As a straight, heterosexual Republican who did vote for W, I genuinely appreciate the strength of character you have exhibited in recognizing and appreciating the values and abilities of your political opposite. W was not all I wanted in a conservative president, but I agree with your assessment of him on all points. He was clearly the right man for the job in a very difficult time. I thank you for your honesty, for your willingness to be candid with that honest in front of everyone, and for the respectful manner in which you voiced your disagreements.
