This could be another clue that Ann Claire Williams will be announced for the Supreme Court by the end of the week

Posted at May 4, 2009 by HillBuzz // Uncategorized

This article is interesting for what it doesn’t say, and for the absolute insanity of asserting the current administration will announce a Supreme Court pick by the end of this week.

Dred Scott Reenactment

This really feels like the gamesmanship we noticed in the leadup to Sarah Palin’s announcement as McCain’s VP.  As early as June, we told you that it felt like Palin would be the nominee, since she was always included in the list of “potentials”, but deliberately never seemed to be up front in the pack, so that the Kool-Aid drinkers could savage Pawlenty, Romney, and others day in and day out.  And all the while Palin flew right under their radar, so that on August 29th when she was announced, all Hell broke loose as those idiots had nothing to say about her.  We will never, ever forget that morning — when we got woken up with phone calls from people who never, ever call us to say they heard a plane landed very early in the morning in Ohio that originated in Anchorage and a woman and a bunch of kids stepped off the plane, so we were right about Palin.

And the talking points and strategies ready for Romney and Pawlenty up on Daily Krazy and Moveon.nuts were all moot.

So, to us, it feels like loons like Judge Sotomayer and other oddballs from the University of Chicago are being floated, Romney and Pawlenty style, while Judge Ann Claire Williams cools her jets in the wings, Palin-style.

Just look at the picture up above and tell us if you DON’T get the feeling that you are looking at the next Supreme Court Justice in this remarkable woman.

Republicans wanting a fight over a loon will be sorely disappointed, and taken by surprise, which Rahm Emanuel might be using as a strategic weapon for a quick confirmation of Williams (who is, after all, a Reagan appointee, elevated by Clinton, who would now be sent to the Supreme Court by the current president).

A president who wants re-election in 2012 does not need to curry any favors with the Liberal moonbats who will never abandon him no matter what.  To win re-election, he will need moderates and crossover Republicans, which is whom Williams appeals to. He also needs a quick and easy confirmation so the MSM can continue its narrative of how wonderful, perfect, and unicorn-like he is in all things Dr. Utopia does.

Williams, by all accounts on the ground here in Chicago, is also a very nice woman, treats her staff and the attorneys before her well, and has as sound legal mind.  Sotomayer, the judge the MSM claims is the frontrunner, is about as crazy as it gets, berating her clerks and all who enter her orbit, being, it seems, as nasty as she wants to be.  The rest of the University of Chicago crowd also has similarly bad lapses in judgment, which will not make for a nice and easy hearing.

The current president wants to avoid a Harriet Meyers episode with someone from back home.  Though, we still don’t know if he will shoot the Court seat over to his old basketball buddy Deval Patrick, who looks like he’s increasingly in trouble in Massachusetts.  Patrick, you must remember, is another Axelrod creation, and in fact is actually Hope/Change Version 1.0 (most of the current president’s speeches, mottos, slogans, and marketing were field tested, Guerenica-style, with Patrick’s race for Governor before being deployed nationwide in 2008 for Dr. Utopia).

Will it be basketball buddy versus sound, easily-confirmed, qualified, moderate Williams?

We can’t help feeling that Williams is the one…the way we thought Palin was the one for so long before she was picked, or before Gillibrand was named to Clinton’s seat in the Senate.

The pick just makes so much sense on so many levels…though the MSM wants you to believe otherwise.

Great Merciful Zeus! Dubya raises $100 million in 100 days for his Presidential Library

Posted at May 4, 2009 by HillBuzz // Uncategorized

george-w-bushThis is interesting for several reasons:

(1) For anyone working remotely connected to nonprofits, you know what a terrible environment it is for fundraising.  Our Buzz brother Sebastian Gray is a nonprofit development consultant here in Chicago, and fundraises for educational and arts organizations.  In Chicago, many funding sources are depleted because of Mayor Daley’s Olympics bid push, but others untouched by that have dried up as big money’s fled Chicago for better tax districts in Wisconsin, Michigan, etc. In other cities, Sebastian’s friends report the same thing happening: money that was there less than a year ago, and could be regularly counted on, has just vanished.  It is a brutal time to be in development.  It’s stunning that Bush raised $100 million so quickly in a normal year, let alone in this economy.

(2) For a President who is supposedly a pariah or persona non grata this number is amazingly high, at a time when Bush has absolutley no political favors to give, has zero clout, is a constant punching bag for the new administration, and remains the butt of Jay Leno’s stale, chin garbled jokes. What’s the incentive to give money to Bush when he can’t do anything for you?  There’s an interesting book out by neurologist Jonah Lehrer called ‘How We Decide’ that addresses decision-making as not a rational process the way we fool ourselves to believe:  giving money, especially, is emotional in nature.  It’s not about what we can get in return generally speaking, but the feelings we have for the receiver of our largesse. This means that $100 million is, to a large degree, coming from people who miss having Dubya in office and who generally like the man on a very personal level.  That’s diametrically opposed to what the MSM would have us believe, and adds more credence to our firm belief that Bush will ultimately settle into the middle of the presidential pack, somewhere above his father but somewhere a few notches down from Bill Clinton.  All that ridiculous talk of Bush finding himself in the company of Harding, Hoover, Buchanan, and the like is wishful thinking on the part of the MSM, but won’t be the reality for historians.  In 20 years, the prosperous, democratic, stable and secure Iraq Bush envisioned will indeed be a reality, and will stand alongside Germany and Japan as stalwart American allies repurposed somewhat in our own image from the enemies of the past. Now, before you get all crazy in comments, we still do not believe there were WMDs in Iraq, and we believe Bush misled the nation by imagining they were there, sending his willing fool Colin Powell to the UN to lie about their existence.  We understand why Bush lied though, as he needed some excuse to go ahead with the transformation of Iraq for long-term US interests, and the WMDs ended up being that excuse.  IRAN would have been our target back in 2003, as it is the root of about 70% of terrorism in the world, and almost 100% of the threats to Israel.  But an American-Iranian War would have been brutal, costing tens of thousands of lives and endangering Israel in the crosshairs.  Bush took out the paper tiger of Saddam Hussein and had guts enough to sacrifice his personal popularity for the long-term benefit of Americans.  That took a lot of guts, even if most people do not understand it, and do not agree with it.  Someday, when you can vacation in Baghdad the way you do Berlin and Tokyo, and the stabilizing influence of the SECOND democracy in the Middle East, after Israel, brings great benefit to oil production, energy policy, and saftey worldwide, a man villainized in his day could very well be Trumanized in posterity.  Evidently, there are many who think this, or there would not have been $100 million given so fast to firmly establish his legacy in the form of his library.

(3) All of this money came in without any large push for it that we are aware of.  Since joining the McCain/Palin campaign, we started monitoring Republican sites, and have continued to do so more or less since the election.  We’re now on both Democrat and Republican fundraising lists.  We have never once been invited to any event for former President Bush and have never been asked to contribute anything for him.  But we hear from just about everyone else out there.  We have never caught so much as a whisper about a fundraiser being held anywhere for the Bush Library.  That’s absolutely amazing.  All that money was raised without the usual bull horns and cajoling that goes into a project like this.  We know for a FACT there was no event for Bush’s library here in Chicago, and there are deep, deep pockets here.  So this money came in with minimum effort, which is, once again, remarkable from  a development standpoint.

All of this is fascinating to us.

And it further underscores what we have told you many times before about Republicans we know and how they voted in 2008:  they just didn’t want a moderate candidate like McCain to win, and preferred to have a Jimmy Carter Part Deux so they could swing back with a new Reagan in 2012.  That person will NOT be Mitt Romney, Bobby Jindal, or Charlie Crist.  All of them are nice men, exorcists, or orange transvestites, as the case may be, but if so much money is being poured into Bush’s legacy, with such wild enthusiasm, and said enthusiasm was lacking for a GOP candidate who sought to distance himself from Bush the way McCain did, then it sure feels like a winning GOP candidate will be of the He-Man, outdoorsy, plain-spoken, salt-of-the-Earth variety that Bush and Reagan before him patented so well…and a certain Governor of Alaska gives a fresh spin to, you betcha.

If Bush seemingly forced the electorate to swing wildly to the Left with the current president, Dr. Utopia, then these four years in The Golden Age of Hope and Change will themselves force a swing towards the conservative spectrum, and Romney’s just not going to be man enough to be the vanguard that’s needed.  That man’s going to actually be someone in a dress…and it sure as heck won’t be Charlie Crist (as much as he would like it to be).

Domestic terrorist organization ACORN charged with 39 felonies in Nevada

Posted at May 4, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

ACORN is the greatest threat to our democracy that exists in this country.  Nevada is taking it seriously, charging the domestic terrorist organization with 39 felonies.

What constitutes a domestic terrorist organization?

(1) An organization that seeks to undermine the rule of law and United States government.  CHECK

(2) An organization, funded in secret, that deliberately engaged in activities to commit voter fraud and unfairly and unethically alter the course of American elections.  CHECK

(3) An organization that seeks to, by its activities, create chaos and bedlem to disrupt the natural outcome of elections and other political processes.  CHECK

We’re sure you can think of more on your own, but ACORN is as dangerous as any other terrorist organization — and it has its own army that may not use bombs or guns, but certainly uses violence and threats of violence to achieve its aims.

We continue to urge you to find out as much about ACORN as possible and tell everyone you know about this threat.  What’s happening in Nevada is encouraging, but it’s an attack on just one tiny, malformed head on a monstrous, venom-dripping, beastly Hydra of democracy-killing, serpentine, “community organizing”, domestic terrorism.

Each day, learn a little bit more about ACORN, tell your friends about them, and start putting pressure on all elected officials to shut this organization down once and for all, by 2012 if we can make that happen.

Preview of the anti-secrecy lawsuits that should hit DC in the next few years

Posted at May 4, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Please read this article in full from the Chicago Tribune today.

Come back here when you are done — it is that important.

The reason being is that many of the people who learned their behavior here in Chicago have now moved to Washington DC, and the tricks they all pulled to keep their activities and spending secret while in Illinois will be well-employed at the White House and in other government departments like Education and Transportation, where billions and billions of dollars will be sunk into secret, pet projects that we believe will all lead to ACORN in some way or another.

Electing a product of Daley’s Chicago Machine to the White House means Daly’s Chicago Machine and its particular way of operating is no longer just a Chicago problem, but is in fact a national problem now.

Most people have no idea what we are in for, or even why this is a bad thing.

But, the article above details the frustration felt, and all the energy expended, by those trying to force the fiefdom of Chicago’s imperial Mayor to comply with open-secrets legislation and shine lights on the shadowy world of Chicago politics.  It will take a few years, but we can’t imagine this sort of article NOT being written on a national scope, as the White House under the current president no doubt becomes the most secretive and shadowy in history — despite all the promises that it would be the most transparent.

Yah, about as transparent as the Chicago River.

Just watch…this article is a prescient peek into things to come.

Former Secretary of State Rice Smacks Down Heckler

Posted at May 4, 2009 by HillBuzz // Uncategorized

Wouldn’t she be great to replace Boxer in the Senate next year?

It doesn’t seem like Secretary Rice has any political ambitions, but she sure is impressive in this clip above.

We especially love at the 4 minute or so mark where she calls the Obot “dear”, and then later when she tells him to do his homework first before coming after someone like her, without having any idea what he’s talking about.

And, of course, like cliche Leftist that he is, he breaks Godwin’s Law and starts talking about Hitler…and Rice smacks him down for being out of his depth arguing history with a former Secretary of State.

Rice is someone we’ve never met, and doubt we’ll ever have the chance to meet her, but man alive, does this woman need to be in elected office.
