What’s on your mind today?
We actually have many friends living in New York City, at least two of whom were looking up at the sky as one of the President’s Boeing 747’s appeared to come out of nowhere on what appeared to be a collision course with the Statue of Liberty. One of our friends freely admits to, in her own words, “soiling herself” in the very literal sense, believing 9/11 was happening again because, in her own words again, “Obama has been taking the side of terrorists and not doing anything to stop an attack”.
People running through the streets crying, soiling themselves, believing we’re under attack again.
Welcome to the Golden Age of Hope and Change, already in progress…for EXACTLY 100 Days today.
So, have you gotten your unicorn yet? Is it fair to finally ask the Hopemeister to deliver on all of his many, many promises? Because he is biracial, should he instead be judged not by his first hundred days, but on some sort of curve of the media’s own design?
What think you?
Personally, we still can’t get over the audacity of actually having a 747 fly erratically into New York, in plan site, in what appeared to be another hijacked attack. There are people who witnessed 9/11 who will never be the same again. When the small plan carrying a baseball player slammed into a high rise a few years back, people went running through the streets screaming and crying again. When a sewer line burst and volcanic-level steam burst from the ground down Second Avene (we believe) three years or so ago, people thought that was terrorists. When a building at 51st and second imploded because of shoddy construction, once again, people thought terrorists were to blame.
Knowing all of this, the President of the United States thought it was a great idea to take some great publicity shots for his own personal use, so he had one of his planes scare the absolute, literal, fill-in-the-blank, out of New Yorks.
Unbelievable.
Or more aptly, it’s what our teachers used to call foreshadowing. For, going all the way back to Cassandra at Troy, colossal disasters are presaged by the smaller-scale hubris of the vain and narcisisstic: being so painfully myopic about a photo open identifies fatal flaws in an administration we do not believe will take seriously enough the chatter and background noise that could prevent another attack on this nation. We hope for Heaven’s sake we are wrong, but we truly do believe this President is having so much fun with his celebrity and all the many perks of his “historic presidency” that he and his staff are now completely removed from reality.
Not realizing buzzing New York with a massive jet plane would cause many New Yorkers to head home for a change of undies is a sure indication of a deep, lasting, permanent, terrifying flaw in the abilities and competence of this administration. Evidence keeps coming out that the White House was directly warned by New York officials that its plan would cause mass chaos and emotional distress, but the current President chose to do this needless and expensive photo op anyway.
Welcome to Hope and Change, people.
We hate to say this again, but it’s only going to get worse from here, too.
April 29, 2009 at 2:52 am
And all they had to do for this “photo op”, was to create it on a computer. They did it on Fox, tonight. And why do they need this particular photo, anyway…???
Do it by computer, spend a few minutes OR do it real life, and cost 1/3 million dollars of taxpayer money.
He is either totally incapable of gauging people’s feelings – or he doesn’t know the value of a dollar (and then most certainly should not be in charge of any) – or both…
April 29, 2009 at 8:20 am
Amen!
April 29, 2009 at 8:29 am
Or, he just doesn’t care. “I won,” dontcha know?
April 29, 2009 at 2:45 pm
he doesn’t care..not one little bit
April 29, 2009 at 10:51 am
It cost $328,835
And Obama claims he has no idea. he claimed that about Ayres and Wright. Is he stupid or is he a liar? ever which he should not be President
April 29, 2009 at 3:20 pm
Think about the CARBON FOOT PRINT on that baby!
April 29, 2009 at 3:53 pm
For being the “smartest President EVER” he sure has no idea about a lot of things.
My money is on liar.
April 29, 2009 at 3:19 pm
You expect the O-Bin Admin to be able to use a computer?????????????????????
That with interfere with the talking out of both sides of their mouth at the same time.
April 29, 2009 at 3:21 pm
It was a damn political stunt for OBAMA POLITICAL SUPPORTERS!
“Sources said the reason for the stunt was to create souvenir pictures of a customized Boeing 747, which serves as Air Force One when the president is aboard. Photos of the plane flying over the Statue of Liberty were to be given out to family, friends or supporters.”

This link does not work. Do you think someone is protecting Oshit?
April 29, 2009 at 3:38 am
I do not believe the “photo op” story for ONE MINUTE. Nope. LIES and more lies. I do not pretend to know what the “truth” is. I just know I (we) have been LIED to. Again.
Oh and just where was the other f-16? And who was s’posedly taking the picture?
Barry Soetoro did this because he could.
I am pretty sure all his friends and family abroad enjoyed The Show.
PHUCKER.
April 29, 2009 at 7:37 am
I think PBO wanted to recreate 9/11 right down to the panic in the streets either for someone on board or as a film for his “friends and family” in the Middle East. Since the Saudi King couldn’t be there for the real event…this was Bambi’s gift to him.
April 29, 2009 at 10:41 am
Being a child of the X Files era, I am good at developing conspiracy theories myself. HOWEVER, you give Obama too much credit. He is indeed just plain shallow and narcissistic! There is nothing deeper going on there. I think the purpose was to just capture a photo-op with AF1 b/c the prior background was not tied to the well-known liberty landmark.
The reason I also say this is that if they WERE covering for something else, then MORE thinking and planning would go into the mission. At which point someone would’ve said, “But even if it’s top secret, someone will see it. We have to come up with a plausible explanation…hey! let’s tell every New Yorker that we’re doing a photo op or a training mission! They’d snicker but be none the wiser!”
As it is, there was little thinking that went into it. BTW, I think this is the photo they’re trying to replace…someone else posted the link.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/about/air_force_one/
Total cost? About a $300,000+ tribute to vanity.
BTW, I am a New Yorker and boy, I was SO ANGRY!
And I agree with HB, totally true, it’s a foreshadowing. But it’s good at least New Yorkers are looking with more critical eye at Obama, today, on his 100 day.
April 29, 2009 at 11:42 am
Vidsweet said: “But it’s good at least New Yorkers are looking with more critical eye at Obama, today, on his 100 day.”
I say: I certainly hope so. I’ve been pretty disappointed with my NY-NJ homegirls’ and -boys’ support of the One. We are much, much sharper than THAT!

BTW, I am one who cried (for those New Yorkers) just watching the video.
April 29, 2009 at 8:54 am
That was very sad to see and it shouldn’t have happened.
April 29, 2009 at 5:06 am
I`m sorry, I honestly feel that these spoiled brat elitists in the White House need a well deserved beating!
April 29, 2009 at 1:47 pm
The Obama administration continues to make blunder after blunder, apologise then go on their merry way. So we are to beleive that the government will be able to improve banks, carmakers and health care based on the performance so far?
April 29, 2009 at 5:12 am
I’m with JB—if you think about it for more than ten seconds, the “photo op” story just doesn’t make any sense. No sense at all.
I haven’t heard anyone ask who was ON that 747. Was Maobama giving “special friends” of one sort or another a tour and thrill ride at taxpayer expense?
Whatever the story turns out to be, the whole fiasco was at the very least incompetence at a criminal level.
April 29, 2009 at 5:33 am
First, why would anyone care to see a photo of Air Force One, and given the cost…not just the monetary cost but the cost in the abject fear they generated, it was rude, insensitive, and downright arrogant. Second, if it was a shock to Obama and he was “furious”, why haven’t we heard of the people involved being either fired or demoted? The whole thing smells of some sort of mind game.
April 29, 2009 at 3:27 pm
Joanne – “it was rude, insensitive, and downright arrogant.”
Just like Obama’s Southern Plantation stage set in Denver last year.
He did it because he can – and because he has no education in American Hertory.
April 29, 2009 at 7:41 pm
He won, remember?
April 29, 2009 at 5:34 am
They managed to parlay the plane incident into the news for multiple days. What is Obama trying to sneak past us now? My guess is the health care bill.
April 29, 2009 at 8:22 am
Maybe it is a big diversion. Sebelius was confirmed. Are they trying to stifle the controversy? And who are the idiot republicans who voted for this woman??
April 29, 2009 at 10:18 am
Eric, I believe you are correct….again. :)
Two days ago Americans For Prosperity said this. The conference committee was trying to put together Reconciliation, a back-door rush of the health-care.
I’ve also read the same thing about the energy bill.
“Reconciliation is a trick, a procedure designed for deficit reduction being misused to jam through a government takeover of health care with only 20 hours of debate, no amendments, and just 50 votes instead of the usual 60. This trick will silence Republicans and centrist Democrats, and allow a radical leftist plan in which government takes away control of health care from patients and doctors, and rations care by denying it to people judged by bureaucrats to be too old or too sick to justify the cost.”
April 29, 2009 at 4:44 pm
Close. I think they actually don’t want people to realize the implications of Arlen Specter’s defection. Now Congress and the Present will be able to do anything they want and will not have to tell us what they are doing. Scary, no?
April 29, 2009 at 7:45 pm
Hi, Cat. Very scary. We definitely have a one party Congress; a Congress who doesn’t give a flip what the people think or want. They plan to keep it that way for many many years. We have to pull together and defeat these evil doers! Now.
April 29, 2009 at 5:37 am
This administration, congress and senate are the worst that I have seen in all my years. I thought we had seen everything in the last eight years..now I realize it was almost nothing. We have an arrogant ..smart assed president who does not deserve to be there. A speaker of the house that should be removed before the sun comes up..a vice president that amounts to nothing. I feel less safe under obama. I have less hope under obama..and I am looking forward to a “change” taking place soon.
April 29, 2009 at 12:03 pm
Change is what you’ll have left in you wallet…
April 29, 2009 at 2:47 pm
i hope so.
April 29, 2009 at 3:30 pm
Like those new Emperor Obama pieces of silver change jangling in his supporter’s pockets?
April 29, 2009 at 5:49 am
Alright so there are a handful of things I’ve been thinking about with regards to Arlen Specter.
First, all the news reports all over the web are making reference to how Arlen Specter “becoming” Democrat is moving the Senate one step closer to a filibuster-proof 60 votes. One story even called it a “100 day gift” for Obama.
But the Good Senator said the Republican party was leaving HIM, not the other way around, so why would anyone assume that Specter saying “hey, now I’m a Democrat” means that he’ll suddenly be voting party lines?
I mean… how could that be unless Arlen Specter is just a total weasel with no convictions? Shouldn’t he still be voting the exact same way he always would? And if so, then how is this good for the Democrats? If anything they traded a current wild card for a future ace.
But that brings me to point two. With all the analysis saying how this is a boon for Obama and the Democrats, how come nobody (besides conservative commentators on Fox) is concerned about the implications of Specter “suddenly” voting with Democrats? When did we get to the point where your party affiliation defines your convictions?
And that brings me to point three. Specter said he’s not going to be an “automatic 60th vote” but it seems to me like Specter has no choice but to be just that. I mean he’s abandoned the Republican party which means he has no friends on the right side. He was going to lose the primary. Now he has nobody to protect his back except the Dems, but come the next election, as a wild-card he’s more of a liability than anything else. If he doesn’t do exactly what Harry Reid says, why would Reid bother giving Specter the backing for re-election as a democrat?
And that brings me to my final point. Anybody want to take bets on how quickly the Democratic Party drops support for Specter as his primary approaches? I could easily be wrong, but I get the feeling they’re going to kick him to the curb.
April 29, 2009 at 7:55 am
Brilliant deductions. Now the dems own all the sour lemons. Even if they try to make lemonade, it will still be sour and no one will want to drink it. After all, they all still have their kool-aid!
April 29, 2009 at 8:36 am
Specter’s whole line of reasoning is absurd:
The voters elected me to represent them. Those same voters are disappointed that I voted for the stimulus bill. As a result I would get trounced in a primary.
Therefore I am switching parties in a pathetic attempt to blame the republican party rather than my own gross incompetence. It works for BO.
By the way BO promised he would support me in the democrat primary. And, we all know BO always delivers.
April 29, 2009 at 8:43 am
I’m absolutely positive that there was some pretty heavy dealing going on with Specter and the Dem leaders in congress setting up a “You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours.” deal. The bottom line is that Specter jumped ship because Toomey was ahead in the polls by 25%. Toomey came very close to beating Specter in the last primary. The writing was on the wall.
Specter’s defection had nothing to do with any sort of political or moral high ground and everything to do with his own personal survival.
Several years ago William F Buckley’s magazine “National Review” did a cover story with Specter on the cover and the title “The Worst Man in the Senate” (or some such thing).
Someone made a comment yesterday that it’s possible that part of Specter’s deal was that the Dems would assure him that no one would challenge him in the Primary. I think that’s highly likely. Or if someone does – it will just be someone used as a scape goat.
April 29, 2009 at 9:26 am
Good points everyone! Great analysis. Thanks for sharing.
April 29, 2009 at 11:56 am
If memory serves, wasn’t ol’ Arlen a Dem until the mid 60s, at which time he defected to the GOP? And people/the press wonder why the old fart’s been leaning left these many years. GMAFB.
April 29, 2009 at 1:04 pm
Yes, he jumped party again.
I have a strong suspicion that the deal is…
Specter votes the party whenever Harry Reid tells him to, or the Dems will bail on him come re-election time.
This type of “gaming” is prevalent in Congress. You remember a long time ago when one of the sitcom stations (NBC I think) ran that unsuccessful show called “Mr. Sterling”?
I remember one of the episodes where Josh Brolin figured out he had to trade votes to get anything done… in other words, he scratched someone’s back in order to get his own scratched.
I think it failed because either nobody could believe our system actually worked that way, or because nobody WANTED to believe our system worked that way.
Anyway, it’s just another example of how corrupt Congress is. I mean think about it. If you or I sell our vote to someone in exchange for their vote in favor of a politician we like, that’s a felony. Remember those vote selling websites?
But if Congress does it, that’s just part of the process.
April 29, 2009 at 6:12 am
This fly over New York was the most thoughtless, incompetent stunt I have ever heard of. After 9/11, I can not believe anyone would dream this up..anyone with a brain that is. There is no way, Obama didn’t know where his plane was and to approve of this photo shoot, was sickening.
And if he,Obama, didn’t know where the plane was, this is even more frightening..Who is really calling the shots in Washington?
April 29, 2009 at 7:19 am
Right. Think about this and there is NO WAY that the White House didn’t at least approve of it on some level.
The aircraft was the backup to the “regular” AF1, right? Okay, if someone at USAF or DoD or wherever wanted pics of it somewhere, they would HAVE to coordinate with the WH, right? “Hey, we want to get some pictures of the backup AF1 in flight. Is POTUS going anywhere tomorrow, in other words, is there ANY chance he might POSSIBLY need the backup jet tomorrow? No? So there’s no reason we can’t do it, then? Great, thanks so much and we’ll be sure to send you a set of the pics.”
Make sense? Of course it does. SOMEBODY at WH knew what was going on and approved it. And that’s if you buy into the innocent photo-op story, which I’m finding more and more difficult to believe on its face.
There is more to this story, folks.
April 29, 2009 at 7:53 pm
Soros.
April 29, 2009 at 6:53 am
I have a relative that works on the AF1 ground team. He says that after every AF1 flight, every mechanical piece on the plane has to be checked and the crew spends hours ‘polishing’ the outside of the plane!! So today Obama is taking the baby out to Saint Louis for a spin. Flush, the sound of our money going down the drain.
April 29, 2009 at 7:02 am
Did your relative get to see who got off the plane when it came back from New York? I think that might be interesting.
April 29, 2009 at 7:38 am
Maybe it was the Saudi Kindg and his entourage.
April 29, 2009 at 8:15 am
Great question, Pie!!
Honora: can you try to find out???
April 29, 2009 at 12:07 pm
Obama is taking the baby out to Saint Louis for a spin
You mis-spelled pizza run.
April 29, 2009 at 2:55 pm
LOL.
April 29, 2009 at 1:12 pm
By the way, did you all know that Congress decides how much money the Executive branch can spend? Or at least that’s how it was designed in the Constitution. Nobody ever really talks about the White House budget. Interesting.
April 29, 2009 at 3:48 pm
Look I’m all for elected public servants cutting costs in their travel (Michael Dukakis famously taking the subway to work as MA governor is a good example) – - – but look, are you seriously suggesting that the POTUS (BHO or someone you like) not travel to cut costs? Should our elected executive branch leader just sit at home and not travel the country he (or someday she) is supposed to lead? Why not petition the White House to reduce the maintenance budget for AF1 instead of insinuating that the president should just sit in the White House?
I honestly don’t mean to sound crass, but it strikes me there is a perfectly reasonable argument to make from the second hand family story you present – - – and instead of making it you’ve spent your post insinuating that every time the POTUS (Obama or otherwise) travels we’re doomed to lose tax payer money.
April 29, 2009 at 11:53 pm
Yes, every trip costs the taxpayers a bundle. But that is why the officials should be frugal and not wasteful.
April 29, 2009 at 11:59 pm
They don’t suggest that the POTUS not travel on official business or even limited luxury.
They’re suggesting that he not travel for frivolous things every other week. A 2000 mile trip to a windmill plant one day. A trip to Chicago for Valentines day; a trip to Camp David the next. Stumping from city to city to drum up support for unpopular bills.
While there’s a financial crisis, he pulls shit like the New York flyby.
Might as well mention the Wagyu steak and the reports of partying long into the night because it’s all interrelated.
What is it? He’s demonstrating to everyone that he’s living high on the hog without regard for the fact that everyone else is making cuts to their budget. We’re making cuts, while he’s using our tax money on frivolities that benefit only him.
The direct costs may be pennies compared to his insane budget, but it’s a slap in the face to every taxpayer and should be taken as such.
April 29, 2009 at 7:25 am
I for one think Bambi is a complete FOOL! I do not believe for one instant he would no know without a shadow of a dobt he would be terroizing Americans. I believe completly he KNEW what he was doing. I think he was sending a message. The only people who will be terroized will be Americans. It was no mistake he bowed to the King of Saudi.
April 29, 2009 at 8:14 am
I agree, Kathlynnelore! After all, his “spiritual” mentor was Rev. “G-d Damn America” Wright.
April 29, 2009 at 7:45 am
Photo OP? BS.
April 29, 2009 at 7:49 am
I don’t know why Americans are not getting this: Obama does NOT CARE ABOUT YOU.
He only cares about power.
He’s got it, he’s going to use it, and whenever the public complains, he will simply “feign” outrage and blame someone else.
That’s what dictators do.
A friend of mine in NYC lost 10 friends on 911. I’m sure he’s back in therapy after this sickening incident.
Photo op? Puleeeze. I’m not buying that excuse, and neither are a lot of other people.
April 29, 2009 at 8:09 am
I’m sure you’re right about your friend, Tammy. September 11 irrevocably changed everyone who was witness to it. Not one of us will ever be the same or ever fully heal. It’s impossible.
April 29, 2009 at 8:21 am
Yeah, Garlic. I saw him about 3 months after the attack and his hair had turned completely white. He’ll never be the same, and neither will I. My husband predicted that Americans would go back to sleep a few years after it happened.
He was right.
Hopefully we wake up again.
April 29, 2009 at 11:55 am
Yes Tammy,
Let’s hope we wake up again, but I don’t think many will until we get another wake up call.
Bob A.
April 29, 2009 at 8:53 am
Tammy:
First, have to say I enjoy not only the content of your posts, but the fire and passion that you bring to them as well.
Second, believe you are exactly right with this latest post.
President Punk is a frontrunning as*hole and a bully- I am terrified knowing that he is going to fold pathetically in the coming whirlwind of adversity that he is now so furiously reaping.
There is definitely something not right about this purported photo-op. The sh*t just ain’t stacking up straight, to be a bit uh, earthy.
April 29, 2009 at 9:56 am
Thanks for the compliment. Obviously I’m not going to make everyone happy with my comments, but then again, I’m not running for office and don’t care about popularity.
I care about truth.
April 29, 2009 at 10:14 am
Tammy said: “I care about truth.”
That’s the bottom line! And I can’t imagine anyone here being put off by the content of your “fighter jet over Manhattan” post. Puhleeze!
April 29, 2009 at 10:23 am
I was referring to one of my rants from a few days ago, Garlic. Apparently there are too many conservative on Hillbuzz now, and one of the posters didn’t like it.
April 29, 2009 at 11:24 am
THAT is NOT what she said at all. It had nothing to do with the number of conservatives, but about the fact, people were being called nasty names and told to leave and the fact that anyone who did not like Cheney must love Obama be a bot ect. NO ONE complained about the number of conservatives but about the fact you were telling the people who spoke against Cheney to leave.
April 29, 2009 at 11:37 am
I went back and read what I wrote Lyn.
I suggest you do the same. And the other poster DID complain that there were too many Repubs on this site. Go back and read that too.
But today is a new day, and I plan on moving forward.
April 29, 2009 at 11:57 am
I have read what you wrote several times, you called other posters VERY nasty names and suggest they go back to troll holes ect.
People were not compliaining about Republicans being here, more about the fact they were trying to drive the longtime Hillary supporters out and calling all Dems or people who still don’t like Cheney bots ect.
People HAVE let it drop, but YOU keep bringing it up in almost every thread. and twisting it that some people don’t want Republicans here, when it was they don’t want people to call other posters bitch, twit and other lovely things you wrote.
April 29, 2009 at 12:08 pm
You know what, Lyn? Why don’t you stop reading my posts if you don’t like them? That would solve all of your problems.
And if you choose to read them, I suggest you go to Walgreens and buy a gallon jug of sunscreen SPF 30 and swath it all over your body because your skin is so thin that you probably need the protection. The post on the day in question started off with the Hillbuzz guys saying that they missed Cheney. Apparently you didn’t see that. I don’t give a rats ass if you like him or not, but YOU chose to jump in TODAY and bring it all up again. Garlic probably didn’t know what I was referring to, and moved on. I suggest you do too.
April 29, 2009 at 12:39 pm
I did see the origonal post and actually my comment about Cheney was a positive, even tho I don’t agree with everything he did. Since HB started people have been free to post if they agree or don’t agree with out having to worry about being attacked like at many other sites, and MOST poster here respect that. Which is what makes HB such a wonderful friendly place and why it has conitunued to flourish and get more members since Hillary suspended her campaign. I personally could care what your thoughts are about anyone or me personally, but was saying that people weren’t saying they had a problems with all the Republican posters, they had a problem with Republican posters that treat them just like the Bots did during the primary, or hoping their house gets bombed by terrorist because they don’t like Cheney. The only reason I keep responding is because I don’t want the people who were not Hillary supporters to think they are not wanted, which is what you keep saying is our problem.
But I’m don’t now, I got my point across, sorry you have such anger.
April 29, 2009 at 12:59 pm
Lyn:
Again, you don’t have to read my posts. Many people like them, others don’t.
But this will be my last response to you, because this is just a waste of time.
I’m more concerned with the people posting here who were affected by the fly by.
Did you read THOSE posts, Lyn? They are heart wrenching.
If you want to keep playing PC police on comments from two days ago, have at it!
I’m done.
April 29, 2009 at 7:34 pm
lyn is only speaking the truth and kindly took the time to explain only to be called names. OOOOOOOkkkkkkk
This is a Hillary site and although people here support Sarah Plain for her integrity, We don’t appreciate being called names or slamming Hillary. We do not do that here. Name calling and general nastiness to other posters is not appropo here. Keep it clean.
April 29, 2009 at 9:11 pm
What names did I call her above? Name ONE name I called her other than “thin skinned”.
And when did I slam Hillary? Look above again.
Do you even READ the posts? Use the little scrawly thingy and read them again.
Same advice: buy some SPF 30 and put a thick coat on your skin.
Then, grow up. Both of you. This post now has over 300 comments, and they are NOT going to be about you FEEWINGS being hurt.
Read on, and skip my posts. It’s called freedom of choice.
April 29, 2009 at 7:50 am
Obama is a terrorist. I have no doubt about that. I fear for my children. I am ashamed of my country and I wish I had left last year….Betty, you are right, I have never seen nor heard of anything like it. I, myself, am absolutely tired of it..and wish it would stop!!!
April 29, 2009 at 12:01 pm
Add sociopath to the mix, because he’s that, as well,
April 29, 2009 at 1:25 pm
It falls to each of us to fight for what we believe in. The Founding Fathers envisioned a system where the people were PREVALENT in the accountability of government.
A lot of people look at the original plans, whereby only white, male, landowners were able to vote, and decry the racism, misogyny, and elitism.
But you have to take a step back and judge that scenario by the merits of its day.
If you read about the Founding Fathers you find their primary concern was that people remain INFORMED. Many of them were in favor of full equal rights, but worried about the impact if people did not take the RESPONSIBILITY to stay FULLY INFORMED on the issues.
Back then there was no Internet, TV, or even radio. Newspapers were even somewhat rare in availability or frequency of publishing.
White, male landowners generally had the freedom to travel to conventions and meetings to learn about and discuss government, whereas women generally remained home to tend to the house and family.
They also almost universally knew how to read English, whereas non-landowners and immigrants often did not. If you couldn’t read English, it would be very difficult to stay informed even if you COULD get your hands on a newspaper or publication.
Also, back then, with homesteading, it wasn’t like you had to be a millionaire to be a landowner. A lot of people who would be considered “poor” were landowners.
Anyway, my point is, we have lost sight of the Founding Father’s concern that we ALL stay INFORMED and INVOLVED. If everyone who is upset would become active in their government, you’d be amazed how quickly change would come. For every upset person I know who’s contacted Congress, I know at least eight who haven’t, despite my urgings.
So I hope you’re involved and if not I encourage you to do so. I’ve found my senators rather pleasant with their responses, even though I rarely agree with them.
April 30, 2009 at 1:02 am
I agree. John Adams was a huge advocate of educating the populace at large. I don’t remember exact quotes at this point, but the gist of his argument was that society would fail if ignorance was permitted among those who could vote.
I’ve written my Senators quite frequently and always been left feeling disappointed. I wrote a Senator only to recieve what I felt was a form letter. My suspicion was confirmed the next morning when my response to their message resulted in receipt of the exact same letter that was sent one day previous. They’re not listening one iota.
Further to that, it was sent with a time stamp exactly at the hour mark (i.e. 8:00:00 AM) so I’m willing to bet that it’s response was automatically generated by a server somewhere on the other end.
April 30, 2009 at 1:18 am
“If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be. The functionaries of every government have propensities to command at will the liberty and property of their constituents. There is no safe deposit for these but with the people themselves; nor can they be safe with them without information. Where the press is free, and every man able to read, all is safe.”
– Thomas Jefferson
The replies the senators send are basically form letters, as it would be impossible to respond to every single letter with an original response.
You can tell whether or not they had to come up with a new form letter for you based on how long it takes them to reply.
If it’s longer than about 10 days (as long as they’re not on vacation) then they probably wrote a new response just for your question. This has happened to me twice.
April 30, 2009 at 1:43 am
EricP,
Thanks for the quote. I remember John Adams saying something similar in his much wordier style.
I guess that’s why I’ve always found him to be more endearing. He and I have the same problem.
I don’t expect a personally composed letter from my Representative, however I do find it more than a little irritating that they respond with the exact same letter that I’m responding to.
To this day I’m convinced my response was never viewed by human eyes.
April 30, 2009 at 3:41 pm
“I am ashamed of my country and I wish I had left last year.”
Just wow.
The people who are serving in the government of MY country have done things that anger me, they have done things that have hurt MY country’s image, they have done careless things, stupid things, irresponsible things – and I may be hurt, angry and ashamed of what these *government employees* have done – but NEVER, EVER have I been ashamed of MY country.
If we all left because of what some boneheaded politicians have done who would put America right again? America is her common people. You can leave if you want. MY country needs me now more than ever.
April 29, 2009 at 8:00 am
I am beyond sickened to think that President #44 (he doesn’t respect us, so I won’t call him by his name) believes that he can just take credit for all the good things that occur (read: pirates and Capt. Philips) and place blame elsewhere for the bad things that occur under his watch (so many examples of him constantly blaming former President Bush for the troubles) like this. If anyone thinks that for ONE SECOND President #44 didn’t know about this supposed “photo op” until we found out about it, they are completely fooling themselves. He probably planned the whole thing… And what an ego he has to think that he can just scare the bejeezus out of every New Yorker that was watching!!! I was working in the tallest building in Boston on 9/11, and I remember that day so clearly — it’s not something that any of us that were affected emotionally by it will ever forget!!! I am offended knowing that he believes he can just lie to us about anything and get away with it!!! What happened to the transparency?!?
April 29, 2009 at 8:06 am
When Bobo butt-licker Geraldo Rivera is livid and says the person responsible for this incident should be fired, you know it’s bad.
Those of us who witnessed the WTC massacre firsthand, whether or not we lost friends, as I did, and lived and breathed the aftermath for months on end, don’t take this mean-spirited act lightly. (Sudden loud noises still make me jump out of my skin.)
Photo op? Lie! Cost to taxpayers? Frivolous
waste, and at the worst possible time! It will take months to determine who is to blame? BULL SH*T!
There’s only one possible good that can come from this incident: buyers’ remorse on the part of New Yorkers and New Jerseyans.
It’s now official: we have a madman in the White House.
April 29, 2009 at 8:23 am
And I wonder how many people actually DIED because of that fly by.
I’m serious.
How many people dropped dead of heart attacks as the plane swooped in.
SICK.
Just SICK.
April 29, 2009 at 10:19 am
Your concern is a serious one! Did you hear that 911 caller from Jersey City on FOX this morning? I KNOW that panic that was in her voice.
I don’t know a soul directly involved or living within smelling-seeing and feeling-the-impact-of-the-collapse distance of the WTC at that time who doesn’t have PTSD.
And you’re right: “SICK” is the only way to describe this dirty prank. NYC and NJ: arise from your Kool-Aid-induced slumber!
April 29, 2009 at 6:47 pm
Or emergency calls that were not handled in a timely manner because of all the people calling 911 due to the flyby as well as all other emergencies that took a backseat to the flyby of the 747.
April 30, 2009 at 9:02 am
Great point, Garnette! Good Lord, that hadn’t even occurred to me. The lines must’ve been jammed to the max!
April 29, 2009 at 9:35 am
Oh, and I’m SOOO sorry that you went through the attack in NYC. I can’t even imagine the terror that you must have experienced. It makes me want to cry.
I flew to NY to visit ground zero and I cried for two days just thinking of those innocent people and their families.
April 29, 2009 at 10:24 am
Someday, I may well write about it. In 2002, I did get to copyedit a book called *Names of the Dead,* which was a beautiful elegy to all those who perished. The author said my notes about the people I knew who died made her cry. Her entire book washed over me like an ocean of emotion. It was cathartic, but the long-term deleterious effects prevail for ALL of us!
April 29, 2009 at 1:57 pm
So the Democrats care more about the mental well being of terrorists guilty of murdering Americans and will defend their rights, but will facilitate the terrorising of New Yorkers by this obscene stunt. Call me paranoid but I still think it was suspicious that one of the 9-11 widows that was very proactive politically was killed a few months ago in a plane crash –is this some sort of message from Obama not to mess with him? And he can say what he wants, he is responsible for the whole thing.
April 29, 2009 at 8:14 am
Maybe Barry is trying to film his sequel over “Fantasy Island”. Herve Vellaquez (sp?) was probably standing on Broadway pointing and yelling “The Plane, The Plane”. Okay, I realize most of you are too young to have any clue what I just said, but that is for all of you from my generation-you know who you are!
I’m surprised Barry wasn’t complaining “The teleprompter made me do it”. After all it HAS been acting up lately. I could not believe the way he smirked when he said “It was a mistake”. He knew full well what was going on. It is HIS plane for cryin’ out loud! He loves playing on his little toy, with all the perks on board. Notice how he stuts off of the plane, with his whimpy little salute, not even looking the officer in the eyes. He still keeps trying to pass the buck, even though his desk says the buck stops here. Geez, my ODS just keeps getting worse. And, coming here to vent is the only medicine available right now. I can’t wait until we find a cure!
JackDaddy is right. WHO was on the plane. If this was Bush’s plane, they would be looking under every rock to find out. But as usual, the press protects the arrogant pretender and no one questions him. It is sickening.
But I do not have a lot of empathy for New Yorkers. Most of them voted for him. Maybe this will be the beginning of a wake up call for them.
We need to start praying, en masse! This just keeps getting scarier every day.
April 29, 2009 at 8:19 am
I’m watching FOX and listening to a 911 caller from Jersey City who was freaking out about the plane. The hair on my arms is standing up, and I live far away from JC now, in AZ. I HATE BARACK OBAMA! He has purposely caused tremendous distress. He is evil incarnate!
April 29, 2009 at 8:25 am
See, this is where we come together, Garlic. Even though I’m conservative, I would give ANYTHING to have Hillary as POTUS instead of this evil Marxist.
She and Bill would never have led the country in this direction.
Never.
April 29, 2009 at 9:04 am
garlic, I heard that 911 call too, it infuriated me more than anything else I’ve heard on this issue. Just imagining those people freaking out thinking it was all happening again.
Tammy as always I’m with ya. Wouldn’t you just LOVE to know what Hillary is REALLY thinking about all this stuff going on? Tell you one thing, there’s no way she would have proceeded like the Zero and thee rest of his buffoons. The Clintons have major smarts.
April 29, 2009 at 9:49 am
She must be seething about losing. She would NEVER be doing the things that this Marxist is doing. And she has to keep her mouth shut, and that must be driving her nuts. Thank God she’s not around the Zero on a daily basis, she’d probably explode. LOL.
April 29, 2009 at 10:28 am
Tammy, have we ever really disagreed about anything? I can’t recall, so if we did, it surely wasn’t important.
Hillary would NEVER have been so insensitive. She represented NY, fer God’s sake! I can’t wait to see what she really has up her sleeve, ’cause you know she’s seething….
April 29, 2009 at 8:27 am
This recent fiasco with “Scare Force One” is just another example of what is deeply wrong about our current administration. The utter disconnect towards the feelings of a city that was traumatized by the events of 9-11 reflects how that day has drifted from their memory.
Yet in all these errors and fundamental attacks on American society, I need to keep my eye on doing what I can to protect what has always been good about this country. There is so much changing and I can’t help but believe that this administration wants to make things so turbulent that we, the reasonable ones, feel too overwhelmed to act. I’m very angry, but I also know that such an anger will not serve our cause.
We must be always moving forward. We must be relentless in discussing what is good about this nation, in how our founding principles are being stripped away and what we intend to do to protect what the Founding Fathers worked so hard to establish. The more I am consumed with disgust for this man, his politics and his intent, the more I am distracted from the sweetness of what I must fight for.
Dr. Wayne Dyer is a big fan of mine and he reminds us that we draw to us that which we emanate. Our determination and agitation must be focused and our intent pure. We need to have central messages so the masses can protest in unison. I know there are a lot of things we don’t like, but we can’t afford to be scattered in our attacks because it begins to sound like a whine.
I thank you for this place to sound off. It gives my mom a break. Seriously though, I believe some very critical times are ahead of us and we must not feel powerless. On the contrary, times like these remind us of what is important to us and what we must do to protect that which lifts us.
God bless each and every one of you today.
April 29, 2009 at 8:33 am
pjean:
Thanks for the reminder. After attending a tax party protest, I felt that hope in my chest again. Real hope, not the fake hope that Obama is peddling.
We will prevail over this chaos and come out stronger in the end.
April 29, 2009 at 10:31 am
Standing “O” for you, pjean! Beautiful. Thank you.
April 29, 2009 at 10:32 am
P.S. “Scare Force One”–omg, that’s just brilliant!
April 29, 2009 at 9:12 pm
The Tea Party recharged my weary battery. I need at least one a week at the rate things are spiraling outta control.
April 30, 2009 at 10:30 am
pjean – this is a great, great post.
Let’s use whatever happens to drive us closer to our principles and live out our truths more faithfully. The constant chaos is the natural milieu of turbulent, manipulative people so let us use the energy thrown off by all this motion and commotion – use and harness the energy to drive toward our goals and objectives.
April 29, 2009 at 8:34 am
well said, guys
April 29, 2009 at 8:35 am
I was listening to Rush yesterday when a former Secret Service agent called in. He said that he could not speak about specifics, but it is absolutely unthinkable that the President doesn’t know where all the planes used as AF1 are at all times (meaning his closest staff are briefed continually – it’s a national security issue). Then Gibbs gets all flippant when questioned by reporters saying he has other things he does during the day than worry about where planes are. Then BO himself acts furious and says he’ll investigate how this happened. According to the SS man – at the very least, his closest advisers knew exactly what was going to happen, if not BO himself.
Someone needs to remind BO that the buck stops with him. But he is willing to blame other people continually. Say what you will about Bush, I don’t recall him ever trying to brush off blame on his staff or his cabinet. He understood that ultimately they were all acting on his behalf and the responsibility for EVERYTHING lay with him. No wonder BO has 100 positions yet to fill. No one wants to have bus tire marks on their backs.
April 29, 2009 at 9:15 am
KJA – glad I’m not the only one that sees that he’s so quick to blame others when something goes awry! OF COURSE he knew what was going on… I can’t imagine why we would need a picture of AF1 with Lady Liberty in the first place, unless it was for campaign purposes… Even still, a picture won’t sell it to me, that’s for sure!
April 29, 2009 at 10:40 am
“…100 positions yet to fill.”
Now, THAT would be a good topic for today.
April 29, 2009 at 12:34 pm
Yes – and the head of the CDC and the Surgeon General are two of the positions that are vacant. Kind of important with this pandemic looming.
April 29, 2009 at 3:04 pm
he doesn’t think those are important jobs.
April 29, 2009 at 8:36 am
I’m not sure exactly what the Truth is about the flyover in NYC, but if it is just a distraction, we need to start action on the latest BO plan for socialized medicine. I received an email late yesterday about the new Deal Dems ~sorry Dems, but it is Dems that are pushing this deal~ are trying to push thru undercover from http://www.grassfire.org They know that most Americans don’t want socialized medicine, but like the Porkulus Bill, they don’t care. They also know, if this get’s out, then they don’t have a chance. We need to get the info out and start calling and faxing.
It’s time to fight Patriots!
April 29, 2009 at 8:38 am
Rumor has it, here in NYC, that the reason for this photo op was to get pictures for a book that Bo the H2O Dog is “writing.”
NY1 has stopped reporting the flight as a “photo op”. Reports are now describing the flight as merely “standard operating procedures” and that the pilot needed “practice hours”.
Barky had to know about this flight. No one takes Air Force1 for a joyride.
As much as I hate to admit this…I have to say that I am having 9/11 flashbacks brought on by this stunt: the unique smell of burning airline fuel and human flesh, the gritty, greasy layer of pulverized WTC and 1,500 atomized human bodies thay coverd our apartment, which I cleaned up using a sponge and Bonami (Thanks for the clean-up advice, Christie Toad!), the gigantic rats that one would see in the Ground Zero subways, besides the memory of watching the towers collapse in front of me and my pug and out running that cloud.
In the past couple years, it has become very gauche here to talk about 9/11. People have tried to move on.
This flight was a cruel, hate-filled joke.
I think I need to look at some Meissen and go to the gym.
April 29, 2009 at 8:58 am
CP-
I’m really sorry for both the pain you suffered then, and the pain the dipsh*t in the white house caused you recently.
We’ll get the bastids- the cruel, hate filled joke will get kicked out of power soon enough.
April 29, 2009 at 9:04 am
From Bloomberg:
“Paul Browne, deputy New York City police commissioner, said yesterday that the department was told by the FAA not to inform the public about what it thought would be a higher flyover by two F-16s and an Air Force VC-25 aircraft. The VC-25, a military version of the 747, is used as Air Force One when the president flies on it.
The planes flew past the Statue of Liberty and the financial district near the World Trade Center site that was hit in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. The aircraft were on a “photo mission,” Jim Peters, an FAA spokesman, said yesterday.”
April 29, 2009 at 9:08 am
From CBS2
FAA Memo: Feds Knew NYC Flyover Would Cause Panic
“Federal officials knew that sending two fighter jets and Air Force One to buzz ground zero and Lady Liberty might set off nightmarish fears of a 9/11 replay, but they still ordered the photo-op kept secret from the public.
In a memo obtained by CBS 2 HD the Federal Aviation Administration’s James Johnston said the agency was aware of “the possibility of public concern regarding DOD (Department of Defense) aircraft flying at low altitudes” in an around New York City. But they demanded total secrecy from the NYPD, the Secret Service, the FBI and even the mayor’s office and threatened federal sanctions if the secret got out.
What are your feelings on federal officials demanding the NYC flyover be kept secret by the NYPD and the mayor’s office?
“To say that it should not be made public knowing that it might scare people it’s just confounding,” Sen. Charles Schumer said. “It’s what gives Washington and government a bad name. It’s sheer stupidity.”
The flyover — apparently ordered by the White House Office of Military Affairs so it would have souvenir photos of Air Force One with the Statue of Liberty in the background — had President Obama seeing red. He ordered a probe and apologized.”
April 29, 2009 at 7:01 pm
The MSM will give this as little coverage as possible. The big 100 nightmarish days is what really matters to these idiots, who think it’s all about the glory of the one. Heartless bastards, all of ‘em.
April 29, 2009 at 9:26 pm
“To say that it should not be made public knowing that it might scare people it’s just confounding,” Sen. Charles Schumer said. “It’s what gives Washington and government a bad name. It’s sheer stupidity.”
This may be the only time I have ever agreed with this man!
April 29, 2009 at 9:34 pm
If Schumer’s upset about anyone in Washington being stupid, it must be because he thinks he owns the local franchise and he doesn’t want the competition.
April 29, 2009 at 9:26 am
This incident proves that the administration makes their decisions as though it were still 9/10. If 9/11 had made an impression on them, not only would they have realized this photo-op was a horrible, insensitive idea and scraped it immediately, but they would never have released classified information when the former CIA directors told them it was a bad idea.
This administration is deaf to the cries from 9/11, blind to fire and smoke and unable to smell the jet fuel.
It means nothing compared to the chance to create cheap souvenir photos to hand out to White House quests.
April 29, 2009 at 9:42 am
Chelsea:
My heart goes out to both you and GNH.
I can’t even imagine the horror that you experienced.
This heartless President doesn’t care a twat about you, but WE here at Hillbuzz DO. I know I’m speaking for everyone else, but again, I’m SOOO sorry and would give you a hug if I could reach through the internet.
April 29, 2009 at 10:34 am
Chelsea Patriot, I send you a big, warm, loving hug across the miles. God bless and keep you and yours safe!
April 29, 2009 at 4:09 pm
I am very touched, Garlic.
May God bless you and your Brother!
April 29, 2009 at 8:39 am
theobamafile.com is investigating this today,
look under news. I do not feel it was a
photo-op. Maybe it was to say to the American people there are no longer
foreign terrorist, only home grown.
or was it a poll test in the sky to see
how New Yorkers would react. Maybe in the
new Obama history books 911 will not have
happened. No negative stories on Moslem
brothers.
April 29, 2009 at 9:21 am
This empty suit they call the POTUS is completely numbed with celebrity drunkeness. He so believed that he is so loved that he can do whatever he wants. I cannot, and will never believe that he didn’t know about the plans to buzz NYC. He wanted the photo op for his reelection and for posterity purposes. No other presidents that I’m aware of, and I’m old enough to remember, has ever done this. I demand that heads roll, but he won’t because he can’t take a chance that whoever is fired will tell the truth that he knew about the plans before hand. This is the audacity of his arrogance. What did it cost us? According to the news, it was $385K for this stunt. I demand a refund!
April 29, 2009 at 9:24 am
Today I’m thinking about the future of the GOP, who it’s “stars” are, who would be running if there was a presidential primary right now. And the number of outside-the-beltway names, especially Governors, is what jumps out at me: Jindal. Perry. Palin. Pawlenty. Sanford. Giuliani. Even throwing Gingrich in the mix, he’s been so long out of the House that he’s known to a whole new generation as a FOX talking head more than a beltway guy.
IMHO, when it comes to sheer brains, it’s Gingrich in a walk, but Gingrich is damaged goods (thanks to frivolous ethics complaints like the ones now being launched at Palin) and brains don’t count for much anymore, it seems. But the future of the GOP certainly looks like it lies with the populist, outside-the-beltway sorts.
And I’m willing to bet, the GOP won’t oppose Barack Hussein Obama without a woman or an “ethnic” type on tha ballot, which makes two names jump out: Jindal and Palin.
Of course, there’s a long way to go. But Jindal/Palin does have a nice ring to it, IMHO!
April 29, 2009 at 10:44 am
I prefer Palin/Jindal. :-)
April 29, 2009 at 10:53 am
Second.
April 29, 2009 at 11:44 am
Third.
April 29, 2009 at 7:04 pm
Palin first, I won’t settle for anything less.
April 30, 2009 at 12:06 am
Fourth! I agree with michL too. I won’t settle for anything less.
April 29, 2009 at 1:19 pm
BSB (laughing) OK, OK I meant either Jindal/Palin OR Palin/Jindal! LOL
April 29, 2009 at 3:07 pm
me too.
April 29, 2009 at 1:33 pm
I still think that 2012 is too soon for Palin, although her last appearance was a really good one. I’m excited to see what other moves she makes. I remind myself that Obama rose from total obscurity to President in four years. Palin has a much bigger head start.
I am not that familiar with Pawlenty or Sanford other than occasional appearances on Fox. I know they are good governors but I believe in the next election it will be critical to go toe to toe with Obama in the debates. The candidate needs to be charismatic, intelligent, and unafraid to attack a black man on his policies (I always felt McCain was treating Obama with kid gloves and couldn’t help but wonder if race was a reason why).
I think Gingrich has the last two, but I’m not sure if he has the charisma to connect with the right crowd.
I think Romney has all three, and he also has a relatively untarnished record, but I fear he will be unfairly judged due to his religion.
I do think Sarah Palin has all three as well.
April 29, 2009 at 9:52 pm
I’ve been mulling Romney over for months. My feeling is, after BO, of questionable religious affiliation, completely bankrupts this nation, a Mormon with financial smarts, who is a GROWN UP, will be change we will have hope in. Palin would get all the experience she needs to run for potus as his vp.
Totus would be extinct.
April 29, 2009 at 9:57 pm
After Barky McBankrupt, the bar will be pretty low. Damn near anyone will look good.
April 29, 2009 at 4:45 pm
What about Romney?
April 30, 2009 at 1:57 am
Too much speculation on big offices! I think people should begin getting concerned with the “small” offices and run as Republicans.
Third party is unviable because it would rob power from the only other established party in the nation. Any other time, maybe this would be a good thing; but right now, this is dangerous, especially considering the looming spectre of Democratic controlled . . . everything.
The whack-a-doos took control of the Democratic Party. Through individual action, I think the Republican party should be taken back by, “The People.”
April 30, 2009 at 8:20 am
I so agree with you on taking back at the local level. I think that’s what the tea parties will accomplish.
April 30, 2009 at 10:34 am
that’s a great point M_Magee. The reps being in disarray means a great opportunity for an infusion of new people and new ideas.
April 29, 2009 at 9:29 am
Welcome to the Golden Age of Hope and Change, already in progress…for EXACTLY 100 Days today.
So, have you gotten your unicorn yet? Is it fair to finally ask the Hopemeister to deliver on all of his many, many promises? Because he is biracial, should he instead be judged not by his first hundred days, but on some sort of curve of the media’s own design?
So, have you gotten your unicorn yet?

Obama has his.
Bob A.
April 29, 2009 at 9:30 am
I want to know WHO was on the plane? Where are the good journalists? Perhaps his hollywood friends were given a perk for a movie clip? Just something to ponder… Nothing makes sense anymore.
April 29, 2009 at 11:16 am
It was Biden. He was out joyriding while Obama was in Chicago and Hillary was out doing her thing.
No word on whether he stopped for ice cream or not.
:o)
April 29, 2009 at 9:31 am
I like Palin/Rice for 2012.
As in Condi…..
April 29, 2009 at 9:39 am
Sharon-
Talk about your dream teams. However, not sure you could get Condi to go for it. My understanding was that she’s done with politics.
But man, that ticket would be something.
April 29, 2009 at 10:52 am
Palin and Rice both have lived remarkable, inspiring, only-in-America life stories that would have made them media darlings were they Democrats. Both faced bias due to their gender, and Rice again over her skin color. Both are strong women and highly effective leaders. Other than Rice being born into money and Palin not, they are like bookends to each other.
I’d LOVE to see Condi enter elected politics, but somehow I don’t see it happening.
April 29, 2009 at 12:40 pm
I think Clinton/Palin would be the dream ticket. Let’s show everyone that true bipartisanship can exist. People can put aside their differences and map out a plan that is good for the country, not one big gigantic power-play like we’re getting now with President I-Won-I’ll-Trump-You. Our Founding Fathers had some major differences of opinion, yet succeeded in building a framework that still works today.
April 29, 2009 at 2:00 pm
It’s great to fantasize about that ticket, but I think that ticket might make our beloved hillbuzz boyz’ heads explode! LOLs!
April 29, 2009 at 3:08 pm
I WAS JUST GOING TO SAY THAT,LOL
April 29, 2009 at 4:32 pm
Clinton/Palin: OMG, YES, YES, a thousand times YEEEEESSSSSS!!!!
Sixteen years of peace, prosperity, effective and streamlined government, care for those who are dependent through no fault of their own, civility, honesty, decency, cooperation, compromise, and patriotism.
Talk about yer political orgasms! We NEED to come together in this way, and it’s time for strong, smart, sassy women who LOVE our country and its citizens to rule the roost!
In the words of Captain Jean-Luc Picard: “Make it so!”
April 29, 2009 at 4:35 pm
And did I mention dancing in the streets?
April 29, 2009 at 4:36 pm
…or respect for the U.S. Constitution?
April 30, 2009 at 12:09 am
Garlic,
I’d dance with you, and bring the wine!
April 30, 2009 at 9:06 am
(((((KEI)))))
April 29, 2009 at 9:38 am
I hope somebody in the media follows up on this, but what do you bet they go ahead and make their souvenir Photo from the flight?
Extraordinarily insensitive, but hardly surprising.
April 29, 2009 at 9:43 am
Wait, maybe they should do the photo.
The photo would be a great symbol of frivolous governmental spending along with the complete disregard for the people. It could be the perfect representation of Obama’s presidency.
April 29, 2009 at 11:05 am
I heard someone comment that it was done for the tv show “24″…I never watch that show so someone who does will have to watch and see???
April 29, 2009 at 11:13 am
I doubt it, but if that turned out to be true I would never watch 24 again.
Actually, I may not after this season anyway.
April 29, 2009 at 10:00 pm
I stopped after the global warming commercial the “24 potus” during the show. That was it for me!
April 29, 2009 at 10:04 pm
PVG, you shoulda stuck with it. This week, you’d have seen Jack come about this close >< to pimp-slapping Janine Gawdawfulho! It was glorious!
April 29, 2009 at 10:21 pm
Admittedly, would have loved every minute of that!
April 29, 2009 at 9:46 am
After reading Drudge’s report, and the comments here, something I don’t understand is…what the heck was the point of the whole thing? What “photo op” comes from a plane next to a tall building in NYC? I just woke up…so enlighten me please. :)
April 29, 2009 at 9:48 am
I think it was supposed to be a souvenir photo of Air Force One.
April 29, 2009 at 9:52 am
I guess Obama has run out of DVDs, iPods and autographed copies of magazines featuring articles about him or Michelle to give as gifts.
April 29, 2009 at 10:38 am
Oooh, snap, Mama Florida!
April 29, 2009 at 12:21 pm
What, Obama doesn’t like the guys in this photo?
(AF1 near Mt. Rushmore)
April 29, 2009 at 1:32 pm
I’m surprised he hasn’t started “improving” that yet, it has been 100 days
April 29, 2009 at 4:38 pm
OMG, Lyn! I don’t know whether to laugh or be afraid… :)
April 29, 2009 at 9:52 am
Ace had a great line in the comments
“Isn’t it fabulous how Obama has reconciled with our enemies and put fear into the hearts of Americans? Does any image illustrate so neatly the wrongheadedness of the Obama administration than Americans scrambling in terror from Air Force One?”
– From Tantor.
April 29, 2009 at 10:23 pm
short, sweet, and profoundly brilliant.
April 29, 2009 at 9:57 am
Thanks for posting this, HillBuzz Boys. As a New Yorker, I still have not been able to wrap my mind around this cruel stupidity. As someone who worked in the North Tower, I cannot even begin to tell all of you how absolutely LIVID – LIVID LIVID LIVID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was. People, this is a city where we still look up into the sky nervously when ANY plane comes too close to our skyscrapers, much less a 747 being tailed by an F-16. Can you begin to imagine what that must have looked like to the people in the Financial District? 9/11 does not feel like 8 years ago to me, and it most certainly does not feel like 8 years ago to anyone who was here on that day.
The building on 51st and 2nd was the result of a crane coming loose and falling into the building across the street from it – and you are correct HillBuzz, newsreports did show people running and screaming. Can you blame them? The massive steam pipe explosion was underneath Grand Central on Lexington Avenue, and I believe someone was so frightened that they died from a heart attack on the spot.
Why has no one been fired? Reprimanded is not going to cut it with me.
Off topic – I did see tourists wearing masks in Times Square yesterday. Idiots.
April 29, 2009 at 10:19 am
You’re right about the people in masks, Idiots…
April 29, 2009 at 10:43 am
City G: Hugs, love, blessings to you.
I agree: no reprimand! FIRINGS! PUNISHMENT! And Tammy was right about people dying of heart attacks. Survivors can barely take that kind of thing once, let alone a second time or even the thought of it.
KILLERS DWELL IN THE WHITE HOUSE!
IMPEACH OBAMA AND HANG HIM FOR TREASON!
April 29, 2009 at 12:37 pm
Hugs and blessings to you, too!!! And I don’t deserve them, I was just someone who worked in a building. I’ll pass them on to the police and firemen who, against all human instinct, ran into those buildings.
April 29, 2009 at 4:42 pm
Yes, you DO DESERVE more hugs and blessings than I alone could send you!
I understand what you’re saying about the cops and firemen and -women, and even my pals on the horrific bucket brigade and who worked to shore up the slurry walls and remove debris (a number of whom are sick now). BUT, you were in the frigging building!!
I’m so glad you did NOT follow the order to return.
We must ALWAYS remember to do as you did and as the men of HB remind us:
think for ourselves!! Thank GOD you DID!
April 29, 2009 at 11:05 am
this is just the tip of the iceberg guys…we can expect more of this stuff and probably even worse…this guy thinks he is untouchable, and by all accounts, right now he is. mark my words, this country is going to be taken to the brink…prepare yourselves for a bloody fight. God is asking us if we want our country back and if so then we’re gonna have to get dirty…REMEMBER–YOU CAN NEVER CONQUER A FREE MAN…ALL YOU CAN DO IS KILL HIM.
April 29, 2009 at 11:46 am
MIA, you are my kind of WARRIOR WOMAN! Love ya!
April 29, 2009 at 12:32 pm
Me? Go look at your tough mug in the mirror, honeybun…now THAT is a warrior. :)
April 29, 2009 at 10:08 pm
Hey warrior women,
Are you wondering why peeps, especially NY peeps, aren’t flooding the WH with letters and calls condemning this display of stupidity?
April 30, 2009 at 12:33 am
PVG–it’s prolly because they are too freaking traumatized!!!
April 29, 2009 at 10:04 am
This is an excellent list of Obama’s 100 gaffes over his 100 days. It shows just what an incompetent boob this loser really is. Day by day. Read it for a laugh(or a cry).
http://www.newsmax.com/gaffes/index.html
April 29, 2009 at 2:23 pm
Thanks for the link. I can only imagine how the media would have crucified Bush for doing ANY of those, much less 37!
April 29, 2009 at 10:18 am
In addition to causing mass panic and $328k to tax payers… what about the carbon footprint…or does that not apply to Obama.
April 29, 2009 at 10:20 am
Nothing applies to Obama. Aren’t they unveiling the “Christ” painting of him today?
April 29, 2009 at 10:37 am
nope-that got cancelled because of “public outrage.”
April 29, 2009 at 10:48 am
Wait. Are you telling me that the administration is responding to the “public”?
That’s a first.
April 29, 2009 at 10:57 am
Hell no! listen to us?? yeah freakin’ right. remember it’s not the administration that is releasing this picture–it is some local artist who obviously thinks bobo is jesus incarnate.
April 29, 2009 at 3:12 pm
i.m glad to hear it got canceled
April 29, 2009 at 4:25 pm
I’d bet my lunch money there will be copies of it proudy displayed in 95% of Obot homes.
April 29, 2009 at 10:45 am
What “Christ painting”? Are you kidding me?????????????? More like the freaking devil incarnate.
IMPEACH OBAMA! HANG HIM FOR TREASON! HE’S AN ENEMY OF THE UNITED STATES AND HER CITIZENS!
April 29, 2009 at 10:50 am
THIS painting, Garlic.
Disgusting. Arrogant. Narcissist.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/af/The_Truth_(painting).jpg
April 29, 2009 at 10:56 am
The administration had nothing to do with it.
The artist himself cancelled the unveiling.
April 29, 2009 at 11:24 am
Go figure the artist canceled and it had nothing to do with Obama. Zero is doing everything he can to undermine true Christiaity so he can insert himself as a false prophet.
April 29, 2009 at 11:31 am
Suuuure, the administration had nooothing to do with the cancelled unveiling. Riiiiight.
People have been talking about that painting for days. You don’t think Obama’s henchmen took notice and called the artist? Come on, Delle. Don’t be so naive.
April 29, 2009 at 11:48 am
Oh no, you didn’t, foolish artist! WAKE THE EFF UP!!!!!!!!!
April 30, 2009 at 12:14 am
Tammy,
I think I threw up a little in the back of my mouth
April 29, 2009 at 10:45 am
Good for Mccain. “The supposed mission represents a fundamentally unsound exercise in military judgment and may have constituted an inappropriate use of Department of Defense resources,” Senator John McCain of Arizona wrote in a letter to Defense Secretary Robert Gates.
McCain, the senior Republican on the Armed Services Committee, asked Gates to provide a description of the mission, who ultimately approved it and an estimate of how much it cost.
April 29, 2009 at 10:52 am
Well at least he’s doing SOMETHING important. I can’t stand McCain anymore since he threw Sarah under the bus.
April 29, 2009 at 11:05 am
I feel the same way, and I’ll be voting for his challenger. The Sonoran Desert is littered with trash by illegals crossing through. Take a look. And click on the picture on the right to enlarge it: http://www.tucsonweekly.com/tucson/trashing-arizona/Content?oid=1168857
This is UNACCEPTABLE, regardless of who’s doing it! I’d be just as livid if Canadians were trashing the Adirondacks or if Italy or France or Argentina (my peeps) were at our borders and doing this. This is not RAAAAACIST! It’s justified outrage. Who gives a crap about nationality, ethnicity, etc.! It’s about morals and ethics and decency and consideration.
McCain panders, for votes. All that said, I’m glad he’s doing his job as a member of the ASC.
April 29, 2009 at 11:11 am
Illegal is illegal no matter what country one comes from.
Americans are getting sick of this crap.
I don’t care which party people support. I think we should throw ALL of the bums out.
I want a do-over.
April 29, 2009 at 11:28 am
Yeah, time for some fresh faces in the senate!
April 29, 2009 at 11:51 am
Someone, anyone: if you get a chance, PLEASE click on the “Trashing the Desert” article link.
You MUST see the pictures
(and then read some of the reader responses about how complaining about this is RAAAAACIST!)
April 29, 2009 at 12:04 pm
Hey, Garlic. I might consider moving to AZ just to vote if Sheriff Arpaio ran. GO JOE!
I viewed the photos. Sad. I am sure you, being a previous Texan and all :), also realize that the private ranches in TX are going through the same thing, including their fences being cut EVERY single night. You brought up those people that say it is raaaaaaaacist. You and I both know race has nothing to do with it. Thanks for the link. Luv ya.
April 29, 2009 at 12:42 pm
Hey, Garlic!
As I’ve posted here before, our small Midwestern Iowa town has been overtaken by illegal Hispanics. School system at the elementary level is 75%, but others are creeping up, too (60% & 40%). Two meat packing plants are what’s luring the Hispanics to our town.
I’ve seen this site before that you’re referring to. Older, historic parts of our town are slowly transforming into slums—just a few steps away from Third World Mexican cities. It’s not just the cultural lifestyle differences; that I could work with, but what we have now are drugs, weapons and beginning of gangs. Traditionally, we were a 100% German/Irish/English community, so you can imagine the culture shock now. We are losing our historic identity and heritage.
And it’s also a matter of SAFETY. All around me are homes that deal drugs & are beginning to carry weapons. To this, we can now factor in this swine flu crap. Normally, being so far inland we wouldn’t have the problem. BUT . . . every week a new crop of illegals arrives, straight from the hills of Mexico. God knows what could be brought here via the school system. A friend who works at the elementary school says they routinely see lice, bedbug bites and even rat bites! Iowa had a mumps scare several years ago, a disease which had been eradicated for several decades.
BTW, I’d love to contact you personally, Garlic. You can go to eBay, type in seller churchlady1904, and send me an email. I’m curious about your brother and the group family home concept you would like to start (I sent you the info about our facility)
April 29, 2009 at 3:45 pm
Oh my God, those garbage pictures are so disgusting. But the fact that you hate Mexican garbage so much just proves that you are RAAAAAACIST!
If it was American garbage, you wouldn’t complain, now would you? :)
April 29, 2009 at 10:38 pm
Nee,Nee
I’d worry about those folks who are working in the meat packing plant spreadin’ flu cooties!
Folks, this is a living nightmare. Everyday gets worse and worse. I’m not sure I can take staying “informed”
April 29, 2009 at 10:59 am
Yeeeeeeeessssssssssssss!
April 29, 2009 at 11:34 am
Throw ALL of the bums out.
Start over.
Ban lawyers from holding office.
Just a thought.
April 29, 2009 at 11:49 am
Good thought, Tammy. I’m with you! To quote Shakespeare out of context, “Kill all the lawyers” (except for the few decent ones)
April 29, 2009 at 1:24 pm
As a fan of the Bard, I always love a good Shakespeare quote! But just in case anyone’s curious, Shakespeare’s “First thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers” scene was actually intended to SPOOF mob-mentality, and Jack Cade met an ignoble end in that play. Still a classic quote, I’m just showing off my old minor in English Lit! :-)
April 29, 2009 at 4:47 pm
BSB: that’s why I said “out of context.” I shoulda been clearer, but you did a dang fine job of clarifying. I salute you! Your “minor” is better than my “major”! ;)
April 29, 2009 at 11:16 am
Did you guys hear that someone is trying to draft JOE ARPAIO to run for senator!!!??? i would LOVE to vote for that guy–i don’t think it’s going to happen—Simcox is going to make a run against him but i don’t think he has a chance–he has WAY to many skeletons.
April 29, 2009 at 11:50 am
OMG–I hope Sheriff Joe runs!! I will be THRILLED to vote for him!
April 29, 2009 at 12:33 pm
well if it turns out that he DOES make a run for it, we can campaign for him. that would be a hoot!
April 29, 2009 at 4:49 pm
Oh God, yes! Some of the people where I live will have a caniption! I’m going to my first “political breakfast” here on Saturday. I’ll let you know what happens, assuming I’m not shot on the spot! Oh, wait…they’re against guns…heh-heh-heh!
April 29, 2009 at 6:43 pm
oh man! you’ll have to tell me how it goes…i’ll be with you in spirit! :)
April 29, 2009 at 11:05 am
If the administration is admittedly doing ‘nothing’ with respect to Swine Flu, other than making anti-virals available and monitoring the situation (makes me feel all warm and safe)- then why the F is President Platitude going to ask congress for over $1,000,000,000 to handle the situation? Never waste a good crisis!
April 29, 2009 at 11:29 am
Yeah, and he’ll take the billion dollars and use it for more “fly-overs”.
Screw the flu. He wouldn’t care if half the population died from it. Especially if they’re Republicans.
April 29, 2009 at 11:08 am
Obama has to pass his radical programs
quickly. We need puppies, air planes,
flu to snow the public while the damage is
done. What has Obama and the Chicago thugs
really been doing this week??? The average
tax paying American is in real trouble.
God Bless the real American people and
America!
April 29, 2009 at 11:19 am
WOW Has anyone red the theory that the flyover MIGHT be for a movie on the Tuskegee Airman called Red Tail? http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2009/04/post_167.html
Fly By Farce Theory (updated)
Clarice Feldman
JOM poster Mustang has a plausible theory on the fly-by over Manhattan yesterday: that it was to aid in the production of a film Red Tail about the Tuskegee Airman called Red Tail. Tom Maguire details it:
This is an interesting theory about yesterdays fly-by of Manhattan – they were putting together some footage which would be useful to George Lucas’ upcoming film about the Tuskegee Airmen of WWII, known as the Red Tails.
April 29, 2009 at 11:38 am
and they couldn’t tell the peeps in NY about this BECAUSE?????
April 29, 2009 at 11:54 am
Yeah, really! I don’t get the purpose of all the secrecy, especially when they admit that people would get upset.
IMPEACH OBAMA! TRAITOR! TREASON!
April 29, 2009 at 12:40 pm
Why would they need a picture of Air Force One for a movie about WWII pilots?
April 29, 2009 at 12:54 pm
This sounds even more loony than “photo op”.
The Tuskegee airmen flew P-51 Mustang propeller planes during WW2, with the tails painted red so the enemy could know who they were fighting. The Tuskegee airmen were a phenomenal fighting & escort force, besides fighting all the discrimination that put them in a segregated unit. Jet fighters were introduced the last year of WW2, but I don’t think the Tuskegee airmen flew any.
The first 747 Air Force One was used during the Bush 41 administration.
April 29, 2009 at 1:30 pm
I’m not saying It is the reason, just I’ve read it a couple places now,so passing it one to get thoughts. I don’t know alot about the military, but do you know of any other squadrons that have the Red Tail like the Tuskegee, since from what I read the DC don’t and one of the jets in NYC did?
The theory is it MAY have, here’s the origonal (as far as I can tell)post. http://tinyurl.com/d97lho
Connecting some dots, here.
At least one of the escorting F-16s was from the Alabama ANG, Red Tail and all.
Could this photo op mission have any particular connection to a new movie due out this year?
Could that connection explain the WHMO’s eagerness to get some current glamour shots of BHO’s A/C, escorted by the descendants of the Tuskegee Airmen, while flathatting over “the target formerly known as Ground Zero”?
Just imagine the powerful, beautiful imagery of these aircraft during this mission, accompanied by a stirring soundtrack, playing over the closing credits, or released as publicity stills or fundraising fodder – “Yes, America, sleep well…BHO’s got you covered.”
Well, minus the terrified, fleeing citizens on the ground, of course. Ooops. Caldera, you take this one.
“Mission Accomplished”, indeed.
Naw, I’ll bet I’m wrong. Coincidences, all…surely.

April 29, 2009 at 3:49 pm
Think Lucas will want to use that footage now, after all the flap? I’m betting no.
April 29, 2009 at 3:59 pm
“The Tuskegee airmen were a phenomenal fighting & escort force…”
Not so. They were a competent unit and served proudly and well but were not “phenomenal” in any way.
If you do some research, you’ll find that nearly every aerial unit of WWII had some sort of “claim to fame,” and most had several–First this, most that, best something else, newest, oldest, longest service, shortest, whatever. The TA’s “claim to fame” (and a pretty weak one, at that) for years was always “no bomber we were escorting was ever shot down,” but a couple years ago it was proven that at least one—and perhaps two or three—were.
I’m not knocking these men. They served bravely and well and overcame obstacles that other units of WWII didn’t have, but I get sick and tired of the butt-kissing attitude about anything to do with the Tuskegee Airmen. They weren’t supermen or super-pilots. They did their job and did it well but so did tens of thousands of other US airmen of all kinds in that war. They were no more “phenomenal” than Maobama is “phenomenal” as a President. (Although every one of them had a thousand times more courage and patriotism than Maobama does, I’m sure. And common sense, too.)
April 29, 2009 at 10:48 pm
JD,
I do believe you are a raaacccciiisssttt.
But I could be mistaken;-)
April 29, 2009 at 11:51 am
we truly do believe this President is having so much fun with his celebrity and all the many perks of his “historic presidency” that he and his staff are now completely removed from reality.
Sadly, the only snark I can come up with is this:
I’m about to write you a reality check. Or would you prefer the cold, hard cash of truth? The Tick
I just hope that nobody has to pay for it the hard way.
April 29, 2009 at 12:10 pm
Arlen Specter’s conversion to the Democratic Party, while Specter vowed that he’ll be an asset as Obama tries to get his ambitious agenda through Congress.
closer we inch towards a one party system that will have to take all the blame.
does anyone believe these polls..
Happy 100 days of things getting worse!

Bravo HillBuzz….bravo!
Or as we say here in Hawaii….Ona Ho! (Say and play it again!)

Thanks what an ass, I’m sure he had that smug smirk on his face that made me start to really look into him when he was in the Primary
“Asked about fiscal discipline and entitlements reform, Obama seemed to be repressing a smile as he jabbed critics of his spending plans.
“Those of you who are watching certain news channels on which I’m not very popular, and you see folks waving tea bags around, Obama said, “let me just remind them that I am happy to have a serious conversation about how we are going to cut our health care costs down over the long term, how we are going to stabilize Social Security.”
“But,” Obama continued, “let’s not play games and pretend that the reason [for the deficit] is because of the Recovery Act.”
The great Uniter…I can never understand how anyone could fall for that after HE divided the Dem party, with his cheap shots on the Clintons and the bitter clingers who wouldn’t vote for him.
April 29, 2009 at 1:38 pm
But I thought he didn’t know about the Tea Parties!
He criticizes FNC too.

April 29, 2009 at 12:57 pm
As I said in post #19 – there is NO WAY the White House didn’t know about this AF1 Photo Op. They keep very close track of the planes used as Air Force 1 (yes – there is one main plane – but others are kept in the ready as part of our national security and for the security of the President) Rahm, at the very least, had to know. If the White House stands behind their statement that they didn’t know, then that is a HUGE national security risk. Can you imagine the things that can be done with an Air Force One plane? Not to mention all the top secret capabilities that the planes must possess? My son shot a video of AF 1 landing at a small municipal airport he works at. Never in a millions years would you think a plane that size could land on such a small airstrip. It’s just a tiny bit of the capabilities that plane has.
For me, this just isn’t now about the callousness shown the citizens of NY City, but the apparent cavalier attitude given a piece of equipment integral to our national security.
The sad thing about it is that all the President had to say was that he was “furious” when he found out and the MSM puts the story to bed.
April 29, 2009 at 1:10 pm
Not to mention IF he didn’t know about it, what does that say about him and his staff?
April 29, 2009 at 3:18 pm
that they are clueless.
April 29, 2009 at 1:00 pm
Hillbuzz.. Apparently, Barry is so thin skinned that he is whining about the tea parties now. I guess dissent stopped being patriotic on January 20th, 2009.
April 29, 2009 at 1:12 pm
Only racist rednecks dissent now, silly you.
April 29, 2009 at 3:13 pm
And according to Janine Garofalo, we’re all brain-damaged too.
That makes us brain-damaged redneck raaaaacists!
April 29, 2009 at 4:22 pm
I wonder if Obama agrees with his bestie Janine about this. Perhaps someone should ask him at his press conference.
BTW, who got the brilliant idea to hold the press conferences before American Idol and Lost? Really? What is next? Scheduling a press conference during the 4th quarter of the Superbowl?
April 29, 2009 at 4:55 pm
Right. Only racist rednecks. So we’d better not hear a peep from ACORN! (harumph! we need to destroy them!)
April 30, 2009 at 12:26 am
Garlic,
didn’t you have some info on them? I thought there was discussion on that on another thread. They are corrupt and need to be disbanded.
April 29, 2009 at 1:41 pm
Wasn’t Obama the one who said “…true patriotism [is] speaking out on the issues…”
April 29, 2009 at 2:28 pm
But Eric…it’s not patriotic if you’re dissenting against the Chosen One!
April 29, 2009 at 2:40 pm
Has everyone seen this? It was a damn political stunt for OBAMA POLITICAL SUPPORTERS!
“Sources said the reason for the stunt was to create souvenir pictures of a customized Boeing 747, which serves as Air Force One when the president is aboard. Photos of the plane flying over the Statue of Liberty were to be given out to family, friends or supporters.”

Here is an interesting theory evolving:
http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2009/04/post_167.html
JOM poster Mustang has a plausible theory on the fly-by over Manhattan yesterday: that it was to aid in the production of a film Red Tail about the Tuskegee Airman called Red Tail. Tom Maguire details it:
This is an interesting theory about yesterdays fly-by of Manhattan – they were putting together some footage which would be useful to George Lucas’ upcoming film about the Tuskegee Airmen of WWII, known as the Red Tails.
Note: If these knuckleheads did this for a freakin movie, they need to have their a*** whooped!

Those New Yorkers must have thought that that 747 was under the control of a Muslim terrorist.
And you know what?
THEY WERE RIGHT.

Palin Fans, I mentioned this last week, don’t forget:
Just a heads up for our readers, Governor Palin will be appearing on the next episode of “American Chopper.” You can catch this episode on Thursday evening at 9pm ET on TLC.
C4P has their usual excellent write-up plus a picture of the Gov in tighter jeans than most Moms of 5 could possibly hope to wear!

My fingers got ahead of my brain there, and I meant to add Chelsea Clinton as well, and to say that I honestly don’t know if any of them ever made the list, but I’m betting not.
April 29, 2009 at 3:23 pm
Oh Good Lord Poeple magazine 100 most beautiful people Meeshell Also included in a “Barack’s Beauties” section were White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and others.
Timmy the orc is one of the most beautiful people? I wonder if Barky is pouting because he isn’t on the list.
April 29, 2009 at 3:27 pm
George W and Laura’s girls are both very beautiful. I wonder if THEY were ever named to the list?
April 29, 2009 at 3:33 pm
and they don’t even need a fulltime make up artist
April 29, 2009 at 3:46 pm
George and Laura’s girls?
I’m impressed by Jenna. She’s an all time favorite of mine.
And I’m a Democrat.

I’ve loved them ever since they had the chutzpah to drink at Chuy’s in Austin before they were legal. ;)

Doubtful;IIRC,Time named its list of 100 most influential people in 2007,I think, and W was never mentioned.

What a pitiful man. What a pitiful couple squatting in the whitehouse.
Now they want to GIVE AWAY 1 billion of our tax dollars to Pakistan unconditionally. Can you say Al-Queda?
http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/025887.php#respond
When is this going to stop?
He gave billions upon billions of unconditional job stimulous dollars to Bank of America only to have B of A jobs slashed by the thousands in USA and thousands of jobs to be offered in INDIA B of A. Who wants to talk to someone in India about your account? Not me. If you have a B of A account get rid of it. Your personal information can be viewed by those working in India. (See Alegre Corner for the whole story)
Some unemployment rates are up to 15% now.
WTF are they doing?
A large company in my area that was on the stock exchange was about to implode as they were hanging on by a shoe string. The original owner of the company came in and fired the CEO who had outsourced their customer service to India and that’s when the company began to fail.
Then the original owner removed the company from public stock exchange and made it private like before this CEO took hold.
They are on the rise now and they think they’ll make it. They are even hiring when previously they were down to a skeleton crew. So getting rid of India outsource, the crooked CEO, and the Stock exchange has put them back on the road to recovery. No thanks to blowhardObama. Pitiful man.
Anyone can do what he does. Sign bills all dressd up with complete make-up, go golfing and flying around the country…talk in front of an audience with a teleprompter written by someone else….anyone can do that! Pitiful man. Stupid is as stupid does.
FYI
April 29, 2009 at 3:52 pm
I’ve said it before on this site, I believe: Obama is a puppet and Soros has his hand way up his ass.
He’s an empty nothing. And frankly, I don’t even think he’s a good speaker. I can’t listen to him talk because he sounds so phony. I’ve used a teleprompter in my line of work, and he’s really not that good at “reading”.
I remember at the end of the Democratic race how fantastic I thought Hillary was when she spoke. I don’t know if she’d gotten some coaching or if she was just revved up, but she was SOOO GOOD. And I’m a conservative!
rise Hillary: The naked Emperor will be exposed. The only problem is, it will take a REAL collapse of our economy for people to see his bare bottom. And they are not going to be happy when they see his skinny ass. Not happy at all.

The low flying plane over New York speaks volumes for insensitivity, callous, selfish thoughtlessness. Whoever authorised that… I liked Jon Stewart on the Daily Show climbing up on the desk ready to punch their lights out.
April 29, 2009 at 4:33 pm
Check out Texas Darlin for their take on the fly over. It’s mind games.
April 29, 2009 at 4:04 pm
Don’t forget: Watch *Lie to Me* on the FOX broadcast network tonight. (The show is actually pretty entertaining.) Let’s get the ratings up for that and show Maobama that no one is interested in hearing him blather on for an hour in prime time anytime the mood strikes him.
April 29, 2009 at 4:22 pm
JDaddy–so Fox is NOT broadcasting it??? i heard Hannity say they had to move thier scheduling back because they WERE going to show it…what’s the word?
April 29, 2009 at 4:38 pm
They will be broadcasting Lie To Me on the fox broadcast channel.Fox News will carry the Brown Clown;s teleprompter.

MIA are you a New Mexican? I had an encounter with Governor Arby’s Curly Fries last week. I think he is having his last hooray before he heads off to jail.
April 29, 2009 at 6:36 pm
Hey Buffy–yes native New Mexican…and PROUD of it, dammit! even if the state has gone to hell in a handbasket…WTH!!! he is going to jail?? wow–ok, i hadn’t heard about that–what gives? and did you say anything to him? did you try to steal his curly fries? ;)
April 29, 2009 at 6:49 pm

April 29, 2009 at 6:51 pm
well i guess if you ran into him last week that WOULD make you a NMcan…DUH. tee hee
April 29, 2009 at 8:28 pm
Well he hasn’t been charged with anything yet but it is very possible with all his pay-to-play deals and investigations of him. He’s even been tied to the same firm as Blago. If he doesn’t go to jail AT LEAST some of his top staff will. Yes, I am in New Mexico.
April 29, 2009 at 8:33 pm
No curly fries were involved because I was in a small town west of Albuquerque where there is no Arby’s.
April 30, 2009 at 12:33 am

Fellow NM’s? I did alot of growing up in Hobbs and Eunice. Lived in AbQ too?

Nice of him to name the speech what it is.

They had a little snippet about self soothing behavior and used Michelle as an example in her Inauguration dress.
I think it was on the second show of the series.

Karma: where’d she have her hand?
April 29, 2009 at 10:15 pm
They were straight down and sorta cupped in front of her with one of her thumbs rubbing her other hand/thumb.
She really did look insecure in the still.
At the end of the season Hulu generally puts up the entire season again. So it will be available later this year, I’ll keep an eye out and post the link and time stamp.
April 29, 2009 at 4:04 pm
He’s alrady collapsing. His voter base in NJ and NY are sick of him and scared to death to spend money. They are mad that they were bamboozled and these are AA’s. They already know he’s a squatter but were wanting the so-called freebies until they realized it was coming out of their taxes to pay for someone else to sit in front of the TV all day on welfare and get freebies and they would get the shaft instead of free college etc..
April 29, 2009 at 4:27 pm
What are AA’s? Alcoholics?
April 29, 2009 at 4:34 pm
African Americans
April 29, 2009 at 5:57 pm
LMAO–we PUMAs used the “AA” designation so much during the primary that we all know what it means. Even AAs on HCForum and Hillary’s Village use(d) it!
April 29, 2009 at 6:34 pm
Ha! I like alchoholics bettter:)
April 29, 2009 at 5:55 pm
rise_Hillary: are you from Jersey or NYS?? Whereabout? Are you sure that they’re having buyers’ remorse? I hope so. I was extremely ticked about how they allowed themselves to be bamboozled. It doesn’t fit the profile of people who can’t usually be hoodwinked.
I will NEVER forgive Corzine for handing over all Hill’s delegates to Barky at the non-convention! And Pisslosi stifling the “nay” vote by talking over it?
When, when, when is God going to get Her vengeance? No, wait, God must be a male being, because I don’t know any women who’d wait this long to smite a CHEATER!!!!!!!!!!!!

62+% graded him “whatever comes below F.” HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
April 29, 2009 at 11:42 pm
I liked voting for his dog!
April 29, 2009 at 4:44 pm
I find these polls very interesting. How is it that internet polls, where actual people can vote he is creamed, yet these Gallup Polls where they pick and choose who they want to poll he has a 60+ approval? I realize it’s just an internet poll, but I really do think that it speaks more from a regular person’s point of view than the other polls. For example, I have never been polled on the phone or anything, and I’m sure there are more people than not who also aren’t asked. I did vote in this particular poll. I laughed as I chose “his dog” as the thing I liked the most about BO. I have nothing against his daughters, but Michelle irritates me, so I wasn’t saying “his family”. Although, for what I dislike the most, I wanted to say “all of the above!”
As far as polling goes, I would be surprised if we still have people lying to pollsters about their feelings, especially since this RAAAACCCCCIIIIISSSSTTT stuff has gotten worse since the election, and a lot of people would rather just “agree” than be called that. LOL Me, I know what’s in my heart, and I know that if someone like Steele were my president, that I would be proud… and I’m not even a republican! So I am just so sick of the race card, I know that any of us who read hillbuzz would prefer Steele over Obama in a millisecond, regardless of our party!
April 29, 2009 at 4:48 pm
I’d prefer Tavis Smiley or Mr Nutter, Mayor of Pittsburgh. (I think it’s pittsburgh)
April 29, 2009 at 6:04 pm
I love Michael Nutter! I believe he’s the mayor of Philly.
April 29, 2009 at 6:23 pm
We have been a Gallup Poll family for over two years now.
About twice a month we fill out surveys on various topics. Prior to the ascendance of BO—regardless of survey topic— every single cotton-pickin’ survey’s first question was ALWAYS “What kind of job do you think President Bush is doing?”
Only one survey this year had the usual question, and you can bet I checked “poor.” Now I’ve noticed that suddenly the question seems to be off the table. So at the end of the last survey (in the comment space) I wrote in: “Every other survey you always asked us what kind of job we thought President Bush was doing. How’s come now, you’re not asking me my opinion of President Obama’s job? Huh??”
I’ll let you know if I get a response, or if the question reappears.
April 29, 2009 at 6:02 pm
noodlenoggin: love your screen name–LOL!
Anyway, voted. That. Felt. Great!
Too bad they didn’t ask what our party or political designation is, because the media need to know that even socially liberal(ish) folks loathe the MADMAN-TRAITOR!
April 29, 2009 at 6:38 pm
Garlic, I just wish you’d stop holding back your feelings toward Obama.
It’s not healthy :)
April 29, 2009 at 6:46 pm

As awful and obvious as this stupid incident was, at my office today we had a little birthday cake for a co-worker and the obots took the opportunity to converse all about what a loser Giuliani is/was. And then(!) one of them actually said that Giuliani has the biggest ego in the world. Oh. My. God. What?
I don’t have an opinion about Giuliani and he isn’t my buddy – that’s not the point. The denial is just insane. It’s insane.
And these are women, both over 50, one is a mom and grandmother and the other has an advanced degree. They should know better but yet they are HOPELESS, just hopeless. Just 2 days ago they were saying of the Palins “You know, *those* kind of people, what can you expect.” It’s pathetic! How can two experienced adults be such blind black/white partisans?
And perhaps about half of our office thinks differently than they do, but it doesn’t even slow them down from offending the rest at the top of their lungs. Though I will say at our birthday get together, everyone else there turned their eyes aside and the party broke up right there.
I want to be an optimist for Americans, but there is some obdurate, incorrigible denial going on.
April 29, 2009 at 5:02 pm
I have relatives like this.
I have no desire to argue with them and so keep politics off limits. I suspect that eventually they will begin to see the truth, but it will have to be their own realization. Sad but true. Some women are slow learners when it comes to a smooth talker.
April 30, 2009 at 11:03 am
FLMom it’s so true. They are like the friend dating the cheating, lying loser and taking him back again and again.
April 29, 2009 at 6:03 pm
Great post, perries. Thank you!
April 29, 2009 at 6:27 pm
Hey, Garlic!
Just curious if you’ve made any progress on your assisted living facility for your brother. I emailed you the link for the successful program here in our town. If you want to email me, go to eBay and search for seller. I am churchlady1904. I’d like to correspond further with you on a few things.
April 29, 2009 at 7:45 pm
Hiya, Nee Nee!
I don’t recall getting an e-mail from you, and I don’t see one in my folders. But then, with the hubbub of moving…I might’ve accidentally deleted it.
What I’m steeped in right now is trying to get my brother qualified for AZ’s version of Medicaid, so that he can go to adult day care.
I’m also trying to find PAYING editorial work. None of the regular clients have any, and I admit I’m FREAKED and scared.
My idea for Bliss Ranch Foundation is, down the road, to build a cohousing community that would feature Down’s adults as the star residents, along with us other folks.
Would you mind e-ing me again? desertedit@cox.net.
April 29, 2009 at 9:02 pm
I am sorry, garlic. Don’t be freaked and scared. We’re all pullin’ and prayin’ for ya.
It IS going to turn around. :)
April 30, 2009 at 9:14 am
Thanks, TXMom. I admit my faith’s been shaken of late. I need to think “mustard seed”!
Shame on me!
April 29, 2009 at 4:39 pm
Yeah. No one wants to admit they voted for a loser who bamboozled them so of course theya re on the defensive. They’d vote for an elephant if it was a Dem. Squatter Obama is not a Dem though. He’s a DINO. He belongs to the New democrat communist party that allows dual party membership.
April 29, 2009 at 6:59 pm
I love that, rise_hilary:
Obama is a DINO! Yubba dubba doooooo!
April 29, 2009 at 8:38 pm

April 29, 2009 at 5:13 pm
Just out of curiosity–it would be interesting to see figures of both travel expenses (including complete entourages, TOTUS, et al)and White House operating expenses (wagyu beef parties, thermostats set in the 70’s, etc.) for the first 100 days of several previous administrations as they compare to this One. Especially since “everyone needs to sacrifice.”
April 29, 2009 at 6:06 pm
If you’re an accountant, I nominate you to head up an independent committee to audit the federal govt. and the White House. You go, girl!
April 29, 2009 at 6:36 pm
This is from ‘hillary is 44′ and is so priceless I just had to repost it.
While Americans are scrimping and saving Obama is living high on the hog.
Obama feasts on Arugula and $100 imported steaks. On Earth Day Obama wastes tons of jet fuel in order to “stand before windmills” and emit hot air.
As per the fly over:
It’s like someone coming up to you, sticking a gun to your head for 15 seconds, walking away and hearing 20 minutes later it was an undercover cop posing for a photo,” said Wall Street worker Bill Privett.
“I am still shaking,” he said.
April 29, 2009 at 6:42 pm
I can’t imagine how many people were traumatized yesterday.
This administration is so insensitive and boorish and disgusting.
I hope someone from New York sues the government over this. I mean that.
April 29, 2009 at 7:09 pm
Me, too. Like maybe the family of the person (or persons!) who died of a heart attack upon seeing the jet.
EVIL, EVIL BEING!

Three words – class action lawsuit
Gotta be a lawyer in NYC that would love to have this case.
April 29, 2009 at 7:12 pm
Don’t forget the NJ waterfront folks of Jersey City, Hoboken, and Bayonne.

This is one case where I LOVE LOVE LOVE lawyers.
Just wait.
Someone is going to sue.
April 29, 2009 at 6:54 pm
Love him or hate him, Dick Morris has an interesting take on Obama’s popularity:
“When the Obama administration crashes and burns, with approval ratings that fall through the floor, political scientists can trace its demise to its first hundred days. While Americans are careful not to consign a presidency they desperately need to succeed to the dustbin of history, the fact is that this president has moved — on issue after issue — in precisely the opposite direction of what the people want him to do.
Right now, Obama’s ratings must be pleasing to his eye. Voters like him and his wife immensely and approve of his activism in the face of the economic crisis. While polls show big doubts about what he is doing, the overwhelming sense is to let him have his way and pray that it works.
By 42-8, the Fox News poll (conducted on April 22-23) found that voters felt Obama had expanded government rather than contracted it (42 percent said it was the same size) and, by 46-30, reported believing that big government was more of a danger to the nation than big business. (By 50-23, they said Obama felt big business was more dangerous.)
By 62-20, they said government spending, under Obama, was “out of control.”
So if voters differ so fundamentally with the president on the very essence of his program, why do they accord him high ratings? They are like the recently married bride who took her vows 100 days ago. It would be a disaster for her life if she decides that she really doesn’t like her husband. But she keeps noticing things about him that she can’t stand. It will be a while before she walks out the door or even comes to terms with her own doubts, but it is probably inevitable that she will.
For Americans to conclude that they disapprove of their president in the midst of an earth-shaking crisis is very difficult. But as Obama’s daily line moves from “I inherited this mess” to “There are faint signs of light,” the clock starts ticking. If there is no recovery for the next six months — and I don’t think there will be — Obama will inevitably become part of the problem, not part of the solution.
And then will come his heavy lifting. He has yet to raise taxes, regiment healthcare or provide amnesty for illegal immigrants. He hasn’t closed down the car companies he now runs and he has not yet forced a 50 percent hike in utility bills with his cap-and-trade legislation. These are all the goodies he has in store for us all.
The success or failure of his policies will determine his outcome, and there is no way it will be positive.
Why?
• You can’t borrow as much as he will need to without raising interest rates that hurt the economy;
• The massive amount of spending will trigger runaway inflation once the economy starts to recover;
• His overhaul of the tax code (still in the planning phases) and his intervention in corporate management will create such business uncertainty that nobody will invest in anything until they see the lay of the land;
• His bank program is designed to help banks, but not to catalyze consumer lending. And his proposal for securitization of consumer loans won’t work and is just what got us into this situation.
So Mr. Obama should enjoy his poll numbers while he may.
April 29, 2009 at 7:03 pm
Dick Morris is a brilliant strategist. Look what he did for the Clintons when he was on their side. He has called races correctly almost EVERY time.
I enjoy reading his stuff although I’m sure some Clinton supporters hate his guts now.
He’s calling this Obama thing to a tee. Obama WILL fall.
I just wish it was sooner.
April 29, 2009 at 7:16 pm
I copyedited OUTRAGE, and not a word of thanks. But no extremist, Left or Right, whose book I ever worked on has liked little ol’ me.
That said, he IS brilliant. I hate how he trashes Hillary, but that doesn’t make him any less incisive, just a toe-sucking cheater and a spiteful little toad. But a smart one.
April 29, 2009 at 7:22 pm
What???? You got no thanks and NO credit?
Now THAT is outrage.
He is toady looking isn’t he? But he is so damned smart and has picked every political race on the NOSE.
He reads the public sentiment like a psychic. Amazing.
April 29, 2009 at 9:19 pm
I edited somewhere around 200 books and I can’t think of a half-dozen authors who ever thanked me. And only one ever gave me a written credit.
The ones who DID thank me were the easiest to work with, and the nicest people, too. Most of the rest weren’t bad people, they just had no more thought for or about editors than you do about the kid who puts the toilet paper on the shelf at your supermarket.
April 30, 2009 at 9:24 am
I guess I’m spoiled. I get thanked often and included in the Acks page.
I’ve gotten nice gifts at times, too. The latest was a box of fancy nectarines from the author of STREET GANG: THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF SESAME STREET (Michael Davis).
But I noticed a pattern: extemists don’t like me, regardless of whether they’re uberliberal or uberconservative. They don’t enjoy having holes poked in their arguments. I only do so in order to help them make a more solid case, regardless of my feelings about the topic. Make the best possible book is the hue and cry.
I have no idea how many books I’ve edited in 28+ years. Sometimes a friend will be reading a book and will see a kudo to me and call me, and I won’t even have remembered working on that particular title. LMAO!
April 29, 2009 at 8:46 pm
I don’t think Clinton fans hate him. He’s a lowlife dirtbag, but smart, very smart. He was outsmarted though by Hillary, and she fired his ass. Now he hates them both. So sad. Most of us respect what he has to say, but when he directs his speech to the Clintons you can tell it’s because of the toe sucking thing, and he still harbors a lot of hatred towards them. When I see he’s gonna be on fox I can’t wait to hear what he has to say.

I’m not a Morris fan, but found his analysis interesting. What this tells me is that people are not taking a close look at what BO is doing and are swayed by his “silver tongue”. They won’t care until it affects them personally, and then it will be too late.

This is my third post today and none show up, but will try again. I got this in a email. Does anyone know if there is any legitimacy to it:
Subject: Smoking gun finally found?
AP- WASHINGTON D.C. – In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama’s qualifications for the presidency, the group “Americans for Freedom of Information” has released copies of President Obama’s college transcripts from Occidental College. Released today, the transcript indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate at the school. The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California. The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program. To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship. This document would seem to provide the smoking gun that many of Obama’s detractors have been seeking.
The news has created a firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about Obama’s legitimacy and qualification to serve as president. When reached for comment in London, where he has been in meetings with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Obama smiled but refused comment on the issue. Meanwhile, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs scoffed at the report stating that this was obviously another attempt by a right-wing conservative group to discredit the president and undermine the administration’s efforts to move the country in a new direction.
Britain’s Daily Mail has also carried the story in a front-page article titled, “Obama Eligibility Questioned”, leading some to speculate that the story may overshadow economic issues on Obama’s first official visit to the U.K.
In a related matter, under growing pressure from several groups, Justice Antonin Scalia announced that the Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to hear arguments concerning Obama’s legal eligibility to serve as President in a case brought by Leo Donofrio of New Jersey. This lawsuit claims Obama’s dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. Donofrio’s case is just one of 18 suits brought by citizens demanding proof of Obama’s citizenship or qualification to serve as president.
Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation has released the results of their investigation of Obama’s campaign spending. This study estimates that Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with eleven law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records. Mr. Kreep indicated that the investigation is still ongoing but that the final report will be provided to the U.S. attorney general, Eric Holder. Mr. Holder has refused to comment on the matter.

do you have the link?
April 29, 2009 at 9:58 pm
I do not know. I got this in an email, that is why I am not sure of it. I just wish it was true so badly, but it seems it would be in the news somewhere if it was, but then again, who knows? Does anything get reported about Barry?
April 29, 2009 at 9:46 pm
oh please oh oh please oh oh please oh oh please oh oh please oh oh please oh oh please oh oh please oh oh please oh oh please oh oh please oh oh please oh oh please let this be true, so we can flush this turd.

As much as I would LOVE this to be true (and I do believe there is a strong possibility he went to college as a foriegn student)I just searched for this article and one of the things I found quoting it was from April 2nd, so think if it was true it would be all over the place by now, if not the American news than probably the UK or Canadian.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090428091742AAfBooC
It said this was before he went to G20 so I checked the Daily mail and couldn’t find anything.
I do think there is some reason like this that he refuses to release any of his school records. He probably got into Harvard as a legacy and since his dad was Kenyan, I could see Barky saying he was too, especially if it would help get in or financially.
April 29, 2009 at 10:24 pm
Lyn. God Bless You. YOU KNEW IT. I KNEW IT. I have been telling my sweet and very adorable hubby that he had to be a foreign student for him to keep those records closed. AND I want to see WHO has funded and/or provided scholarships.
This just started a whole new kind of ballgame.
WOOOOOT! Luv ya
April 29, 2009 at 11:18 pm
girlpower. Thank you. Bless you.
“Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with eleven law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records.”
If the story is not true(which I believe it is highly probable), then why would he spend that much on blocking his records? There IS a reason for that kind of expenditure.
PVG, where are you to say, “WHERE IS HIS STINKING BIRTH CERTIFICATE?”.

(Sorry if this has already been posted. If not, enjoy! All (well, many of) the contradictions and hypocrisies are laid out for easy viewing.)

I wouldn’t watch The Phony One if you paid me, tracey!
His purple lips make me nauseous.
April 29, 2009 at 7:18 pm
It’s stunning how he can stand there and spout lie after bald-faced lie!
He’s invoking Churchill, now, on the matter of torture. Hmm…
April 29, 2009 at 7:23 pm
Yeah, I’m watching Lie To Me the series, not Lie To Me the 100 Day Media Delusion.
April 29, 2009 at 7:28 pm
LOL. FLMom, that was damned funny!
The show, “Lie to Me” is based on Paul Eckman, an NLP practitioner.
If you watch Obama closely, you can tell when he’s lying. Stuttering over words is one sign of lying, and that’s why he has to use the prompter all the time.
Also watch his “back of the hand” movements. Dismissive and closed off.
I’ve been studying this body language stuff for a class I’m teaching and it’s fascinating.
April 29, 2009 at 7:16 pm
Hell must have frozen over. BO actually complimented the Bush administration for their preparation they put in place for epidemic outbreaks.
April 29, 2009 at 7:30 pm
Give BO a minute. I’m sure he’ll be blaming Bush for the fly-over any second. Hey, stop watching him. Your head might explode!
April 29, 2009 at 7:35 pm
All the better to be able to blame him later by saying that he thought Bush had everything in place.
April 29, 2009 at 8:02 pm
I think it will take time for the Republican Party to rebuild itself but I think Romney will be president come 2016 if he’s not too old at 69.
April 29, 2009 at 8:34 pm
I hope it doesn’t take that long!!! These 100 days were bad enough!
April 29, 2009 at 9:17 pm
Hope you’re wrong…
April 29, 2009 at 8:09 pm
Gee, do you think the Swine Flu will be BO’s “Katrina”???
Only if more illegal Hispanics keep bringing it in thru open borders. In my town we’re a little worried, because about half the town of 10,000 is Hispanic. Schools are 75%, 60% & 40% (elementary, jr. high, & high school, respectively). My husband the letter carrier says he gets a new batch on his route every week. “Lots more coming in & fewer rotating out,” is his assessment.
Iowa also had a resurgence of mumps a couple years ago—a disease that had been eradicated for decades. A friend of mine works at the local elementary school and she says the usual stuff is lice, bedbug bites and even an occasional RAT bite!
April 29, 2009 at 9:07 pm
Hi, Neenee. Yesterday we had the first casualty in the U.S. of that hybrid flu. A precious little 23 month old from Mexico City. They took him/her to Brownsville; then Houston hospitals on the April 13. So sad. We have four high school kids with it in Cleburne, TX; it’s about 20 minutes from here.
April 29, 2009 at 8:50 pm
I’m glad to see that this blog is finally reaching its logical conclusion: in a period when the White House and all its cabinet members support an ambitious, fraudulent usurper, why not support the opposition party?
Think about it.
Where do your true loyalties lie after the last 365 days?
April 29, 2009 at 8:55 pm
Hey, it says there’s 316 comments and I can’t read past #70
Can someone help me out on this? Or are they counting the comments at each number.
So confused…
April 29, 2009 at 9:06 pm
Hey, Tammy!
I think the “71″ comments include all the un-numbered replies to posts.
But there’s something screwy when it comes to posting speed . . . today I posted something at 12:40 and it just now showed up around 8:30!
April 29, 2009 at 9:26 pm
I’m noticing the slow response. Probably because there are so many posts and links.
I can’t wait for Hillbuzz’s new website.
April 29, 2009 at 9:11 pm
Tammy, the total count counts all the replies, but the replies aren’t numbered, just the original post. This reply is on post #71 but when I got on just now there were over 320 total posts on this thread (a Hillbuzz daily record, I think!). You’re seeing it all.
April 29, 2009 at 9:24 pm
Cool. Thanks Nee Nee and JackDaddy.
I was getting confused.

Have you checked it out on Snopes.com?
April 29, 2009 at 10:04 pm
Obama’s trademark “Yes We Can” has been embraced by the Iranian president Ahmadinejad.
There is a promotional video making the rounds in the ramp-up to Iran’s presidential poll on 12 June, when Ahmadinejad is up for re-election.
According to the Guardian, the Obama-inspired film features Ahmadinejad wearing his ubiquitous white jacket, pointing to the Farsi phrase Ma Mitavanim (We Can) on a blackboard.
Is there any doubt who BO’s friends really are? Can you imagine the Iran dictator co-opting anything George Bush might have said??
April 30, 2009 at 7:48 am
Nee Nee and if he did can you imagine the rabid news coverage of it?

April 30, 2009 at 12:40 am
Larry Sinclair LIVES!!!! Man i TOTALLY believe this guy…seriously.
April 30, 2009 at 8:54 am
MIA–I’ve heard Larry speak many times, especially on a BTR show called “My Two Cents” (go, Matt!), and he’s TOTALLY credible. He has no reason to stick his neck out other than that the LIES enrage him.
Seriously, he risks being murdered, the way the choir master at Trinity United, and a few other people, have been.
BTW, Matt is a guy that PUMAs know from the HCForum and Hillary’s Village and other spots on the Web, going back over a year now. He was only 18 when we first all met him, and he’s an African American who loathes Bobo. He is way wise beyond his years. He loves Hillary AND Sarah, as most of us PUMAs do.
And I use PUMA not to divide us all but to explain that a bunch of us, under the PUMA name, had a certain similar Dem primary experience and have broken with the Party, which has been overtaken by extremists. We’ve also been together since at least Jan. 2008, so we have a common bond and experience. PUMAs don’t always agree on everything, but we all agree that BO is a FRAUD and the Dem party is a sham!
April 29, 2009 at 11:54 pm
Holy BAT POOP!!!!
WOW, never heard this before…..
April 30, 2009 at 7:09 am
When oh when will any of this hit mainstream? I have been following this story for so long. It makes me wonder what else in our lives the media ignores just to aggrandize themselves and their anointed ones.
April 30, 2009 at 7:46 am
As long time Hillbuzz readers and Hillary supporters this is not news to most of the ex-Dem posters here. There are lots of stories out there, some worse than this that the MSM has suppressed about Obama.
I really don’t believe that any of this news will ever see any legitimate air time.Just think if it was G.W.Bush,Hillary or Bill.We would be inundated with 24/7 hourly news updates.
April 30, 2009 at 7:49 am
Oh and Sarah Palin of course. They pounce on any little tid bit about her.
April 30, 2009 at 8:37 am
Fox News this morning had a blurb about our border guards not being allowed to wear surgical masks!!
Dept. of Homeland Security says they would be “intimidating” to folks crossing.
Swine flu be damned, I guess. . . .
April 30, 2009 at 11:49 am
Everything you always wanted to know about swine flu but were afraid to ask:
http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/04/29/Swine-Flu.aspx
It is so much ado about nothing! A diversion from the fact that our country is being taken over by the obamafia! We will survive the flu, but will we survive this administration?!
April 30, 2009 at 4:50 pm
It will probably come out that the LOTUS (liar of the US) needed the footage for one of the fine documentaries/films being made about his “historic presidency.” Mark my words.
