only that, but he has on Kathy Griffin(Another waste of human space) who said that Sarah was a “moron” and Todd was a “tool” which got a huge applause from the drones in the audience, ya know those kind of drones, the ones that would jump off the Sears Tower of their beloved Barack told them to..we gotta face facts people, this country as we know it is done. If Ronald Reagan were alive today, he wouldn’t recognize this country. I don’t recognize it. It might take 20 years to fix what the liberals have done

Rush’s last estimate to repair & turn around was 25 years, I believe. That’s assuming Benito gets another term, I think.
June 10, 2009 at 11:26 pm
If you want to go after advertisers that are related with children, then you need to contact World Vision International. They are advertising on Best Western’s web site. BW is a sponsor of Letterman.
June 10, 2009 at 11:38 pm
Is there a way to know which are national ads and which are local? There are so many. I’m typing this while David is speaking so as to NOT have to listen to him. I listened to the “apology” and it WAS NOT an apology — just another way for him to get laughs from the audience and make fun of Palin and her family more.

This is the worst thing I have ever seen on TV. This is worse than some of the stuff on pay channels like HBO. I have never seen anything so blatantly misogynic, perverse, and pedophilic. Letterman should retire immediately and slink away quickly and quietly into obscurity for the good of society.
I sent scathing complaint emails to the Letterman show, CBS, filed a FCC obscenity complaint, and sent this email to Mars Candy, Best Western hotels, and Hilton Hotels:
Please discontinue advertising during the David Letterman show. His recent comments about Sarah Palin’s 14 year-old daughter being raped and sought after for prostitution are so utterly beneath contempt that words cannot describe my disgust and horror. David Letterman has become toxic, and any company that associates with him or his show will suffer irreparable damage to their reputation.
Thank you.

I’ve posted this on previous posts, but I think it’s really important, so, to quote my best buds HB, “Listen up, because we’re only going to say this once (before we repeat ourselves again and again like we always do)”:
Contact your local CBS affiliate – the GM and the sales manager. Request a list of the local sponsors and let them know that you will be boycotting their businesses. Don’t let them get away with the “we don’t have any control over when our ads appear” crap. Yes they do! Particularly when stations are desperately trying to get every ad dollar they can because revenues are dropping like rocks, the local sales crews will be sure to let management know about the mood of the consumers. The same goes for national sponsors. They may not have been aware of their sponsorship before this – but they know now and they can pull the ads (on TV and the web) whenever they feel it’s in their best interest – like when it’s costing them more to keep the ads up than the ads are making for them. it’s all about profits, guys!
We have the power – keep up the pressure!
June 11, 2009 at 8:14 am
If CBS sells ads on their website and moves them all over the place, that means that Letterman’s comments taint the whole CBS network. This is even more of a problem for CBS. Make sure we stress to the advertisers we see online that they have to move all ad dollars from CBS.com or they will be brought down (in the eyes of their customers) by Letterman.
If I had ever watched the idiot, I would stop.

I’ll be doing some calling today. I really didn’t think it could get any worse than the porn film made with a Sarah imitator, and I really thought my outraged meter has reached its limit. It hasn’t. Rape is THE most henious crime committed and raping a child is reason to have the offender be castrated and possibly put up for the death penalty. Pedophilia ruins lives absolutely and not just the lives of the victim, but of all who love the victim. There’s a special place in Hell for rapists. Calling Letterman a foul pig would be an insult to the pig. And his excuse? He’s raised the age of acceptable “rape” to 18? Offal. He’s offal.
BTW, last week Playboy advocated the rape of at least two elected officials. I know the FBI investigates ANY threats against public officials. So does that joke of an attorney general have the FBI on the Playboy case? If not, why not? Write your Congressman on that one. Also, wouldn’t a threat against a public official’s child be against the law? Maybe we need to ask the FBI to investigate Letterman too.

Thank you for posting all this information. I have wrote my complaints to CBS already, however, I will not stop there.
David Letterman needs to be fired, period, no if’s and’s or but’s. This is unacceptable behavior. I do not care about political affiliation, although CBS in general is blatantly biased.
Enough is Enough. Advertisers, Letterman, CBS, and anyone who goes on that show will be boycotted.
Letterman is a sick pedifile!
June 11, 2009 at 10:29 am
Embassy Suites is not a sponsor or advertiser of the David Letterman show. Several online ads appeared on a series of web sites, including cbs.com, among many others. These ads have since been taken down. The appearance of the ads on the CBS network web site does not suggest we at Embassy Suites condone or agree with Mr. Letterman’s views or comments.
We sincerely appreciate your concern but want to reiterate again that we are NOT advertisers or sponsors of the David Letterman Show.
June 11, 2009 at 11:22 am
Ms. Ray ~
Thank you for responding on behalf of Embassy Suites. However, your disclaimer is disingenuous at best.
The appearance of your company’s name in conjunction with any product, service, or person does, in fact, constitute, at a minimum, approval of that entity and what it stands for. If Embassy Suites does not choose to be affiliated with a company and/or person who believes that pedophilia, rape of a minor child, or child prostitution is a laughing matter, your management should take immediate steps to remove all advertising on CBS until Mr. Letterman is properly punished for his inappropriate remarks.
Your brand – your good name – is totally your responsibility. There is an old saying, “lie down with dogs, get up with fleas”, that fits this situation. Any relationship between Embassy Suites and David Letterman paints your good name with his filth.

We need tar and feathers and a rail to ride him out of town on. Too many celebrities believe they are in a position to tell us “little people” what to think and how to vote and too many people are buying into that ridiculous mentality!
I will foolow up with the sponsers..I already hit the CBS site to complain.
June 11, 2009 at 12:20 pm
Dear Hillbuzz friends and family,
I can’t emphasize strongly enough, with Sebastian, C4P, and others, how important it is for folks to contact CBS, its local affiliates, and especially, the advertisers. It’s also important to be respectful of the folks you talk to, or write to. But hold their feet to the fire. I have been calling, and writing, and telling folks I will not patronize their product until and unless they take an unequivocal, strong, public stand, pulling all future ads from the Letterman show.
This is not a liberal issue. This is not a conservative issue. It is a matter of the survivability of civil discourse. The survivability of civil discourse, and the ability to offer divergent views from what appears to pass as the reigning orthodoxy, is essential to our survival as a democracy. There is that much at stake here.
And, as well, the wellbeing of our mothers, sisters, daughters, and those of our friends and family.
Thanks so much,
PCS

I know we all have our own style on composing letters to the sponsors, but I have a suggestion. Don’t get too worked up in your correspondence. Ask the sponor for their official position. Make them answer a question about a joke done in very poor taste.
If you are writing about David Letterman’s rape joke, it’s pretty obvious you aren’t going to congratulate the sponsor on their choice of advertising venue.
I’m not claiming to be perfect. Here is how I composed my email:
“What is the official position of Mars, Inc. regarding David Letterman’s rape joke about Gov. Palin’s 14 year-old daughter? Your response will greatly influence my future purchase decisions of your products. I look forward to your response.”
I think this may be a more honest way to contact sponsors, even if you have never used their product. I’ve never stayed at a Best Western hotel, for example, but their response will certainly influence future purchase decisions.
June 11, 2009 at 12:54 pm
Just called Mars and told them we would not longer buy their products as long as the supported David Letterman.
June 11, 2009 at 1:03 pm
Thanks so much for helping us to know what we can buy and still support American Values. Not only will we be avoiding the list of David Letterman’s sponsors but also any sponsor who advertises on television, radio, the internet or in print media. Let’s stand together and fight this menace.
June 11, 2009 at 1:15 pm
Will never watch David Letterman again had been a faithful watcher for years, even been to his Show twicw but never again, he has completely lost it CBS should let him go its time!!
June 11, 2009 at 1:24 pm
Two things: 1) I posted about this on Politico. They deleted the post. I posted about this at WaPo. They deleted the post. I used no foul language. and 2) I was at the grocery store and there were Mar’s bars at the checkout line. I brought up the subject of Mars supporting a pedophile, and the 3 people in line listened to me as I explained what Letterman did. The were outraged. And a black woman at the cash register was outraged that Letterman implied a black man would rape a 14 year old.
June 11, 2009 at 1:52 pm
this is a copy of a letter i sent to les moonves:
I found the remarks made by david letterman re Sarah Palin and her daughter completely reprehensible. I am the parent of young girls and if someone spoke about my daughters the way this talk show host spoke about Palin’s daughter I would have a serious issue with that person. More to the the point I would probably want to “take it outside” with that same person and continue that discussion. I will never buy a product that is advertised by letterman and will make it a point to ask my friends and family to be extra cognizant re products advertised on late night and the message that those sponsors approve, specifically the message that its ok to make jokes about a teen girl being raped / molested during her visit to NY. I will never watch this cretin again on TV, my family and i will never use or buy a product associated with or advertising via late night. It’s not a big deal to not watch letterman, lets face it: he’s ponderous. However I do believe there can be impact by letting advertisers and companies know why you will no longer buy their product or service, and will in fact, try to help their competition, because the competition doesn’t think jokes about women being sluts and teen girls being molested and raped are that entertaining.
June 11, 2009 at 1:58 pm
Thank you for bringing this important matter to our attention.
I can confirm to you that Ancestry.com is not an advertiser or sponsor of the CBS Late Show with David Letterman. It is unclear how the company’s name ended up on this list, but it appears to be a mistake.
We would appreciate your help in spreading the correct information.
Thanks,

CBS and MARS need to downsize starting with Letterman. Letterman is just another fat old disgusting white man with buck teeth that hates women. He is disgusting and so will be CBS and MARS if they don’t do something about this jerk. I have noticed on this website that even “potential advertisers” are distancing themselves from Letterman and CBS! Those are the folks we will support.

THIS IS A GREAT IDEA. I PLAN TO PASS THIS LIST ONTO MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS. I WILL BOYCOTT THE THREE COMPANIES THAT YOU HAVE SUGGESTED. IT IS ABOUT TIME ALL AMERICANS SAY “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH”. RAPE SHOULD NEVER BE THE SUBJECT OF HUMOR AND WOMEN SHOULD BE OUTRAGED BY LETTERMAN’S TASTELESS COMMENTS.

Here’s an e-mail I just sent:
“I was quite upset to learn that Wegman’s Pharmacy was among the sponsors of the David Letterman Show in the Washington DC area. Following Mr. Letterman’s foul and inappropriate remarks this week encouraging the rape of a 14 year old child, I would hope that Wegmans will be making every effort to ensure that all local and regional advertising on CBS and CBS.com is curtailed until the network dismisses or punishes Mr. Letterman.
I have the utmost respect for the Wegman’s name and business, and I know you would not knowingly participate in supporting such behavior. There is a movement afoot to boycott companies that allow their products to be associated with The Late Show or CBS, and I would hate to see Wegmans become part of that boycott.
I truly hope that Wegmans will be making a public statement regarding this important issue in the immediate future to reassure the public that you do not support pedophilia or misogyny.
Thank you.”

Huge thanks for the contacts. The ‘big 3′ companies are already mulling over my disgust, as well as those 4 cbs execs.
So far Best Western came back and said they don’t control the ad agency that places their ads. I replied that until they do get control, I’ll not be booking any of their hotels.
June 11, 2009 at 7:13 pm
I made a list of David Letterman’s sponsors. I will boycott their products immediately.
I don’t understand his comments since his own wife had their baby out of wedlock. How would he like it if everybody start making fun of having a baby at his age out of wedlock?
June 11, 2009 at 7:44 pm
Thanks for posting this. If it’s okay with you – I’d like to repost this (with credit to you) on MY blog. (HahaYoureDead.net) I already posted the information to contact the FCC and have sent the link to everyone I know. I want to do everything I can to make sure this perverted creep gets what he deserves.
Thank you!

Great job, HB! I love you guys. I sent the following email to Les et al today:
Dear sir and madams:
I wrote yesterday to voice my concern and anger about David Letterman’s “jokes” regarding Sarah Palin’s daughter. Today I write about his “explanation” last night with even more frustration.
Good grief! It was perhaps the most insincere and manipulative “explanation” of what occurred that I may have ever witnessed. Letterman’s “joke” about A-Rod “knocking up” Willow Palin was bad enough. To hear him explain that he meant “the other daughter” was painful. Does he believe it is grand erudite humor to joke about an 18 year old being “knocked up” by A-Rod? Ick. How about the truth and a proper apology? First and foremost, it was in every media [print, television, radio, internet] that it was Willow [14] accompanying her mother not Bristol [18]. That Bristol has been all over the country talking about her regret and the mistakes she made doesn’t ring a “fairness” bell with him? So Letterman and the researchers are what? Inept? Ignorant? Stupid? Pathetic? …all words Letterman has used to denigrate Gov. Palin. After last night’s “performance” and the three appalling shows this week, I can only deduce that Mr. Letterman is not only a sexist – [allusion: Palin dressing like a “slutty stewardess”] but indeed a misogynist extraordinaire and apparently has no qualms about it. I’m done with the show and if CBS doesn’t understand the seriousness of this – with the network as well. I have already contacted a few sponsors with my concerns, particularly our MARS Candy Co. here in NJ.
What a mess at CBS this past year. I stopped watching Katie when she seemed to go off the rails about Sarah Palin’s “fitness for office”. I gave her a lot of latitude when she was chosen for the job, thinking she was doing ok until I was surprised to watch her misread, misjudge, and mishandle the extraordinary gift she was given with the first interview by a woman anchor of the first woman Republican candidate for VP. Instead of using her people skills to draw Palin out, she seemed to be channeling a 14th century prosecutor with her questions and her body language. It was not pretty. And it was not an accurate picture she painted.

I have had CBS locked out of my satellite receiver for years. I can’t do any more to them directly; I can however start with those that support them. This is just about David Letterman, it’s about CBS.
June 11, 2009 at 9:59 pm
I will not watch the David Letterman show ever again and will boycott all sponsors until they drop their sponsorship of this show. Sexual exploitation of women of any age and joking about it is unacceptable. Joking about it while attempting an insincere apology is also unacceptable and insulting.
June 11, 2009 at 10:22 pm
Thanks for helping publish the names of the CBS advertisers. Last night the following ran ads on Lettermans show: Johnson and Johnson, with Listerine, Sam Sung, Zyrtec, Lincoln auto, AT and T, Target, Chase.com, makers of Actonel, Met life, makers of Centrum and an ad for the new movie, “Pelham 123.”. America, hold CBS accountable for Lettermans actions. They allowed Letterman to make jokes about the whole mess last night while they dubbed in the fake laughter. America stand up to bullying, even if its the networks. Thanks to all.

June 11, 2009 at 11:23 pm
Did any else know that David Letterman and CBS are close to a deal that would keep the late-night comic on the “Late Show” through 2012? This may explain why Letterman needs the ratings to go up. Unless we change channels HE may win after all. Talk about being sick……..
June 11, 2009 at 11:34 pm
To Letterman’s supporters: We aren’t stupid “Do you really think we don’t get jokes?” Of course the Palins and all of us know it was a joke. AND we didn’t like it. We are finally conducting business as attorneys would in court. Unless comedians learn to qualify everything they say, it will be turned around and used against them. Call it a political science workshop. We aren’t going to take it anymore!

Here’s a place to make comments at CBS and a sample of what you can say to them. Don’t copy word for word.
http://www.cbs.com/info/user_services/fb_global_form.php
Hello,
I wish to inform you that I am absolutely appalled by the David Letterman remarks about the Yankees’ baseball player raping the 14 year old daughter of Governor Sarah Palin. His comments are beyond sick, whether the daughter is 14, 18 or any other age. His nasty, disgusting attacks on public officials, children and women are not only sick but reprehensible and totally inexcusable, as well as, his lame attempt in a apology.
Shame on you CBS and shame on your sponsors who endorse such hatred and disgusting content.

I have sat here and read all the posts (minus a couple intruders) and am so proud and impressed with the unity that is going on here and elsewhere, like GretaWire. I work part time, but will make this my ‘other’ part time job, starting tomorrow. (I already wrote to some) I will get me a legal pad and pen/pencil and keep tract of who I email, write or call and any response. I read on one of the posts here that Mr. Alan Combs said, “This will blow over in a couple days.” LOLOL Ohhhh, really, Alan???? not this time Liberal Losers. Letterman’s foul toothless old mouth just gave us a HUGE open door and I am gonna ride this however long it takes to get him off the air, and send CBS a VERY STRONG message and also to the other lame excuses and BLIND networks that think their way of reporting and programming is the ‘new norm’ today. I have two daughter’s, one 19 and the other 24. I will be damned if I let Letterman or CBS get away with this. They bash one child, THEY HURT EVERY CHILD, EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very shortly, Old man letterman is gonna wish he never heard the name, Palin!!! Many times I have considered canceling my cable. Did a few yrs ago for a year. There is so much ‘crap’ in programming anymore, it really isn’t worth the monthly price. And…..the liberals have their filthy hands on just about everything anymore, even our Vote!!! ENOUGH ALREADY!!!! TIME TO TAKE AMERICA – MORALITY – BACK. WE ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO DO IT FOR OUR KIDS. THIS MESSAGE WILL EVEN REACH THE OVAL OFFICE DESK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(I believe there are 2 upcoming little ladies that live there, do they not???) Will be quite interesting to the response we get from there……
Thanks for this site and for each person taking a stand! Awesome!!!! Keep it up, day after day!!!!! (I want to see Alan combs eggy face) :-D Priceless!!!!! lol

As Conservatives we need to ban together. I don’t go to the movies any more. I am sick of all of Hollywood. I don’t watch tv shows such as SNL, David L., Jay Leno, etc. etc. I never watch the main stream news shows. We should all hit them where it hurts…their wallets. I’m sick of their liberal views. I think if they had their way we would all be in concentration camps. I wish the Hollywood Conservatives would stand up and ban together. I know a few have spoken out but we need more.

Hi everyone,
My husband and I have called, faxed and emailed as many Letterman sponsors as we could. Our complaints may not mean much, but we were compelled to stand up and try to protect innocent children and women in general, from being targets of vicious attacks by major TV networks and the so-called “comedians” they put in front of their cameras & broadcast to the world!
Here is some information/contacts:
1) Link to the FCC Form to file a formal complaint against CBS and David Letterman:
http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/cgb/fcc475B.cfm
SPONSORS:
2.Hellman’s Mayonnaise: 1-800-418-3275. They said they’ve had “a few calls”. Let’s get their phones ringing off the hook!
3.Nissan USA –Consumer Affairs: 800-647-7261 – then select 7; then select 4. They too said they have had a few calls and have now begun a formal “file”. Let’s fill it up!
Mars Candy: Phone: 908-852-8699 Fax:973-691-3829. We sent them a fax and so far, have not received any reply.
For too long we have been the “silent majority” and have watched the quality of network programming decline, DRAMATICALLY. We all need to step up and say ENOUGH!
Even one person can make a huge difference, please get involved…if you can do only one thing, then please file the complaint form with the FCC. (link above).

After careful consideration, I feel Alex Rodriguez has the same views as Letterman regarding the nasty comments made about Palin’s daughter. Perhaps it is time to hold A-Rod accountable for being conspicuously quiet on the subject. I feel that there should be a BOYCOTT of Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees until he makes a statement on how he feels about young girls being violated on national TV. Letterman used his name and one would think A-Rod would want people to know that he does NOT condone violating young girls. I know there are many people notifying sponsors of the Letterman show saying they will not purchase their products if Letterman does not apologize. Some feel he should be FIRED. Perhaps A-Rod and the Yankees should be contacted to say no comment or support for young girls and women… no money for you…
June 12, 2009 at 2:55 pm
A-Rod has enough to worry about with hitting when there are runners in scoring position. He doesn’t need to get mixed up in this.
June 12, 2009 at 4:01 pm
I agree. A-Rod should at least have the decency to come out and say that the comments Letterman made were out of line, he doesn’t appreciate being part of the joke, etc. I guess I can understand why he’d keep silent, but it’s the coward’s way, in my opinion.

If you REALLY want to make a statement, do NOT contact the advertisers and tell them that you will no longer buy their products. Contact them and let them know that you will no longer watch The Letterman Show! They know that most people never follow through with product boycotts, but hearing that their message is not going to be seen might make them redirect their ad dollars.
The gripe isn’t with the products, it’s with that jerk Letterman!
June 12, 2009 at 4:00 pm
Thanks for that suggestion. It’s very hard to boycott products. It’s very easy NOT to watch the creepy David Letterman.
June 12, 2009 at 3:58 pm
Thank you for this information! I hope and pray that the public outcry will be so overwhelming that pathetic David Letterman will never be able to work another day in his life.

Response from Sears. They have a banner ad on Letterman’s site so I sent an email.
Thank you for contacting Sears.com.
When advertising is purchased on television there is no intention of endorsing a specific show or any views expressed on it. Airtime and advertisements are routinely slotted to reach a broad cross section of the general public. In addition, viewers should not draw a correlation between specific programs and advertising time purchased.
Look for Great Ideas throughout the store and find Sears exclusive innovations from great brands like Sony, Kenmore, NordicTrack, Craftsman and Reebok.

I stand with Sarah Palin. David Letterman is a loser. I will boycott his sponsors also.
June 12, 2009 at 5:12 pm
Hi All: Notice how all of the advertisers have the same polished response, that they buy the ad slots well in advance and that they have, “no intention of endorsing a specific show or any views expressed on it.” All, these are buzz words meant to simply say, buzz off. We didn’t know, don’t know, and don’t care what the networks programs are. Here’s how to handle this, its all about due process. When you write or call the companies, tell them that if you see any NEW ads, ads that they could pull, then you will consider them to sanction the bad behavior on the network, thus you will not only boycott them you will suggest all the people you know to also boycott them. Good luck….

I replied to Sears and told them that their answer was not acceptable and that I do make a correlation. As if they can dictate how I should view things! I let them know that since I do control where my money goes I would not be purchasing appliances from them, renewing any appliance warranties or shopping at Land’s End. The last one will hurt a little, but it is worth it.

For anyone interested, the firedavidletterman group have sent this email message.
I am pleased to report that we have received enough volunteer
leader commitments from the now 2,253 people on this mailing list
to make a FIRM DECISION to go forward with a planned
FIRE DAVID LETTERMAN RALLY, currently scheduled to be held
from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm this Monday June 15 outside the
Ed Sullivan Theater, located at 1697 Broadway in New York City.
If you live anywhere within a 4 hour driving distance of
New York City, please plan on attending this event. Bring your
own signs (be creative but PG rated!). We will be announcing
more details over the weekend so stay tuned.
We need more volunteers to help our “Project Servant-Leaders”, so
please email me at michaelpatrickleahy@gmail.com if you can
provide some time.
Laureen Cummings has agreed to serve as our “Project Servant-
Leader” responsible for our Media Relations.
Marie Wilkinson and others have agreed to share “Project
Servant-Leader” responsibilities in the Social Media arena.
We have volunteers for our logistics and volunteer coordination
areas as well, and will be announcing the names of that
leadership group over the weekend.
Keep telling your friends on the internet and in person to
sign the letter to CBS asking them to fire David Letterman
at our website, http://www.firedavidletterman.com .
Two additional pieces of news to show that we and others are
already making some progress:
1. CBS has received so many negative comments about Letterman
they have shut down the comments section of their website.
2. A leading New York State Legislator, Brian Kolb, publicly
called today for CBS to fire Letterman.
Thanks for all your help.
Stay tuned for news over the weekend about how you can help
make this coming Monday’s “FIRE DAVID LETTERMAN RALLY”
a success !
Best Regards,
Michael Patrick Leahy

David Letterman/CBS’s broadcast of jokes that imply that a female minor is commonly available and willing to engage in illegal sex is against the law and endangers Sarah’s daughter. Letterman/CBS’s jokes slander and defame both mother and daughter and is grounds for a lawsuit. I filed an FCC complaint for the illegality, and I hope the Palins sue the pants off CBS and Letterman.
June 13, 2009 at 3:18 am
Don’t forget also, CBS has a STATUTORY mandate as an FCC licensed broadcaster, to broadcast “in the public interest”! Joking trivialization of minor/youth rape is most definitely COMPLETELY CONTRARY to the public interest.
This is sooooo beyond the pale. I get a sick feeling in my gut when I recall the howling laughter from the audience at a joke about child-rape. Where were the gasps of shock? This is a sickness that MUST be repelled!
Hit CBS as hard as you can. Get their very name associated with offensiveness.

June 13, 2009 at 8:22 am
Email doesn’t tie up their phone, do a thing. Call Call Call, then email. TIE UP THEIR PHONES
June 13, 2009 at 8:36 am
The left keeps saying Letterman was talking about the 18 year old. So, is rape of an 18 year old now ok? What difference does it make which daughter? Letterman is a pig and his sponsors should feel it. His show is scripted and taped in the afternoon. Plenty of time to rethink what you say. He meant what he said.
June 13, 2009 at 8:40 am
I want to thank you for compiling this list of advertisers. I have contacted each one and CBS and told them I would not continue to purchase their products as long as they continued to support Letterman. I also suggested that they use their influence to have him fired!
Thanks again. It’s time we conservatives stopped putting up with being treated like second class citizens.
FIGHT BACK!
Same goes with our next elections!
I’M MAD AS HE!! AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!

Hillbuzz:
It’s clear that Johnson & Johnson is one of DL’s top advertisers. They’ve run two commercials for each of the past three nights.
You might want to consider adding Johnson & Johnson to your top 3 target list – thus expanding it to a top 4 (I agree that it would be best to focus on just a few and will adjust my blog list accordingly).
Here are the national DL advertisers for the June 12th show (for those who would like to avoid them):
Microsoft (Bing)
Boston Market
Best Buy
Lexus
Icy Hot
Wyeth (Centrum Vitamins)
Chase Bank
Macy’s
Kia
T-Mobile
Cadillac
Johnson & Johnson (Aveeno and KY-Brand)
Merck (Rogaine)
Cricket
Samsung
Sanofi-Aventis (Ambien)
Mazda
Jet-Dry
Saturn

As far as I’m concerned the left is calling for an open season of sexual violence against conservative women and children. Letterman is just the latest of fat, left wing perverts to open his mouth. He is a sexual bully.
How they can claim to be embarrassed and ashamed that in order to protect the USA from terrorist 3 people were water-boarded, and yet laugh themselves silly over a child being raped is beyond me.
My question to CBS and Letterman is this: Now that you support raping a child too young to wear make up, can we look forward to no more “lipstick/pig” jokes?
June 13, 2009 at 3:34 pm
I emailed Kelloggs, Olive Garden, and Mars last night and already got a reply back from Olive Garden. I would boycott CBS, but I’ve been doing that now for over a year. Thanks for the list. I have a lot more writing.
June 16, 2009 at 12:24 pm
Olive Garden wrote back to me immediately as well.

Curves?!!!
Good grief… that business caters to and promotes women’s health and fitness!!! We must contact them. And contact them frequently. They, amongst many other advertisers should understand the wrath of the women who have been insulted over the years [especially Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton] and they should respond positively and quickly to that anger. I’m looking for their contact info and will contact today.
June 13, 2009 at 9:33 pm
Thank you for your work. Political satire is one thing. Letterman was and is way over the line on this one. The only way to insure political debate is healthy is for all sides to join in an effort to police decency standards.

Y’all are really twits. It’s the 18-year-old who would be the butt of the joke. You forgot she’s already had one baby?
Yeah, the joke was tasteless. Not as tasteless as the politics of Sarah Palin, but tasteless nevertheless.
Republicans’ call for censorship is way over the line, and reveals them for the fascists they are.
A tasteless joke that reveals the patent fascism of Sarah Palin? Sounds like a public service announcement to me.
June 14, 2009 at 5:07 pm
Why do you keep insisting that the remark was about the 18-year-old when she was not at the ball game??? Why do you insist that David Letterman has the right to free speech but I have no right to object to what he says? Who is the fascist??
June 14, 2009 at 7:31 pm
Hear! Hear! Dave is entitled to free speech, but he’s not entitled to a privately subsidized talk show. CBS is selling a product & we’re freely choosing not to buy it. It’s called free enterprise.
BTW, does Ed Darrell consider the Kos Kids who are boycotting Blue Dog Democrats & Hamas/Hezbullah/Fatah people boycotting Israel also to be fascists?
June 14, 2009 at 7:48 pm
“You forgot she’s already had one baby?”
So, if a woman is over 18 & has had a baby, she’s allowed to be serially sexually assaulted?
June 14, 2009 at 6:41 am
MAKE sure you pass this information along to as many people as possible — let them know that the effort is NOT futile — that people ARE speaking up. If we continue the fight and fight hard, Letterman will either have to issue a REAL apology or, better yet, get thrown off the air. I realize the latter is unlikely, but one can only hope! It would absolutly kill this bully to have to make an apology … I can’t even imagine him doing it without his arrogant cynicism. But if we keep this up, he’ll have to. DON’T GIVE UP .. SPREAD THE WORD!
June 14, 2009 at 8:45 am
Ed where is the difference betweem Imus and this? There is none…And I am not a Repug nor liberal excrement.
As for your closing remark even thou I dont know you or want to I have ‘friends” who are spincters. There is a big difference of talking like one and being one…

There has been a change in the date of the rally in New York to protest Letterman’s disgusting jokes about Sarah Palin and her daughter..
Here is the email with the info:
We have changed the date of the FIRE DAVID LETTERMAN RALLY from
Monday, June 15 to Tuesday, June 16.
The time and place remains the same: 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm on the
sidewalks outside of the Ed Sullivan Theater, which is located at
1697 Broadway in New York City.
If you live within a 4 hour drive of New York City, please make
an effort to attend this event. You can RSVP on our Facebook Event,
located at:
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?sid=fd6d71fa207c952b5bcc233e1bb63209&eid=110587311092&ref=search
Please bring your own signs (be creative but PG rated!) to the event.
Also, for the technologically oriented please bring:
1. Video cameras
2. Laptops equipped with Wi-Fi and Webcams
We are going to try and send out some live Video Skype of the
Tuesday event. If you are Video Skype capable, please
email your skype id to me at michaelpatrickleahy@gmail.com .
We want to see if we can your live feed of the event
to selected new media outlets.
You are one of more than 3,500 people who have signed the letter
we will be sending to CBS, telling them we won’t
be purchasing products sold by sponsors of David Letterman’s
Late Show until he is fired. Your help over the next
few days is critical to the success of this project.
Please take some time on Sunday to email all your friends and
invite those who live near New York City to attend
the Tuesday FIRE DAVID LETTERMAN RALLY. Also, please promote our
site http://www.firedavidletterman.com by tweets
on Twitter, phone calls to local talk radio hosts,
postings on your blogs, and comments on other websites and
blogs.
In addition, Monday should be a great day to call the talk radio
programs to promote the Tuesday rally. Wonder who will be the
first one on this list to make it on Rush Limbaugh, Sean
Hannity, or Glenn Beck?
I will personally be promoting the Tuesday event on Tammy Bruce’s
radio program Monday at 12:30 pm EDT, and don’t forget that
our own project colleague John Ziegler will be talking about the rally and other
breaking issues on Monday during his 11 am to 1 pm PDT radio program on
1260 AM, KGIL in Los Angeles.
Details of the Tuesday rally, including names of speakers,
will be announced at a press conference to be held in
New York City at 1 pm EDT on Monday. Laureen Cummings and
Gwendolyn Lindsey-Jackson will be speaking at the press
conference. In addition, we currently anticipate that a representative
of a New York City based women’s rights organization will also be
speaking at the press conference.
We have a great team to field press inquiries.
Gwendolyn Lindsey-Jackson, attorney, John Ziegler, radio talk show
host and producer of the documentary Media Malpractice, and
New York State Assemblyman Brian Kolb have all agreed
to be the “point people” to field press inquiries, effective immediately.
You can find their contact e-mails at our website,
http://www.firedavidletterman.com.
Gwendolyn Lindsey-Jackson, Laureen Cummings, and Anna Barone will serve
as our on-site leadership team during the rally itself on Tuesday.
Thanks for all your help ! If you have any ideas or suggestions,
please feel free to send me an email with your thoughts.
Best Regards,
Michael Patrick Leahy

June 14, 2009 at 4:21 pm
Hello All,
This was my response to the David Letterman show and Hellmann’s Mayonnaise:
“I REQUEST A RESPONSE FROM YOUR COMPANY TO THIS MESSAGE. I have recently learned that your company is a sponsor of the David Letterman show. As you are well aware, he recently made some disgusting comments about a 14 year old girl and gave what I consider to be a non-apology. I have purchased (just bought a jar last week as a matter of fact) Hellmann’s Mayonnaise for many years and love the product but I am sorry to say that I will no longer purchase your product because of the company’s association with the David Letterman show. As a woman, I found the so-called joke about this child being sexually violated by a grown man to be completely offensive to me and will no longer purchase any of your company’s products. I will also seek out other products made by your parent company and urge everyone I know to also boycott those products. This is really tough since I believe that Hellmann’s is the absolutely BEST commercially made mayonnnaise on the market. However, if your company thinks that it’s cool for David Letterman to imply that sex with a 14 year old child is funny I will no longer in good conscience be able to purchase ANY product produced by your company and will of course urge others to do the same.”
——–
This is not a left or right or center of politics issue in my opinion. It’s about standing against ANY mysoginistic remarks made by anyone, including so-called celebraties against women and girls, and the fact that the girl in question wasn’t 18 but 14 is absolutely no excuse.
June 14, 2009 at 5:54 pm
Excuse me Ed..the people of Alaska voted did they not, it is clear that they think she is qualified to be govenor, no more than the people who voted for a community organizer who isnt qualified to be president, my vote wasnt for this manchild nor McPain. Liberals are so scared of this woman why?
June 14, 2009 at 6:50 pm
ED, was writing this your big moment? There are qualities like common sense and being in touch that come into play here. This isn’t about politics when the people are writing about how they feel. I am a life long democrat with daughters..and to my husband and myself the comments went way over the line. The comments that letterman made would have and should have been out of order no matter who the woman was that he was referring to. All of us have a Mother ..sister or woman in the family. Do we not think more of them? When society starts finding remarks like this funny…we are in trouble.

Here is an email and press release I received a few minutes ago from the Fire David Letterman movement.
They are asking people to try and participate in the rally, call radio stations and send a press release
around to get the word out to local media…
1. If you live within a 4 hour drive of New York City, please
consider making a special effort to come to the FIRE DAVID LETTERMAN RALLY
in person on Tuesday.
2. Today, it’s very important that you try and take half an hour
or an hour of your time to call your local talk radio programs
and the national talk radio programs (Rush, Hannity, Glenn Beck)
and tell listening audiences about http://www.firedavidletterman.com
and the FIRE DAVID LETTERMAN RALLY in New York City on Tuesday.
3. Please forward the content of the press release below to any
local media (radio, newspapers, TV) and your entire email
contact list. Here it is:
http://www.FireDavidLetterman.com Announces Fire David Letterman Rally
Tuesday, 4:30 pm at Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City
Challenges New York City Chapter of NOW to Join Rally and Calls
for CBS to Fire David Letterman
NEW YORK—A diverse coalition of concerned citizens, whose website
is http://www.FireDavidLetterman.com, today announced a Fire David
Letterman Rally on Tuesday, June 16, from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm on
the sidewalks outside the Ed Sullivan Theater, located at
1697 Broadway in New York City. CBS films the Late Show with
David Letterman at the Ed Sullivan Theater. Tuesday’s show, hosted by
Letterman, will be taped at 5:30 pm, and will feature guest Michelle Pfeiffer.
Anna Barone, who worked for Hillary Clinton’s Presidential Campaign,
and later for Democrats for McCain, called on CBS CEO Les Moonves to
fire David Letterman for his sexist insults of both Alaska Governor
Sarah Palin and Palin’s 14 year old daughter.
“David Letterman’s disgraceful comments were a violation of
standards of common decency. They were as bad as the comments
Don Imus made that caused CBS to fire him in 2007. CBS needs to
apply the same standards to David Letterman they applied to Don Imus.”
John Ziegler, producer of the documentary film Media Malpractice,
called for representatives of the New York City Chapter of NOW
to join the rally, and for the group to call for CBS to fire David Letterman.
“In 2007 NOW called for the firing of Don Imus in a situation that
was far less egregious than what happened here. Are they once again
going to sell out their principles for politics? It is clear that
Letterman needs to be held accountable in some way for this and the
unprecedented media assault on the Palin family must end. ”
New York State Assemblyman Brian Kolb, who has already publicly
sent a letter to CBS CEO Les Moonves stating that CBS should fire
Letterman, is also one of the leaders of the Fire David Letterman Movement,
whose website is http://www.FireDavidLetterman.com
June 15, 2009 at 6:16 am
David Letterman has poor taste and weak humor. I suspect he is desperate for material…In targeting Sarah Palin & her family, it further underscores he is washed up and out of touch. Nobody, I mean nobody found his comments amusing. If anything, he has alienated folks, and his ratings & sponsors will suffer. Just wait and see!
June 15, 2009 at 11:30 am
I will be contacting all of the sponsers today.
Dave Letterman’s comments make me sick, and his constant attacks on the Palin family disturbs me. I believe that he is putting the children in danger and needs to be stopped.
I suggest you also go on the site to sign the firedavidletter.com petition.
Let’s get him off the air.

I wrote to sponsors, as well as making cc: to the CBS offices, just so they can see I wrote their sponsors. Olive Garden did respond to me within a day stating “Thank you for expressing your concerns about Olive Garden and allowing us an opportunity to respond.
We understand your concern about Mr. Letterman’s inappropriate comments. Olive Garden screens all network television programs and we plan schedules accordingly, especially in regard to shows with objectionable content. Some shows, like The David Letterman Show, are taped on a daily basis and there is not an opportunity to review the content prior to airing. The content of the dialogue on the June 8th show is not consistent with Olive Garden’s standards and values. We have joined many of our valued guests in voicing our concern to CBS, and we will adjust our plans accordingly as we have done in the past when such situations occur. Your feedback will certainly be taken into consideration as we review our future advertising schedule.
Again, thank you for contacting us with your comments, and we hope you will continue to think of Olive Garden as a place to visit with your family and friends.”
This isn’t just about the Palin family, it is about all the smut on CBS and all the lies and defamation they participate in. Hopefully, Sarah and her family will be the straw that broke the camel’s back and people will no longer be tolerant of this crap.

I’m appalled by David Letterman’s repulsive joke. Furthermore, I’m horrified that CBS would continue to endorse this behaviour (they haven’t fired him so apparently they think it’s fine).
Letterman’s “apparent apology” was weak. I’m sure he had thought through his “joke” prior to making it and kicked it around w/ writers, etc. who all probably concurred with it. His comment was demeaning and degrading to women and apparently that’s CBS’s take.
I hope the advertisers will do a better job of figuring out what they stand for and what they won’t allow.
June 16, 2009 at 8:58 am
Hi Hillbuzz:
Here are the national advertisers for the June 15th show:
Lincoln
Thermacare
AT&T
Miller Brewing
Sanofi-Aventis (Ambien)
Sears
Allstate
Hyundai
Mazda
Eli Lilly (Cialis)
Sears
McDonald’s
Best Buy
T-Mobile
Netflix
Johnson & Johnson (KY Brand)
DirecTV
Bristol-Myers Squibb (Abilify)
Proactiv
Burger King
Just for Men
Wendy’s
What I immediately noticed is that both Lexus and Wyeth didn’t run ads (and I haven’t seen any Lexus banner ads on the DL web pages for the past two days – although that may be a timing thing). Plus, it seemed like there was a lot more time given to local advertisers last night than they had last week – the next few days will confirm that.
June 16, 2009 at 6:33 pm
Hillbuzz:
I think I finally figured out what seemed so odd about the ads on the June 15th show (it’s been bugging me all day) – in my post above I noted that it seemed like there was more local advertising than normal.
Last week I noticed that the ad breaks during final 10-15 minutes of the show contained mostly local advertising; all the national ads ran during the first 45 minutes. During Monday’s big “apology” show, they sandwiched the apology segment (during the first 15 minutes) with local ads. They probably figured people would tune in for the apology and then tune out – thus, they attempted to shield the national advertisers from the controversy by running their ads well after the apology.
We’ll see if they flip the local ads back to the end of the show tonight.
June 17, 2009 at 10:19 am

I have just received an email back from Hellman’s and they have informed me they are pulling their ads for unilever products during The Late Show. Make sure to thank them for their family values :)
June 16, 2009 at 10:40 am
I have been telling people for years that the best way to stop offensive behavior from any media source is contact the advertisors and let them know that since they support such behavior we will no longer purchase their products or sevices and we will advise our sphere of influence to do the same. We do have the power to fight back, right in our wallets.

Letterman’s Costs CBS ‘Embassy Suites’ Advertising
Posted on June 15, 2009 by freemenow
This is not going away folks- don’t think for one moment we are going to let this one go! Snicker all you want – women have finally gotten the picture – men have finally joined the chorus, Americans have finally had enough and you know what? We have learned how to do this right. Just keep going till they hear you. If it was good enough for Imus and he said it once then apologized they can fire this filthy old dog who carried on night after night after night and never did apologize.
Letterman’s Palin Joke Costs CBS an Advertiser, Spawns Campaign for His Firing
June 16, 2009 at 12:32 pm
CBS has for years been going down the tubes; in the 1960’s they were conservative and actually canceled the Smothers Brothers show because they (the brothers) were spewing leftist garbage. Now the leftist children from the 1960’s are running the show at CBS. They did not even give fair coverage to the election, so I wonder how they will, in the long run, handle the pig Letterman. BTW he really makes my skin crawl.
June 16, 2009 at 8:50 pm
Is there a moraity clause in Letterman’s contract?
If so does CBS and the sponsors think this is moral?
June 16, 2009 at 8:58 pm
Letterman is disgusting. Never watched his show, and I don’t think I will after hearing (and watching) what he said with my own two ears and eyes.
Give the woman a damn apology and stop trying to make it funny.
June 16, 2009 at 11:09 pm
Screw Letterman… isn’t it time to contact ABC to let them know we’re setting up watch groups to track the sponsors of ABC that are about to televise obama’s pitch to socialize medicine without debate? I did… it’s easy: abc.com and click on contact us.
Embassy Suites already succumbed to the pressure of Letterman’s debacle.

I just left a product-boycott message on Kellogg’s website, in the “Great Ideas” area. I can’t afford to FedEx the Chairman but hopefully they check this comment section regularly. Here’s the link if you want to do the same.

Letterman should go & maybe child services should check out his kid(who knows what letterman has done to it). I don’t think anyone that has such little respect for our children should be allowed to have one in his house or within 200 yards of him. Letterman is a child abuser with words & so is any company sponsering him.

Very appreciative of the information on this site. I do not watch this disgusting, vulgar, pervert and misogynist making jokes about statutory rape and pedophilia, but am glad it was reported.
I sent emails to advertizers. Called the local CBS affiliate. They want no blame and urged a call to NY. That call was taken in a cold, disinterested way. In contrast, a call to Hellman’s was cordial and very positive.
Thank you all. Information is so important. It empowers us.

[...] Hillbuzz has been inspirational on the CBS advertiser thing. I think it is good to point out the error in what David Letterman stated but I think it is also equally important to remind women not to be inactive in their own lives.
A lot of women LATCH on to the victim role as opposed to rejecting any attempts to put them into that square.
Was he wrong, yes. But more should be made of Palin immediately putting him in his place.
women are stalked four times more than men are. On the web, there are Predators who target ONLY women. There are no reported Predators who target men because they assume those men will play victim.
Women have to wake up and refuse to be victims in their own lives. Take a cue from Palin and know when to tell some loud mouth to stop it.

Another sponsor has pulled advertising from David Letterman.
South West Airlines has pulled their advertising according to Fire David Letterman.com.
They must feel that his remarks about Sarah Palin, her daughter, baseball players and flight attendants was not that funny.

October 2, 2009 at 9:04 pm
Thanks for posting the sponsors. We need an accurate, updated list of his continuing sponsors because we fully intend to steer clear of their products. Letterman has no class and he’s not funny. When you have to continually attach people in the name of humor, you need to consider a new profession. His latest indiscretions will, hopefully, be enough to get rid of him once and for all!

I will contact advertisers of the Letterman Show and also this will include 14 adult members in my family and extended family. All were disugsted he was not removed after the remark made about Palin’s daughter. He is a disgusting low life.
October 4, 2009 at 7:33 pm
He has sex with interns, and he thinks the blackmailer is creepy? I urge everyone to keep the pressure up on those SOBs at CBS and ALL of the network’s advertisers, not just on his show.
October 5, 2009 at 11:04 am
The only way to stop a predatory person like Dave Letterman is in the pocket book. Please write or E-mail those companys that support Lettermans show ,that you and every person ,organization and family that you know will not buy there products. If you are responsible for getting items for youth fund raising please buy from companys that do not support Lettermans show. Together as one voice we can make a difference.
October 5, 2009 at 5:04 pm
Just proves that Sarah Palin was more right than probably she knew. Obviously, woman to him are objects to simply use for sex and demean. Then to make a joke of it and say the blackmailer is creepy. Disgusting & Dirty old man comes to mind. Haven’t watched Letterman for years now or CBS for that fact. Yet will be sending the emails again to the sponsors and CBS.
