The cartoon above is from POLITICO today, and it has nothing at all to do with Boystown, but all we could think of when we saw Rahm Emanuel with his Appletini was “that sure looks an awful lot like Mini Bar or Sidetrack in there”…if you replace the elephants in the back with dozens of young, hungry social climbers and Mitch McConnell with Jake Gylenhaal, or one of the Jonas brothers, or Zac Efron, or someone.
Just walk into Mini Bar on Halsted any Friday or Saturday night and you will meet many very well-dressed young stockbrokers, bond traders, or lawyers who all landed very sweet jobs at big Chicago firms after Rahm Emanuel gave them, uh…recommendations.
Young, good-looking, usually dark-haired, football-player build type guys.
Because Rahm Emanuel is a giver. He likes to help young guys just starting out because he has such a big heart — and learned everything he knows about this “mentoring program” from his days in New York, at Studio 54, when he was a very friendly male ballerina at Julliard.
The role of Truman Capote in Appletini circles is, thus, now being played with gusto by Rahm Emanuel.

So, HillBuzzers, in your expert opinion, what is the diagnosis here, for us clueless heteros…
Is this what you call “Livin on the down low” as Barry O is also said to do? According to Larry Sinclair, Barry O hired two of his “boy toys” to work in the WH and be close at hand for emergency services. Larry named them both but I didn’t recognize either one. I don’t think they have memorable resumes. Anyway, my understanding of the Down Low lifestyle is that it is more about being serviced by any/all available partners — which to me fits The One’s personality quite well… gimme gimme gimme now now now. But I have a harder time imagining Rahm-E being able to carry that off sub-rosa for very long. He’s too hyper and obnoxious and indiscreet, isn’t he?
Or is this a case of Closet Queerness? Which to me means Rahm-E is a secret homosexual who conducts a heterosexual life on the surface, with a “beard” wife/family in tow. Maybe he has a special gay partner or small group of gay friends or mixed friends who understand the situation. Maybe Rahm-E’s wife is gay or otherwise engaged, and they have a mutually acceptable arrangement?
Help us out here guys! You can see what kind of wild conjecture you’ve started. I demand answers! Aren’t we supposed to be able to talk about all this stuff openly? I do love the mystery but I’m getting curiouser and curiouser about the truth…

Come to Chicago and go to Mini Bar on a Friday or Saturday. You will meet many young men who are very grateful to Rahm Emanuel for his largesse. Go to Man’s Country on Clarke in Andersonville on a Tuesday or Wednesday and you’ll find an older crowd who remembers a young state senator from Chicago who used to go there and brag about his position…always receiving attention from the towel-clad older white guys there, never giving attention. This would have been 1996-2000 or so. By 2003, the young state senator got better handlers and the Man’s Country visits stopped, for one reason or another, in advance of brighter spotlights.

So you’re basically confirming things I read at Sinclair’s blog last year. Barry O was well known in gay Chicago circles, rather swaggered & bragged about it.
I am almost afraid to ask the next question. Involving Trinity United “Church”… Donald Something (can’t remember his last name)… the gay choir master from Obama/Wright’s “church” who was murdered in his apartment, execution-style, and who was said to have been a very special friend of our Dear Leader’s. What is the buzz in the gay community about that? That is serious, serious business and conjures up all that is evil rolled into one big stinking dog pile — adultery, murder, conspiracy, coverup, and injustice on a massive scale.

Rahm’s sexual orientation is fairly obvious. Even some in the MSM will snark about it (just like Charlie Crist). But I wasn’t aware that there were any rumors about Barry. I thought that the guy who accused him had made a fool of himself and been discredited and that the more plausible rumor involved the lady in Martinique.

I find it interesting Joe Bidens son the Del AG had Larry arrested when he held his press conference in DC to talk about Obama’s sex and drugs in the limo..but then shortly after Joe was picked as VP all the charges were dropped against Larry.

Now I’m officially creeped out. In Sunday’s ARIZONA STAR, there was an article entitled, “Tear Down the Wall Between Us and Nature,” which is, for the most part, what’s done in the community I now live in (look out for rattlesnakes! look, a javelina in the backyard! etc.).
After I read the article, I let my mind wander to just such a time when all humans would be gone and Earth would once again be overgrown with all manner of flora and repopulated with all types of fauna.
Must’ve been tuning in to the collective unconscious. As long as this show doesn’t conflict with the DANCING WITH THE STARS results show tonight (winky-dink), I’ll check it out.

So I’m confused…was Rahm encouraged to live a straight cover life because he was gay and his advisers didn’t think being gay was good for his political career? Or was it because he lived a fairly scandalous gay life that wouldn’t translate well in Illinois politics. Look at Barney Frank – his former boyfriend ran a prostitution ring out of Barney’s home and BF still keeps getting elected. Rahm is deep into the Chicago political machine, I don’t see how being gay would have impacted him that much. For me – it just adds to the total dishonesty of the BO administration. I don’t care who you love – but could you just please be honest!
