Here’s what’s on my mind: The new Hope! Change! White House threatening to use the WH press corps to destroy the reputation of anyone who opposes them on anything:
(Oh, and Michelle Obama has to be the most un-graceful woman on the planet. Jackie O is going to start going all poltergeist on these people trying to convince us otherwise…)
All we will say in response to this is that it sure feels like the marketing campaigns that typically haunt Hollywood bombs: the worse the movie, the more hype the entertainment industry shovels at us. Those Star Wars prequels were TERRIBLE, but they made a fortune, the marketing machine was cranked up to the nth degree to pump everyone up about them, and only years later were people able to admit what tremendous garbage those films were.
Eventually, people will see the period of 2008-2012 as a crazy, addled mess. We wonder if the media will ever be able to recover from what they have wrought, and what they will continue to do for the next few years. Ultimately, people will catch on and see the media for what it is, and the current administration for what it is, and there will be consequences to pay.
John Edwards thought he would get away with everything.
Bill Richardson thought he would get away with everything.
Tom Daschle thought he would get away with everything.
Caroline and Ted Kennedy thought they would get away with everything.
People like Geithner and Sebelius have snuck through, and Claire McCaskill is still in the Senate, but ultimately we believe all of the people surrounding this administration that are no good will get theirs in the end, though do not ever expect those of us who knew this all along will ever be recognized for being ahead of that curve.
The thing that comforts me the most is that even with the media totally in the tank, ACORN pulling it’s best antics, and some people voting Dem just because they hated Bush so much… he still only won by a few points.
The Kool-Aid will lose its potency, people will wake up, and as you said, see this period as an addled mess.
Kind of like when you’ve been on a binge, and you wake up to a hangover… We’ve got a helluva hangover comin’!
I just hope he won’t have done so much damage that it can’t be undone…
There are people who will disagree with us, we’re sure, but we don’t think he can do enough damage in 4 years that whatever he’s done #45 can’t undo, whoever she ends up being. We also believe that no matter how much influence Soros has, or how much he thinks he will win and take America down, that there are people out there, whether they are the CIA, MI6, Mossad, or whomever, who won’t let that happen because of how much it will destabilize the world. We can’t help having the feeling that Soros may have overplayed his hand this time, and that he’s in the crosshairs for a heart attack or a car accident in the next year or so, should he get any ideas about making the world economic situation even worse for his own personal betterment.
We also think ACORN went too far in 2008.
Sort of like the employee at work who has been getting away with murder for the last few years, but was always just under the radar enough that the big bosses never noticed. Well, then one day that employee comes in really late, or something, and the big boss happens to notice, and then starts looking into that employee because now he or she is most certainly on the radar. And then it’s only a matter of time under this new microscope for that employee to be toast.
In this scenario, the big boss needs to be the American people, who were wholly unaware of ACORN until 2008. Many are still unaware now. So, that’s something we want to dedicate ourselves to: making ACORN known to every American, and flipping over all the rocks to show people how vile this organization really is, and what it’s really up to.
And then, in 2012, let’s see who wins, without ACORN up to its tricks, and the MSM fully discredited as a propaganda machine.
In regards to Soros overplaying his hand, apparently Glenn Beck recently saw him in a restaurant seated at the next table. He was talking about how the waiter told him Soros was there by whispering under his breath while going over appetizer options. He talked about how AWFUL Soros looks in person, like, call-an-ambulance-now bad.
Thanks for giving us HOPE, guys. The real kind! I do not know what I would do if I had not found your voice of sanity in all this brainwashing being done to our country. I can’t wait for your ACORN book. I want at least 10 copies!
The Obamas went out to a VERY EXPENSIVE RESTAURANT, probably the most expensive restaurant in town, on our Taxpayer Dollars. Everyone else is eating CHEAP while the Obamas are reaching into the stimulus till and taking money out to pay for MO’s $500 sneakers and Expensive dining. They are taking a playbook from Marie Antoinette, Let them Eat Cake!!!
As far as Soros is concerned, I am afraid much damage can be done by people who wish to do us harm. Look at what W. Bush did in 4 and then 8 years. It is amazing to see how far off the track we are in 8 short years, and with BOZO in the WH, I dread to think of what can be done. He can waste more trillions of our tax dollars and bankrupt the entire nation while he and his wife dine in every deluxe restaurant there is. Again, it is all about them, not the country. BO and MO do not care about us one iota (in my opinion). It’s all about his image, and making BO feel good for the first time in his life.
Did they FLY to their date night or go in Washington? If they flew to, say, Chicago, like they did on Valentine’s Day, add another $300,000 to the bill for taxpayers.
I guess having a full time chef staff at the White House just isn’t enough for them.
You have it pegged ….. the rest of us are supposed to tighten our belts so they can live like royalty. Perhaps we need to bring back the guillotine.
I’m no fan of hypocrisy or of overindulgence, but the President does earn a salary so it’s not like he’s dipping in to the public coffers every time he goes out. Also, I’m not so hot on the guillotine a-la French Revolution idea. One of the best things about the USA is that we have a system for smooth and peaceful power transition, even in a time of crisis (Nixon/Watergate). So I won’t be calling “off with their heads” unless there is literally no other choice.
I once heard that the more people have to show others how much they love each other the more they really don’t. Ever since I heard that whenever I see a couple being affectionate in public, I wonder what they are trying to prove to themselves. But, in this case, I tend to believe that they are putting on a show for the press than really enjoying a date night.
The humor isn’t in the product,[I find the idolatry quite unnerving] but the reviews that follow below. Creative geniuses with an Amazon reviewer account, have at it!
Seriously? Am I really seeing what I think I’m seeing? LOL That is just SCARY. That is scarier than the plates, coins, etc… I swear, this Obamamania is bigger than Beatlemania I think… I wonder if his mug is spattered on a lunch box? Hope. Change. Thermos! Anyway, I love the reviews! I just can’t believe that actually exists. I wonder how many people are actually buying it?
On that note, I’m considering changing my Bush countdown clock to an Obama clock by putting in Jan. 20, 2012! LOL yea, my friend sent me it for Christmas 2 years ago… at that time I couldn’t wait for 09, now I’m feeling like maybe I want those years back. LOL
To be fair-n-balanced, I will do something I rarely (OK, NEVER) do and praise MSNBC for Morning Joe’s EXCELLENT piece on Hillary this morning. I don’t know if there’s vid yet, but I hope some of you buzzers caught it. Even Andrea Mitchell played nice. It was all about what a great job she’s doing, how she looks like she’s having the time of her life, and her soaring popularity in the polls. Great, great piece to wake up to.
And this day in history: 30 years ago today, Margaret Thatcher became Britain’s first female Prime Minister.

we have our own site, so promoting other sites here isn’t what we are about. we don’t need to “hook up” with someone else when we are doing our own thing just fine, thanks.
I was referring to getting together with another group for the Tea Party Protest. That’s all.
I’m not promoting anyone’s site..well, except YOURS. I tell everyone I know to come here.
Sorry.
HillBuzz,
A modest suggestion for now or when you move to your new site.
You said you were doing a lot of reading lately, and I’m sure there are plenty of readers that frequent the blog.
It is very simple to become an Amazon Associate and to make money off whatever is sold at Amazon from a link on your site. https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/
I was thinking that similar to the Open Thread you could have a book discussion thread perhaps once a week where we talked about whatever we are reading. With the addition of the Amazon Associate link this could be a money maker for you.
Amazon Associate is a good idea, costs nothing to do and will give readers here a chance to easily find the books talked about here while giving HB a few pennies for their effort.
Lord knows I could use some new book suggestions, and the bunch that has coalesced on these comment threads is as good a group as I could think of to suggest some good books.
Plus it’d put some coin in the Treasury of the Buzz, a worthy endeavor to be sure.
In addition to attorney general Holder wanting to work with Spain to indict the Bush administration for terrorism, now there’s another issue today.
Obama & Geithner want to “close the loopholes” for US firms that do business overseas. In other words, make them pay taxes. This would be, in addition to the taxes they already pay in the foreign country. Statement like this is meant to incite taxpayer anger, cause it sounds like eeeevil companies are breaking the law. Problem? These companies abide by laws that were passed by Congress.
Gotta pay for all these Stimulus/Porkulus items, make up for half of the country’s deadbeat population who pay no taxes, fund Big Healthcare, etc., etc.
Quote from Newsmax:
“President Barack Obama plans to propose changes to tax policy certain to be unpopular with corporations with international divisions and individuals who use tax havens. Obama also plans to ask Congress for 800 new federal tax agents to enforce his broad requests.
“Obama’s two-piece plan, to be announced at the White House on Monday, would eliminate some tax deductions for companies that earn profits in countries with low tax rates, as well as consider U.S. citizens who use tax havens such as the Bahamas or Cayman Islands guilty of violating U.S. tax laws. If Obama wins congressional approval for the changes – and he faces a challenge on Capitol Hill – it could deliver $210 billion in tax revenue over the next decade.
“In exchange, Obama said he was willing to make permanent a research tax credit that was to expire at the end of the year and is popular with businesses. Officials estimate that making the tax credits permanent would cost taxpayers $74.5 billion over the next decade.
“Companies who shelter profits in international accounts stand to lose billions if Obama’s plan becomes law. Under the existing regulation, those companies pay taxes only if they bring the profits back to the U.S. If they keep the profits offshore, they can defer paying taxes indefinitely – and many do.
“Obama’s plan wouldn’t go into effect until 2011; Obama has said he does not want to tinker with tax revenues until his $787 billion stimulus plan has run its course. The proposals, however, were far from complete, and aides said this was just one piece of the administration’s plan for sweeping overhaul.”
I saw this today on Headline News. I told my husband it’s unbelievable that he would go after citizens and companies when he clearly has no problem appointing people to his cabinet who can’t seem to pay their own taxes. What a hypocrite.
I don’t know if this article is true or not. I fear it is. Reading this article makes me angry, scared and feeling the need to act to end this bad dream. If true, Obama must be impeached before the damage becomes irreversible.
So, my little one was watching cartoons and a commercial came on selling: Obama tennis shoes to celbrate the 100th day in office?? WTF?? and also if you buy the tennis shoes you get a free Obama bag to carry your Obama tennis shoes….???
When I see any magazines or books with a picture of BO and or MO I always cover them with something. If I ever see a cover depicting Swayze in this manner I will do the same thing. To advertise his torment is despicable beyond words.
Feds Will Spend $400,000 to Study Drinking and Sex Habits of Homosexuals in Argentina
(CNSNews.com) – The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is funding a study that will send researchers to six bars in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to interview both patrons and proprietors in an effort to discover what it is about those bars that may encourage homosexuals to drink and then have sex. The study, funded by U.S. taxpayers, began on Sept. 30, 2009 and runs through August 2010.
Who comes up with this stuff?
Going out on a limb here, but if there is one thing I would have in common with homosexuals is that I too like a night of good drinks and going home with a beautiful partner, even when I would do it for just one night.
Now that that riddle is solved, can I have my $50,000 now?
Someday when we’re standing at Our Father’s pearly gates, He’ll ask us why we should be entitled to come into His heaven. Of course, it’s nothing we did, it’s believing in His undeserved salvation. If He should happen to add,”So, what did you do with all the minutes, hours, days, months and years I gave you?”
Do you really wanna admit “Well, I went to Buenos Aires and got paid to drink heavily in bars and then have sex?”
When will BO run out of areas of life in which to intrude upon our rights????
Somehow, I missed this last Friday:
“OBAMA TO TAKE OVER ALL STUDENT LOANS”
Oh, oh, bankers. If you were getting a sizeable amount of business lending to strapped parents, well. . . Poof! Gone! Off the table.
Once again, BO knows best. Gee, do you think we could somehow remake the old ’50s show “Father Knows Best” into “Barry Knows Best?”
And once the folks have gotten a BO loan, who do you think they’ll be inspired to cast their votes for next election cycle??
Thinly veiled bribery . . .
Particulars of proposal next, then link to entire article:
“President Barack Obama on Friday renewed his call for the government to stop backing private loans to college students and replace them with direct financial aid to young people…
“The administration has pushed for federal financial aid to go directly to students, not to banks that lend money to students. Obama said he wants to eliminate the “middle men” lenders that he says add inefficiency to the system — “that’s a premium we cannot afford, not when we could be reinvesting that same money in our students, in our economy and in our country.”
The president’s proposal would switch the federal student loan system entirely to direct lending from the government.
Obama has claimed that the change would save at least $48 billion over the next 10 years — money that could be funneled to student aid…
Obama also noted the plan would be tough to pass.
“The banks and the lenders who have reaped a windfall from these subsidies have mobilized an army of lobbyists to try to keep things the way they are. They are gearing up for battle. So am I,” Obama said…
The Congressional Budget Office predicts that government debt will peak around 54 percent of GDP in 2011.
But Warren Buffett told CNBC Monday morning that the ratio could surpass 80 percent — unless there are significant spending cuts or tax increases.
At my Iowa tea party last month, Senator Charles Grassley told me EXACTLY the same thing. 80% . . . it’s coming if Oblahblah doesn’t change his tactics.
Remember during the 2008 campaign, when Meechelle & BO were making statements to the effect . . .”we need to have more doctors and social workers and not so many bankers & brokers.”
“We don’t want every single college grad with mathematical aptitude to become a derivatives trader,” Obama now says.
“We want some of them to go into engineering, and we want some of them to be going into computer design.”
President Obama says Wall Street will come to play a smaller role in the economy’s future.
“Wall Street will remain a big, important part of our economy, just as it was in the ’70s and the ’80s,” Obama tells The New York Times Magazine.
“It just won’t be half of our economy. And that means that more talent, more resources will be going to other sectors of the economy.”
He thinks that’s a positive development, because so many young people were entering the financial services sector at the expense of other industries.
Gee, maybe we’ll end up like the Soviet Union of days gone by. Didn’t they, too, make decisions who got to be a doctor, figure skater or mechanic??
The problem with planning anything on July 4th is that it is already such a big day, you will not get any publicity. With all the parades, fireworks, etc. the media will just focus on the usual, any kind of protest would just be lost. Besides, everyone is so wrapped up in their family gatherings, that it would be doubtful that you could get a lot of people out.
Why not do something on D-Day, June 6th? The D could stand for Democracy and we could call attention to how Americans have fought so hard for our freedoms and they are being taken from us while most of the country is besotted with the presidential teleprompter. I think we need to start talking about the Bill Of Rights and how we are losing them.
While in Bedford, VA over the weekend for a family funeral, we took a bit of time in the afternoon to tour the National D-Day Memorial. It was a moving experience for me, and it has a lot of open space surrounding it. Maybe enough for a large gathering. It is certainly larger than the space that hosted the Richmond tea party (jammed with over 3,000 people in the cold, rain.)
Chicago and many other large cities have their fireworks on the 3rd so the burbs can do the 4th. I just think any kind of protest on this holiday will be totally lost. How can we get a DDay thing going? We need to keep speaking up. Who was the big push behind the tea parties that we can contact?
It is even catchy-From T parties to D parties.
D as in the grade our government gets, if we are feeling generous
D as in defending our freedom on a day that celebrates the incredible bravery of Americans who died defending it
D as in Danger! Socialism ahead
etc, etc.

May 4, 2009 at 12:18 pm
Amazon Associate is a good idea, costs nothing to do and will give readers here a chance to easily find the books talked about here while giving HB a few pennies for their effort.

Great idear, FLMom-
Lord knows I could use some new book suggestions, and the bunch that has coalesced on these comment threads is as good a group as I could think of to suggest some good books.

This has absolutely nothing to do with any of the usual subjects discussed here.
But you asked what was on our minds today.
Something has been on my mind for over 24 hours and I can’t shake it.
Yesterday my friend and I were shopping at a local CVS.
We were waiting on the line to check out our goods.
While she was at the register, I found my eyes looking around at the papers and magazines.
I became focused on a front page photo of what appeared to be a skeleton.
I thought another mummy had been found and I picked up the paper to see.
As I brought it closer to my eyes, I gasped aloud!
My eyes filled with tears as I showed it to my friend.
The picture was of Patrick Swayzee.
It was obviously taken without his knowledge.
He hardly looked human.
I was so upset and started complaining to my friend louder than I should have:
“How could anyone do this?”
For money, of course!
From what I know about Patrick Swayzee, he has been dealing with his illness in a courageous and dignified manner that I can’t even comprehend.
When I think of the photographer who took this picure, I am disgusted!
When I think of the paper that published it, I am angry!
When I think of myself picking it up and showing it to my friend, I feel so guilty.
Thank you all for letting me rant.
Delle

It’s really sad about Swayze. He seems like a good guy. Our hearts go out to him. The media can be really tough on the wrong people, for sure.
May 4, 2009 at 5:17 pm
When I see any magazines or books with a picture of BO and or MO I always cover them with something. If I ever see a cover depicting Swayze in this manner I will do the same thing. To advertise his torment is despicable beyond words.
May 4, 2009 at 5:50 pm
I thought that I was the only one thst did that to BO and MO.
Whew, I’m not crazy!
May 4, 2009 at 7:47 pm
Delle, you are a thoroughly good and decent human being. Bless you a thousand times over.
Sending prayers and loving thoughts to Patrick Swayze and his family.

I find the following too bizarre to be serious:
Feds Will Spend $400,000 to Study Drinking and Sex Habits of Homosexuals in Argentina
(CNSNews.com) – The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is funding a study that will send researchers to six bars in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to interview both patrons and proprietors in an effort to discover what it is about those bars that may encourage homosexuals to drink and then have sex. The study, funded by U.S. taxpayers, began on Sept. 30, 2009 and runs through August 2010.
Who comes up with this stuff?
May 4, 2009 at 2:07 pm
Uh ….. *blink* ….. seriously? This is our tax dollars at work?
Sheesh …. the President could take Air Force One for a spin around the Statue of Liberty for that kind of money.
oh wait … he already did.
May 4, 2009 at 3:59 pm
Going out on a limb here, but if there is one thing I would have in common with homosexuals is that I too like a night of good drinks and going home with a beautiful partner, even when I would do it for just one night.
Now that that riddle is solved, can I have my $50,000 now?
May 4, 2009 at 4:17 pm
Oh.My.
May 4, 2009 at 4:51 pm
Of course no one wants to admit it, especially in front of Him. I’m just pointing out the ridiculous, by being ridiculous.
PS: Are they paying to go to Buenos Aires and to drink heavily? Or is it Rio?

Good video, thanks for putting it on hillbuzz. How sad to think we might lose Prager’s American Trinity.
May 4, 2009 at 7:53 pm
The Congressional Budget Office predicts that government debt will peak around 54 percent of GDP in 2011.
But Warren Buffett told CNBC Monday morning that the ratio could surpass 80 percent — unless there are significant spending cuts or tax increases.
At my Iowa tea party last month, Senator Charles Grassley told me EXACTLY the same thing. 80% . . . it’s coming if Oblahblah doesn’t change his tactics.
May 4, 2009 at 8:28 pm

Jana,
We’d love to do something big and creative for July 4th. We’re working on some ideas. Any good ones will be appreciated.
May 4, 2009 at 9:41 am
May 4, 2009 at 11:12 am
Enlightened idea, girlpower!
It also happens to be my birthday, so I could hold a combination party!
May 4, 2009 at 5:24 pm
While in Bedford, VA over the weekend for a family funeral, we took a bit of time in the afternoon to tour the National D-Day Memorial. It was a moving experience for me, and it has a lot of open space surrounding it. Maybe enough for a large gathering. It is certainly larger than the space that hosted the Richmond tea party (jammed with over 3,000 people in the cold, rain.)
May 4, 2009 at 9:05 pm
Yep, D-Day is a good one.
Or Friday the 3rd of July.
May 4, 2009 at 9:23 pm
Chicago and many other large cities have their fireworks on the 3rd so the burbs can do the 4th. I just think any kind of protest on this holiday will be totally lost. How can we get a DDay thing going? We need to keep speaking up. Who was the big push behind the tea parties that we can contact?
It is even catchy-From T parties to D parties.
D as in the grade our government gets, if we are feeling generous
D as in defending our freedom on a day that celebrates the incredible bravery of Americans who died defending it
D as in Danger! Socialism ahead
etc, etc.
May 4, 2009 at 9:40 pm
You’re not afraid of Keith Obamaman and Janine Gawdawfulho calling us D-bags? :-D
May 5, 2009 at 9:16 am
Only YOU would think of that! LOL
