Send a Noreen Fraser Foundation e-card for Mother's Day

Posted at May 9, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

timthumb.php

Thanks to Dana for this tip: here’s a great way to send a Mother’s Day e-card that also raises awareness for women’s cancers.

What makes these e-cards extra great is that Neil Patrick Harris did one, he of Doogie Howser adorableness all growed up into roughly 5’10″ and 160lbs of grade-A, Broadway-tune belting, suited-up, nine shades of wonderful.

We also secretly love NPH because, back in the 90s, he landed the role of Mark Cohen in the national touring company of RENT, which our friend Sebastian’s ex, David (he of the Asperger’s, cheating, prescription drug abusing, and mother Louella (the twice-divorced, publicly shamed adulteress and professional meddler) fame) was also up for (as David was a singer on cruise ships and in Las Vegas casinos who drove to LA on a lark and ended up making it all the way through the casting process, right up to the very end with only two finalists remaining). NPH beat David like a dirty, smelly old rug in the final casting round. Despite not meeting David until long after this happened, the fact David to this day believes NPH is his personal nemesis delights us immensely. Somewhere in Richmond Heights, Ohio, we picture Louella throwing mushy hard-boiled eggs at the TV, bloated-Elvis-style, whenever How I Met Your Mother comes on, or David crumpled into the fetal position mumbling “Could have been me! Could have been me! Could have been me!” if he’d ever wander accidentally into Sidetrack’s while Seasons of Love inopportunely plays.

You laugh, but David really does things like that. And all Louella eats are hard-boiled eggs, cottage cheese, vanilla yogurt, Cheerios, and other things that are exclusively white, beige, yellow, or bone colored (since she believes foods that are any other color are carcinogenous, making her a food-racist…and one with horrifically bad breathe at that).

Neil Patrick Harris, however, ROCKS!

If you haven't died from swine flu yet, go buy bacon and pork at the store this weekend while it is still DIRT CHEAP

Posted at May 9, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

song-chart-memes-out-proportion

The swine flu craziness of the past two weeks coincided perfectly with network sweeps. Now that this Nielsen period is over, the struggling news networks have suddenly started to lose interest in swine flu. Imagine that.

Meanwhile, our good friend Abbey back in Cleveland is making a Bacon Explosion this weekend, because she says “pork products are cheaper than I have ever seen them”, as an unintended consequence in swine flu fearmongering is a dramatic drop in bacon, ham, pork, and other porcine-related meat products.

Here in Chicago, we’ve been finding GREAT deals in the meat department, just like Abbey said.

So, if you have ever wanted to try a Bacon Explosion, now is surely the time to do it.

Thank you irresponsible, fearmongering, asinine mainstream media: two for one deals on more porkchops than we can possibly eat in a month and Bacon Explosions firing up all over the Midwest this weekend sure are almost worth all the terror you stuck into the hearts of the gullible the last few weeks.

What’s on your mind this weekend?

Here are a few things we’re thinking about that we’d like your thoughts on:

(1) Prior to 2008′s Iowa Caucus, we had never heard of ACORN before.  In the last few days, we’ve heard several people say they remember hearing about fraud ACORN committed years and years ago, in the 80s and 90s.  Some people are claiming ACORN only recently became an engine for such fraud, and what we truly consider to be a domestic terrorist organization committed to undermining American democracy.  When did you first hear about ACORN and what do you understand about the way it has behaved all these years and the things it has been involved in?  We’re trying to get a good feeling on how large of a problem this is, and how much ACORN has done to America already.

(2) What are your thoughts on Marion Barry’s remarks this week that equal spousal benefits for LGBTQ couples in Washington DC will lead to “civil war” in the black community?  We’ve got Sebastian working on an essay pursuant to this, and he’s heading down to the Southside of Chicago to talk to some black community leaders he knows to hear what they have to say, but we want to know what you think too.

(3) In honor of Mother’s Day, we’d love to hear what you appreciate most about your own moms or moms you have known in life, especially related to how these moms overcame the kinds of sexism and adversity thrust at moms like Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin.  If you’re lucky, you had a strong and determined woman in your life cut from this same cloth — and we would like to hear about her.  Robby’s in Mineral City this weekend visiting his mom Patricia, who’s promised to write-in about what she and the Coffee Club ladies think about Mother’s Day there.  It can be Mom-a-palooza around here for the next two days.

(4) We’d love to have you follow us on Twitter and Facebook if you haven’t “friended” us yet.  This way, you can get updates whenever we post a new piece.  We love it because we get to know you a lot better too, which is not only a lot of fun, but in the day since we joined Facebook we’ve gotten so many great ideas for new essays and strategies for taking down ACORN that we wish we had signed up for Facebook a long time ago.  And, if you do “friend” us, please suggest us as a friend to others you know who you believe would like reading us because we just love how easy it is to share ideas and get to know people through Facebook.

Reason we love Sarah Palin #5,867,900

Posted at May 8, 2009 by HillBuzz // Uncategorized

sarah-palin-soccer-hockey-mom-pit-bull

Now this, ladies and gentlemen (and “babes” as Rush Limbaugh calls us here), is how you Twitter.

Claire McCaskill, you could learn a thing or two from Sarah Palin (but, then again, Claire McCaskill could learn a thing or two from Sesame Street, so that’s stating the obvious).

Here was a Tweet Palin just sent through that made us snarf Vanilla Coke at the Caribou on Broadway when we read it:

“Great Day! Another frivilous ethics complaint against me was dismissed! I won against another false allegation, too.  More info to follow…”

Now, that’s not as much fun as when she says someone is asinine and calls them out for being fools, but this woman just HAS to run for president in 2012…it could very well be the most exciting and enjoyable campaign EVER.

It takes a lot of balls to hit back against all the nuts attacking her — and, as evidenced by the photo above, Palin’s got FOUR OF ‘EM, right there in front of her, where we imagine she does her Twittering.

Keep being yourself, Governor, and hitting back against the moonbats!

This photo cost $350,000 and we still don't know who was in the plane when it was taken

Posted at May 8, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

flyoverToday the White House released the above photo of Air Force One terrorizing New York a few weeks ago, at the cost of $350,000. This administration spends taxpayer money like HRH Princess Caroline of Kennedy at Bergdorf’s on Wednesdays when the new Hermes scarves hit the silk department.

Being Friday afternoon, when the White House drops bad news, it also fired an aide for this stunt, and the MSM now insists we must forget all of this ever happened, as the photo is out and someone has been fired for it (so the inconvenient fact that the White House did something this stupid no longer matters, you deadenders you).

But, honestly, we are more intrigued by all of this than ever (and will most likely have to get the amateur detectives of Mineral City on the case) — because if you look at the photo above, you’ll clearly see that it’s no different than many of the other photos of Air Force One that already exist.  Like this one over Mount Rushmore that, to our knowledge, caused no one to soil themselves while it was being taken:

AOneRushmore

In fact, there are much better shots of the plane in action than the Scare Force One shot.  It’s something you could even photoshop at home using basic skills as outlined here, in much more dramatic and interesting fashion that better captures the true spirit of The Golden Age of Hope and Change we live in.  Like this:

af1-10

If that doesn’t sum up what America will look like by the time Dr. Utopia leaves office, we don’t know what does.

The mendacity of the $350,000 Scare Force One shot has us more convinced than ever that Dr. Utopia’s big donors were on this plane, enjoying a ride on the presidential jet and a chance to giggle in plush leather seats on a once-in-a-lifetime flight while New Yorkers far below soiled themselves and battled coronaries believing 9/11 was happening all over again.

This unremarkable, though expensive photo, should make you wonder who was on that plane as it flew over New York.  It’s just not good enough of a picture to warrant everything that went into this.

Why couldn’t this photo shoot have been done on any of the many trips the President takes to New York each year?  SURELY that would have not been as expensive as scheduling this separate adventure.

And, once again, that makes us wonder who was on that plane as it buzzed Lady Liberty.

This is a question we need to keep asking…though the MSM is going to stop talking about this and insist there was an apology, a firing, and now it is time to move on.

But, what do you think?  Doesn’t this just seem so very suspicious…and the fact that the photo is so ordinary and similar to what already exists of 747s flying over New York just makes us think there is much, much more to the story than the White House and MSM is reporting.

HillBuzz on Facebook and Twitter

Posted at May 8, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

We’re slow on the uptake on some of this stuff, but today launched a Facebook page for HillBuzz, in addition to the Twitter account we have already set up.

If you are interested, friend us on both so you can get streaming updates through the day.  We’re trying to get into the habit of linking to new articles on both sites for people who have Facebook and Twitter living on their computer all day.  We don’t know if this will ultimately just be some kind of fad, or if we’ll all be Facebooking and Twittering forever, but we thought we would give it a try.

Here’s our Twitter page: Twitter.com/HillBuzz

Here’s our Facebook page: Hill Buzz

UPDATE:  We wish we had thought to do this a long time ago, because we’ve had such a great response and we’ve only had this Facebook page up for barely a day — but already we feel such a great connection with so many of you who’ve been regular readers, but not necessarily commenters.  It’s really humbling and amazing and we just are so happy to have this unique chance to see you all on Facebook.  We’re kind of at a loss for words, because we never had a way of knowing how many truly great people were stopping by here every day…and we can’t thank you enough for that.

So, we hope to see as many regulars as possible on Facebook as time goes on, because we have a feeling this added technology will help us do more cool things than we’ve ever been able to do, in ways that wordpress just isn’t set up for.  Twitter and Facebook add a little more work for us, but already we see that it will really be worth it.

IMPORTANT: The ACORN-8 to be on Glenn Beck tonight. Please watch and report in.

Posted at May 8, 2009 by HillBuzz // Uncategorized

We canceled our Cable so we won’t be able to catch this tonight when it first airs, but Glenn Beck will have on the ACORN-8 tonight.

These are former employees of domestic terrorist organization ACORN who somewhere along the line grew consciences and are now committed to dismantling ACORN and ensuring it doesn’t rise again, Hydra-style, in myriad other forms.

It’s the most important thing we’ve heard scheduled for broadast in MONTHS…please watch it, and then come to this thread and post your thoughts on it.

When YouTube clips are up, please post them as well.

We just can’t say enough how important it is for all of us to learn as much as we can about ACORN between now and 2010 so that we can hopefully bring this domestic terrorist group down before then, so they will not be vote rigging or undermining the security of our elections in the future.

On the TV show Alias, there was a terrorist group called SD6 that posed as an innocuous financial company called Credit Dauphine. And no one realized there was this vile beast working to destroy the US government, in a wholly under the radar office building somewhere, whose employees pretended to be regular people without terrorist agendas.

THAT’S what ACORN is.  They claim to be “community organizers” but they have a radical agenda to usurp the electoral process and rig every election they can.  It is imperative that as many people as possible out there become experts in ACORN.  Shedding light on these monsters will ultimately lead to their downfall.

PLEASE watch Glenn Beck, and keep thinking of ways that we can all work together to get the truth out about these domestic terrorists, more dangerous to democracy than Al Queda could ever be.

Why would anyone attack a little girl's lemonade stand? Oh, because she's Piper Palin, that's why.

Posted at May 8, 2009 by HillBuzz // Uncategorized

palin-piper-sarah

There’s something seriously wrong with people in the Pacific Northwest.

We’re sorry, but we have such a bad impression of people from Oregon upwards after the way they’ve behaved for the last several years.  This will make many of you out there angry, and cause you to go all nuts in comments, but we have just had enough of grinch stories coming out of Oregon, Washington, and Alaska. There has to be something in the water or the cherry pie, because there’s just too high a concentration of moonbats up there for it to be mere coincidence.

We have friends from Oregon who tell us the homeless run the state, and are like the sacred cows in India.  If anything you do as a taxpaying, employed, hard-working citizen in any way offends, disturbs, or interferes in the activities of the homeless, radical loons will shut down your business, picket your home, and generally drive you insane — for seemingly want of anything else better to do with themselves.

In Seattle, there’s Rabbi Elazar Bogomilsky, one of the truly most vile “religious” people in this country, who declared war on Christmas in 2005 and forced the Seattle airport to rip down its tree and all of its decorations because this particular grinch didn’t like any of the festive cheer (shame on him, and all grinches like him).

And now in Alaska, there’s another grinch named Chip Thoma who has qualified as our Most Terrible Person of the Week, for waging his own Bogomilsky-esqe war on…wait for it…wait for it…brace yourselves…PIPER PALIN’S LEMONADE STAND.

These people are out of their minds.

Thanks to the awesome and industrious www.Conservatives4Palin.com for catching this.

What’s interesting about grinches is the reaction we have to them.  Halloween and Pride are our two favorite holidays.  Most of us around here have some degree of seasonally-affected disorder in the gloom and doom of Midwestern winters, so by the time Christmas rolls around, our enthusiasm for decorating, dressing up in costumes, and celebrating anything is generally tapped out.  But, when that awful grinch Bogomilsky waged his politically-correct war on Christmas, it inspired us to deck every hall we had access to.  We went out the weekend we heard about the assault on Christmas and bought what became a whole closet full of Christmaspalooza.  Not “holiday”.  Not “Festivus”. CHRISTMAS.  The day after Thanksgiving, Buzzquarters looks like the shipping department of the Lillian Vernon winter catalog (since 2008, now complete with several hot pink “Hillary Trees”, decorated with ornaments we made during the campaign from blue Hillary stickers we placed on round blue bulbs we found at a thrift store for a dollar a box…and so we made like a hundred of them).

Because we live in a world where Elazar Bogomilsky actively tries to destroy Christmas, we need to be as ridiculously gay-appareled as possible every year (including, we are proud to say, July 25th of every year, when we dress up for “Christmas in July” in Boystown, which is one of the most fun times you can ever imagine).

And people like Chip Thoma, and all others who attack the Palins in the most ridiculous and bizarre ways imaginable, make us love the Palins even more.

Because, really, Piper Palin?  You set your attacks on an adorable little girl and her lemonade stand?  REALLY?  You have now stooped THAT LOW?

But, actually, these loons stopped that low on August 30th, the day after Palin was announced as the VP nominee, when the Left started spreading those vicious rumors about Trig Palin.  So, really, these people just sunk to those depths of depravity and stayed there, in an abyss where there is truly no further down these people can go.

Wherever that is, it’s a place filled with trolls, goblins, grinches, and bogomilskys.

Wretched, wretched things.

But, it’s really clear what these loons are doing, and that it’s most definitely being directed by the DNC:  Palin is a major threat and would defeat Dr. Utopia in 2012.  Therefore, Palin must be annihilated.  The reasoning is: just throw everything you have at her every day, sue her for something frivilous several times a day if you can, attack her famiy, her friends, and no  matter what she does, oppose her.  If she leaves the state the way every other Governor does to do business in Washington or attend other events she is invited to, ATTACK HER.  If she doesn’t attend something she is invited to, ATTACK HER, claiming she’s not promoting Alaska as a tourist destination.  If tourists start coming to Alaska to try to meet her or just see her (as we ourselves want to do this summer…and we never, ever had an urge to go all the way to Alasks before Sarah Palin was on our radar), ATTACK HER because she’s bringing too many people into the state and it is inconveniencing locals.

It remains to be seen how much Hillary Clinton is in Sarah Palin.

Clinton has been attacked for 17 years now on the national stage, and was maligned and berated as First Lady of Arkansas for many years before that.  So, for three decades, roughly, Clinton’s weathered all manner of nonsense, with hate mostly slung at her from the Right.

Palin might have had some of this in Alaskan politics, but the nonstop hate engines of the Left must be new to her, and are honestly worse than what the Right has ever leveled against Clinton.  For the most part, the Right always left Chelsea alone.  But, the Left attacks Bristol, Piper, and Trig on a daily basis (leaving Track and Willow alone for the most part, perhaps saving them in reserve for the years ahead).

Piper Palin is going to become something major in life — she’s one of those kids that just has a spark in her. She reminds us of an adventurous, precocious Nancy Drew/Pippi Longstocking that’s jumped to life out of a series of awesome mystery-solving, lemonade-selling, world traveling children’s books.  We saw her on stage with her mom at three separate campaign events and have never seen a child with that much natural ability and potential.  We hope Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin beat her to it, but honestly believe President Piper Palin will be our 50-something-th POTUS some day.

And don’t even get us started on the angel undercover that is Trig Palin — we adore the little guy, and happily took a punch to the face November 1st sticking up for him here in Boystown when Dr. Utopia’s followers were laughing at and making fun of him on the street and made the mistake of thinking we’d find them hilarious too.  And that was a punch to the face we’d take each and every day if we have to, because you will not make fun of special needs people in our presence and not be challenged for it. NOT ON OUR WATCH, LEFTIES.

But, our heart actually goes out to Brisol the most.  One of us here has a cousin who got pregnant at 18.  She was lucky, like Bristol, to have awesomely supportive parents, but unlike Bristol she had the benefit of anonymity and the ability to handle the responsibility of a child in private.  Between the lot of us here, we probably know 15 girls who had babies before they were 20 (and at least three guys who fathered children before they were 20 as well).  The media berates Bristol and gives Levi Johnston a platform to attack her and the Palins on a regular basis (but, inexplicably, Dr. Utopia’s surrogate, John Edwards, gets absolutely no such shame or interrogation for having his affair with Rielle ‘Lisa Druck’ Hunter, fathering little Francis Quinn Druck Hunter (Edwards), or using campaign funds illegally to cover up said affair and offspring). And this has to be Bristol’s life now, all because her mother DARED to run for national office…and because, more importantly, her mother is the only person we can currently see who would definitely defeat Dr. Utopia in 2012.

So, that’s what all of this is always about…leashing Sarah Palin…beating her and her family to the ground so she won’t seek national office…bankrupting this family to make it improbable, if not impossible, for them to mount a successful primary effort in 3 years, let alone a national campaign…attacking her with everything they’ve got so other women with families will forever be terrified of answering the call and standing for the highest executive offices in the land.

Seattle’s grinch Elazar Bogomilsky inspired a renewed love of Christmas in us.  Attacks on the Palins put us right back in the primaries revved up over the nonstop onslaught against Hillary Clinton, followed by the second round of sexism, hatred, and misogyny directed against Sarah Palin (and family).

Something needs to be done to make sure 2008 never happens to other female candidates again.  It’s not just little girls’ lemonade stands that are at stake here, but the entirety of Generation Hillary and Generation Sarah, who are all the little girls (and even grown women) who may now believe for the first time that yes, real change in Washington means viable female candidates for president and vice president EVERY four years, not once every generation or so.  Leftists don’t want that anymore than Bogomilskys want you to enjoy your Christmas tree and gingerbread cookies.

But, we won’t ever let those grinches take those away from us, and we won’t ever allow the Left to take aspiration away from good female candidates.

Not on our watch…and we hope not on yours, either.

ACORN got $53 million in government support from 1994-2009, but Dr. Utopia wants to give them $8 BILLION

Posted at May 8, 2009 by HillBuzz // Uncategorized

If this doesn’t terrify you, we don’t know what will, because when we read this, a chill ran up our spines the way we only thought happened to people in movies.

Literally, this shakes us to the core.

The current administration wants to give domestic terrorist organization ACORN $8 BILLION.

Previously, ACORN had only scammed $53 million from the federal government, between 1994-2008.

And that $53 million was enough to organize massive widespread voter fraud, intimidation, and other unsavory enterprises during the 2008 primaries and general election on behalf of longtime ACORN accomplice and benefactor, Dr. Utopia.

Just imagine what a domestic terrorist organization like ACORN can do to subvert and dismantle democracy with $8 BILLION.

Average Americans across the country need to get into the ACORN monitoring business.  We need to set up a plan of attack to bring ACORN down, and make sure that once it’s defeated, that it just doesn’t rebuild under a different name.  We’re at a critical juncture with this, because if ACORN gets that $8 billion, it will be here to stay, and would have the resources and army it needs to become Dr. Utopia’s well-funded, unstoppable goon squad.

If ACORN is not stopped, America is doomed.

We just don’t see how we can ever have a free and fair election in this country again if domestic terrorists in business to defraud the electoral system are funded with more money than they ever previously dreamed of.

Elections have consequences people: electing Dr. Utopia means funneling our national treasure into the coffers of the unsavory characters he has long embraced.

And the scariest thing is that this all feels like just the tip of the iceberg.

What can we all do together to stop it?  Ideas needed, please.
